For all the time I've spent working with active directory, which self admittedly isn't so long...about a year or two- I've come to realize- I hate Active Directory xD

Just this week I was doing WDS deployments like a noob does, and changing the computer names manually cuz of a small lil woops I did when making the image (causing me to need to change all names manually) and it turns out I now have to:

Leave the domain.

Reset.

Join the domain and rename the PC at the same time.

Reset

Boot and log into the user's profile.

Shutdown.

Deploy the PC to the work area.

Fun in IT.

Premiación de la Tercera edición del Concurso Nacional del Videojuego MX

Que hay Arataliberses bebés de luz y fiestas navideñas, el día de hoy y después de un largo, laaaargo tiempo extrañándolos, les traigo un evento que me tocó cubrir la semana pasada: la tercera edición del Concurso Nacional del Videojuego MX.

La sede para esta premiación fue en el Auditorio Raúl Baillères del Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM para los cuates), en donde se dieron cita grandes representantes de la industria mexicana del videojuego para premiar a lo mejor de los creativos mexicanos en juegos de la categoría profesional, universitarios y creativos juniors.

Nuestros anfitriones nos dieron una perspectiva de la industria mexicana de videojuegos y como es que esta industria poco a poco va tomando fuerza, y el porqué de la importancia de que sigan existiendo esta clase de concursos y hasta redes académicas dedicadas a estos.

Con los siguientes patrocinadores de lujo: Centro de cultura digital, The competitive intelligence unit, ITAM, Kiteteam, Videogame makers, Autodesk, Dell, Microsoft, Huawei y su HiGame, Alucina, Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial, ProMéxico, Instituto Nacional del Emprendedor, Red Académica VideojuegosMX y la Asociación Mexicana de Videojuegos, y Kiyoshi Tsuru como maestro de ceremonias, se dio paso a la premiación.

La premiación se dividió en las siguientes categorías: niños, adolescentes, universitarios y profesionales; los premios quedaron de la siguiente manera:

Categoría infantil:

Space chip de José Ignacio Sandoval Lira, David Montoya García y Emiliano Rovelo Sosa. Space Chip es una historia en el espacio baja en grasa (buenísimo para la dieta) con pulpos (si hay pulpos hay calidad), agua radiactiva y bolas de energía.

Primer lugar:

Shapes de Fabio Ernesto Gómez Ignoroza. Shapes es una masa irregular que cobra vida en un laboratorio científico. Nuestra misión es unir esta masa librando varias aventuras.

Categoría adolescentes:

The Maze de Mark Slovik. The Maze es un juego de búsqueda e ingenio en un laberinto que no tiene tiempo, en donde se encuentran elementos de todas las épocas, nuestro protagonista Adam debe de escapar de allí.

Primer lugar:

Paper Heart de Jean Carlo Romero Ibáñez. Paper Heart nos pone a jugar, aprender y entender como es que se hace el origami, todo mientras visitamos diferentes mundos y personajes (creo que me encargaré dos copias, no se hacer origami…)

Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Germany has fired its cybersecurity chief over suspected ties to a Russian-owned company.

Arne Schönbohm has been relieved of his duties as president of the German Federal Office for Information Security, Der Spiegel reported.

The controversy came to prominence when Schönbohm's ties to Protelion, a cybersecurity firm previously known as Infotecs, were raised on television by German comedian Jan Böhmermann.

"The Russian company Infotecs, that wants to protect our critical infrastructure from Russian cyber-attacks, works with Russian intelligence services," said Böhmermann during the television segment.

Protelion was founded as Infotecs in the early 1990s by Andrey Chapchaev, a former KGB engineer who was honored by Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Schönbohm was a founding member of a lobbying group dubbed the Cyber Security Council Germany which lists Protelion as one of its members. Cyber Security Council Germany responded to the television spot by terminating Protelion's membership while denying any Russian influence.

"Necessary public trust in the neutrality and impartiality of his leadership as president of the most important German cybersecurity agency has been damaged," said German Interior Ministry spokesperson Nancy Faeser.

Böhmermann did not accuse Schönbohm of maintaining ties to the organization but he reportedly attended Cyber Security Council Germany's 10th anniversary party in September.

Germany faces growing concern that it could be targeted by Russian cyberattacks as it provides military equipment to Ukraine, including spare parts for Ukrainian Migs, anti-tank weapons and combat vehicles. Last week Germany announced that it would be delivering four IRIS-T anti-air systems, which can be used to defend against drone attacks, to Ukraine.
