SRW is such a funny thing for me to think about cause it’s like “wow a trpg game that’s been ongoing for decades that really encapsulates how huge and significant mecha is to japan by having every and all mecha been featured in this giant crossover that also has really cool attack animations that replicate the shows they’re from well, with new original content for some shows sprinkled in as well” at first glance then I proceed to be salty by going “oh wait the main show I like in here is only ever used for one iteration which they end up butchering and all the other mechas I’ve liked have shown up maybe once because I’ve liked the ones that had to flop in Japan- also this game caused tags to be unnecessarily filled with crossovers and people acting like they know a series just because it was in SRW thanks I hate it” and this cycle is only a constant because I haven’t actually played a SRW besides 30s demo for a bit 💀
#meg text#mecha rambles#super robot wars#SRW#I could never hate SRW just because it doesn’t give me what I want-that’s petty-and overall I’m sure it’s a fun time#but man does it suck to remember how getter is one of the big 3 but SRW fumbles using it despite the potential#I think it’s stupid to hate arma for SRW or merch but it’s absolutely overstayed it’s welcome SRW wise#because they aren’t even doing anything interesting with it which is PAINFUL because GO TEAM IS RIGHT THERE#you are sleeping on the potential of go team actually interacting with senior team more#because that is armas probably biggest missed opportunity especially regarding Kei#but let’s just pretend go team hardly is significant even though their MORE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS#(this in general will always bother the SHIT out of me with how arma is marketed even if I sadly know why)#”first protag is more remembered/liked” which is a constant pain in my side 💀#I feel like I’ve ranted about this tags before and getter wasn’t even why I made this post but whatever#the real reason I made this was because my big o brain rot got me like “wow this could be so cool to see in SRW again”#only to remember it flopped in Japan so they don’t want to use it#same deal as to why shin Jeeg never gets fucking used#I should at the very least be happy these two are at least owned by companies who do a lot of mecha stuff#so getting them in if they did isn’t a jumping through hoops risk#but at the same time “man if I ever wanna a crossover with these I’d have to write it myself”#”and I don’t wanna do that because all the tags already have too many SRW crossovers”#(I say as I have a idea I might do but shhhhhhhhhh)#maybe one day big o and Jeeg will come back but I doubt they’ll interact with getter because they’re completely different#despite their being SHARED aspects that someone else could totally like all 3 for that same reason

a not-insignificant number of my classmates seem to use chatbots for basically every interaction including discussion post responses which i have more appreciation for because they're just performing the socially/economically mandated thing of paying for access to more money later. but i do think it's funny that both sides of the teacher/student dynamic are being handled increasingly by robots. eventually we can automate the whole experience, cut out the middleman and let kids pay like 10-100 grand or whatever up front to immediately get the certificate that says they're allowed to be middle management at applebees or a social media coordinator or market opportunities optimization technician or whatever. there could maybe be a video that plays some kind of rube goldberg esque graphical representation of machines interacting with one another for a little bit before it squirts out the degree. and so on

The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies: A List of Small Business Ideas
With the recent announcement of the Businesses & Hobbies expansion pack, we'll be able to run small business on both residential lots or their 'community' lots.
On these lots, you'll be able to charge an entrance or hourly fee, sell items and encourage certain behaviours and actions.
I'm trying to create a list of ideas for different small businesses that it's possible to create, using different content from various other packs. Hopefully it will inspire you once we're able to use the pack!
I've tried to avoid any types of retail space/store, as that would make the list even longer! (Plus I'm not sure how they'll interact with Get to Work.) They're in no particular order, just as I thought of them.

Love The Sinner | Dexter Morgan
Tumblr media
Dexter Morgan, a vigilante serial killer hiding in plain sight, loses sleep for the first time in his life when he’s met with the very last thing he expected: a kindred spirit.
Warnings: Violence. Mature language and themes. Sexual content.
Part One. Eyes of Darkness.
Most people, when they’re getting arrested, shit their pants with fear. Some scream, some cry. Some rage, and some try to run, and some just freeze. That’s what you usually see, when you’re in your parents’ living room, and your dad can’t wait to turn on the TV to the channel dickety-six news, of all things. But sometimes, people have other reactions when being handcuffed and shoved in the back of a squad car. Sometimes people enjoy it, for one reason or another. I smiled when Miami Metro put me in cuffs on the news. Laughed, even. You see my story is many things, but boring certainly isn’t one of them.
Let’s start simple. My name is Nicole Carvalho, and as of today, America knows me as ‘Murderous MILF’. You really can’t make these things up; I love this country. I keep reminding myself, if I ever go free, I need to clip that out of the newspapers. But see, right now, at this very moment, I’m sitting alone in an almost blindingly white interrogation room at the precinct, waiting for a cop to question me while they study me on the surveillance footage. I can’t lie, I’m sitting back right now in my chair, smirking. You see, I killed the men who violated and later took my baby girl’s life, and I’m currently very pleased with myself.
I don't think my grandfather pictured this when he left Brazil. This truly is the American dream; committing a crime and letting your own peers decide whether or not it was justified. In all honesty, a jury will be much kinder to me than ‘God’ has been. So, I figured I’d let myself have this one thing. I think I waited about a half an hour before they sent someone in; a female detective. They must’ve figured a matching vagina couldn’t hurt. The first thing I noticed about this detective was that she was strikingly young; close to my age. I’m thirty-six, so I would estimate her to be maybe a little younger.
But apart from her age, the next thing I noticed about this detective was that she was very robotic in how she interacted with me; she didn’t necessarily look like she wanted to be there. She barely looked up at me when she came in, holding my files and looking down at them like a teenager doing a presentation in high school.
“So. Nicole Carvalho. I’m Detective Morgan.”
She sits down across from me less like I’m a murder suspect and more like she’s interviewing me for a secretary job. I look at her, sitting forward as I join her in the conversation, still smug as ever. I think she was secretly hoping I’d say it, the four words that usually drove most cops insane that, for some reason, no one ever thinks to say in the movies.
“I want my lawyer.”
I smile as I say it. Detective Morgan also smiles, looking down at the table before getting up. I’ll never forget how pleased she sounded.
“Guess that means I can’t ask you anymore questions.”
She gets up and walks out, and that’s the end of it. In all honesty, I don’t think she was looking forward to questioning a woman about the murder of her daughter’s rapist. After the detective left me alone, I was allowed to call myself the lawyer that I had in mind. This, of course, was a friend of a friend, a perfectly shady guy named Johnny Bertelli, who was, in the nicest way possible, a fucking scum bag. You see, I work as a project manager at a marketing firm, so I’ve met my fair share of good lawyers, but Johnny was the fucking best.
He made Johnnie Cochran look like an idiot. He was the kind of lawyer who laughed at the prosecution in court, and I needed him. So there i was, in the Miami Metro precinct punching a number I’d gotten off Google into a wall phone. I looked around the precinct as I waited for someone to pick up, and suddenly it was like I felt a pair of eyes on me. I turned around, and I saw a pretty timid, mild-mannered looking guy who seemed as if he’d been standing there trying to figure out how to get my attention.
But the strange thing was, he didn’t seem to want my attention, at all, actually. If anything, he seemed perturbed by the fact that I was looking his way. I looked over at him, not knowing what the fuck his story could’ve been. Miami’s a weird place, because in this moment, I realized the guy wandering the precinct in a Polo and khakis could very well be an employee. I looked at the guy, not knowing what he could’ve wanted with me as I struggled with the phone. Funny enough, he actually just wanted to be helpful.
“You gotta press pound,” he says quietly, “For the call to go through,” and I almost laugh.
I appreciate the odd moment, just thanking him.“Thank you.”
He just nods, and says nothing as he quietly retreats to wherever it was he came from. I took his advice, and sure enough, the phone worked and patched me through to Johnny’s office. I wasn’t quite sure at the time, seeing as I was obviously a bit preoccupied, but I felt that strange man’s eyes linger on me for a moment. Even as I turned around, I could sense his surreal sort of presence that he had. Sure, I was used to having men’s leering eyes on me out in public; it was hardly unusual. But this was different.
Like he was less looking at my body and flesh, but more so imagining what was underneath it.
*****
The next couple years of my life were eventful, to say the fucking least. Johnny of course advised me to take my case to trial instead of taking a plea, for obvious reasons; there was no way any jury was going to give me the maximum sentence, or God forbid, the death penalty. I was a single mother who stabbed her twelve year-old daughter’s rapist seventeen times. In the eyes of the public, I was practically a fucking hero. Johnny’s confident that any jury would feel sympathetic to me, despite the brutality of what I’d done. As he says, the facts are still there.
My neighbor, a weasley little creep named George Randall got me, and my Isabelle, to trust him, and took advantage of her in the worst way. Then she killed herself, because of what he did, and I had to find out through a note left on her desk for me to find. So, I went to George’s with an empty baking dish of his, and once he let me in, I whipped out the knife I’d borrowed from him, the same knife I used to use to cook for my little girl, and I made his stomach burst like a water balloon. At this point, I’d already chosen to show little remorse for the crime I’d committed, feeling perfectly at peace with the possibility of prison, or the death penalty.
But Johnny said there was probably no need to be too fearful of either. He’d even told me there was a possibility I’d just get a few years, and then parole, or something, and I wasn’t sure that wasn’t bullshit, but I also liked his confidence. The reality of it was, Johnny had made much worse people look way better. To him, my case was already closed. All I had to do was play the part of the grieving mother, which took no effort on my part. I had to wait almost a year for my case to go to trial, which I of course did outside of a cell.
This gave me enough time to get all my affairs in order, or so to speak. My job was okay for the time being, and I knew I’d probably still have it so long as I wasn’t convicted of murder, given my ‘years of dedicated service’. Things were going to be relatively fine, eventually, but for now, I was stuck being paraded around like a jester on some twisted apology tour for avenging my daughter’s death. I’m a pretty good actor, but even my patience has its limits. And maybe wearing my white So Kate’s to court wasn’t necessarily the best judgement call.
But Johnny, being more than worth the money I pay him, made it work. I walked into the courtroom with him, humble and graceful, and didn’t let my eyes linger so as not to appear guilty. But even then, I caught a glimpse of him in the room. The guy who helped me with the phone. He was watching my trial, probably just as a police department employee. Probably.
“Will the defendant please rise?”
I complied with Judge Willis’s request, with my trusty guard dog by my side. I remained dignified, my head held high, but not too high, of course, as the proceedings began.
“Miss Carvalho. How do you plead?”
“Not guilty, your honor,” I told him.
The damage was done. My fate rested entirely in the hands of twelve strangers, and for some reason, there was a thirteenth who seemed oddly invested in the outcome.

Small Things Can Make Big Differences 🩷
Hi, Fans Of Amy Rose!
This is my opinion and we don’t know what could happen between now and Sonic Movie 3. Anyone can disagree. I’m 100% fine with that and this isn’t going to tarnish my enjoyment of the film at all, but I’ve got to get this off my chest. I’d love to see Amy Rose in Sonic Movie 3 and would be disappointed if she wasn’t in it. Yeah, she’d probably not have a HUGE role or time to develop as much. I get it, but at the same time, I personally don’t think we should shy away from characters having small arcs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tails had one in Sonic Movie 2 and I wouldn’t say the movie would’ve been better without him. I don’t think we should have to justify a main character like Amy who’s existed before KNUCKLES (and debatably Tails) being in a movie about her own franchise. We shouldn’t have to wait a whole year for it either. Stuff takes time sure, but other movies with Pokémon, the Avengers, Mario, My Little Pony G4, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many others did it and did it well for the most part. Most of these have tons of characters that they wasn’t afraid to show in one movie. Characters with smaller roles still impacted the movies and in a memorable way too. We shouldn’t be so timid in bringing Sonic characters in Sonic movies. They’re just as marketable as these other franchises. The successes of the Sonic trilogies proved that.
Without Amy or other characters it doesn’t feel as full as it could be. Not saying we should’ve got all of them from the get go but a little more would be nice.
I’m saying this respectfully but that doesn’t make sense especially if we have enough time to flesh out the human core characters/side characters who aren’t even part of the main franchise and not the ones most audiences came to see in the first place. I’m neutral and understand both critiques and defenses so you can decide where to go to on that.
Back to before, you don’t need long drawn out character development in order to be written well. Tails turned out fine despite his small role. Heck, Amy’s roles in the GAMES were usually small but not less impactful because of it. Amy practically helped save the entire world with her “small roles” and one for an emotional and impactful moment with Shadow. Even small things can make big differences and that’s one lesson you can learn from Amy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amy’s interactions with Gamma in SA1 impacted the robot to the point of him sacrificing himself to free a Bird he needed to stay alive.
Amy believed in Sonic when the whole world (or Silver) was against him in Sonic 06.
Amy showed kindness to Sonic as the Werehog and gave her closest friend encouragement. She still loved him regardless of how he looked.
There’s more examples, but these are the most well known. Do you notice how most of them were small actions or small moments of development in small roles. And still managed to make Amy a wonderful character while impacting the stories?
I’ll also just show this too.
Also, don’t worry about her stealing time from Shadow. The film’s called Sonic Movie 3 not Shadow The Hedgehog. He can share the spotlight. Knuckles did in SM2. There’s no excuse in my opinion.
The movie doesn’t have to have Amy and wouldn’t be worse without her, but I think we shouldn’t overlook her importance to the franchise even if what she does is small. Or feel bad for being more aware of what little we get in these movies. It’s okay to admit certain flaws. Nothing’s perfect and not above criticism as long as we’re respectful about it. And for the kiddies who would like to see a cartoony animal girl character for the first time in these films, Amy would be a fantastic way to start.
Amy debuting in Sonic 3 and interacting with the boys would be a lovely way of establishing that close connection between the core four of the franchise. They’d literally have the definition of love at their sides. Again, small changes can make big differences. That’s all I have to say. Now I’m going to continue to be excited for the 3rd Sonic movie.

Humans are weird: Poop Crystals
( Please come see me on my new patreon and support me for early access to stories and personal story requests :D https://www.patreon.com/NiqhtLord Every bit helps)
The pace in which human technology progressed over the millennia was rather standard for a class 4 species. Even when accounting the periods of scientific degradation which resulted from natural plagues or religious persecution; it was expected that humans would not achieve advanced space travel until another 2-3 thousand years had passed.
Scientifically speaking human scientists were well more advanced than the society they lived in, but due to the technological limitations of the human race they were held back from implementing their designs. A primary limitation was the lack of a sufficiently powerful power source. They did have many different forms of power generators ranging from solar to nuclear, but to power larger machines often required equally large energy sources. To power their ships alone around a third of their vessels were dedicated to the power cores.
With these restrictions in place travel between stars for humans often relied on decade long journeys in cryo sleep; which ironically required even more power generators to maintain. Their large size made them easy targets for natural disasters such as space debris or prowling space pirates seeking an easy profit margin at the slave markets. These dangers became a standard for human travel until the Terran civilization encountered the planet Nolla 987 and the species that called it home.
During a long duration colonization trip the human ship “Midas” was struck by the trail debris of a rogue comet and knocked off course. The robotic caretakers tried their best to maintain the course, but with the damage done to the ship their primary programming to maintain the lives of the crew kicked in and diverted the ship to the nearest habitable planet for debarkation. Nolla 987 was the closest planet with a stable atmosphere. Originally charted several years earlier but deemed unsuitable for colonization or industrial expansion, it was not ear marked for either and left alone; until the Midas incident that is.
The landing was not a smooth one. Several engines had been damaged and multiple hull breaches resulted in portions of the ship being shredded away during the entry process. It would be safer to say that the Midas crash landed during the final stretch of the maneuver, but with a 73% survival rate of the crew a rather acceptable crash landing.
One by one the crew and colonists were unfrozen to find the ship a burning wreck and only a handful of robotic assistants still functioning. The industrial printing machines were relatively undamaged but without the ships power core they could not be used to print components or tools needed to make the necessary repairs. The crew was then forced to ration its remaining power supply and divided into two teams. The first team would comb through the wreckage and salvage what they could of the wreck while also building shelter. The second group would scout the surrounding area for anything of use and then report back.
It did not take long for the second team to stumble upon a nest of the dominant species of the planet. An insectoid called the “Sectar” which ranged from the size of a house cat to as large as a two story building. These insects digested their food and excreted the waste into a dense crystalian substance that they then used to build massive hive like complexes.
The occupants of the hive had been driven from the hive by the crash landing of the Midas leaving it almost completely empty save for a few eggs and new hatchlings who were not strong enough to flee on their own. Several of the second team members had been scanning the crystal structures while interacting with the newborn Sectar’s. To quote a journal entry of one of them, “They were like insect golden retrievers. Extremely derpy with at least four times as many sets of eyes. They followed us around on their legs like we were their mothers and clung to our legs when we began to return to our ship for the night.”
At least one of the second team was confirmed to have brought a hatchling back to their camp. There was a debate amongst the survivors on if they should try and eat it, but the notion was quickly squashed as they still had food reserves and no one was brave enough to see how the alien’s bio matter would react inside the human digestive system.
The same human who had brought the hatchling back offered it a portion of food which it eagerly ate. Not long after the hatchling excreted a hardened crystal roughly the size of a thimble. When the human made to pick up the seemingly beautiful gem they recoiled as an electrical discharge shocked their hand. This immediately drew the attention of the rest of the crew who began carefully examining the crystal substance. After some rather rough jury-rigging, the crystal was wired into one of the printer machines and to the surprise of everyone powered the machine. The crew quickly learned that the older Sectar’s would produce larger crystal excrements but were extremely hostile and territorial. Smaller Sectar’s were deemed more desirable for the time being as they were easier to train and harvest crystals from.
Within a matter of days the crew had not only collected enough crystals to power all of their machines and send out a distress signal, but also used the new found crystal power to create a full settlement on the planet complete with water filtration, crop fields, and a sizeable wall to keep out the native wildlife.
It would not be for another thirty years before a passing human shipped picked up their distress signal and went to investigate the planet. When they arrived on Nolla 987 they were astonished to find a fully functioning colony complete with limited orbital facilities. Nearly every human settler and their descendants had a Sectar in their household that they would take care of and feed and in exchange use their crystal excrement to power nearly everything they needed to live.
From there it was only a matter of time before the entirety of human space was aware of the events of Nolla 987 and the Sectar species. Within the decade the colony on Nolla 987 became the capital for a fully settled world with dozens of cities and communities. The Sectar species were transported throughout human space and began being implemented in all aspects of society.
There was initial resistance to the new power source by existing power blocks which realized Sectar power would be far more efficient than nuclear powered engines, but unlike other power sources they had squashed in development the Sectar power option had thirty years of trial and error to back it up with research as well as a fully functioning model with the planet of Nolla 987.
Sectar’s became a common sight on every human planet and were treated like common pets. It was even studied that when introduced to different food sources the energy output of crystal excrement could be increased resulting in certain food industries booming overnight. The composition of spices, cooking technique, and flavoring became an entirely new and highly prestigious academic field with the most successful of its practitioners being highly sought after by companies.
The technological capabilities of humanity experienced a massive surge in advancement within fifty years to the point humans no longer needed cryo ships to travel between stars. Those who had been studying humanity found themselves now being introduced to them as humans winded up on their doorstep with a Sectar on their shoulder and a perverse obsession with collecting its bodily waste.

(Unexpected) Season's Greetings
❄️❄️Midnight's DCA December Day 7❄️❄️
guhhh it's HERE, this got long, it's now going to be ch. 1 of a multi chap fic, I'm going feral over this, pom what have you done-
ahem, anywho, so this is a little something of an au of Confused Spirit (an au of an au if you will) called Holiday Spirit!
Set in a holiday village instead of the plex, reader works as an animatronic technician/blacksmith and encounters a pair of guard bots that are in the village for sceurity purposes (guess who lmao) won't explain the whole plot as this story covers most of it but something to keep in mind is this; the characters here ARE CS characters, but the story is different than CS. As in, the characterizations are the same in how they act, but certain plot points differ as well as the origins for character motivations and such. That is to say, take anything here and in the story that follows with a grain of salt in regards to Confused Spirit. Okay? Okay. Enjoy!
Prompt: I have pondered the orb for a very-super specific scenario, and I THINK!! I have cooked one up that's hopefully fun to tackle... :3c A tree lighting ceremony in a historical town, decorated to the nines as a Holiday village! Its dark, its cold, the world is blanketed in snow-- but there's hot chocolate, a crowd, and beautiful light displays. (Atmosphere, ✓) The DCA is one of the robots/animatronics stationed to interact with guests/assist security. Part of whatever company is in charge of all the lighting/special effects etc that the Town hired. (DCA, ✓) Find a lost kid, or a lost kid stumbles upon them--get them to safety. I keep thinking about hot cocoa & melting peppermint sticks in, so maybe they get the kid a cup to warm up? :3 Whether the kid is the reader's kid, sibling, etc-- they find them, frazzled. (Reader, ✓) Tree lighting, together! Fireworks, together! Could interrupt their conversation, play it all out wherever whimsy takes you (This could be an AU of confused spirit -- AU within an AU, I enjoy the inception x3 Take whatcha want outta the word salad here, dont worry about adding it all in!!)

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
"I just don't know about this Abs." You say, huddling further into your coat as the wind blows by.
Your friend nudges your shoulder. "What? Afraid of a little light show? Come on, it's the holidays! Or holiday time, anyway. What's the harm that can come from that?"
You shake your head, dodging past another bunch of people eagerly walking through the displays. "I'm just not a fan of so many capital people in town I guess..."
Your cozy little village was on the map for one reason and one reason only, the grand evergreen tree that sat in the middle of the square, assumed to be hundreds of years old, which was always decorated extravagantly for the holidays. Tonight was the lighting ceremony that would officially kick off the holiday season.
You were, not exactly enthused about it, for the reasons you've already shared. People from everywhere came to gather in your village—which, mind you could hardly accommodate so many extra bodies—to watch the lighting ceremony and partake in the festivities.
If you were younger and more carefree, you'd have enjoyed the commotion, you used to love people watching from the roof of your house, watching the fireworks display and cuddling up against the chill of the night air with—
You stop, the memory's gone, faded. Grown over with a bitterness and a grief you're more familiar with nowadays. Still, it does irk you that a memory from so long before the accident is so foggy. But, you let it pass you by like all the rest. It was better that way.
The only reason you were out here now was for your siblings, and really just the older of the two. Gabe was just a baby, he wouldn't remember this. Lisa on the other hand would probably be upset if you didn't uphold the family tradition of watching the ceremony and visiting the night market and lights displays.
"Oh, I think it's good for you to get out of that shop of yours every so often. Think the smoke fumes would get to your head otherwise." Abby slings her arm over your shoulder and flicks your forehead.
You rub the spot, frowning. "Gee, thanks."
"I'm just saying, you gotta a live a little more." The slightly sad smile on her face doesn't miss your gaze. "If not for yourself then for them, yeah?"
You nod, sighing, and relent, offering a small smile in return. "Yeah, you're right."
"Speaking of, where's Lisa and Jack?"
You turn forward again. "They should be over by the—oh no."
Sure enough, neither your sister nor Abby's brother are where they should be. Immediately, you panic. You start looking around for the pair, calling their names as you weave through the crowd, which thickens as you move closer to the town square. When you arrive near the tree, still waiting on the lights to be finished prepping, and the king to show up, you and Abby decide to split to cover more ground.
While she heads to the side of town towards the lake, you head in the direction of the remaining market you'd yet to explore.
Meanwhile you try to keep calm. While Lisa had a penchant of running off—especially when around a certain friend of hers by the name of Gregory—you were particularly worried because of the amount of people. Not to mention, there was always the concern of something worse happening.
Everybody was aware of the disappearances happening all across the capital. Whispers of children vanishing without a trace sent ripples throughout your quiet town, and with the king himself in your village, there were concerns that he'd bring with him whatever it was that was causing these missing cases, not unlike those that happened so many years before.
But, thinking like that wouldn't find your sister, and so you have to bury those thoughts and focus. Think logically. If you were an eight year old girl with her friend who'd follow her anywhere, where would you go?
At that moment, you hear Gabe's stomach rumble and it clicks. Somewhere with food it is then.
Along the way, you take note of the additional security that's present this year. Seems the threats that'd been directed towards the monarchy as of late weren't being taken lightly. It also didn't slip past your mind that the majority, if not all, this additional protection consisted of machines.
Many looked exactly alike, large wide eyes and blank faces, though there was the occasional difference. For example, a bear and a rabbit animatronic stationed together, the bear standing tall and resolute, while the rabbit lounged casually beside him. If you remember correctly, you recall both a wolf and a gator roaming around the square with the tree, as well.
You were half tempted to ask them if they'd seen your sister or Jack, but decided against it in the end. While you worked on animatronics and machines in general every day, you preferred not to talk with your clientele outside of work. It was better that way. Better to not mix business and pleasure. You'd learned that the hard way—
A rogue scream interrupts your train of thought. One that sounds far too familiar to not investigate. No one else seemed to hear above the chattering crowd, but when it happens again, coming from a nearby alleyway, you know it's Lisa.
You force yourself through the crowd, stumbling into the alley, and head towards where you heard the sound. But by the time you get near the end, you see no sign of your sister.
You sigh, defeated, and near the edge of tears. You run a hand through your hair, stressed. This is all your fault again, why can't you just do anything right—
There's a loud creak above you, followed by the sound of mechanical clicking. You look up in time for something to land on the ground in front of you, something else dropping down onto the railing of the fire escape just above that.
The figure on the ground rises, slow, calculated, while the one on the railing stares down at you, red eyes narrowed and head tilted.
They're wearing the same outfit as the other guards from before, red coats and blue pants, with gold and white detailing spread throughout. The one standing has shimmers of gold near the bottom edge of his coat, not unsimilar to the sky near dusk, from what you can see of the other's there's bits of purply-blue, reminiscent of twilight.
You take brief note of the hats adorning them both, but it's their faces that catch you off guard. Not because they're animatronics like all the rest, either.
Celestial bots, the two of them. The one perching has features of the moon, a bluish-white crescent for the right side of his face, and  deep blue for the other. His counterpart, the one standing in-front of you, has the features of the sun, with that same crescent combination, only yellow and a softer shade of blue, instead.
None of you say anything for a moment. Simply watching, waiting. You glance briefly to the end of the alley, knowing you'd unlikely be able to make it should this turn sour. Though, you really hope not.
"Can we help you, friend?" The sunny one asks, head clicking to the side, white eyes narrowing.
You're too surprised to speak for a moment. But you're not entirely sure as to why. Finally, you shake your head, coming out of your daze. "I, maybe. I'm, looking for someone. Well, someones. Two kids, boy and a girl. Have they come through here by any chance?"
"And we should tell you because...?"
His tone catches you off guard, but you're hopeful. "I, the girl's my sister. She ran off with her friend, my friend's brother and we've been looking everywhere for them. Please, if you've seen them, I, I need to know."
You take note of the way the sun bot is examining his hands, paying special attention to the way he taps the gold, claw-tipped finger on his left hand. You swallow, you're not stupid, you know a threat when you see one. You want to instinctively reach back for Gabe, but resist.
After a moment, the yellow animatronic laughs. Looking back over to you. He takes a quick stride, looming over you suddenly. "Sounds like a bit too coincidental of a story, don't you think, friend?"
The one on the railing tsks. "Careful."
The sun relents, stepping back with a grumble, smile faltering.
Your shoulders relax for a moment, though only for a moment.
The moon rests his chin in his hand. Red eyes narrowed cheekily. "But not too careful."
They turn to each other then, speaking in hushed tones. You strain to make out what they're saying.
"—They do look similar, though only slightly. But what—"
"I think you're being paranoid. Not to mention a bit..."
"I believe cautious is the word you're searching for." A pause. "And I'm not..."
"It's not. But I certainly—what else could that twitch in your eye mean?"
Once the whispering becomes harsher and harder to discern is when you realize they're just bickering now. But before you can interrupt, a sneeze emits from the bundle strapped to your back, followed by the sound of giggling.
Both bots cease their fighting and whip to face you. You see your opportunity.
You turn around, pointing both thumbs down at your brother. "Look, she looks a lot more like him than me. If that's not enough I don't know what is."
Before you can face the two again, you find yourself being picked up by your shoulders and spun around.
You understand what's happening when you hear the yellow bot speak, in a much lighter tone than before. "Well hello there little friend! Aren't you just the cutest little bundle of joy I've ever seen? Are you warm enough? Should I get you another hat, another scarf maybe?"
You continue to be spun around, Gabe giggling and squealing with delight. Finally you have to say something as your world grows dizzy.
"Hey! I'm also here you know!"
As if on cue, you're set down again. Nearly stumbling before a hand rests on your shoulder.
Glancing up, you see the sun animatronic cough into his gloved hand. "Well then, I suppose that will do." He turns and nods to his partner. "Go get them."
"A please would be nice."
He tilts his head, grin as wide as ever. "It would, wouldn't it?"
A moment's pause, the moon's eyes narrowing. Then, with a snicker, he rises, balancing on the railing before leaping up, disappearing over the edge of the roof. Leaving you alone.
It takes you a moment to notice his counterpart is back to fawning over your brother. Cooing at him while Gabe delights in the attention.
"And what's your name, little friend?" He asks.
You answer. "Gabriel. And yours?"
Quiet for a moment. A long moment. Then—
"Take a guess."
You tsk, but figured as much. "Not going to ask mine then?"
"No need. I've heard all about you already."
You twist slightly. "What's that supposed to—"
You're stopped by the sound of that same shriek from earlier, but now you realize that it wasn't one of fear, but of pure unhindered joy.
The moon bot—or Moon, you suppose—lands on the ground not far from you. In his arms is your sister and Jack.
"Lisa! Jack! Thank god." You rush over to them both, scooping them up in your own arms once they've been set down. "What in the world were you two thinking running off like that?"
You release them again, and they both mutter apologies.
Your sister kicks her foot against the ground. "We just wanted to get a better look at the tree..."
"But then we got lost." Jack continues.
You sigh, ruffling the hair on both their heads. "Next time, wait for me and Abby, yeah? If you wanted to get a closer look we could've walked faster."
"Sorry..." Lisa shakes her head, "But it's okay! Mr. Sun, and Mr. Moon took good care of us in the meantime!"
"Yeah! We got hot chocolate, and Mr. Moon took us for a ride!"
You smile. "Well if that's the case, what do we say then?"
Both kids turn to the bots. "Thank you!"
"Of course!"
"Our pleasure."
You stand up again, nodding once. "We better get going, or we're going to miss the ceremony." You glance between the two animatronics. "Thank you both again. I, don't know what I would've done if you hadn't found them." You lower your voice to speak more to yourself. "Probably sock someone... to be honest."
You start to usher the kids out of the alley, but don't miss the gaze exchanged between the guards. Just as you've turned around, you're startled to find Sun has slipped his arm to intertwine with yours.
"We'll accompany you back to the square. It's the least we can do after such a scare!" He nods to the kids, already starting to get ahead again. "Moon will watch the children. Won't you?"
There's a sound, similar to grinding gears, behind you. Then a chuckle. "Of course."
He walks ahead, and plucks the two off the ground, raising them to ride on his shoulders.
"Oh, I couldn't ask that of you—"
Sun's claw-tipped finger taps against your arm, head tilting as he looks down to you. "I insist." Then, cheery again. "We'd really be more than happy to!"
"I, okay."
The three of you make your way back to the square, Moon slightly ahead of you with the kids.
"So, friend, are you excited?"
You chuckle. "For what part?"
"Any of it, I suppose. It's quite the spectacle!" Sun says, looking around.
You can't deny it, it is lovely tonight. The chattering villagers and capital citizens, everyone in nothing but high spirits. The warm lights of the street lamps and string bulbs put up especially for the event. Children run and play amongst the crowed, going stall to stall. A small bit of snow falls from the sky, not quite coating or adding to the current piles that litter the streets.
Your smile is small, soft. "Yeah. It is. Can I be honest with you though?"
Sun nods.
"I just, I guess it just, hasn't done much for me in quite a few years." You shake your head. "Used to, don't get me wrong. Used to love all of it. But now it's just, well, I'm here for them more than me, you know?"
You notice that you've made it just in time for the tree lighting. The king's already begun his spiel. You wouldn't be paying attention anyway. Hell, you don't even think his kids are.
Additionally, Abby must've spotted you, rushing over to where Moon stands with your siblings, looking relieved.
"Is there any particular reason for that?" His face snaps down to yours. "Do you think?"
The tone shift catches you off guard. "I, um—" You pause, noticing something. Particularly, Sun's rays. They're patterned in a way you wouldn't expect for a guard animatronic. And the baubles at the points of each remind you of bells. Kind of like—"Were you always programmed to be guard bot?"
The tables turn. His eyes widen, wide grin faltering. Instinctively, your hand reaches up to inspect further. "These remind me of something."
"I—"
Suddenly, the crowd erupts into a cheer. Immediately the two of you break apart, and you turn just in time to watch the tree burst with lights. Starting from the bottom and rapidly climbing the tree in a spiral that ends with a flash of light from the star at the top. Seconds after, fireworks start to burst in the sky.
Despite the lack of joy the festival has given you the past several years, in that moment you can't help the smile that slips across your face.
A soft chuckle from beside you. "Pretty as ever, isn't it?"
"Yeah. It is."
A hand rests on your shoulder. Glancing up you see it's Moon. "Lovely meeting you, Star. But we should get back to our posts. Right, Sun?"
A pause. Then. "Of course! Our job here is done." Sun releases your arm, turning to face you. "Until next time, friend."
Sun bows, and Moon does the same, but takes your hand, pressing the back of it to his face plate. It makes you laugh, the edges of your ears burning, and not just from the cold.
Before you can say anything more, Sun takes Moon by his padded shoulders and marches him back in the direction they came.
You don't get to think on the encounter further, as your preoccupied once more with wrangling your sister and—trying—to enjoy the evening with your friend. Though, given this was only the beginning of the month's celebrations, you expected you'd be seeing them again potentially.
And if they had anything to say about it, you would.

I’ll probably reformat this once I have access to my laptop but:
Super big character introductory post (that I worked super hard on!!!) id love if you’d take the time to read this and interact :)
Without further or do
Tandy:
Tumblr media
The title protagonist of the story. Almost everything happens through his point of view and is often skewed by his own personal beliefs and perspective. Living most of his life exclusively around humans he’s still getting used to being around other robots.
Tandy works as a freelance computer repairman and helps robots fix up some of their issues on the side as well, like an off market robot doctor. He takes his work incredibly seriously to the point it affects his social life.
Although he is described as generally likeable by others for the most part, he’s quite clever and has a strong “take no bullshit” attitude towards everything. But he’s incredibly insecure about himself as well as being quite egotistical which can often come out and hurt others. He has a very black and white perspective of the world that affects how other characters will be perceived sometimes.
Max:
Tumblr media
The first robot Tandy gets to meet when Tandy catches Max in a small robot get together when Tandy moves cities. Max was impressed by Tandy’s knowledge around computers and Tandy was totally absorbed by Max’s infectious personality.
Max comes across as very carefree and charming. He doesn’t talk a whole lot but when he does it comes out in oddly poetic short sentences, sometimes to the humour of the people around him. Max also tends to take the time to look after people around him and in turn he’s very idolised by the people close to him. But the time Max spends on other people and despite so many people adoring him, Max doesn’t take the time to look after his own personal issues leading Max to blow up at people if he gets too stressed. Despite all the people he tries to surround himself in he finds himself feeling incredibly alone.
Mikey:
Tumblr media
Mikey had a pretty rough early life, which has caused him to be very self isolated. He struggles with extreme anxiety which just isolates him further, he can never seem to click with people, even other robots. A lot of people view him as unpleasant to be around. He’s self-deprecating and makes uncomfortable jokes about his own bad mental health, often taking it to extremes that would kill any conversation he was in. Jokes he makes that aren’t putting himself down don’t ever seem to land either. He doesn’t take good care of himself either which leads to him smelling not the best.
In reality he just needs a lot of support and space to heal. He’s working with what he has and is trying his best. Max wants to support Mikey and cares about him a lot but gets ferociously overprotective sometimes which can put more strain on Mikey’s chance to form his own relationships.
Sierra:
Tumblr media
Built and raised in New South Wales, Australia. Looking for more opportunities she found herself moving to New Zealand with her other robot coworker, Newton, working for a tax firm. This is where she eventually met Tandy who was hired to fix an issue with one of her computers.
Sierra was growing ever more resentful of her human adversaries, she was starting to admit she hated all humans (and most animals by proxy) all she had by her side was Newton who she wasn’t particularly fond of by this point either. Tandy felt like a breath of fresh air and an opportunity for Sierra to stop having to interact with humans as much and kinda followed him around ever since.
Sierra comes across as very snobbish. She’s judgemental and easy to irritate. She’s quick to speak out about her hatred of certain things (like humans, children and by extension dogs) which upsets people around her. She speaks with a flat affect that makes her sound even more robotic than she’s meant to, which can make her constantly sound sarcastic and mean even if unintentionally. Unlike a lot of robots, her and Max do not get along at all.
Jay:
Tumblr media
While looking for more robot friendly apartments, Jay was directed by her close friend, Phillip to Tandy. From then on they became roommates. Unfortunately Tandy and Jay didn’t get along at all. Jay is furiously headstrong and brutally honest to a fault even if they have the best intentions in mind. Tandy being quite egotistical and struggling to take criticism even at the best of times, Jay's brutal honesty can come across to him as personal attacks. Jay and Tandy mix like oil and water and every conversation they try to have usually ends in an argument. Much to Tandy’s dismay, Max and Jay get along great.
Lithium:
Tumblr media
Tandy may have trouble getting along with some people but Lithium is the only person Tandy could wholeheartedly say he truly dislikes. Lithium, not unlike Tandy, is incredibly self absorbed. Lithium has a large sense of grandeur. They love to make others feel as though they’re not as socially conscious and intelligent as they are. Lithium also has a very short temper and will quickly snap and yell at people around him to give him a heightened sense of importance. People would be ‘simply lost without him!’ in his mind. Tandy struggles to understand why Max chose to befriend him. Though he’d never admit it, Lithium and Tandy have a lot more in common than Tandy would like to hope.
Sonnet:
Tumblr media
The smallest robot Tandy has ever met, yet she commands so much respect from those around her. Sonnet has a very bubbly personality and seems to break into a little dance as often as she can because she's so full of energy. But Tandy learnt Sonnet can be serious when she needs to be and everyone listens to her when she wants to be heard. To everyone's shock she and Lithium hit it off romantically. One would assume the size similarities would make it easier for something like that to happen, but for someone so likeable to fall for someone like Lithium had everyone scratching their heads. Maybe it might do Lithium some good.
Phillip:
Tumblr media
Max’s long term roommate and the one who keeps everything in order. Phillip is a reserved and well organised robot who Tandy barely ever catches an opportunity to speak to. Almost always working or stuffed up in his room practising his music. Phillip considers himself best friends with Max and Jay. But understands they probably don’t feel the same way about him. Phillip often gets quite upset at the notion that people don’t seem to care about him compared to other people, he always feels like the “friend of a friend”. He feels underappreciated in the work he does mediating others and keeping a roof over their heads by working multiple jobs. He wishes deep down he could build up the courage to tell everyone how he feels.
Phillip is always eager to duet with the other musically talented robot, Jay, when he gets the chance as well.
Newton:
Tumblr media
Newton and Sierra were both built in Australia for the same company, for the same purpose. But unlike Sierra, Newton loved all the work he did and was incredibly loyal and devoted to anything he sets his heart out to.
But his heart was also devoted to Sierra, he’s head over heels obsessed with her to this day and has been for decades. Sierra was the only other robot Newton knew and when Sierra told him her plans to move to New Zealand he wasted no time in dropping everything to move with her. He felt betrayed when Sierra started paying more and more attention to another robot, Tandy. He grew incredibly jealous of Tandy as well as harbouring a deep hatred for him. Newton has heightened emotions which would typically mean he was very happy go lucky, but Tandy flipped a switch in him for the worse. Newton now vows to do anything in his power to win Sierra back from Tandy. Tandy on the other hand, is barely even aware of Newton's existence outside of what Sierra has said about him and the short conversations they’ve had.
Vicki:
Tumblr media
Vicki was built in Cape Town, South Africa with a strong passion for teaching. She studied to be an English teacher, working extremely hard to be the best teacher she could. But what Vicki had in determination she lacked in backbone. She had a very thin skin and struggled to keep her emotions under check when working with particularly difficult students. Her tendency to get easily upset in high stress situations relegated her to the role of “easy to bully substitute teacher”. Vicki, feeling trapped, decided to move to New Zealand for a fresh start in a country she felt would be more mellow. Unfortunately for her, middle schoolers are terrible to deal with no matter where you are. She knows other robots through local robot support groups and lavishes every chance she gets to talk to fellow robots.
Scorpion:
Tumblr media
Scorpion is a bit of a lonewolf, she has a short patience with people whether they’re robot or human and prefers to be left by herself. But she attracts a lot of attention from other robots because she’s perceived as being “really cool”. Two robots, Jay and Vicki, fight for her attention constantly, much to Scorpion’s chagrin. She’d much rather socialise on her own terms and hers alone.
Scorpion is one of the only robots whose talents lie in art and painting. Graffiti tagging is her preferred art form. Sometimes she’ll be commissioned to paint murals around the place but otherwise just picks up odd jobs around the place and keeps to herself. She’s quite the mysterious figure to Tandy. Darwin:
Tumblr media
Darwin was built in Tokyo, Japan, before shortly moving to New Zealand. They were intrigued by the opportunities available to them as a robot in the country compared to Japan. Darwin’s main goal in its life was to help other people. The first and most obvious answer to them was to take up studying medicine. Darwin studied to the best of their ability and eventually got a job as a nurse in Auckland Hospital. Darwin's dream was to become a surgeon, but there was still a lot of doubt from humans on a robot doing their surgery. Darwin, instead, was encouraged to work with people with infectious diseases as a nurse. Going into nursing around the pandemic having a nurse that was immune to human diseases was the perfect fit. Darwin now finds itself overworked and stressed. Darwin barely has time to interact with anyone let alone other robots. But on occasion will have robots coming into ER where Darwin is first to point them where to go.
Florence:
Tumblr media
A tall, neon coloured, full blooded American robot. Florence is the only robot so far who actively dislikes the company of other robots. She much prefers to view herself as a human and interact exclusively with humans. She has a short patience for her robot peers and low sympathy for any struggles they might face. She’s seen hanging around a human named Randy near constantly. Aside from her physical attributes, her thick accent and attitude really makes her stand out against other robots as is. She’s got a lot of charisma one will admit. She’s quite cunning if not sleazy. Tandy isn’t sure why she acts the way she does and wonders what might’ve caused it. Cathy:
Tumblr media
Like Mikey, Cathy had a tough life leading up to where she is now. Growing up in the outskirts of a city in the other regions before moving to Auckland. She has an extreme phobia of humans that causes her severe anxiety and paranoia. She’s jumpy and skittish in the company of any human but very calm and intelligent in the presence of robots. She’s the founder of the local robot group that a lot of the characters met each other in. Tandy doesn’t know much about her as she rarely speaks about her personal life.

He groaned. “This has to be a joke. Some marketing stunt, right? Like one of those pop-up giveaways, and you just… show up for an hour and leave.” Max leaned back, stretching out comfortably. “Afraid not. The contract says I’m here until you terminate the agreement. Which, by the way, is only possible under some very specific circumstances. You did want the deluxe package, right?” “I didn’t want the deluxe anything! I wanted– oh my God. You have to leave.” “Can’t. Bound by the contract,” Max said, unbothered. “And, really, aren’t you the least bit curious? A life-size Max model – interactive, no less. You won’t find another like me anywhere.” “I don’t want anything like you anywhere! I want a car! A tiny car!” Or... the one where Charles buys a tiny Red Bull car, and gets fucked by a life-size robot Max

Fuck it, I'm throwing my hat on the ring about the Emil announcing Nate from Fallout 4 is the bystander Soldier in the Fallout 1 opener.
First and foremost, it was a stupid thing to say. As he backtracks to later, the conceit of Fallout's protags is they are supposed to be anyone (and that issue is precisely why some people hate the extensive prewar character background given to you in Fallout 4). For the lead writer to pull a JK Rowling (why would you do that? None of those went over well) is such a major marketing misstep that it wouldn't surprise me if Emil gets reprimanded for it before we even get into the implication of what he said.
Emil your voice is as good as God when it comes to the canon. You can't just say shit like that and expect it to go well. Especially considering the implications.
Speaking of the implications, I'm not mad about Nate being a war criminal. It's a coloring I actually would welcome if the games discussed concepts like Capitalism, Racism, and War in any meaningful way anymore. And if Emil also didn't say this.
Tumblr media
Fallout's canon is rooted in reality. That is part of its whole thing. It's fun to do goofy shit like becoming the Silver Shroud and having a make believe superhero fight with the Mechanist or write a woman obsessed with Nuka Cola so much she traverses two games to basically kidnap the CEO's cryogenically preserved head so she can talk to him for all eternity, but the setting is very much rooted in reality.
You aren't dealing with fictional countries, you aren't dealing with fictional races, you aren't dealing with fictional hypotheticals. That is The Elder Scrolls job. You are dealing with actual countries, actual racism, actual history, and actual fucking politics. You have to be mindful of what you are doing and saying. You can't just do things because it's an interesting plot device without first thinking about the implications.
Fallout's world is a heightened version of our own, a path we seem to stumble towards with ever passing year unless we do something about it. It fucking sucks. I'm sure writing it feels like prophesizing the future and eats your soul a bit. It would mine. But that doesn't mean Fallout can just take a sharp left in terms of story and reality and get away with it.
To have Nate be the bystander Soldier and then meet him when he has a very good thing going for him (an expensive house during an inflation crisis, a robot butler, he gets into a vault for free for fucks sake) very much speaks to life rewarding him for his crimes. There is no hatred in his words when he looks at the flag of the country that made him kill innocents. His speech is speaks of remorse for leaving his family and the cycle of war, it does not speak of the horrors. Of watching you comrades bleed out in the Anchorage snow. Of the scream of shells overhead. Of the fear in civilians eyes as your buddy puts a bullet between them.
You all have to see how it looks like the man is fine with what he had to do during the war, right?
Not interacting with these concepts enough paints a picture of apathy and acceptance. In this day and age where being keeping the government honest and responsible for their actions is so important, that isn't going to slide without it being EXTREMELY purposeful, which it is not. It's tone deaf and lazy.
I respect a lot of what Emil has done in the past, but I am not above keeping him culpable when he has something so delicate in his hands. I hope this situation is what he needed to get his head on straight, or is the light bulb moment where he realizes he needs to pass the torch onwards. There is no shame in subject matter becoming too much as time goes on. There is shame in letting a previously critical series become the very thing it was criticizing.
He is going to keep getting dragged until he realizes that or he manages to convince the fans to be complicit in the degradation of setting. In doing so he is going to lose Bethesda most of its biggest fans who well and truly love the series and what it stands for.
But that's just my take, and I'm just a kid who studies polisci and history and can't shield myself from the inherent horror of nuclear war no matter how much I try.
War really never changes

Jagged Arrays (a Batman/Red Hood AU)
Tumblr media
Lifelike androids are the norm -- for the higher class, that is. Child-bots that are treated like glorified tamagochi, robo-children that grow up as long as you feed them right yet don't starve if you do forget to feed them? That don't have to be watched at the pool because they can't drown? Sure. Terminator-style models? Those should be handled discreetly outside of military operations, but sure. Anything in between? Of course! Name your price and you'll find yourself with a satisfactory model.
Outside of the higher class, next to nobody can afford these outrageously expensive playthings... legally, that is. In Crime Alley, the black market for androids, parts and illegal modifications booms. Willis Todd is a mechanic and it had only been a matter of time until he had to resort to android business to get food on the table for him and his girlfriend. With the rise of androids that are able to do jobs that would've required paid workers before, the chances of scoring a legal job are at an all-time low.
One day, his girlfriend Catherine comes to him with a request: It seems she has found a banged up child robot in the streets, and she begs him to fix it for her. He can't help but oblige, knowing full well how much she has always wished for a child of her own. Crime Alley is no place to raise a child, especially not with the lack of food security, so a child-bot would be the next best thing.
And who is he to deny sweet Catherine her wish? So, after a few days of tinkering, Jason Todd is "born". They know legally registering the android child is not an option after acquiring him like that, so they go the far easier route: Registering him as their biological child.
And all is well, until it isn't... but that's life in Crime Alley four you. Catherine falls sick, Willis ends up in jail and Jason? Jason flees before CPS can catch sight of him. He can't afford to get caught, a simple checkup with a doctor would make it obvious that he's not like the other children. Lone android children don't go to orphanages, they go to the landfill.
At least his sensors and inability to actually starve give him an upper hand out in the streets... and while jacking tires. He's great at that, as it turns out. It goes well until one day, he bites off more than he can chew and attempts to jack the wheels of the batmobile. Or, well... He succeeds in jacking three of them, but gets caught upon coming back for the fourth.
He didn't know what he expected Batman to do, but taking him back to the batcave hadn't even been on the list of possibilities. Of course, it doesn't take the man long to figure out that he's not exactly made of flesh and blood, but the man's reaction to the revelation wasn't what Jason had expected either.
Knowing full well that a stray android child had nowhere to go, Batman offers to take him in.
The man offers Jason to register him legally, to which the boy reacts with the threat of running away. Batman - or Bruce, as Jason comes to find out - relents, seeing as the boy has a perfectly watertight human identity to use. What's one more family secret?
Jason, as it turns out, fits right in. Sure Dick takes his time warming up to him -- to learn that soon after moving out Bruce had taken in a robot child to play house with had stung, but interacting with his new brother quickly taught him that Jason acted a lot less robot and a lot more child that one might expect. The boy was smart, witty, and had stolen the tires off the batmobile! He could see what Bruce had seen in him that night.
It didn't take long for Jason to debut as Robin, taking to the role like a fish to water. It was amazing, really.
It was amazing, until it wasn't... but what did you expect from a Crime Alley kid? They just weren't afforded with such luck.
Bruce, the ever-worried father, had realized something: Most robot models were programmed to adhere to Asimov's rules... especially the child-bots -- yet was Jason able to go out as Robin and fight humans. He knew that Jason's coding wasn't exactly... traditional, but this realization did cause him to worry. How far did this irregularity go?
So when a diplomat's son fell to his death and Jason claimed to not have pushed him, Bruce was unsure. He had always believed that the irregularity only allowed his son to fight humans to protect others, but what if he had been mistaken? Bruce had to get to the bottom of this, so he decided to bench Robin for the foreseeable future.
Jason, meanwhile, felt hurt. And yes, maybe robots didn't compute emotions like humans did, but he had read a lot of books and couldn't help but... well, feel like those words were fitting. His own dad didn't trust him.
But maybe the one who designed him would be able to make Bruce understand! So, with newfound enthusiasm, Jason started researching and tracking down the person behind his particular model: Sheila Haywood, who currently worked in a program for medical assistance androids in Ethiopia. His "mother", for lack of a better term, made robots to help people. Ha! Take that, Bruce.
We know how this story ends... Jason leaves home to find his "mother", and he succeeds. Only is Sheila not what she appears to be. Where her "son" stands before her, all she sees is the product that she'd helped building... And realizes that she had helped building her ticket to freedom, to get away from the Joker.
Sheila would be proven wrong, but in the end that didn't matter.
What did matter was that on that day, Batman failed to save Robin, that Bruce failed to save his son.
Rich people like buying child-robots because they're durable... but even his durability, despite it far surpassing that of a human boy, couldn't save him from that blast. That day, Bruce returned home with the mangled body of a boy... and the fact that there was wiring poking out of the costume instead of bones made no difference for his grief.
🦇
Years later, there's a new player in Gotham, one who calls himself Red Hood, hiding his face under a helmet and distorting his voice with a modulator. He wears a bat on his chest yet won't hesitate to use the guns strapped to his thighs. Is he a man? Is he a robot? It's hard to tell... but what quickly becomes apparent is how dangerous he is.

Big Wild west smp lore Theory
Spoilers for all recent Wild west smp lore! A few Disclaimers bevor:
I don’t know how coherent this will be as I do not keep up with all POVs but I has the theory for so long now and with the talk Spur, Jax and Olwyn had about what Sniper said in Jaxper’s last stream it just became more real.
This also might be a bit of a long one so it goes to Tumblr as to not overflow the Discord.
I hope this makes sense. It’s essencially a big brain dump because I need the theory out there in case I call it and in general. I apologize for grammar errors.
---
Alright here we go.
Things we know so far:
Ness has confirmed that he is a computer or something similar to at least Olwyn
Ness has also referenced to others as “players” and “entities”
There is a higher entity outside that can heat and see everything and is the reason Ness has to write certain things in Number code
Sniper consistently refers to themselves and a few other people on the island as “Not real”
Sniper said they are “as real as the ground they stand on”
Jay “became real”
Sniper says they were created
X is here to help the island
---
Now I want to mention a Film and a Series,
“The Trueman show” (should be familiar to people) and a series called “Westworld”
2 disclaimers:
Westworld is an ADULT SHOW if you are a minor PLEASE DON’T WATCH IT
I have watched neither of them, I just mention them here for what they are roughly about because its important
The Trueman show:
“The Truman Show is a TV classic all over the world. Since his birth, Truman Burbank has been the main character of the series without even knowing it. Producer Christof designed an artificial world in which Truman is observed by over 5,000 cameras 24 hours a day. To keep the facade from collapsing, his wife, friends and relatives are all actors. In episode 10,909, however, various accidental incidents occur that make Truman suspicious.” (google)
Westworld:
“In the 2050s, Delos Inc. operates several theme parks, including the American Old West-themed Westworld. Each environment is populated by the "Hosts", biomechanical robots indistinguishable from humans. The Hosts are programmed to fulfill the guests' every desire, and will engage in—and be subjected to—every kind of violent and/or sexual activity. However, the Hosts' programming makes it impossible for them to harm any living thing or allow the guests to be harmed. The park's operators create narratives for these Hosts to carry out while interacting with guests, but the Hosts' memories are wiped after each narrative is completed. Delos Inc. asserts that the Hosts, being machines and hence incapable of experiencing pain, cannot be truly harmed by these scenarios the same way that a human would be.“  (Wikipedia)
---
Now to my Theory:
I believe that the Island is somewhat of a Stage or something similar. Like a place marketed as “fun Wild West experience” to people. Be that an actual place or a digital world / game. The people that are “from the island” are either actors, robits or as we chat know “NPCs”.
The Cacti Hivemind
In my mind Senspa is already in a robots body and Ness and Senspa are like computer programs. That’s why the cactus hivemind exists. Its not real or magic in any way. Its just a “Senspa Programm” basically being installed into a new cacti body.
Jay
Jay “becoming real” is him gaining his own sentience that he was not supposed to have. Its what Sniper talks about when they have Jay. Jay is not supposed to have to eat, or sleep or love but because of the way Jay is he developed this love for the people around him and got sentience. Making him real. Now they still are linked to the others, able to sense Sniper, Jax and Spur and according to Sniper is something “in between”. Jay is not like the players. He is still and NPC or Programm. But he is no longer just that / mainly that.
Ness
The same thing happened to Ness. They where originally installed to help Senspa get back into the original program. To stop senspa from gaining consciousness too. That’s why it was also programmed with the sense of “Not interfering” as to not get attached and not develop that Love for the People.
Weird ways of talking / Not able to say certain things
Its also the reason why, I think, Scout talks so wildly and explaines things with analogys like the “Milktooth claw” thing and why Sniper, Senspa and Redbite could not say certain things. Not because something they are afraid of would hut them. No they can literally Not say certain things and Ness talks in code about certain things. It goes against their programming to say things so they have to talk around it.
Jaxper and Spur
Jaxper and Spur with the X in them are, according to Sniper, Something else. They are no like Sniper, mainly NPC/ Programm, or like Jay, between an NPC that is no longer mainly that. I think both Jax and Spur are still considered “players” that uploaded / created their own programming.
The “higher being / dangerous being ouside”
The being outside the border could very well just be a myth of the director / boss of whatever game the island is. Its called a Monster / higher being as to scare the “players” and keep them from escaping. Beckett did not know about that being and they were able to escape.
Redbite / The cicles
The people that came in on the train came in the first place to have fun and relax but it got out of control the Moment Redbite, also a Programm, gained a sentience she wasn’t supposed to have a long long time ago. She got attached to the players and changes the original main coding of the island creating the cicles.
This is the last cicle because the director being is unable to restart it as long as redbite is loged in the system. She is essencially a virus
The X
The X is here to fix the island and help it according to Sniper. I think is a different Programm / software trying to fix the damage Redbite did to it when making the cicles
The Biomes and Ruins
Because the Software / Island / Game is trying to fix itself with the X while the Virus is still there and has trapped the player inside the game. The Game is glitching and bringing back old elements from past cicles.
Ocie
Ocie was the first person to eat X. She put X a place where its no supposed to be. She was the only person to eat it and not immediately throw up or be at least somewhat uncomfortable. Spur and C.W., while not in absolute Pain like Jax and Josie after eating it, still said that it did not feel great. Ocie was fine while eating it till she wasn’t and switched to her alternative diet. I think because of for how long she has eaten X and how regularly she is eating it she glitched out part of her, giving her player stomach a virus essencially and putting her stomach on that level beyond player. Now with her alternative diet she is slowly putting it back to being a player.
At this point this is all I have on the Theory. If more comes up I will add onto this. I apologize for how long this is and how rambly. You are very welcome to add onto it and things.

More of the of the poly au, the b-team collecting evidence (or just witnessing things that confuse them)
Ione felt a bit out of place in the Sprite Spring, like it was someplace she just wasn't built for. Although, most food establishments felt like that to her, either requiring manners she didn't have or being too loud or too quiet, or any number of other things. She could handle it though, and she could even enjoy being here for a little while, since she was with Kyana, who seemed to be able to stare through Ione and did her best to make things feel right as she kept attention on herself instead of Ione.
Ione also had a mission this time though. Not just drinks with a friend and stories. "Kyana," Ione began, the question she had in mind feeling heavier suddenly, "I was wondering something?" She stalled.
"What's up?" Kyana asked, bright as ever. "Something wrong?"
"No, no, nothing's wrong." Ione said quickly, waving her hand like that would dismiss the idea that there was anything about her that needed worrying about. "I was curious if you were dating somebody?" Or multiple somebodies.
Kyana took a moment to process the question, her expression changing rather quickly from second to second, before just shrugging. Shrugging. Ione wanted to explode a little bit. Kyana didn't even verbally respond.
"...as in you don't know, or-" Ione cut herself off as their plates were set on the table, Finbar's sudden appearance putting an immediate end to the topic.
-
Davion looked up from his crew's shopping list as he heard a familiar voice when looking around one of the many markets in Sigil. Dani was across the street, rather loudly talking down the price of fruit that looked like something he'd have to be paid to take, VR-LA standing vigilant at her side. He distinctly heard the phrases "saved the world" and "goddamn fucking Magister" amongst the jumble. It didn't seem to be going well.
Dani grabbed onto VR-LA's scarf, casually yanking on it to pull VR-LA down to the level of her and the rather short merchant, which VR-LA seemed to take in stride, kneeling slightly rather than awkwardly bend over. The dirty street was definitely ruining his robe.
VR-LA took Dani's hand, and her volume lowered. His head moved as though he was speaking, tilting to the side when he finished. Dani looked frustrated, but finally handed money over to the merchant, getting her fruit. Davion wasn't quite sure what to think of that.
-
Athos sat at the bar of the Sprite Spring, beer in paw as he watched Finbar clean some glasses. Their previous topic had run out, leading to Athos remembering a recent interaction with his own crew. "Finbar," he began, gruffly, "Cressida was curious about something."
"Hm?" Finbar hummed, barely looking up from the glass.
"Is the crew of the Per Aspera dating?"
Finbar paused and sighed, looking up. "I'll be honest," he started, "I don't know."
"Are you not their friend?"
"They don't really share things, they just vaguely reference and then you have to ask yourself."
"Does asking work?"
"Occasionally." Finbar set aside the glass. "I'd tell you if I could, but Cressida'll just have to ask on her own."
"I shall make the suggestion."
-
Cressida had spaced out a while ago. Not that it mattered, she wasn't quite sober and Vhas obviously wasn't either with how long he had been rambling. They had made meeting up to talk about whatever competition they decided upon a regular thing, but that had already been gotten out of the way, just leaving nonsense.
"...VR-LA's a shit kisser, y'know? Comes with being a robot, no lips to kiss back with." Vhas said, presumably related to whatever else he had said, making Cressida snap back in.
"What?"
"I tried kissing him while drunk once!" Vhas declared, ignoring the question. "Just kinda slammed my head against his. He told me it was probably just time for me to quit." Cressida thought mechanites kissed by bumping foreheads?
"Is kissing him a regular thing?"
"No, I wouldn't subject myself to that." Vhas said. "He's shit at it. Absolute shit. No lips." Vhas made exaggerated hand movements to emphasize his point.
"Are you, like, dating him or-"
"NOT A RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE." Vhas interrupted, leaning over the bar as he swayed slightly. Cressida definitely wasn't getting her answer tonight.

Okay okay, so I've been thinking more on this post, and I've got more ideas!!
I think that the Freddy Fazbear brand would've been forced to shut down not long after the events of Security Breach, whether from the horrible publicity, or lack of funds, I'm not sure.
Faz Co would have definitely had to lay low for a while. Collect what assets they could, scrounge up what ever money they had left, and hide in the shadows for a bit. long enough for people to forget about what happened, or at least, mostly forget. A couple generations, at least.
Not that they just spent all that time twiddling their thumbs, no no. Faz Co got to work.
They got their hands into any AI or robot manufacturer brand they could, starting from shares and working their way up. Quietly buying out any and all big brands.
They save a hell of a lot of money by not having any physical establishments open, especially now that they aren’t having to constantly pay out lawsuits.
It gives them the time and the resources to grow, and this time? They’re going big. Bigger then ever before.
As for time period, I’m thinking far futuristic. Space travel and sentient AI, starships and space stations.
And Zaff Co, is located in the biggest hotspot in the Milky Way, not too far from earth. Not only that, but Zaff Co is also the biggest and most successful high-tech supergiant in the galaxy. They have their hands in everything from AI to housing to travel to food. You can’t go anywhere without seeing Zaff Co on the label.
Where the story takes place is in their central space station, smack dab in the center of the Milky Way. Zaff Co Megastation
It’s the size of a small planet, and has everything from housing hubs to super markets. And of course, their main money maker, Zaff Co Entertainment Center. The one and only.
Being the only establishment like it, it draws a lot of attention. People come far and wide to interact with their one of a kind, specialized animatronics and attractions. Its not that they can only afford to have one megacenter, oh no, it's tactical. Having only one makes people more willing to spend, spend, spend.
Its like Disney on steroids. Except Zaff co owns the flyways, the fueling stations, the housing hubs, the stores, restaurants, parks- almost everything is owned by Zaff co. They profit from everything.
They're in control of the flow of currency, Zaff coins. And of course, those who control the money, control the flow of information. They are number one, the top dogs, and they won't fall from grace again.
They spent decades erasing every bit of their history, forming themselves into a new brand. Freddy Fazbears no longer exists, never did. Any older Faz coins are misprints! Bring them in an receive free admission for life! As long as you sign these papers and never tell a soul :)
Okay- now for the animatronics! I've babbled about the company long enough.
First off, I love @loreleilarai's idea of Freddy being based of of Ursa Major! Absolute genius! And to expand on that, Helpy could be based off of Ursa Minor. The both of them would have a color scheme close to/a mix of glamrock Freddy, or funtime Freddy. Bright colors, whites, and bold markings. (also love the shooting stars bit)
Bonnie would, of course, be based off of the lunar rabbit/jade rabbit. Either white, light green, or a mix of both. Obviously with his signature red eyes. Maybe with a crescent moon motif???
I'm not sure what Chica would look like- all I can find on chickens and space is the running chicken nebula?? I love glamrock Chica, so her design would be largely based off of her I think? But more reds, pinks, and a pop of blue.
I'm also not sure if Foxy, Roxy, or Monty would be in this au, as I'm not sure what to do with their designs.
I do, however, have an Idea for DJMM. He'd be a galaxy spider, and the keeper of the 'cosmic web'. A large animatronic connected to all of the severs of the Megastation, watching over everything from bugs, maintenance, and repairs. He'd be less sentient then the other animatronics, functioning as a large scale antivirus/firewall and repair super computer. At least for now.
And of course there's Sun and Moon, the stars, of the show. I think they'd be largely unchanged, as they weren't very prevalent in their previous locations, other then a few complaints about Moon. It's easy for them to take the spotlight, especially once the two are separated into different bodies.
They have a myriad of jobs. Including security, where they combine and roam as Eclipse. Do I know what any of those jobs are yet? No- but gimme some slack, this AU is only three days old o(TヘTo)
I also have thoughts about making a few new animatronics, based off planets. Pluto, Mars, Venus, Earth, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus. But I'm nut sure what purpose they would serve? and then maybe it'd be too cluttered with characters- Unless I use the original gang? As an example, Freddy as Saturn, Bonnie as Neptune, Foxy as Mars... ect.
I don't know, Its still a new AU concept and I've rambled long enough for now! lemme know if you have any thoughts or suggestions!! ^^
