Those people are scared. And they need something to blame for that fear and it's you, because you're different. IN THE FIRE (2023) dir. Conor Allyn

"A big thing I had to learn, (was) that I’m not in control of stories other people create around me. That’s something that probably I’ll appreciate as a blessing further down the line. Right now, I just kind of want to not have, you know, stones thrown at me so much. I’m here to support a movie. And that’s not something I can be sued for. What I have been through, what I’ve lived through, doesn’t make my career at all and it’s certainly not gonna stop my career."

Amber Heard as Dr. Grace Burnham in IN THE FIRE (2023)
Dear Isabella, your son's case is intriguing. I'm eager to learn more. I believe the abnormalities to be related to the mind, not the body. I would like to come in person. With proper time and the latest in mental science, I am confident that we can come to understand his peculiar intellect and integrate your son back into society. I look forward to meeting you. Grace.

"people are adverse to the idea that transandrophobia exists because they have too much experience with cis MRAs trying to deny the existence of misogyny" is a very similar statement to "People are skeptical of autistic people criticizing In The Fire because they have too much experience with Johnny Depp trolls" which is to say that both statements are just excuses to silence marginalized communities by labeling them woman-hating trolls.

Its amazing how many people who've actually known Amber personally or interacted with her one-on-one seem to have nothing but praise for her.

Actor Luca Calvani and director Conor Allyn discuss working with Amber Heard on ‘In The Fire’. Conor: I am so happy that Amber went through something so awful, and it didn't change her as a person. She's still the shining, sparkling light... and to go through something that terrible and be able to come out the other side and be whole... I can't imagine, and I'm in the imagination business. Luca: You have to give credit to the incredible journey this woman has been through, and she can teach us all a couple of things, as far as resilience and courage. Pascal Borno wanted so much for her to be here, to have this experience, about this work, her work, her work that is not just saying the lines, but bringing us together, and cheering us on. I'm inspired and I'm moved deeply by what she's teaching us everyday, just being out there smiling--and making sure we're all alright by the way-- Conor: Looking out for everybody else.
