“I’ve designed another avatar.” Blue Girl confessed exciteably.
Ghost Girl laughed, amused, “Can’t say I’m surprised to hear that. You’ve grown up a lot since coming under my tutelage, and I’d love to see it.”
Blue Girl cringed. She couldn’t believe how predictable she was being but oh well. She was just lucky that Ghost Girl found it more cute than vapid.
“I’ve already picked out a name and theme for this next avatar of mine.” she replied.
“Oh? I’d love to hear it.” Ghost Girl nudged her. She leaned up against the column.
“Blue Angel is my past, Blue Girl is my present and… Blue Maiden will be my future.” Blue Girl began to explain. “I’m sure you’ve already noticed. Like you said, I’ve grown up a lot.”
But not enough to get over silly, inappropriate crushes. It was so embarrassing. Still, Blue Girl grinned and beared it as Ghost Girl mulled over the idea in her head, she nodded along.
“Makes sense.” Ghost Girl replied. “Can I help?”
“Er, yeah, sure.” Blue Girl replied. “Aqua’s helped a lot as well, her Marincess cards were very inspiring.”
Speaking of Aqua, she needed some time to herself. A big battle was coming up and she was still licking wounds, grieving for her now dead lover whom she hoped she would avenge with Aoi as her weapon. So, she was above ground and in real life whilst Blue Girl and Ghost Girl had this sort of pre-war pep talk.
“Alright, let’s get to the montage, sounds good?” Ghost Girl suggested with a wink.
   “Sure.” Blue Girl replied.
In her journey to learning the art and science of hacking, this was new field for her.
The Link VRAINS’ character creation screen was intended to be a one-person affair. With a bit of tweaking, one - or more - people could be forced into the so-called stalls of the wardrobe and that’s exactly what Ghost Girl did. Her presence in the lonely white of it all transformed it and honestly made it feel more mall-like.
Otherwise, the character creation screen was quite blank. It was a strange, liminal space which encouraged the player to move on as quickly as possible to start duelling - and then come back to get those premium items locked behind a certain amount of wins. Blue Girl stood in front of the mirror and called up the near endless parade of clothing selection screens.
Items could even be pinned, or more accurately, hung up on clothing racks for future reference. She already had quite a few from previous iterations of Blue Angel and what she had been chasing with Blue Girl, even some ideas from Aqua, too.
It was a cruel system, the more wins, the more items of clothing. That’s why most new players tend to look the same, and quite normie at that. There were some complementary outfits which were heroic looking but that furthered the homogenisation of the digital world. The fact that avatars could even be hacked and stolen worsened that.
That had happened to Playmaker and Aoi had even done it to Ema. Then she recoloured and re-styled the base clothing into Blue Girl. Which is what people with decency do. Though her imagination very much shone more in Blue Angel and now Blue Maiden.
Blue Angel was based on a pre-existing IP, true, but the design was mixed into so many headcanons and other flairs which were uniquely Aoi that most people didn’t actually realise. Blue was a common favourite colour to have after all and there were plenty of things which could be blue and, better yet, had wings just like her beloved Trickstars. Angels just so happened to fit that bill.
As for Blue Maiden, however, the trifecta in this legacy of growing up and finding herself… Underneath the digital glamour, Aoi glowed with so much pride. She didn’t want to brag or seem vain but Blue Maiden was, one hundred per-cent, unique to her. She was born of her experiences, her memories, her values, her imagination. Her everything in short.
   Yet she was missing something.
And Ghost Girl must have sensed that, too.
Ghost Girl’s lips screwed up in thought as she admired Blue Maiden in the mirror. Her big debut wouldn’t be for a week so there was no rush, in theory, but Blue Maiden’s completion appeared within grasp so they may as well try to find it. So, they studied - together - what Aoi had made thus far with this brand new avatar.
For hair length, blue Maiden was a return to form, to childhood and to Blue Angel. Merely lightened and instead done up with a more casual or mature-looking style with the half ponytail. On her cheek, she had the teardrop, inspired by the “twin ponytails” that floated above Aqua’s head.
Further down, as for clothing, it was clear she was harkening back to her friends and comrades with a fresh take on the skin-tight catsuit. Made modest, somehow, with additional layers - even if one of them was a mini-skirt.
The overall atmosphere of the new avatar was determined. Not necessarily peppy but definitely determined. It was cute but not too adorable. Beautiful and pretty but not supermodel hitting the runway levels, there was, instead, some honesty to the design.
Yet still despite, the culmination of elements harmonising, Ghost Girl and Blue Maiden concurred: something was missing. They stared at the mirror, Blue Maiden turning around and twirling, showing off her dress, leggings, and accessories from all angles. Her expression was frustrated and stormy. Especially next to Ghost Girl.
Ignoring even the fact she was getting eyed up and down by her crush, and it wasn’t anywhere near flirtatious in nature, Blue Maiden was all pent up with aesthetic confusion.
Her own upgrade had been so effortless. Seamless. Like she had always been that colour palette or in that outfit. It was maddening but it was exactly Ghost Girl’s touch for that intangible quality until…
   “Eureka.” Ghost Girl smirked.
Blue Maiden could practically see the light bulb over Ghost Girl’s head as she seemed all too smug in her little ah-ha moment.
“What is it?” Blue Maiden asked.
Ghost Girl caressed Blue Maiden’s cheek and took her by the chin, forcing her to look at her straight on. Blue maiden was startled by the forceful affection and even more forceful gaze as Ghost Girl relished knowing something Blue Maiden didn’t in this epiphany.
“Why, a girl’s best friend of course.” Ghost Girl said. “A little bit of lippy.”
“You mean, lipstick?” Blue Maiden replied.
   “Of course.” Ghost Girl teased.
She let go of Blue Maiden shrugged.
“Makeup has the potential to be a very reliable weapon, you know.” Ghost Girl replied.
Blue Maiden hesitated. As Zaizen Aoi, she used moisturiser and that was it. Her previous avatars flirted with the idea of a little extra, sure. Those eyelashes of Blue Angel’s were natural for all intents and purposes given that she was all pixels. But in real life, Aoi never used mascara or foundation, honestly she was fairly certain she would poke her eye out if she tried to apply eye shadow if she wasn’t careful.
Was lipstick going a step too far?
Blue Maiden caught the glint of artificial light off Ghost Girl’s lips. She used lipstick and plenty of it, in a burgundy shade. Bold and saucy. It was a pretty shade that looked good on her. Aoi had, in private, thought much about Ema’s lipstick. Or her lips in general, actual. Mostly about kissing them.
“What do you say?” Ghost Girl prompted her.
“We can try, there’s no harm in that.” Blue Maiden replied.
“Will you let me do the honours?” Ghost Girl teased.
“Be my guest.” Blue Maiden replied.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she made room for Ghost Girl. Not when it mattered when Ghost Girl was intent on getting up close and personal. From mere centimetres away, Blue Maiden saw every detail of Ghost Girl’s steely grey eyes and it was enough to make her weak in the knees.
To say nothing of how Ghost Girl handled her.
Once more, her fingers, well, ghosted along Blue Maiden’s face, examining her cheekbones, admiring the facial structure that Aoi had given her avatar in this instance. She looked older but she had never felt younger as there were sparks of yearning on Ghost Girl’s fingertips at every touch. Every caress. And all of it eventually trained on Blue Maiden’s cupid bow lips.
Blue Maiden felt as though she were going insane. She wasn’t sure when this attraction to her mentor began but once it started, it couldn’t be stopped. Everything about this situation seemed engineered to tease her specifically over this crush. There was no reason to feel this way but Bessho Ema was a force of nature.
She was a beautiful and sharp, practical woman, like a secretary bird. Her laughter was mischievous and her appetite was for all the best things in life, such as hot sauce. She was miserly and self-serving but not selfish, she just knew what she liked and where her limits ought to lie. She gave the impression of intimacy with such nonchalant demeanour and yet kept everyone at arm's length.
Even Aoi but for good reason. They were a team, mentor and mentee with a gulf of age difference between them. She had a lot to do if she was going to turn a Charisma Duelist into a treasure hunting hacker.
Aoi appreciated the attention and the studies. That’s why she couldn’t get Ema out of her head as something more to aspire to but rather admire, as a woman in a romantic way.
Ugh, stupid, silly, immature, Blue Maiden bit her tongue as her thoughts whirled around in her head whilst Ghost Girl was quiet, having conversations on her own in her mind.
She was also ten years older than Aoi… It would never work, it was inappropriate and stupid. Yet even under the cool, mature facade of Blue Maiden, Aoi couldn’t help herself and she grasped at straws, adoring every touch and murmur no matter how fleeting as a pitiful hope that one day, she really would grow into someone Ema could be with like that.
Ghost Girl, however, seemed oblivious to the reactions that she was giving Aoi underneath the veneer of her digital self, the near war of it all. She hummed and hawed whilst deciding the colour she ought to apply to Blue Maiden’s and then voila. She decided with a foxy smile, she gave a twinkling gesture with her other hand, she produced a tube of lipstick from thin air.
“Tada.” Ghost Girl cheered. “What do you think?”
She uncapped the tube and gave it a twist. The colour was revealed to be coral pink but Blue Maiden immediately noticed something incongruent with the lipstick. It was just a digital prop, not real in the slightest, and yet the product inside of the casing appeared used, with the rivulet of where lips had worn it down.
“Fun fact, this is a discontinued lipstick from a product placement promotion a couple years ago but I saved it just in case. I’ve experimented with it here and there but definitely have a winter complexion but you, dearest,” Ghost Girl explained, almost flirtatiously, “have a spring complexion. What do you say?”
“I say let’s try it.” Blue Maiden replied.
“Then hold still, and pucker your lips.” Ghost Girl said.
Blue Maiden nodded and did as she was told. She felt awkward and gawky as she puckered her lips for Ghost Girl. She felt like it was a kiss left hanging - not that she would know much about that, having never kissed anyone ever despite thinking a lot about it.
   Especially with Ema.
And oh no… Did this count?
It was a fake lipstick in a fake lipstick tube, despite the impression Ghost Girl’s lips had left upon the wax but did this count as, like, an indirect kiss?
Aoi had to centre herself and imagine herself cool as cool could be to stop Blue Maiden’s cheeks from reddening. She took a breath and Ghost Girl applied the lipstick to her mouth. She started on the inner ridges of her lips, where they were most pressed and crinkled together. She dabbed it on with all the precision of a makeup artist.
“Now rub them together.” Ghost Girl told her next as she drew back ever so slightly.
Blue Maiden smushed her lips together, twisting them side to side to spread the colour over her lips. She wondered if this, too, was like kissing. It felt strange and awkward but maybe it would be less so with a second person.
“Okay, stop, let me re-apply.” Ghost Girl said.
Blue Maiden stopped and on went the second coat. Ghost Girl was delicate, stroking Blue Maiden’s lips at an angle with the tube, she got into the corners lightly and meanwhile, in the middle, was more heavy in sensation and attention. Her carefulness was soon rewarded, however, as the feeling of the lipstick was faint but real enough for Aoi to feel it through the sensory experience of the Link VRAINS. As a result, it felt silky and shiny. She smiled.
“Does it look good?” she asked.
Ghost Girl eyed her up, from head to toe and back again, then smacked her own lips together with a satisfied noise, “I think it looks perfect.”
Blue Maiden smiled excitedly. It bubbled up through her and she felt much like a princess thanks to the application of the last dab of makeup. Ghost Girl let her go and she turned around to face the mirror. Just that little extra whip of pale pink was immediately noticeable - and changed the entire aura of Blue Maiden.
“It looks amazing.” Blue Maiden replied, hardly containing the girlish squeal from within.
“I’m glad.” Ghost Girl replied and she capped the tube of lipstick. “You are ready to rock and roll, kiddo. You are growing up so fast.”
That, too, got a rise out of Blue Maiden that she had to quell for the sake of face. She nodded and stepped back.
“Thank you, Ghost Girl, it’s all because of you.” Blue Maiden replied.
“Aw, not quite, don’t sell yourself short, Blue Maiden.” Ghost Girl said.
Blue Maiden got a thrill out of that too. To be called by her newest username like that, the one which was meant to symbolise the arrival of her soon-to-be adulthood. In a couple years’ time but who knows what that would look like given the battles so much closer.
“Let’s kick ass next week, yeah?” Ghost Girl said.
   “Yeah.” Blue Maiden replied, determined.
They logged out shortly after that exchange. With the details of Blue Maiden’s avatar finalised to Aoi’s satisfaction, there was little reason to dawdle, after all. They needed to rest up, get affairs in order, pretend that everything was going to be normal for a little while longer whilst quite the storm brewed in the near horizon.
But until then… Aoi was happy. Satisfied. And totally crushing on Ema. Maybe even more so than before as she cherished the sensations of Ghost Girl’s hand against her face. She was so gentle, it was mesmerising.
Aoi sighed as she flopped into the soft middle of her bed. It was tucked in the corner of her room, the lights were dim and the pink of her walls turned a dusty rose. She smiled to herself, cuddling against her old Evilswarm Mandragora and she was comforted by its familiar scent.
Yet proved what a child she was still…
Aoi closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, thinking about the kind of adult she wanted to become. To bring the spirations that had inspired the creation of her Blue Maiden avatar to fruition. She imagined hair growing long again and perhaps becoming the kind of woman who used makeup in the day to day. The glistening coral pink lipstick of her mouth. The kinds of freedoms afforded to only adults, a debit card and a drivers licence for a motorcycle.
Her daydream evolved as she thought more and more about it on the brink of sleep but she knew, deep down, and it pained her heart, but a change of clothes was not equivalent to a change of mind. She would always be Ema’s little protege.

Understanding Outdoor Racks and IP Rated Outdoor Cabinets: Protecting Your Equipment Outdoors
In today's fast-paced, tech-driven world, network infrastructure and telecommunications are essential in virtually every industry. As businesses expand and networks grow, the need to securely house equipment in outdoor environments has become more critical than ever. That’s where outdoor racks and IP rated outdoor cabinets come into play. These enclosures are designed to protect sensitive electronic and networking equipment from external environmental factors such as dust, moisture, and temperature fluctuations, ensuring optimal performance and durability.
What Are Outdoor Racks?
Outdoor racks are specially designed enclosures used to house and protect networking, server, and telecommunications equipment in outdoor settings. These racks are essential for industries where equipment needs to be installed outside, such as telecommunications, data centers, industrial plants, and even in public areas for smart city solutions.
Outdoor racks are typically made of durable materials like steel or aluminum, which provide the strength and durability needed to withstand harsh weather conditions. They are also designed with features like ventilation systems, cable management, and locking mechanisms to ensure both the safety of the equipment and ease of maintenance.
Outdoor racks come in various sizes and configurations to accommodate different types of equipment. For instance, they may include racks for mounting servers, network switches, routers, and other hardware. Depending on the specific use case, these racks may be wall-mounted, floor-mounted, or pole-mounted, providing flexibility in installation.
The Importance of IP Rated Outdoor Cabinets
When it comes to outdoor equipment protection, IP rated outdoor cabinets are a critical component. The IP (Ingress Protection) rating system is used to classify the level of protection that an enclosure provides against the intrusion of solid particles (like dust) and liquids (like water). The higher the IP rating, the more protected the equipment inside will be from environmental hazards.
For example, an outdoor cabinet with an IP65 rating means that it is completely dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes IP-rated cabinets ideal for harsh outdoor environments, where factors like rain, dust, and temperature changes could otherwise damage sensitive electronics.
Some common IP ratings for outdoor cabinets include:
IP55: Protection against limited dust ingress and water spray.
IP65: Full protection against dust and protection from water jets.
IP66: Full protection from dust and powerful water jets.
These ratings ensure that the cabinet is capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions, which is crucial for protecting valuable equipment like servers, switches, and backup systems.
Benefits of Outdoor Racks and IP Rated Cabinets
Weather Resistance: Both outdoor racks and IP-rated outdoor cabinets provide robust protection against rain, snow, wind, and dust. This makes them perfect for use in outdoor environments where weather conditions could harm delicate electronic components.
Security: Many outdoor enclosures are equipped with locking mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access, ensuring that only authorized personnel can reach the equipment inside. This is particularly important for public or remote installations.
Ventilation and Cooling: Outdoor racks and IP-rated cabinets often come with built-in ventilation systems or can be equipped with cooling units to prevent overheating. This ensures that the equipment operates efficiently, even in high-temperature environments.
Durability: The materials used in these enclosures are specifically designed for long-lasting use in outdoor settings, resisting corrosion and physical damage.
Customization: Outdoor racks and cabinets can be tailored to meet the specific needs of different industries. Whether you need specific mounting options, advanced cable management systems, or additional security features, these enclosures can be customized accordingly.
Applications of Outdoor Racks and IP Rated Cabinets
Outdoor racks and IP-rated cabinets are widely used in various industries, including:
Telecommunications: Housing communication equipment like routers, switches, and servers in outdoor setups.
Data Centers: Protecting backup servers or networking equipment in outdoor setups.
Industrial Plants: Securing monitoring and control equipment in outdoor environments.
Smart City Solutions: Enabling the operation of public Wi-Fi networks, surveillance systems, and traffic management equipment.
Energy and Utilities: Housing critical infrastructure for power and water supply monitoring.
Conclusion
Both outdoor racks and IP rated outdoor cabinets provide vital protection for sensitive equipment installed outdoors. Their ability to safeguard electronic devices from environmental hazards like dust, water, and extreme temperatures makes them indispensable in many industries, from telecommunications to data centers and industrial operations. When choosing outdoor enclosures, it’s crucial to consider factors like IP ratings, size, and security features to ensure that your equipment remains safe, secure, and operational in even the harshest conditions.

How Does the Forklift Safety Lights Improve Forklift Safety?
Tumblr media
Warehouses and industrial settings are bustling environments where forklifts are crucial for handling heavy loads. However, the sheer size and weight of these machines pose significant safety risks to workers and pedestrians alike.
Forklift-related accidents (including collisions and injuries) are common in such environments. OSHA records reveal that around 85 fatalities stem from forklift-related incidents annually, with more than 34,000 individuals sustaining severe injuries.
To mitigate these risks, forklift safety systems have become indispensable, with the safety light system being a key component. Today, we will delve into the importance of forklift safety lights and how they contribute to accident prevention and overall safety in warehouses and industrial facilities.
Understanding Forklift Safety Lights
Forklift safety lights are essential components installed on forklifts to enhance safety by improving visibility and alerting pedestrians and other vehicles in the vicinity. The basic types include blue lights and red zone lights. Blue lights, also known as blue spotlights, project a blue spot onto the ground to alert pedestrians of an approaching forklift. Red zone lights create a visual safety zone around the forklift by projecting red beams onto the ground.
Technical Specifications
These lights are typically installed on the overhead guard or other suitable locations on the forklift. Blue spotlights are often positioned at the front and back of the forklift, while red zone lights are mounted on the sides. The installation process involves securely attaching the lights using mounting brackets or adhesive, ensuring they have optimal coverage of the surrounding area.

Role of Safety Lights in Enhancing Visibility
In bustling warehouse environments, visibility challenges abound, with towering racks, tight corners, and bustling activity creating potential blind spots. Safety lights are pivotal in mitigating these challenges, ensuring enhanced visibility and reducing the risk of accidents.
These lights are ultimate champions of accident prevention — check this guide for yourself.
Blue Lights: Alerting Pedestrians and Drivers
Blue lights, commonly referred to as blue spotlights, serve as proactive warning signals, especially in areas prone to blind spots. Positioned strategically on forklifts, these lights project a conspicuous blue spot onto the ground, alerting pedestrians and other drivers about the presence of an approaching forklift. By illuminating blind spots, blue spot lights provide crucial seconds for individuals to adjust their path and avoid potential collisions.
Red Zone Lights: Demarcating Safe Zones
In addition to blue lights, red zone lights play a vital role in demarcating safe zones around forklifts. By projecting red beams onto the ground, these lights create a visible perimeter, indicating areas where pedestrians should maintain a safe distance. Red zone perimeter lights effectively delineate hazardous zones, helping to prevent accidents and promote safer interactions between forklifts and personnel in the warehouse environment.
Preventing Collisions and Accidents
Forklift accidents pose significant risks in warehouse settings, ranging from collisions with pedestrians and other forklifts to impacts with obstacles. Understanding these common types of accidents is crucial for implementing effective safety measures.
Types of Forklift Accidents
Collisions with Pedestrians: Forklifts navigating crowded warehouse aisles can inadvertently collide with pedestrians, leading to serious injuries or fatalities.
Collisions with Other Forklifts: In busy warehouse environments, multiple forklifts operating simultaneously increase the risk of collisions between vehicles.
Collisions with Obstacles: Blind spots and obstructed views can result in collisions with stationary obstacles such as racks, shelves, or equipment.
Check out the guide to learn more about forklift accidents and recommended solutions.
Role of Safety Lights in Accident Prevention
Safety lights serve as proactive warning systems, alerting forklift operators to the presence of objects or individuals in their vicinity. By illuminating blind spots and providing visual cues, safety lights help operators navigate safely and avoid potential collisions.
Alerting System for Near Objects or Individuals
Blue spotlights and red zone warning lights function as early warning signals, notifying forklift operators when they are close to objects or pedestrians. These lights create visible boundaries and safety zones, allowing operators to adjust their course or speed to prevent accidents.
Preventative Measures vs. Reactive Measures
Safety lights represent a preventative measure in accident prevention, actively reducing the likelihood of collisions before they occur. By providing real-time visual cues, safety lights empower operators to take proactive steps to avoid hazards, minimising the need for reactive measures such as emergency braking or evasive manoeuvres.
Legal and Regulatory Considerations
Forklift safety regulations are governed by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) in the United States and similar regulatory bodies worldwide. OSHA standards mandate that employers provide a safe working environment for employees, including proper training and equipment for forklift operations. Safety lights, such as blue spotlights and red zone lights, are considered essential components of forklift safety systems according to OSHA guidelines.
Compliance Benefits of Safety Lights
Installing safety lights on forklifts ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable standards. Compliance not only reduces the risk of accidents and injuries but also demonstrates the commitment of warehouse operators to prioritise employee safety. Moreover, adherence to safety standards can enhance the reputation of the organisation and mitigate legal liabilities.
Potential Legal Implications
Failure to implement adequate safety measures, including the absence of safety lights on forklifts, can have severe legal consequences for warehouse operators. In the event of accidents resulting in injuries or fatalities, operators may face lawsuits, fines, and penalties for negligence or non-compliance with regulatory requirements.
Legal liabilities extend to compensation claims, worker's compensation, and property damage, tarnishing the reputation and financial stability of the organisation. Therefore, proactive implementation of safety measures, including safety lights, is essential to mitigate legal risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Conclusion
We've explored the vital role of forklift safety lights in enhancing visibility, preventing accidents, and ensuring legal compliance. By illuminating blind spots and demarcating safe zones, these lights significantly reduce the risk of collisions and injuries in warehouse environments.

What is PPC Fraud and How to Prevent It?
Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising allows businesses to reach targeted audiences and drive traffic to their website through paid ads on search engines. However, like any online activity, PPC is vulnerable to fraud referred to as PPC fraud.
PPC fraud includes any fraudulent activities or invalid clicks aimed at draining the PPC advertising budget without bringing real value to the advertiser.
There are several common forms of PPC fraud that advertisers should be aware of. One is click fraud which involves repeatedly clicking on PPC ads with no intention to actually engage with the ad or content. The sole purpose is to rack up costs for the advertiser and deplete their PPC budget. Competitors may also indulge in competing click fraud where they deliberately click on a rival company's PPC ads to inflate their costs and exhaust their advertising budget.
Another type of PPC fraud is the use of click-farms which employ large groups of low-paid workers to repeatedly click on PPC ads to artificially generate traffic and clicks. The clicks are invalid and bring no real customers or conversions. Attribution fraud is also used to falsely take credit for conversions that should have been legitimately attributed to other marketing campaigns, not PPC ads agency.
Fraud Type
Description
Click Fraud
Repeated clicks on ads without engagement
Competing Click Fraud
Clicking rival ads to inflate costs
Click-Farm Fraud
Workers paid to repeatedly click on ads
Attribution Fraud
Taking false credit for conversions
Location/Device Fraud
Using bots, VPNs, VMs to fake clicks
Sophisticated fraudsters also use bots, virtual machines and VPNs to fake clicks and conversions. Location and device fraud makes it appear like clicks are coming from valid sources when they are actually generated via bots and scripts.
PPC fraud can have serious detrimental consequences for advertisers and marketers. The most obvious impact is wasted ad expenditure and reduced return on investment from the PPC campaigns. With a chunk of the budget getting used up by invalid clicks, there is less left to acquire real customers. Brands also lose out on potential qualified leads and conversions due to reduced budgets resulting from fraud.
Analytics and performance data get distorted due to the fake and fraudulent activity, preventing advertisers from gauging the true effectiveness of their campaigns. Low-quality scores also result from high levels of irrelevant clicks, further impacting campaign performance and increasing costs. Ultimately, the brand loses audience reach and fails to achieve its customer acquisition goals through google search ad agency.
However, with vigilance and smart preventive techniques, advertisers can tackle PPC fraud effectively.
Here are some best practices to detect fraud and prevent wasted ad spending:
Closely Monitoring Click Patterns and Quality
It is critical to carefully analyze click patterns and behaviors to catch any abnormal or suspicious activity. Unusually large spikes in volume of clicks or sudden surges in clicks should warrant further inspection. The timing of clicks is another signal - even high-performing PPC ads are unlikely to see too much totally random activity at odd hours.
Advertisers should check click sources to identify any repetitive or unusual IP addresses that may point to bots or click farms. Any PPC ads agency provides data and analytics to enable deep inspection of clicks and detect patterns that suggest invalid activity.
Comparing Conversion Rates Over Time
A massive volume of clicks but very few conversions is a red flag for potential click fraud. Advertisers should regularly compare click-through rates and conversion rates over recent periods to identify any inexplicable differences or discrepancies. An upward swing in clicks but steady or declining conversion rates likely means invalid clicks are occurring.
Using Negative Keywords
Negative keywords help filter out irrelevant clicks and impressions from bots, spiders and other automated tools. Any digital marketing agency should strategically use negative keywords like “free”, “work from home”, “money making” and others to target their PPC ads precisely. This improves campaign relevancy by blocking bogus clicks on commonly broad-matched terms.
Blacklisting Suspicious IPs
Once potentially fraudulent IP addresses are identified via click patterns, advertisers can blacklist them to prevent repeat offenses. Major PPC platforms like Google Ads provide an IP exclusion feature to block fraudulent clicks from blacklisted IPs. But care should be taken to ensure valid users are not incorrectly blocked.
Restricting Targeting
Tightly defining target locations, devices, remarketing lists etc. also makes it harder for fraudsters to manipulate PPC campaigns. Avoiding broad match keywords and restricting targeting ensures ads display for only relevant searches by real users. Geotargeting also helps reduce chances of international click fraud.
Leveraging AI and ML
Cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms can efficiently detect click fraud at enormous scale. The automated nature of bots leaves behind patterns that sophisticated AI tools can identify. Any google ads marketing agency should work only with platforms that utilize robust AI capabilities to supplement human analysis.
Partnering with Reputable Ad Networks
Sticking to high-quality ad networks with solid reputations minimizes risk of click fraud. Advertisers should thoroughly vet networks and avoid obscure players promising lots of traffic at low costs - higher risk of click farms and invalid activity. Google, Bing and major social media platforms are safer bets.
Analyzing Landing Page Experience
Analyzing landing page experience provides clues to bots versus real visitors. Bots don’t browse websites naturally. Quickly bounced visits, erratic scroll patterns and lack of interaction are signs of bot activity. Advertisers should study visitor behavior on landing pages to identify shady clicks.
Conclusion In summary, PPC fraud remains an evolving threat to advertisers as fraudsters devise ever-more sophisticated techniques. However, with vigilance, savvy targeting, strategic use of technology, and expert guidance, advertisers can stay on top of new fraud tactics and continue to drive ROI from PPC campaigns.
As digital marketing evolves, any premium PPC ads agency like Consagous Technologies are ideal partners for brands to navigate the complexities of PPC advertising and thwart fraud. How to Choose a Portable CCTV Camera
Tumblr media
If you’re looking for a way to keep tabs on your home without WiFi, consider a portable CCTV camera. These are lightweight and easy to move, making them perfect for renters and people who don’t want to run wires.
Some cameras also come with a built-in rechargeable battery, which means you can use them even when there’s no power source available. They can also be connected to a wireless network for remote viewing.
Video magnifier
A video magnifier is a piece of hardware that records the contents of a screen and then automatically displays it on a different monitor. This is a great solution for people who are blind or have low vision, as it allows them to see what is on the computer in real time, without having to use eyeglasses.
There are many types of video magnifiers available for different needs. Some have the camera, monitor, lighting and stand built into one self-contained unit. Others are portable handheld units that can be used with a computer or television.
Desktop video magnifiers are usually a better option for those who have central vision loss and need the best possible image quality. These devices typically have a large screen and high-quality camera.
Some models have an XY tray that can be moved horizontally and vertically to assist reading longer materials. They also have specialized viewing options like adjustable vertical and horizontal reading lines, a position locator to keep material in the center of the camera view, and split-screen mode for displaying a computer screen and the camera image at the same time.
Monitor
Monitors are used to display the video footage from a portable cctv camera. They can also be used as a test monitor to check that the camera is working properly.
Most monitors have a flange around the front and sides that can be screwed into a flat surface. This contrasts with a rack mount display, which has studs to secure it in place.
Some monitors have a higher refresh rate (more frames per second) and lower response time, which helps to reduce visual artifacts like motion blur. Online communities are split on whether these features improve the viewing experience, but they’re worth a try if you can afford them.
Some monitors also have built-in storage, so you can store videos on the device rather than paying for cloud storage. It’s a great way to save money on your monthly storage bills.
Camera
CCTV cameras can be a great investment for home security. They allow you to check in on your property from anywhere in the world, receive notifications about suspicious activity, and record only when needed.
To get the most out of your camera, you should consider getting a mobile app that can link it to a phone or tablet. This will enable you to access the livestream and automate features such as motion detection and push notifications from your phone.
You should also choose a camera with a high resolution so you can easily identify faces and items. Some models have a wide field of view for more coverage, and others include smart motion detection to tag people, animals, and vehicles.
Power supply
Choosing the right power supply is important for any cctv camera. The wrong power supply can damage the internal components of the camera. It can also cause it to turn on and off repeatedly, or not rotate.
With IP cameras, it is easy to power the camera over the same cable that delivers video/data. This makes installation cleaner and easier for installers, or anyone installing the camera themselves.
Most cameras have an RJ45 connector for data, and a separate 12V DC power connector to connect the power supply. These can be used with a POE switch or ethernet injector, which allow you to send power over the same Ethernet cable that delivers data.
Security camera power supplies are available in a variety of types, including individual adapters for each camera, and a central distribution box that distributes power to multiple cameras. The type of power supply you choose will depend on the application and your security needs.

IP Rated Outdoor Cabinets and Outdoor Racks: The Ultimate Solution for Robust Protection and Storage
When it comes to housing sensitive equipment outdoors, businesses need to consider factors like weather resistance, durability, and security. This is where IP-rated outdoor cabinets and outdoor racks come into play. These solutions provide protection and organization for electronic devices, communication equipment, and other critical hardware exposed to harsh environments.
What is an IP Rating?
The term “IP” stands for Ingress Protection. It is a rating system used to define the level of protection offered by enclosures against dust, moisture, and other external elements. The IP rating consists of two digits:
The first digit indicates the level of protection against solid objects such as dust.
The second digit refers to the protection against liquids, such as water or humidity.
For example, an IP66-rated outdoor cabinet offers complete protection from dust and is resistant to powerful water jets. This makes it suitable for use in environments where dust storms, rain, or washdowns may occur. Choosing the right IP rating is crucial for ensuring the longevity and performance of your equipment.
Benefits of IP-Rated Outdoor Cabinets
Weather Resistance: One of the primary reasons for using IP-rated outdoor cabinets is their ability to withstand extreme weather conditions. Whether your equipment needs to be protected from torrential rain, snow, or high levels of dust, an outdoor cabinet with the appropriate IP rating ensures that your devices remain safe and functional.
Durability: IP-rated outdoor cabinets are typically constructed from robust materials such as stainless steel or powder-coated aluminum, making them resistant to corrosion, rust, and other forms of wear and tear. This guarantees long-lasting protection even in the harshest climates.
Temperature Control: Many outdoor environments experience significant temperature fluctuations. IP-rated cabinets can come equipped with climate control options such as cooling fans, heaters, or ventilation systems, ensuring the internal environment remains stable and preventing equipment from overheating or freezing.
Security: Besides environmental protection, outdoor cabinets also offer enhanced security. They come with lockable doors and tamper-resistant designs, preventing unauthorized access to sensitive equipment.
Outdoor Racks: A Complementary Storage Solution
Outdoor racks provide a structured and organized way to house multiple devices in a single space. Typically used in conjunction with IP-rated cabinets, outdoor racks help in optimizing space and providing easy access to equipment for maintenance. Racks are especially useful in telecommunications, data centers, and industrial applications where numerous components need to be stored in a compact and accessible manner.
Space Optimization: Outdoor racks allow businesses to maximize their available space by organizing multiple devices within a single enclosure. This is especially beneficial for companies managing a large number of routers, switches, servers, or other network equipment.
Ease of Access: By using a rack system, maintenance personnel can easily access individual components without the need to dismantle the entire enclosure. This reduces downtime and makes repairs and upgrades more efficient.
Customizable Solutions: Outdoor racks are highly customizable and can be configured to fit specific equipment dimensions, ventilation requirements, and power needs. This ensures that each piece of hardware is properly supported and protected.
Applications of IP-Rated Cabinets and Outdoor Racks
These solutions are used in various industries, including:
Telecommunications: Outdoor cabinets and racks house equipment for network providers, ensuring continuous communication and data transmission, even in harsh outdoor conditions.
Energy: Solar power stations, wind farms, and other renewable energy sources rely on IP-rated outdoor enclosures to protect sensitive monitoring and control equipment from the elements.
Transportation: In railways, highways, and airports, these cabinets provide secure storage for critical communication and surveillance devices.
Conclusion
IP-rated outdoor cabinets and outdoor racks are indispensable for organizations that require secure, durable, and organized storage for their equipment. These solutions ensure that electronic devices, servers, and other critical hardware remain functional and protected in all types of outdoor environments. By choosing the right IP rating and incorporating well-designed racks, businesses can ensure the longevity and efficiency of their operations.

UCSD storage
A storage server may be a sort of server wont to store and manage digital data and acts as a backup server to store backup data. A storage server are going to be used for storing both small and enormous amount of knowledge over a shared network. Although the necessity for storage is clear , it's not always clear which solution is true for your organization. There are a spread of options available, the foremost prevalent are direct-attached storage (DAS), network-attached storage (NAS) and cargo area networks (SAN). Choosing the proper storage solution are often as personal and individual decision. there's nobody right account everyone. Instead, it's important to specialise in the precise needs and long-term business goals of your organization. Several key criteria to think about include: Read More
1 - Capacity
2 - Performance
3 - Scalability
4 - Availability & reliability
5 - Data protection
6 - IT staff and Resources available
7 - Budgets concern
DAS (Direct Attached Storage):
Direct Attached Storage (DAS) may be a digital memory device that's attached on to a server or PC via cable, meaning that DAS isn't a neighborhood of the storage network. A DAS device could also be an indoor or external hard disc drive like internal disk drive in PC. These disk drives are often protected with different RAID levels, counting on data importance and criticality. For the server, a DAS storage is extremely much almost like its own drive or an drive that has been plugged in.
The main interfaces used for DAS connection include Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA), Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA), eSATA, Small computing system Interface (SCSI), Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), and Fiber Channel.
It is worth mentioning that prime access rate thanks to network absence, capability of storage capacity extension, data security and fault tolerance are a number of advantages of DAS. However, the first benefits of DAS include low cost and ease . Since it doesn't need components of network storage systems like routers, switches and appropriate cabling and connections. the disadvantage of DAS is that it's not accessible by multiple user groups and just one user at a time is allowed.
DAS is that the most elementary level of storage. The storage devices are a part of the host computer or directly connected to one server, during which the workstation must access the server so as to attach to the memory device . On the other side, NAS and SAN are connected to workstation and servers over a network. within the DAS, if the server is down or experiencing problems, users can't store and access data. Surveillance images can't be retrieved or stored. If the organization grows and wishes new servers, storage for every server must be administered separately.
NAS (Network Attached Storage):
NAS may be a sort of file memory device that connects to a network. NAS devices, which usually don't have a keyboard or display, provide Local Area Network (LAN) nodes with file storage through a typical Ethernet connection. In fact, NAS employs an Ethernet connection for sharing files over the network.
Each NAS on the LAN acts as an independent network node which has its own IP address. Since the NAS device has an IP address, it'll be accessible over the network via that IP address. NAS devices are often built with single drive or multiple drives. The latter provides higher capacity and greater data protection.
The existence of multiple computers on the network, may be a candidate for employing a network attached storage (NAS) device. Some NAS servers are just used for backing up and sharing files across the network, while others can do more tasks, like sharing a printer among the networked PCs, acting as a media streamer or maybe a closed-circuit television by supporting IP cameras.
NAS has benefits like good reading and writing performance, good data redundancy and protection options, offering security via encoding , sharing files, backing up data from Windows, Mac, and possibly Linux machines and offering some cloud service for storage and backup.
The application of NAS in homes is storing and serving multimedia files and automatic backup. as an example , many smart TVs use NAS to supply centralized storage. If a NAS device features a server mode, it also can act as an email, multimedia, database or print server for alittle business. In enterprise level, a NAS array are often used as a backup for archiving and recovery. Also, some NAS products can hold enough disks to support RAID for greater data protection.
For those systems that has got to store an outsized amount of videos/images for several days, NAS may be a good option. Network-Attached Storage comprised of both hard disks and management software. NAS serves files over a network. As a result, NAS relieves the server of storage and file serving responsibilities and provides more flexibility in data access, due to its independence.
SAN (Storage Area Network):
A cargo area Network (SAN) may be a secure high-speed data transfer network during which storage devices can access to multiple servers. it's a high-performance storage network that transfers data between servers and storage devices break away local area network. SAN is usually used where larger areas of high-speed storage and fast input-output space is required.
In contrast to DAS or NAS, which are optimized for data sharing at the primary level, the strength of the SAN lies in its ability to maneuver large blocks of knowledge . this is often so important for Band-Width intensive applications like IP/Megapixel camera system recording. It provides block-level storage, meaning that when a number wants to access a memory device , it sends a block-based access request for that memory device . SAN storage devices include disk-based devices like RAID.
SAN implementation which is in two following types, results in consistent and secure data transferring. counting on what type is employed , differing types of cabling, protocols and routing equipment are used.
Fiber channel (FC): Storage and servers are connected through a high-speed network of unified fiber channel switches. this is often used for mission-critical applications where continuous data access is required. Fiber channel provides data retrieval speed quite 5 Gbps.
Internet Small computing system Interface (ISCSI) Protocol: SCSI may be a standard wont to communicate between servers and storage devices. By this infrastructure, the pliability of a low-cost IP network is achieved. In a SAN network, data transferring from one storage to a different is conducted without or with minimal server intervention. SAN provides dynamic failover protection which suggests if a server fails or goes offline for maintenance, network operation continues. Also, additional capacity are often added to SAN as needed . These, are the benefits of SAN. the most disadvantages of SANs are cost and complexity. Because SAN hardware is dear and also building and managing a SAN, require a special skill set.
The distributed architecture of SAN enables it to supply higher level of performance and reliability. SANs provide fast data transfer while reducing latency and server workload.
VSA (Virtual Storage Appliance):
Virtual Storage Appliance (VSA) may be a storage controller which runs on a virtual machine to make a shared storage without the necessity of additional hardware. It presents either file-level or block-level storage to the network.
VSA isn't a connected physical device to any specific hardware. It uses the host system's local disk for storage as a virtual disk or it can access to local physical drives directly. In fact, the VSA creates a virtual memory area almost like networked storage by incorporating direct-attached capacity on each physical host. Small businesses that require redundancy and high availability for shared storage and also large enterprises which transfer data between various arrays, are good usage candidates for the virtual memory appliance.
The differences between NAS, SAN and DAS:
NAS differs from a SAN within the way they distribute storage to other devices, meaning that the most difference between these two, is access protocols. NAS supports data storage under CIFS and NFS protocols (file-level), while access protocols in SAN are ISCSI and Fiber channel (block level).
On the opposite hand, it's going to seem, DAS is quicker than the other storage methods. Since it needs data transferring over the network, while all data transferring are going to be occurred on a fanatical connection between the server and therefore the memory device . However, thanks to high speed connection of fiber channel, in some cases SAN presents faster speed compared to hurry provided by DAS. Also, Since SAN separates storage from the servers and incorporates them during a place where it are often accessed by any application, it provides better flexibility, availability and storage performance compared to DAS for giant organization. So, thanks to the improved storage performance of SAN, organizations won't need additional storage hardware, which saves money, although SAN hardware are often costly. Moreover, separating memory device from the servers, allows computing resources on the servers to perform other tasks not associated with storage.
On the opposite hand, the difference between DAS and Network Attached Storage (NAS) is that a DAS device connects on to a server without a network connection. DAS gives good performance, but there are limitations just like the number of servers which will access thereto . Also DAS storage has got to be almost the server within the same rack. The advantage of NAS over DAS is that it simplifies file sharing among multiple users. the most difference is about how the pc or the server treats a specific storage. If the server's processor is liable for managing the attached storage, it'll be some sort of DAS and if the pc or the server treats the attached storage as another computer, which shares its data through the network, then it's a NAS.  UCSD storage
