"The flow of fashion illustration in New York since the early 1970's has been vividly alive. Expamples to prove this are: one illustrating category in which elegance is expressed using the traditional and classical technique and various techniques or touches that have been developed along with the changes in fashion sense. Take for example, Art Nouveau to Art Deco which appeared on the cover of the first issue of Vogue, the tendency towards surrealism from the 1930's through the 1940's, or urban and modern illustration in the 1950's. These illustrations sufficiently express their newly-born beauty of the mode. Furthermore, pop-tone and new art expressions are tending to be adopted for illustration."
