Exodus is back up!
Tumblr media
Half of it, at least. 21/51 chapters, to be precise. [LINK HERE]
I took it down because it needed some extra work, and if I can say so myself - it has paid off. And, I wouldn’t have gotten very far if not for several beta/culture readers. You know who you are, and I love you for existing. Thank you for finding me here on Tumblr @goodomensafterdark and on Reddit. Most have come to me after starting to read it, and I am beyond grateful, honored and on the verge of tears for that.
Some people are angry at me for even daring to write this fic (though none of them have actually read it, as far as I know), due to its themes. That scared me for a while, and is most of the reason why I took it down, but a gang of die-hard readers and friends insisted I’d keep writing.
Yes, blah-blah-blah, but what is it about? Two students meet during a lecture at a university in a dystopian, future city and find they have a lot in common despite vastly different backgrounds.
TWs: All the E things, basically. Both realistic recreational drug use and addiction. Past trauma of most kinds, mentions of suicide.
But all shall be well in the end, for love is as strong as death.

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. Isaiah 53:2-8

FOLLOWING JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOUR OR TRADITIONS OF MANKIND IN THIS CASE BABYLON.
I have been asked recently by Catholics and non Catholics difference between Easter and Passover, the Word of God, the Lord Jesus Christ resurrected on the last Day of Passover and not on a pagan feast. The origins of Easter is from a pagan spring festival with the pagan goddess of Ishtar, the fertility goddess.
You can celebrate twice the Resurrection of our Lord which I do, on Resurrection Sunday and Passover.
These traditions with the rosary, the virgin Mary, ash Wednesday, confessions to a priest and purgatory, and paying indulgences for a dead person, ALL these are unbliblical and evil.
Spencer Smith has a podcast on the explanation of Lent.

AS A FORMER CATHOLIC I SAW THE DIFFERENCE, RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WAS SAVED BY HIS GRACE AND MERCY BY FAITH ONLY ON HIM AND IS FINISHED WORK AT THE CROSS. READING THE WORD OF GOD REVEALED ALL HERESIES THAT EXISTED THEN AND NOW.
STUDY THE WORD OF GOD AND THE STORY OF TAMMUZ, NIMROD, BAAL, BAALAM, IT IS ALL IN THE BIBLE THESE PAGAN GODS. EZECHIEL CHAPTER 8 EXPLAINS THESE LADIES WEEPING FOR TAMMUZ, LENT IS A PERIOD OF MOURNING AND WEEPING EXACTLY AS EXPLAINED IN THE BOOK OF EZECHIEL.
FORGIVEN ONLY BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND HIS FINISHED WORK AT THE CROSS THAT IS THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION.

Isaiah 53 NLT 1 Who has believed our message?     To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm? 2 My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,     like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,     nothing to attract us to him. 3 He was despised and rejected—     a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.     He was despised, and we did not care.
4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;     it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,     a punishment for his own sins! 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,     crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.     He was whipped so we could be healed. 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.     We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him     the sins of us all.
7 He was oppressed and treated harshly,     yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.     And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,     he did not open his mouth. 8 Unjustly condemned,     he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants,     that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down     for the rebellion of my people. 9 He had done no wrong     and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal;     he was put in a rich man’s grave.
10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him     and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,     he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life,     and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. 11 When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,     he will be satisfied. And because of his experience,     my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous,     for he will bear all their sins. 12 I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,     because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels.     He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

Isaiah 52-53
God, I've heard about Your faithful Servant—Your Son. But after giving my life to You, I have been finally diving into Your Word in the last year. Today, You led me to Isaiah 52-53, and I am speechless. No words can fully express the depth of my gratitude. I am so thankful for our relationship—for the countless times You've picked me up before I could fall back into darkness. I've learned about Your Son and the massive sacrifice He made—the humbleness of His heart as He followed Your will. Your light is SO powerful, Jesus.
What surprised me most in Your Word today was:
Isaiah 53:2-3 2 He was always close to the Lord. He grew up like a young plant, like a root growing in dry ground. There was nothing special or impressive about the way he looked, nothing we could see that would cause us to like him. 3 People made fun of him, and even his friends left him. He was a man who suffered a lot of pain and sickness. We treated him like someone of no importance, like someone people will not even look at but turn away from in disgust.
Isaiah gives a more of an interesting description of Jesus than we find anywhere in the Gospel.
Jesus had no special beauty to make people desire Him. It doesn't mean He was ugly. But it does mean that He did not have the 'advantage' of good looks. People were drawn to who He was, not His appearance.
This is also something we should consider as the Church. The Gospel doesn't need to be 'dressed up' with flashy presentations or worldly appeal. Only the Holy Spirit can make Jesus truly attractive to people.
I guess this reflects that common saying: someone may not be physically attractive, but their personality makes them beautiful. Jesus is the perfect example of that truth—His love, His sacrifice, and His character are what truly draw people in.

Scripture for Today: Psalm 65:8 “The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, You call forth songs of joy.”
These light shows are eerie and breathtaking!  I have seen them in the countryside of Vermont and from the airplane window flying over Iceland.  These bright dancing lights are most often pale green and pink, although they have also lit the skies in shades of red, yellow, blue and violet.  They can take the form of clouds, patches, arcs and shooting rays.  But what I find most impressive are the rippling curtains they sometimes form!  I understand that they can be explained away as gaseous particles from the earth colliding with charged particles from the sun.  But that does not lessen the awe I feel when seeing this creative wonder of our God.
Today’s verse tells us that the whole earth is filled with awe at His wonders.  From the mountains He has formed to the stilling of the roaring seas, He answers us with His awesome and righteous deeds. (verses 5-7)  And because we see His incredible creative power in nature, we have hope.  He not only stills the roaring waves but also stills the turmoil of nations (vs. 7).  He stills the turmoil in our hearts as well, calling forth “songs of joy” where there were none.
Seeing the light of the Aurora Borealis or the beautiful light of a sunset reminds me that Jesus is Light as well (John 8:12).  His light dispels the darkness and gloom that can gather in my heart when faced with an impossible situation.  His power has no limits.  He can heal my heart when overwhelmed with crushing emotion.  He can bring back the joy when I turn to Him and trust His power.
Thank you Lord, that for You nothing is impossible!

On the Road to Emmaus, Some Disciples Connected the Dots. Have YOU?
Shortly after Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, some disciples were walking on the road to Emmaus with a Rabbi unfamiliar to them who obviously knew the Old Testament pretty well… They didn’t really know this Rabbi, but he was bold enough to be somewhat sharp with them: “He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to…

Church notes - 23rd February 2025
23rd Matthew 21:12 - 27 Jesus Declares His Authority
Authority The power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. 'He had absolute authority over his subordinates.'
Jesus had entered Jerusalem as a statement.
Isaiah 53:1 - 7
2 Samuel 5:6 - 10 David conquering Jerusalem, using a water tunnel.
vs 12 - 13
It's not what you think Rather the meaning of the temple had been corrupted by: Them making it A brigand's lair.
the center of resistance to Roman authority.
Instead vs 14, 15 Jesus healing the blind and lame. (Contrast, David keeping them out of Jerusalem after his conquest.)
Our pride is tied up in being right. Jesus was confronting the pride of the Pharisees and Saducees.
Jesus was:
Looking for fruit -- In the Temple -- On the fig tree
The Fig Tree A metaphor
for the Pharisees and Saducees lacking fruit.
The mountain
The Temple was built on a mountain
There is something better.
Think on the Messiah King and His authority.
Where does He need to find fruit?
In us
What would it look like to… … stop treating Jesus as simply a role model and start serving Him as our sovereign King? To deny ourselves, take up our cross, and make serving Jesus our highest priority? Then We wouldn't be content with just blending into the world around us. We would like as loyal subjects of a heavenly kingdom, giving our lives in service to Christ our King.

Odin Walks the Earth Once More
Odin, better than anyone, knew there always had to be a First.
Born into the void of chaos, he had forged himself from nothing—a will unshaken, a force unmatched. Where only nightmare had once flowed, he built Earth, so that life might Be.
youtube
Alone for aeons, he carved the first stairway to the Heavens and climbed it, step by step, carrying every particle, every byte of existence with him. And when Loki, weary of it all, let the Kingdom slip away like a forgotten trinket, Odin restored it—once, and never again.
youtube
He was the First. He was the Last. He had always existed.
And now, he would walk among mortals once more—not to rule, not to destroy, but to remind them what had been won.

To see the truth you need a mind that doesn't reject truth.

Final Blessing on Reuben, Gad, and half-tribe of Manasseh
Joshua 22:7-9. Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them, And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold,…
