The overall design is very simplistic but the shape was challenging to make because of the uneven way its belly bulges

Weird talents Cross Guild have:
Buggy can tie a bow with his tongue. Not a simple knot, no. A perfect, pretty bow. It makes for a good party trick. (He refrains from reminding people that he can detach his tongue.)
Crocodile can read upside down and backwards, in normal speed, without trouble.
Mihawk can crochet. I know that's not a weird hobby but he can also kill someone with a crochet hook, which has to count for something.

so i did end up making his silly little doily. it's not terribly difficult but i'll put what i did under the cut
chain 4, slst into first chain to create a circle
chain 3/chainless dc/stacked sc (your choice, i do chainless dc personally i think it looks best) in the ring. 11 more dc in the ring. slst into 3rd chain/first stitch
chain 1, sc in the same stitch, ch3, sc in next stitch around, slst into first sc
slst to the middle of the next space, ch1 and sc in the space. ch4 and sc into the next space all the way around
continue to repeat the previous rounds adding one chain to each space until you reach 8 chains (slst to the middle of the space, ch1 and sc in the space, chain x, sc in the next stitch around, slst into first sc)
slst one into the next space, ch3/chainless dc/stacked sc to begin the first petal, 7 more dc in the space, slst into next sc, 8dc in next space, slst into next sc around. slst into the final sc from the previous round and tie off.

It only just clicked with this bag, which is probably bag number like 65, exactly how my ch2 functions as a stitch and how to increase with it correctly. Like I've been staring it pretty much this whole time (years !) fucking up in different ways every time.
It's still visible but it's much neater than usual and I have 2 stitches from the chain below, which is what I need for this particular base. Yay !

not to be FUCKING dramatic, but crochet is intuitive and logical and knitting is of the devil and feels like every step is just made up on a whim

ok well i saved the little drop-leafed cabinet on wheels (accidentally snapped the dowels and a small part of the piece that props up the leaf while i was bringing it upstairs but thats ok i can get new dowels and wood glue). it's not vented like i thought lol the slots at the top are removable plastic, possibly to organize letters/cds? anyway all my crochet stuff fit inside perfectly and i am so stoked

Anyone have any advice for steam / sray blocking yarn that's dry clean only?? In my infinite wisdom I never checked the care tags till I was half way done this project, and now I've a v curly patchwork tunisian crochet sweater with some dry clean only yarn interspersed with hand wash only 100% wool. I was planning on spray blocking anyway but now I'm concerned lol
The yarn is 70% wool, 15% alpaca, 15% silk if that makes a difference (I assume the dry cleaning is for the colours, as I've never had a blend like this that needed that care before!!)

me when i plan out a sweater in tunisian crochet in a faux knit stitch (bc i dont know how to knit but love the look of knit color work) at a certain size from my gauge swatch but i decide tunisian crochet is too hard so i just actually learn how to knit instead. and have to redesign my sweater pattern at a different size bc the stitch sizes are completely different on the gauge swatches from tunisian crochet knit st to actual knit. anyways. bye forever

out of curiosity, how long does it generally take to design a pattern? like, crochet, knitting, sewing, any of it, really. i've tossed around a bunch directly from my brain but due to The AuDHD i never really ever had a concrete moment of sitting down and intentionally putting together a pattern. i mostly just wing it whenever the urge hits me. fun in theory and in practice, but not a great way to time the creative process lmao
i need to know for uh. reasons. like how long is a reasonable time period to gather crafters together online for charity-related reasons and ask them to come up with something new. those kinds of reasons
