Aigis: Amada-san, your persona has changed. Why is this?

Just what in the world would Aigis want to ask him? Coming from her, it could be anything, and that makes him…a little nervous.

Almost everybody looks surprised– Mitsuru-san and Sanada-san both look surprised and interested, in a way that reminds him of every good-guy scientist he’s ever seen in a scifi movie. Fuuka-san is the only person who doesn’t. She could probably sense Kala-Nemi even before Aigis did and just hadn’t said anything.

Yukari-san groans and rolls her eyes, but Fuuka-san is hiding a smile again and Arisato-san is nodding with a sage and thoughtful expression. Aigis and Mitsuru-san both look like they have no idea what Junpei-san is talking about. 

Sanada-san’s face is interesting– he looks like he thinks it is a good comparison, but he isn’t thrilled about it. Ken is honestly surprised he even knows what Pokémon is. 

“Kinda?” Ken says. That feels like a diplomatic enough answer. It is the easiest comparison to make, even if it feels a little childish. 

“Do you know why your Persona would change?” Sanada-san asks. “When did it happen?”

“Um… It was last night, after we talked. I guess…it’s because I realized I didn’t need Nemesis anymore. She was there for me when I did, but now that I don’t, she turned into something else.”

Sanada-san glances over at Mitsuru-san, who has a knuckle pressed thoughtfully to her chin. “Have you ever heard of anything like this, Mitsuru?” He asks.

“Secondary awakenings have been considered possible in a theoretical sense for some time, yes,” Mitsuru-san says, sounding contemplative.  “A Persona is a mirror of its human user, after all, and human beings change and grow all the time. If an individual’s mental state changes enough– if they experience a dramatic shift in perspective, or acquire a new resolve, for example–  then it stands to reason that their Persona could change as well.” 

Sanada-san hums and crosses his arms. “That does make sense, but you make it sound like you’ve never actually seen it happen before. Amada’s the first person to have a second awakening, then?”

That can’t possibly be true– the Kirijo group has been researching Personas for at least ten years, right? Probably even longer than that. There’s no way that he’s the first person this has ever happened to... 

“The first that we have on record, yes,” Mitsuru-san replies. “There have been unsubstantiated reports, and some cases where it’s been speculated to have occurred, but never anything that could be confirmed.”

Ken shifts a little in his chair, feeling suddenly antsy with a weird combination of pride and something that’s kind of like– stage fright? “Would Ikutsuki-san or any of his research team want to–?”

“Absolutely not,” Mitsuru-san says, her voice suddenly sharp and fierce. 

Eyebrows go up all around the room. Mitsuru-san looks embarrassed and clears her throat. “I apologize for my tone,” she says, much more levelly. “It’s a fascinating development to be sure, and it’s– generous– of you to offer to help expand our understanding of Persona as a phenomenon–

“But there’s already a great deal being asked of you, Amada. I wouldn’t have you subjected to– additional pressures.”

Mitsuru-san mostly looks just as relaxed as she had before, but her hands are tense. Sanada-san watches her out of the corner of his eye.

Ken decides to drop the subject.

“Well,” Mitsuru-san says. “Unless anyone else has a particularly pressing question, I think it might be a good time for us to bring this meeting to a close. Is that alright with you, Amada?”

“That’s fine– I’m pretty tired.” He doesn’t realize how true that is until he says it– his whole body suddenly feels very heavy, and his bed has never seemed more inviting.

the part about ruri and momo's relationship that hurts me the most is that they both loved each other so much and yet that love is also what broke them both. it's the way ruri wanted to cheer her little brother on even if she felt sort of inferior to all his achievements. it's the way momo wanted to make his big sister happy. it's the way ruri didn't communicate her honest feelings and how momo was a oblivious and a bit insensitive. it's the way that when he revived re:vale, he really did seem to put himself in every place ruri loved. it's how ruri could have avoided it all if she had been more honest with her feelings. it's when momo told tsumugi that what hurts idols most is an overwhelming love and expectations they can't meet, that it's no one's fault, and how that parallels the way the sunohara siblings hurt each other out of love for something else but also for each other (thinking that his sister would be happy her beloved band was kept alive, staying quiet because she didn't want her little brother to be burdened by her envh) but it was no one's fault. it's -

When Junpei had gotten jolted awake from the sprawled ( if somewhat awkward ) comfort of the dorm's armchair by the sharp sound of his cellphone in his jeans pocket, he hadn't known what to expect, but he's pretty sure it wasn't a real text ━ it seemed all too often scammers found his phone first, and he was already half annoyed when he flipped it open, eyes squinting at the little screen, only for that train of thought of damn it, who woke me up?! and this better not be about some project he forgot about... to get snatched by the gear-shift and fried like children sticking fingers into bug-zappers.

he was on his feet stumbling as he shrugged on his faux-fur lined jacket and shouldering open the front door onto the front steps as his brain scrambled faster than he might've ever gone. Last minute study sessions and movie marathons and pretty girls who'd ghost him be damned, those legs hadn't moved like this in a long time.

it's a miracle he managed to spell any of those six words correctly as he ran, in full honesty.

the remark that he was old was as effective as a child splashing water at him. that is to say, not at all. roland had seen himself often enough in the mirror to know that everything had probably aged him a bit here and there.

of course, while this girl wouldn't have known anything about him, those quips still stung a bit. he wasn't that out of practice, was he? he couldn't afford to slack if it meant getting revenge.

"oh, trust me. not asking for anything." he managed a wry grin. "you might be the one begging me for scraps if everything goes smoothly."

he knew he didn't really have to prove anything to this high school girl, but at the same time, a part of him couldn't resist. was it the desire to ensure he was fit to complete his goal? or the desire to prove he still had his mettle?

"you're definitely not useless. you'd probably be a good fit for some of the places i'd worked at, but don't get me wrong...you're still pretty young for this sort of dirty work. got a whole life ahead of you."

Fuuka-san’s hands are pressed over her mouth, and her eyes are wide and frightened. Yukari-san puts a comforting hand on her shoulder and squeezes.

He feels sick to his stomach. Fuuka-san thinks he did that to be brave… And he’s just letting her. He can’t look at anyone suddenly, so he keeps his attention fixed on the pattern of the carpet, tracing the outlines of each square with his eyes. Koromaru’s looking at him, he can tell, but Ken can’t even meet his gaze.

𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 is beyond the default , without a doubt : out of the ordinary . however — it doesn ' t stop her . her annoyance having overflown , — read : shaking a soda and then opening it as if it wouldn ' t ( 🇪‌🇽‌🇵‌🇱‌🇴‌🇩‌🇪‌ ) . mayhaps she could try to blame it on the tensions gone unresolved for far too long . despite her outward approach of being indignant && seething with ire when it concerned ' gojo satoru ' , it was only ever 🇸‌🇺‌🇷‌🇫‌🇦‌🇨‌🇪‌ 🇱‌🇪‌🇻‌🇪‌🇱‌ . while she did see him as an annoyance , always goading her && calling her weak ; hate was too strong of a word to define the absolute ocean that ebbed && flowed with aggravation along side comfort ( of all things )

now it ' s 🇧‌🇱‌🇮‌🇸‌🇸‌ that he ' s provoked . willing && submissive . a hum that rearranges itself into a moan vibrates against her vocal chords . utahime is hyperaware of the fact that he ' s going to be insufferable after this , once again calling herself stupid . . . she can ' t be too mad though — he feels good , which is favorable in the current , but it ' s a disadvantage in the long run . she ' d decided that this was a one time thing . . . but now . . .

eyes originally closed open and veer their gaze to the other , looking up at him through her eyelashes she catches cerulean and cyans , a riptide pulling her in , her gaze presents itself as nothing less than 🇩‌🇦‌🇿‌🇪‌🇩‌ ; wanting . blood lets itself gather in the apples of her cheeks , crossing her nose and raising into the tips of her ears . hot hot hot . body runs rapid with heat , with the warmth of two bodies following the same wave , arms bind loosely around his neck where fingertips / nails glide over the nape and legs are wrapped around him the best she can manage in her position ( bent out of shape ) . lips drop open and cast a new breath , only then to capture his in sloppy kiss , uneven and slick in the mesh . she presses her leg against him in her attempt to reign him in just as she breaks the kiss , sight gravitates to him once again . ❝ then don ' t stop , idiot ❞
