Crap I badly want to mourn Kaito for a while and yeah this is taking away from that but I don’t exactly want to not address K1-b0 literally BSoD-ing in front of us -

Normally I’m against kicking someone while they’re down but KICK HIM! KICK KICK KICK! I’m so down for this collective group smack-down.

Man, this Monokuma has been so much less in control and emotional than the previous Monokumas. I mean, the competition is pretty stacked - last Monokuma was literally the god of his world and an omniscient being that pervaded their entire ecosystem with one exception - but between throwing up a second motive in the first chapter, getting ‘overthrown’ by Monodam ** (even if he ‘went on vacation’ and this entire chapter, this ^ guy is barely hanging on by his teeth.

** I just realized the whole ‘Monodam takes over the killing game’ may have been bloody foreshadowing for this chapter sdlkfj

Monodam even got pushed to his limit for all of a whole chapter/killed two Monokubs and even though Kokichi didn’t directly kill them, he does have Gonta and Miu’s aka two classmate’s blood on his hands even with the most charitable look at chapter 4′s events before both Monodam and he ultimately take actions to end their own lives

this has been another mini-episode of ‘I read into things too much’

ANYWAY quietly skips over everything but the most pertinent Monokub dialogue, don’t mind me ~

Who would though, at this point? .... K1-b0, depending on what’s going on with him right now?

Shuichi is so pumped up thanks to Kaito and Kokichi’s teamwork! This has to be what Kaito was hoping for. Kokichi probably wanted to win the trial in its entirety, though...

Something about him saying ‘you’re certainly entitled to your opinion’ is incredibly grating and hilarious. It’s so.... passive-aggressive and banal? So un-Monokuma? I feel like behind the plushie, someone is pouting with their arms crossed tightly and just grumbling to themselves. They can’t even muster up a whole ~despair~ rant right now.

It really does sound like it’s something that’s repeating when he puts it like that, right??? And with Rantaro’s video - what is this, a test simulation of the gopher project or something?

Another wild theory appears - the original students with the talents Makoto/Hope’s Peak wanted to preserve, or for whatever reason digitized their memories/personalities/talents (think Gonta Alter-Ego) died - or were ‘hunted down’ aka the Ultimate Hunt - and in their place they pick up 16 ordinary kids to give them to, possibly by force. Or hell, maybe not, if Rantaro remembers and said something like ‘you wanted this’, though wasn’t that in regards to the killing game???  And then... they set up a simulation? Maybe? To test their viability? .... The question is who introduced Monokuma to the whole thing. Is that part of the test, or was that the cult sneaking in... and if the students really are ‘easily replaceable’, are they just picking up new ordinary kids as replacements? Are they looking for an outcome where they can defeat Monokuma? If this is a simulation, does it operate under the same rules as the NeoWorld program, where they die in real life?

Okay... t-there is a second option. I mean, Junko could really be back for the third (fourth? do Shiro/Kurokuma in UDG count?) time and I really hope that isn’t the case fff - but ‘Junko’ facing away from us for a reason, right? Which means it could be someone dressed as her, right? Even if it did sound like her seiyuu...

But out of everyone left, assuming this isn’t happening at the exact same time/immediately after the trial... well, I mean, out of everyone alive, two people could be in Junko-dress right now, right? Both Maki and Tsumugi could fit, and considering we haven’t gotten to look at Tsumugi at all and her talent... I’m heavily leaning towards her.

I think... I could maybe follow up on some of the speculating I made in this post? About Junko being elevated to a larger-than-life figure in history? Maybe there’s some leeway in there, in the same way that we have historical figures that end up being featured prominently in fiction, or even become warped/satirized in various ways because they’re so removed from us in our current time... and perhaps Junko has become more than a person in that same way, or even more than that, a title/role that can be inherited and passed down? Is it possible to get around cospox that way? It would fit in with her early Chapter 1 comments - let me see if I can dig them up from my old posts - ah this one, here, if you want to look at it. i also am totally into what she’s saying if you’re wondering why I remember this so well lmao

If she is from the cult... and this is a parallel to Angie, who constantly spoke about being a conduit for Atua’s message, Korekiyo, who was just a vessel for his sister according to himself, and Kaito, who literally acted in Kokichi’s place............. maybe....... this could work........... ????

FUCK NO MORE TRAINING TIME OR TRAINING JOKES OR STUPID TITLES FOR THE TRAINING POSTS THIS IS THE WORST TIMELINE

Man I really love the close connections Shuichi has to people in this game. Maybe that’s why I’ve been enjoying it so much? He recognizes his classmates and what they have to offer, sure - but he’s a regular kid. He’s got his favoured connections, and the people whose deaths he feels more powerfully than the others, and the reactions he has to everything around him... well, maybe that’s my own bias because they really resonate with me. I don’t usually have much of an interest for audience surrogate characters (I don’t dislike them, I just, you know, don’t adore them or anything) but - and I know now that this is a divisive topic - I really like Shuichi’s personality. I really do. And I think he has one. He’s a quiet guy - he keeps most of his thoughts on the inside - and I get that for a lot of people, quiet = no personality, but the way he has responded to a lot of the situations that have come up previously have both been different than what I’m used to seeing from ‘protagonist’ characters and, erm, pretty... familiar to me personally and that has been a bit of a shock tbh. seriously what’s with this - same birthday, same blood-type, same hobbies, likes and dislikes, same Best Boy, etc....

I’m not sure where this tangent is going tbh, but I guess I’m sorta gearing up for next chapter? We don’t have many people left to work with. 8′D Kaito’s gone, Kokichi is gone, and all we have left are a collection of differing quiet personalities. It’s going to be very, very different, that’s for sure.

I am being a bit harsh on her though - to her credit, she seemed initially confused about why he was blaming himself (despite him repeating all the things she said to him during the beginning of the trial). There’s no one left to connect them now and she seems to have realized that - they’re going to have to finally do the heavy work themselves.

Like Chapter 4 Maki, I feel like she’s speaking in that same roundabout way she did when asking about Shuichi’s interest in Kaede. “Are you lonely too?” or even, “do you need someone to talk to/be with who understands how you feel?” She still has a lot of trouble being forthright but it’s great that she’s taking the initiative, especially after her earlier confession.

I hate to say it, but I think Shuichi may have ended up in a similar state as Ryoma after Chapter 1 if he was left spinning his own wheels...

a/n: this is part 2 of this!!! i’m actually touched that you guys wanted the part 2 sobs so here it is!!

so after the incident happened, daniel keeps asking about your well-being, if you ate already or if you had a bad day and he could just buy more ice cream for you etc etc

and it made you feel a lot more uncomfortable tbh,,, like OFCOURSE you are very much thankful of him and his thoughtfulness and his care for you but like

it’s making you fall for him ALOT deeper than before

and it’s bad because you know it will end up just you being hurt

especially because he has his significant other

so you 100% want to avoid that level of hurt

but kang daniel is so consistent,,,, 

he goes like

hello! it’s me, skye, back with an actual intro post! okay so a little bit about me, i’m nineteen and live in gmt+8 which probably means i’ll be active during odd hours however i tend to stay up till 6am so there’s that. i tend to be overenthusiastic so please don’t be afraid to let me know when i need to chill! i pledge to love all of you so like this or hit me up for some plots on here or discord! because i wanna have one with everyone okay that’s it now onto some stuff about my baby lyra. sorry if it’s all over the place honestly my hands can’t keep up with my thoughts i should also be studying lol

little bit about her background

lyra grace kim was born to korean immigrant parents in france, and lived with them until she was 16, where she promptly took off to ‘experience new things’. she’s the youngest of three, with an older brother and sister. i wouldn’t say her family’s very well off, but they do well enough to afford holidays etc.

she grew up in a pretty strict environment, in a way. she had to be contactable at all times, no smoking, drugs, sex etc. they were more lenient on her grades, although they tended to be vocal of their disapproval of certain people she hung out with.

so in school she was never very good, compared to both her brother and sister. she wasn’t like a completely horrible student, but her grades could do better. she tended to fare better in subjects like art, but surprisingly her math is good. she was the more social type, definitely was the one who didn’t really care about cliques, regardless there were a certain group of people she was closer to.

she’s highkey obsessed with space lol her bedroom was themed and she had a telescope and everything. she’s also named after a constellation 

she moved away when she turned 18 because she wanted to see more out of the world, like truly experience the places instead of visiting them (if that makes sense), so she lived in several places before she came to cali, the shortest being three months the longest being a year and a half

she did consider doing a uni course, but from what she heard the astronomy course wasn’t what she had in mind and photography sounded like it would ruin what she enjoyed about taking photographs so now she’s just doing what she feels like doing.

the digital marketing coordinator position came as a surprise, she was one of the regulars at the park when she first arrived in cali, just because she liked the atmosphere. she does have quite a number of followers on her insta due to her semi nomadic ways and that was how the owners found her. so now she’s getting paid to do something that she would probably have done anyway, except now in a more focused and official capacity.

she honestly isn’t sure how long she’s going to stay, but for now she has friends and the environment is great so it’ll probably be some time before she moves on.

her parents have made it a condition that they know at least one person in the city that she moves to every time so that they still have a kind of lifeline for her in case of emergencies (they don’t really have to worry tho she makes friends easily lol)

personality stuff

she’s very charismatic and engaging, and loves to interact with people. she does tend to have a more dreamy outlook though, and might go off on certain tangents for too long. she also tends to ramble (because I might be the one ending up rambling but she does it worse than me ok hahaha)

she’s also v free spirited and kinda reckless, in the way that sometimes she doesn’t consider consequences and just does whatever she feels like doing (like climbing to the top of a stand for a better angle)

she loves people, so she’s usually interacting with at least one other person, except for her random moments of introspection where she just disappears off by herself. it’s happened enough times at parties where one moment she’s in the middle of the action where everything’s happening and the next no one knows where she is.

she just loves life, actually. wants to experience everything (good) the world has to offer.

ok so while she is v quick to make friends, she shies away from romantic stuff. this girl has walls built so high?? thanks to her sister’s broken engagement and the aftermath of it, she’s now thoroughly terrified of anything even close to that so good luck. but if you get past all of that she’s like, a hopeless romantic. i mean, she’ll squeal at cute couples including fictional ones so

it’s also very easy to tell what she’s feeling most of the time. she’s v expressive, so you can read the emotions on her face pretty clearly.

random headcanons

she can speak english, korean and french fluently, and is currently in the process of picking up more just so she can communicate with more people

she also tends to forget how to say certain words in one language but can come up with multiple terms for it in other languages ... or forgets them in all languages lol (this is actually a thing it happens frequently to me fml i know three languages and three dialects but can never recall the correct word why)

she always has packs of glow stars and sticks them up in her bedroom ceiling wherever she moves to.

she brought her telescope with her ... which might not have been the best idea bc there’s no room in her suitcases?? she doesn’t mind paying extra for baggage tho

she’s a huge fan of food and will literally try anything, except bugs. bugs are a nono.

( sunshine barbie & darth vadar ) - points to you if you know where that reference is from! i was thinking maybe a childhood best friend, who’s kinda the opposite of her. doesn’t really like people/parties as much, snarky type, but they both understand each other and have been through a lot together?

( f.r.i.e.n.d.s ) - idk about these titles honestly lol but basically a v close group, the type that you can call on for help/get them out of trouble, the ones always ready for a wild night out, or movie night in kinda thing.

( the bad influence. ) - she’s still kinda affected by her upbringing, so while she does try new things, it’s not been things like drugs etc or any major law breaking stuff ( minor crimes like trespassing into abandoned places are another story ) but this person is constantly trying  to push her boundaries orrr they’re skeptical to her view of the world and how she’s always trying to see the best in people and basically an optimistic view so they’re kinda trying to corrupt her

( the maybe, maybe not ) -so she’s really wary about anything romantic, right? and there’s this person who she clearly connects with in that way, but while she loves getting to know them better she’s also scared of getting closer to them. so this person might be trying hard but yknow its not easy after what she’s seen. i like angst ok so this will probably be a way for me to torture her :)))

( the follower(s) ) - someone who’s been like following her on insta and suddenly tada they’re working in the same place. maybe they’re shy and like, slightly intimidated of her or maybe they just wanted to have someone who they’ll be able to talk to about certain things/ask questions related to travel etc. or anything else really??

( crush? ) - maybe someone who is attracted to her and they do spend a lot of time together (maybe close enough to be best friends?) and they’ve been not v subtle about it but as always she doesn’t pick up on it lol (i’m like, a total sucker for this type of thing tbh)

( the local ) - someone who’s lived there pretty much all their life?? idk how they got to be friends but then they showed lyra around and told her all the best spots and gave her tips around the city etc and now theyre like really good friends esp bc lyra is v grateful

( roomie wanted ) - lyra likes being independent and all, but the apartment her parents made her get is a little too big for just her so she would want a roommate! probably someone who at least keeps a basic sense of cleanliness she wouldn’t want her parents to freak out if they ever dropped by

( language buddy ) - people that she’s practising learning languages they’re fluent in with, because she just wants to be able to communicate with everyone in the world lol

Thanks for the love, guys. It’s been rough as fucking fuck. I can’t go through everything because so much happened over the past like month or so (it feels like longer than that) that I would be writing a novel if I had to explain it. 

The short of it is that everything came down on me at once, personal/family life, social life, work life and some things that happened in the past that won’t stay dead. They struck all at once and I’m pretty much dead inside.

BUT I’m tired of feeling this way, so I’m gonna try and make some minor quality of life changes and just try and get over it. It’ll take time though, as these things do.

Thanks for being so patient with me and for staying with this blog even though I haven’t been able to give you quality content for a long time.  Are you scared of spiders? Totally depends on the size of them... I can handle little ones BUT NOT THE FAT ONES.

 Favourite food? Probably has to be pasta or sweet chilli chicken wraps? OH, or chicken nuggets.

 Favourite foreign food? I’m really fussy when it comes to foreign food. I’d say I like Chinese food... but that’s basically chips, rice and curry sauce. I want to try more tho. 

Are you a clean or messy person? I’m pretty clean tbh. I enjoy cleaning?? I often clean Becca’s room for her bc i’m the best.

Who was your first real crush Lmfao I had a huge crush on a girl who worked in a coffee shop??? how tragic :’) but then I went on a date with a girl to that exact coffee shop & I fell for her and forgot about the petty coffee girl crush.

 How many piercings do you have? I have my ears, my helix and my nose pierced atm.

How fast can you run? hahahaha. i cant run for more than 30 seconds without losing my breath

 What colour is your hair? Dark brown atm. It’ll no doubt be 50 shades of brown in a few weeks tho.

 What colour are your eyes? My eyes are really blue. 

 What are you allergic to? *laughs* I’m allergic to scented shower gel & basically anything that has perfume in it. I hate my skin.

 Do you keep a journal? Yes, I like to journal whenever I have time. I journal no matter what mood I’m in however, I write more if I’m in a bad mood or I’m stressed / anxious - its a great way to reduce bad feelings.

What do your parents do? My mum is a theatre sister & my dad is a health and safety manager at b.a.e systems (not bae systems) 

What makes you angry? I fucking DESPISE it when people cough too many times in a short period of time (I know that sounds petty af) but it goes right through me and idek. 

Have you already thought of baby names, and if so what are they? I really like the name Imogene for a girl & Harrison for a boy.

 Do you want a boy a girl for a child? If the baby is healthy, that’s all that should matter!

 What are you strengths? I make a mean soft boiled egg. :’)

What are your weaknesses? I get jealous too easy and I find it hard to control. I also find it difficult to express my emotions - i bottle things up for too long and then I lose control.

 How did you get your name? My dad picked my name bc my mum wanted to call me Olivia & my dad hated it.

 Color of your room? White and a really, really deep red. I decorated my room as a little project to help pick me up during depression - i really wanted to paint it black but I wasn’t allowed fml.
