They're elves of the shadowfell, normal human height. They specialize in teleportation and invisibility, with the casters among them throwing in confusion and fear and illusion. Be careful though, as any trained in combat start making non-elves slower and worse while within 10 feet. From depression, from the sound of it. Their angst about being more ancient and timeless than you wordlessly attaches to you like a parasite, slowing you down. Good for if you enjoy concepts like-

#classwork #banana yoshimoto #kitchen #so much for lurking #sorry i just like how these turned out haha; this was one of the things that was bothering me so it feels nice to have it done #i don't like the second one as much as the first one but it *is* empty on purpose... metaphors and stuff #this is for my capstone; it's our only art assignment we'll have for the whole semester (intimidating)#we had two options for what to do depending on what kind of focus we've placed on our work #people who were focusing on content for studio work had to make something that represented themself as an artist #people like me who focus more on technique and meeting task requirements had to depict something based on... any... literature #so i took a middle ground and did two page inserts for a book that's important to me #i actually wanted to do only one really detailed insert but my prof wanted two so i had to divide my time #and also read the whole book again which left less time for the actual drawing #crying bc the dropbox for this closed five minutes before I got this done #even though this technically isn't due until the beginning of class tomorrow #it'll be fine since i'm bringing the files to class via USB anyway but it'd be nice to have it submitted so it could leave my conscious lol #uh i also have to type up something for this so i shall do that now #night night

#its thursday quest #god i'm so anxious about it autism style. so many uncertainties that i simply cannot account for alone. but i'm being sooo 'brave' about it #(keeping it to myself. except for posting about it)#taxi company hasn't texted me the drivers' details yet and i emailed them to be like ummmm your policy is to pay before the day #would you like to email me the payment details so i can do that? and they were like 'we'll send the driver details soon' ummmm #there isn't much soon left!!!!!!! it's happening tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!#they're probably just not Organised™ in the way i prefer to be. which is objectively fine it's just challenging for me personally.#i do not think it's Bad but!!!!! i've never taken a taxi before <- guy who Is Scared Of Taxis Specifically but has to face #their fears because they're disabled and have no other choice.#worst case i am down the money and no-one arrives to take me home i guess :P but it'll be afternoon AND my family are there so #in theory i could just get a lift home even though that would mess up other people's plans sooooo bad. was playing the new TF2 halloween event, and someone noticed that my avatar was a flamingo and complimented me on it. things are perhaps good, i think.

#been playing for like... 8+ hours? i like a lot of the maps #freaky fair is probably the map i spent the most time on today. like god damn #dynamite. i only played one/two rounds of. it's a neat concept. ive played a map similar to it before #toxic seemed neat. only time i played was with like 6 people max. haven't queued for it again yet #circus is fine. player destruction isn't usually my thing. due to my ability to die constantly #outburst. its versus saxton hale. i can't really say much more than that. it's fine #blazehatten. really really messy. brushes you can stand inside. invisible clipping where railing use to be. missing textures.#iirc it was like that before zombie infection was added. like all of those problems (if not most). im sure they'll get sorted out soon.#dont really have much thought on it's gameplay though #darkmarsh. havent played yet. it looks neat from the screenshots ive seen.#happy to be doing contracts again. freaky fair has been really distracting me from doing more of them.#MVM upgrades in a normal match is weirdly addicting. i kinda wish the map was 5cp instead of 3cp.#mostly due to how sometimes we'll get steamrolled to the middle point and have to struggle getting currency if they have it locked down #since the only ways you make money are: killing enemies and capturing mid #wanted to play with a friend to do the contracts but they were busy all night and i got kinda lonely just playing on my own #normally its not something i think about #but yeah. updates good. messy in places. but not unplayable.

I'VE FINALLY FINISHED BROTHERSHIP IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!

#clai speaks #spoilers in the tags probably #ahhh first of all i am still astounded the game exists at all. we all thought m&l was done forever but here it is!!!#the timing of me playing superstar saga and getting really into mario last year couldnt have been better #i mean i probably would have played brothership still even if mario hadnt become a main interest of mine like that. but anyway #absolutely stellar re-entry into the series it did not disappoint in the SLIGHTEST #i think i 100%'d it? only thing i didnt do was finish that last dyode dance sequence but like its fiiiine #took about 50 hours i didnt get a chance to check my final time. really surprised that the game went that long!#i dont think it was a bad thing at all though. the game mostly didnt feel like it was overstaying its welcome #i did think lottacoins and the lower level solitree went a tad too long and i didnt like them but only a little. they're still fine sections #surprised that i didnt even feel like the sidequests were a drag they were all alright!#character interactions were so good ofc. love the new cast!! starlow felt a bit flat which is a shame but she also didnt appear much so #the sidequest where she visits bowser and he calls her chippy!!!! made me so happy!!!!!#all the callbacks were so good i'm glad they can still do that. yelled out loud after finding the peasley reef #docking points for no dreambert reef however. jail worthy offence #on reclusa specifically i dont have a lot to say about his character he's just your typical evil for the sake of evil villain #but i have to say i Love his design. the really exaggerated facial expressions and that clown neck frill. really fun character actually!!#ahhh call me childish but i'm never a fan of endings where friends separate but i like to think the second uni-tree--#--will allow them to link back up once its grown and can generate more connectar to do it #cant say if its my favorite yet bc recency bias is still too fresh but its absolutely my second favorite m&l game at least!!#i havent played paper jam yet i wanted to play the original paper mario and spm first. but i always hear its bad so??#brothership is at least on par with dream team for me rn. absolutely stellar game #i hope this means we'll get more m&l someday! i've already left a very positive response on the survey they put out #anyway. now to decide what to play next because i have a MASSIVE backlog of games and i didnt think this would take this long BJDHJFHF #10/10!!!! please play brothership immediately

woooo my niece took 5 of my 13 lego sets, one of which was one of the three larger ones, so that's one huge box out of the way and i'm just glad she wanted them because like they ARE twenty years old and they look fine ofc but sometimes kids aren't gonna want stuff that isn't new and shiny ya know, but she did seem to want everything which would've been fine with me but i knew there was no way they would take all that with them, and at least i still have stuff of my own to sell, plus should get at least a cut of my brother's stuff for doing the inventory and putting together that stuff that wasn't already done

#i mentioned the hp sets and how they had been pretty much left together and he was like '....i had harry potter sets?'#which once he saw them he did think they were familiar which was some of my feeling with mine #like oh YEAH i do remember these i just didn't remember having so many #i mean between 13 sets it's really like 3 categories so i would've played with like the whole ice palace and its related sets #i do just wonder how it'll be at the store like everything is pretty much in fine shape #and probably there are people who want older stuff that's rarer and whatever now #BUT then there might be more of a demand for newer stuff at a better price or whatever idk #anyway 6 sets left in the upstairs and then the bionicles and statue of liberty are still in the attic #i'm still not convinced there couldn't be another box somewhere bc idk how to explain the few sets #that are missing so much that i can't actually do them bc even if we had gotten rid of some why would we not include the huge base or w/e #anyway we'll see! but i'm getting closer! and i did a little one this morning #that seemed to be complete it didn't list some of the pieces as extras but based on the instructions i figure they have to be #so i don't really need them like i'll include them if i find them and they're not needed for something else but yeah #anyway i can go back to fic though these first two at least are short so i may be going back to another one tomorrow #can't wait to have my room back though fr like #it is not the only thing making it feel messy because i have newer jewelry and clothes and stuff that i just have to organize and put away #but man the jewelry situation is just. it's not even having so many pieces it's like big earrings that take up a lot of space or whatever #so i just have not wanted to deal with it but it's kinda out of hand #but i can really think about that after this particular project is done #and do puzzles again oh my god i have 3 puzzles waiting for me at least #plus my mom always has a bunch to be done since everyone knows to buy her puzzles lol but that has also gotten out of hand #i wouldn't mind getting rid of a couple of mine though just bc it is like okay you do it but then you just have it and it takes up space #would be cool to have pretty ones framed tho

#sasha speaks #oboeposting #like. thank you maestro However this does not answer my question LOL?#for more context ive been only attending thurs rehearsals this term and missing tues for the sake of my workload and sanity #which Has been very good for me i think. and my playing has not suffered (though we'll see how proko 1 goes next month lol)#but next week is concert week #regular rehearsals on tues and thurs plus a dress on fri. was already planning on attending thurs and fri but wanted to ask abt tues #maestro does want me there but i can make time for it. i don't need to stay past the beethoven anyway he said it's fine #but anyway the principal oboe was out again today and of course has his part with him #so we were without oboe 1 tonight. and without the prominent oboe 1 solos. in beethoven 7...#i played cues where i had them. and a few places where i didn't but had the part more or less under my fingers already haha #i just like to play those melodies and i think it's more useful for the whole ensemble to hear those prominent parts in reh #but i think maestro was especially pleased. i mean he didn't ask me to do that but i did anyway. and without the part #but whatever i'm just happy to play.

dipping my toe into fandom discourse here, which is never a great idea, but—i really am baffled by the contingent of fans who apparently want AO3 to not only denounce but ban AI-generated works, as if there were any reliable way to distinguish between mediocre writing produced by a human and mediocre writing produced by an AI…?

#i saw someone say elsewhere‚ and agree‚ that all a ban would accomplish wld be to discourage fans who make use of AI from indicating as much #i do personally think the best writing won't be by AIs #or at least‚ it'll have been edited with a fine-toothed comb by a human who's got a really good sense of style and story themself #such that they could've produced the writing unaided‚ and the AI armature is just a crutch #but imo the big issues with AI are like. (1) the dataset it gets trained on—#though like. human artists *also* view other people's art and incorporate it into their body of influences‚ tbh?#we just get mad when they copy someone else's work TOO directly. but it's in their heads informing the art they produce!—#and (2) its potential to put humans out of work—which i have *huge* sympathy for‚ but also… that's been true of every machine ever invented #(also like. fandom is a gift economy‚ not paid work‚ so that aspect of things literally doesn't apply in an AO3 context.)#but like people have brought up the luddites in connection with this and. yeah.#ultimately there's always still a place for human operators and human oversight and human curation of the machines' raw output #and so ultimately i think we'll just have to work out what that place will be in this context #and in the meantime—i'd hope people would disclose when work has been created using AI #which they absolutely *won't* do if sites are out there banning it! people who want to use it will still use it‚ and just lie!#like you can say 'but then you don't get the satisfaction of knowing you're being praised for work *you* did‚ bc the AI did it!'#'surely that sense of being an impostor will discourage people!'#but like. hello. i've seen (and reported) multiple *very clear* instances of fic plagiarism.#the fact that those 'authors' were getting praised for‚ not only work they didn't do‚ but *someone else's* work‚ did not deter them!#saw someone going 'AO3 has its particular set of organizing principles & that's valid! we should just make our own sites where we ban AI!'#and like. hello: if your mini-archive gets popular enough that ppl want to be part of it‚ posters who use AI *will* just lie to you???#(i'm curious abt the overlap between that camp and users who think DNIs are effective‚ lol.)#anyway.#Fannish Ethical Concerns

i was nearly late for my exams AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im gonna have a damn heart attack at this rate
