The College Lover

The college lover is someone who

Smokes and drinks too much to be happy

Fawns over authors bygone

Modern-day misogynists and ancient gods

The lover sits in your dingy apartment,

With a bottle of vodka and homework forgotten,

Rambling in silence about political carnage,

You sit quietly or talk, maybe it matters; 

Depends on the lover,

The lover, who walks with the gait of academia, 

Who thinks they know all but knows nothing

Who does not know if they are master or servant of the world

But makes sure to be at parties

And talk over the opposite sex in a seminar

And ask, and rebel, and seek something greater, 

Some euphoric high or alcoholic low,

Or both, 

And were you even there? maybe it matters; 

Depends on the lover.

Setinggi-tingginya langit, aku selalu bisa menatapnya meski dari kejauhan. Sedangkan kamu? Kamu bahkan lebih jauh dari langit itu sendiri.

Would you have played golf with me if i asked?

Laughed, a smile burning its way onto your face in the hot sun

Of course, you would have said

You would hit the white ball with a driver

And id wish you hit me in bed.

Have you been to saint andrews?

It has the most famous golf course

Crested by stormy blue waves.

And when i think of blue, 

I cant help but think of you

Instead we stand across that ocean, 

In a land bought to ruin by no one but us. 

You are speaking, but sleep calls you. 

You are asleep. I cannot hear you, and you cannot yourself. 

And while my hands could have been covered in grass

They are covered in the red of my felonies instead
