Headcanon: Hubert Realizing He Loves You Would Be Like...
Request: None
Word Count: 517
Hubert had never really thought about dating or getting married. He thought he would be devoted to one person and one person only: Edlegard. However, when he met you, everything changed.
He first noticed how his eyes drift to you when you are around him. He also finds himself searching for you in crowds. Hubert scolds himself for losing focus but finds he can't stop himself from ensuring you are unharmed after a battle.
Edelgard would notice a change in Hubert immediately. At first, she would tease him about his crush on you. Hubert would deny his feelings for you and try to keep you out of his thoughts. Edelgard would notice that Hubert would still perform all his duties to perfection, but something was different about him. Edelgard would push him to take you on a date.
It was after your first date that Hubert knew you were special. You seemed to understand him better than anyone else, and he knew he wanted to spend more time with you. After a couple more dates, Hubert would like to make it official: the two of you would be a couple.
It would take Hubert a long time to realize he loves you. At first, it would be an unfamiliar feeling that he would look forward to seeing you after a long day or the way his heart practically stops when he loses sight of you during a battle. At first, he would ignore these feelings, but then he would want to know why he was having those feelings. That research would lead him to the word love.
Once he realized he loved you, he wouldn't say anything to you right away. He would want to explore what he was feeling to make sure his love for you was real.
Hubert would find himself spending less time working. He would get everything done but wouldn't work himself into the ground. He would just want to spend as much time with you as possible.
Hubert would try to plan how to tell you that he loves you, but every time he was ready, something would come up, go wrong, or he would chicken out.
In one particular battle, Hubert's hand was forced. It was complete chaos. Hubert wasn't able to keep an eye on you and Edelgard both. He decided to stick with Edelgard but couldn't help but look for you between enemies. It was a tough battle, but eventually, it came to an end. Knowing that Edelgard was fine, Hubert began looking for you. He found you on the ground, injured.
Hubert immediately got help for you. He regretted leaving you alone during battle. He couldn't believe you were injured on his watch. You were severely injured, but the healers confirmed you would pull through. He knew he needed to tell you he loved you as soon as possible. He never knew that you could have been taken away from him so easily. When you awoke, Hubert was there with too many emotions to count swimming in his eyes. His first words to you were, "I love you".

i saw on your instagram that you also like annette/hubert..... any thoughts on their dynamic? think this is the first time i've seen anyone else who likes them out in the wild hahah.
omg i'm so glad you asked.. I think that they would be a great pair since Annette has a hidden darker side (mostly just prevalent in her Crimson Flower dialogues with enemies) and Hubert has a less-emphasized brighter side (shown in his dialogue when chosen to be the dancer, as well as meal conversation with Edelgard).
I feel like they would bond over being mages on opposite sides of the spectrum (I feel like wind and dark magic are almost opposites) as well as both being super dedicated to studying. Annette is super smart but acts happy-go-lucky, and Hubert is super smart but acts in the opposite way. They also both have father issues, but in a unique way that both of them are still close to/rely upon their fathers and possibly search for their approval(until Hubert kills his, or Annette kills hers in Crimson Flower).
Annette is prone to staying up extremely late in the library, and I feel like they would run into eachother in there or Annette would accidentally get roped into one of Hubert's covert operations. As well as Annette is afraid of ghosts, but I feel like she would also have a fascination with them like Mercedes does, and maybe while searching for ghosts she could stumble across Hubert. Annette is smart enough for Hubert to think he's gaming her but actually she is using HIM to her advantage.
Also just Annette is very clumsy and funny, and I think Hubert would find it endearing and possibly show his own clumsy or funny side (which he has imo... deep down he's a dumb loser). I think they could have so much fun together, especially since Annette is the kind of gal who doesn't judge people for their appearance and is very inclusive. Hubert's demeanor wouldn't bother her.
Also it's worth mentioning that from the sheer number of drawings I've done of Hubert, I think i've done a drawing of almost every possible m/f Hubert ship lol. And Annette is one of my favorite characters, so badabingbadaboom, it's a match! It's a similar situation with Hubert/Ingrid, but it's way harder to shoehorn them together because I'll be the first to admit they genuinely have NO chemistry.
An honorable mention is Hilda/Hubert, I think they have tons of potential too (and they even spoke directly to eachother in FEWarriors:Three Hopes!)
#i could talk forever#and ik felix/annette is basically canon but hubert/annette fixes all the problems i feel like they would have#i couldnt have felix be his wet-blanket self around annette#and Dorothea and Hubert is pretty great but Dorothea is just too judgey for Hubert and would tease him too much#and i cant imagine her in a m/f relationship anyways lmao#genuinely since getting into The Terror I havent done that much fire emblem stuff rippppp#fire emblem three houses#annette fantine dominic#hubert von vestra#text post#ask#asks

i love how fucking weird the fire emblem three houses / hopes cast is. i love how it would (and it does!) take effort for them to understand each other's perspectives. i love how they clash and align. i love how through interpretation or headcanon that every character has the believable intelligence that grasping another's needs and motivations, even when they disagree with them, is not an unreasonable supposition. they're so diverse and fun.
#fire emblem three houses#fire emblem#three hopes#the first sentence might seem like a nonsequitur but this started because i imagined rodrigue interacting with hubert and / or bernadetta

Fire Emblem: Three Houses, recruitment overhaul. Route availability.
Recently, I did a thread on Twitter explaining the changes I would've made regarding the recruitment of the students in Three Houses, which could be boiled down to drastically limiting the number of students that can be recruited out of houses, and making the recruitment of some students a more involved process.
This was done for three reasons:
To keep characters in characters. Something that often goes undermined is the fact that the vast majority of students are nobles. With responsibilities. They can't just up and leave. And for other characters, they WOULDN'T up and leave. I honestly think it would strengthen the narrative of each route if only certain units were available in them, with the biggest beneficiaries of such change being Silver Snow and Verdant Wind.
To encourage the player to use different units.
It's fun.
Starting with the Black Eagles, they all canonically have two paths they can go down to: Silver Snow and crimson flower.
Edelgard: cf.
Hubert: cf.
Ferdinand: SS and cf.
Lindhardt: Universal Recruitment* (UR)
Caspar: UR.
Bernadetta: SS and cf.
Dorothea: UR.
Petra: SS and cf.
Edelgard and Hubert are exclusive to crimson flower, obviously. Ferdinand, Bernadetta and Petra can only go one of two paths. Caspar and Dorothea are universal recruitments, meaning they can go to all four routes. Linhardt is UR as well, but you need to have recruited Caspar beforehand, and they need to have reached their B support rank as well. Failure recruit any of them in part 1 means they will appear as enemies in their respective maps and die.
Dorothea, as a commoner, has nothing holding her to the black eagles, let alone Adrestia, and so her leaving is easy to justify. Caspar is a noble, but unlike Ferdinand he doesn't put as much importance to his position, especially given how he won't inherit anything as a second son. Not only that, given Caspar's strong sense of justice, it's easy to imagine him siding against Edelgard after it is revealed that she's been behind nigh everything that happen in White Clouds. Linhardt also doesn't put much importance to his status as a noble, but he also doesn't care much about going out of his way to switch sides, hence why you need Caspar to recruit him.
The situation with Ferdinand, Bernadetta and Petra is more complicated, as they're now locked into the Black Eagles routes. For Ferdinand is a straightforward case of him being a noble and can't just up and leave, added to the fact that he takes his duty very seriously so he wouldn't in most cases. Bernadetta may not put much stack on her role as a noble, but she's still one. Her social anxiety prevents her from transferring to another house and it's not difficult to imagine her fighting in the war because she was dragged into it. For Petra, I wanted to lock her into the BL routes to highlight her grim situation. Petra is a political hostage, and her people are being used to keep her in line. Silver Snow is the only way for her to set herself and her people free, otherwise she'll remain under the Empire's thumb, or will die for her oppressors. The fact that Silver Snow is the only way for Petra, Ferdinand and Bernadetta to defy the empire adds to its uniqueness, now, which it arguably needs more than the other routes in order to differentiate it from Verdant Wind, and the same principle applies to Verdant Wind as well.
This does mean that Petra loses her support with Claude, but I'll address that in another post.
Onto the Blue Lions:
Dimitri: AM.
Dedue: AM.
Felix: UR.
Ashe: UR.
Sylvain: AM.
Mercedes: AM, SS and VW.
Annette: AM, SS* and VW*
Ingrid: AM.
Once again, Dimitri and Dedue remain exclusive to Azure Moon, but this time, I've decided to make Sylvain and Ingrid exclusive to the route as well. Ingrid is probably the easiest to justify, I'm kind of impressive she wasn't exclusive to begin with. But I think it's not that hard to see Sylvain as exclusive to AM as well, given his loyalty to Dimitri and his duty as a noble (Side note, but Sylvain and Ingrid being exclusive to AM would actually give the let's ignore Dedue Faerghus Four legitimacy given how they now always stay by Dimitri's side, rather than leaving him for the fisheyes professor, doubly so for Sylvain, given that all Byleth needs is being female)
Felix being universal fits his character, even though I would make a point in highlighting how he's abandoning his nation for what amounts to a temper tantrum. Ashe is fine as he is, and I like that you have to re-recruit him in SS and VW. I do have to wonder why he appears in the final map of cf as an enemy if unrecruited when he's forced into the empire side in the other routes... Mercedes is recruitable in VW but has no desire to going back to the Empire. The only way for her to join the Black Eagles is in Silver Snow, where Byleth chooses to side against Edelgard. Mercedes is the new Hilda now. Finally Annette. Much like Linhardt with Caspar, Annette needs Mercedes in order to be recruited, meaning Annette is also locked out of cf (Annette is also the new Hilda, now). They need to have reached their C support (and I honestly would also lock their B support to Part 2)
Much like their Black Eagles counterparts, Mercedes isn't a noble with responsibilities tying her to her current nation (only painful memories keeping her away from her original one) Felix puts his own feelings above her duty as a noble like Caspar (only unlike Caspar, this is explicitly a bad thing) Annette needs a strong reason to want to leave her home. Ashe's circumstances are unique.
Now, the only way to save Ingrid and Sylvain is to join the Blue Lions, because otherwise they'll follow their king to their untimely deaths in SS and VW, and they, alongside Mercedes and Annette, will die defending their homeland from the imperial invasion of Adrestia.
Mercedes also loses her support with Jeritza. And Sylvain and Ingrid lose their support with Bernadetta. Ingrid also loses her support with Claude.
Finally, the Golden Deer:
Claude: VW.
Lorenz: VW, SS and AM*.
Raphael: UR.
Ignatz: UR.
Lysithea: VW.
Marianne: VW.
Hilda: VW.
Leonie: VW, SS and AM.
Claude is self explanatory, but I decided to expand the VW exclusivity to Lysithea, Marianne, and Hilda. Once again, they're nobles, they can't just up and leave. In Lysithea and Hilda's case, they wouldn't want to leave. All Lysithea cares about is helping her parents and she would not leave them behind. Hilda will want to stay by Claude and her brother's side. Marianne may not put as much importance to her noble status, but she wouldn't be swayed to join another side either, much like Bernadetta.
Much like Ashe, Lorenz has unique circumstances at play. He's a noble that couldn't and wouldn't leave his homeland, but that doesn't stop Byleth from supporting him in part 1 and, come part 2 of SS and AM, Byleth can officially recruit Lorenz to her cause.
And finally, the commoners: Raphael, Ignatz and Leonie. With nothing hard tying them to the Alliance, they can be recruited to the other two houses. The only difference is that, unlike her fellow deer, Leonie will not join you if you choose to side with Edelgard, because that would be siding with the people who murdered Jeralt. Unlike Mercedes, however, there is no reason for her not to join the BE right away, so after joining you, Leonie may leave you come the last chapter of White Clouds, as Flayn has.
This means that Marianne tragically loses her support with Dimitri, which is one of the best ones of the entire game. She, alongside with Hilda, loses her support with Ferdinand, too. Lysithea loses her support with Edelgard and loses her role in Ferdinand's paralogue as well. Leonie is the only Golden Deer Girl to not lose her support with Sylvain.
(Damn, the Deer suffered heavy losses here, lol)
The only way to save Lysithea from dying in Gronder is to choose the Golden Deer house. This is also the only way for Lysithea to get justice from the empire and TWSitD after what they did to her family.
I'm not changing the recruitment of the faculty members, they're fine as they are.
Same with the Ashen Wolves, though it I wanted to make it a little strict, then I'd make it that you need to recruit Yuri first to recruit the rest of the Wolves, otherwise you'll lose them forever.
My next post will talk about the support chains these changes will bring about.
Expect heavy favoritism towards Raphael.

The Enbarr Conspiracy
Previously I wrote about Agarthan influence in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and the Leicester Alliance from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. To round that out, here I want to discuss the nation they had probably the biggest and most overt influence on: the Adrestian Empire. Spoilers for both games under the cut.
The Hrym Rebellion and Insurrection of the Seven
Like the Tragedy of Duscur, the roots of the Agarthan presence in Adrestia have a longer history. In the Empire's case, this starts with a rebellion in the Hrym territory in its far east. In the Imperial Year 1167, thirteen years before the start of both Three Houses and Three Hopes, the incumbent Emperor Ionius IX tried to concentrate power into the hands of the imperial throne. In Hanneman and Hubert's C Support, it is explained this would take power away from Seven Great Houses in the Empire. Six of these provide minister positions in the court of the emperor: House Aegir providing prime ministers, House Vestra providing Ministers of the Imperial Household, House Hevring providing the Ministers of the Interior, House Bergliez providing the Ministers of Military Affairs, House Varley providing the Ministers of Religious Affairs and House Gerth providing the Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
Hrym, a house of more ordinary Imperial Viscounts is counted as the seventh of these houses due to its involvement in subsequent events, as explained in the Three Houses Paralogue Retribution:
"It was the six great noble families, plus Hrym."
In response to the planned reforms of Ionius IX, House Hrym rebelled and tried to join the Leicester Alliance, which it is separated from by the Airmid River. In this rebellion, House Hrym was aided by House Ordelia of the Alliance and so they mounted a rebellion. The rebellion was subsequently crushed by the Empire and the line of House Hrym wiped out. A puppet ruler was installed while the actual governance of the region was left to Duke Ludwig von Aegir.
Credit to @cartographers-office for removing the names from the Fódlan map used in the above picture.
In response to these events, the Six Great Houses grew fearful of Ionius's rule and what he might do against them. They banded together with House Hrym to strip power away from the Emperor in the Imperial Year 1171 in the so-called Insurrection of the Seven.
It is hard to say how much of these events happened naturally and how much, if anything, was an Agarthan conspiracy. No direct hints of foul play are given, but there are a few notable things. Around the same time as Hrym's subjugation, the Empire gained sway over Ordelia territory as well. Some of their officials were replaced with Empire officials, among whom were Agarthans. Furthermore, Shambhala, the city where the Agarthans live, is located in Hrym territory as well.
It is possible the Agarthans had nothing to do with the initial rebellion and took advantage of the Empire troops going to Ordelia, repurposing the occupation for their own ends. However, in the chapter Darkness Attacks (Chapter 13) of Golden Wildfire, the Agarthans cause major revolts in both Hrym and Ordelia territories by stirring up bandits. Ignatz compares these revolts to the initial Hrym Rebellion at the military camp:
"The bandits have spread as far as Hrym territory, right? There’s never been rioting on both sides of the Airmid River simultaneously. Oh, but if I recall, House Ordelia and House Hrym have suffered through a disturbance like this once before. At the time, Viscount Hrym staged an uprising, and Count Ordelia joined her. I can’t imagine that bears any relation to our current crisis, but it does give me pause."
This parallel is noteworthy and may imply the Agarthans had a hand in stirring up the initial Hrym Rebellion, but Ignatz also says he can't imagine any relation between the incidents. At the very least, the Agarthans took advantage of the situation to further their own ends in Ordelia.
Agartha takes root in Adrestia
In the Insurrection of the Seven, House Arundel sided with the insurrectionists to strip the Emperor of his power according to the Register of Empire Nobles, Part I. It was the political unrest caused by the Insurrection of the Seven that forced Anselma von Arundel/Patricia, Volkhard von Arundel and Edelgard to seek asylum in Faerghus.
This was arranged by the Agarthan Cleobulus, who had taken up the identity of the mage Cornelia, and it was this that allowed the Agarthans to take control over the Empire. It is mentioned in Chapter 6 of Azure Moon that in the Imperial Year 1174, Volkhard stopped donating to the Church of Seiros. This marks the year that Volkhard was replaced by Thales, the leader of the Agarthans, and also the year that he and Edelgard returned to Adrestia.
Thales would go on to become the regent of Adrestia, likely because of Ionius's political impotence and likely because none of his children were of age yet. It might also have been a reward for House Arundel's support in the Insurrection of the Seven. Contrast this to House Nuvelle, which had sided with Emperor Ionius. As a result, when the foreign nations of Dagda and Brigid attacked in the Imperial Year 1175, House Nuvelle was not given support. Its town was destroyed in the war by Dagda and Brigid and dissolved after the war's conclusion, as explained in the Constance/Byleth B Support from Three Houses. House Nuvelle's territory would end up being given to House Gerth.
Likely as a result of Thales now having control over the Empire, the Agarthans began to infiltrate Adrestia en-masse. As said by Edelgard in her Supports with Hubert in Three Hopes:
"Our hidden foe [the Agarthans] was deeply entrenched in almost every facet of Adrestian society. The two were almost inseparable."
So after the Tragedy of Duscur was orchestrated by Cleobulus in Faerghus in the Imperial Year 1176, the imperial nobles rewarded those involved with large sums of money and resourced. This was likely done by Thales and the other Agarthans in the Empire to strengthen the allies of Cleobulus in Faerghus.
The Enbarr Experiments
Gaining rulership of the Empire was one goal of the Agarthans with taking advantage of its political unrest. However, they also had a second goal and that goes back to the initial Hrym Rebellion. In its aftermath, as mentioned before, the Empire gained sway over Ordelia region and Agarthans managed to infiltrate the Empire officials stationed there.
As explained in the Lysithea/Byleth A Support in Three Houses, the Agarthans performed blood reconstruction surgeries on the children of House Ordelia and killed them one by one. Lysithea was the only one who survived the Agarthan experiments and received two Crests, one of Gloucester and one of Charon, from them. She also lost all pigment in her hair and her lifespan was greatly reduced. The Agarthans considered this a success and left Ordelia territory shortly after.
These experiments were a test run for what the Agarthans went on to do in Enbarr, the capital of Adrestia, after they had seized control of the Empire and with the aid of the Empire's noble houses. As explained in the Edelgard/Byleth Support line in Three Houses, Emperor Ionius IX had 11 children, including Edelgard, and they were all imprisoned in dungeons under the Imperial palace. There the Agarthans performed a second round of blood reconstruction surgeries, leaving most of Ionius's children either dead, crippled by disease or not sound of mind. The goal of the Agarthans was to implant the Crest of Flames in one of these children, as that Crest is the most powerful of all according to Rhea in Chapter 21 of Verdant Wind:
"An incredible power that we children cannot hope to match dwells within the blood of the progenitor god."
Edelgard was the only one to make it out of the experiments relatively unscathed, as she successfully received the Crest of Flames in addition to her minor Crest of Seiros. According to Edelgard, the Agarthans did all of this to create a peerless emperor to rule Fódlan. In the words of Three Houses director Toshiyuki Kusakihara, Edelgard is Agartha's "masterwork."
Thales also makes all of this explicit in Chapter 10 of Three Houses:
"You [Flame Emperor/Edelgard] are our greatest creation. We used the defiled beast's blood as the fuel to your flame, that you may burn even the gods. Now is the time to cleanse Fódlan of that power, and bring forth our salvation."
And that is about everything the Agarthans have orchestrated in Agartha prior to the start of Three Houses and Three Hopes, but their greater purpose and plan remains a bit enigmatic, even though Thales hints at it in the quote above. But what that is perhaps a story for another time.

Therapy / Making amends / "I'm alive, I'm just not well / ALT: Regret
Edelgard almost never had regrets in her life. She usually kept a strong face whenever she needed to do something; regrets could get her killed, and she chose not to dwell on them whenever she felt guilty. She did feel guilt when she betrayed her class and the monastery in general, but she knew that she had to do it in order to do what she needed to do.
There was one thing she felt regret over.
Her professor, Byleth. How she never got to spend much time with the woman, how she never got to speak to her as much.
And… how she never got to tell her how much she grew to love her.
She sighed, sipping her tea as she stared up at the morning sky. Hubert wasn't nearby, so she was glad for the alone time with her thoughts. Taking another sip, she began to think.
Byleth… she was an odd one, she had to admit. When they first met, Byleth risked her own life to protect Edelgard from being killed, despite barely knowing each other. Jeralt had stated that it was Byleth's nature as a mercenary to do so, but Edelgard couldn't help but feel a connection with the woman. When Byleth and Jeralt were brought to the monastery, Byleth and Edelgard became friends—Byleth had taught her many things, and had made sure that she was safe during battles.
Byleth was usually stoic, but the moment Edelgard turned against her in order to start her plan, Edelgard could see the hurt in her eyes. Seeing that broke her heart, but she held on. If it meant losing Byleth, Edelgard had to move forward with her plans.
Then something shocking happened. Byleth was ordered by Rhea to kill Edelgard for her crimes, but Byleth didn't—she instead chose to protect Edelgard, and took her side.
That was when Edelgard began to fall in love.
She didn't really have time to tell Byleth this, but the regret remained. During the battle against those who sided with Rhea, Byleth ended up disappearing in the rubble of the monastery, never to be seen again. Edelgard could only struggle against Hubert's grip as she screamed out for her professor.
Tears sprung in her eyes, and she glanced down at her tea. She could see it—blood on her hands, the blood dripping down her fingertips. She gasped, shaking her head, but relief flooded in her when she realized that she was imagining things.
Taking another sip of her tea, she watched the clouds go by in the sky, as she thought as the tears threatened to fall:
Oh Byleth… I wish I could tell you…

Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Continued from my last post.
Ending September with Chapter 6, the one that actually transpires in September!
- Let's not mince words here: Chapter 6 is in the running for my favorite chapter in the game. This primarily comes down to one thing: the mood. We have a lovable character in Flayn who has gone missing, with rumors spreading that she was abducted, quite possibly by the deathly visage said to be haunting the grounds outside the monastery. Because of this, your exploration period is all about trying to search for clues to her disappearance and gathering suspects based on accounts of suspicious activity, all while this fucking music is playing:
That music does brilliantly at creating the atmosphere, conveying both a sense of urgency and a sense of dread, making you feel unsure who to trust as you run around interrogating people and desperately trying to solve this dark mystery. It never fails to give me chills.
- The suspects you end up with are Tomas (based on Leonie's account), Shamir (based on Petra's account), Professor Manuela (based on Dorothea's account), Professor Hanemann (based on Linhardt's account), Jeritza (based on Felix's account), Sir Alois (based on Raphael's account), and Sir Gilbert (based on Ingrid's account), with some other inhabitants of the Monastery also pointing the finger at the Death Knight, Dedue, the people of Abyss or even Flayn herself. Obviously some of these possibilities are more likely than others (really, was there any player that thought Alois might be responsible?), but it all does a great job creating the sense of a whodunnit with all the various people and potential motives raised.
- The Blue Lions route has an exclusive scene before the exploration period that serves as a funny pseudo red herring where Byleth and Dedue come across Dimitri in the library late at night. When Byleth checks the book that Dimitri had been looking at, they see it's all about the financial donations to Garreg Mach by Lord Arundel, making you wonder if Dimitri suspects Arundel to be involved in Flayn's disappearance. It later turns out that no, this was related only to Dimitri's quest for answers concerning the Tragedy of Duscur...except that Arundel actually was the one ultimately behind Flayn's kidnapping anyway! Ironic, isn't it?
- The culprit, of course, ends up being Jeritza who it turns out is the Death Knight, whom the Flame Emperor loaned out to Arundel back at the end of Chapter 4. The underground lair beneath Jeritza's quarters is swarming with Agarthan mages and Flame Emperor soldiers who join the Death Knight in trying to keep you from rescuing Flayn and another girl being kept hostage. If your units are strong enough, they can charge on through with no problem, but if not the game provides a back route via teleporting tiles that makes things easier.
- Your house leader will be absent for the battle and their second-in-command takes charge alongside you instead. This is especially interesting in the Black Eagles route, which was the first one written, since Hubert's exchange with the Death Knight hints at their secret alliance with one another, and the Flame Emperor showing up while Edelgard happens to be absent is a huge red flag especially if you did the C+ Support with Edelgard beforehand. Byleth must be pretty thick in that situation since I just can't imagine anyone hearing Edelgard say this:
then encounter someone saying this:
and not make the obvious connection.
- If you somehow fail to defeat the Death Knight or his paladins in 25 turns, this happens:
"Bring me the women"!? Could you have made it sound any creepier, Edelgard!?
- Finally, the end of this chapter is officially what makes the split in the Black Eagles route between Silver Snow and Crimson Flower a difficult choice for me. At first I would have thought that it was an obvious choice given that I can never personally connect with Rhea no matter how much I like her as a character and am more in agreement with Edelgard on the state of Fodlan despite the whole "masked terrorist working with the Agarthans" thing.
But counterargument: Seteth and Flayn.
This is the chapter that marks a huge shift in Seteth's character and how I perceived him. First off it was impossible not to feel terrible for him in how emotional he's rendered due to Flayn's disappearance (with Mark Whitten once again killing it with his voice-acting), a reaction that foreshadows that the "brother-sister" relationship between them is a ruse and that Seteth in fact has a much deeper connection to Flayn that justifies this vulnerability he is feeling. And once you rescue Flayn, his overwhelming relief and gratitude is palpable. As he says, he is indebted to Byleth and feels extremely remorseful for all the doubt and passive-aggressive barbs he's given them in the past. With Seteth becoming friendly toward you and even allowing an equally grateful Flayn to join your class, you will feel like an ass betraying their trust by joining with Edelgard and fighting against them as you help her sack Garreg Mach. But for this playthrough I'm doing Crimson Flower, so I'll have to live with that guilt

No clue when I'll finish this but I realized the other day that I've been imagining Elias like, somewhere between Silco from Arcane and Hubert from Fire Emblem so I had to draw him, also.
(I'm on episode 105, so please no spoilers in the notes/tags- Thanks!)

The castle was buzzing with activity as the soldiers prepared for battle strategies and training. Among them Hubert walked, his usual stoic demeanor in place as he navigated through the crowd. His mind, however, was preoccupied with thoughts of a certain individual - you, his closest confidant and dearest friend.
Over the years, you and Hubert had become inseparable, your shared experiences and mutual support forging an unbreakable bond. As you approached him, a soft smile playing on your lips, he couldn't help but feel a flutter in his chest.
"Good morning, Hubert," you greeted, your voice carrying a warmth that washed over him like sunlight.
Hubert nodded in acknowledgement, his gaze fixed on you. "Good morning. Are you ready for today's tasks?"
You laughed lightly, the sound bringing a minuscule to his face. "As ready as I'll ever be. But before we get started, can we talk for a moment?"
Curiosity mixed with a hint of trepidation coursed through Hubert's veins. "Of course. What's on your mind?"
You motioned for him to follow as you led him to a secluded spot, away from prying eyes and curious ears. Taking a deep breath, you turned to face him, your eyes searching his.
"Hubert, we've been through so much together," you began, your voice steady yet filled with emotion. "We've laughed, fought, and supported each other in ways that words can't express. And in the midst of it all, I realized something."
Hubert's heart quickened, a small smile crossing his face as he realized where this conversation was going. "What is it?"
A tender smile graced your lips as you reached out, gently taking his hand in yours. "Hubert, I've fallen in love with you. You've become such an important part of my life, and I can't imagine it without you."
Hubert couldn't help a chuckle at your words. He wasn't laughing at your confession, just that you were confessing to him of all people. Not that he particularly minded.
"I see. And you're asking me what, exactly?" There's a teasing tone to his voice. He knows what you're asking, but he wants to hear you say it.
You stepped closer, the space between you disappearing. "Hubert, would you be willing to take a chance on us? To explore what might blossom between us?"
A myriad of emotions flickered across Hubert's face as his smile widened a bit more, not caring about showing you that emotion. "Yes. I would enjoy to explore this new relationship with you further."
A smile crossed your face at his acceptance - as if he was going to disagree - and you couldn't stop yourself from pulling him into a hug. While the physical affection isn't something he cares for, he makes an exception as he holds you close to him too.

Crossovers I love you <3
I'm a sucker for crossovers. Love them, eat them up, especially with a good concept, good character writing, and good world building. The last one applies if's its part the fusion variety rather than the dimension travel variety. ESPECIALLY if there is a language issue. So here's one crossover idea and I'll post about more of mine later
OP x Fire Emblem Three Houses
I have a few ideas with this concept alone.
(a) Zoro, in his fashion, ends up within a Duscur village after being saved from drowning from a old fisherman. The village has been experiencing a pirating issue with no help coming from the Garreg Mach, the Eastern Church, or the Kingdom Soldiers. Zoro, despite not recovering fully, gets involved and that will have consequences.
No other Strawhats would show up, at least not till the very end and there wouldn't be chapters cutting back to them, maybe just a section or two. It would be Zoro, the Officer's Academy
The idea of Zoro interacting with fucking Claude, Edelgard, Hilda and Hubert is such a funny idea to me. They would not get his deal and he wouldn't not explain it. Felix would have a field day when he finds out Zoro uses three sword style, first because he'd find them obscenely stupid and second when he recognizes Zoro's strength in one way or another. Would Zoro see or sense Sothis? No fucking clue
It would also be an interesting way to discuss the viewpoints, social norms, and morality of both series. With his deposition and ideals, I do think he'd open up a lot of perspectives the students wouldn't have thought about before. I'd think he'd definitely clock Dimitri's tumbril. I'd have him leave before Edelgard starts the siege on Garreg Mach and be ambiguous
(b) Ashe ends up within the One Piece World sometime after Donato's death, Strawhats pick him up during some shenanigans and they help try and get him back home. Ashe is just coming off losing another father and another older familial figure, this could be an escape for him or a way to reignite his passion of justice and adventure again. Also I think his interactions with Nami, Luffy, and Usopp would be really interesting
(c) This time it's Glenn. Typically story of the Agarthans taking him during the battle, experimenting on him/using him as a test subject and he gets shot into OP. There's a million ways you can play with it. I imagine that he ends up on Drum Island and under Kureha's care. This would also have the end goal of Glenn getting back to Fódlan. Though we know some of Glenn's characteristics and a very, very basic backstory if that, he's still very much a sandbox character so writers can play with him however they want.
(d) All of the others are dimension travel so let's talk about one that can possibly work as a fusion. I'm thinking either a duo like Robin and Chopper, Law and Chopper, or just Law deliberately seeking out Fódlan in hopes of learning medical knowledge to help with the Smile Fruits. Why they are deliberately searching for Fódlan? Beats me, maybe something to do with magic and thinking outside the box.
