The weight of the moment became obscure. Her brows starting to stitch together as she pondered if her question may have been too intrusive. She was about to dismiss it, when his insight formulated in the air between them. Instead of gaining the clarity she had hoped for, it made her more confused. "Why wouldn't I be?" Her response garnished with a shrug of her own. Imara's tone a prod to test his boundaries; she wanted to see just how transparent he would be. "I like being here - with you." Her voice taking on the male's vocal mannerisms, a playful smile meeting her lips but also flickering in her eyes. The authenticity was there in the way her features softened, her mind focusing on soothing it over with a more lighthearted take. The woman hummed, a facade of being in thought. "Possibly." She attempted to play it off before she cracked into a light laugh. Looking at how the light illuminated his features, she was left with the truth that stumbled from her mouth, "Your charm precedes you, AJ." Her voice an underlying of 'But you know that' - her mind trying to write him off as a bad idea.
Imara's nose scrunched with a shake of her head. "Beer is the absolute worst. There's higher alcohol content in the fun fruity drinks. Plus, they look bright and pretty." She partially joked back. A brow arched at his choice. "Since when are you an owner of a gentleman's club from the 1800s?" The tease followed by a genuine laugh. In truth, only she would find it funny. She raised her hands as if to throw in the towel with poking fun at him. "Oh, yikes. What Cosmo girl broke your heart?"
Aj debated on whether being honest with Imara was the best course of action. If he was genuinely interested in the girl, did he already want to scare her off? "Just wondering if you're okay with being here - with me," he said with a slight pause in between. The blonde shrugged his shoulders. Of course, he stood out but it was part of his life at this point and heck, if he had wanted to blend in, he would've at the very least dressed differently. Not that he owned much to blend into the Boiler Room but he could've attempted. "Just a smidge, I guess. Part of the charm?" he asked playfully.
He shook his head. "I could never be that plain. I'm a world traveller. That being said, a good beer here and there never hurt anyone," he joked. "I'll have an old fashioned." He knew his order was basic regardless but he wasn't about to order a sazerac from people who likely didn't know how to make it. "I really thought you were going to a Cosmo. Glad I was mistaken."

Say hello to Amaziah ("the one who has the strenght of god"), son of Chumvi and Kula and mate of Imara!
They met first when Chumvi and Kula came to visit the Pridelands and Amaziah saw this super buff lioness running around. He got enamored by Imara instantly so, in a way to show off, he tried moving a boulder that almost killed him xD No need to say that Imara saved his ass. Amaziah fells even harder for her after that, but he still tries over and over to prove how strong he is to impress Imara. Imara is charmed by this lion, but at first believed that he was trying to steal her position as The Strongest xD Imara is very competitive so every time Amaziah tried to show his strenght, Imara surpassed him. She later (very later) realizes that he was flirting with her.

ATTN:
This blog is under construction. Formerly known as “vonrhine”, a blog for the OC Cassidy Rhine is now “atlesian-dahlias” a blog for an OC Team from Atlas. Team Dahlia is an all-girl team inspired by the sisters of prominent Disney characters (in one way or another). WE’VE GOT:
Della Theotokis - A daughter of Atlesian high society with grandiose, heroic dreams.
Leilani Kahale - A hard-working and dutiful sea turtle faunus dedicated to protecting her homeland of Menagerie... even if it means training at Atlas Academy.
Imara - A mystery, mostly. She is cold of heart and sharp of tongue, interested only in honing her talents.
Anna Kristiansen - A girl who has struggled in the lower middle class of Mantle with parents who aim to live above their means.
If you miss Cassidy (which I doubt because I did almost nothing with her, she has moved to Team Charm at @ohso-chrming.

12 Days of Charmed Christmas: 7 Sins a Sinning
Sins Represented as Demons
Pride: The Triad. More than any demon they believe in their authority and their purpose and their power. They believe that they cannot be stopped by the Charmed Ones, and even if they die, they will continue to come back. All demons are arrogant, but the Triad takes it to a new level.
Wrath: The Furies. This is pretty obvious. Their whole being is based on deep rooted anger - I mean, they’re literally called “Fury”! They are literally burning with rage.
Lust: Succubus. This is pretty clear. I almost chose the siren, but I think that the succubus is even more about lust than the Siren. Succubi gain their strength from lust, which is why I think they embody the sin so well.
Greed: There are a lot of greedy demons out there, but I chose Corr and Clea (the game masters of Witch Wars). They fit the sin Greed especially well because their greed for power is what caused their downfall. This one I’m not particularly stuck on, so if someone else has a different idea, I’d love to hear it!
Gluttony: Spider Demon. I chose her because of her unquenchable hunger. She goes after the most powerful, and going after the most powerful is what causes her death. She bites off more than she can choose.
Envy: Imara the demonic sorceress. She envied people who were prettier than her, and she was deeply vain. She’s highly obsessed with beauty and status.
Sloth: Slime Demon. So lazy it’s not even sentient. It waits for it’s enemies to make the first move. It literally lets itself be carried into the mansion with no effort on its own. It only moves when magic is active.

Show Boat, first produced by Florenz Ziegfeld in 1927, marked a turning point in theater history.. Appearing during a time when frothy entertainment like light-hearted operettas and revues packed the theater scene, this was likely the first musical driven by a serious plot, the first musical where book and music merged. An enormous success, it forever changed the course of American musical theater.
The Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY, has created a production of Show Boat that not only honors the historical importance of the show, it has spectacularly succeeded in putting together an electrifying, soul-searing work of art that is remarkably satisfying on so many levels.
Edna Ferber, the author of the novel upon which the play is based, was born in 1885 to an immigrant father and an American-born mother. Her father suffered from poor health, and the impoverished family moved frequently throughout the Midwest. Frequently the brunt of anti-Semitic attacks (she recalled adult men spitting on her when, as a young child, she delivered her father’s lunch to his place of work), Ferber would grow up to become an internationally recognized journalist, novelist, and playwright, and her difficult childhood would inform her work, in which she examined the effects of bigotry and the lives of outsiders. When Jerome Kern approached her about basing her 1926 novel, Show Boat, into a musical, she balked. Kern convinced her that he and Oscar Hammerstein II were devoted to maintaining the novel’s weighty subject matter.
In the 1920s, audiences were familiar with show boats, which were essentially floating theaters housing actors as they traveled along various U.S. rivers, bringing melodramas and comic revues to otherwise isolated pioneer towns from the late 1800s through the 1930s. (One can easily imagine why Ferber was drawn to show boats, where the occupants were always outsiders, always traveling.)
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The Cotton Blossom, the show boat of the title, travels along the Mississippi River. The play begins in 1887, when the Cotton Blossom docks in Natchez. Cap’n Andy Hawkes (Lara Teeter), who lives on the boat with his wife, Parthy (Klea Blackhurst) and daughter, Magnolia (Lauren Snouffer), introduces the interested townsfolk to his cast, including beautiful leading lady Julie La Verne (Alyson Cambridge), and Julie’s husband and leading man Steve Baker (Charles H. Eaton). A fight breaks out between Steve and Pete (Maxwell Levy), a crude engineer who has been making passes at Julie. Cap’n Andy fires Pete, who warns he knows a secret about Julie and will use it to get his revenge.
Magnolia, affectionately called “Nolie,” adores Julie and aspires to become an actress herself. When a dashing gambler, Gaylord Ravenal (Michael Adams), strolls near the Cotton Blossom, 18-year-old Nolie strikes up a conversation with him; each becomes smitten. Julie warns her that Ravenal could be just a “no-account river fellow”; she is also warned by dock worker Joe (Justin Hopkins) and his wife, the ship’s cook, Queenie (Judith Skinner). Nolie declares that she’d love Ravenal no matter what, prompting Julie to sing a few lines of a favorite song, “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man,” and Queenie, who, like her husband, is black, expresses surprise that Julie knows the song, since she has only heard “colored folks” sing it.
In the next port we learn about Pete’s revenge. He has snatched Julie’s photo from a sandwich board and brought it to the local sheriff, who raids the boat announcing that Julie and Steve had broken miscegenation laws–laws in the South that prohibited white people and black people from marrying or having a sexual relationship. Julie has “Negro blood.” But Steve, who with Julie had prepared for such a crisis by cutting Julie’s finger and swallowing a bit of her blood before the sheriff’s raid, foils the sheriff by reminding him that Mississippi defined a Negro as any person who has a drop of Negro blood in him. Since Cap’n Andy and his family had witnessed Julie’s finger-cutting, they are able to swear that Steve has at least a drop of Negro blood.
Julie and Steve must flee Mississippi for the North; Nolie, who knows all of Julie’s lines, becomes the leading lady, and Ravenal becomes the leading man.
The action unfolds during a 40-year period, punctuated by the reminder that no matter what turns individual lives take, time will go on: “Ol’ Man River” just keeps rolling along. As Joe, Justin Hopkins’s rendition of the song is painfully beautiful, rich, and resonant. Indeed, every member of this Show Boat cast seems a world-class opera singer, and I found it utterly thrilling to hear a score that I love embraced so elegantly. The acoustics, as befits the opera house, are wonderful, pure, and clear. (As also befits a contemporary opera house, there are supertitles designed by Kelley Rourke projected above the stage, and I was pleasantly surprised to see them used for Show Boat.) Eric Sean Fogel’s choreography was charming and fun, and what a pleasure it was to watch such gifted dancers in action.
Paul Tazewell’s costumes are downright gorgeous and period-perfect, and they play brilliantly on Peter J. Davison’s clever, evocative set. Mark McCullough’s lighting is spectacular, crowning the visual feast that is this production of Show Boat.
Show Boat, Music by Jerome Kern, Book and Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Based on the novel Show Boat by Edna Ferber, and Directed by Francesca Zambello runs July 6- August 24 at the Glimmerglass Festival, 7300 State Highway 80 in Cooperstown, NY. The Adventures Of A Fine Tanzania Wildlife Safari
By Brian Thomas
First, one should work and then he should have adventure. That is the golden rule of life. Actually, life is not all about work. Too much work and no play make Jack to be a dull guy and Jane to be a dull lady. Travelling and adventure should be an integral part of life. To be able to live life to the full, one will need to have a good number of hobbies. The best hobby that a person can have is travelling. One can travel to Tanzania so that to be able to enjoy a Tanzania wildlife safari. Africa is the playground for adventure. There is no place on earth that is as adventurous as Africa. That is the reason why it is called the beautiful continent. Many books have been written on Africa. This continent is known for its wildlife. One of the best wildlife destinations is Tanzania. The other is Kenya. These are the most visited African countries. Tanzania has the finest national parks on earth. Actually, the biggest national park in the world stretches from Kenya to Tanzania. It is called the Maasai Imara national park. This park has all kinds of wild animals. It is not possible to explore all that this park has to offer in just one visit. One will require a repeat visit. The Tanzanian wild has always fascinated travelers. People come from as far as the United States and China to see the charm and adventure of the Tanzanian wild. Of course, by making such a trip, one should be prepared to see as much as possible. There will be plenty to explore. Of course, one will not see everything with just a single trip. The lion is not the only animal in the wild. There are a host of other animals ranging from the small to the big. When it comes to the biggest animals in African parks, there is one animal that stands out of the crowd. It is the African elephant. This animal can even bring down a heavy duty lorry. For a successful adventure to be the order of the day, one has to plan. Without good planning, failure will be the only result. Failure is not a good thing. One should plan for the Tanzanian adventure, months ahead. During the peak tourism months, finding accommodation is hard. Thus, it will be a good idea to book accommodation on time. A financial plan is necessary. Travelling is a financially involving affair. Therefore, a financial plan is not a luxury. It is a basic need. It will make it possible to avoid overspending. One must also plan for accommodation. There are many hospitality options out there. One can decide to stay in a hotel room during the course of his trip. Africa is the cradle of mankind. It is the source of life. Human life started in Africa. That is the reason why Africa is a prime archaeological site. It is a continent that has never failed to fascinate archaeologists. This continent also fascinates travelers because of its sheer beauty and also its abundance of wildlife. Africa has been blessed with an amazing wild.
