idk exactly how to articulate this but i wish more people who talk about queer history (mostly in the watered-down GSA/pride month way) weren't so terrified of the word "faggot." like i get there's a time and a place for lighter subject matter/queer history discussions for younger audiences/people have their own traumatic history with the word and that's fine, but the fact that the word has been so heavily shunned from ever being spoken means cutting off such a huge part of queer history because you're afraid of saying a word and you don't want to have to put in a hundred asterisks. ngl accepting the word "faggot" felt like opening up a whole new world of queer history and identity and connection that no instagram infographic ever could explain
