Hi hi! Welcome to my self shipping blog! My name is Nightmares, or Silver, either or! I am a 22 year old, asexual transman (he/him), plural self shipper. I am okay with sharing (except for alters). I am a lover of villains, and enjoy anime, animation, and comics. My favorite genres include historical things with good characters, horror, mysteries, and romance. My main F/O is M/ordecai H/eller from L/ackadaisy, but I am okay with sharing him!
Please read the DNI before following me! Liking the post reassures me you have.

User box template can be found here.
You will be fed to the pigs if you (DNI if)...
Note: I will probably only follow you back if you show a genuine interest in my stuff and I like your stuff in turn (aka we could have a conversation together). I am a bit picky about moots, but you are always welcome to follow of course.
If I block you, I block you. I try to be vague when it comes to vents and vent about the behavior, not the person, but ultimately it is your responsibility if you see crap you shouldn't when you're blocked.
You don't like villain F/Os or have an issue with villain F/Os being made soft. I won't argue with your preferences, but painting it as "bad writing" or "not canon" due to a difference perspective is just crap.
You are a minor. Sorry, I'm just not comfy with minors following or interacting with me.
You are a bigot (homophobic, transphobic, sexist, racist, antisemitic, etc.) or you romanticize characters being bigots. You will be blocked on sight. Exclusionists will also be blocked.
You are a map, proshipper, or ship adults with minors. I am also not comfortable with shipping with animal characters that are just animals with no humanoid features (ex: shipping romantically with a character like P/ikachu is gross, anthros like M/ordecai are fine though), incest ships, people who ship with real people, and so on. I am not comfortable with characters that have canonically assaulted someone, are predators, or child abusers.
You unnecessarily dictate how others write characters, especially asexual ones (pointing out the use of bad stereotypes is not this and completely understandable).
You are not plural safe. (BTW I use the term plural, please use this term, not D.I.D). I have a zero tolerance policy for not only people that are negative about/to plurality and systems, but also people that misuse plural experiences for their own entertainment. Some examples would include:
Featuring characters doing things very similar to "switches" because you find it funny/to show they're "mentally unstable".
Have your character talk to "people inside their head" to paint them as crazy.
Treat an evil alter ego or persona as another personality.
Painting alters or alter equivalent characters as evil.
That shit isn't for your singlet characters and it definitely isn't for your "crazed" or "violent" characters, and alters deserve to be treated kindly.
There is some media I am uncomfortable with and I will block you if your F/Os are from these sources: SAO (sword-art-online), R/ayman, J/ekyll and H/yde, and H/arry P/otter. (These medias make me uncomfortable for one reason or another it's not always for moral reasons, please respect that even if you don't understand).
Other wise we should get along just fine!

𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐃 - 𝐒/𝐈 𝐀𝐒𝐊 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐄 ⤸
New S/I, so I'll answer an ask game about him! Said ask game can be found here!
Long post under the cut.
1. What is your s/i's name & pronouns?
Shepherd goes by he/him, as well as any dog related neos you can think of!
2. How similar is your s/i to you? Are they a carbon copy, completely different or a mix of the two?
Shepherd is pretty different compared to me. He's definitely not a carbon copy, but he still has some aspects of me, such as parts of his backstory, his disabilities, etc.
3. Does your s/i have a backstory yet? Or is it still in the works? If it's done can we see it?
I don't have his full backstory written out yet, but I'll make a separate post about that when the time comes.
4. How did your s/i feel when they first met your f/o(s)? How do they feel about them now?
Shepherd first met Simon in college. He was very warm and friendly toward Simon, but he wasn't entirely sure how to feel about him, since Simon was so closed off.
Now, Simon and Shepherd both have a mutual understanding of each other on a deeper level than most. They bonded over their shared experience with depression and anxiety, as well as with being disabled in some way.
5. Do you speak about your s/i in first or third person?
It honestly depends. Sometimes I'll speak about my s/i's in the first person, but most of the time in the third person.
6. Has your s/i undergone any design/story changes since they were first made?
A few! Mostly design changes, but I changed his backstory to better fit in with the story.
7. Give us 3 random facts about your s/i
He has issues walking, so he uses mobility aids. Usually a cane, but if it's bad enough he will use other aids. He's also really sickly, so he's in bed all the time trying to recover from whatever sickness he has at the time. He has some tattoos, and quite a few piercings!
8. Does your s/i have any kind of powers?
Sadly, no.
9. Does your s/i have any hobbies that you don't have?
He likes to sew. He's tried to sew his own clothes, but it takes so much time and he has such a hard time finishing projects that he's decided to never do that again. Instead, he does smaller projects that are much easier to tackle, like repairing clothes or sewing patches on clothes.
10. How many s/i's do you have? Do you use the same s/i for multiple f/os or make completely different ones?
I have so many s/i's, most of which I haven't announced on Tumblr. I use the same s/i for multiple f/os, as long as they're under the same media source. For example, I would use Shepherd for any CoF f/os that I had.
11. Does your s/i have one outfit they're always seen in or multiple?
He has multiple that he's seen in. Usually they're just t-shirts and jeans, but occasionally he'll dress up.
12. Can we see a picture of your s/i?
Link to picrew
13. Would you ever want to cosplay as your s/i?
Possibly! I never thought about it!
14. Does your s/i get jealous easily?
Yes. Most definitely.
15. Does your s/i interact with any other self shippers s/i’s?
If someone wants their s/i to interact with him, let me know! I feel like that would be fun.

11 and 13 for any/all of your f/os!
1 and 2 for jester, and 6 and 15 for dirk! (from s-el-fships, i hope those will be fun! <3)
Heck yes, thank you @s-el-fships!!! I love this set of selfship questions!!!
11. do you create anything to commemorate your relationship with your f/o? tell us about it!
Everything for this blog! I make moodboards, fanfiction, art, journal pages, videos for my f/os. I occasionally do little cross-stitches or doodles that remind me of them, but that's the only thing I keep for myself. I'm really into selfshipping for the community, so everything I make, I share!
13. if you have multiple f/os, do you see them all as separate relationships or as a sort of polycule? if you have them separated, how are those versions of the world different from the others?
Separate relationships for sure! They're all in different universes! I do have some poly relationships, some 'canon' and others not, and some of my selfships are open relationships, but for all my main f/os, they're separate relationships with different universes and different s/is, even if they share a source.
For Jester!
1.does your f/o have any special nicknames for you? what are they? do you have a favorite?
Ah, I'm not very good at making up nicknames >w< I'm sure Jester would have a lot of them for me but it would take me a long time to think of them! And I do just love it when she says my name with all that affection in her voice <3 <3
2. do you and your f/o share any hobbies? what are they? do you see one another as rivals, collaborators, something else?
Both Jester and I are very into creating things, but she tends towards visual arts and I tend towards music/wordsmithing- we definitely do cross over into each other’s areas, but tend to be very encouraging and enthusiastic about the other person’s creations!
We’re also both magic users, and we are a bit competitive about that, but only playfully. We both respect the source of each other’s magic, and as long as we know that, it’s a fun place to play with competition!
Answers For Dirk are under the ‘read more’ because this is getting long!!
For Dirk
6. do you have any alternate timelines or universes in your self-ship? what are they like?
I’ve definitely thought about developing a trollstuck AU for us, but I don’t think it fits us very well! I like that we’re two humans with more troll-like romance dynamics.
My “memories” of Dirk could be interpreted as an AU of our selfship, but that feels weird since my memories/kins are involuntary, while my selfships are consciously chosen. (I have hyperempathy as part of my autism which can really blur the lines between my identity and some characters, including memories, long story?)
It would be kind of cool to reinvent that as a selfship but *waves hand* it’s complicated
15. how does your f/o respond to physical affection from you? do they like pda, or are they more reserved? how do you respond to physical affection from them?
Hahaha, well we’re both touch starved in the most technical sense, so it’s complicated because touch is A Lot for both of us. That’s part of why we like sparring so much: fighting and grappling is a very familiar and structured way to have physical contact with each other.
I’m mostly okay with physical affection when I’m the one in control of it, so Dirk learns not to initiate contact. When I’m the one to come over and initiate, he’s very stiff for a while, but often finds a way to relax into the affection. It’s really rewarding for both of us when he can get to that point.
We tend towards PDA as a self-defense: our heartbond requires us to stay close to each other, so when we’re in a crowd, we automatically hold hands to keep from being pulled apart. Also, it can be hard to process if we’re in two different conversations, so we usually stay close together so we can interact as a unit, instead of trying to drown out each other’s thoughts while talking to someone. But we don’t, like, kiss or hug in public: just holding hands and keeping close together.
Also, sometimes one of us will poke the other person until they get annoyed and pin or hold our hands/wrists, which is some very blatant pitch PDA for anyone familiar with troll romance traditions.

KSP Weekly: Lunar Water
Welcome to KSP Weekly! A study published online this week in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences provides direct and definitive evidence for surface-exposed water ice in the polar regions on the Moon.
The team of researchers — led by Shuai Li of the University of Hawaii and Brown University — peered at suspected icy patches using an instrument called the Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3), which flew aboard Chandrayaan-1, India's first mission to the Moon, and provided the first mineralogical map of the lunar surface. The Moon Mineralogy Mapper used the near-infrared spectrum to pinpoint the signature activity of ice molecules interacting with infrared light. This helped the scientists to distinguish the frozen water from other types of ice or water in a different form — such as bound up in minerals — and they identified ice deposits dwelling in permanent shadows at the Moon's north and south poles.
The abundance and distribution of ice on the Moon are distinct from those on other airless bodies in the inner solar system such as Mercury and Ceres, which may be associated with the unique formation and evolution process of our Moon. The Moon's surface is continuously bombarded by meteorites and micrometeorites. Many, if not most, of these impactors contain water ice, and the lunar craters show that many of these were very large objects. Any ice which survived impact would be scattered over the lunar surface. Most would be quickly vaporized by sunlight and lost to space, but some would end up inside the permanently shadowed craters, either by directly entering the crater or migrating over the surface as randomly moving individual molecules which would reach the craters and freeze there. Once inside the crater, the ice would be relatively stable, so over time the ice would collect in these "cold traps," and be buried to some extent by meteoritic gardening. Correspondingly, most of the ice was found in surface craters that are never touched by direct sunlight, and where temperatures hover around minus 157 degrees Celsius.
This discovery has several implications. For instance, it can provide scientists with valuable clues about the composition and activity of the Moon and other icy bodies in the inner solar system. Beyond the scientifically intriguing aspects, deposits of ice on the Moon would have many practical aspects for future manned lunar exploration, as it provides significant impetus for future international landings in the polar regions to drill and return samples of this ice. Ice deposits in significant quantities on the Moon could also provide resources for future lunar bases, or could also potentially be an important resource for space travel; mining lunar ice and converting it to rocket fuel could extend the reach of future missions to deep space.
[Development news start here]
First of all, we want to thank everyone who participated in our poll which helped decide which color pattern the revamp of EVA Space Suits will have. We received many responses and there was a clear preference, so without further ado, here are the results:
The red, blue and white suits were clearly the favorite, and as such they are now part of the Kerbals’ wardrobe. While performing this poll, we also received tons of constructive feedback on the revamped EVA Space Suit. The art team is assessing the feedback and we will show the final version in a future update.
As part of the 1.5 Update agenda, we have also been looking at other parts that are getting a well-deserved refurbishment. One such parts is the MK1 Command Pod, which just got out of the VAB, fully revitalized and optimized. We're taking this opportunity to fix a few small issues with the original Mk1 pod. Attachment nodes will be adjusted so that the pod nests correctly on a 1.25m stack, and the top has been tweaked to be exactly 0.625m in diameter. The MK1 Pod will keep all its features and specifications, but with this new look it will make your first rockets look sleek and modern. Just as with the other parts we have shown off, the goal of this revamps isn’t to reinvent the wheel, but to give the part catalogue a more cohesive and sleek look, as well as to optimize the texture maps and the model geometry to reduce load times. Here is a GIFs to give you a full 3D look of the MK1 Pod.
Click here for the high res image.
Aside from art-related tasks, the team also started to work on improving and expanding the functionality of the Search Bar in the Mission Builder. Now whenever you make an inquiry, the Search Bar will check for matches on both the Toolbar and the Canvas. To facilitate the search process the system will create two lists; one for toolbar results and other for matches within the canvas. You will then be able to select your search results and it will highlight the matching nodes on the canvas and focus the camera on them. You can also drag a search result out onto the canvas and it will copy the existing node.
[KSP Vault] Last week, DasValdez got ULA systems engineer Patrick Moore to talk about the Parker Solar Probe mission and Delta IV Heavy rocket while he provided realistic flight commentary as he launched his own “Deltish IV” rocket carrying a “Parker Sorta Probe”, built using stock parts in Kerbal Space Program. Watch it here!

Every time I see your art of a rare pair I somehow become a huge fan of that rare pair. I have too many otps...,
...is it okay for me to be happy I’m dragging you down with me on all of my weird ships because tbh I am for a lot of them there’s just a handful of people shipping them I’m happy you’re joining us hahaha
Anon said:because of your tags on that kamisero post i now love the hc that kirishima just uses loving bakugou as an excuse to get out of conversations that make him uncomfortable, even if it makes no sense. Like 'any advice on how to confess?' 'I'm dating bakugou, you probably should ask someone else.' or 'how do you think snow works?' 'Dude I'm dating bakugou, i don't know.'
I’m in love with this ask because this has been my most ridiculous headcanon for an age I’m glad I could subtely make you share it, anon - Kirishima being perfectly aware of the fact that aside from the face there is no objective reason why he should be that smitten with Bakugou? That’s my jam, he’s as surprised as anyone else so when people ask him anything love related he’s like “do I look like a reliable source man DO I I think it’s hot when Bakugou yells there’s obviously something wrong with me you don’t want my advices”
But also for however aware of it he might be he’s still in love with the dude so people pointing it out to him gets old really fast, like, “it’s one thing if I say it myself and another it’s you talking shit about my boyfriend stop that”, which is why he just starts using “what do I know I like Bakugou” as an answer to anything - it starts with him being a smartass and it becomes just habit by the end of it, sometimes he uses it when Bakugou is around or with Bakugou himself and Bakugou doesn’t understand, doesn’t want to understand, has pondered the option of getting angry/offended/demanding an explaination and has deemed it not worth his time because the answer is most probably just gonna be that his boyfriend is an idiot anyway
(also he might or might not like how Kirishima’s pretty much just going around telling people he likes him over and over again, tbh)
Anon said:Any tips on how to be creative with ship week prompts? I'm wanting to participate in klance week but I'm worried my pics will come out really basic and yours are always so unique!
Thank you for the compliment!!!! And actually this is an hard question, cause as I already mentioned once what I draw is the first thing with a beginning and an ending I can come up with, so I can’t say I put too much focus on making it unique? But there are two things I can tell you!
The first, is that whatever idea your prompt ends up giving you, for however boring and basic it might seem to you, I assure you 100% that it won’t be to whomever ends up consuming your content - that’s because even a “boring” trope will be completely new as long as it comes from the hands of someone new who’s giving it their own interpretation of it (take for example the nightmares prompt for the latest krbk week, a lot of people - myself included - took it literally and wrote about them having and talking about nightmares, but I enjoyed every and each of the fills a lot because even if the starting point was the same they were all very very different stories) and also any idea you get easily will seem boring to you by default, because you didn’t think about it hard enough, right? It must be the obvious thing to think about when you read that prompt, right? Everyone else must have thought the same, right? Only it isn’t right, because every brain works differently and creativity sparks from the most ridiculous things, so your idea might seem very obvious and boring to you, but completely new to someone else! You don’t know how many of my own fills felt incredibly trite as I drew them, and yet here you are telling me you don’t feel the same at all haha
The second thing is that generally I found that creativity is... how do I put it, it’s kind of like a muscle. The more you exercise it the easier it will come to you using it, or at least that’s how it works for me - being creative isn’t really something you can force on the spot, but it’s definitely something you can learn and get used to, in my opinion. There are a few ways to exercise it, but the easier one for me is playing around with prompts - how many different ideas can I get from this same set of words? what kind of story can I pull out of this song/picture? Those are the most basic ones, but there’s also reading/watching a story and trying to adapt it to your own chosen characters, fit together more than one universe to try and pull out something sensible, seeing something in the middle of the road and thinking “that’s a prompt, I can use that as a prompt”. After a while, everything becomes a potential prompt, and your brain automatically goes through a short “can I use that to create something else?” check every time you experience something new, and stores it somewhere to use in the future if it seems potentially worth keeping, if you’re used to doing so. And the more little prompts and informations and facts you have stored around in your brain, the more you can subconsciously pick them up to add to new ones to make something creative
That second part is definitely a bit useless as a short term advice, considering your week is starting soon and exercising your creativity does take a while, but I hope you’ll give the week a go anyway! Both because I’m sure you’re already way more creative than you’re assuming you are, and because making creative stuff is the fastest way to becoming more creative, really!

Ohhh man, a question I can’t answer - both because I don’t dwell much into sexy headcanons territory AND because I’m honestly not a fan of that dicotomy at all? I never settle on anything in that sense for any of my ships, but Baku and Kiri especially make no sense settled in that kind of roles, for me, they probably just go at it however they feel like it’d be best atm haha
Anon said:I never expected to ship bakushimanari and yet here i am, three hours after scrolling through your tag for the third time, crying over every single interaction between the three of them in the manga. (I think my favourite thing about them is that both Kaminari and Bakugou can be little shits but then there's kirishima, who's an unrepentant sunshine, and it's just like. What a terrifying trio. I pity any villains they face).
I know right they’re such a good ot3 !!!!!! though let’s not take anything from Kiri, when he’s with the squad he can be a shit too, it’s magnificent - I do love the fact that we know from the canon that both Kaminari and Bakugou don’t sympathize with the enemy at all and don’t hold back on fighting verbally either, while Kirishima is all “stop running away and let me give you a life lesson” though ??? And the fact that Bakugou and Kaminari can’t coexist without talking shit about each other at least a little makes it all even more entertaining to me, considering how on the other hand even though Kirishima doesn’t hold back from pointing out when Bakugou’s being ridiculous he’s still always all about support and trying to better the others??? It’s like, when you read it like this they seem like a mess, and they are but they’re a balanced mess it’s incredible I love them I need more of them all together
Anon said:Saw Tokoyami, fell, and now I can't get up ))':
Anon said: Hello I just wanted to express my thanks to you for the bakugou and tokoyami interactions you drew. I love them as friends and it's pretty rarely portrayed so THANKS~
Anon said: Listen as much as i love the ot3 i am so happy you drew my bird son (and tape son! tho i think youve drawn sero more often than tokoyami)
!!!!!!!!! you all sure love the bird child a lot, don’t you!!! That’s great because I do too, he’s one of my most faves tbh and I officially made him part of the squad so you can expect more to come - I had drawn him already before, though! With Tsu and Kiri mostly, never with Baku... Sero on the other hand is in a whole damn lot of my squad/kiribaku/bakushimanari drawings so yeah, I’ve definitely drawn him more often haha what can I do man I love him too much he’s a Good™
#fran answers#im#kind of half asleep ngl so I don't know how much of this makes actual sense#why am i answering asks now even#why not tomorrow morning#we just don't know#anonymous

Fish Oil Market in Good Shape in 2019; COVID-19 to Affect Future Growth Trajectory
Food and Beverages Global Industry Outlook along with Inputs on the global Fish Oil Market
The food and beverage industry in North America is colossal and comprises and number of players in largely fragmented and multi-tiered supply chains. The industry is stringently regulated and players often have to adapt to a landscape that changes quite frequently. The primary demand drivers in North America are witnessing fast-paced evolution, as dietary habits receive emphasis, especially among consumers who scour every label to read the ingredients. Although mergers and acquisitions have been a staple in the food and beverage industry, uncertainties in political climate in Europe and America lead to a slowdown in 2016. As there is more clarity on the U.S. Presidential election and Brexit, the pace of mergers and acquisitions is likely to pick up.
The evolving tastes and preferences of consumers are not lost on manufacturers, as offerings have been broadened to accommodate organic and natural food products. Many established players are focusing in acquiring smaller companies which have the expertise and reputation of being pros in specific organic and natural domains. These smaller companies have deep brad loyalty, and owing to the small scale of production, it is much easier for them to come up with innovative products. These factors, combined with increasing emphasis on organic and natural, are likely to make smaller companies attractive targets for mergers and acquisitions.

In Europe, notable developments that the food and beverage industry needs to lookout for are stricter monitoring of unfair trade practices (UTPs) by the European Commission (EC). Many food and beverage manufacturers are currently assessing the risk to business once Brexit comes into effect. As the timing and full impact of Brexit is still uncertain, food and beverage companies are focusing on taking preventive action to secure their business interests.

Lesson 9) Eclipses and Alignment
Professor Cattercorn can be seen flitting around in a redecorating phase. Her wand is rarely pointed in one direction for long. Posters take themselves down from the walls and fold themselves neatly while students sit and study for their final, or chat with each other to procrastinate and relieve stress. Amongst the chaos, a large stack of books sits on the professor’s desk, stacked high. Among them you see titles on palmistry and something called “Zohar.” As the clock strikes eleven, the last of the posters puts itself away, and the professor moves to stand near her desk with a satisfied nod. .
Welcome for the final time this year, students! Yes, I know, I was a bit preemptive with my redecorating, but I thought it best not to leave too many star charts up during the final! Today, we have a few smaller topics to wrap up before we review for your final. I can’t believe it’s already time. Though, I suppose time flies when you are enjoying yourself, and I have certainly enjoyed sharing the wonders of natural divination with such apt students as yourselves.
Everything But the Kitchen Sink
As mentioned offhandedly last week, it is not just planets that have divinatory importance in astrology. Nearly everything you can think of plays into the future: the Sun, the Moon, comets, the angle of each planet’s rotation and more! Don’t even get me started on collisions between celestial objects! But, thankfully, we are not going into that much detail. As I explained at the end of our study of runes, my goal is to make you moderately proficient in a large number of fields so that you can find where your strengths and passions lie. We are going to talk about just a few examples today, though.
Comets
After last week’s lesson on the planets, it may not come as a surprise that each comet has a different meaning associated with it. Because they come around so infrequently, the meanings of comets are much less well-known. One of the more frequent ones, Halley’s comet, comes around between every 74 to 79 years and it’s noted to be a predictor of advancement of some kind -- how fortunate that it comes frequently! Comet Hale-Bopp, on the other hand, is very tenuously linked to stagnation and complacence after its first sighting. However, since it only nears Earth every 2,400 years, we will have to do a fair bit of waiting to discover a pattern.

Meteor Showers
Fortunately, we have it a little bit easier with meteor showers. Their presence is generally believed to be universal, no matter which cluster is active. The arrival of meteors, whether the Leonids or Draconids usually indicates good fortune -- which is the real reason behind Muggles’ fascination with making wishes on them. It is important to note that meteor showers are more closely linked to smaller, day-to-day things than the more powerful, world-changing events ascribed to planets and more prominent celestial bodies.
Eclipses
Now, it is high time we discussed some celestial events and their importances. Last class, I alluded to the fact that different events and interactions between various celestial bodies played just as large a role in astrology as the meanings of the bodies themselves. Eclipses are one such event that has an important role.
Firstly, it may be useful to have a quick refresher as to what exactly an eclipse is, in case you have forgotten since Second Year Astronomy. An eclipse is when one celestial body moves in between another celestial body and a light source, though the specifics depend on what kind of eclipse is occurring. In a lunar eclipse, the Earth passes in between the Sun and the Moon, therefore casting a shadow onto the Moon and causing it to disappear. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, effectively blocking out the light from the sun momentarily.
Both of these events have different, though linked, divinatory significances. When a solar eclipse occurs, this signifies an ending matched with a beginning -- a rebirth of sorts. When Pluto is nearby during such an event, you had better bet that big things are happening! A lunar eclipse, by the same token -- or at least a similar one -- is just an ending. There is a finality coming when a lunar eclipse is seen. However, unlike its solar counterpart, there is nothing new to replace it. Endings are not inherently bad, though, and these events can simply indicate a stage of completion. Finally, it is important to note, though perhaps obvious, that total eclipses mean a more drastic, important, or sudden event, whereas partial eclipses are less so.
Syzygies And Conjunctions
Finally, we come to our last new topic for the year: alignment. We will briefly go over the definition, though if you want to freshen up on your Astronomy, whether for this or eclipses, you can review this lecture. A syzygy -- the more complicated of the two concepts -- is when three or more astronomical bodies align. This can be include, the Sun, the Moon, Earth, and all other planets. We most frequently see this with the Sun, Moon, and Earth as with eclipses, but this is not the only way, obviously! Conjunctions are very similar, but with one fewer astronomical body. Just two are required to be aligned for a conjunction. One thing to note is that the Earth and the Moon are always in a conjunction together, just as the Sun and the Earth are. It is for this reason that the Sun and the Moon by themselves are not seen to have any divinatory significance (though potentially they do and we simply do not realize it). These bodies have a constant presence in our sky and while they affect levels of magical energy, their presence has not been seen to be extremely significant in divination unless combined with other planets.
In terms of divination, there is an array of implications from these events. Firstly, during either a syzygy or a conjunction, all planets involved not only combine their meanings, but the events the foretell are all the more pronounced, important, or sudden. However, sometimes the alignment of bodies is not just planets. In the case of a conjunction or syzygy involving the Sun, the Sun’s normal meaning of rebirth, ends, and beginnings applies alongside the meanings of the planets. It is the same with the Moon, in that the indication of finality is applied to the other meanings.
I know that is quite a lot to wrap your mind around -- the solar system is a big place -- but to get started, just try to condense it down to the meanings of each body and if they are lining up or not. That simplification will serve you just fine! Also, fortunately, as these are not exactly every day events, you will not have to worry about them overmuch. I only bring them up here due to their large role in astrological predictions.
Review of Concepts
With that, we close the topic of natural divination. As least, until you come to me with questions, check out a library book, gaze into the night sky and notice Venus is particularly bright, or cast some runes. Before I leave you to your finals, let us briefly review the two forms of divination from this year in their totality.
Firstly, we have runecasting. The Germanic tribes ancient times were very natural people, and their divination is no different. There is a large emphasis not only between the runes and nature -- all parts of the runes must be natural, including what they’re stored in -- but also between you and the runes. For the best results, it is recommended that you make your runes and allow them to naturally absorb your magic and attune to your magical signature. They function very similarly to the tarot, acting as foci for your Inner Eye to work through and interpret more easily. They even have spreads that are similar to the tarot. The main differences lie in how you obtain your set and that as a divinatory tool and focus, they are more loyal.
Secondly, we have astrology. There are two schools of thought: there are those that prefer to rely on astrology to predict the minute details of everyday life for individuals, whereas others prefer to look at the big picture, which though large, will affect our everyday lives, just in different ways. Currently, the latter is more popular, though we studied a bit of both. The zodiac is a common thing in magical life, and most witches and wizards know their Sun and Moon signs. These signs complement each other not only to tell us about ourselves, but also about how things might go in the future. In terms of the second kind of astrology, planets and large, celestial bodies and their meanings predict what trends may be coming our way. These bodies can have significance on their own, or in conjunction with others.
Endings and Beginnings
You don’t need the planets to align to do well on your tests, though. You have been with me from beginning to end and I know you’ll do fine… Well, most of you, anyway. You know what they say, it’s a gift and a curse. Regardless, it has been a joy to educate you in the ways of natural divination this year and I hope you enjoy your summer break before school reconvenes in the fall.
