My dad claims his dogs got killed by a swamp big foot that I think is called "swamp stalker"

He talks about how he went racoon hunting with his friend, they let out the hunting dogs and they all went howling into the brush. As they waited they heard the dogs get cut off by this roar my dad couldn't identify. The dogs came running back tails tucked between their legs. When some of the dogs didn't return he and his friend went to investigate.

Well the dogs weren't alive sadly.. and the area had weird tracks and thick hair on the brushes.

I only know the story cause we drove through that town and I watched him visibly pale.

Reading your fic makes me think about that often.
