Jet Airways CEO Sanjiv Kapoor showed support for IndiGo air hostess over the viral video
Jet Airways CEO Sanjiv Kapoor on Wednesday extended his support to the IndiGo air hostess who has become the talk of the town overnight after a video of her fiercely arguing with a passenger and telling him that she is not her servant went viral on the internet.
The viral video was captured by one of the passengers of the Istanbul flight to Delhi to which Kapoor reacted in a tweet. "As I had said earlier, crew are human too," he said.
"It must have taken a lot to get her to breaking point. Over the years I have seen crew slapped and abused on board flights, called “servant” and worse. Hope she is fine despite the pressure she must be under,” Kapoor’s tweet read further.
The video shows an angry air hostess sitting on the flight floor arguing with a passenger after his unruly behavior with another crew member over the wrong food choice. My crew is crying because of you,” she is seen telling the passenger while explaining to him about the counted meals.
The situation worsened soon and the passenger asked "Why are you yelling?”. To this, she retorted, “Because you are yelling on us” even as another member of the crew is seen pacifying the situation.
No, I am not sorry sir, you cannot talk to the crew like that. I am peacefully listening to you with all due respect. But you have to respect the crew as well,” the air hostess tells the passenger. As the argument continues, the passenger says she is a servant. To this, she said that she is an employee and not his servant.
Indigo, in its previous statement, said, the issue was related to meals chosen by certain passengers traveling via a codeshare connection,”

IndiGo announces 19 new connecting flights via Turkey to Portugal and Switzerland
In-line with its vision to enhance international connectivity, IndiGo, India’s leading carrier has announced the launch of connecting flights via Turkey to Portugal and Switzerland, through its codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines. These new routes and frequencies, effective from November 23, 2022, will offer new options and more capacity for customers exploring travel between India and Europe in the upcoming holiday season.
Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo said, “We have witnessed a huge demand for travel from India to Turkey, Switzerland, and Portugal. Keeping the customer demand in mind, we now offer 19 connecting flights through Istanbul to destinations like Geneva, Lisbon, Porto, and Basel. This will not only enhance international connectivity but also add capacity on these routes and make travel more affordable. We will strive to stay true to our promise of affordable fares, on-time performance, courteous and hassle-free service.”
These destinations are known for their breathtaking scenic tourist locations throughout the year. Portugal offers some of Europe’s most pristine beaches with turquoise water surrounded by sandstone cliffs and curiously formed rock formations. Major tourist attraction is the capital Lisbon, the city of Porto, Odemira, Faro and the city of Sintra. There is a lot to do in Portugal, from visiting old castles and palaces to surfing at the Atlantic Ocean Coastline. The old village of Sortelha, the Pena Palace, the Castle of the Moors, the historic fishing town of Cascais and the waterfalls of the Azores are among the things you must see if you are travelling to Portugal.
On the other hand, Turkey serves the interest of travellers fascinated with history who frequently visit the ancient Greek city of Ephesus, the Cappadocia rock valleys, the pure white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, and the ruins of the former Armenian capital Ani and much more. Attractions like Hagia Sophia Mosque, Dolmabahce Palace, Bosphorus Strait, Istanbul Sea Life Aquarium, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum and Istanbul Cevahir Mall are amongst the bucket list of every traveller. The city has a unique mixture of Byzantine and Ottoman architecture, appetizing middle eastern food, and pleasant weather.
Switzerland, considered to be the ‘Paradise on earth’ is a beautiful, tourist-attracting country. While it is most famous for its ski resorts during the winter, it is beautiful all year round. The Alpine mountains stretch across the Balkans to France, making Switzerland the perfect skiing destination. The lakes and cities are also must-visit places in Switzerland, but the most special ones are the towns. These flights will not only promote international tourism, trade, and commerce, but also make travel affordable to these destinations through direct connections and additional capacity. Snow-capped mountains, pristine beaches, delicious food, rich culture, architectural marvels, Christmas markets, winter festivals, and of course, New Years’ celebrations will make Europe magical and more appealing to the customers.
These flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options to access destinations which help in building businesses and are known for their tourist attractions. Customers who wish to plan their travel can book tickets via our official website. The introduction of these flights will further bolster the airline’s international connectivity.
