Inktober Day 11 - Snacks ✒️

Today’s prompt is “snacks” and today’s birds are the Kiwi and Toucan. There are 40 species of toucans native to the Neotropics and Central America. These birds are best known for the large, colorful bills. Toucans are highly social and are typically found in small flocks, and sometimes fence with their bills and wrestle. Kiwis are flightless birds native to New Zealand, and are recognized as an icon of New Zealand. They are the smallest bird of their genus, which also includes ostriches and emus. Their vestigial wings are so small that they are invisible under their bristly feathers.

I know how important family is to you

I still have your mom’s birthday saved

In my calendar

It just feels awkward now

To text you and ask you to let her know I wished her

I still think about the songs your brother made

The one he didn’t want to release but you sent it to me anyway

To prove to him that people would love it

There’s so much I miss about you

My ride or die friendship

Just a memory now

And failed attempts to keep in touch
