Time for me to be a tinfoil-hat Nostradamus for a bit. I predict one of these days HDG will break containment in a big way. Not in the “it was posted to a queer-friendly meme subreddit.” way. But in the people on TikTok are both loving and hating it in greater numbers than ever before. Like nuclear levels of discourse, and like category 5 media illiteracy. Like one of these days, someone will make a video essay about it. And we will have a lot more eyes on it. Lots of new stories and lots of hot takes. Maybe a lawsuit or two. But one of these days it may happen, we break containment and our little space is changed forever, for better or worse. So cherish it while it lasts before we all get canceled on TikTok. Maybe think about getting a dooms day bunker account or something. Now I have to go, I only rented my “The End is Nigh” sign for an hour and I don't want to lose my deposit.
Jokes aside if it ever does happen, I don't think it will be that bad honestly. It may suck for a week or two but I think we will live through whatever happens.
