[1/7] HELLO! so i just had to come here bc i found your blog through your 1x19/1x20 fic on ao3, and i've also been rewatching tvd (very slowly) lately, and trawling your tags to get a fix of delena lol, but there's something i've been thinking about for yearssss but your fic recently made me think of it differently as did your posts, so i would love to hear your opinion properly... so it is confirmed that damon fell in love with elena in 1x19 during the dance, but it was always MY opinion

[2/3] that he didn't KNOW-like, consciously-that he had fallen in love with her, and i’ve often debated with myself about when he could have realised it; i think the easiest answer is that isobel saying “because he’s in love with you” is when he was like Oh Shit because he after that moment DOES become a lot more flirty with her (and in the next episode kisses “her” cheek/lips lol, romantic feelings for sure)… but the way you wrote it in in the 1x19-1x21 posts and the last a/n on your fic makes [3/7] me think that you think he WAS aware he had fallen for her in 1x19? so he was what just not sure how to deal with it? i guess i just have always wondered about this because damon’s behaviour doesn’t seem to indicate he had fallen in love and Knew about it, 1x20 damon and elena are definitely a lot closer but they’re closer because they’re trying to help stefan together so it’s natural for them to be spending a lot more time together. and he goes with alaric with some hope that he can [4/7] find a clue about katherine/he still has katherine on the brain…?1x21 damon has some of the BEST moments imho that support both sides (he knew/he didn’t know yet); he is all Elena you don’t have to see isobel if you don’t want to, we should be in there; and then the threatening of isobel’s life to leave elena alone [5/7] this is so jumbled. i guess i just want to know how you feel about this Very Important question: did he know he had fallen in 1x19 and if so WHY (and if not, was it isobel saying it out loud for the first time that made him realise?). lmfao (also sorry about the many asks…blame tumblr for that.) [6/7] ooh also a follow-up question because i would love to hear it (and bc i just watched rose last night so it’s very fresh in my mind lol): why do you think damon chose to tell elena he loved her at that moment? is it just bc she didn’t have her necklace, so he had the opportunity to do it and then walk away? it’s so romantic to me that if this is true it seems like he was bursting to tell her “i just have to say it once” like it was always on the tip of his tongue??????? [7/7] would he have told her if she had never lost her necklace…probably not, he definitely needed to know he could erase her memory of it lol… ahhh yes would love ur thoughts… anyways, sorry for all these messages again... also just would love you to know how much i love your fic it brings me such joy, i did leave a message on there (most recent one lol) but may as well tell you again it is sooooo good!!! i love how you write them so in character!!

I’m so glad you enjoyed You’re Still Here!! and I definitely feel you on the whole “they confirmed that x moment was when so-and-so fell in love….but like…was it?” thing, because my kneejerk response to almost everything I learn from the commentaries is “yeah right”, haha. BUT once I got over the initial resistance, the moments they name – the MMF dance for Damon and the birthday necklace for Elena – do have a kind of internal consistency, they work. so yeah, I do think Damon knew he was in love with Elena in 1x19. the big things for me are his face during the waltz (awed and affectionate), his face when he walks into the room after she drugs Stefan (oddly vulnerable almost), and the line “I’ve had a no good very bad day” (if he hadn’t just figured out that he was in love with a girl he could never have, I honestly don’t know why the day would be that bad haha). plus, the way he reacts in 1x20 when she says that he’s been punishing Stefan for letting Katherine get caught – it’s really dramatic. it’s very important to Damon, suddenly, that Elena not be deceived about him.

on the other hand, though, the thing with Damon always is, what kind of love? throughout the show, I’m always pretty willing to give the answer, “yeah, Damon’s in love with her”. but is he only in love with her, or is he also in love with Katherine at the same time? does he truly love her, or is it a grasping, desperate, clingy love? does he love her and think they could be together, or is he determined to love her from afar, for her own good? and at the point of 1x19 I think the answers are still pretty mixed up: he knows he loves her but he also knows she loves Stefan, and so he clings to his love for Katherine as a kind of escape. he thinks Elena might love him back when he kisses “her” in 1.22, but even then, that brief illusion isn’t enough to push out all of his old feelings for Katherine – Katherine has to totally reject him before he makes his feelings for Elena truly the guiding principle of his life. finally, he has nothing else left, and so he can focus purely on keeping her safe and tending his love for her.

as for 2x08, I think it’s actually very intrinsically tied up with 1x19!! before both episodes, Katherine’s been set aside in a significant way, taking her out of the picture. in both episodes, Damon arrives at the bottom of a staircase to rescue Elena. but where in 1x19 he knew she didn’t love him, but he still had a place in her life – her friend, her protector, her warrior – in 2x08 there’s no clear place for him. Stefan’s drinking blood and in control, and Damon lost her trust; she runs down the stairs and into Stefan’s arms, and he’s left alone. and Damon accepts it! he feels all over again the devastation of losing Katherine and never having been loved by her or Elena, and still he loves Elena. even though she hates him (she doesn’t) and he doesn’t deserve her, he finds that her “thank you” is enough for him. compassion and gratitude from her is worth more than anything from someone else, it’s worth staying for. he loves her, only her, without any hope of return, and he makes his peace with that. and I think the only way he knew to let her go is tell her and then to very literally take it away, set her free even from the memory.

I think he’d never said it before because on the one hand, she didn’t need to be told because she already knew, every villain of the week comments on it, but also because if he held back from saying it then maybe the perfect moment would come along and he’d tell her and it would mean something, she’d say it back. he can say it now because he knows she’s not gonna say it back, and he’s okay with that. it’s still the deepest truth of his heart, and it deserves to be spoken and heard, even if it’s a hopeless truth.

it’s definitely a difficult scene to interpret, though, because he prefaces the whole thing by saying “this is maybe the most selfish thing I’ve ever said”, but then says that he doesn’t deserve her and erases her memory, which doesn’t seem selfish – and years after the fact when she recovers the memory he calls it selfish again?? which I don’t understand, unless he thought hearing it would cause her pain, which it…doesn’t seem to??? so I tend to just ignore that entire aspect of the scene. I think this is Damon being unselfish, acknowledging his own capacity for selfishness which ruined everything in 2x01, and then rejecting it.

being a new writeblr means I have to actually post my writing here, right? ^^; I tend to do a lot of writing sprints, so it'll mostly be short pieces, but I'm working my way up 💪

The petals of an iris, a marble clear enough to see through, a candle that remains unlit, and a clear night sky is what was said to keep you safe if you decide to walk the woods alone. Rose petals attracted the faeries, not the ones you wanted around, anyway, and different coloured marbles were said to tempt the changing paths between the trees, the colours signifying things in a language only the trees understood. No one talks about what happens if you were to light the candle you brought, mainly because no one quite knows what happens. Those who do light their candle come back speaking a language unknown to anyone else, unable to communicate through voice nor letters, imprisoned by their own recklessness.

A cloudy night is what ends up fucking over Delena.

"Clear night my ass," she mutters, carefully stepping over roots and stones toying with her feet as she navigates the paths. The sweet moonlight that guided her as she entered the woods was now shying away behind clouds made threatening only by the fading light. The candle and marble were clutched in her hands, the petals carefully tucked away in the capsule attached to her belt. She sidestepped a particularly large stone that hadn't been there before and side-eyed the moon above her.

"If this turns out to just be a way to make me review my life choices, its a shit choice. I'm sorry about what happened in Makkai! I have erred in my ways, I admit that much!" Delena throws her hands out on either side of her before letting them drop and lowering her voice. "If Shuri had maybe given me a warning that bartering wasnt appreciated in the markets then that whole fight could've been avoided, but no, she thought my language barrier was funny. And if you can't argue with words, well..." her fist didn't ache anymore, but that satisfying feeling of punching the sneer off of the shopkeepers face still lingered. The humor of the memory didn't reach her, however, and she stopped walking to watch the rest of the moon get swallowed by the clouds stretching out above her.

The silence of the woods deafened her. No living being dared to awaken what may slumber in the shadows beneath the trees, and Delena let out a slow exhale as her eyes slid from tree to tree.

Okay. So what if the woods wouldn't let you leave unless the sky was clear? It's no skin off of her back. She'd find a nice spot to camp out, maybe find some berries, make a fire so she could boil water from the river and make a stew. Vegetarian, granted, because eating the animals from the woods gives side effects that Delena would rather not experience at this current moment. She glanced at her candle, annoyance in her eyes as she tucked it into her pocket. The weight of it taunted her as she started forward along the path in search of firewood.

a short time later finds Delena standing on the edge of a river, a scowl on her face and her feet slowly dripping water onto the grass beneath her. Like everything else in the woods, the river ran silently, leading Delena to walk full speed into it before quickly backtracking to stand at its side. Her arms were wrapped around the few sticks she broke off of the trees she passed, the curves and edges of them digging into her forearm as she squinted to the other side of the water.

Swimming was out of the question. She didn't even know where the water was flowing from, and wasn't too keen on finding out where it was flowing to. Her socks clung to her feet as she turned back to the trees, water seeping out from her boots.

"Alright. At least you're not being a complete prick. Thanks for the water, asshole! Way to try and make the best of a bad situation! At least I won't die of dehydration, so I can die from whatever beasts you have hidden here! Thanks a lot!" Ignoring the squish that accompanied her every step, Delena took long strides along the bank, keeping herself sandwiched between the woods and the river. She narrowly missed a low hanging branch that seemed to reach for her as she passed and took a step closer to the water, eyeing the trees. She wasn't quite sure what she was looking for. Despite her planning earlier, she knew a fire would only act as a waypoint leading anything and everything to her location. Survival? What's that? Delena only knows how to serve herself up with herbs and garlic to whatever happens to find her first.

No, no fires tonight. The sticks in her arms were acting more as a security than anything else. They wouldn't do much in a fight, but feeling the wood in her hands and the ground passing beneath her as she walked made it easier for her to pretend that she was in control of the situation.

That small blanket of security was ripped away as something moved in the trees just behind her.

She closed her eyes as a sigh escaped from her nose. She didn't have the time nor the energy nor the motivation to deal with whatever seemed to be tracking her. It was probably some little squirrel, anyway. Small with a big fluffy tail. Maybe a couple of buck teeth. carrying some nuts back to its home to eat. Roasted nuts, with some spices for flavour and a warm cup of tea...

Delena's thoughts turned their backs to the danger for a moment, following the train of thought fueled by her increasing hunger. Her thumb rubbed the end of one of the sticks as she focused herself. A quick glance behind her showed exactly what she expected to see: masses of shadows distinguished only by the faint wisps of light that managed to sneak passed the cloud cover. No movement, no threat. Delena wasn't dumb enough to actually believe that, but she refused to let her concern show on her face. Annoyance was easier.

"Yeah, sculk in the shadows like you always do! Cowards can't even muster up enough energy to actually make an appearance, no wonder no one's afraid of you! Can't be afraid of something you don't know, now can you?" a small part of her mind recognized that yelling into the woods was as sure a way to attract creatures as a fire would've, but a larger part of her didn't care. "Go on, follow behind where you belong. don't think I'm going to spend my time playing the damsel in distress. If you do decide to show you probably butt-ugly face to me, just know that I've got a mean fucking backhand and I'm not afraid to use it on your sorry ass!"

The trees, as trees tend to do, said nothing. The rustling had stopped the moment she had stopped walking, and didn't return even as she continued to walk.

"Afraid of me, are you? Yeah, you should be. I'm not going to lay down and die even if you begged me to." She glanced around again, searching for any sign of life, and noticed that the ground to her right appeared to be solid. She opened her eyes wide, trying to see into the shadows that we're slowly lengthening around the trees. When she saw nothing, she broke off a piece of one of the sticks and tossed it out, listening for a splash or a sign that the river was still by her side.

She was met with only the soft scrape as the branch landed on a rock. Delena cursed and began walking to her right, pushing branches out of her way.

"could've sworn it was right beside me," she muttered. The trees only grew thicker around her as her feet (now damp, not dripping) carried her forward.

She walked. and walked. She continued to break off pieces of her sticks and toss them in front of her every few feet, hoping to avoid any more surprises, but the river was nowhere to be found.

Seconds passed. Then minutes. She continued her trek forward.

It was the slow roll of the fog surrounding her feet that was the catalyst for her annoyance.

"Okay, okay you know what? Fuck it! Fuck you and your creepy-ass stalking gig! If you're so scary why don't you come and face me, cause your strategy now is not working!" Delena spun on her heels, the fog swirling around the sudden movement like leaves caught in the wind, and glared at the line of trees. The path she had forged moments ago was gone, and even without looking she knew that the trees had closed in at her back. She knew that if she walked forward, the woods would part for her.

She wasn't trapped, but it felt like she was.

"You can't keep me here! Screw your dark and spooky aesthetic!" She yanked the candle from her pocket along with the single match she brought with her. With a quick flick, the match lit and she held it up near the candle until it caught. Tossing the match aside, she held the candle in front of her.

The noise that had followed her since the moons dissapearance returned almost as soon as the match hit the ground. A rustle of the leaves, then a chattering sound that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. The fog to her left shifted, and she swung her hand around in a large arc, mindful of the small flame, and peered into it. It looked exactly the same as every other damn set of trees in the woods. As Delena looked more closely at one of the trees and the one next to it, she realized that they were in fact the same. Literally. Her eyes tracked over the identical swirls of wood and buds of leaves, and her heartbeat picked up just slightly.

How far had she actually walked? Did she even cover any distance, or had the woods just shifted around her, keeping her in place? She glanced to her right and saw the faint flashes of moonlight reflected in the river, still bubbling and flowing silently. The feeling of anxiety kicked in her chest as she struggled to remember the direction that she had come from.

The chattering was directly in front of her now.

Her gaze darted from branch to identical branch, then dropped to the ground as the fog parted, and her eyes fell on a small creature, bushy tail twitching.

Her shoulders dropped as the tension left them, her heart beating less forcefully. She squatted down and watched the squirrel as it sat and chattered at her.

"Damned woods are messing with my head," she said. "were you the one making me all nervous? you're no threat, you little cutie."

The squirrel was motionless save for its tail, twitching in a repeating pattern behind it. It's eyes stared at her. Delena straightened up and watched as the small flame in front of her wavered uncertainly. The squirrel remained where it was, and Delena frowned. She took a step closer and watched as the squirrels tail hesitated for just a moment before resuming it's pattern. She walked until she stood less than a foot away, and still the squirrel didn't move.

Her eyes followed the length of the tail, and then further out as she realized that something was attached to the end of it, jerking up and down. A black tendril bobbed and weaved backwards as it drags the squirrels body into the shadows, and Delena can see the glint of fangs as the creature draws its lips back and steps into the clearing.

It's body is patchy, matted fur covering it's shoulders and hips while it's stomach and back showed skin stretched tight and dusted with dirt. Its tail retracted, now hanging the squirrel in the air, almost taunting her, the horrible grating chattering sound still erupting from the creatures jaws. the faint light of the candle catches the strong curve of its jaw, the full blackness of it's eyes, the flash of tongue peeking out from where two of its teeth had been chipped. Delena's body begs her to scramble backwards, but she forces her feet to move slowly as she steps back. One foot, then the other, until she feels a brush of leaves against her hair. The noise was deafening now, worming it's way into her head, and she could feel a pressure building behind her eyes. Her breathing hitched, and she backed up further into the trees, the creature in front of her taking slow calculated steps, not advancing on her but keeping the distance between them steady. Delena can feel the woods pulling around her, adjusting to her slow retreat backwards, and she makes a quick decision.

With a quiet huff, she extinguishes the flame, and the two of the are cast into darkness.

The chattering stops immediately.

Keeping the clearing and the creature in front of her and hoping to whatever God would be the most merciful, Delena steps backwards into the shadows.

My Top 10 least favorite Celebrities

Now keep in mind this list is simply my opinion I don’t mean to offend people and I do my best to give good reasons on why I don’t respect or like any of these people.

#10 Danielle Panabaker

I haven’t always had a problem with Danielle. She is the reason I started watching the Flash. I was also familiar with her work on Disney channel. She starred in the movies “Stuck in the Suburbs” “Read it and Weep” alongside her sister Kay Panabaker and most of you know she was in the movie Sky High. I was excited to see Danielle move on to bigger and better things. However, my issues with her began after watching her interviews and how I heard she tried to steal Candice’s spot as leading female. I tried to let it go at first but the more interviews I watched of her the more I started to lose respect for her. There was this ‘Ship war” between West Allen & Snowbarry. The problem with that is that Snowbarry is nonexistent. That was made up shortly after Candice Patton a black woman was cast as the leading female. Danielle has baited her racist shippers into thinking Snowbarry could happen. She has boasted about her and Grant’s chemistry right in front of Candice and Carlos and she has disregarded canon for the sake of baiting her SB shippers. Candice Patton has always talked about including more females on the show and Danielle boasts about being the “Only girl in STAR Labs” She even implied that her character Caitlin was jealous of Candice’s character Iris simply because of attention Iris waEs getting from guys. Candice on the other hand says, “That Iris will be fighting over a guy.” Danielle never once mentions Candice or her character in an interview but completely gets excited over Emily Bett Rickard’s character Felicity because “It was great having another female on the show.” Even though she got done bragging about being “The only female in STAR Labs” The worst thing is she tried to pass off a moment of sexual assault/harassment as a cute Snowbarry moment just get her portion of the fan-base excited. Even worse than that she did that in front of Candice and Carlos. Carlos even had to remind her she had her own ship called SnowStorm. In a most recent she did, she was asked about a Snowest friendship (Iris & Caitlin) she didn’t even give a straight answer she said something along the lines of “Iris doesn’t really make a lot of sense in STAR Labs and I am excited to see her journalism arc” and I am like that had absolutely nothing to do with the question that was being asked. Her answer sounded a lot like Iris West Allen haters. I don’t know if Danielle is doing this on purpose because she is mad at the fact she was not cast as the lead or is it because she really is that oblivious to the kind of horrible stuff people say about her female costar? Either way I don’t have much respect for Danielle because she is willfully ignorant to her privilege she has a white woman. Honestly Candice deserves a better female costar than the one she has now.

#9 Alexandra Shipp

She is known for playing Storm and the singer Aaliyah. Storm in the comics is a dark skin full blooded black woman. Alexandra Shipp is a mixed woman. Once again, the casting directors were too lazy to hire someone like Lupita to play Storm. When people expressed how upset they were that Alexandra Shipp was cast as Storm she basically told people to get over it. Okay now on one hand Alexandra is an actress so she should be allowed to play a part without getting back lash. However, the problem is that Hollywood has a long history of casting racially ambiguous/mixed women as all out black female characters who are supposed to be dark skin. Hollywood is colorist as hell. Alexandra basically said she isn’t going to miss any opportunity to audition for a part or take a part even if it is meant for a dark skin woman. As an actress she has a right to do that but the downfall this prove she is unaware of the privilege she has a mixed woman. As a mixed woman myself I believe we should be using our privilege to help up lift dark skin women. Media shits on black women enough and it’s even worse when mixed women who are half black are helping this problem. Sadly, Alexandra Shipp isn’t the only woman guilty of this. Yara Shahidi and Amandla Stenberg will acknowledge their privilege as mixed women but then turn around take parts meant for full on dark skin black girls. That is so hypocritical and this trend Hollywood and in media in general really need to die. So, I hope that these women stop doing this and really do something to fight against the colorism in Hollywood.

#8 Julie Plec

I have only watched to season 1 episode 7 of The Vampire Diaries. I have watched clips online too. Three reasons I have trouble getting through that show. One Damon is an abusive asswipe, two Delena and three Bonnie Bennet’s piss poor treatment. I put Julie Plec on this list because she called Delena sexy and treats her one black character the worst out of all the characters on the show. She is entitled to her opinion on Delena. However, my question is what is exactly sexy about an abusive relationship? Damon has raped and abused Elena and her friends, has killed several people she has care about because she didn’t do what he wanted, the biggest example is that when Elena rejected Damon he murdered her brother by snapping his neck. Yet she calls that a sexy relationship? She sabotaged Stelena and Bamon actual healthy relationships to force an unhealthy couple. The only time Damon is likable is when he is around Bonnie. Bamon on the show didn’t happen because Bonnie is black. They happened in the books because Bonnie was white in the books. The fact that Julie Plec can tease ships like Delena and Stelena but is so quick to shut down Bamon shippers is part of the reason racism in fandoms exist. Behavior like that from people like Julie Plec and Danielle Panabaker are only helping fuel a racist fanbase. You can’t tell me Julie has never seen the nasty racist stuff that Kat Graham the actress and Bonnie Bennet the character gets. If she has seen it and said nothing, then shame on her for not saying anything. Anyways I don’t have too much else to say but when I complete the series of TVD I will make sure to give more thorough opinion on the show and Julie.

#7 Marc Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle (This picture felt right due to my feelings on them)

These two will forever be known as the two idiots who ruined Arrow. I have three big problems with these two. One, their treatment of female characters, two the vast amounts of white washing and three how unprofessional they are. Every female character that has been killed off died in a way where they had no chance to defend themselves. Shado and Moria stabbed with their hands tied behind their backs and killed off for the sake of man pain. Sara Lance shot off a building with arrows while caught off guard. Dinah Laurel Lance Earth 1 the true Black Canary frozen by magic stabbed with an Arrow gets successful surgery only to have a random seizure and die. Really? However, the men on this show no matter how evil get to die as a hero. The worst thing about Laurel’s last moments is that she spent it with Oliver a man who treated her like shit and her last words were spent propping up his relationship with Felicity. Laurel was treated like trash all through out the show. Marc and Wendy didn’t know what character was going in the grave until episode 16. The death took place in episode 18. Katie Cassidy found out two episodes before that her character was going in the grave and she didn’t even find out in person she was told over the phone. So not only are Marc and Wendy unprofessional but they have proven themselves to be incompetent writers. Even John Barroman was dissatisfied at his departure from the show. They are also heavily misogynistic in their writing in the way they kill their female characters without giving them chance to defend themselves as I have mentioned earlier and in the way, they write Felicity. Felicity is written as a jealous bitch. She has been jealous of every single one of Oliver’s relationships. They had her refer to Lian Yu as fantasy Island a place that Oliver describes as his personal hell, just because there were two other women with him on the beach. Now on to the problem of white washing. Arrow has a bad habit of white washing characters. Here is a list of characters that Arrow has white washed https://thenerdsofcolor.org/2015/04/10/white-canary-and-arrows-habit-of-whitewashing/ Arrow also treats characters especially female characters like they are interchangeable. The character Evelyn Sharp is Starling in the comics but because she was introduced the episode after they killed Laurel she got the name Artimis attached to her due to the popularity of the Young Justice character to simply gain them more views. Evelyn Sharp/Starling are characters that have never had a live adaptation so why not do that character instead of mix matching characters. The next character they messed up is Dinah Drake who was established as Laurel’s mom on the show and she is the first Black Canary in the comics. Yet the show introduces to a new Black Canary named Tina Boland whose real name happens to be Dinah Drake. Arrow now has had four different Dinahs two of them being Laurel. Conner Hawk is now randomly John Diggle Junior and they have completely erased the Asian half. William and Samantha are supposed to be Blasian characters named Conner and Sandra Hawk only to be random white washed nobodies. .I hate how they treat their queer/lgbtq characters like trash. They forced a lesbian into a hetero marriage and have their one bi character sleep around. Marc even admitted two bi characters of the oppososite gender hooked up simply because they were both bi. I am sorry to all the LGBTQ people out there for being represented so terribly. Anyways thank god Marc and Wendy won’t be around for season 7 of Arrow. All though sadly their damage of the show will be left behind

#6 Marlene King

She is the writer for Pretty Little Liars and Famous in Love. I put Marlene on this list because of “creative choices” she has made in her shows. In Pretty Little Liars and Famous in Love she had characters statutorily raped and did nothing about it. Toby was raped by two women, one being his step sister Jenna and the second woman being Alex, Spencer’s identical twin sister. For those going to Alex didn’t rape Toby yes, she did because she pretended to be Spencer to trick Toby into having sex with her. Tricking someone into having sex with you is rape. The fact that Toby’s rape from Jenna was played off as a secret love affair is disgusting and purpurates the stereotype that all guys are horny and want sex. This ignores male rape victims. Then I watched the scene where Alex and Toby are “having sex” and the people in the comments are calling it cute just because Alex looks like Spencer. That is so gross. There is nothing cute about watching someone get raped. Then on Famous in Love Nina who is the mother of Jordan’s best friend was having sex with Jordan when he was 16 and she was an adult. All though I am having trouble with that because people say she didn’t know because Jordan lied about his age. I am not sure if that is true but if she didn’t and found out it was her job as the adult to put to a stop to it but if she did know and didn’t care then shame on her and she needs to be in prison in a cell next to Ezra Fitz who I will talk about next. Ezra Fitz purposely stalked four underage girls and started a relationship with one of them knowing full well that she was underage and knew he was going to be her teacher all to write a book about their missing friend who is another underage girl that he had a relationship with. This was never addressed in a nuanced way. Ezra never went to jail or prison. Instead people questioned his relationship with Aria, but not once did they call the police on him. He stalked the four girls while he claimed to be away on business. Then at the end of the series Aria and Ezra get married. Yes, that is right folks Marlene King had a victim marry their statutory rapist/stalker. Sadly, that is not the only abusive couple that ended up together. The one LGBTQ couple that ended up together was abusive and only ended together because of whiny ass fanbase and Emily’s eggs being implanted into Alison without either girl’s knowledge which is a violation of both girl’s bodies. I have gone on in the past on why I hate Emison so if you want to know more read my Top 10 worst couples list where you will find Emison and Ezria. The next problem I have is how Marlene treats poc characters and her lgbtq/queer characters. She treated Paige badly even though Paige had the most common sense. She made a few mistakes but learned from them and she didn’t get the happy ending she deserved. The show Pailey lived together but we don’t get to see that instead we get flash backs of Emison where Alison is abusing Emily. Maya a woman of color who was also bisexual killed off for shock value. Yvonne woman of color Toby’s finance killed off just because of Spoby, Charlette a transgender character made into a villain and killed off, Shauna made into a villain and killed off. Ugh. Anyways Marlene is guilty of promoting abusive relationships by having two be endgame. She is basically saying if “Your abuser is nice to you sometimes then you should give them what they want.

#5 Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis

They are best known for making the show Once Upon A Time. I wrote a long post on deviant art that I will copy and paste here if you want a more thorough explanation but those of you wanting a brief explanation on what my problem with them are here you go. I have four main problems. One, they way the treat male rape victims on the show, two the fact it took them seven seasons to have people of color on the show because prior to that they have been killed off, three the vast amounts of queer baiting they do and four the fact that a woman needs to have a child and a man to have a happy ending. The first lgbtq/queer couple they had were rushed, forced and slapped together and then the two characters were never seen again. It just felt like they wanted brownie points from the lgbtq/queer community for representation. They have had three females on male rape which two out of three of them were done by deception and two out of the three rapes had babies born from this. Okay now here is the long-winded version from Deviant Art about my problems with Adam and Eddie. Its long because it is my review on Once Upon a Time. “There is a lot I am going to say here. These are my overall thoughts on Once Upon a Time and the writers. Not all of this is going to be positive so be prepared. Once Upon A Time was a show I really enjoyed because of the many characters I grew up with got to be done differently and interpreted different ways. I thought the names characters had were quite clever. For example, Cora is the Queen of Hearts and Core means hearts, Regina Mills last named being Mills was because her mom was the Miller's daughter or how Rumpelstiltskin was called Mr. Gold or Detective Weaver because he weaved and spun gold. I loved all the clever names. My favorite story lines were Ruby being the wolf, and her boyfriend being named Peter as a nod to Peter and the wolf. I also enjoyed Ingrid as a character and I enjoyed the show for what it was. However, this show has many problems which I will now get into. The show's main problem is that villains’ actions are not called out properly. The two biggest examples are Regina and Rumple. Regina, has mass murdered three villages worth of people, separated children from their families, locked away Belle in a tower for 28 years and straight up raped Graham and yes folks I said it she RAPED Graham. Several people of asked Adam and Eddy about the Regina raping Graham argument and they have dismissed the argument by saying it Graham was Regina's sex slave. This isn't the only problem with Regina. She has committed so many heinous crimes and none of her main victims have called her out for it they just give her a free pass because "She's good now". Once Upon A Time has a huge problem with rape in general. Adam and Eddy have written three female on rape cases and never once bothered to address any of them. Two out of three of the came a child and two out of three rape victims ended up dying by murder basically and it was never dealt with again. Zelena killed Marion a woman of color (We are getting to that soon) shape shifted into her then raped Robbin Hood who was dating Regina at the time. Then Zelena gets pregnant and names her daughter Robin? Why? I truly believe it was to spite Regina and rub it in her face that she can't bear children of her own. What the hell were Adam and Eddy thinking naming Zelena's baby Robin? Then Gothel raped Nook/Wish Hook and had Alice. Why won't they address this issue. What about Emma and Neal. Neal aka Bealfire is over 300 years old or 24 for safety and Emma was 16 or 17 years old. No one thought that relationship was weird? I feel conflicted about Swanfire. The most problematic relationship to me is Rumbelle, it’s so awful even the actress who plays Belle hates the relationship. Why did Adam and Eddy make that a relationship at all? Rumple did nothing but lie and deceive Belle. He murdered Milah twice and now he can't respect Belle. It is honestly the most emotionally abusive relationship I have seen. These writers tried to shove it off as a dysfunctional relationship. It was that all right but it was very emotionally abusive and just really creepy. Rumple went so far as stalking Belle by putting a tracker bracelet on her and showed up at the library when Belle clearly didn't want him there. Belle honestly should have ended up with Ruby, Graham or Adam who was never introduced. Moving on from Rumblle up next the show's problems are how they treat their characters of color. Up until season seven there were no main characters of color. The characters were either one offs, or they died too soon. Rapunzel who was black appeared once and never mentioned again despite being a popular story, Gus Gus dies, Ursula basically a one off never seen again, Sydney a black man brought on and used as a slave or indentured servant depending on how you look at it either way bad. Tamera Neal's girlfriend killed off by Rumple, Mulan an Asian bisexual woman never got a happy ending but was there to cape for the white characters. The Dragon guy killed off, Merlyn dead, and many others have died as well. The next problem is the queer baiting on this show. This show took five seasons to give us a lgbtq couple and it was rushed, and they weren't seen again. The two most popular couples are Sleeping Warrior and Swan Queen. Sleeping Warrior was the closest thing to a healthy lgbtq interracial relationship. We were so close but nope Aurea had to get pregnant with Prince Philip's baby and they won't even let Mulan say she was in love with Aurea which really pisses me off because the writers have established her as bisexual but won't allow her a happy ending or a chance at true love. The only main canon lgbtq couple we got were Robbin and Alice. I think if Mulan were a white woman and in season 7 she would have gotten a happy ending and a wonderful love interest. (All though Mulan is Asian and should stay Asian because, I hate white washing) Swan Queen all though I am not big on it I do see why people ship it. All though can people take a minute and realize that Emma and Regina are step granddaughter and step grandmother? Then again Emma married her almost step father in law so this show is close to having incestuous relationship so why shouldn't they give Regina and Emma a chance? My biggest problem with the show is how Emma got treated like shit by the fandom and the writers. Emma who tried to save Marion's life had to apologize to Regina for "ruining her chances with Robin or making her life more complicated?" Excuse me but Regina was going to murder Emma as a baby, Regina is the whole reason Emma didn't have a family for 28 years of her life. Regina can drink a tall glass of STFU. Seriously these writers coddle the hell out of Regina and it is annoying as hell. As I said before Regina has kidnapped an entire town by cursing them, she raped Graham for 28 years and she mass murdered thousands upon thousands of people. He told Regina "You were the first person to love me." Excuse me but this kid was going to build an armory against her and ran away to Emma. Yeah Regina isn't abusive. Adam and Eddy also think that happy endings mean children and other true love. Really characters like Regina and Rumple should work hard to improve themselves but nope corners were crossed for those two and they got happy endings meanwhile good characters such as Mulan, Facillar, Milah, and many other characters who were actual good people didn't get a happy ending. Yet mass murdering rapists got happy endings that is so messed up. In conclusion Adam and Eddy are misogynistic assholes and have proven to be racist in their writing. They have also don't care about lgbtq people, male rape victims and the people of color on their show. I also found it really insulting that they portrayed women as incomplete if they couldn't bear children of their own. All in all, Once Upon a Time could have been a great show but instead it was mediocre.”

#4 Kanye West

If there were a contest on being the most arrogant and most full of yourself person Kanye would either win first place or he would take second to his in laws/his wife. He is colorist, he is an attention whore and he said that slavery is a choice. I hope he meant the mind set of slavery is a choice but I highly doubt it but I highly doubt it. He put a confederate flag on his clothing line. I have seen the price of his clothing is way too expensive. $200 for a shirt all because it says Yeeze? Then again there are purses that cost more than that just because the purse has the word Coach on it. His wife who isn’t even black takes things from black culture but never pays respect to the culture she is borrowing from and Kanye just supports this. Kanye has bashes other types music just because it is not his own and he is just so full of himself. He even said he supports Donald Trump which his right, but he probably said that for attention too. Anyways I have never really cared for Kanye I can’t say too much else about him.

#3 James Gunn

He directed both Guardians of the Galaxy movies which are both great. However, I don’t think he will be directing the third since he was recently fired over some ten-year-old tweets. Now tweets shouldn’t get someone fired but if you are making several jokes about pedophilia then that is probable cause to be to be fired. James Gunn made these tweets in his forties and never deleted them. First off why is James Gunn making several jokes about pedophile at the age of 40? He is now 50 and he didn’t use his common sense back then to know those are not things you joke about? Second why is that type of thing on his mind. He didn’t just make one joke about it he made several jokes about child molestation. If that is on his mind constantly then he needs to be psychologically evaluated. I honestly hope he hasn’t acted on the pedophilia because the fact that is something on his mind at age 40 is terrifying and he needs serious help.

#2 Robert Sylvester Kelly/R Kelly

He refers to himself as the Pied Piper of R&B. Which is ironically fitting since he the Pied Piper is known for kidnapping children. R Kelly is one of the most talented singers I have ever heard in my life. I listened to his music growing up. He “wrote” the song “I believe I can fly” and the song “Ignition” Now for those wondering why I put the word in qoutioans its because R Kelly is illiterate he can’t read or write. I am serious he is not dyslexic he has never learned to read or write according to his brother Carrey and Wendy William. Now as I said before R Kelly is one of the most talented singers but sadly he is also one of the most garbage human beings I have ever had the displeasure of hearing about. Where do I even start? There have been stories since the early 90’s of him being a predator. He would hang out at middle schools in Chicago as an adult picking up young girls, and promising[HK1] them money, gift cards and McDonalds. The girls he did get to come to his house he kept him them in their rooms or the basement, forced the girls to call him daddy and made them perform sexual acts on him. He pissed on a fourteen girl and married the singer Aaliyah when she was 15 and he was 27 at the time. One day R Kelly will go to jail. I think the reason he stayed out of prison for so long are for two reasons. Number one he is famous and loads of money to pay people off and two he targets young black girls/women who are the least protected group in America. Anyways R Kelly needs to be in prison in solitary confinement until the day he dies. He is disgusting, and he is probably just as disgusting as my next choice for my number one pick.

#1 Gregory Daniel Jackson

He is better known by his YouTube alias Onision. He is a famous youtuber who tries to be like Shane Dawson in video style and in hair style. I put him on the list for the countless fucked-up things he has done to basically gain attention. He has met all his wives and his current wife over the internet while they were either 16 or 17. He was an adult at the time. He flies these women out to his house and has isolated them from their families. He put his first wife on blast because she didn’t want to have sex with him and gave out the number of partners she had as revenge for not wanting to have sex with him. The number was pretty high, then after treating her like garbage he left her several voice mails. He only encouraged it to for his benefit. He killed his pet turtle/tortoise and to this day he will not admit that he did it. He put his turtle in on the grass put a plastic container upside down over the turtle and left it in the sun for two hours. He never owns up to what he did wrong and when he does he always makes himself out to be the victim. He has made jokes on self-harm, 9/11 and sexual abuse. He has made fun of people who struggle with their weight, eating disorders. He says things but later goes on to deny them. Anyways, he isn’t worth watching but if you plan on watching his videos I advise you to watch with caution. I almost forgot to mention people have had to call animal control on his ass. I pray he goes to prison soon. He even had to get a lawyer to find out if his marriage to his wife was legal or not. He lied about being honorably discharged from the military. Anyways, Onision is a narcissist, a sociopath and psychopath. He needs to go to prison and he doesn’t need to be making youtube videos. I forgot to mention if you are a meat eater Onion boy will hate on you wish death on you and get on his high horse on he is better than you because he doesn’t eat meat. He has done that in the past.

I accidentally made up a ship/storyline for a show that doesn’t exist...yet. AKA: I think I just gave Hope Mikaelson a girlfriend through unwritten fanfiction...

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS A HOT MESS THAT WAS WRITTEN AT THREE IN THE MORNING!!!

Alright, so you know the upcoming show Legacies? The spin off of The Originals (which was a spin off of The Vampire Diaries). Well, because my imagination is weird AF and has no bounds for some reason (I truly don’t know why) my brain accidentally gave the protagonist (17 year old Hope) a girlfriend who is portrayed by Olivia Holt.

Her name would be Elizabeth (I can’t choose a last name yet and yes, I know about Lizzie Saltzman. Shush up.) she’s a bit older than Hope but less than 20. I created this whole damn backstory too. When she was younger she and her older brother were being raised by some shitty (ish) parents who got in trouble with Klaus who killed them but spared and compelled the two kids (who were about 15ish at the time) somehow, someway Elizabeth gets seperated from her brother for years and dies at a party from suffocation, or freezing to death, or drowning, or a car crash or something and she wakes up alone in the middle of a dark road (or field) in transition and she just eats anything with a heartbeat since she doesn’t have a clue what’s going on only to be found by Caroline who takes her in and gets her to stay at the boarding school before Caroline leaves.

There’s this whole thing where Alaric is introducing this new student (Elizabeth) and Hope is watching and while it’s not “love at first sight” it’s something. Hope has no interest in gaining a friend and Elizabeth has no interest in being one but she does step in when the Saltzman twins are being high school brats to Hope. (Fun fact: Elizabeth and Lizzie become great frenemies because they share the same name).

Season 1: Overtime Hope and Elizabeth become really good friends. Elizabeth actually finds out that Klaus (the one who killed her parents) is actually Hope’s father and while Hope’s worried she’s about to lose a friend, Elizabeth doesn’t hold it against her and doesn’t even completely hate Klaus (don’t get me wrong, she doesn’t like him either) The whole ordeal actually makes their friendship stronger. Don’t think I forgot about Landon. Hope has her whole...thing with Landon because Hope and Elizabeth aren’t like that (yet) for all of season 1

If there’s a season 2 (because who knows what the eff is going on with that show) then there’s this buildup to Hope and Elizabeth getting together. In the last episode of season 2 there would be this scene where Hope is about to go fight the latest big bad (that Elizabeth doesn’t know about yet) and before she leaves, Hope corners Elizabeth to the door and just plants one on her and before she leaves Elizabeth spins her so that she is the one cornering Hope and plants an even bigger one on her. (With sassy commentary of course).

Season 3 hits and Hope and Elizabeth are in this random phase where they’re not dating per say but would be super jealous if they saw anybody else than each other. (And no one wants Hope losing her shit) and in the first episode, the main characters go see some prophet witch who tells Hope that death will come for those she loves/there’s no “hope” for her. Something along those lines. And it takes up until the winter finale for them to get their shit together and (sleep together, or just literally sleep together, your choice) and while Hope is asleep Elizabeth sneaks out to help some other main characters with a clue on that season’s big bad only for it to be a trap and Elizabeth gets staked and there are parallels between Hope sleeping and Elizabeth dying and then fade to black.

Season 3B: Starts up at the same spot, Elizabeth is still dead and Hope has no idea but if she finds out, she will lose control which is bad because it ties into the big bad winning somehow. So the other people part of the wonder gang get Lizzie Saltzman to pretend to be Elizabeth and distract Hope long enough for them to resurrect Elizabeth, (Spoiler alert: Hope finds out) Skip a bunch of episodes later. Hope is cradling Elizabeth’s body and remember that prophet witch I mentioned earlier? She’s back and pretty much tells Hope that even if Elizabeth comes back she’ll still be in danger of that old curse. The loophole is that Elizabeth can’t be a loved one if she doesn’t remember loving Hope. (Delena and/or Elijah much? Yeah, I know) So they bring her back using that spell that John used to save Elena but using Hope and since she’s technically dies she becomes undead because yes, she’s becoming a tribrid at the end of the third season. I like puns. With the help of the gemini twins, Hope gets Marcel to come in and erase Elizabeth’s memory (remember when he said he’d be there for her? Well, now’s the time) The season ends with Elizabeth pretty much with where she was at the start of my fictional season one and with Hope on the run with Lizzie or Joise (your choice) who’s going through some shit too. Maybe Hope turns it off, maybe it stays on, who knows?

Season 4:The wonder gang scrambles to find Hope and Lizzie (the Saltzman one) while Elizabeth scrambles to find her memories. Also, Elizabeth’s brother is back and he may or may not be tied in with the big bad of the season. Big Hope and Elizabeth reunion of course.

Have I mentioned that their ship name would be “Elope?” That is not changing and you can fight me on that.

So yeah, it’s 3:16 and my brain is exploding. I didn’t know what to do with this, it’s a hot mess but it wouldn’t leave me alone. Kudos to you if you read the whole thing. Also, I know they’re oddly placed GIFs but I like them. They’re not mine, credit to the original owner/maker. Sorry.

Julie absolutely shit all over Klaroline and it’s fans. She didn’t go for Bamon simply because she is racist AF. I hate Damon so never shipped him with anyone, but honestly any fan free from shipping bias could see that true organic writing would have been developing Bamon. It was there, it felt like a natural progression, the actors wanted it, but Bonnie was never going to get a lead romance because the writers are racist. Fans of TVD and TO know that if a new character is black, they will die.

I mean Candice said that K*aroline wasn’t suppose to happen at first. (Heard that putting Caroline with Enzo might have been planned at some point.) But, that some of KC interactions with any romantic undertones happened due to the attention and buzz that the ship was getting online.

Plec and Carina for sure had certain times where they tried to use the KC fandom to their advantage to help promote TVD/TO, I’m sure that Plec tweeted about KC twitter trends or whatever buzz that they got online and said just enough to keep them invested.

Even KC having sex in the forest could have most likely been due to the buzz they got online and JP trying to give them something as an award for their dedication to their ship. Just like she right out said that the DE rain kiss was a way to reward that fandom.

For a few seasons when Klaus was on TO and Caroline on TVD, Plec did put KC on the back burner because she had SC to focus on. While she knew that she could still try to fan bait and fan service with Delena.

But, she also knew that KC was also in her back pocket, since she loves to cater to Elena/Caroline’s most popular ships. Knowing that if she does that those fandoms will give him the praise and validation she is constantly seeking and feel like she deserves from her writing.

Once TVD ended and she couldn’t fan service or fan bait with DE anymore. She pulled KC out of her pocket. And ever since it was announced that Candice was going to TO. She and Carina made sure to fan bait/ship bait with all of their promoting of and focus on KC leading up to TO this season,

Even though not everyone ships or agrees with the same Bonnie ship, it is obviously clear on why Plec embraces catering to each of Caroline/Elena’s most popular ships. But, never did any of Bonnie’s. Instead putting her with Jeremy and Enzo the least popular Bonnie ships or the least male characters she was requested to be with.

Elena and Caroline are white, so Plec eagerly and gladly makes sure to write for their most popular ships, And loves to write for them to be fawned over, adored, and sought after by the most desirable males on the show.

She loved to make Elena the center of attention and have it written that Elena’s life was so much more valuable and precious than others. Especially compared to Bonnie’s life.

And Caroline was basically written like a 2nd female lead, with the plots and stories that focused on her.

While Bonnie was treated like she was 2nd class and worthless. She was kept in a box of always having to sacrifice herself for her white friends, Constantly dying and suffering for them and putting them above her. And this was suppose to be an “honorable” characteristic for Bonnie. As if we should be okay with this if Plec tried to paint her as being loyal and selfish. But, it happened so much that it just became a serious flaw in Bonnie’s character.

Not only did Plec just threw Bonnie in half assed written “romances” as a way to shut Bonnie fans up, She treated writing for Bonnie as a whole as some unwanted chore that she was asked to do. Like someone who does a chore in the laziest, quickest way possible to get it over with and out of the way.

Plec gave Bonnie the least effort that she could and gave her scraps just to stay that she “wrote something” for Bonnie. Yet, at the same time believed she should get praise as if she wrote ground breaking things for Bonnie.

She had a vendetta inside of her for Kat and resented Bonnie. And took that resentment out on in her writing for Bonnie. You could see her dislike for Bonnie come out in the poor way Bonnie was treated. She also resented the Bonnie fandom for making her face up to her inner racism that she doesn’t want to admit to.

Calling Bonnie fans “rabid” for asking for certain ships. Even though many time she was just @ about us requesting for her to stop writing Bonnie as the sacrificial lamb, to stop having Bonnie always suffer and go through heart break, and simply for Bonnie to be treated on a more equal level as Caroline/Elena.

But, Plec refused and often doubled down on Bonnie being willing to die for one of the white characters. She can try to brush off her getting upset at Bonnie shippers or us being “mean” and therefore according to her rabid over ships.

Yet, the Delena fandom has gone out and sent death threats to Kat, @ Kat about how they hoped she would die. Harassed and bullied Kat anytime she mentioned Bamon or said something TVD related they didn’t like.

Receipts are out there of them calling Bonnie a N***** and comparing her to a slave. While saying racist things both out right and coded language. The Delena fandom has wished for Ian’s wife to miscarry a baby and talked about how they hoped that Somereed’s baby get sick and suffer for Ian/Nikki to watch.

Despite the countless receipts of them bullying, harassing, sending death threats and making racist remarks. Plec still calls them “passionate” and caters to them. So, “rabid shippers” isn’t something she truly has a problem with. It’s giving the black woman character a proper love interest, with a well developed, cared for, fair and equally written story she has a problem with.

Just like many white women she makes herself the victim when she is called out on it. She herself and others will deny her racist and that her Anti-blackness played a role in how she wrote for Bonnie. Some deny it because she doesn’t come right out and scream racial slurs.

But, some white women tend to show their racism in more subtle, underhanded ways. Which is clearly the case with Julie Plec. She does coded language in her writing.

Starting off with the hardest question XD I guess I’ll go with the ship I’m focused on now. It’s Karan and Preeta from Kundali Bhagya. My love for them is so new and fresh, I love this feeling! Don’t get me wrong, Shivika have and always will have a special place in my heart. But currently, Karan and Preeta are ruling it haha. OH ALSO Khushi and Arnav from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. They’re so special to me.

what was your first ship, and what fandom is it from?

Omg trying to think back and it all depends on the fandom because I have been shipping before I even knew what it was. Sujal and Kashish from the show Kahin To Hoga were for SURE my first HARDCORE ship. Where, back in the day, you had to rent VHS tapes that had 6 or 7 episodes on it and then you had to wait WEEKS for the next one. Kids these days don’t understand the struggle haha

how did you start shipping [pairing]?

My mom used to watch dramas when I was a kid and I always watched them with her. Despite not knowing what was happening half the time, I still enjoyed them until I became old enough to actually understand. Indian Dramas were my gateway to shipping everything and anything ahha

what’s a ship you like that most people don’t?

Um..In terms of western TV, probably Delena from The Vampire Diaries. I know there are many people who love them, but they get so much shit and the way they were treated on the show, it’s understandable why because after while I stopped shipping them (Julie Plec ruins everything she touches)

what is the most underrated ship, in your opinion?

Om and Gauri from Ishqbaaaz/Dil Boley Oberoi 1000000% They have SO much potential and they’re basically treated like trash compare to Shivika which isn’t fair. I understand why so many people jumped ship on that one. I still love them, but with the content the actors are given, there’s only so much they can do with it.

do you prefer [pairing] as an otp, brotp, or notp?

Since there’s no specific pairing asked for this question, I’m just gonna leave this one :)

why do you think [pairing] isn’t popular?

Again there is no pairing asked for this one, but the one that comes to mind is Bhavya and Rudra from Ishqbaaaz. Yet another example where writing doesn’t do the pairing justice. I’ve talked about this before on my Ishqbaaaaz blog, but basically they expected too much of the audience bringing in a new love interest for Rudra without really wrapping up his storyline with Saumya They were left up in the air and they were never given closure. Investing time and energy into a ship and then having it taken away without any warning and then being expected to just magically love the new pairing isn’t fair. This happens in Indian dramas all the time, actors leave, characters are replaced. But it’s HOW you do it that matters. The writers didn’t do Rudra, Saumya and Bhavya justice.

what’s your favorite headcanon of [pairing]?

For any ship I ship, I always love the idea of a hospital storyline. Where Person A gets into a life threatening accident and Person B is worried as hell for them. In KB, Karan had a near death experience and Preeta was LOSING IT. Now I want to see it the other way around. IS THAT ASKING TOO MUCH?

favorite AU ideas for [pairing]?

I would love to see Shivaay and Annika in their college years. I think it woul’ve been hilarious to see the kind of antics they would get up to.

Thank you for asking my question about Delena so well! I was worried that it came off as attacking you.I have trouble conveying exactly what I want to say in the way I want to say it, especially in the limited space we have here! I was hoping you could also talk about why you love Rogan more than Literati and Java junkie, both of which are more popular in the fandom? I feel the exact same way as you do but have trouble articulating the reasons.

Hi! Sorry this took so long but my inspiration comes and goes!

You didn’t attack me at all. You were respectful and polite. I don’t mind it when people question my ships in a non-judgmental way. It’s perfectly fine. I love discussions of any kind even if I am ill quipped to participate in some of them.

Now... Literati... I don’t genuinely have any ill feelings toward this ship. It’s temporary, a part of Rory’s past. I think Jess and Dean were contrasting relationships that showed Rory how different love and people could be. Dean was stable, willing to sacrifice his time to do things Rory liked, pushy and expected too much devotion at times. Jess, on the other hand, had issues, was often not there for Rory, didn’t communicate or share his life, didn’t indulge her.

Still, Jess was young and grew out of it, they developed a nice friendship, and it should remain that way.

Logan was perhaps a mix of Dean and Jess. He wasn’t suffocating at times like Dean, but more present than Jess. Logan and Rory share common interests that go beyond literature: a love for debate, for excitement, to be a part of life and engage in it (Rory wants to “see things” and Logan is much the same, even if in a different way). Logan pushes her but knows when not to. He’s fun but dedicated. He loves the city life and the small town life (Dean and Jess loved one of those only). He is also very self aware, and, as such, the person who grew the most in his relationship with Rory. He was capable of admitting to his mistakes and changing accordingly. Jess changed outside of his relationship with Rory and was incapable of doing it with her. However, Rory and Logan went through huge changes in their relationship and were able to remain a couple. Rory also shares her worries with Logan, and goes to her when she needs to talk to someone. She didn’t do this with Jess or Dean.

Logan and Rory are just a better fit and share a deeper love that goes beyond excitement, novelty or lust. She doesn’t love Logan because he was the new bad boy in town or because he was there and showed interest. Their love was built more slowly and every stage of their relationship added another layer to it.

JavaJunkie is just “a shit show” (quoting Crazy Ex-Girlfriend here). Two adults who have had relationships in the past but are incapable of compromising, sharing, understanding each other, growing together, etc. They break up and make up constantly, never learning from their hiccups. They also have incompatible personalities and don’t get much enjoyment out of their relationship. They might love each other but are surely old enough to realize there are more important things sometimes? They never put any effort into fixing the relationship. They simply spend sometime apart, miss each other, give up on being apart and get together again, ignoring everything that led to the breakup in the first place. They’re just unhealthy and not entertaining to watch in the slightest.

We’re starting to get somewhere {TVD 1x05 Review}

Hi all! Welcome to the fifth review of TVD season 1. Considering that I haven’t like sat down to watch a full episode of the past seasons of TVD in a few years and my memory might not be the greatest I think I will start with my usual disclaimer: I write my thoughts in real time so if I make a mistake at the beginning of this post, it will be corrected by the end. There will be anti-Damon and anti-Delena sentiments (I’m only mentioning these two because it’s the beginning of the series), and in light of recent events I feel the need to say that there may be some anti-Jenna sentiments too. I will probably bring up other shows and call attention to misogynoir, racism, anti-blackness etc. Also I do not have MS Word right now so I wrote this on Kingsoft, which is eh, so some of the formatting might be off. Ready? Let’s go.

1. “In the dark ages, when a vampire’s actions would bring harm or exposure to the entire race, they would face judgement, they sought to reeducate them than to punish them.” So, like, there IS a culture of vampires with certain traditions that Stefan knows but we never ever talk about it, and this line indicates that there is a governing body, which we never explore or hear about ever again. Such a missed opportunity.

2. “And then in 50 years we’ll reevaluate.” It’s actually a good plan and Stefan is a methodical thinker.

3. LOL I like how Elena is more horrified about what’s happening with Vicki and Jeremy than Jenna. “He could at least be craftier about it, make more of an effort to sneak her in and out.” Like if she’s going to be THAT kind of guardian then she should be proactive about it. Set a place for Vicki at the table, tell them to use condoms, and not sneak her in because if they’re going to have sex she’d at least want to know they’re being safe and they can be all, “Eew! Jenna!” but at least she’s DOING something.

4. I would respect Jenna’s presence a lot more if the show was like “we needed her here so CPS won’t come” except Matt and Vicki are virtually living on their own so Elena and Jeremy could’ve done so as well because Jenna literally serves no purpose #sorrynotsorry

5. I do love Elena mimicking Stefan though because it’s kind of on point. “Hi, uh ... Elena, uh...” LOL SHE IS NOT IMPRESSED and I think it shows how new yet how familiar they are with each other.

6. “Honestly, I’m not going to be one of those pathetic girls whose world stops spinning because of some guy!”

9. “I have to be home after school but The Grill, around 4 o’clock?” So when does school end and how long does it take you to get home and then to The Grill from home? Because I finished school at 3:15 so like ... cutting it kind of close, Stefan? At least say 4:30.

10. I do like that Elena is pissed at Stefan but still wearing the SE, sorry the “DE”, necklace, it’s like when Buffy ws calling Angel a stalker but was still wearing his leather jacket, like OK, girl.

11. Elena, why would you ask Matt if he’d seen Stefan? That boy is lost in love with you, he done told you he wasn’t give up on you two, like have some tact.

12. I like how it was supposed to be this huge thing that Elena played pull with Damon in 1x11 but she was playing pool with Matt in 1x05 and he even gets her to stick around by teasing, “I’ll let you break” like you are not special, Damon.

13. Zach is stupid, Damon is coughing and you go to the cellar, why?

14. Zach is indulging Damon and I don’t even know why. Like if the coughing was bothering you so much then take a walk.

15. And see, you get choked out. And I don’t even feel bad.

16. Also, Elena isn’t talking about Vicki like she’s Matt’s sister.

17. “How late is it?” “Hitting the hour mark.” Seriously, Stefan, 4:00?

18. So Tiki’s grandfather is all “I know you” to Stefan and Elena turns around to look at Tiki’s grandfather so she’s standing next to Stefan and my God, they’re a gorgeous couple. Like we already knew that but sometimes there’s a moment where Nina and Paul stand next to each other and you’re like WOW, it reminds me of my friend and his boyfriend, like I’d hung out with them many times before but I was coming down the stairs at a party one night, kinda buzzed and I just saw them sitting together and they looked SO hot and I was like holy shit they’re a sexy couple and my other friend came and was like Zal, what’s up and I was like aren’t they a hot couple? And she was like YES and we just spent a good ten minutes with three other people marvelling about how hot they were and that’s how I feel right now.

19. Although Elena getting upset that an old man thinks he knows Stefan is weird, like the fact that the old man DOES know Stefan aside, Elena doesn’t know he’s a vampire yet, so I don’t think I would be suspicious of that, I’d be like lol ok old man, how many scotches have YOU had?

20. I do think it’s adorable that Elena storms home mad so then Stefan essentially just shows up like “So I’m cooking you dinner” and I love that Jeremy is in on it: “Jeremy told me that chicken parmasean is one of your favourites” because like how did that go? Did Stefan have Jeremy’s number or find him at The Grill somewhere like, I totally screwed up with Elena and I want to make it up to her to apologize, what does she ... I already got her a book, what’s her favourite dish? I can cook!

21. “He claims that he was with her first, I don’t know...” it’s funny because I usually sort of just overlook this line but the fact that Stefan doesn’t know when the timeline with him and Damon and Katherine began is because he was compelled. His memories came back when he turned, yes, but there are still things he wouldn’t know because it was only with Damon whereas Damon knew everything, Damon knew that Stefan was going to be Katherine’s escort to the Founder’s Ball and listened to their conversation in Katherine’s room. Like it’s actually really fucked up that Damon knew everything that was happening and didn’t think to protect Stefan from it. And I would be more ... understanding if there was also a sort of fear with Katherine? If Damon WAS like, he’s just a kid but I’m a man, maybe it should just be you and me and Katherine vamps out on him and chokes him and is like, “My game, my rules, understand?” but nothing like that happens, SO.

22. I really don’t get what it is that Jeremy sees in Vicki.

23. “But I am no snob” Stefan, honey, you’re a pop culture snob, it’s OK though.

24. These SE smiles, KILL ME.

25. Something else I just noticed! When Elena cuts her finger and Stefan vamps out, he turns away to hide his face and Elena is trying to get him to turn around and see but he won’t let her:

And in 1x10 the same thing happens except she tells him not to hide from her sohe obliges:

That is called development within the narrative.

26. I also enjoy this scene because it shows the tensions between both of Stefan’s worlds, Elena is getting to know the man Stefan, his interests, his hobbies, they’re vibing but then she cuts her finger and his vampirism springs forward so his other side is always there lurking beneath and he’s battling it to get to know her, to be with her. SE is poetic in a lot of ways, guys, ways in which DE and SC just can’t touch.

27. I also like that Stefan leans forward to kiss her but stops because he isn’t sure if it’s what she wants and Elena fucking sighs and kisses him like YES YOU IDIOT.

28. And then she pulls away and Stefan reaches forward for another kiss. Omg they’re adorbz.

29. So how exactly can Damon reach out to Caroline? Is it just because he fed on her?

30. Seriously, his terrorizing of Caroline just never fucking ends.

31. I do like that she was talking to Tiki about swimsuits because not everything has to be directly related to plot.

32. Omg why do they KEEP going down to the damn basement. Stefan I get that he’s your brother but the whole point is for him to desiccate and you said it would take a week. Come back in a week, fam. Or at least don’t TALK to him.

33. Lol these dorks trying to get the other to undress.

34. The Tiki and Bonnie thing still pisses me off.

35. Jenna and Logan ... Like, I guess.

36. They could’ve given Candice a better two piece.

37. I mean this could’ve been a scene where Stefan is topless for longer than 30 seconds but they chose not to and I’m just like but, like, why?

38. Elena is equally bad at lying to Stefan. You two need to try and stop lying to each other because you both see through the other.

39. Jenna, aren’t you supposed to be like a frazzled 26 year old Masters or PhD student but you have time to wait around for an hour for a man you ran away from town because of? I mean, I guess.

40. Vicki, Jeremy’s parents are dead, do you not think it’s a little disrespectful to take him to a cemetery to get wasted?

41. “You bit me.” “You liked��it, remember?” “Why do I keep remembering the same things but in different ways?” “You remember what I want you to remember.” Oh but Damon didn’t rape Caroline, right?

42. I completely forgot that Damon chases Caroline throughout the Salvatore house to kill and feed on her but she only got away because he didn’t have his daylight ring. And people ask me to disregard season 1 Daroline?

43. They really shunt Bonnie’s witch storyline to the side until they need her to help Damon and Elena.

44. Vicki’s speech to Jeremy is stupid. I get there is a class difference between them and Vicki would be full of rage because of that and her absentee mom but, like, TVD doesn’t do it well enough for me to think she’s anything more than a brat especially in the context of the speech. Jeremy is rightfully angry because Vicki stole Elena’s pills from his house and they’re getting high in a cemetery which could be triggering to him and he calls the people they’re getting high with waste of space small town lifers and she gets angry like well what am I? But when has Jeremy EVER made her feel like she’s a waste of space? And her saying if she wants to feel like crap she can go back to Tyler is like ... You stole from his house, though. I don’t know, the context is all wrong, at least with Matt and Caroline when she makes a crack about him being a busboy, Matt being upset makes sense. In Friday Night Lights, I felt for Tyra who basically has the same storyline as Vicki and I can’t decide if it’s because of the writing or the acting.

45. Caroline is SO rude to Liz. And Liz is trying. I get that Caroline is traumatized by what happened but her hostility toward Liz in season 1 is literally something I never got. And please no one say “it’s just a teen thing” because no.

46. Elena finding out Stefan is a vampire and then immediately going to his house alone being like what are you??? Is like so you must know he won’t hurt you because you’re not being cautious at ALL.

Long Ass Rant About Black Sails/LJS/Flint/Madi and Why Treasure Island is the God in which The BS Producers are Honoring....

Look, seriously, I can be an ass when people make me but I’m going to say my last piece ( probably not lol) on current events happening in Black Sails. This show was never about ships though as with all shows one starts shipping. The Silver/Flint fandom has had dominance for two years and midway through in pops Madi...John Silver’s actual love interest from the books and people are either ok and rolling with this or ignorant, bitter, and using the most transparents excuses available to devalue her meaning not only to the story but the Flint. She’s the one “ getting in the way” making Silver “ do things he wouldn’t” when that is so far removed from the truth I realize that a great deal of these people have championed and rallied behind this ship so long that they literally have had two years of warping the story in their head without much direct competition from the idea. I get that. I actually do. I recently had my heart shattered by Bamon but like Silver/Flint I clearly saw what the show kept saying but I chose to ignore it because I had hope they would put these two together but they didn’t.

I’m not in anybody’s tag screaming bloody murder. Actually this is the first time I have even brought up my disappointment because in the end I am an adult and despite me being salty af about it I also know that the show didn’t really deceive me when I step back and actually look at it. They kept hammering nauseatingly that Delena was endgame and that Bonnie and Damon were best friends. I wanted something else. The writers however were ALWAYS (grrr) telling a different story and I am mature enough to accept this despite all the million reasons I can list that make my ship more valid. It doesn’t matter. TVD doesn’t owe me anything. Black Sails does not owe the Silver/Flint fandom anything.

This show was constructed around the mysteries in Treasure Island. It does bother me that a great deal of people don’t even comprehend the character LJS. You don’t have to read the book to know that he is the most infamous pirate for a great deal of reasons. One being his ruthlessness but that is attributed to his cunning and charm. Tes, LJS is the most charming person one can meet. He’s also smart. When we are introduced the the pirate world, the “ Golden Age” has diminished because no one is rallied behind a common cause or desire. Pirates are slothy creatures that are major alcoholics and spendthrift theifs with no rules or honor code. LJS has made something of himself or I should say, John Silver has and it is mentioned for all of five seconds bu Hands that LJS cares about two things in the world; his fortune and his wife. He is a pirate but he leads no pirate resistance.

I am not sure what TS meant when he said LJS turns into a miserable person. I have no why he interprets the character as such but as the guy playing Flint and what he stood for I could see him having a biased opinion of the character. LA has never stated his character as miserable and again the source material is that. *SPOILER ALERT* but LJS gets his part of the treasure, Flint’s portion to be exact. Maybe TS meant LJS becomes more cold and heartless and cynical. I don’t see that as a bad thing considering he’s been a pawn between two men for a great deal of time. The point is, the mysteries this show is addressing as the prequel is Flint’s story, the reason Flint feared LJS, the story of Silver’s African wife , the story of the treasure, and the story of how did Billy Bones piss off LJS to the point of stroke.

That’s the story they are telling and yes while there are historical changes the the events that happen to these characters are going to have to coincide with the source material. In the words of James S.A. Corey who is currently doing the show Expanse of whom they wrote but also adapted the TV series format and made changes stated, “ you want to make changes that tell the story better but you don’t want to mess with it too much, Especially a successful story less you take away from the story the fans are fond of. If it’s not broken leave it alone” Point being that while Shotz and company have changed death scenes and added characters to this world it will all tie back to T.I. ultimate canon. Flint will die. He will die alone. You can imagine a Thomas Hamilton reunion all you want (hell they may do fanservice and make it seem Flint goes away to find him) but he doesn’t die happy.

Flint’s character is the most fascinating of the show there can be no doubt of that but lets not rewrite history just because you like a character or you just happen to empathize with them in all things. You have to accept that whole you make overlook his flaws I personally and others cannot and don’t think Flint deserves a happy ending. He has put people through SHIT. Billy’s mad descent came because of Flint attempting to kill him that led to his TORTURE. He didn’t come back whole from that. I still blame Billy for Billy’s actions but his hatrad is well deserved. He killed Gates when it became clear Flint would bring them into harm. His BEST FRIEND. He killed him when it came between his goal and him. You can romanticize all thee wants about how this is all for Thomas and what happened but Gates was also Billy’s mentor. What makes Flint’s pain more important than anyone else’s? He terrorized his crew and pushed even when he was all fucked in the head. He was a tyrant! He is a murderer. He’s also selfish and completely manipulative. I joke about the Koolaid but like LJS in the books, Flint has a certain charm that is sincere but also very motivated towards his own ends.

Does he care about Silver...sure...in the same way he cared for Gates. And we all saw what happened to Gates. I think Flint feels he owes Silver because he DID help him come out of the fog after Miranda but again, can we not actually remember the show;s motivations. Silver jumped in because the crew was screwed and everyone was desperate and Billy begged Silver to be the “Gates” for the crews sake. Silver I correctly recall balked, didn’t want to do it, was afraid of Flint and overall though the was nuts. Facts people. Facts. There was no pining looks of longing. Flint saw Silver as a shit who he needed and Silver saw Flint as the Captain who was straight up cray and concocted a plan with Villy to shove him out.

Then Maroon Island happened and Silver met Madi. Only when Silver speaks with Madi regarding his concerns and she offers herself as a tether does Silver make an actual attempt at friendship with Flint without so much trepidition. Facts. They are literally lining it up for school children to follow. I mean they legit made a scene just to show Silver WATCHING MADI as if he just found God. We call these turning points.

Since then this show has shown that Silver has been able to find a real connection with Flint ( in friendship. I can’t be bothered to hide the fact that that’s all it’s ever been.) due his very real connection with Madi. Both Billy and Flint both wrote off his relationship with Madi. Flint by never really believing Silver told her about the treasure and Billy by throwing her name in his face as if it was a non factor. Now I think Flint IS trying to be better but that’s his tragedy. He is too consumed by the darkness. He can longer shake it off even if he wanted to. Which is why Silver cannot confide in him about his grief because in some ways he doesn’t feel Flint comprehends that what he lost of so much bigger than what he suspects due mostly to his soon to be revealed backstory. But Flint also knows Silver is more than he allows him to be. And the minute he is off his leash it will NOT be to Flint’s benefit so that shades his concern.

I just am tired of people acting like this is brand new. That Silver is the “bad guy” now when Silver has made one of the most unselfish remarkable turnarounds in the show. Here was a man living on his luck and smarts who cared about nothing and no one who got involved with a pirate crew just for the stake in a claim of a massive treasure that Flint was hiding btw. Since then he has found some place with the pirate brethren, has conquered his fear and can stand next to a man like Flint while holding his own, and has opened himself up to the only love he’s probably had and been returned in his life. He is NOW WILLING to give up the one thing that got him involved in this in the first place for the chance to have a life with this woman. That doesn’t sound like the bad guy because his desire no longer matches up with Flint. He didn’t BETRAY Flint (look up the definition please before you start posting it la di da). If anything he’s taking a play straight from the master’s playbook. And Silver is right! Flint was all willing to give that gold up for a completely completely dismantled Nassau but not for the part of the slave alliance that leads the slave alliance. Julius sure as hell ain’t playing ball. Madi is important to the cause in her own right. She’s also been going to BAT for Flint so the hate coming her way is equally ridiculous.

The influx of recruits has completely reorganized what Flint wants now. He knows he can win which means he isn’t willing to let the treasure go because now he can use that to fund something bigger. He has already moved on from Nassau now that it is within his reach. He’s done the one thing Julius was afraid of. The minute his troops move off to Boston the British swoop right back in and put them back in chains. Or are the slaves journey completely meaningless? If so, then you know what you are.

Lastly, and oh my favorite of course is Madi will side with Flint and leave John in the dust because this isn’t what she wants.

Like, I’m not even trying to be funny but as much as Madi has been supporting Flint it’s VERY recent and if you think she’s going to shun Silver ( and her mother since I’m pretty sure she helped dig up that treasure. She probably agreed to let Flint have his plan and if he doesn’t work, all bets off and save her daughter) for fighting for her life. And that’s not say she wont have any words but if you think she’s going to betray Silver when she could have literally betrayed him and Flint and got what SHE wanted for HER people then it doesn’t take a genius to figure out she’s probably going to see her way to why Silver made the choices he do. I mean this is the same woman who has belaboring that Flint cant be trusted, Like Silver said, Flint didn’t force the choice between Billy and Flint because Flint was smart enough not to give Silver any reason to doubt him. Now he has, and the word is “Boston”

Stop ignoring James McGraw’s cray. God you gotta love him because he don’t STOP but this man has intentions we...just...he need to retire but he clearly ain’t tired of the fight. That’s bullshit. He even stated out of his own MOUTH that it will get interesting when the moment comes when they aren’t of like mind. This man stay ready for the backstab because he know how to wield that knife better than any. What’s worst is people are rooting for him. Like Flint is the worst thing for what Flint wants. You doesn’t take small steps, he takes this unheard of leaps with sheer force of will and while in part that’s admirable it’s mostly reckless and suicidal for anyone following him. Ya’ll know this. And to say Silver’s change is sudden and how can he go from trusting him to not....lets go back in time....to a day ago if that when Flint said “ trust me.” Grab my hand and lets count it up. WR went and got the Spanish due to him accepting Eleanor’s dumbass deal because he completely underestimated Woodes bloodlust, Eleanor died, Madi “died” Silver was forced to hand over his friend to the slaves because of Billy’s dumbass but to repair the alliance for Flint’s war, and he had to fight for his damn life completely outnumbered while he mostly sat and walked around the countryside miraculously unscathed. Now, just take your feelings out of the equation for a minute and honestly say, would you once again trust him? Last time was an epic fail! So now, Silver has every right to side eye the fuck out of Flint for even asking because everytime Flint says so, everything goes to shit. He’s be an idiot to continue to follow him down a path only he can see.

Back to Madi, the Underhill estate was the first encounter she had with the real world and it affected her severely so it pushed her to Flint who is the older wiser man of the world. He starts shoring up his new alliance. Silver is dead and he kept it moving. So Madi keeps referring to this one event that changed her mind about Flint. I don’t think Silver wants to kill Flint. If he couldn’t kill Billy, he’s not immediately thinking kill Flint. Outwit him and making the final call, yes. But not kill him.( Hands sure as hell does but he wants to kill everybody and Flint is in his spot) but he def isn’t following him anymore. As with all people, eventually you have your own ideas of what your life will be. Madi wants to lead her people but she is curious as John says and she is not meant to be hidden away. That was the biggest nod to the fact that Madi will indeed get her canon fate with Silver. So no worries there for me. She is going to come out of this more aware of what she wants. They paralled their story for a reason. Two crowns rising at the same time and neither not really made for the world in which they are the rulers of. Madi has conflicting desires and because of who she is she will maintain both.

Its soon to be Silver versus Flint and I already know the malarky about the be spewed so I wanted to get this long ass rant out so I don’t have to come back to the feeling. Flint has been dodging his comeuppance for a good long while now. Silver has done NOTHING wrong even when it has been clear his “friends” have been using them for their cause that he isn’t even invested in but out of love for them he tried to play the mediator. Now both men have made it clear the ONE THING he cherishes above all else is not as important as their own ends which is fine but I don’t know how anyone can blame him for choosing after thinking he lost her, this woman he loved more than anything. He could not even breathe thinking she died for nothing. The only reason he still stood next to Flint is because SHE could not have been wrong and died following this man.He was NOT OK without her. The Silver/Flint bond was destroyed the minute she was “gone” His tether means more to him than anything because it’s something he’s never had and spewing hate his way for this is just butthurt because you didn’t get your beloved ship. Fuck the ship. It’s about the characters and if you actually cared about anyone besides Flint you’d want him to have what you so badly want Flint to have. The hypocrisy is beyond ridiculous. Love Flint all you want but stop victimizing him.And stop trying to twist everything to produce your happy ending. Hell I may not get everything I want as well. But I am following the story as it is presented and what I know of the book and overall what TV shows do.

They don’t write based on peoples shifting ideas of whats happening in the show, They wrote this with an idea of connecting it to the book with the hope of in a few years actually doing a T.I. I see no reason to have a fake Madi death, only to reveal she’s alive just for her to say screw you Silver I got my own peeps and move on. Wishful thinking for some but for the still sane you get the gist.

This is LJS that many of us knew before this show started. The man who was both the light and dark. Who was Flint without falling prey to Flint’s demons. He has his tether. Madi remains.

oh gosh, Meridian is a major low point for this show. Does it help to know that since that's a low point, you can expect most of the rest to be a lot better? Like TNG, Season 3 is when DS9 kicked out the jams.

Luckily I’d see enough good stuff before WHATEVER THE SHIT THAT WAS that I wasn’t holding it against the show. Still, it’s nice to know I’m already passed one of the worst dips. God, what a abysmal episode.

garak is fantastic and was my sole motivation for watching initially. the thing that gripes me the most about this series is that, more than other treks, i feel, ds9 has SO MUCH unbelievable instant romance and just oozes compulsory heterosexuality

I guess we can assume now that Dax is bi/pan, though? I don’t know, I have no idea how sexual/romantic attraction works for a Trill. I mean the symbiont is basically a hyper-grown sea monkey, yeah? So would it even be attracted to any humanoid? Or is the poor thing just covering its “eyes” and going “LA LA LA LA” every time its host wants to get it on. THE TRILL MAKE NO SENSE TO ME IF I THINK ABOUT THEM TOO MUCH

what did you think of the tvd final? it felt rushed to me and i'm even more upset now ive seen all the interviews with kevin saying it was always meant to be stelena and it feels like a slap in the face that they gave us delena but only by default and the delena we got was so lacking everything i loved about them what did you think?

it’s taken me two days to process everything i felt about that finale and i’m still not fully there yet but i’m gonna try to put my feelings down and then move on

firstly, i had a lot of fun watching it with everyone (specifically @lowsodiumfreaks bc it was hilarious) and i am really glad i got to experience this fandom one last time in all its crazy glory

(i’m tagging @insightfuldamon too bc i like yelling my feelings at jackie bc she understands and i love her for it)

immediately after the finale i was content, i was crying, i was thankful for the show and its characters, i was generally A Mess but i was happy about it

yesterday, once i’d had some sleep and a chance to properly look at the finale by watching it again without the fear of my faves dying i was…less happy with it

i’m gonna start by saying what i loved and still love;

BONNIE BENNETT BEING THE ULTIMATE HERO WE ALL KNOW SHE’S BEEN FROM THE BEGINNING

the bennett witches being fucking amazing

that steroline phonecall bc as someone who never really shipped steroline that was the first time i truly felt it and i was so upset on behalf of caroline and stefan that they didn’t even get a day of marriage before death did them part

caroline/alaric and their girls, the whole convo where alaric mentioned liz and caroline got it and chose her girls over stefan bc she knew it was the right thing to do regardless of her love for him she’ll always put her girls first AND GUYS THAT WAS SO AWESOME BC ONE OF CAROLINE’S MAIN CHARACTER POINTS WAS GETTING THE GUY AND SHE LET THE GUY GO IN THE END !!!!!

BONLENA REUNION!! both times were glorious

all the defan. all of it. amazing. the whole scene where they were trying to sacrifice themselves for each other and i didn’t want either of them to die but then damon chose to save stefan and compelled him away AND I WAS SOBBING SO HARD AND SCREAMING AT CHAR but i’d also accepted it and was so proud of damon bc it was such a great moment in his journey

and then the plot twist with stefan tricking damon and turning him human and then sacrificing himself instead AND I WAS EVEN MORE OF A MESS BC I DIDN’T WANT IT AND HISTORICALLY I HAVE HATED STEFAN BUT I DIDN’T WANT HIM TO DIE but it was beautiful that he went out saving everyone

the whole stelena goodbye was a nice nod to their relationship even though i never liked it i adored their goodbye scene

STEFAN AND LEXI AND I WAS FEELING EPIC

the little daroline scene was cute

caroline seeing elena again!! all the girl feels when they were sat on the bench

i did like all the after death reunion scenes and the nods to past characters even if it felt a little too ‘wrap it neatly in a ribbon/all the fuzzy feels/overdone’

all the donovan family feelings were beautiful

now on to the things i didn’t like;

the delena scenes were flat as hell, felt forced, disjointed and just generally Bad

we got no conversation, no last ‘i love you’, no hint of a flashforward into those supposed ‘happy, human lives’

don’t get me wrong i’m content with the endgame and my 12 year old self now feels supremely justified in all her decision makings but it was so U G H purely bc it wasn’t anything

we got the endgame in name only and i didn’t feel it

i have a suspicion most of it was to do with the very obvious bad feeling between ian and nina, though i have to give credit bc i 100% felt everything delena from nina’s side it was ian doing a terrible job which was seriously jarring after how amazing his acting was in the scene with paul when defan were debating who was gonna die

the kiss was awkward, the handholding was awkward, the looks were awkward, EVERYTHING WAS AWKWARD THEY WERE LITERALLY ON SCREEN FOR A MINUTE AND IAN COULDN’T ADULT ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH IT GOOD LORD

but whatever i’m done, it’s over, bye

/side note; the interviews afterwards mean shit to me tbh bc the writers knew that nina was leaving at the beginning of season 6 so if they had ever truly intended stelena to be endgame they had plenty of time to write it and it’s obvious they’re just throwing every fandom a bone bc delena get to claim the endgame but the interviews suggest stelena get to feel justified in thinking stelena was always meant to be

blaming nina leaving is an utterly shitty thing to do so they can fuck off with that nonsense

the bottom line is they wrote the show, they decided the relationship endgames, they CHOSE THE CHARACTER ENDGAMES

their writing is on them and they need to own their decisions and stop trying to appease everyone or shift blame to one fucking actress like she didn’t dedicate her whole damn sanity to the shit they put her through

like the fact she even came back…they didn’t deserve her that’s all i’m gonna say but then they haven’t been deserving kat graham since she arrived so…fuck them basically

i was disappointed that there was no dalaric other than the casual mention, there was no denzo, there was no last bamon scene which was utter bullshit considering they are supposed to be best friends though i loved damon mentioning his utter faith in bonnie and i also loved how as soon as bonnie found out damon was off to sacrifice himself she was like ‘nope i’m gonna save their asses’ once again

i’m waiting for a character to embody the title of ‘Queen’ more than bonnie bennett

like we literally got a daroline scene but no bamon scene…what. the. frick?

i don’t care for katherine or datherine or steferine so all of that was a complete waste of time for me and the fact that katherine got more than elena in terms of screen time makes me all types of bitter but once again nina owned what she was given so kudos

i’m happy bonnie’s endgame was her getting the fuck out of mystic falls and i realize that their intention with that was to portray her as strong and moving on whilst still having enzo there whenever she needs him but i also can’t ignore the inherent wrongness of the black girl who has sacrificed literally everything of herself being the one who gets the ‘on her own/off to explore the world’ storyline whilst elena gets her happily ever after with damon and caroline gets her family and the future tease of klaus (also fucking africa?? s e r i o u s l y ? ?) whilst bonnie is supposed to be content with a semi love life she can’t really have until she’s dead ! ! ! n o p e

(like bonnie is literally the only one who ends up alone after she saved every single other character multiple times I’M SO FUCKING ANGRY THAT HER ENDGAME IS COMPLETELY SEPARATE OF EVERYONE ELSE’S LIKE ‘THANKS FOR ENSURING WE LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO GET OUR HAPPILY EVER AFTERS BUT WE’RE FINE NOW BYE’ what the fuck honestly)

but i’m white so i can’t really speak to that racist nonsense and there are hundreds of people in this fandom way more qualified to speak on that than me so i won’t say anymore on it

and then the whole ‘oh we thought maybe matt and bonnie could eventually get together but we left that up to the audience’ bullshit just bc matt’s the only guy left *barf noises*

i love matt but come on (also there wasn’t enough matt for me either)

i never really liked bonenzo but i can deal with it even though it should have been bamon until bonnie died and then i’d have been fine with delena after that bc i am of the opinion that u can have more than one epic love and to me damon was in love with both bonnie and elena and we were robbed but again w/e my multishipping ass will just have to be content with fanfiction

i hate that tyler got nothing but a tiny scene smiling at matt and holding hands with vicki bc they did that character so dirty after giving him such a fantastic journey in the early seasons

listen highkey we should’ve gotten forwood but then klaroline butted in with all its nonsense and tyler lockwood was sacrificed on the alter of shipper bullshit

I HATE THAT WE GOT NO JERLENA REUNION AND IT WASN’T EVEN HINTED AT IN THE WHOLE ‘ELENA DIED THEN REUNITED WITH HER FAMILY’ SCENE

like superficially this finale was good as far as finale’s go, i’ve had to deal with a lot worse, but when u pick it apart and get past the glossy happily ever after sheen it’s kinda false to a lot of the relationships and characters

basically i have a lot of mixed feelings on it but i personally got enough that i can now move on without feeling entirely like i wasted 8 years of my life on the show and 12 years on these characters and relationships tho lbr they never really followed the books anyway

the thing i’m most thankful for about this show is the people i’ve met online through it and if the most i can take away from this experience is the friendships i’ve made with other fans then it’s been worth it

i know some of u won’t agree with everything i’ve said, some might not agree with any of it, but i appreciate u reading it anyway and i hope the finale meant enough to u that u can still be glad u fell into the hellhole that was tvd
