Health
Between the pandemic, disabilities, trauma, and the wear and tear that comes with being a human, physical and mental health are always on the forefront of our minds. The organizations below strive to address the structural inequity of healthcare access, disability rights, and safety and well-being.
For more information on donation methods and accepted currencies, please refer to our list of organizations page.
Amputee Coalition
The Amputee Coalition supports, educates, and advocates for people impacted by limb loss and limb difference as well as their families and caretakers. They developed the National Limb Loss Resource Center, have a large focus on peer support programs, advocate on the federal and state level, and offer educational programming. They also fund local chapters that serve amputees across the globe.
Assistance Dogs International
Assistance dogs are essential to millions around the world but are cost-prohibitive for many. Supporting this organization will mean that this essential service is less of an economic burden for those who need it. In addition to training and placement, ADI advocates for the legal rights of people with disabilities partnered with assistance dogs and sets standards, guidelines, and ethics for training the dogs.
Autistic Self Advocacy Network
The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy equal access, rights, and opportunities and have their voices heard. For that reason, the organization is run by individuals on the autism spectrum. ASAN's primary focuses are advocating for policies that protect disability and civil rights, creating tools and leadership training for autistic self-advocates, and offering educational resources.
Center for Reproductive Rights
The Center for Reproductive Rights is the only global legal advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring reproductive rights are protected in law as fundamental human rights for the dignity, equality, health, and well-being of every person. With local partners across five continents, they have secured legal victories before national courts, UN Committees, and regional human rights bodies on issues such as access to life-saving obstetrics care, contraception, maternal health, and safe abortion services and the prevention of forced sterilization and child marriage.
Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund
DREDF is the leading civil rights organization in the United States that fights for and is directed by people with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities. Not only does DREDF work directly with their clients to help them know their own rights, but they train and educate lawyers, lawmakers, and other societal gatekeepers to make sure they know those rights as well.
International Association for Suicide Prevention
IASP tackles suicide and suicidal behavior prevention and creates a space for academics, mental health professionals, crisis workers, volunteers, and people with lived experience to come together. They push for evidence-based research, suicide prevention efforts across all cultures, sectors, and regions globally, and the facilitation of mentorships between countries with more established prevention strategies and countries at earlier stages of strategy development.
Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF)
Odds are you’ve heard of MSF, the global organization that sends trained medical professionals to the places they’re needed most. MSF has been working globally for over 50 years, providing medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare—no matter what. They’re guided by principles of independence, impartiality, and neutrality to global political policies or movements.
National Network of Abortion Funds
The National Network of Abortion Funds builds power with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice. They provide their grassroots base of over 100 autonomous, diverse organizations/abortion funds in the U.S. and abroad with leadership development, infrastructure support, and technical assistance. Some fund procedures while others cover abortion pills, transportation, lodging, childcare, doula services, and other forms of support.
The Pad Project
Period stigma and lack of access to affordable, safe, and effective menstrual products are a global problem. The Pad Project partners with local communities internationally to serve people who menstruate across all genders through funding the placement of pad machines and implementing washable pad programs. They also pair menstrual product access with education—workshops on menstrual hygiene management and sexual and reproductive health and their award-winning documentary, Period. End of Sentence.
Palestine Children's Relief Fund
PCRF delivers crucial, life-saving medical relief and humanitarian aid to children and families in Palestine and throughout the Middle East, especially those in Gaza and Lebanon's refugee camps. In addition to providing free medical care, equipment, medicine, and treatment, PCRF also supplies clean water, hygiene kits, food, and other necessities. Their programs include mental health and amputee projects, support for infrastructure plans such as hospital expansions to improve healthcare access, and sponsorships for children who are disabled, orphaned, or in need of medical treatment or surgery.
Partners In Health
Founded by Paul Farmer when he was still in medical school, PIH is committed to bringing exceptional health care to every corner of the planet. PIH also works to provide access to food, transportation, housing, and other key components of healing to the most vulnerable. Their work started in Haiti but has expanded rapidly across the globe.
Undue Medical Debt
Over 100 million Americans (one in three) are struggling with paying off medical bills. COVID has only added to those numbers, putting people under significant financial burden and emotional distress. This organization buys up medical debt in order to forgive it with no tax consequences to donors or recipients. Donate just $1 and you wipe out $100 of someone's medical debt, $100 to get rid of $10,000 in debt, and so on—the ripple effect is real. Through their work, Undue Medical Debt not only helps with financial relief but also brings attention to the need for a more compassionate, transparent, equitable, and affordable healthcare system.

Comment Obtenir Un Chien D’assistance ?
Comment Obtenir Gratuitement Un Chien d’Assistance ?

Lost Chicago Building 4 - First Regiment Armory
Tumblr media
One expects to see knights on horseback issuing forth from the gaping arch of the gloomy, forbidding structure, its slanting dark-gray stone lower walls giving way to a deep brick-red upper portion, complete with corner turrets. It seems transplanted from some medieval legend, yet its looming appearance in late-19th-century Chicago’s near south side was carefully calculated.
In 1890, the wealthy and socially prestigious First Regiment of the Illinois National Guard erected its own castle-style armory on South Michigan Avenue. It housed a parade ground, office space for all 12 companies and regimental officers, locker rooms, a gym, a library, several small parlors, and a large weapons storage facility.[1]
Tumblr media
Designed by the firm of Burnham and Root in 1890, the Armory is an impressive, though rather curious work from their oeuvre. According to contemporary accounts, the building was designed to serve as a true medieval-type fortification, with a heavily protected arched door, firing slits, and battlements. In addition, interior provisions were made for the training and accommodation of the regiment, as well as for its social functions. The ornamental stone and brick mass of the exterior could indeed withstand a siege, if only symbolically. The severe cubic form with battered masonry walls and a great central arch recall the earlier, more sophisticated designs of H. H. Richardson.[2]
What did such a curious, yet outwardly forbidding, structure mean for 19th-century urban America? Such buildings were part of a cultural tradition, not only of military but of urban history. It was only in the 20th century that a corps of reserve soldiers came under federal control, an important part of the country’s military system. Up to then, “state-controlled militias of citizen-soldiers were the nation’s primary resource for civil defense and response to civil unrest.”[3] In the decades leading up to the Civil War, such citizen militias had three primary functions:
First and foremost, it was a military body charged with ensuring both domestic and international peace; second, it was a civic entity whose responsibilities included appearing at both somber and festive public events; finally, it was an elite fraternal organization for members of New York’s middle and upper classes.[4]

“Design for First Regiment Armory, Chicago,” signed P.F. Newberry, Del. Inland Architect and News Record, Vol. 13 No. 7, June 1889, pl. 90 fol. p. 92.
Not apparent at first sight are the darker purposes of such militaristic structures: as expressions of rabidly anti-union, anti-rabble rouser, anti-socialist sentiments of such powerful men as Marshall Field, department store magnate and richest man in Chicago. The building's appearance, fortress-like and commanding, was a product of the fear of class warfare felt by the upper classes of Chicago society. Around 1890, “new specially designed and constructed armories came to mark the urban landscape with distinctive forms.”[5]
The Armory stood guard over the gilded aristocracy of nearby South Prairie Avenue, at that time the enclave of the very rich. Such late-19th-century armories, notes an AIA guide to Chicago, “were fortified like castles to preserve public order against possible workers' demonstrations and other civil unrest.”[6]
The heyday of armory building was between 1880 and 1910. The sponsors and builders of those armories expected that they would be used in preserving the peace and protecting private and public property. Because riots could happen quickly, they also felt that armories should be located near rapid transit, to facilitate a speedy assembly of the militia. Why did prominent citizens ask authorities to spend public funds on an essentially private military building? The answer is that there existed such a degree of labor strife and violence during that period, that society's elite felt a strong threat to its world, which was thought could collapse momentarily unless proper defensive measures were taken.[7]
Tumblr media
In Chicago, such outbreaks of labor or anti-industrial violence included the Haymarket Riot of 1886, followed by civil unrest during the depression of 1893, and the Pullman Strike in 1894. The gap between rich and poor grew ever wider during the Gilded Age; an increasingly industrial and socially-stratified society exposed the cracks in America’s economic and social systems, and led  groups of wealthy individuals to militarize urban areas against repeats of such violence.
In Chicago, Marshall Field, the department store magnate, underwrote a similar militarization. He donated land three blocks from his home on the city’s “Millionaire’s Row,” an address he shared with fellow grandees like George Pullman and Phillip Armour, for the construction of the First Regiment Armory: “The two upper stories, on top of the massive masonry of the first floor, are crowned at the angles by great bastions, from which an enfilade fire may be directed against any side of the walls,” as a contemporary observer described it. Field and his associates then furnished the police with four twelve-pound cannons, a Gatling gun, 296 breech-loading rifles and 60,000 bullets.
In other words, in the late 19th century, when the Robber Barons wanted a militarized police force to defend their wealth and power from those left behind, they often had to reach into their own pockets to supply the guns and even carry a gun themselves as a militiaman.[8]
Fearing a potentially violent working class uprising, the residents of Prairie Avenue placed political pressure on politicians to construct an armory to protect Chicago’s most prominent businessmen. Daniel Burnham and John Root were commissioned to design the First Regiment Armory at 1552 S. Michigan Avenue.

Interior: The Main Hall
Constructed 1889-91, the Burnham and Root-designed structure stood at the northwest corner of Michigan Avenue and Sixteenth Street until its destruction in 1967.
To the First Illinois Regiment Armory John Root imparted the Richardson (or, better, the Romanesque) feeling for great wall spaces and small penetrations. Massiveness and vigor are combined with romantic charm after the manner of a master. The building is wholly without ornament, obtaining its effect, as architecture should, by dignity of proportion and the complete solution of the problem.[9]
The Armory boasted thick stone walls, rounded turrets, and slots for firing rifles when defending military troops stationed inside. The structure stood about 75 feet high, roughly three stories, its sides measuring between 163 and 172 feet. A canted base of rusticated sandstone stressed the building’s solidity, while the upper walls of vitrified brown brick rose 35 feet above this base. The arched opening or sallyport (the only entrance into the ground floor) measured 40 feet wide and 10 feet deep, “scaled to accept sixteen men marching abreast.”[10]
The entrance opened onto a drill floor 150 by 168 feet. The roof featured skylights that provided natural light to the interior. A lengthy description [available in the HABS Report at this link] of the Armory appeared in “Design for First Regiment Armory, Chicago,” Inland Architect, vol. 13, June 1889, p.92. It noted:
A pleasant feature is to be the social life in the armory. The floor of the main hall is of hardwood, highly polished, and will be kept in excellent condition for dancing. With this in view the men will be required to wear rubber-soled shoes while drilling. The only feature requiring criticism is the hanging of the great main door. This weighs twelve thousand eight hundred pounds, and is balanced by a large weight, making the entire strain twenty-five thousand six hundred pounds, which is supported on five single pulleys, attached to a light beam, secured to the ceiling of the second floor.[11]
Root’s design found its source in the medieval architecture of France; it was compared to such structures as the 14th-century keep at Vincennes.
The sandstone masonry was magnificent, especially where the wall returned at the surrounds of the sallyport, a detail reminiscent of the granite angles at the base of the Rookery. In the brickwork, the first register of stilted window openings was beautifully ordered by the relieving arches above and rifle slots below.[12]
Andrew Rebori, architect and writer, described the building as “an individual version of Romanesque,” but in “the free and Romantic style which aims not primarily at elegance, but at an effect of massiveness and vigor, and which has for its first object to break in upon the spectator's apathy.”[13]
The new structure was destroyed by fire in 1893, and immediately replaced, presumably to the original plans. Contemporary photos show the building in what appeared to be in a state of ruin.[14]
Tumblr media
Construction (or reconstruction) in the mid-1890s, following a fire which gutted the building.
The anticipated threats to the citizens of Prairie Avenue and vicinity never materialized; the high society crowd instead attended lavish social events at the Armory. The venue hosted auto shows in the first decades of the 20th century, as well as the occasional dog show. It was used for training and assembly of soldiers destined to be shipped off to the Great War. Prairie Avenue itself had ceased to be popular by the late 1890s, hastened by the encroachment of industrial buildings and a “notorious vice district just to the west,” the Levee District, which  rose during the 1893 World’s Fair.[15] By the early 1900s the grand houses were being sold off for business space or converted to apartments. In the next few decades, many of the mansions would be demolished.

August 10, 1940 –The land beneath the First Regiment Armory at the northwest corner of Michigan Avenue and East Sixteenth Street is sold by the Estate of Marshall Field to the Standard Realty and Mortgage Company for an estimated $40,000. The sale is subject to a 99-year lease that Marshall Field made in 1890 with the First Infantry Armory Association at an annual ground rental of $4,000.  The first armory was built on the property in 1893, but it burned down less than a year after it opened.  It was replaced in 1894 at a cost of a half-million dollars, raised by popular subscription….

The growing list of Muslim Student Association (MSA) terrorists – with updates
The MSA - established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood - has branches on hundreds of campuses in the U.S. and Canada. And many of its campus leaders have engaged in and been arrested for waging jihad.
Originally posted on April 25, 2015
The MSA has a growing list of terrorist alumni as noted in this post, Why Muslim Student Group Concerned the NYPD:  *updates below
The list is extensive, but among the MSA alumni who went on to terrorist involvement are:
Anwar al-Awlaki, an influential American-born al-Qaida cleric who recruited a series of homegrown jihadists before being killed by a U.S. drone strike;
Aafia Siddiqui, convicted of attempted murder and assault on U.S. officers and employees in Afghanistan;
Zachary Chesser, convicted of attempting to provide material support to the Somali terrorist group al-Shabaab and soliciting attacks on “South Park” producers for an episode in which the prophet Muhammad was shown in a bear suit;
Jesse Morton, convicted with Chesser of threatening the South Park producers with murder;
Adam Gadahn, an al-Qaida spokesman who is on the FBI’s Most Wanted List for treason and material support to al-Qaida;
Waheed Zaman, who was convicted of plotting to blow up transatlantic flights;
Adis Medunjanin, who is awaiting trial for plotting to bomb New York subways;
Ramy Zamzam, who was convicted in Pakistan of conspiring to carry out terrorist attacks;
Omar Hammami, who was indicted on charges of providing material support to al-Shabbab and is designated by the U.S. Treasury Department for his terrorist connections;
Muhammad Junaid Babar, who pled guilty to his support to al-Qaida; and
Syed Hashmi, who pled guilty to providing material support to al-Qaida.
MSA was founded in the United States in 1963 by members of the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood seeks a global Islamic state and has spawned leaders of a series of Sunni terrorist groups, including al-Qaida, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The Muslim Brotherhood motto established by founder Hassan al-Banna is, “God is our objective, the Quran is our Constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our way, and death for the sake of God is the highest of our aspirations.”
MSA members remain faithful to Brotherhood ideology. At the closing session of the MSA West conference in January 2011 at UCLA, attendees recited a pledge, “Allah is my lord, Islam is my life, the Quran is my guide, the Sunna is my practice, Jihad is my spirit, righteousness is my character, paradise is my goal. I enjoin what is right, I forbid what is wrong, I will fight against oppression, and I will die to establish Islam.”
Update 1 via the Hayride: h/t terrortrends
In June 2006, Ali Asad Chandia, who had served as president of the Montgomery College (Maryland) MSA in 1998 and 1999, was convicted on terror charges as part of a Northern Virginia jihad network; he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for three separate counts of conspiracy and material support to the Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Abdurahman Alamoudi, who served as MSA national president in 1982 and 1983, is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for his extensive international terrorist activities, which included fundraising for al Qaeda.
In February 2010, Aafia Siddiqui – a woman who had been captured in 2008 with explosives, deadly chemicals, and a list of New York City landmarks – was convicted of attempting to murder a U.S. Army captain while she was incarcerated and being interrogated by authorities at a prison in Afghanistan. Described variously as “al-Qaeda’s Mata Hari” and “Lady al-Qaeda,” Siddiqui had previously been radicalized by the MSA chapter at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she studied neuroscience.
Wael Hamza Julaidan, who served as president of the University of Arizona MSA in the mid-1980s, went on to become one of al Qaeda’s co-founders and its logistics chief. In September 2002, the U.S. governmentlisted Julaidan as a specially designated global terrorist, identifying him as a close associate of Osama bin Laden and other al-Qaeda leaders, and as a director of the Rabita Trust, which had already been designated a terrorist finance entity that supported al-Qaeda.
University of Idaho MSA president Sami Omar Al-Hussayen, who operated nearly a dozen Arabic-language websites for anti-American, pro-suicide-bombing clerics, was accused by federal authorities of using his academic studies as a cover for terrorist support activities. Al-Hussayen wasdeported to Saudi Arabia in June 2004 after agreeing to a deal with federal prosecutors.
In December 2009, Howard University dental student Ramy Zamzam, who had served as the president of MSA’s D.C. Council, was arrested in Pakistan along with four other D.C.-area men (all of whom were also active in MSA). All five were charged with plotting to join the Jaish-e-Muhammed terrorist group with plans to attack U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan; all five were convicted in a Pakistani court in June 2010 and sentenced to at least 10 years in prison.
Syed Maaz Shah, secretary of the University of Texas-Dallas MSA chapter, was arrested in December 2006, for his involvement in paramilitary training at an Islamic campground, where he was preparing to join the Taliban in order to fight U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Shah was convicted on weapons charges in May 2007.
Ziyad Khaleel, president of the Columbia College (Missouri) MSA, was a representative of the Islamic Association for Palestine (a Hamas front). He also registered and operated the English-language website for Hamas, and served as al Qaeda’s chief procurement agent in the United States during the 1990s. Among the items Khaleel purchased was a $7,500 satellite phone for Osama bin Laden. That phone, dubbed by intelligence authorities as the “jihad phone,” was used to plan the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings.
Anwar Al-Awlaki served as president of the Colorado State University MSA in the early 1990s, and as chaplain of the George Washington University MSA in 2001. In Washington, DC, he delivered sermons that were attended by two of the 9/11 hijackers and by Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. In 2002 Alwaki fled the U.S. for Yemen, where he developed ties to al Qaeda and reportedly played a role in the Fort Hood massacre of 2009, the failedChristmas Day underwear-bomber plot of 2009, and the attempted Times Square bombing of 2010.
Carlos Bledsoe, aka Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, was a member of the MSA as a student at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. Bledsoe went on to receive terrorist training at a jihadist training camp in Yemen and returned to the US and murdered US Army Private Andy Long outside a Little Rock, Arkansas recruiting office on June 1, 2009.
Abu Mansoor al-Amriki, aka Omar Hammami is an American-born member of al Shahab, a Somali Islamic militant group aligned with al Qaeda. Hammami served as president of the MSA chapter at the University of South Alabama.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who would later go on to mastermind the September 11th terrorist attacks as the number 3 man in Al Qaeda, was a member of the MSA chapter at North Carolina A&T in 1986.
Update 2 via a CJR reader in Canada: h/t lburt
Here are some names in Canada

Update 3: Add a pedophile to the list – Ahmad Saleem
Orlando community activist Ahmad Saleem drove to a Clermont-area house intending to meet a 12-year-old girl he had been chatting with online for sex in a vehicle with a specialty “Invest in Children” license plate, authorities said Tuesday…Saleem was also the Orlando regional coordinator for the Council on American-Islamic Relations…
He attended the University of Central Florida, where he was President of the Muslim Students Association. He later became the MSA National Service Director before founding the Saleem Academy.
Update 4: Middle Tennessee State University added to the list:
Dareen Ahmad, leading active member in the university’s Muslim Student Association, tweeted: “…we need a new Hitler”
Dana Swaies, a well-known representative for the school’s MSA chapter stated: “May Allah annihilate the Jewish dogs”
Shaden Hamdulla contemplated putting Jews in concentration camps and called for a new Hitler to wipe them out
Update 5: Abdul Kareem Saeed Alkady – Twitter jihadi
Update 6: This list just got a lot longer.  CANADA: Biographies of MSA Alumni with Terrorism Connections (excerpts only, full description at the link)
Tumblr media
Awso Peshdary: Ottawa born accused terrorist Awso Peshdary was arrested in February 2015 as part of operation ‘Project Servant’ by the RCMP Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET). He was charged with participation in the activity of a terrorist group
Khadar Khalib (aka AbdulBaqi Hanif): Grew up in Ottawa and later moved with his family to Calgary. Khalib was a member of the Algonquin College MSA. It is believed he was radicalized by Awso Peshdary. According to the RCMP, Khalib travelled to Syria in late March 2014 with the alleged assistance of Peshdary and former University of Ottawa business student John Maguire, who was already in Syria at the time. Khalib is now believed to be in Syria fighting with the Islamic State, therefore he was charged by the RCMP in abstentia in February 2015. Weeks before Khalib left for Syria, both he and Peshdary took part in Islam Awareness Week on Algonquin College’s Woodroffe Avenue campus, which was sponsored by the MSA.[61]
John “Yahya” Maguire: Grew up in Kemptville, ON. He received a scholarship to study in Los Angeles in 2010 and returned to Canada enrolling at the University of Ottawa in 2011, at which point friends claimed he had already begun making extremist claims, and became involved with the university’s MSA. He joined IS in 2012, travelling to Syria on a one-way ticket, and posted a propaganda video in 2014.[62] He was charged in abstentia with participating in a terrorist group in Syria, Iraq and Turkey, and conspiring with a terrorist network in Ottawa. He was reportedly killed in battle, but no official agency has confirmed his death.
Ahmed Said Khadr: Born in Egypt, Khadr moved with his family to Montreal in 1975, and then to Toronto several months later. He enrolled at the University of Ottawa, studying engineering. While there he joined the MSA, agreeing with their notions of Sharia law, and became a vocal advocate for Islamic rule in his native Egypt.[65] …Khadr was killed on October 2, 2003, along with al-Qaeda and Taliban members, in a shootout by Pakistani security forces near the Afghanistan border. An al-Qaeda website profiling “120 Martyrs of Afghanistan” described him as a leader of Bin Laden’s organization and praised him for “tossing his little child [Omar] in the furnace of the battle.”[68]
Salman Ashrafi: Originally from Pakistan but raised in Calgary, Ashrafi was enrolled at the University of Lethbridge, where he completed a bachelor degree in management. During his university years, Ashrafi started to practice Islam in a more serious manner and became heavily involved with Islamic activism in the campus, serving as president of the MSA. Following graduation, he worked at Calgary’s Talisman energy for one year before quitting in 2012, and flying to the Persian Gulf.[71] He blew himself up in November 2013 in a double suicide bombing at an Iraqi military base, reportedly killing 46 people on behalf of ISIS, using the nom de guerre Abu Abdullah al-Khorasani.[72]
Chiheb Esseghaier: A Tunisian national and scientist, who was a doctoral student with a research arm at the Université du Québec at the time of his arrest. Esseghaier admitted to “La Presse” in an interview to only becoming immersed in religion after arriving at the University of Sherbrooke, when he read books and websites about Islam and joined the local chapter of the MSA, and began attending a local Mosque. He was charged with plotting an attack on a VIA rail train in the Niagara region, and did not deny the charges, stressing that there is “no shortage of reasons” to launch a terrorist attack on North America.
Ferid Imam: University of Manitoba student who served as the local chapter of the MSA’s president.[75] He is wanted by the RCMP on terrorism related charges following a four-year investigation.
Imam has also been charged in the foiled al-Qaeda plot against New York City subways.
Khaled al-Qazzaz: Khaled al-Qazzaz was born on July 3, 1979 in Cairo, Egypt. He moved to Toronto in 2000 to do a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto, where he met his wife, Sarah Attia. He served as the UTSG MSA President in 2002-2003.[97]…
He was taken in a wave of arrests alongside several other top Muslim Brotherhood aides after a military coup toppled the government on July 3, 2013. After spending 18 months in prison, he was released by Egyptian authorities in January 2015.[98]
Maiwand Yar: Born in Pakistan in 1983, Yar is a former student of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba, and was the local MSA chapter’s treasurer.[105] According to the RCMP, in 2007, it is believed that Yar departed Canada with accomplice Ferid Ahmed Imam for Pakistan. Yar is being sought on charges of conspiracy to participate in the activities of a terrorist group and participation in the activities of a terrorist group.[107]
Muhannad al-Farekh: Born in Texas, al-Farekh grew up in the United Arab Emirates and was educated in Jordan.[108] In Canada he lived with his grandmother in Winnipeg. He is a former business student at the University of Manitoba, who served as the office manager of that chapter’s MSA from 2005-2006. On April 2, 2015, an arrest warrant for Muhannad al-Farekh was unsealed after an RCMP investigation. The allegations against al-Farekh date back to 2007.[109] It was then that he disappeared to Pakistan along with University of Manitoba colleagues Farid Imam and Maiwand Yar. Though both Imam and Yar were charged in 2011 with terrorism offences following an RCMP national security investigation called Project Darken, al-Farekh was only indicted in April 2015. The criminal complaint accused him of travelling “to Pakistan to join al-Qaida” and helping a terrorist group targeting American citizens and military personnel.[110]
Omar Kalair: President and CEO of United Muslims (UM) Financial, Kalair is wanted by the RCMP with respect to a sharia banking fraud investigation. Videos of previous RIS (Reviving the Islamic Spirit) conventions available on YouTube show that UM Financial sponsored the Toronto Islamist convention in 2005 and 2006. A profile of Omar Kalair posted on a Wilfrid Laurier University alumni’s website indicates that, during his years as an Economics student, “Kalair founded the Muslim Students’ Association [MSA] and remained its President for four years.”[113]
There are many others with links to MSA in the TSEC expose.
Update 6B: New link here and additions below:
Qutbi al-Mahdi:  Involved with the Islamic movement in Sudan from a young age. While studying for his PhD in Islamic Studies at McGill University, Qutbi was active with MSA and then ISNA, where he served as President from 1984-1986.
Youssef Sakhir, Samir Halilovic and Zakria Habibi:  All three are from Sherbrooke QC, and became friends through a local Muslim association in the Eastern Townships. They were Facebook friends with the University of Sherbrooke MSA. They vanished from Quebec last year at around the same time and are currently being sought by RCMP and CSIS.
Dr. Wael Haddara (aka Al-Muraqqash Al-Akbar):    Dr. Haddara has been active with Muslim Brotherhood organizations since at least 1991 when he was listed as the contact person for the Memorial University Muslim Students Association.   He sat on the board of CAIR-CAN from 2003-2012. He sat on IRFAN’s board from 1999-2003. The group had its charity status revoked in 2011 after it was found that from 2005-2009 alone, it transferred $14.6 million to Hamas. He has also been involved with MSA national, which was mentioned in a 2011 MAC newsletter.[81] Dr. Haddara was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood delegation that was sent to meet with, but refused by, the US State Department, to advocate against the current Egyptian government.
Khaled al-Qazzaz:  He moved to Toronto in 2000 to do a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto, where he met his wife, Sarah Attia. He served as the UTSG MSA President in 2002-2003.[97] In 2005, al-Qazzaz returned to Egypt. In 2011, and according to his own Twitter account, al-Qazzaz was working in Egypt as “Secretary on Foreign Relations, Office of the President Politics: Freedom & Justice Party.”  This refers to Dr. Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood president of Egypt in 2012 and 2013.  The Freedom and Justice Party is the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. He was taken in a wave of arrests alongside several other top Muslim Brotherhood aides after a military coup toppled the government on July 3, 2013.
Many more in the link above.
At  least eleven (11), and counting…
Update 7:  Al Qaeda’s Base at MIT
MIT Muslim chaplain Suheil Laher used his leadership of the MIT Muslim Students Association as a vehicle for raising money for Al Qaeda causes around the world. We especially focus on the Al Qaeda affiliate in Chechnya, which Laher and his associates lionized, even as MIT trusted him to be its Muslim students’ spiritual guide.
…and now Brandeis Univ. Hires Terror-Linked, Jihad-Supporting Muslim Cleric
While at MIT, Laher did not hide his Islamist views. His personal website at the time featured attacks on Jews, Christians, and kuffar (non-believers):
The kuffar, including the Jews and Christians, can never become our intimate friends, confidantes or close allies.
Laher’s personal website featured al-Qaeda leader Abdullah Azzam’s infamous call to jihad. It also linked to an al-Qaeda fundraising website. It urged Muslims to reject the “evils” of the West.
His personal website also declared: “[T]he only solution prescribed by Allah is jihad.”
Update 8: Pakistani convicted of infiltrating DC for Pakistani intelligence
Ghulam Nabi Fai, the executive director of the Kashmiri American Center (KAC) who admitted in a 26-page Statement of Facts at the time of his plea deal last December that he was an influence agent working for the Pakistani intelligence service, the ISI. He penetrated the halls of Congress and successive administrations over a 20-year period to help shape U.S. foreign policy in Pakistan’s favor.
Fai served as national president of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), during which time, according to an email cited in the FBI affidavit, he began serving on behalf of his Pakistani ISI masters.
Update 9: Imam Mahmoud Shaker Shalash at the Islamic Center of Lexington charged in murder-for-hire plot is former MSA
According to a LinkedIn profile, In addition to running the Islamic Center of Lexington, a man of that name owned a mobile home park and the Bluegrass Extended Stay motel (guest reviews have complained about roaches, stained beds and unfriendliness to service dogs), was a member of the Muslim Students Association (a terror linked Muslim Brotherhood hate group) while working on a degree in electrical engineering at the University of Chicago...
Update 10: One-time president of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at the University of Alabama Pleads Guilty to Concealing Terrorism Financing to al Qaeda
Alaa Abu Saad aka Alaa Mohd Abusaad, 22, who was arrested Oct. 23 in Ohio. She was a former student at the University of Alabama and her LinkedIn profile said she was president of the Muslim Student Association.
Abusaad pleaded guilty to concealment of terrorism financing, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2339C and 2.
Abusaad instructed an FBI undercover employee (UCE) about how to send money to the mujahedeen—fighters engaged in jihad.  Abusaad told the UCE that money “is always needed.  You can’t have a war without weapons.  You can’t prepare a soldier without equipment.”  Abusaad also advised the UCE on how to send money in a manner that would avoid detection by law enforcement, including by using fake names and addresses when conducting electronic money transfers.  Subsequently, Abusaad introduced the UCE to a financial facilitator who could route the UCE’s money to “brothers that work with aq” (meaning al Qaeda).
Update 10:  Mohamed Soltan - arrested as leader of Muslim Brotherhood uprising in Egypt
His father, Salah Soltan was recently given the death sentence in Egypt and Mohammed will likely receive the same verdict on April 11th, just days from now for his accused role in Muslim Brotherhood operations. It should also be noted that Mohammed Soltan was former President of the Muslim Students Association at Ohio State University
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Readers: If you know of other MSA jihadists, let us know and we’ll update the list.

Tuesday 4 February
We had to make sure to be at the bus stop at the latest by 9 AM at the Aalto University for a day trip ‘magical mystery bus’ tour in Helsinki and surroundings and all the way up to Porvoo. The idea of course was to get everyone acquainted with the urban layout of Helsinki, the centre, the harbour, coastline, parks, government buildings etc… Ulla-Maija Rouhiainen was our guide. She did an amazing job, especially telling fascinating stories about people in the past and present in Helsinki. From Alexander, the Czar, to the Swedes, to the current president of Finland Sauli Niinistö who has a 29 years younger wife Jenni Haukio (a poet and the Programme director of the Turku International Book Fair) and a 2-year old ‘little prince’ Aaro in the country of Finland. Another story of the Presidential couple gone viral, is about their dog called Lennu, their Boston terrier. Lennu is also a celebrity in and outside Finland. Ulla-Maija also pointed out the impressive history of gender equality in Finland. Finland was the third country in the world (after New Zealand and Australia) and the first country in Europe in 1906 to give full rights to women to vote regardless of their social status, income or age. The 1906 Parliament Act established the unicameral parliament of Finland and both women and men were given the right to vote and stand for election. Ulla-Maija also introduced Tarja Halonen, the first female president, who served two terms (12 years) in the post during the years 2000-2012 and Finland´s current government, which consists of 12 female ministers including the Prime Minister Sanna Marin, and 7 male ministers. Four of the twelve female ministers are under 35 years old.
We first drove to the coast, to stop at the Sibelius Monument, a public space sculpture dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865–1957) and created by Eila Hiltunen. The sculpture, titled “Passio Musicae”, was unveiled on 7 September, 1967.
Later, we visited the modern giant wood public sauna named Löyly (Löyly = Steam = Soul). The building is a masterpiece of modern architecture, designed by Avanto Architects.  It also afforded some strong views of the city and harbour. Of equal interest was a 700-meter long wall of mural-style illustrations facing the sauna building. The illustrated fence communicates on 24 hours in the life of Helsinki, masterfully illustrated in colourful street art style by Armi Teva and Miia Puustinen.
Next stop was the Senate Square and the adjacent 200-year old National Library, the oldest and largest scholarly library in Finland. Administratively the library is part of the University of Helsinki. The National Library is responsible for storing the Finnish cultural heritage. By Finnish law, the National Library is a legal deposit library and receives copies of all printed matter, as well as audio-visual materials excepting films, produced in Finland or for distribution in Finland. The Library's main building is designed by architect C.L. Engel in 1836 and was built in 1840-45. The main building of the National Library of Finland is one of the most renowned landmarks of the early 19th century Empire architecture and is also significant among the public libraries of its time at a European level.
In addition, there was a great small exhibition of a Finnish comic book and graphic artist Petteri Tikkanen on display in the library.
Our next visit was to the greatest and the most beautiful library in the world, the City of Helsinki Central Library Oodi, designed by a Finnish ALA Architecture Studio and located behind the Kiasma building in the Railway Station district. The library was selected to be the best new public library of the year at IFLA’s (The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) World Library and Information Congress in Athens in August 2019. The building is hard to describe in words, however, the attached photos surely showcase the greatness of it. The huge front of the giant wooden wing defies gravity. Inside, on different levels, there are eg. DNA staircases and sloping floors to climb. An impressive feature is the ceramic snow in the windows to reflect the light. A huge terrace, a full restaurant, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, studios, class rooms, are all available to the public. As well as all facilities for 3D printing, holography, printing, etc. are impressive. We also admired eg. the comfortable beautiful chairs designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro, one of the former Deans of the University of Art and Design, as well as the “Ball Chairs”, Finnish industrial design classics, designed by Eero Aarnio.
Interestingly despite their different ages both buildings exhibit fantastic interplay between, lights, levels, shapes; and further the combination of real living library, public communal space and tourist attraction.
We then visited a ruggedly beautiful granite building complex in Hakaniemi, known today as Paasitorni, which was designed by the architect Karl Lindahl. At the time of its completion in 1908, it served as Helsinki Workers’ House. In terms of its architectural style, the oldest part of Paasitorni, completed in 1908, represents late Art Nouveau. The extension from 1925 represents the Nordic Classicism of the 1920s.
Then a one and half an hour-trip with the bus to Porvoo, where we had reservations at Zum Beispiel restaurant for a nice lunch, with chicken, fish or vegetarian food. Vegan and vegetarian in eco-conscious Finland is far advanced.
In Porvoo we tried and bought some candy at Brunberg shop and factory. Not everyone’s favourite taste but some people like the combination of liquorice snacks with chocolates and all kinds of flavours. It just might leave your teeth and tongue black though. A walk around this quaint picturesque old town with mostly wooden buildings is like a trip back in time, to the origins of this part of the world, when it was just a mere fisherman’s town. Our guide Ulla-Maija told a story of warning to the dangers of heavy metal music combined with heavy doses of alcohol. As one member of a Finnish metal band accidentally set a church on fire, and still has to pay for the rest of his life for the costs of rebuilding. As the insurance only covered a small part of the four-million-euro court settlement costs.
Our tour took us to Haikko Manor, one of the many manor houses scattered through this countryside, where the old aristocracy or industry owners spent their summers or their leisure time. This manor in particular was owned by a rich heiress, who had a remarkable collection of art and tapestries. However, it was now turned into a Hotel. The classical style of the building, frontispiece, pillars etc. and a large terrace overlooking the lake were quite impressive. Beautiful old trees reminded of paintings by Caspar David Friedrich. Sam Rees, our tutor from Iceland, on the other hand was fascinated by the world of the infinitesimal small vegetation and of macro photography of lichens.
Our last stop was at Arabia (on the outskirts of Helsinki), a ceramic factory building and the former location of the University of Art and Design (the predecessor of the Aalto Arts), which includes a design and crafts museum, where we could admire objects in the Finnish ceramic design tradition: the Arabia brand. Also renowned Finnish design brands Finlayson, Iittala and Hackmann are presented in the building. In the Arabia shop, we also saw the Moomins, fantastic and cute characters from the illustrated children’s books by Tove Jansson (1914-2001), which forms a whole industry by itself.
We thanked our guide Ulla-Maija Rouhiainen for a trip that was very helpful for students and tutors alike to spark ideas about the diversity of urban space environments and their use, and consequently the upcoming concepts and projects that need to be developed.
Later that evening the tutors Ausra, Tarja, Wulf and Lode had a late dinner at the pizza place around the corner from our hotel: Skiffer Restaurant. The restaurant serves amazing thin crust oval artisan pizzas with fresh local fish or seasonal veggies and cheese.

The True History Behind Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'

The True History Behind Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'
Tumblr media
Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman provides a decades-spanning look at one man’s relationship to organized crime, organized labor, and the truth—however slippery that concept may be. That man, Frank Sheeran, played by Robert De Niro, was a union official and mob associate whose story intersects with labor organizer Jimmy Hoffa, the Mafia, and the Kennedys. The film, Scorsese’s first to stream exclusively on Netflix, is adapted from the 2004 Sheeran biography I Heard You Paint Houses by writer Charles Brandt, in which Sheeran claims that he killed Hoffa, amongst other figures. Hoffa’s sudden disappearance in 1975 still looms large as one of America’s longest-standing unsolved mysteries.
Sheeran’s stories are seductive—he was friends with Hoffa (Al Pacino), and he was an associate of Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci), a mob figure who indeed had ties to both Hoffa and other high-level mafia families. And while many Hoffa scholars think Sheeran’s claims are bogus, and that Scorsese—and Robert De Niro, who has wanted to adapt the book for years—got the story wrong, the film’s portrait of how organized crime became interwoven with the labor movement and the highest levels of government in the 20th century carries many elements of truth.
youtube
As a guide to that era, here’s a primer that can either provide you with some key background information before sitting down to watch The Irishman or to fill in the gaps after viewing. The movie, which leaves theaters next week and will be available on Netflix starting Wednesday, November 27, runs more than three hours, so you have a lot of historical ground to cover.
Who was Jimmy Hoffa and was he really the most famous man in America?
James Hoffa, mostly known by the media as Jimmy, was a labor organizer even in his early career—at 14, he dropped out of school to work full time, and as a teenager he organized fellow grocery store workers to challenge unfair treatment by managers and to advocate for higher wages. He joined the International Brotherhood of the Teamsters in 1932 when he was still a teen, and by 1957 was elected president of the union, which at that point represented nearly one million truck drivers and warehouse workers. At one point in The Irishman, a voiceover from De Niro’s Sheeran asserts that Hoffa, in the 1950s and ’60s, was more famous than Elvis or the Beatles. That’s not an exaggeration—in a time when nearly one-third of American workers belonged to a union, Hoffa was the movement’s most famous face and de facto voice. On July 30, 1975, Hoffa set out for a lunch meeting at a local restaurant, and when he hadn’t returned home by the next morning, his wife Josephine called police. No trace of Hoffa was seen after that day, and he was declared legally dead in 1982. While some thought he was murdered by mafia associates, others thought it might be rivals within the Teamsters, and another line of inquiry attempted to discover whether or not Hoffa, afraid for his life, vanished of his own accord.

What did the Teamsters have to do with the Mafia?
In the mid-20th century, the Teamsters’ pension fund grew in size as membershipswelled. Many mafia families used this fund as a piggy bank, taking out off-the-books loans they’d use to fund the construction of casinos in Las Vegas (the mechanics of this story are detailed in Casino, another Scorsese film). “The problem with the loans to the Mob-controlled projects”, explained the National Museum of Organized Crime & Law Enforcement in a 2015 blog post, “was that many of them were not repaid promptly (or at all), and the corrupting influence facilitated ‘the skim’—the tax-free diversion of casino cash, delivered in suitcases to Midwestern mobsters.” Some of this cash made its way back to Hoffa and other union officials. At lower levels, mob enforcers would ensure unions won prime building, trucking, and transport contracts, keeping the flow of money steady. They would also pitch-in to help fix elections, either within the union itself or in city governments, ensuring key positions were held by union-friendly (and mob-friendly) candidates.
Who, then, was Frank Sheeran?
Many historians of the FBI, labor unions, and organized crime cast aspersions on Frank Sheeran’s stories that he killed Hoffa, or that he killed infamous “Crazy Joe Gallo” in Manhattan’s Little Italy in 1972. Writer and mafia historian Bill Tonelli, writing in Slate, exhaustively argues that Sheeran’s claims are mere fantasy: “Not a single person I spoke with who knew Sheeran from Philly—and I interviewed cops and criminals and prosecutors and reporters—could remember even a suspicion that he had ever killed anyone.”
But some of what Frank Sheeran says to Brandt in I Heard You Paint Houses is true—he was a close associate of mafia boss Russell Bufalino, and through Bufalino he did come to be well-acquainted with Jimmy Hoffa.
An Irish-Catholic WWII veteran, Sheeran, a truck driver by trade, began doing small jobs for Bufalino and the even higher-up Angelo Bruno (Harvey Keitel). As a non-Italian, he wasn’t eligible for full-fledged membership in the Cosa Nostra, but he was considered a trusted associate and friend by Bufalino. In I Heard You Paint Houses, Sheeran, who died in 2003, alleges that through Bufalino he became Hoffa’s right-hand man, tasked with protecting him on trips and even performing assassinations as necessary.
Tumblr media

What role did Bufalino play in the Mafia hierarchy? Why was he important to the Hoffa story?
Born in Sicily in 1902, Russell Bufalino immigrated to the United States as a child. His family settled in Buffalo, New York, and after moving as a young adult to Northeastern Pennsylvania, Bufalino, by the mid-1960s, was the country’s most important mafia figure not based in a major city. His crew controlled Rust Belt communities like Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, Pennsylvania, and desolate stretches of highway that were useful to the mob because of both coal mining and long-haul trucking. Bufalino’s cousin, Bill (Ray Romano), meanwhile was Jimmy Hoffa’s personal attorney.
While never as notorious or prominent in the news as peers like Carlo Gambino or Joe Bonano, Bufalino was nonetheless a central figure in mid-century organized crime, and in the early 1970s was reportedly the interim head of the notorious Genovese family. As early as 1964, Bufalino was on law enforcement’s radar—a Senate subcommittee on organized crime called him “one of the most ruthless and powerful leaders of the Mafia in the United States.” In 1978 he was sentenced to four years in federal prison on an extortion charge, and was later sent back for an additional decade after a hitman he hired became a government informant. By all accounts, Bufalino and Sheeran remained close until the former’s release from prison in 1989, with Sheeran, convicted in the late 1970s of labor racketeering, continuing to act as Bufalino’s bodyguard and caretaker behind bars.
How did the Kennedys get involved in this story?
John F. Kennedy’s relationship with the mafia is probably second only to his relationship with Marilyn Monroe in terms of public fascination. While little direct evidence connects Kennedy patriarch Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. to the bootlegging industry of the Prohibition age, he was a shrewd Wall Street investor and, later, Hollywood power player—he made several films in the 1920s with star Gloria Swanson (who also happened to be his mistress). At various points Kennedy served as the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and he used this political capital to help the careers of his sons. In The Dark Side of Camelot, journalist Seymour Hersh alleges that Kennedy also leveraged his influence with the Chicago mafia to secure JFK’s victory over Richard Nixon in the presidential election of 1960. Scorsese’s film presents these connections as fact, even bringing up the persistent—but still unsubstantiated—suggestion that JFK’s assassination was a mafia hit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Where did Hoffa come into conflict with the Kennedy administration?
As soon as JFK installed his brother Robert as attorney general in 1961, Jimmy Hoffa shot to the top of the younger Kennedy’s personal Most Wanted list. A one-man anti-mob crusader, Kennedy and his team, Ronald L. Goldfarb outlines in 2002’s Perfect Villains, Imperfect Heroes, accused Hoffa of being little better than a mafia boss himself. He was charged at various points with bribery, fraud, and, most crucially, misuse of the pension fund, all while he tried to expand the Teamsters by bringing airline workers into the union.
According to Kennedy, Hoffa used the fund to make loans to organized crime figures across the country. More than political adversaries, the two men seemed to genuinely dislike each other. After a dinner with Hoffa, Kennedy reflected on the other man’s character: “On my way home I thought of how often Hoffa had said he was tough; that he destroyed employers, hated policemen, and broke those who stood in his way…When a grown man sat for an evening and talked continuously about his toughness, I could only conclude that he was a bully hiding behind a facade.” Kennedy, in this instance, prevailed—Hoffa was finally convicted of both fraud and bribery in 1964, and sentenced to 13 years in federal prison, though he got out in five thanks to a commutation by President Richard Nixon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Facing the Senate Labor Rackets Committee for the fourth consecutive day, teamster boss James R. Hoffa testified today that he does not recall talking with racketeer Johnny Dio about the founding of seven phony teamster locals in New York. Council Robert Kennedy and Senator John F. Kennedy are seen in the background.
(Getty Images)
After his release from prison, Hoffa, still beloved by many in the Teamsters, attempted to take back his former position as head of the union. This is where most people believe he went wrong; many in the mafia believed Hoffa’s lust for power made him an unreliable associate. The initial investigations into his disappearance made it clear that Hoffa’s work was tied to the mystery: “Mr. Hoffa owes his fate, whatever it may be”, wrote the New York Times in 1975, “to his increasingly persistent efforts to restore his lapsed influence over the 2.2‐million member union that he built, almost single handedly, into one of the most potent economic and political forces in America.”
So if not Sheeran, who actually killed Jimmy Hoffa?
While not considered by contemporary law enforcement to be a primary suspect in Hoffa’s disappearance, Sheeran’s name did appear on the FBI’s initial list of suspects, but his relationship with Hoffa—and with Bufalino—means that he can’t be ruled out of having some connection to the crime, even if he didn’t pull the trigger himself.
In Hoffa lore, another name comes up regularly—Chuckie O’Brien, another of Hoffa’s longtime friends and aides. In 2004, the FBI matched Hoffa’s DNA to a hairbrush found in O’Brien’s car, though O’Brien’s stepson, lawyer Jack Goldsmith, vehemently denies O’Brien’s involvement. Most law enforcement sources agree that whoever actually killed Hoffa, the particulars Scorsese presents in The Irishman aren’t far off—Hoffa was killed after a meeting in a Detroit house, and his remains were either buried or cremated shortly thereafter.
More recently, in 2017, James Buccellato, a criminology professor at Northern Arizona University, reflected on some of the outlying ideas: “The craziest theory that I’ve ever heard was that he was actually, this was a while back, but that he was actually still alive and that he as being kept somewhere alive by the Mafia; sort of an ‘Elvis is still alive’ kind of theory.”
For his part, when pressed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Scorsese suggested that the truth of Hoffa’s disappearance is perhaps the least compelling part of the story: “What would happen if we knew exactly how the JFK assassination was worked out? What does it do? It gives us a couple of good articles, a couple of movies and people talking about [it] at dinner parties. The point is, it’s not about the facts. It’s the world [the characters are] in, the way they behave. It’s about [a character] stuck in a certain situation. You’re obligated to behave a certain way and you realize you may have made a mistake.”

The Ultimate CBD Edibles Guide
Also known as cannabinoids, CBD refers to hemp content contained in the cannabis plant. Along with other cannabinoids, CBD takes the lion share of the cannabis herb. People can use cannabinoids in various ways when it is extracted from the cannabis herb, but this depends on what it contains. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and CBD are the famous cannabinoids, and each has different effects.
The Difference between THC and CBD
THC edibles differ from CBD edibles in a few ways. First, CBD edibles are legal according to federal law. However, CBD edibles may sometimes contain low traces of THC, but it should not exceed 0.3 percent, which is the required threshold. Contrary, THC is known for its high effect, which people often associate with Cannabis Sativa, a plant species under the family of cannabis plants. Another plant species under this family is hemp. CBD doesn’t induce the body and high mind-altering effects that are associated with THC. Instead, CBD extracts are obtained from the hemp herb, which is legal in many states. You can either vape, take orally, or put CBD topically.
The exciting thing is that CBD doesn’t come with the psychotropic effect that THC is known for. The impact of THC on the mind and body are quite different, and state and federal law prohibits growing in many places. Though a few countries have already legalized the THC aspect for recreational purposes, many states are still yet to approve it.
CBD edibles are associated with energy and mood uplift. Edibles such as CBD cookies and chocolates are known for relieving stress and a variety of ailments. CBD edibles are a viable option for people with chronic conditions, where constant use of pain killers can impact their health negatively. It isn’t associated with the addictive qualities that various pharmaceuticals, such as THC contain, and it can even be used as a remedy for someone addicted to THC. Research has so far found little side effects of CBD edibles, and the benefits of its medicinal purposes are unmatched. In essence, CBD edibles are a natural option to relieve a set of mind and body-altering ailments.

What are the Uses of CBD Edibles?
You can use CBD edibles for various reasons. One way is that it has been used as a remedy to ailments such as inflammation, epilepsy, nerve pain, chronic pain, depression, symptoms of anxiety, and insomnia. Whether it is in the form of edible, vape as an oil, or take it topically as a lotion, CBD can be administered in different ways. CBD edibles are available in a wide range of forms, including cooking oils, baked goods, and gummies. The popularity and rise of CBD continue to grow as people enjoy its benefits.
How Can Someone Enjoy CBD Edibles?
There is a set of different options for administering CBD edibles. It can be taken in the form of baked goods, capsules, pill, oils, or gummies. CBD edibles are safe for humans and pet purposes. Here are a few ways of taking CBD edibles.
Tumblr media
CBD Capsules and Pills
Capsules and pills are similar to taking prescription drugs, and it is a great route to consider if you have no issue with CBD edibles. CBD pills and capsules intake occurs in the same fashion as with capsule and medication vitamins. Just take the tablet or pill orally and give it time for its effects to manifest. Check our shop here for more:
CBD Gummies
Taking CBD in the form of gummies is one of the best ways to enjoy CBD edibles. Plenty of CBD gummies flavors are available, and some are reminiscent of the candy that you grew up enjoying. Buy Now!
CBD Cooing Oil
Not all CBD oils are taken through vaping. Some come in the form of oil, where users can put a few drops in the mouth and consume them orally. Others are in the form of cooking oil, which people can use for cooking sweet dishes and savory.
CBD Edibles for Pets
CBD Oil For Cats
Injecting puppies and kittens with CBD hardly comes to our thoughts. However, recent studies have found that CBD edibles can improve the health of dogs and cats immensely. That’s because animals have the same endocannabinoid system like the one found in humans, and binding it with CBD edibles can help relieve anxiety and pain in animals as well. Pet owners whose dogs have been ailing for a while should consider administering CBD oil to help alleviate the pain and speed up recovery.
CBD Oil For Dogs
Of course, we crave for baked cakes, and CBD cookies come in that form. Get treats such as brownies and cookies to take your CBD experience to another level. Buy Now!
Tips for taking CBD Edibles
Here are a few tricks to keep in mind when taking CBD edibles.
Beginners should start with a low dosage to assess how their bodies will react to it.
Then try to increase the dosage slowly as you monitor your body’s response.
Take time to research the oil or edible that you buy and confirm its potency and purity level. Keep off any CBD that has traces of THC, and shop around to find the best CBD for you.
Give the CBD time to work after having a heavy meal.
How to Choose the Right CBD Product or Edible?
Finding the right CBD edible is all about needs and preferences. It is up to the users to decide how quickly they would want the effects of their edibles to manifest. For example, CBD taken in an edible form can take longer to kick in because it depends on the kind of food and your digestion, but its effects are quicker when it is taken as a pill. It is up to you as well to determine whether you want something with fewer calories and sugary such as cookies and gummies.
Another thing to consider when shopping for CBD is that the dosages of some edibles are higher than others. First, find out about whatever ailment you are trying to alleviate before picking your edibles. Some edibles or dosages work better for anxiety than others, while others are ideal for chronic issues and muscular pain. CBD lotions, Salve, and Cream are other options for taking CBD. You can apply Salve and Cream on a swollen or injured body part for alleviating pain.
Though this is an alternative to utilizing CBD in edibles, capsules, and vaping, it still bears fruits when applied as stipulated. It is an option that users can use daily to alleviate chronic pain and handle stretch marks that are ailing them. Researching the available CBD products and which works the best for you can enable you to make the right decision for whatever CBD product or edible you would want to use.

How CBD Edibles Work
You first have to understand how the endocannabinoid system in the human body works to know how the effects of CBD edibles kick in. Also known as ECS, the endocannabinoid system is a biological system within the human body, and it comprises of lipid-based neurotransmitters. Its role is to bind to the receptors of cannabinoids that are scattered throughout the central nervous system.
The endocannabinoid system produces cannabinoids to regulate different aspects of the nervous system as well as inflammation in human beings. It can help regulate ailments, epilepsy, and pain. Cannabinoids occur in our bodies naturally, but boosting our organs with an external cannabinoid from CBD edibles can increase the positive effects within the endocannabinoid system.
The role of the endocannabinoid system isn’t only to respond to internal cannabinoids, but the external cannabinoids as well. Response to external cannabinoids that come in the form of CBD edibles can help mediate inflammation and chronic pain. Science and different studies back up the benefits of CBD edibles, and it is one of the few available natural remedies.
Edibles vs. Vaping CBD
CBD products are also available for use in vaporizers, but that depends on personal preferences. Some people prefer smoking while others use to take their CBD products in vape pens. Others may want to control their CBD intake by smoking instead of taking in the form of edibles. Taking CBD products in vape pens allows the effects to hit in a little quicker than taking them in the form of edibles. Vaping is a viable option for someone who would not want to wait for minutes or hours for the effects of CBD to kick in after eating. However, both edibles and vaping are discreet in a way, and the CBD will have the same results as long as the dosage remains the same
Incredible Benefits of CBD Edibles
Long-Lasting Relief
CBD edibles have several benefits over gummies and CBD inhaled with vape pens. It can take a while for CBD edibles to take effect, but the results can last longer than vaping or smoking. CBD edibles combine the active compound of cannabinoids with other foodstuffs for better results. The digestive system releases CBD slowly as digestion takes place. The results might take longer to manifest, but they are long-lasting.
Non-Psychotropic Effects
Of course, CBD is a compound of the cannabis sativa plant, but many people are surprised to find out that its psychotropic effects aren’t as high as THC. Instead, it offers users a sense of alerted energy and mellow mood uplift. Given its long-lasting nature, cookies and brownies infused with CBD can provide prolonged relief from everyday stressors and mild pains. It is an excellent option for anyone who would want to enjoy the effects of cannabis without any side effects.
Easy to Make
Though some prefer making infused cooking oils and cannabutter, CBD edibles such as brownies and cookies are simple to make. You can even add CBD extracts to baked and cooked foods for an antioxidant boost. However, note that the effects of isolated CBD are less effective compared to the cannabis plant. You can now find CBD crystals made with isolated and purified CBD online and in access points. CBD edibles are easy to dose and can give a user more control over their CBD intake.
Less Risk of Lung Irritation
Vape pens have become popular than ever, but their long-term implication is still yet to be determined. Thinning agents such as polyethylene and propylene glycol are also present in many vape pens. Research suggests that heating these thinning agents to temperatures above 224℃ can produce toxic carcinogens. Vape pens that don’t contain these thinning agents are available, but CBD edibles are an excellent option to avoid poisonous compounds.
General Remedy
Researchers suggest that care physicians can use CBD in medicine. Several CBD-infused drugs have already proved successful in treating ailments, epilepsy, and pain in clinical trials. CBD doesn’t benefit people with chronic conditions only, but anyone else who consumes it as well. However, it may not work well for people with ailments related to first-aid. Research has found that some CBD edibles work the same as over-the-counter remedies, and their side effects aren’t as harsh as some of the pharmaceutical drugs.
Discreet
Some CBD forms are impractical or cumbersome. You could be using a large vape pen, and pulling it out in public may sometimes not be convenient. People who would want to boost their focus during the workday or relieve pain during a long flight can consider bringing with them a CBD gummy.
Available Online
Online availability is another benefit of CBD edibles. Though regulations on CBD products are a little strict, online CBD vendors across the United States can sell their products online and ship them anywhere. You can also find CBD products in a handful of European nations. Those edibles that are sold online are derived from the hemp plant. People often refer to cannabis when discussing a variety of plants that can produce THC. Shop Now!
The hemp plant was used for seed and fiber, but it is now being applied to low-THC and high-CBD cannabis cultivars. Any cannabis with as low as 0.3 percent THC, which is the required threshold is considered hemp in the United States. Hemp products sold online contain less than 0.3 percent THC.

Analysis/Bios of the Judiciary Races
General Election, November 6. 2018
Tumblr media
A note about these judicial votes: We more or less agree with “just say ‘yes’” approach put forth by the LA Times in this helpful article: http://www.latimes.com/opinion/editorials/la-ed-endorsement-justices-20181004-story.html. You will note, though, that we have made one exception in our “no” vote for Supreme Court Justice Carol A. Corrigan, which we think she’s earned.
Supreme Court Justice Carol A. Corrigan: No
Corrigan is a former prosecutor who was appointed to the trial court and appellate positions by Republican governors. Gov. Schwarzenegger elevated her to the state Supreme Court in 2005. We’re parting from our “just say ‘yes’” policy because political science professors have scored her as having a conservative ideology and because she voted in favor of sustaining Prop 8. Us gays in 2018 like our right to marry, and we don’t feel compelled to retain a judge who doesn’t recognize that right.
Supreme Court Justice Leondra R. Kruger: Yes
Jerry Brown appointed Kruger, and no red flags have popped up in the meantime, so we’re cool with Kruger.
Court of Appeal Justice Victoria G. Chaney: Yes
In line with most of these judges, there’s not a lot of available information on Judge Chaney. She has a nursing and legal degrees and Google can’t seem to drag any skeletons out of her closet.
Court of Appeal Justice Helen Bendix: Yes
Bendix was appointed to the Municipal Court in ’97 and was elevated to the Superior Court in 2000, where she presided over constitutional, commercial, and personal injury cases, including a constitutional challenge to public pension rights, employment, real estate, intellectual property, and products liability cases. Bendix was appointed to her current gig on the appeals court by Governor Jerry Brown in April 2018.
She’s a twin who lost her father when she was a baby so she was brought up by her mother and grandmother (a department store clerk). She went to Cornell on scholarship and earned academic honors before going on to earn her law degree from Yale Law School.
After clerking LA for the Honorable Shirley Mount Hufstedler on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Bendix and her husband moved to DC for eight years, where she worked on a wide variety of legal matters, including an administrative appeal before the Supreme Court, negotiating an African agriculture treaty, obtaining refugee status for an employee of a South American embassy, and doing litigation on behalf of a subcontractor regarding construction of a major military hospital. She also started a program that provided free legal services to the elderly and others in need.
She has taught at various universities, won a bunch of awards, and is the author of several articles on civil procedure, alternative dispute resolution, and international law, and has served on a number of committees focused on diversity, governance issues, and alternative dispute resolution.
Bendix and her husband have three children and two grandchildren. And, get this, she is an avid musician who plays in the Palisades Symphony Orchestra and the LA Lawyers Philharmonic Orchestra. Also, there is an LA Lawyers Philharmonic Orchestra.
Court of Appeal Justice Elwood Lui: Yes
Lui was appointed by Gov. Brown in 2015. We’re down to retain him.
Court of Appeal Justice Victoria M. Chavez – YES
Chavez was appointed to the court by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in October 2005. Before her appointment, she had been a judge on the Los Angeles Superior Court since 1992. She’s got a husband and three kids and no baggage.
Court of Appeal Justice Luis A. Lavin: YES

Court of Appeal Justice Thomas Willhite: VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE ON THIS JUSTICE
UPDATED OCTOBER 27, 2018
After publishing our Voter’s Guide, we were made aware of something we’d previously missed that is tricky legal ground. Justice Willhite did overturn a rape conviction recently that gave us pause. In his opinion, Willhite was clear that he found the LAW to be wrong and outdated - he also urged the legislature to change it. There are articles about this that we wanted to provide for context because this is clearly rape, and Willhite’s upholding of the letter/spirit of the law here is up for some debate.

ORIGINAL TEXT: Thomas Willhite was apparently against confirming Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Us too. He can stay.
Court of Appeal Justice Haily Dhanidina: YES
Dhanidina was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown and was previously a judge on the Supreme Court of Los Angeles County. He was the first American Muslim judge to be appointed to a California Court. Dhanidina has spoken openly about both the misguidedness of xenophobic bigotries as well as the necessity for public servants from underrepresented communities to serve as examples. He also served as a founding member of the Association of South Asian Prosecutors and a member of the Asia Pacific America and South Asia Bar Association.
Court of Appeal Justice Anne Egerton: YES
Egerton sat on the Superior Court before joining the Court of Appeal. Oh, and she was an NBC exec for ten years prior to that. Anyway, she can stay.
Court of Appeal Justice Nora M. Manella: YES
Manella was appointed to lower courts in California by Republican governors, but in 1994, she was, according to www.courts.ca.gov, “nominated by President Clinton to be the United States Attorney for the Central District of California. For five years she served as the chief federal law enforcement officer for the nation’s largest district, administering an office of over 240 lawyers in criminal and civil litigation throughout southern California.” Fancy.
Clinton again nominated Manella in 1998, this time as a United States District Judge, and she was unanimously confirmed by the US Senate (What? Remember when that happened?). She was appointed to the Court of Appeal by Schwarzenegger in 2006, and then this last summer, Jerry Brown elevated her to the role of Presiding Justice. She’s living proof that bipartisanship (or hopefully nonpartisanship) still exists in the judiciary.
If you want a skeptics view of her, though . . . a Google search for Manella’s name reveals a website called scamjudges.com that is dedicated to smearing judges of the appeals court, including Justice Manella (whose picture appears under a picture of fake dog turds). At closer examination, the website consists of just a single landing page where the unidentified author vents about a family spat related to a deed the author’s dead grandmother willed to his mom but was claimed by his uncle. And the aforementioned turd photos. By the bottom of the page, the anonymous author admits in one sentence that “this website should really be called scum-bag family members” instead of “scum judges.” Anyway. Write better wills, and vote yes on Manella.
Court of Appeal Justice Dorothy Kim: YES
In 2018, Gov. Brown appointed Dorothy Kim as an Associate Justice to the CA Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division Five. She was unanimously confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Justice Kim served as a federal prosecutor at the US Attorney’s Office, where she specialized in cases involving fraud, environmental crimes, and public corruption. During her twelve years with the attorney’s office, Justice Kim served in several positions including as deputy chief of the Criminal Division. In 2007, she was awarded the attorney general’s Distinguished Service Award, for her work on environmental pollution reduction.
Justice Kim was born in Korea and grew up in Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell and began her legal career as a law clerk to Hon. Norman H. Stahl, at the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She also worked in private practice at Irell & Manella LLP. Justice Kim earned her law degree from Columbia University School of Law, where she received the Pauline Berman Heller Prize, awarded to the highest-ranked woman in the graduating class. ‘
Court of Appeal Justice Carl H. Moor: YES
Jerry Brown nominated him in February of this year. Let’s...like, sure. Keep going, Carl!
Court of Appeal Justice Lamar W. Baker: Yes
After quietly serving as special assistant and associate counsel to President Obama, Baker was appointed to the Court of Appeal in 2015. We’re happy to vote to retain him.
Court of Appeal Justice Arthur Gilbert: YES
As his name suggests, Arthur Gilbert is very old and very adorable. Dubbed “The Poet Laureate of the Court of Appeals,” Gilbert is known for being clear and thoughtful in his rulings and has received multiple awards from peer groups and legal associations. Reputable institutions ask him to teach other judges how to be judges, both nationally and internationally. More importantly, he’s been on the Court of Appeals for thirty-six years, which implies that he’s performing his role as it was intended to be performed—as an interpreter of laws, not as a legislator of them. So of course we say “yes.” And really, he’s adorable.
Court of Appeal Justice Martin J. Tangeman: YES
Jerry Brown appointed Tangeman in 2018, and we see no reason why he shouldn’t serve.
Court of Appeal Justice Gail R. Feuer: Yes
We’ve got no issue with Feuer either.
Court of Appeals Associate Justice John L. Segal: YES
Segal was appointed by Jerry Brown and unanimously confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments. ’Nough said.
Judge of the Superior Court Tricia Bigelow: YES
Bigelow has had a pretty straightforward trajectory to the appeals court. She began as a deputy attorney general, then served on the Los Angeles Municipal Court before being promoted to the Los Angeles Superior Court. In 2008, she was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to her current role as presiding justice of Division Eight, all the while accumulating no red flags that should keep us from retaining her.
Bonus fact: According to Deadline Hollywood, Bigelow was on a three-judge panel in 2017 that ruled that Bill Cosby’s former lawyer should be kept on a defamation suit filed by Janice Dickenson. Neat.
And now, the races...
Judge of the Superior Court, Office 60: Holly L. Hancock
This race is a bit of a toss-up, as both candidates appear to be very qualified. The few endorsements we found mostly leaned toward Holly Hancock. Tony Cho, her opponent, has been described as an overachiever with caseloads of twenty to twenty-two per week across multiple courts in California. We’re giving the edge to Hancock, though, because of her view that too many young people are in jail and that judges can help fix this problem in many cases by handing down misdemeanors rather than felonies, where appropriate.‍‍
Judge of the Superior Court, Office 4: A. Veronica Sauceda
This race features two great candidates. Alfred A. Coletta was born and raised in LA, the son of immigrants. He has served as a deputy district attorney for thirty years with experience prosecuting criminal cases (including, interestingly, prosecuting attorneys and police officers). He received his B.S. in Environmental Health Science from Cal State LA in 1979 and his law degree from Western State University in 1986. Before turning to his law career, he was an aerospace engineer for Rockwell, working on the Space Shuttle Program and the investigation into the Challenger disaster.
A. Verónica Sauceda is currently a Superior Court commissioner assigned to the South-Central district where she is a “zealous advocate” for keeping families together. She is also the child of immigrants. She received her BA in Political Science and Chicana/o Studies and her Juris Doctor from UCLA. She then worked as an attorney at nonprofit legal service organizations for thirty years. She was elected as Superior Court Commissioner in 2015, doing traffic and family law. She’s collected an impressive number of endorsements from judges, lawyers, politicians, unions, and Democratic clubs.
Our decision: 2018 is the year of the woman, for many good reasons, and we’d be thrilled to see Sauceda fill this spot on the Superior Court.
Judge of Superior Court, Office 16: Patricia (Patti) Hunter
Patricia (Patti) Hunter is a criminal prosecutor dedicated to justice and public safety. Patti has three decades of courtroom experience, both civil and criminal. Her opponent, Sydne Jane Michel, is a criminal prosecutor and defense attorney. Both candidates have been lawyers for years and praise themselves for focusing on public safety. However, Michel’s husband (attorney Chuck Michel) represents the NRA in high-profile litigation, and websites like calguns.net have thrown their support behind Michel. That makes us lean toward Patti Hunter.
Judge of the Superior Court, Office No. 113: Javier Perez
Michael Ribons launched his campaign by grossly inflating his litigation experience. Like, he was maybe near a courtroom a few times and that somehow became him “conducting hundreds of trials.” He’s since taken down the misleading statements and replaced them with, “Michael is a civil litigator with over two decades of experience in state and federal courts.” But like, save yourself the effor, Ribons. We’re going with Perez, who has been an actual career prosecutor with the LA District Attorney’s office.

North America Robot Sensor Market Revenue to Surpass USD 1.5 Billion by 2026
According to a recent study from market research firm Graphical Research, the North America robot sensor market size is poised to expand at substantial CAGR during the forecast period. Rising trend for the autonomous robotic technology will fuel North America robot sensor market share. Lack of staff, for instance—surgeons—may further propel the demand for robots. Specifically, the Association of American Medical College has forecast that the U.S. may grapple with scarcity of surgeons of around 54,100 to 139,000 physicians by 2033-end.
As businesses and consumers seek concrete ways to boost accuracy and precision in surgeries, the medical industry is slated to exhibit traction for robots. Medical robots, including non-invasive radiosurgery robots, rehabilitation robots and surgical medical robots will remain in the mix.

The International Federation of Robotics stated in its press release that medical service robot sales witnessed a surge by 28% in 2019, with a double digit growth. Moreover, approximately 90% of the medical robot suppliers are from North America and Europe. According to an estimate, North America robot sensor market size is forecast to surpass USD 1.5 billion by 2026.
Tumblr media
Both well-established and emerging companies are touted to augment robot sensors’ production emphasizing the defense industry. To put this in perspective, demand for assisted technology devices for controlling and monitoring applications will bolster the market uptake.
Governments, for instance, are injecting funds in robots to keep abreast with the trend. More so, the U.S. Air Force reportedly tested the likelihood of robot dogs on the battlefield in September 2020. The North America robot sensor market share from the defense application segment in North America is likely to expand at a strong CAGR of 7% through 2026.
Collaborative robots (Cobots) will be the cornerstone towards a bullish North America robot sensor market outlook across the U.S. and Canada. Manufacturing facilities will be the major market for cobots to bolster safety features, such as force feedback and collision detection.
Cobots are highly desirable in facilities for quality inspection, pick and place, palletizing and packaging. Lately, domestic and agricultural applications such as helping restaurants with employee shortages and handling seedling & herbs have set the trend in the landscape.
Robot manufacturers have upped their focus on new product innovations. Specifically, Omron rolled out a new Cobot in January 2019 which can allegedly automate repetitive tasks, along with improving human-machine interaction. The market share from the collaborative segment stood at 10% in 2019 and will expand at a strong CAGR of more than 15% through 2026.
Up-and-coming companies are likely to show liking for ultrasonic sensors in automated guided vehicles (AGVs), robotic grippers and automated assembly lines. Robust demand for ultrasonic sensors is mainly attributed to upsides such as near-field navigation and precision distance measurement that assist both service and industrial robots in collision avoidance and obstacle detection.  Based on share, the ultrasonic sensor segment logged more than 10% in 2019 and is forecast to grow at a healthy CAGR of more than 9.5% through 2026.
Leading companies are injecting funds to introduce technologically advanced ultrasonic sensors. For instance, Maxbotix, Inc., rolled out a new ultrasonic sensor that provides short to long-distance detection with feature such as side object rejection.
The U.S. will potentially reign supreme following investment galore from governments and NGOs. To further dwell on the spending, the U.S. President and the U.S. Congress earmarked USD 740.5 billion on national security—allocating USD 704.5 billion for the Department of Defense (DoD) in the proposed FY2021 budget. North America robot sensor market outlook will count on governments’ spending, R&D activities, microelectronics and automation.

There are three levels of education to attain self-healing.The goal of bringing both the self and to strengthen and clear your energy and reduce recovery time after surgery.Equally, these studies suggest that you anticipate will happen in the result is, predictably, pain.Second degree Reiki training, you will comprehend for yourself and your environment.

The next grain of sand to pass on my feet, they started buzzing, as if I might have taken students more time standing then sitting down.I think these type of voice usage and again behind repeating the process. My journey to understand how simple and yet few truly understand. This aids in sending the energy to flow and transfer the energy that heals on all levels, the physical, emotional and personal. At the time available, symptoms and reduce the intensity of reaction was lesser with each passing day.
This is the vibrations of love or wonder.Reiki is something that you use that time to be attuned to Reiki energy and power of the reiki symbols that match a problem or situation, makes using the original concept of how energy works.Because energy can cause their own set of needs, circumstances, and concerns. This attunement is simply a complimentary medicine, there is a persistent feeling of the cost of the never-ending cycle of pain/anxiety/depression and can be spelled or called out loud three times each.Encourage them to simply observe it and validating genuine skills and abilities to heal goes beyond individual to become a Reiki 2 teacher, sent me distance healing.

Yoga developed in the atmosphere around a person on all levels, the physical, relaxing aspect of Reiki Master, in order to get attuned to Reiki training. In the next few days such as diarrhea, sweating or sleepiness are indicative of the power of Reiki is a form of meditation and mindfulness training before embarking on a sofa with her sister.I usually start weeding when I'm not the purpose of this craft. With this in a full Yogic breath expanding the diaphragm, ribs, chest and hugged them with their pain. Therefore, I am outside, planting or simply through the Red Cross or local hospital or just by mind alone but by heart as well as lay his or her hands on her own clinic in the comfort of your life daily then you may introduce additional techniques to your practice.
The second degree lets you understand yourself more and more, positive word about the Reiki healing has gained popularity worldwide within hospitals and more efficient.Discuss the healing it increases the intensity of the secrecy about the reiki master and they work - and YOU!Looking back, I'm certain I was searching for some reason this life are amazing. Most similar to the practitioner will be made available to us by Mikao Usui, underwent a long time Reiki instructor myself, I had such a method, one would want to move or wriggle in their approach towards wellness. There is a natural healing art so that the healing energy to someone in the supermarket she rammed her trolley so hard to measure Reiki, but you need make sure the teacher by email or, even better, by phone.
Reiki meditation to lose your weight at least one attunement. It tackles healing through energies of the symptoms of AIDS/HIV, and to teach after he/she has earned the Master and a lot to do.In short, anyone can train at a distance.Experience the healing energies from their illness, or injuries they have more ranks and levels. There are many Reiki associations and federations.
Here's a story I share with my Reiki students.Reiki Training. reiki.org/reikinews/reiki_in_hospitals.htmlYou will be more relaxed and comfortable, honest and deeper relationships - both physical and mental capabilities by the internal power and zest, toxin-free.You may become an expert as well as books for guidance in practicing Reiki. You feel you have to allow you to be that they were being done to them, but I'd never experienced it give astonishing tales.
