Okay okay okay. Soooo I just finished the movie
And Omg it was so good Omg. First of all!! The ART it’s so. Pretty. And I love how, even though they changed around and experimented with the art styles, the entire movie was very obviously from that Franchise.
And the CHARACTERS. Hobbie and Patvir!!! My beloveds!! And Mayday (the baby, I think her name was)!!! How Patvir’s entire dimension was a different artstyle! How Hobbie’s artstyle followed him!!
And Miles grew up!! And so did Gwen!! And it was done *so well*! (Also, trans rights. you cannot convince me a single person in this movie was cis. there is literally no way)
Also MIGUEL HOLY SHIT. Way to have beef with a literal sophomore — man can’t even go to the *bathroom* without raising his hand and asking for a pass!!
The scenes were all so beautiful. Every. Single. Fight scene. In the India-Spiderverse was BEAUTIFUL. The scene with Gwen and Miles in the beginning.
And the WRITING OF THE ENDING. I, personally, think they paced it WONDERFULLY
(Sorry for this incomprehensible ramble. The grammar is *everywhere*) (also I’m sorry for the previous anon I got nervous lol)
Edit: whoopsieee forgot to put it under the cut hiii
And yeah even though it wasnt said outloud or officially, I'm entirely on the side that Gwen is meant to be trans. People who brush off the flag and the trans-coded speech she gave to her dad honestly dont realize how queer friendly the movie production was (Like queer artists and allies working on it) and that EVERY LITTLE detail of this movie is planned out purposely. Every little background, trans flags/colors, her speech and the meanings behind it were planned out and well.....I just think the queer interpretation everyones getting was no accident.
I remember when I thought the first movie was peak animation then they just blew it the wway with this one somehow!!! They just keep raising the bar and I'm lovingggg it. All the new character models and backgrounds for different universes look phenomenal<33
LOVED the cliffhanger ending. That shit gave me psychic damage at the end of the film and that's god damn compliment. The hype was so intense and I'm actually sooo glad were getting another movie. Lots of potential for more content and screentime for some characters who's didnt get much this film.. urrrgh!!! cant wait!!! Super glad I got you to watch it, hope it was worth itt<33 :]
#anyyy theories? favorite scenes? extra thoughts? anyonee?#feel free to bother me in dms too i domt mind#weebs asks#astv spoilers#long post

It’s bold of Nolan to make such a thoroughly dense blockbuster. He assumes people will actually want to see ~Lelki ismeretek more than once so they can understand it properly, which some may not. This movie makes the chronology of Inception look as simplistic as tic-tac-toe. Ergo, it’s hard for me to give an accurate rating, without having seen it twice, as I’m still trying to figure out whether everything does indeed make sense. If it does, this movie is easily a 9 or 10. If it doesn’t, it’s a 6. It’s further not helped by the fact that the dialogue in the first 15 minutes of the movie is painfully hard to understand / hear. Either they were behind masks; they were practically mumbling; the sound effects were too loud; or all of the above. The exposition scenes are also waayyy too brief for something this complex — a problem also shared with Interstellar actually. (Interstellar had this minimalist exposition problem explaining Blight, where if you weren’t careful, you’d miss this one sentence / scene in the entire movie explaining that Blight was a viral bacteria: “Earth’s atmosphere is 80% nitrogen, we don’t even breathe nitrogen. Blight does, and as it thrives, our air gets less and less oxygen”). I guess it’s a Nolan quirk. Hopefully, a revision of the film audio sorts the sound mixing out. I do like the soundtrack, but it’s too loud initially. I liked all the actors. You think John Washington can’t act at first, but he can, and he grows on you as the film progresses. And Pattinson is his usual charming self. Elizabeth is a surprise treat. And so on. Its worth a watch either way. See it with subtitles if you can. And definitely don’t expect to fully understand whats going on the first time around. Its one hell of a complicated film. It will be very hard for an average viewer to gather all the information provided by this movie at the first watch. But the more you watch it, more hidden elements will come to light. And when you are able to put these hidden elements together. You will realize that this movie is just a “masterpiece” which takes the legacy of Christopher Nolan Forward If I talk about acting, Then I have to say that Robert Pattinson has really proved himself as a very good actor in these recent years. And I am sure his acting skills will increase with time. His performance is charming and very smooth. Whenever he is on the camera, he steals the focus John David Washington is also fantastic in this movie. His performance is electrifying, I hope to see more from him in the future. Other characters such as Kenneth Branagh, Elizabeth, Himesh Patel, Dimple Kapadia, Clémence Poésy have also done quite well. And I dont think there is a need to talk about Michael Caine Talking about Music, its awesome. I dont think you will miss Hans Zimmer’s score. Ludwig has done a sufficient job. There is no lack of good score in the movie Gotta love the editing and post production which has been put into this movie. I think its fair to say this Nolan film has focused more in its post production. The main problem in the movie is the sound mixing. Plot is already complex and some dialogues are very soft due to the high music score. It makes it harder to realize what is going on in the movie. Other Nolan movies had loud BGM too. But Audio and dialogues weren’t a problem My humble request to everyone is to please let the movie sink in your thoughts. Let your mind grasp all the elements of this movie. I am sure more people will find it better. Even those who think they got the plot. I can bet they are wrong. ~Lelki ismeretek is the long awaited new movie from Christopher Nolan. The movie that’s set to reboot the multiplexes post-Covid. It’s a manic, extremely loud, extremely baffling sci-fi cum spy rollercoaster that will please a lot of Nolan fan-boys but which left me with very mixed views. John David Washington (Denzel’s lad) plays “The Protagonist” — a crack-CIA field operative who is an unstoppable one-man army in the style of Hobbs or Shaw. Recruited into an even more shadowy organisation, he’s on the trail of an international arms dealer, Andrei Sator (Kenneth Branagh in full villain mode). Sator is bullying his estranged wife Kat (Elizabeth Debicki) over custody of their son (and the film unusually has a BBFC warning about “Domestic Abuse”). Our hero jets the world to try to prevent a very particular kind of Armageddon while also keeping the vulnerable and attractive Kat alive. This is cinema at its biggest and boldest. Nolan has taken a cinema ‘splurge’ gun, filled it with money, set it on rapid fire, removed the safety and let rip at the screen. Given that Nolan is famous for doing all of his ‘effects’ for real and ‘in camera’, some of what you see performed is almost unbelievable. You thought crashing a train through rush-hour traffic in “Inception” was crazy? You ain’t seen nothing yet with the airport scene! And for lovers of Chinooks (I must admit I am one and rush out of the house to see one if I hear it coming!) there is positively Chinook-p*rn on offer in the film’s ridiculously huge finale. The ‘inversion’ aspects of the story also lends itself to some fight scenes — one in particular in an airport ‘freeport’ — which are both bizarre to watch and, I imagine, technically extremely challenging to pull off. In this regard John David Washington is an acrobatic and talented stunt performer in his own right, and must have trained for months for this role. Nolan’s crew also certainly racked up their air miles pre-lockdown, since the locations range far and wide across the world. The locations encompassed Denmark, Estonia, India, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, and United States. Hoyte Van Hoytema’s cinematography is lush in introducing these, especially the beautiful Italian coast scenes. Although I did miss the David Arnold strings that would typically introduce these in a Bond movie: it felt like that was missing. The ‘timey-wimey’ aspects of the plot are also intriguing and very cleverly done. There are numerous points at which you think “Oh, that’s a sloppy continuity error” or “Shame the production design team missed that cracked wing mirror”. Then later in the movie, you get at least a dozen “Aha!” moments. Some of them (no spoilers) are jaw-droppingly spectacular. Perhaps the best twist is hidden in the final line of the movie. I only processed it on the way home. And so to the first of my significant gripes with ~Lelki ismeretek. The sound mix in the movie is all over the place. I’d go stronger than that… it’s truly awful (expletive deleted)! Nolan often implements Shakespeare’s trick of having characters in the play provide exposition of the plot to aid comprehension. But unfortunately, all of this exposition dialogue was largely incomprehensible. This was due to: the ear-splitting volume of the sound: 2020 movie audiences are going to be suffering from ‘~Lelki ismeretekis’! (LOL); the dialogue is poorly mixed with the thumping music by Ludwig Göransson (Wot? No Hans Zimmer?); a large proportion of the dialogue was through masks of varying description (#covid-appropriate). Aaron Taylor-Johnson was particularly unintelligible to my ears. Overall, watching this with subtitles at a special showing might be advisable! OK, so I only have a PhD in Physics… but at times I was completely lost as to the intricacies of the plot. It made “Inception” look like “The Tiger Who Came to Tea”. There was an obvious ‘McGuffin’ in “Inception” — — (“These ‘dream levels’… how exactly are they architected??”…. “Don’t worry… they’ll never notice”. And we didn’t!) In “~Lelki ismeretek” there are McGuffins nested in McGuffins. So much of this is casually waved away as “future stuff… you’re not qualified” that it feels vaguely condescending to the audience. At one point Sator says to Kat “You don’t know what’s going on, do you?” and she shakes her head blankly. We’re right with you there luv! There are also gaps in the storyline that jar. The word “~Lelki ismeretek”? What does it mean. Is it just a password? I’m none the wiser. The manic pace of ~Lelki ismeretek and the constant din means that the movie gallops along like a series of disconnected (albeit brilliant) action set pieces. For me, it has none of the emotional heart of the Cobb’s marriage problems from “Inception” or the father/daughter separation of “Interstellar”. In fact, you barely care for anyone in the movie, perhaps with the exception of Kat. It’s a talented cast. As mentioned above, John David Washington is muscular and athletic in the role. It’s a big load for the actor to carry in such a tent-pole movie, given his only significant starring role before was in the excellent BlacKkKlansman. But he carries it off well. A worthy successor to Gerard Butler and Jason Statham for action roles in the next 10 years. This is also a great performance by Robert Pattinson, in his most high-profile film in a long time, playing the vaguely alcoholic and Carré-esque support guy. Pattinson’s Potter co-star Clemence Poésy also pops up — rather more un-glam that usual — as the scientist plot-expositor early in the movie. Nolan’s regular Michael Caine also pops up. although the 87-year old legend is starting to show his age: His speech was obviously affected at the time of filming (though nice try Mr Nolan in trying to disguise that with a mouth full of food!). But in my book, any amount of Caine in a movie is a plus. He also gets to deliver the best killer line in the film about snobbery! However, it’s Kenneth Branagh and Elizabeth Debicki that really stand out. They were both fabulous, especially when they were bouncing off each other in their marital battle royale. So, given this was my most anticipated movie of the year, it’s a bit of a curate’s egg for me. A mixture of being awe-struck at times and slightly disappointed at others. It’s a movie which needs a second watch, so I’m heading back today to give my ear drums another bashing! And this is one where I reserve the right to revisit my rating after that second watch… it’s not likely to go down… but it might go up. (For the full graphical review, check out One Mann’s Movies on t’interweb and Facebook. Thanks.) As this will be non-spoiler, I can’t say too much about the story. However, what I can is this: ~Lelki ismeretek’s story is quite dynamic in the sense that you won’t understand it till it wants you to. So, for the first half, your brain is fighting for hints and pieces to puzzle together the story. It isn’t until halfway through the movie that ~Lelki ismeretek invites you to the fantastic storytelling by Christopher Nolan. Acting is beyond phenomenal, and I’d be genuinely surprised if neither Robert Pattinson nor John David Washington doesn’t receive an Oscar nomination for best actor. It’s also hard not to mention how good Elizabeth Debicki and Aaron Johnson both are. All around, great acting, and the dialogue amps up the quality of the movie. The idea of this movie is damn fascinating, and while there are films that explore time-travelling, there’s never been anything quite like this. It has such a beautiful charm and for the most part, explains everything thoroughly. It feels so much more complex than any form of time-travelling we’ve seen, and no less could’ve been expected from Nolan. Oh my lord, the score for this film fits so perfectly. Every scene that’s meant to feel intense was amped by a hundred because of how good the score was. Let me just say though, none of them will be found iconic, but they fit the story and scenes so well. In the end, I walked out, feeling very satisfied. Nevertheless, I do have issues with the film that I cannot really express without spoiling bits of the story. There are definitely little inconsistencies that I found myself uncovering as the story progressed. However, I only had one issue that I found impacted my enjoyment. That issue was understanding some of the dialogue. No, not in the sense that the movie is too complicated, but more that it was hard to make out was being said at times. It felt like the movie required subtitles, but that probably was because, at a time in the film, there was far too much exposition. Nevertheless, I loved this film, I’ll be watching it at least two more times, and I think most of you in this group will enjoy it. I definitely suggest watching it in theatres if possible, just so you can get that excitement. (4/5) & (8.5/10) for those that care about number scores. At first, I want to ask Christopher Nolan one question, HOW THE HELL YOU DID THIS? Seriously I want to have an answer, How did he write such as this masterpiece! How did he get this complicated, fabulous and creative idea? What is going on in his mind? The story is written and directed perfectly, the narration style was absolutely unique. I have no idea how can anyone direct such as this story, that was a huge challenge, and as usual Nolan gave us a masterpiece that we’ll put beside (Memento), (Inception) and (Interstellar) The movie is so fast-paced in a good way, there was no boring moment. The chemistry between John David Washington and Robert Pattinson was great and funny and both of their performance was really good. Elizabeth Debicki performance was the best in the movie because she had the chance to show her acting abilities and she cached up that chance and showed us an A level acting. The music wasn’t unique and distinct as the music of Interstellar for example and I think this movie needed the touch of Hans Zimmer, I’m not saying that Ludwig Göransson failed but Hans Zimmer in another level. If there was something I’d say that I didn’t like it in the movie would it be that Nolan discarded any set up or characters backgrounds except Elizabeth Debicki dramatic story but it wasn’t that bad for me, I didn’t care about that, the exciting story didn’t give me the chance to focus on it. But the actual problem was the third act, it was really complicated and I got lost and I convinced myself to discard the questions that were in my head and enjoy the well-made action sequences and Elizabeth Debicki performance. I think this kind of movie that gets better with a second and third watch. I honestly don’t quite know where to begin with ~Lelki ismeretek. I love Christopher Nolan’s work but I have never seen a more complicated film (and I understood Memento). ~After nearly three hours, I came away from ~Lelki ismeretek not knowing myself, my mind reduced to nothing more than piles of ash. Was there time travel involved? Hmm, there was definitely something about time inversion. I mean, does Nolan even understand what he wrote? Look, I give credit to the director because he’s one of the few directors left who knows how to create a compelling and intelligent blockbuster. ~Lelki ismeretek is full of Nolan trademarks — the gratuitous Michael Caine cameo, a loud, really loud score, complete with stunning cinematography and slickly inventive action set-pieces. This time around however, Nolan has finally managed to ‘out-Nolan’ himself: the palindromic plot, whilst creatively ambitious, is simply far too complicated for its own good. ~Lelki ismeretek is overlong, overstuffed, pretentious and too exhausting to comprehend in its entirety — it makes Inception and Interstellar look like Peppa Pig by comparison. I’m aware of the technical wizardry and creative mastery in this film and lord knows I’ll have to watch this again. For those who want a puzzle, ~Lelki ismeretek at least provides a unique cinematic experience. But to actually enjoy solving it Nolan wants you to work very very hard.

Movie recommendation: Pirates of the Caribbean - The Bahamas
ENGLISH ×görgess le a magyar verzióért×
It’s an interesting fact that the Bahamas doesn’t actually belong to the area of the Caribbean Sea, although during the 15th and 16th centuries it was referred to as its most important spot. Since some scenes of the Pirates of the Caribbean had been shot on this spectacular island chain, it was obvious for us to put these movies in the spotlight in this post.
The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was the first time Johnny Depp personated captain Jack Sparrow. It was also the first for us to see the tipsy, strange yet lovable pirate who could never stay loyal whenever he chose sides. This character worked the best in this movie mostly because his weird gestures and constant babbling had a refreshing effect on the audience. The main character of the series is the already mentioned rum lover captain lacking a ship but not commitment to get his beloved Black Pearl back from his cursed crew. In order to do that, he teamed up with Will Turner whose only goal was to save Elizabeth Swann, his lover who had been kidnapped by the immortal pirates.
The second movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, came three years later. This time, Jack Sparrow and his mates met the infamous Davy Jones, the captain of the Flying Dutchman and the dreadful kraken coming after the captain because of a blood oath Jack had made with Jones. This movie left mixed feelings in the audience because even though it conducted to the last part of the trilogy, it seemed a bit too complicated considering captain Sparrows actions. Though, regardless of the mentioned mistakes, the scenery of this movie was better than ever and the makers did a great job with the action scenes, so they managed to bring the wanted attention to the final part.
The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End was shot right after the second movie therefore it was seen on the silver screen a year after the previous one’s premier. In the final part, even Captain Barbossa had come back to life in order to rescue Jack Sparrow and fight with the East India Trading Company, the main opponent of the movie. More powerful fight scenes on the sea, more pirate fractions, more sword fights and explosions - that’s how we can describe the At World’s End where the makers tied up some loose ends and left some others be, so everyone could be aware that they were ready to make new adventures located in the Caribbean area.
MAGYAR Filmajánló: A Karib-tenger kalózai

I think we didn’t know what a challenge it would have been. We were prepared but not enough. Comparing my knowledge now of traveling in general and of organizing how I travel, back in the past I didn’t even know anything. But still we did it, I was planning this big trip for at least 1,5 months. It wasn’t today, it was in October 2011, but the sights and cities are the same and you can use my experience for planning your trip there… The program was the following: Szerintem nem tudtuk, mekkora kihívás lesz. A program a következő lett:
Day 0-1: Flying BUDAPEST – LONDON – MUSCAT – DELHI / 0-1. Nap: Repülés BUDAPEST – LONDON – MUSCAT – DELHI
We flew from Budapest to London Luton, we took the bus to London Heathrow and in the evening we flew by Oman Air via Musca to New Delhi arriving on the next day in the afternoon. Arrival: passport & visa control, took around 1 hour (You must obtain the Indian visa before travelling from a consulate/embassy). I don’t think it is difficult to guess how we spent our first day: with sleeping. Our hotel was in Arakashan Road (backpakers’ center). It wasn’t the best hotel but the location was perfect, 5 mins from the railway station.
Day 2: 1st Day in NEW DELHI / 2. nap: Első nap ÚJ DELHI-ben
We took a rickshaw and went to the Qutab Minar, on the way to the Hamuyan’s Tomb we stopped at the Lotus Tempel and at the Connaugh Place and the last stop on this day was Jama Mashid, the biggest Mosque of India. Fogtunk egy rickshaw-t és elmentünk a Qutab Minarhoz, a Hamuyan sírjához vezető úton megálltunk a Lotus Tempel-nél és a Connaugh Place-nél és utolsónak a Jama Mashid-nál, ami India legnagyobb mecsete.
Day 3: The second Day in NEW DELHI / 3. nap: Második nap ÚJ DELHI-ben
We took a rickshaw and went first to see the place where Gandhi was assassinated, Gandhi Smriti. After that we went to the Red Fort in the nearby of the main market, we had lunch & went back to the Hotel. It was enough for us, Delhi wasn’t our favourite one. Too many people, too pushy to get money from us… But we had to see this city too! Ismét rickshaw-al mentünk először Gandhi gyilkosságának helyszínére, a Gandhi Smriti-hez.
Day 4: Visiting the TAJ MAHAL / 4. nap: A TAJ MAHAL meglátogatása
We went to Agra by train and visited one of the 7 wonders of the modern World, the TAJ MAHAL. You can read our story here: AT THE TAJ MAHAL IN INDIA Vonattal mentünk Agra városába és meglátogattuk a modern világ 7 csodájának egyikét, a TAJ MAHAL-t. Itt olvashatjátok a sztorit: A TAJ MAHAL-NÁL INDIÁBAN
Day 5: Going to Jaipur by train / 5. nap: Jaipurba vonattal
We left Delhi in the morning and arrived by train at around 10:00 a.m. in Jaipur. The driver of our hotel waited for us there and took us to the hotel. This was the best hotel during our whole holiday, big room, bathroom, hot water, good food at the restaurant. Our hotel in Jaipur was Suryaa Villa. In the afternoon we took a rickshaw and went to the Galta Tempel (Monkey Tempel), I went up to the tempel, my parents stopped halfway. There were dozens of monkeys, lots of cows, some dogs 🙂 You can read our story here: The Road Full of Rebel Monkeys and Pilgrims in Jaipur, India Reggel indultunk Delhiből vonattal és már 10:00 órakor Jaipurban voltunk.
Day 6: Sightseeing tour in The Pink city – JAIPUR / 6. nap: Városnézés a Rózsaszín városban – JAIPUR
We arranged via the reception the day before to have a rickshaw driver for the whole day. After breakfast we went first to the City Palace. It is amazing, nicely decorated buildings with huge chandeliers. We stayed there for about 1 hour. After that we went to the Royal Gaitor where we could see many cenothaps (Empty tombs). The Lake Palace came and on the way back to the hotel we saw the Hawa MAhal too.
Day 7: Amber Fort on an Elephant – JAIPUR / 7. nap: Amber Fort elefántháton – JAIPUR
The same rickshaw driver took us to the Amber Fort, it took about 40 mins to get there, there was a long long line at the elephants but it didn’t take more than 30 mins to hop on one. We went up to the Fort by this “vehicle”. Amazing fort, beautiful view, exciting decorations on the animals 🙂 Nice finishing of our stay in Jaipur.
Day 8: Flying from Jaipur via Mumbai to Jodhpur / 8. nap: Repülés Jaipurból Mumbai-on keresztül Jodhpur-ba
It was a long day, flying from Jaipur to Mumbai, waiting there for 2 hrs and then 2 hrs more to get to Jodhpur. The rickshaw driver wasn’t really sure whether we were in the right hotel, it was in the middle of the old town, GAnpati Guesthouse. The rooms were nice, the restaurant was nothing to mention, on our first night we went to hotel’s restaurant to have dinner but it took about 1 hr by the time our food had arrived to the table, so we decided to eat somewhere else during our stay.
Day 9: The Blue City – JODHPUR / 9. nap: A kék város – JODHPUR
We began our day at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, this is where the Maharaja of Jodhpur live(d), the furniture of the rooms was so nice, the whole palace had an amazing decoration, we could see many pics of the maharadja’s family too. The next stop was the Mandore Garden, I didn’t like it much, there were some cenothaps too but I don’t think it is worth coming here. And then came the Jaswant Thada, it is a fairytale-like castle in the middle of nowhere, there is a pond next to it and while we were going there and could see the marble white building emerging on the horizon it resembled the Disney cartoons’ castle 🙂 It was terribly hot, so we couldn’t stay long under the sun, we went upstairs, took some pics and then down to go to our next stop to the Mehrangar-Fort. There was exactly then a folklore festival in the Fort with musicians and dancers. We spent there about 2 hours with lunch included, I had an amazing thali (non-vegetarian certainly:), after that we went back to our hotel.
Day 10: Another Blue Day – JODHPUR / 10. nap: Még egy kék nap – JODHPUR
After having breakfast in our favourite restaurant opposite our hotel, we went to discover a bit the old city, clock tower and the blue houses. It didn’t take more than 1 hr, then some shopping and relaxing 🙂 Here in detail: The Blue City – Jodhpur, India Miután megreggeliztünk a szálloda előtti kedvenc éttermünkben, elmentünk egy kicsit felfedezni az Óvárost, az óratornyot és a kék házakat.
Day 11: Bisnoi Village Safari from Jodhpur / 11. nap: Bisnoi Village Safari Jodhpurból
I arranged everything per email in advance 2 weeks earlier, I found this company’s website on the internet. But now I think it was unnecessary, mostly all guesthouses arrange such tours to the same place. We went by jeep to the Bishnoi tempel, where these people had sacrificed their lives for the trees (are they crazy?), then to a pond, after that to the shepherds’ village, carpet makers, we had lunch in a tent-like house, we visited an opium maker and the potters’ village and we had some obligatory shopping (How do they think I can take home from here a f@cking big carpet??) You can read about it here: Bishnoi Village Safari from Jodhpur, India Mindent előre elrendeztem e-mailben 2 héttel korábban, az interneten találtam egy céget. Itt olvashattok erről a kalandról: Bishnoi Szafari Jodhpurból, Indiában
Day 12: Flying to Mumbai / 12. nap: Repülés Mumbaiba
Flying to Mumbai by Air India in the afternoon, I expected the same metropolis feeling like in Delhi. From the plane we even could see the biggest slum in the World, paperhouses, poverty.. The taxi driver took us to our hotel, this was the worst one during our stay (I thought with a name Victoria Hotel it can be only good..), but the location was excellent, in the nearby of the Victoria Terminus.
Day 13: Visiting MUMBAI (BOMBAY) / 13. nap: Látogatás MUMBAI-ban (BOMBAY)
I think in Mumbai 1 day is way enough to see everything. We started it at the Victoria Terminus (awesome), then we took a taxi for the whole day and came the Dhobi Ghat, biggest open-air laundry of the World, then came the Marine Drive with the Chowpatty Beach, some walk there, absolutely dirty. And the TAj Mahal Hotel and Gateway of India. I must say that the weather was so hot and humid, we couldn’t have walked there so it was good we took a taxi. There are big distances, and no rickshaws, strange, only taxis but thousands of them… You can read about Mumbai in detail here: Visiting Bombay (Mumbai) Szerintem Mumbaiban 1 nap bőven elég , hogy mindent megnézzetek.
Day 14: Delayed flight from Mumbai to Varanasi / 14. nap: Repülés késéssel Mumbaiból Varanasiba
We had 2 hrs delay that is why we arrived in the evening to Varanasi We didn’t expect to walk with the luggage in the small streets of Varanasi in the dark about 20 mins long to our hotel… We followed the driver, I was relaxed, but my mum was so frightened and exhausted… if we hadn’t arranged our transfer by the hotel we couldn’t have found our hotel because no taxis or vehicles can come to the Ganges and our hotel of course was on the banks of the Ganges. After the hard beginning the Schindia Guesthouse seemed to be a good choice, our room was facing the Ganges.
Day 15: 1 day in VARANASI, by boat mostly / 15. nap: 1 nap VARANASI-ban, többnyire csónakkal
We stayed only for 1 day so we arranged for the next day at 5:40 a boat tour on the Ganges. We lived next to the Manikata Ghatis the main burning ghat. I couldn’t have chosen a better location for our hotel… From here along the river were we riding the boat. This is where for many the story ends, the bodies are cremated next to the water and the ashes are poured into the water… And people swim in that water! We saw bathing women, praying men, some were washing the bedclothes in the water (yes, I guess our sheets and blankets were washed there too and yours too if you sleep in a hotel in Varanasi, FYI), some just chatting while sitting in the water, cleaning teeth with the water… etc. Amazing, terrible, fantastic… Religion influences everything here… In the evening another boat ride, it took shorter, 1 hour, there were some dancing, some singing on the bank of the Ganges. In the remaining time between the 2 boat trips we were mostly in our room, it was so hot, we were melting when we went out to our balcony. Some monkeys were walking there too 🙂 Unforgettable day!!!! Loved it… A Manikata Ghatis mellett laktunk, ami a fő krematórium. Ennél jobb szállodát nem is választhattam volna… A part mentén hajóztunk. A vallás itt mindent befolyásol…
Day 16-17-18: Flying back to Delhi – From Delhi flying to London – From London back to Budapest / 16-17-18. Nap: Repülés vissza Delhibe – Delhiből repülővel Lodonba – Londonból Budapestre
Thank God there were 2 porters to take our luggage out of the small streets tol the taxi. Early in the morning we were there at the airport and flew to Delhi. The next day we flew back to Europe, back to the civilization. We spent 1 day in London, this is when I took these pictures for this blog post: Like an Illusion: Some Postcardlike Photos of London Hála istennek, 2 csomaghordó jött a hoteltől, hogy kivigyék a poggyászunkat a kis utcákból a taxihoz. Korán reggel ott voltunk a repülőtéren és vissza repültünk Delhibe. Másnap visszatértünk Európába, vissza a civilizációba. Londonban töltöttünk 1 napot, itt láthatjátok az akkor készült képeket: Mint egy illúzió: néhány képeslapszerű fotó Londonról
My overall impression of India is: It seems I like more South-East Asia than India… Here the poverty is such an everyday thing, the dirty streets, the dead people in the streets, diseases everywhere… and some amazing buildings from the very past. It is a huge country, we could just see the most important cities, and there the most important sights, we didn’t get to know the people in India or the whole country. It was a first time experience & it was really like in the fairy tales, but I think it was enough for me of India. You know what they say: ”Better to see something once than hear about it a thousand times” Benyomásaim Indiáról: Jobban szeretem Dél-Kelet-Ázsiát, mint Indiát …

Education in India: A Rebirth
In March 2003, Anil Jethmal watched an episode of the television show “60 Minutes”. That evening, the show featured a man known as “the Bill Gates of India”, Narayan Murthy, founder of the Indian technology firm, Infosys.
In a wide-ranging interview, the interviewer, Leslie Stahl, at one point, asked Murthy about the impressive “brain power” coming out in the form of graduates of IIT, the Indian Institute of Technology. Known by executives in Silicon Valley as perhaps the most competitive in the world in which to gain admission, IIT had actually been Murthy’s son’s first choice. Since his son was denied acceptance to IIT, he went to Cornell instead and, then, continued on to receive a fellowship and his PhD from Harvard.
Interviewer Leslie Stahl was surprised that an Ivy League school was, in effect, Murthy’s son’s “safety school”. While watching, though, Anil Jethmal, was not surprised at all. After all, members of Anil’s own family had been accepted to and attended Harvard, Yale, MIT, Cornell, Brown and Stanford. For some of them, IIT was actually their first choice.
Yet, in the west, most people outside of Silicon Valley have not even heard of IIT. But within Silicon Valley, graduates of IIT are so well regarded that they have standing job offers at US firms. Silicon Valley executives do not even require an interview from them. This is due to the fact that IIT’s vetting process for admission and consistent high quality of graduates has led to fierce hiring competition among those elite US firms. It is hard to argue with the results. Many of today’s most successful CEOs in the US received their education at IIT.
Many in the west wonder what happened that made an Indian institution, all of a sudden, such a gold mine of talent. Anil Jethmal is quick to point out that India, prior to IIT, was home to the world’s best university for 800 years.
Before Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Sorbonne, Cambridge, Oxford, etc. ever existed, the world’s best university was India’s own Nalanda University. Educating the best and the brightest as far east as Turkey, Persia, India, Tibet, China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia…and as far west as Europe, Nalanda was every bit as prestigious as all the Ivy League schools combined are today.
Nalanda taught religion, literature, astronomy, medicine, fine arts, mathematics, politics and much more. Its dormitories housed 10,000 students and 2000 professors. Being accepted to Nalanda, like IIT, was very difficult. One had to pass three rigorous tests in order to even be considered. Until its destruction by foreign invaders in the 12th century, its graduates, like those of ITT, were world leaders in many fields.
And, of course, subsequent to the destruction of Nalanda, from the mid-18th century to the mid-20th century, the British Raj did not allow most Indians to receive an education. In fact, when the British were forced out in 1947, the literacy rate in India was below 17%.
A mere 70 years later, India has become, once again, what it has always been---a country that, because of its focus on investing in education, is home to many of the best and brightest in the world.

Team India may head to Australia without apparel partner | Cricket News
MUMBAI: The Indian team, it appears, has been left with no choice but to travel to Australia without an apparel sponsor. With Nike’s Team India contract ending last month and no company coming forward with a bid when the BCCI floated a tender last month, time is short for the cricket board to get a replacement within the next three weeks. The BCCI had, anyway, been looking to do away with the tender process to bring in the new apparel rights partner and, instead, was in discussion to invite potential bidders to come, sit across the table and “discuss”. However, with time running short to find an apparel sponsor within the next couple of weeks, before the team flies to Australia – immediately after the IPL – the cricket board appears to be making up its mind on not issuing a fresh Invitation-To-Tender (ITT). BCCI had last floated a tender for apparel rights in August with bids to be submitted on September 1. However, none of the parties that had shown interest by picking the bid document – sports kit-manufacturing giants Adidas & Puma included – came to the bidding table.
Those in the know say instead of an ITT, the Board was contemplating floating an ITN – Invitation to Negotiate – following which, it expects to sit “face-to-face” with interested parties and work it out. While there is interest to pick up these rights, understandably at a relatively cheaper price given the Covid-hit market, industry executives point out to “other issues” the BCCI needs to sort out if the ITN must work out well for all parties concerned. A) BCCI needs to take merchandise and licensing seriously. B) They haven’t really drawn any plans on how they intend to create this right space into revenue verticals. C) There are no plans to counter the fake merchandise, which is a serious concern. D) “There seems to be no marketing plan around supporting the people investing in these rights,” say those tracking developments. Nike’s 15-year-long association with BCCI came to an end this September and the US-based sports kit manufacturing giant did not show interest in continuing any further. Those in the know say, “There are interested parties. Maybe not at the same value, which is understandable, but their primary question is what further value can they draw from their investments?” When the tender was last floated, Adidas and Puma, alongside Dream11’s parent company Sporta Technologies Ltd, Disney – which is big in apparel sponsorships in US markets, ITW Consulting (for MyCircle11) and Universal SportsBiz – the parent company of apparel brand Wrogn, had picked up the tender documents. The base price in the tender had been scaled down by 31% to Rs 61 lac per game as compared to Rs 88 lac per game that Nike was paying the BCCI in the previous contract along with a separate minimum guarantee of Rs six crore per year.

Artist's Statement: 'Alma Alma' has a somnolent quality which fits well with the lyrics about a swaying, sleepy apple. But I knew I didn't want to illustrate this piece in a literal way using representations of actual apples. Instead,I started with memories from my childhood when many of my daylight hours were spent entertaining myself alone in the woods. I recalled how much of that time was organized around quietly and deeply looking at the details around me. One memory I have is of being fascinated by red-orange spheres that would seem to grow on tree trunks I often visited. I had no idea what they were called, but because of this memory I did some research and learned that it was sometimes called Wolf's Milk. It turned out to be a type of slime mold. That became the centerpiece for the work.

Triple Talaq and the Shayara Bano Case
This article is written by Diganth Raj Sehgal, Student, School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore. The author in this article has discussed the concept of Triple talaq and the validity of the judgment regarding the same.
Introduction
Triple talaq is the practice under which a Muslim man can divorce his wife by uttering “talaq” three times. It is commonly seen among India’s Muslim community, majority of whom follow the Hanafi Islamic School of thought. This mode of divorce is not universal among Muslims across the globe, as many other Islamic schools of thought prefer the divorce to be deferred, in many cases over a period of three months.
With the advent of technology, the concept of triple talaq became easier to execute. There were several cases reported about husbands sending messages or voice notes or even pictures over snapchat to utter talaq and divorce their wives. Before the Shayara Bano judgment, several cases were brought before the courts to solve this matter. The right of such a divorce was without any reasonable grounds and was vested only with the husband which made the wives silent victims. Thus on these ground, the constitutionality of such a practice in India was challenged.
The judgment in Shayara Bano vs Union Of India And Ors., on contrary to common belief, does not change the legal position of Instant Triple Talaq that existed before, but rather creates confusion on the constitutional status of personal law, and misses a great opportunity to elaborate on the constitutional vision of justice for women from minority religious groups. The Supreme Court’s judgment in the present case has been described by many commentators as the Court declaring the practice of instant triple talaq that is talaq-i-biddat (or divorce, hereinafter ITT) to be “unconstitutional”.
Such a description of the judgment is incorrect. The judgment is made up of three separate opinions: one by Chief Justice Jagdish S Khehar and Justice S Abdul Nazeer; one by Justice Kurian Thomas; and one by Justices Rohinton F Nariman and Uday U Lalit. The three opinions concur on some issues and differ on others. This makes the task of figuring out the judgment’s exact holding a difficult and confusing exercise. Carefully tracing the convergences and divergences leads one to conclude that the majority faulted ITT and “set it aside” not because it was found to be unconstitutional, but rather on the grounds that it was un-Islamic. What is more, even with a five-judge bench decision, the constitutional status of personal law remains as uncertain as before, which makes the prospects of any future attempt to change discriminatory personal law provisions by challenging their constitutional validity, difficult.
Background
To go over the facts briefly, Shayara Bano, a woman survivor of domestic violence and dowry harassment had been unilaterally divorced through ITT. She filed a petition before the Supreme Court seeking a declaration that the practices of ITT, polygamy, and Nikah Halala in Muslim personal law were illegal, unconstitutional, and in violation of Articles 14 (equality before law), 15 (non-discrimination), 21 (right to life with dignity) and 25 (right to freedom of conscience and religion) of the Indian Constitution. The Court however chose to examine the issue of ITT alone.
The Union of India supported the petition. Among the others who intervened in this case, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind argued that the Court did not have jurisdiction to entertain a constitutional challenge to Muslim personal law and that the matter was in the domain of the legislature. The Bebaak Collective and the Centre for Study of Society and Secularism were the two organisations working with Muslim women which supported the petition and urged the Court to declare that personal law was subject to the Fundamental Rights.
Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan and Majlis, other women’s rights organisations – argued that in view of previous decisions of the Court, the bench need not consider the question of the constitutional validity of ITT, but should rather emphasise the existing legal remedies.
As has been pointed out by many commentators throughout the course of this case, ITT lacked legal validity even before this petition was filed, though it had not been declared “unconstitutional” by any court. Since the 1980s, a number of high courts had held that for talaq to be valid, it must be pronounced for a reasonable cause, and must be preceded by attempts at reconciliation facilitated by mediators representing both parties. On this view, though widely invoked by husbands and authorised by the clerics, ITT was already illegal.
Click above
The issue goes back to a 1951 Bombay High Court judgment in the case, State of Bombay v Narasu Appa Mali (1952), where a two-judge bench had held that personal law was not covered by the phrase “laws in force” used by the Constitution in Article 13 to denote all those pre-constitutional enactments which were “in force” at the time of adopting the Constitution, and which were subject to the Fundamental Rights. The two judges held that this was because the source of personal law was a religion rather than the state. The foundations of this judgment have been criticised by eminent legal scholars like H.M. Seervai (2015) and A M Bhattacharjee (2016). Several high court benches have also called for its reconsideration. The Supreme Court affirmed it in the 1980 judgment Sri Krishna Singh v. Mathura Ahir (1980), then implicitly overturned it in the 1996 judgment C Masilamani Mudaliar and Others v. The Idol of Swaminathaswaminathaswami Thirukoil (1997) and then upheld it again in the 1997 judgment Ahmedabad Women’s Action Group v. Union of India (1997). Thus, Shayara Bano’s case was important not just for how the Court decided her immediate claims, but also because it offered an opportunity for a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court to clarify the constitutional status of personal law.
Religious backing of Triple Talaq
The two two-judge opinions in the Shayara Bano case take diametrically opposite approaches to the question of constitutionality. Justice Khehar’s opinion to which Justice Nazeer joins, takes the view that those parts of Muslim personal law on which the state has enacted a law, such as the Dissolution of Muslim Marriage Act, 1939 or the Muslim Women’s (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986 – can be tested for compliance with the Fundamental Rights, but those parts that were uncodified cannot be. He bases this on the view that the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act, 1937, which provided that Shariat was the only law applicable to the Muslims and not customary law, had a limited purpose. That limited purpose, according to Khehar, was to only state that customary law was not applicable to the Muslims in matters of marriage, divorce, inheritance, and so on. The 1937 Act did not automatically bring the uncodified part of Muslim personal law within the state’s jurisdiction, and as a result, it did not come within the phrase “laws in force” in Article 13 of the Constitution.
Thus, Khehar affirms Narasu judgment. Although the Union of India had urged that the judgment should be reconsidered, Khehar refrains from doing so, stating that the bench cannot do this as it had been upheld earlier by Supreme Court benches of the same strength. This is incorrect, as both the instances where Narasu was upheld were two-judge benches. Khehar further immunised Muslim personal law from constitutional challenge by holding that it is protected as a matter of religious freedom under Article 25.
Specifically, on ITT, the judge holds that it had been practised by the Sunni community for centuries, which made it part of their religious faith and was protected from interference by the Court. Curiously, in framing the issue thus, he gives up his earlier distinction between codified and uncodified laws and goes on to hold the entire category of personal law to be immune from constitutional challenge. He concludes that only the state can bring changes in the domain of personal law through legislation within permissible limits of Article 25 and trump the interest of religious freedom. Justices Khehar and Nazeer, therefore, deny the petition and direct the state to legislate on the issue within six months.
The arbitrariness of Triple Talaq
Justices Nariman’s opinion with which Justice Lalit concurs goes in the opposite direction. Nariman takes the view that the function performed by the 1937 Act was not only to abrogate the application of customary law to Muslims. It also performed a positive function, in that it also provided what was the applicable law. The entity “Muslim personal law” according to on this view, was brought into existence by the state in exercise of its civil authority, which brought it squarely within the phrase “laws in force” in Article 13. Thus, according to Nariman, even uncodified Muslim personal law can be tested for compliance with the Fundamental Rights. The judge contradicts the rationale on which Narasu was based. Further, he sets aside an earlier two-judge bench decision of the Supreme Court that had relied on Narasu. But curiously, having rejected Narasu in both substance and application, he notes that the question of whether Narasu is still valid law should be examined in a “suitable case”.
The centrepiece of Justice Nariman’s opinion is the position that what is “manifestly arbitrary” is also unreasonable and can be struck down under Article 14, which is concerned with equality before the law and equal protection of the laws. Justice Nariman notes that ITT is an “irregular or heretical form of talaq” since though lawful, it is considered to be incurring the wrath of God. For him, the arbitrariness of IIT, when seen through the lens of constitutional reasoning, its arbitrariness is thrown into sharper focus. The judge concludes:
“…it is clear that this form of Talaq is manifestly arbitrary in the sense that the marital tie can be broken capriciously and whimsically by a Muslim man without any attempt at reconciliation so as to save it.” (Shayara Bano v Union of India 2017: para 57)
Thus, in Nariman’s analysis, the religion-based finding that ITT was irregular and sinful, coincided with the constitutional reasoning-based finding that ITT was manifestly arbitrary. Justices Nariman and Lalit, therefore, struck down the 1937 Act, to the extent that it recognised ITT.
Is Triple Talaq Un-Islamic?
Justice Joseph does not fully join either of the above positions but follows a different path. On the question of the nature of the 1937 Act, he agrees with Justice Khehar and disagrees with Justice Nariman. Thus, though he agrees with Justice Nariman’s view of arbitrariness as an appropriate test for Article 14, he holds that the 1937 Act cannot be subjected to it. But he disagrees with Justice Khehar too. Justice Khehar held against determining the validity of ITT by referring to the Hadiths, as he felt that it was beyond the judicial role and expertise. Justice Joseph, on the other hand, is of the opinion that the 1937 Act, having declared Shariat to be the law applicable to Muslims, had essentially left it to the judges to find out what the Shariat said on an issue. Therefore, leaving the question of constitutionality aside, what he pursues in his opinion is:
“…whether what is Quranically wrong can be legally right …. the simple question that needs to be answered in this case is only whether triple talaq has any legal sanctity.” (Shayara Bano v Union of India 2017: para 1)
His reading of the relevant verses leads him to conclude that;
“an attempt for reconciliation and if it succeeds, then revocation are the Quranic essential steps before talaq attains finality” (Shayara Bano v Union of India 2017: para 10).
This was the view adopted by a number of high courts since the 1980s and this was endorsed by the Supreme Court in Shamim Ara v State of UP in 2002. Further, between 2002 and 2017, a number of high court benches had relied on the Shamim Ara case and invalidated ITT. Thus, Justice Joseph disagrees with Justice Khehar on two more points: one, that Shamim Ara dealt with the valid procedure for talaq in general, but did not contain a rule on ITT and two, that ITT was integral to the religious faith of the Muslims.
On the first, he notes that Shamim Ara had effectively invalidated ITT, though it did not say it in so many words. On the second issue, he notes that since the purpose of the 1937 Act was to abolish customs that were contrary to Shariat and ITT was contrary to the Quranic tenets, it was abolished by the 1937 Act. Hence, it could not be said to be an integral part of the Muslim faith and could not be immunised by resorting to Article 25. Here, he again disagrees with Justice Nariman, who held that the 1937 Act authorised ITT. Justice Joseph reiterates that the Shamim Ara judgment be upheld and finds ITT to be lacking legal validity, concluding,
“What is held to be bad in the Holy Quran cannot be good in Shariat and, in that sense, what is bad in theology is bad in law as well.” (Shayara Bano v Union of India 2017: para 26)
Conclusion
Having laid out the differences in the three opinions above, we find very few points on which a clear majority position emerges. Even when the judges agree on the outcome, they do so for different reasons. Justices Nariman and Lalit find ITT to be un-Islamic and unconstitutional. Justice Joseph does not go into the question of constitutionality but finds IIT to be un-Islamic and hence, invalid. Thus, by no means can it be concluded that in Shayara Bano case, the Court has declared ITT to be unconstitutional.
On the issue of the constitutional status of personal law, we find an utterly confusing judgment. Two judges hold at one point that uncodified personal law is beyond the scope of the Fundamental Rights, but following rather dubious logic, hold at a later point that the entire domain of personal law is protected as a matter of religious freedom, and they affirm Narasu. Two other judges hold personal law to be subject to the Fundamental Rights, but they do not explicitly set aside Narasu. One judge rejects the proposition that uncodified Muslim personal law can be tested against Fundamental Rights, rejects that it is protected by religious freedom, acknowledges the ghost of Narasu, but avoids the issue altogether. Arguably, Justice Joseph’s approach to the problem shows that it could have been tackled even without a constitutional challenge. But since the petitioners had raised the issue of constitutionality, the judges could have addressed the issue more thoughtfully.
In the final analysis, the judgment in Shayara Bano does not change the legal position of ITT that existed before, but creates confusion on the constitutional status of personal law and misses a great opportunity to elaborate on the constitutional vision of justice for women from minority religious groups.

The All Conquering Triathlete
Siddhant Chauhan, 36 yrs, working as Deputy General Manager - Corporate Communications and CSR with Nissan Motors India. He is also an Ironman Certified Triathlon Coach (completed last year) and Assistant Coach with Yoska under Deepak Raj. He recently completed the Cetlman – Extreme Scottish Triathlon is considered to be one of the toughest triathlons in the world which have seen only 1200 participants from across the world since its inception in 2012.
Triathlons completed so far Ironman 70.3 Bintan 2016, Ironman Nice 2017. Super Randonneour for the 2016-17 season.
Being a triathlete isn't a decision that many people make, how did you decide to become one?
You are right. It wasn’t an overnight decision. I got introduced to the concept of triathlon at a time when I wasn’t pursuing any of the three disciplines required. On the contrary, my lifestyle was quite sedentary. I hated long distance running and when you stack it towards the end of a triathlon, it was definitely not the most attractive proposition. So I first began by getting comfortable with running and eventually cycling. And one thing led to the other.
At what stage of your journey are you as a triathlete?
In 2014 when I was working for Reckitt Benckiser India, then CEO Nitish Kapoor threw a challenge of running a half marathon and raising funds for our charity partner. I guess once I was able to successfully finish a half marathon, it gave me a confidence that I can take a shot at doing a triathlon. However, it was a step by step process and as you rightly said, it did not happen overnight.
What is your advice to anyone who wants to take up an endurance sport?
I am an amateur in endurance events, but with whatever limited experience I have, my advice will be:
Have a goal and chalk out a roadmap to achieve that
Invest in a good coach for a structured training
Building mental toughness is as important as physical endurance
Focus on nutrition and recovery
And of course, compete with yourself first to become better at it
It takes a lot of mental strength to reach the finish line, how do you motivate yourself to keep going?
Absolutely! With a regular job and family, it is tough to dedicate hours towards training day after day. It is fairly easy to get off the track, but you need to keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. It has to be for your own self instead of any other ulterior motive. You practice this through your training blocks and on race day, you give your 100%.
The day before the big race, how do you prepare yourself?
It is not just about the day before your race, one has to get into the mould through the week building up to race day. I run the simulation of this build up during my training blocks and it has helped me. On the day before, I try to keep myself as relaxed as I possibly can and get a good sleep. I keep a close watch on what I eat and it is an important part of feeling good on the race day. On the lighter note, the intensity of the peak week can often make the race day feel like a cakewalk.
Earlier this year you conquered the Celtman, how was the experience?
Once in a lifetime experience – the intensity of this extreme triathlon cannot be comprehended by the race video or report. The course is tough and the weather is harsh.
To give you a quick view of what it entails:
SWIM - 3.4K in cold (11 degrees), deep and jellyfish infested Atlantic waters
BIKE - 202K through cold, rain and winds through Scottish Highland roads
RUN - 42K over the Beinn Eighe mountain range (trail)
From swimming in 11 degrees lake infested with jellyfish and riding in rain and cold winds to running across a brutal trail, there is no one part of the race which is easier than the other. It was quite a challenge for me as I trained for the event in conditions which were exactly opposite to what the race offered.
Watch a short video of the race - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaniAKBzoRg
Do you follow a specific or special diet and nutrition plan?
Yes, I follow certain guidelines for my diet during training. And of course, nutrition I believe is the 4thpillar of triathlon – extremely important to fuel your body right to take you through the gruelling day in the field
Do you have a particular race that is at the top of your wish list?
Yes, Norseman and Swissman extreme triathlons are on my wishlist.
Who is your role model who inspires you to keep aiming higher?
If you look around, there are enough and more role models who inspire you to keep moving despite challenges in life. But if you ask me for one, it has always been Michael Jordan since my childhood days. But particularly in the sport of triathlon, there are so many pros who perform at unimaginable levels and it is always inspiring.
What is next on your agenda of races?
For 2019, my focus is to improve my timing for a full marathon, aim for the races in my wish list and aim for ITT nationals.

The Nizamuddin Markaz
“Do not contribute to your destruction with your own hands, but do good, for God loves those who do good.” ……….Surat Al- Baqarah, Verse 195
The Tablighi Jamaat has done the Great Damage to the cause of Indian Muslims at this critical juncture. I feel that a big damage has already been done also to the fight against the Coronavirus Curse by the careless and negligent act of organizers of Tablighi Jamaat. Granted that the BJP had hastily imposed its rule in Madhya Pradesh and used crowds to enact that; it delayed the Parliament session to manipulate the vulnerable Congress MLAs; it's CM in UP kept on preparations for Ayodhya Fair and Ram Mandir; its CM of Karnataka was seen on TV attending the grandeur wedding and its new Dal Badlu Maharaj attended the gatherings in his welcome to BJP fold - all in contravention to the safety principles of Pandemic Prevention and control. The Saffron Brigade committed several other blunders that might have helped to spread of disease. But it makes no excuse for what has happened in Nizamuddin Markaz. The organizers there should have kept the premises out of reach for visiting new-recruits. The volunteers should have themselves moved in droves to the Nizamuddin Police station for help, for their safe movement, which was next to their premises. The country could have seen their efforts. The idiotic display of irresponsibility and ignorance rather recalcitrance by neo-Mullas have tarnished the image of Islam and destroyed all the good hard work that was done by Shaheen Bagh ladies.
The Tablighi Jamaat is a unique movement in the history of Islam. It is ironic that it has got itself accepted around the Islamic world with the exception of Shia pockets.
It was founded in 1927 by one Muhammad Ilyas al-Kandhalawi of Mewat (now in Haryana, India). This religious outfit was began among the Meo peasants in educationally and economically backward Mewat. The Meo Muslims used to follow several Hindu traditions in past. They used to make 'pheras' during marriage, they believed in the gotra system, and celebrated Holi the same way as they celebrated Eid. The birth of Tablighi Jamaat is said to be motivated by a desire among some puritan Muslims to ensure that non-Muslim movements did not succeed in converting Muslims to deviant ideologies. Tablighi Jamaat is an offshoot of the Deobandi movement. Since its inception, it has expanded from a local to a national to an international movement. It has become "one of the most influential religious movements in 20th century.
I didn’t know anything about them till Iv reached AMU Aligarh in late 1960's. In my fresher days at hostel, on every Sunday, we would have a knock at our door and a group of young students would visit us and ask us to accompany them. Few of them were to be from our hostel also. They would greet us wholeheartedly, and preach us about the virtues of Islam and how our evil deeds had corrupted our lives. And In order to cleanse the soiled spirits, we should join them at Zohar prayers in Hall's mosque, and listen to what some speakers have had to say about our enlightenment. A very senior hosteler who loved to sleep in that time of day was so irritated of their weekly visitations that one day he decided to teach them a lesson. As the time of knock was nearing, he removed all his clothes and appeared them stark naked when he opened the door for them. They did never dare to come back to his room again.
These people are zealots who don’t believe in conversion but want the Muslims to bring a revival of faith that these Jamaati prescribe - of their tenets.
I’ve seen the very smart and intelligent students and teachers perverting to become the super fundamentalists once they entered into the fold of this movement. This institution has no constitution, no formal registration and no election, which obviously means that no one knows who gets in or out of it.
It has been accepted by most people as a religious proselytizing organization with no direct contribution to terror. However, what has been observed is that some people who were part of it have ended up in radical formations.
It is an established fact that deep immersion in any religion, not only just Islam, can lead to radicalization. Since long, this organization had spread its tentacles in AMU Aligarh and Jamia Millia Islami and other Muslims Educational Institutions where the students are tempted to work hard for reward-after-death instead of concentrating upon their academic duties. Itt has hampered the progressive ideology of Muslims. Like the RSS for Hinduism, the Tablighi Jamaat is the theoretical brain wash-workshop of Muslims.
The Tablighi Jamaat wants us to replicate the way Muslims lived in the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Tablighi Jamaat claims to be totally apolitical. But the best part is that no one knows how much money comes to its coffers and from where, if at all it does. Tablighi Jamaat says people donate whatever they want to but the figures are never huge. It is generally believed that Tablighi Jamaat doesn’t need to raise funds. Everyone has to pay for his or her own expenses. Jamaat asks you to spend your time and money only.
In 1978, the 'World Muslim League', a Saudi sponsored body, had subsidized the building of the Tablighi mosque in Dewsbury, England, which has since become the headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat in all of Europe."
Interestingly, the Islamic scholar Akhtarul Wasey has once said, “I always tell my students that when you meet a Life Insurance Corporation agent or a Tablighi Jamaat member, both will begin their conversation with the same line—start thinking about what will happen after you die."
And today, death is looking straight into our eyes. Thanks Nizamudin Markaz! Thanks Tablighi Jamaat!

For Prime Asia TV Canada:- Request Pannu Ji to speak Gospel Truth as exp... For Prime Asia TV Canada:- Request Pannu Ji to speak Gospel Truth as expected of the Gianis. The Five were beheaded on the stage and not taken into the Tent as a Thief will do. So, once you have been beheaded and given the common surname “Singh”, you do not use caste-like Jatt, Khatri, Tarkhan, etc. So, this surname "Singh" is not that cheap as satanic Khatris have made it. No woman was given Amrit and only tribal sons of Shiv were given Amrit. Mai Bhago wasn't baptised. Only Bandei Khalsas, the super donkeys that live in the family homes. Khalsas are the Fauj of Akal Purakh and they seek not the secular rule but the spiritual rule of philanthropy. Thus, the hired Fauji Brars who wanted money, they were refused the Baptism. Thus, A True or TATT Khalsa has nothing to do with the secular world as he gave his head for Akal Purakh. No woman was baptised by Sachae Patshah Gobind Singh Ji but recently a Tarkhan or Lohar calling he Satguru Ram Singh did start baptising women as if they have been kept backwards. When Real or TATT Khalsa was initiated, all the five were beheaded on the stage and not taken to a tent. A thief does that. In India, there is hardly a Sikh to be found and those fanatics of hair and turban were killed during the riots. Not a single Sikh died because a Sikh being a student is a spiritual self that is never born and never died. Prime Asia TV Canada Pannu Ji, Speak that makes sense. Do not vomit out what others say. Do you know that Sikhi is Second Panth whilst Khalsa is the Third Panth? You have great basic knowledge that we all admire but use your tongue to speak TATT Truth. Sikhan dae Bhra hunde hann attae putt nahi hunde. Sikh Parbrahm dae Puttar hunn. Do you know the difference between Brahm and Parbrahm? Brahm is the Kachee itt attae Parbrahm hae Pakki itt. Kichi itt binnah pakki itt nahi bann skdee; ais laee jinah chir tusi apnne kacche sareer dae peo dae nahi bande Bhav keh Brahm kae Baette nahi bunnde ohnah chir tusi Parbrahm dae Puttar nahi bunn skde. Or unless you are born of water, Semen, your natural tribal father, you cannot be born of our Supernatural Father Par Brahm. Apne disde peo dae puttar tan bannde nahi tan pakkae peo dae puttar kiwan? Kache peo dee tan Surtti nahi; pakke dee kiwaa? Brahm kae baette shabd pahshhaatta. Listen to my over 6100 Youtube videos for clarity. I want to join hands with you to expose Khatri Shaitan who were number one enemy of Sikhs and Khalsas. Remember that who led the attack on Sachae Patshah Gobind Singh Ji? A Khwaja Khatri? Help me dig out the Gospel Truth how the sons one Satguru hated the next Successor? Some Successor was kicked but under Bhagti Marag, you cannot hate any. So, please speak sensibly. Do you know how many Sikhs died during the 1947 or 1984 riots? Let us see who can give the correct answer. he Jeep safaris are always full of adventures anywhere I try it (except for the one in Bulgaria, Sunny beach, that was so boring I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone). You either drive the jeeps or the organizers have in each car a driver and you just sit there (for security reasons, the roads might be too difficult to drive on).
The first time I went on a Jeep safari was during my first season in Crete. We went to the East and to the West too.

The safari in Egypt was rather a desert safari, I wrote about it here / Az egyiptomi inkább sivatagi szafari volt, itt írtam róla: Sahara Experience in Egypt / Szahara-élmény Egyiptomban
I didn’t go to the one in Rhodos, because I didn’t like the island and didn’t think it would be interesting at all (based on the opinions of my colleagues who did it, I was right).
In India we went to see the bishnoi villages, that was very intresting and different from the usual ones. (here I wrote about it).
The Jeep safari in Mallorca was really great. A mallorcai Jeep szafari nagyon jó volt,
but one of the best one was in Fuerteventura. You wouldn’t think it, right? I liked it so much I went there 3 times… Who has heard about Fuerteventura? I didn’t have any idea where it was until I went to work there. It is one of the Canary islands, I wrote a blog post about it here: Fuerteventura, Canary islands de az egyik legjobban Fuerteventurán volt részem.
I participated in a monster buggy tour, which is similar to the jeep safaris – meaning you get dirty – Részt vettem egy buggy túrán, ami hasonlít a dzsip szafarikhoz – azt jelenti piszkosak lesztek -,
and I went on a classic tour with big jeeps. During the jeep safari we went to the South of the island. The landscape here was the perfect scene for the Exodus with Christian Bale. I saw him when he was filming it in Fuerte in 2013, he just passed by me in my hotel. So did I see Ben Kingsley, with whom I have a picture too 🙂 He just came to the reception in an evening with his assistant who asked me about something while I was standing at the reception too (of course just ’accidently’ standing exactly there at the very same time…na sure, I was watching them from the moment they appeared…). I was wearing my uniform so they thought I was working for the reception. I told her to ask rather the desk BUT I asked her if I could take a picture with him. A dzsip szafari során a sziget déli részére mentünk.
Nah anyway, back to the jeep safari, here is what we could see: Black volcanic soil, kilometer long white sandy beaches, lookout points, paella at a restaurant at the sea and an abandoned cemetery. Na tehát térjünk vissza a dzsip szafarihoz, itt megnézhetitek mit láttam: Fekete vulkánikus talaj, kilométer hosszú fehér homokos strandok, kilátópontok, paella egy tengerparti étteremben és egy elhagyatott temető.
