Never getting over Fulcrum being a project manager...

Idk why, but something about that is so funny to me. Not just because the title of "project manager" is inherently kinda funny for a Decepticon, but also because-

1. It's vague sounding and hard to explain irl because it technically exists in multiple fields, like healthcare or manufacturing, which surely translates into canon in some way.

2. In canon, it's simultaneously a really mundane, innocuous sounding job, yet it's also a super morally awful position to reside over depending on the context. (*cough* forced colonization and cyberforming *cough*)

And 3. It solidifies the fact that behind all the surface level militaristic work we get with both the Decepticons and Autobots, there's also Cons and Bots with "normal" jobs in both factions.

Like, sure yeah we get scientists and doctors, engineers and programmers, but usually in big important or warfront positions. (For plot reasons, understandably.) But it's also really funny and interesting to think of those that worked background positions, or minor jobs.

Like an Autobot working in their equivalent of an HR department, or a Decepticon who runs one of their outpost's or starship's kitchens.

Just all the pre-war jobs that didn't just disappear with the war, but instead evolved to exist within the factions.

It's particularly funny with the Decepticons though, because it could be a super mundane job or situation, but because it's them, it has to have an air of ~e v i l~ to it, either legitimately and/or merely for the vibes, like Tarn's "performance reviews".

I'm doing some editing for my boss and she always orders her facts in the opposite way I would? So a lot of my edits are just "I rewrote this paragraph by reversing the order of your sentences and how they fit together" and I wish I could give blanket advice on this but I don't know how to articulate it

anyway a very enjoyable detail imo is how fords confrontation with stan in tots after he broke fords machine and his confrontation with bill after fiddleford saw bill's true plans are framed the same way, with a few tweaks so that they're not wholly identical

but what matters here is that stan and bill are watching something (innocence gap aside lmao)

ford enters (or has technically entered the room already) with intent of confrontation

ford's dramatic body language through out the scene + the way stan and bill are placed

and theres a bit of irony in the fact that despite being liars and conmen, both stan and bill are both being entirely honest in this part, with fords reaction ending up the same way. stan is explaining that he broke fords machine on accident while bill is outright gloating that he tricked ford into building the portal. they both are angling to get something out of ford here, with stan still bringing up treasure hunting and bill trying to keep ford under his thumb with the deal they made.

at the end of the day though, with ford not believing stan saying it was an accident and thinking stan is lying to him vs him immediately getting confirmation from bill that he was being played the whole time, the end result is the same: ford feels he's been betrayed by someone he deeply cared about.

so thats all pretty basic stuff right? like who hasnt realized that ford has trust issues. and tbh im just pointing out some basic cinema similarities thats a cool detail nonetheless.

but my fave part is how these are the ONLY times times you actually hear both stan and bill call ford sixer in the show itself

stan and bill are both the only characters to call him sixer, but we only see how frequent that is in the comics and tbob. the use of the nickname in ONLY these scenes in the show specifically was very deliberate to envoke how much this sucks for ford that he's been prevented from achieving one dream by one person he loves, only to have that same dream used against him by another.

imagine how wild this must be for ford lol. the time he confronted bill he is instantaneously thrown back in time by bill using the very last time stan calls him a certain nickname the very night he remembers being "betrayed" by stan. betrayal on top of betrayal is connected to that very nickname, so its not JUST a random nickname either of them couldve called ford (or bill couldve also called him poindexter and a whole lot of variations of nerd, but sixer is the only nickname among the two's list is the same. almost like rubbing lemon juice and salt to the wound atp which is really funny of bill.

tots and lmc in general also have some of my fave details on stans influence over ford in general. from ford quoting stan and copying his body language when HE gets abandoned by fiddleford the way stan thinks ford did with him

(and i say copy— this is no coincidental parallel because we know in tbob ford knows what stan looked when he was doing the "high six" part, so he's been paying super close attention to stan's departure the whole time despite closing the window curtains)

and my favorite arguably funniest one, when stan called ford a dangerous know it all in ddamd and ford (who btw was already behind the vending machine and youd think already went down in the basement), is SO peeved by that he was tossing and turning in bed over that in conjuction with all his bill related flashbacks. this is funny because for someone who was literally writing "TRUST NO ONE" in his journal, he's very upset by the fact that either stan doesn't trust him + thinks that way about him, no matter how deserved or that stan is definietly right about him being a dangerous know it all (and i do not see enough people point that out lmao) AKDHAKDGEU

The Heart of Zaun by 1ts_Br1tney_B1tch 8/ chapters. WIP.

or: Silco try to rally the Firelights to his cause (in this case, Zaun - he's much more involved in doing better for his city than in the show) but of course they're bound to have some..tension between them, since they hate him - and Shimmer. (it has the good parent Silco tag so i'd say that all in all, this Silco is a little less...Silco than in Arcane, but manage to keep some of the bite he has in canon...) i only read 2 chapters, and what i can say is that it does a good job with the general cast, the interactions between Silco/Ekko-Firelights are believable, i think the one thing that could have weird me out is the way Silco is said to be 'proud' of the Firelights in the summary (for me 'pride' is something he'd reserve for Jinx yk?? anyway i stop the rambling) . The Timebomb relationship has more or less the same push and pull as in the show, with Ekko thinking about the girl Jinx used to be/ Ekko being a link to the past before Jinx and all that entail...so yeah, i'm loving it!

Powder doesnt become Jinx

ABO/Reverse AU where Powder doesnt become Jinx and is raised by Viktor, Ekko is taken in by Silco. btw i dont read a lot of abo fic (im very nickpick) but this one does every characters justice, and actually dwelve in depth in the abo universe.. (everything by typewriter is good to be honest, but my favorite thing is how they write Powder, who even when she doesnt become Jinx, is still shaped by a very violent world/trauma and it shows through her mental health issues and very, very low self worth/need to prove herself. )

Timebomb centric rewrite of Arcane, Jinx is Powder, she doesnt fall under Silco's hand (or in his arms precisely), Ekko is Ekko, and 1, i need to hug Powder, 2 she deserves the world and 3 the characterization of everyone, everyone is so brillantly written and the timebomb relationship (damn even the CaitVi one too) oh, the timebomb of it all... they feel so, so real and it hurts, Powder's insecurities, her mental illness, her guilt, her need to prove herself but in same time she doesnt feel herself worth of anything (or anyone) good... just.read it. read it, because i just did, after like 2 years of not doing that and. im like mad bc why didnt i??? but in same time so grateful to just discover it now, taking my sweet little time reading it; it rewinded my brain its amazing, (like this work in another fandom, the first time i read this rebelcaptain's fic A Love song by skitzofreak - did i just linked it for you to read even tho its a timebomb rec post??? yes. yes i did. thats how much i love, adore, worship this one guys - so everything's better made me think a lot of this TB fic, and also of RC (the abandonment issues, thinking that you have to leave first before everyone leave you, Jyn and Powder damn).

you know how everyone make the comparaison between Ekko and Miles?? well, the author found a way for Ekko transform into a spiderman that feels right in the arcane verse (end of act1) and damn its so good. Ekko slowly morphing and gaining his powers while everyone still have some focus on them (mostly Powder), but it still manages to keep the suspense of the fate of other characters. fabulous. author note: [I have seen so many comparisons between Ekko and Miles and a lot of fanart. So it felt that I had to do this. I can't promise future chapters right now (busy), but I am eager to see if this inspires any stories with a similar premise.]

the gods all have favorites, and ironically none of them are their own kids (save for hades: he loves his kid. doesn't make him a good parent, but you know?)

In a more Zelda timeline abiding setting; Originally they weren't all at camp halfblood at the same time, but time shenanigans decided they were to be brought together

Imagine Chiron’s surprise when 7 of his dead campers waltz into camp (this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME they enter camp. Dionysus is completely unfazed, knowing the bs time shit the gods are dealing with atm)

By the time they enter camp in Wild’s Hyrule for the second time he kinda understands (Wind and Sky didnt have a Camp Halfblood, for the record, for obvious reasons)

Alternatively, its some form of modern au where they’re just from different parts of Hyrule (skyloft, downfall, ordonia, windfall peninsula, hyrule town (different from castle town), the list goes on) which would make a lot more sense for this kinda au (the world would’ve just had a LOT of calamities within the span of a few years, some of the heroes knowing about camp and others not so much)

(i think Legend, Wars, Time, Wind (post WW) and Four would’ve known about Camp Halfblood while the others were just kinda on their own until after their quests) meaning over half of them didn’t have prophecies and just went to deal with the issue themselves, possibly meaning on their journey they learned of camp

All Zelda’s are children of Athena, save for Skyward Sword Zelda since she's the reincarnation of Hylia (yeah, im keeping the original Zelda goddesses! What of it?)

A camp counselor in the modern setting (ik typically once you’re 18, you’re no longer a camper really, but shhhh)

Wind: child of Poseidon 

Don't roll your eyes, i've got a reason!!

the 4 wind gods throw a fit anytime he's sent on a quest (they all love him even if they won't admit it)

A world purely ocean and islands? Poseidon would have a fuckin ball

The Great Sea needed a hero, Wind was brought about more for necessity than out of the want to have a child (this leaves a hard disconnect between wind and the gods, knowing his dad didn’t really have him out of love for his mom but because the world needed to be saved)

The irony of Poseidon being the patron of pegasi and horses and Wind not knowing what a horse is will never not be a funny thought

Has more control over the wind than he does the sea (for now) 

he, like Legend, pointedly ignores that he's a demi-god, especially since he comes after the Hero of Time (kinda hard to live up to that, even outside of a demi-god au)

The ocean and winds are his mood ring: you upset him the wind gods are after you

In a modern setting, the same reason applies kinda; a quest under the sea would be virtually impossible for anyone but a child of Poseidon, and hell knows a cyclopes isnt gonna be sent (gotta love those prophecies)

The wind gods still adore him, but he doesn't have the hero’s spirit and i think that’d kinda translate to not being a demigod, yet still being the one who was destined to go on the quest because there just weren't any demigods to do it

he's Apollo's favorite favorite (Warriors is jealous as hell. Thats his dad! Wdym he likes Legend more????)

Blessed by (and beefing with) so many gods from his quests

probably one of the few heroes who's spoken to their godly parent (trust me, it was out of obligation rather than free will)

Prefers helping out the more minor, underappreciated, and not as needy or bitchy gods (like Hestia, for example)

curses the Olympians constantly, they've learned to ignore him, hes their best questing kid

I havent played many of his games, but the kinstones sound like a thing Hephaestus would scatter across the earth as scrap from his creations

After drawing the Four Sword, Janus (despite being roman (i like to think the four sword would be a roman artifact, it just feels right)) was suddenly pretty interested and bestowed what wisdom he had for the demi-god

Vulcan, Neptune, Aeolus, and Ceres all came together to forge the elemental stones; the Minish were still the ones to bestow the sword to Hylian people

The gods tend to avoid him too, for the same reason they avoid Twilight and Legend (dark world shenanigans and the Four Sword)

He loves the damn forge at CHB, and was ecstatic seeing the one at Camp Jupiter

He was asked by Chiron if he would be interested in running a forge class for young demigods (be it his siblings or anyone interested) but sadly declined

the reason he's the only “child” of a titan is mainly because of the fierce deity mask literally making him god-like, meaning he has a lot more power harbored in him sooo (the second he dawned that mask he discarded his old identity for that of a titan’s child, since it was also cursed object)

Don’t ask how he came to being Kronos’ kin, no one knows, not even he does (I do) (no, it does not imply a Hylian wandered into Tarturus and got out alive to have the baby)

Im gonna be up front with you guys, im getting really annoyed at people saying that Amy Rose has gone through character development and that's why her characterisation is different and why she's very mellowed out, has no anger issues and her love of Sonic is virtually gone.

Is it, quite literally, insufferable and downright damaging in my eyes.

(Also btw i am gonna rant and be very rambley, I saw a fucking awful post on Reddit about Amy and I'm in a bad mood while writing this.)

Now, I'm gonna say this because I don't wanna make anyone upset, if you genuinely like Amy's new characterization then that's perfectly fine. THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK ON YOU!!!!! THIS IS JUST ME CRITICISING WRITING FROM A SUBJECTIVE POINT OF VIEW!! OKAY?!?!? WE GOOD?!?! Anyways!

A character arc or character development is something that happens IN a story. It is something that DOESN'T happen OUTSIDE of a story.

HOWEVER!!!! If a character does go through change outside of a story and comes back then it's up to the writers to properly explain WHY a character has changed.

The issue with Amy is that they DON'T EXPLAIN WHY SHES CHANGED SO MUCH BETWEEN LOST WORLD, FORCES AND FRONTIERS!!!! And no, a fucking character profile on a website doesn't count too. That's a cop out and you know it. And an Eggman memo that is completely optional is not enough either, Sonic Frontiers had MULTIPLE HOURS FOCUSED ON AMY AND THEY SPENT NO TIME EXPLAINING IT!

You cannot have a character act a certain way and then change it willy nilly without properly explaining why. It's like if let's say Callie in Splatoon 4 suddenly had Marie's personality and they didn't elaborate on it at all. And some random sunken scroll said "Callie has grown up quite a lot."

A lot of the explanations that I've seen online border down to headcanons not supported enough in the universe and like, here's the thing, you can have your own headcanons and stuff, its fine to have them of course, but to basically force them down and get upset at others for criticising Amy's modern characterisation is just unhealthy behaviour man. It's truly unhealthy.

And i think what's really made me fucking mad is that they are taking this modern version of Amy and retroactively applying to old stories like Generations. And that shit boils my blood, why rewrite history? Why try to hide what the character was like? IF YOU'RE TRYING TO SHOW THAT AMY HAS GONE THROUGH CHARACTER CHANGE THEN WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU REWRITE A PREVIOUS STORY?!?!?!?!?!?! WHY?!?!?!?! THAT'S IDIOTIC ON SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY LEVELS!!!!!

WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE AMY'S LOVE AND ADMIRATION FOR SONIC HIDDEN AND LIKE A HIDDEN CRUSH?!?!?! WHY IS AMY LIKE THIS NOW?!?!?! EXPLAIN!

"They are just trying to give her depth!! Instead of just making her an obsessed abusive stalker!" What depth? Explain to me what depth does Amy have? What hopes and wishes and fears does Amy have in Frontiers? What's her hobbies? Her interests? Her wants? Her needs? She wants to do what exactly? Share love with the world? How? Give flowers? Help the homeless? Like... WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!?!?!?!

At least with Sonic he's a flat character, he's allowed to have no strong goals or change because the whole point of Sonic is that he is the spark to change OTHERS! Shara, Merlina, the list goes on, he is the one who inspires change, he can get away with not changing. But Amy? If you said that they changed then WHY DID THEY CHANGE?!!? WHY DID AMY CHANGE THEN?! GO ON! EXPLAIN IT TO ME!!

I fucking hate the notion that Amy was this absolute monster who wanted to assault Sonic and force him into marriage. Have you fucking replayed Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 recently? Have you played through the games with the original Japanese dialogue? Or are you letting fan animations from 2009 cloud your judgement? Amy has a crush on Sonic, she's inspired by him, it's a fangirl sort of love towards him. Hell she says that Sonic and her are tied together by fate in a non romantic fashion in CD and Heroes.

Amy follows Sonic because not only does she have a simple childish crush for Sonic, but also because she thinks they are tied somehow by fate, Sonic inspires Amy, Amy loves Sonic on various levels. She wants to impress him and show just how capable she is.

Amy in Adventure 1 just wants excitement and thrill, she goes with Sonic in her story because she wants to protect a bird, not because she's lusting after him like some believe was the case. She was just really damn bored and saw an opportunity for adventure.

Amy in Adventure 2 tags along because again, she likes thrill and adventure, she wants excitement and Sonic is always in dangerous stuff, so she tags along.

Plus AMY'S MOST ICONIC MOMENTS IN THOSE TWO GAMES ARE HER BEING A VITAL PART IN INSPIRING CHANGE IN OTHERS!

JUST LIKE HER HERO SONIC!!!! IT GOES FULL CIRCLE FROM SONIC CD TO ADVENTURE!!!!!!

I really do want y'all to rewatch these cutscenes with retranslation mods, trust me, they are more emotional than you realize and it proves that Amy in the 2000s was more than you think she was. She was never an abusive or malicious person towards anyone. She never tried to force Sonic into anything fucked up and had a playful back and forth with him, especially in the Japanese versions where all mentions of marriage and shit is gone.

Unlike in Frontiers, where their banter was non-existent, and the most interesting it got is when Amy snapped at Sonic for not helping the Koco.

And if you fucking bring up the god damn "Sonic, this time there's no way out of marrying me!" line dude, listen, imma need you to shut the fuck up.

First, the line from the original Japanese release is less forceful sounding and more playful.

Look, if you found Amy annoying in the older games, i get it, but i swear to god your mind will change immediately if you play through the older titles with retranslated dialogue. The old English translation for these games were hot garbage and created a huge amount of misconceptions about how the characters actually act. It's better nowadays thankfully but there's still issues like Frontiers having drastically different dialogue and Amy apparently maintaining the same old dialogue she had in Generations for the remaster. So the new dialogue made by Ian Flynn was not applied to the Japanese version, APPARENTLY! I'M NOT SURE ON THAT! I NEED SOMEONE TO DOUBLE CHECK THAT FOR ME!

And speaking of Ian Flynn, i don't know if it's his fault or not for Amy's new characterization. I think Amy changed due to Sega and Sonic Team receiving poor faithed criticism that "Amy is too annoying! She's so obsessive and angry!" and so now all media with Amy is trying to unify into this neutral and boring personality, and Ian Flynn was probably guided to make Amy act a certain way by them.

I do think that the hate Ian Flynn gets is a bit too much, like sure sometimes his dialogue and the way he handles themes is a bit.... shite. (Seriously what was the theme of Frontier's story? Cause even i don't know. "Without the time stones??" haunts my dreams every night...) But after Shadow Generations and with the right team, i know that man can cook, i don't put the blame on him. Writers don't have as much freedom as you guys think... People check the stuff they have written, that shit has to be approved and changes must be done if the higher ups don't like it.

I wanna conclude by saying this, if there was a story or sub-plot in a Sonic game where Amy learns to reflect on past actions and go "you know maybe i was a little crazy towards Sonic, i should try to just be a great friend towards him instead!" I wouldn't mind that. I would enjoy it probably.

But you gotta fucking SHOW the character change for me to care about the new characterisation, otherwise I'm gonna see it as forced and damaging towards Amy as a character. What is one of the biggest things in storytelling?

At first Levi was scared of the dog, then he decided she was cute. Watches an anime about a dog and realises he should be a responsible owner and take her out on walks!

He almost called her Henry 3.0

He has to make sure Henry 2.0 is unreachable to Ruri. He's scared Ruri might eat Henry 2.0

He's still kind of scared of Ruri but loves her.

Since getting Ruri he's actually been remembering to take care of himself. As a reward, once a month for a day or two, Lucifer will take over taking care of Ruri so Levi can have one of his gaming marathons uninterrupted.

Levi plays the Devildom equivalent to pokemon go while walking Ruri

Levi rants to Ruri about the anime or manga he's currently obessed with while playing with her with some chew toy or something.

She lays beside him in his bathtub sometimes and lays her head on his lap while he watches anime.

He originally saw something in some article or whatever he read about Rottweilers being aggressive, possibly saying that they weren't a 'good' dog breed.

Satan knows what its like to be labelled as aggressive and unsafe, so he has sort of a soft spot for 'bad' dog breeds.

So one day, he's talking to one of his various acquaintances, and for whatever reason, they visit an animal shelter.

Satan hears another couple say they wouldn't get a dog because 'isn't that breed really aggressive?' and he feels sad, he's not mad at the couple, it's a reasonable concern, but poor dog :(.

He approaches that worker a couple of minutes after his acquaintance leaves and asks them about the rottweiler.

Long story short he walks out with it on a leash, standard food, and a bowl courtesy of the shelter.

Calls the dog 'Julie' because he had just finished pirating a preformance of Romeo and Juliet. (which he enjoyed criticising, but he liked the name Juliet and also Belphie likes the band Julie so)

He makes sure to take the time and effort to socialise Julie with cats because this is Satan we're talking about for fuck's sake.

He takes Julie on walks before stopping at a dog-friendly café in the Devildom.

Julie also sleeps on Satan's lap when she's tired and he's reading.

Satan gets a lot more into audiobooks after he adopts Julie so he can still technically 'read' without having to ignore his new pooch.

Will write several books on why she's the best girl ever, and will make you read them.

A fan gifted him a dog for his birthday for some reason. At first he accepted the gift and devised a plan to give the dog away but the shelter was closed over the weekend, so he elected to let the dog stay with him until then.

Ends up getting attached. This is his baby now.

Calls her 'Angel' because he thinks she's an angel. She also kind of reminds him of Luke so.

This little rat is all over his Devilgram.

So much so there are fanclubs for her now.

Angel gets walked everyday. Asmo loves the excerise and says its done wonders for his skin.

He doesn't like when she digs, but oh well.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are massive, I feel like Beel would be the type of guy who loves big dogs. Given how big this Demon is, I feel like he'd be scared of hurting a smaller dog. He probably got an already adult rescue from a shelter.

It was one of those cliche things, meeting eyes with this big sad dog in a cage and Beel just knowing, "This is my baby."

Bernese Mountain Dogs DROOL, and I feel like Beel wouldn't mind that seeing as he is the Avatar of Gluttony.

Speaking of being the Avatar of Gluttony, Beel's dog 100% gives him puppy eyes while he's sitting at the table eating, and what does Beel do? He sneaks his dog food under the table.

Given his workout schedule this doggo gets atleast one walk a day. ATLEAST.

Beel one hundred percent cuddles up with that dog. You thought he had a mental bond with Belphie? Well that man has a mental connection of that caliber with his dog.

He is covered in dog hair but he sees that as making him part of the pact with Bernie so he couldn't care less. (He does clean up shed hair with a roller when going out though)

Bernie might've been a rescue and maybe could've lived a hard life before Beel adopted her, but Beel loves her like she's his own child that is his BABY.

Normally Belphie can't be bothered with animals, but when he saw the ad saying 'FOR SALE: NEEDS BETTER HOME' and saw that closed eye Beel smile his grinchy little heart grew three sizes that day.

He adopts the dog.

He calls her something like, 'Bella'

No thats not because it sounds like Beel. Piss off.

Bella isn't too high maintenence and actually does well for Belphie's productivity.

The seventh born actually goes on regular (though albeit) short walks with Bella.

Beel bonds with the dog as well and is very happy to take her on his morning runs with him.

Bella is affectionate but fucking stubborn. (Just like Belphie if you think about it)

Sometimes while cuddling (which only happen on Bella's terms by the way), she will not get off of Belphie, no matter how much Belphie asks. (Not that he minds, its an extra excuse to be lazy)

The cuddling in question is literally just Bella laying on top of Belphie like she's some sort of cat.

Bella is more of a brat than Belphie and thats saying something. The man spoils her.
