the thing about some of these emerging problems with like, students using chatgpt to get “facts” that turn out to be completely made up on the spot is that it’s a problem solved as simply as DON’T FUCKING USE CHATGPT. there’s a repeated attitude like we don’t have the CHOICE to disengage from ai, the gig economy, amazon, etc and while that may be true on a certain level, the notion that these things have inextricably wound themselves into our lives to the degree that willingly engaging *directly* with them is impossible to resist is flat out bizarre to anyone who uses them the absolute minimum amount possible. we are not ALL shopping at shein monthly or doordashing a single iced latte every morning! you can and should understand that your actions are your own damn problem!

I do think he would maintain a healthy fear of his mom well into adulthood, though that may just be me projecting a little bit (love you Momma Teri but you're scary sometimes!!)

However the news of how they got married may be slightly undercut by the fact that they... Got married at all. Like, imagine your son has a close friend growing up but has always dated and seemed to like girls, then he comes home from a weekend trip legally bound to said close friend. Who is a man.

kind of a meh mid day. but that's ok. a mid annoying day at dorm rooms still beats a pleasant day at my parents' house. i studied for like 2.5 hours (kinda bummed that I didn't complete the 3rd hour but I literally couldn't bring myself to do so), did some grocery shopping and learned how to get from one building of our university to another. we don't have a secluded campus, so it's just walking through the city, and the walk takes me six minutes if I rush and the weather is nice. I'll have to leave one class early, because my class in the first building ends at like 14:20 and my next class begins in the second one at 14:25. but we'll manage

Le Blanc Chat (The White Cat) by Pierre Bonnard. France, 1894

Bonnard painted a number of cats throughout his career, both accompanied by humans and as main subjects, though this is perhaps one of his better known cat paintings. In the preparatory drawings as well as in the final work, one can see that the artist was very indecisive and careful with the composition of this piece, especially in the placement of the paws, with layers and layers of changes. This painting is not naturalistic, but then again, Bonnard often said "art is not nature," so that was never the aim. One can see influences from the Les Nabis movement as well as Japanese art in his use of flat colors and lack of depth. The very subject of a cat is influenced by Japanese art, as Bonnard saw many cats in the Japanese prints that he admired.

All jargon aside, this is a gloriously funky little guy. I love him.
