I firmly believe that Kabru is autistic but masks so hard that he’s convinced himself and (almost) everyone around him that he’s neurotypical.

That man’s special interest is people and how they work, but he just thinks it’s him Being So Good At Socializing — like he doesn’t spend 95% of his time people watching and adjusting his personality in response to the traits he witnesses and obsessing over the intricacies of human interaction while mapping an ever growing relationship chart in his head. For fun. He even admits it in the manga!

Like, look at him!!!

It’s such a shame that — because he’s the narrative foil to Laios and his interest is generally considered more “socially acceptable” in both their world and our own — more people don’t realize this about him. He’s constantly misinterpreted as a horribly manipulative person who only acts the way he does to use the people around him, when that’s explicitly shown to not be the case at all. Kabru is naturally empathetic and is almost always thinking about other people, regardless of whether or not they’re right there with him or a thousand miles away.

I mean, his most defining motivation is his desire to do everything he can to avoid another tragedy like the one at Utaya. Someone who doesn’t care wouldn’t have a goal like that, and they most certainly wouldn’t go about it the way he does. He’s constantly working to help people who can help everyone else and tries so hard to make sure that anyone who seems like a threat is actually someone he needs to worry about before doing anything about it. His supposed aversion to Laios is only because of the ridiculous trolley problem he’s set up in his own head.

Outside of that, he (rather justifiably) hates monsters but is desperate to understand Laios’ love for them and his apparently most selfish goal in getting close to the guy was literally just to become friends with him.

When he’s interacting with the canaries and they imply that they’re going to take him and all of his friends to the West, his first thought is of Rin and how much she’d hate to be stuck in the place that gave her so many bad memories.

He helps Kuro learn Common when Mickbell is asleep and firmly looks forward to the day that the half-foot and Kuro can communicate properly so that their relationship can get properly started without any miscommunication.

And he understands Mithrun with only a handful of weeks AT BEST interacting with him, getting enraged when the elf seems to give up and immediately trying to help him find a new motivation for life.

I’m excited just thinking about the day that Kabru starts unmasking more and more around his friends — both new and old — because if being with my current friend group has taught me anything, it’s that hanging out with anyone so unabashedly themselves is bound to make you more comfortable with yourself too. It’s part of the reason why I like Labru so much! There’s something nice about imagining them hanging out in the throne room or laying in the grass outside and talking for hours on end about their special interests. They might not strictly understand what the other finds so fascinating about monsters or people, but they can grasp that shared feeling of love.

They probably influence each other in really good ways too, with Kabru helping Laios figure out what people are thinking even when it doesn’t make sense or Laios helping Kabru understand that not everyone and everything needs to be analyzed a thousand times over. They both get to learn that there are people like them and people who will love them without them ever having to change a thing about themselves. They deserve to know that they’re fine the way they are.

We all agree that Rin's his father's son in the complete opposite way Yukio's his mother's son, right?

Rin is what Satan could have become if he have had the chance of growing slowly, in an environment of love and encouraging to be kind with other.

And Yukio is what Yuri could have become if she haven't had a family that encouraged her to be kind with demons, and had been raised to be a soldier rather than a free spirit kind of kid. (Not that I think Yukio was raised to just be a soldier, but he wasn't exactly raised to be compassionate with demons).

They're a mirror of their parents, where they got the looks, they got the other's traits to compensate.

Rin was (and still is) reckless, he was impulsive, hotheaded, he didn't stop to think of the consequences of his actions before doing them. He is kind, and a born protector, he opens his arms for everyone (though knows where to trace a line), he is keen to care for others, and do his best to provide.

Yukio was envious, too prideful sometimes, tended to himself and had a hard time accepting help, even more looking for help himself, he has a narrow vision of things. He's willing to sacrifice himself for his brother, and for the world, he tries to protect everyone, to know everything, he's an amazing learner and quick to think in logical solutions, tracing plans and go with them.

thinking ab love hangover with rin... because contrary to popular opinion i think he'd be a GREAT ex (at least outwardly). breaks up pretty detached, behaves normal-ish (however normal rin is) with you on the street, lets u have all ur hangout spots, ur friends hate him, 10/10 ex behaviour. just when he thinks he's over u you come back to literally HAUNT him. clingy af making bad jokes intercepting him at training forcing him to have lunch with u his totally desperate ex that makes him realise he's not over you at all!!

Harpy mickrin AU yay! Sorta loosely set in Aatom87's harpy & zookeeper AU- Rin is a sooty owl and Mickbell is a cockatiel. You know how parrots are...

The zoo keeps them in the same enclosure out of lack of funds to try and fix behavioral issues. Rin was being too self-isolating and Mickbell was starting shit with other harpies and bonded with zookeeper Kuro instead, which is unhealthy, so they put them in a side enclosure to bond together and assigned Kabru to it instead. Thus they are forced to have enrichment together.

Kabru has it tough since they both act like they hate him, except one is only a tsundere act lol. Mickbell like "huh?? You stealing my cagemate punk?? Wanna fight??" and he's not even wrong lol. Tiny bird very angry very aggressive, cue Kabru getting scratched every day... Kabru leaving their enclosure after a whole showdown of cockatiel Mick screaming scratching biting inflicting him little wounds and then Mick goes right back to "I'm just a little guy"ing @ Rin. Keep going buddy i'm sure... one day...... you'll win her over and make her laugh. Or something.

Although hmmm Kabru hating monsters would mean he wouldn't work there in the first place. Maybe.... He's there undercover to investigate the zoos for corruption or animal-monster abuse or smth... And the injured Mithrun harpy is evidence that he has to take under his wing ba dum tss <- this is how my AUs get out of control

Absolutely! If anything, he's probably been casually teaching him how to use a sword his entire life in preparation for the possibility that he might one day need Kurikara- which he hopes he doesn't, but you can never be too prepared! When Rin holds Kurikara for the first time, he suddenly understands what all of the lessons were for.

...and when Rin's seal does eventually break, Noctis is absolutely ready to pass on a lesson from his mentor: the dumb attack names.

I’d like to give Isagi some credit and assume what he’s saying here implies he views this way of playing currently as just one of his many options.

For all the dooming and glooming about him this match I feel like people forget that he’s PRETTY damn self-reflective, and has been even in this arc. Like even up until this moment. And he still is. He seems detached and that’s because he’s just accepted that he can’t beat the other team on his own, and it sucks. But to him the way he’s playing right now is a “version”, not his end all be all.

Playing with his friends like Bachi Chigiri and Nagi and even Kunigami back when he was normal wouldn’t drive him to this state of stress, it never has. This is clearly the result of the stressful environment (something that’s been discussed a lot this arc, the environment you’re in and how you’ll use it to make it the right path for you) Rin and Kaiser have thrown him into. Which I think we can all agree is not a good one. There is no camaraderie, encouragement, uplifting of each other. Rin is crazy, Kaiser is crazy (and both of them have been taking it out on Isagi THIS WHOLE TIME BTW), Noa and Loki are self-serving dicks, Kunigami is basically absent from this arc because of the shit he’s dealing with, and Isagi is pretty much on his own.

So the desperation to just end this match (and shut Rin up) is coming out like this.

I secretly hope that Rin has some German insults up his sleeve for Kaiser, because I want to believe that his emo ass knows Tokyo Hotel (when this band was still emo) and thanks to them he learned some of the language.

… or just in case, he learned a few insults in the most popular languages, because you never know what nationality the person he will hate will be.

Could you guys pray for me? I'm currently stuck in a job with a very toxic work environment (managers have literally told us that "we shouldn't expect recognition for our work," "if you're unhappy with your job that's your fault, not ours," and basically that there is no growth within the company). The only jobs around me that aren't as toxic or mentally draining are ones that I am currently going into a Master's for. So while I don't have the exact experience, per se, I am in the process of doing so and am more than willing to learn. My mental health has really been taking a toll because of all this. Please pray that I'm able to leave this job and get a better one soon.
