honestly i love the fact that shen yuan is an unreliable narrator and i love it for one reason only—i get to imagine things that are going on in the background of svsss that fly completely over his head

example: it’s my hc that as the Author™, shang qinghua has the power to directly break the fourth wall and is constantly looking into the metaphorical camera and talking shit about him, but the story’s in shen yuan’s pov and he never even notices cause he’s too wrapped up in Anxiety and Gay Repression. shang qinghua is fully aware that his story is getting turned into published danmei and he’s actively criticizing both the audience and his fellow characters.
