apparently ppl on genshin reddit confessed to botting for player's pick at the game awards this year which is like, so funny/sad for Anime Gambling Simulator 2020 to win by virtue of people hoping they get a prize from the game if it wins

realizing this might ruffle a few feathers for any genshin fans following me but i have no love for gacha, i feel like the culture surrounding this game is worrying to say the least

Idgaf about the timeline/setting of the show, so in my head, he was a typical weird kid. When he wasn't doing quirk analysis stuff, he was drawing creepypasta fanart. He was watching Markiplier play fnaf and stuff, yk? He was a Tumblr kid.

No like seriously it's amazing and it's already one of my very favorite tcf fics out there. I can't wait to see more of Cale just being the nerd we all know he is and Alberu just going absolutely feral. I haven't touched genshin in forever and a year but you made me want to play it. (I have REALLY bad gacha luck on genshin and it killed my motivation for the game since I'm a f2p. I have not pulled even one 5 star lol.)

I’ll be real I’m someone who has spent insane amounts of time on Genshin to the point of multiple burnouts (Stopped playing at Sumeru released then hyper focused miserably on Sumeru played for a few updates and then stopped playing again at Fontaine release and here I am hyper focusing an insane amount once more) Straight up there’s a reason I have details like Cale having had multiple accounts and shit, because that is me I had multiple accounts.

I will say if you do revisit the game if you’re willing maybe make a new account? Only saying this cause my first account was pretty similar luck wise so I had always lost the 50/50 plus had to reach hard pity in order to get a 5 star, and then I made a new account and my luck is insane on that account. Swear that shit is tied to email.

When it comes to Cale nerd moments I can’t stress enough that it’s also my nerd moments, I think about this game a normal amount. And we haven’t even gotten into Alberu going batshit yet, wait until he meets Klee it’s going to be glorious.

AND BABY DRAGON CALE MY BELOVED. The Dragon Cale brainrot started cause of a different Tcf crossover I’m making atm, but the Genshin reobsession happened and it leaked into it. Also my totally normal views on any Dragon in media(I have favorites.) When it comes to the baby dragon detail, it’s not something I’ll go to far into as of now, but it is something that will be vastly expanded on in the fic itself. (Such as the little detail of baby dragons being terrible at hiding themselves.)

Outside of all that I’m so very glad you’re enjoying it! I’m afraid I didn’t pre write chapters when releasing this first one so it’s updates will be inconsistent as it’s more so a ‘gets posted when the chapters done’ kinda deal, but that also means I get a lot of time to cook with my writing! I hope you continue to enjoy the story as chapters are posted!

okay but for my serious answer it really depends what kind of mobile games you like! I’ll name the pros and cons of the 4 games that are like. most popular/actually playable rn:

cookie run: kingdom

PROS:

admittedly the one I’ve sunk the most hours into

It’s a city builder!! You can make really cool kingdoms the community is creative with that even if that side isn’t very loud or prominent. There are some MASTERPIECES

while the battling can be very samey, it’s also fun and can be genuinely difficult at times if (like me) you aren’t super good at games! there is a lot of tactics you can use for harder story levels

the story is genuinely interesting and while all the cookie language can make me wince, this game has also made me cry before and it’s very compelling when it wants to be

CONS:

PAY TO WIN. like. Technically you don’t have to, I haven’t spent a dime on CRK and I don’t plan to, but if you take one look at the arena leaderboard you’ll see it’s full of whales

It’s a gacha game, and while all the CR games are gacha games at least on some level, it’s most prominent in CRK. Get lucky (beginners luck seemed to be a thing though so idk maybe you will)

The story is interesting sure but the lore is WILD and keeps GOING . one hit after the other. we try our best here

Cookie Run: Ovenbreak

PROS:

my favourite my little baby girl (I haven’t touched it in a month I haven’t played the latest update)

In terms of gameplay? By FAR my favourite, an actual endless runner game.

The least gacha dependant game ! Only really the costume and the treasure gacha

The costumes SLAP like THEY GO SO HARD

CONS

Even I don’t fully understand Ovenbreak Lore there’s like 80 diff things happening at once story wise

Despite the fact that the cookies are no longer dependant on the gacha system to get, that doesn’t mean I enjoy the system that is present instead now (if the star candy system has no haters I’m dead)

The graphics… are a mixed bag. bc on one hand there are stunning cutscene arts, costumes, and newer cookies look gorgeous. on the other hand

PROS:

Honestly this one’s gonna be very brief, I don’t play this one

It’s a match game though!

Characters and lore seem very interesting but I just couldn’t get into it

CONS:

I can’t really do this for a game I played once

BUT I didn’t really understand the gacha system when I did so like that’s worth mentioning

Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures

PROS:

Game came out less than a month ago, I don’t have everything unlocked yet as well, BUT I do play it

This game is so cute the 3D graphics are AMAZING

Gameplay is very fun!!! The stages are all designed well and currently it’s a blast to play

CONS:

not many atm really this game is very new

Ngl, I haven't been too interested in Lovebrush, but I really like that trope you mentioned with Alkaid. I'm a sucker for otherworldly love, and then people resisting it, is just icing on the cake for me. Maybe I'll go check it out now.

OMG FIRST OF ALL. ANON. I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THE LOVEBRUSH SPAM. my brain is yet again Not Well, i fear, and i sincerely hope my tags are helping you block out any clutter. BUT. im glad you at least found some good in my ramblings!

there are a lot of things i like about lovebrush. while it might be harder to get attached to characters due to the "each world has an au version of the love interests" bit, it has its benefits. this aspect of lbc helps prevent ooc actions, as well as preventing the writers from loading new hobbies and skills onto the love interests because they've run out of ideas. like, if they want to give a new hobby, they can just make it something that au version likes.

base personality tends to stay the same, though. like what i mentioned with alkaid. he's gentle, respectful, and has strong emotions. it's nice because in both his godheim and eden routes, he resists the spells and otherworldly influences for lust and possessiveness, but genuinely and organically falls in love with mc over the course of the plot. it's a nice chance of pace from the writers being like oh look! he's under a SPELL or he's DRUNK or Whatever - isn't this behavior HOT.

i can't speak for the future of this game, but i like it a lot as of right now. also it feels easier to be ftp. due to the fact that the cards only have like. four minute long stories (if even that), there's less of a "i NEED it" to pulling cards. there's a lot of reruns too. so while i always feel guilty when recommending a gacha, i feel less guilty when it comes to lbc which is more ftp friendly.
