The Veil  |  Chapter 9  | Harbinger of Doom

Chapter Summary: The Ghost Gang bring distressing news.

AYO ITS FINALLY HERE.

After a year and a half, The Veil returns! The underlined link leads to Ao3, but you can read the new chapter on FF.Net and Wattpad as well!

I took a far less detailed approach to this chapter's artwork; mostly for the sake of time, and I made it while still struggling with the flu, so I didn't feel at my best when drawing the characters. I might return to the artwork another time and spruce it up. The chapter itself is not as long as the previous ones, BUT that's because its original length got too long and it's being split up into two - you'll get another chapter in a few weeks!

I used to watch it as a kid, this guy is my fav childhood character. Soon I grew up, and yet still my fav.

Pac-Man AU

In regard to my dark Pac-Man AU, it's honestly just taking the horror potential of the dumb little show and running with it. Like, baseline, the lore in the show is quite terrifying. It's about 2 brothers. One's neglected, goes insane, starts a war, commits genocide amongst a certain race of orbs (The yellow ones) loses the war, then essentially gets him and his whole army electric chaired- ripping the ghosts from their bodies, then they banish all of their spirits to an underground cavern and seal it off so they can't come back out. Years later, a high school student accidentally unleashes them, and they lay siege to the city once again. Except this time, they're already dead, so everyone's kind of just screwed.

I refuse to draw pacman characters as they are, so in this story they're humans. meaning i had to make some changes so it wouldn't be too weird. for example, I know it's his whole thing, but I couldn't figure out how to make a human eat ghosts. every way i turned it, it felt wrong. SO- rather than eating ghosts, Pacman has the ability to burn them/ disable them by touching them. He and his friends also get ghostbuster packs, so that's fun.

Because the story changed to be more horror and serious, characters now have flushed out backstories and reasons for being the way they are. Rather than being a quirky, lovable idiot, in this version, Betrayus completely lost it and is full psycho for the most part. And Betrayus also has the ability to "control" all ghosts.

in a way. It's weird.

The Fearsome Four were Bertrayus' BEST soldiers, and most feared (right after Betrayus himself) when they were still alive.

After death, they began to regret their side of the war, eventually leaving the Netherworld, entering the living world. If they return, they will be destroyed. So now, they're allies with the Pac Worlders, aiding Pac Man in his adventures when times get really tough!

I've been working on this for a while...

OK hear me out.....

Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde... But humans. I drew Betrayus as a person, so might as well do them, right? I really like them! They turned out so cute!

I know the show is super old and nobody seems to give much of a crap anymore but I still do. I still watch it sometimes, it's funny, okay? It radiates 2013 energy. It's beautiful.
