A long-lost tape containing an unreleased John Lennon song is up for sale at an auction in Copenhagen, Denmark. The 1970 recording, expected to sell for $47,000, was made by four then-16-year-old schoolboys who were granted permission to skip class and interview Lennon and Ono. The 33-minute recording includes an impromptu performance after one of the boys asked Lennon if he could play something for them. Copenhagen's famous statue of The Little Mermaid has been painted red in an apparent act of protest, May 30th 2017. On the ground in front of the statue, "Denmark defend the whales of the Faroe Islands" was written, most likely a reference to the hunting of pilot whales in the North Atlantic islands during the summer months, according to Danish media. Faroe Islanders are permitted to drive herds of pilot whales into shallow waters, where they are stabbed to death. The meat and blubber are shared afterwards. Officials say there are approximately 100,000 pilot whales around the Faroe Islands and around 800 are hunted and killed each year.
