BIG life update + void state journey currently

Soo a lot has happened in this last week in a half, a quick summary hurricane Milton hit, I moved away the same day I found out I had to, I had to break up with my boyfriend, and I had to say goodbye to my friends through text, thought I was gonna go back in 2 months (ik it sounds stupid for me to say goodbye to those ppl, but if I went back I wasn’t gonna be like 2 hours away for them) but my grandmother changed her mind, mind you that all happened in one day (besides hurricane Milton).

and is has shown me how undisciplined I am. I believe in fate and I think all this happened because I was not being truly determined, I kept pushing my desires away because I thought I already had what I wanted and I was putting my faith in to other people and things but myself, and letting my emotions dictate my void state when they didn’t even correlate. Now I’m currently living the life I do not desire at all like a complete 180 (my life before was like a 90) because I decided to put my own power second. It had made me very sad things had to come to this, but i understand why fate had brought me to this extreme things, because it would have never gone through my head.

This past week I have devoted my self to the void and my new story, something I’ve should’ve always done no matter what. Today I finally deleted all my social medias (besides tumblr, for my helpful post to look back on) and I’m reading a book called the power of the subconscious, and Neville Goddard book I had on hold. I feel so much better with myself, I feel so much powerful than I ever did, I have finally fully recognized my inner self conscious power. I feel like I’ve just been reborn ✨

pt4, Nat and y/n telling the team and they’re all like: “yeah we knew” and y/n and nat have dumbstruck faces bc they thought they were sneaky. Steve is like, “I was in between the two of you playing footsies that one time at dinner. I know I’m old but I know what footsies means” and everyone is saying how they already knew😭 Only Bruce didn’t know…bc he’s always locked in his lab, would be funny if Bruce didn’t even know about Nat’s not so little friend. Or none of them knowing and asking how y/n and Nat decided to get pregnant. Like them asking if it was bone marrow or a donor, yk? I can imagine all their faces when Nat says she’s got a D. Maybe y/n has had a few one night stands w some guys on the team and let’s it slip that it’s the “biggest one i’ve ever seen. Hurt like a mf” and they all start to feel insecure and she can tell so she follows up with, “but, side isn’t what matters. It’s not important:)” and winks at Nat like, ‘oh it’s definitely important’

  You walk into the conference room before Natasha and offer Steve and Tony a small wave that Steve reciprocates while Tony offers up a smile. You notice that neither man seems to find Nat's presence here odd, but maybe they just figured you’d brought her with you to give yourself support for whatever medical information you had to inform them of, they offer her a smile as well.

   “Hey Y/n, Nat” Tony greets as the two of you take your seats at the table, “Bruce says you have something to inform us of?”

   You nod nervously taking your bottom lip between your teeth, “Uh, yeah”

   Natasha can sense the shift in your demeanor and instantly reaches out to grab your hand. You thank her with a soft smile and a tight squeeze of her hand before your attention focuses back onto the team's leaders.

   “Is everything alright?” Steve asks, also sensing the change in atmosphere

   “Everythings perfect” you reply, causing your girlfriend to smile brightly, “I’m pregnant”

   Steve smiles, “Congratulations you guys!” 

   “I knew it!” Tony exclaims

   “Wait”, you question, “You…you guys knew?”

   “Yeah we knew.” Tony admits, admiring the dumbstruck look on Natashas face. No doubt the spy thought the two of you had been sneaky.

   Steve simply shrugs, “I was in between the two of you playing footsies that one time at dinner. I know I’m old but I know what footsies means.”

   Nats brows furrow as she sputters to get clarification, “But that doesn’t explain, I mean, do you- do you know about my…my uh.."

   Tony smirks at her, “Yes Nat, we knew about the friend in your pants”

   “I thought only Fury and Dr. Cho knew.” she mumbles softly, letting her eyes fall to the ground and you soothe her anxieties by grabbing her hand

   “We didn’t mean to find out Nat. It’s not like we went looking for that type of information” Steve assures her, “We accidently found out when Dr. Cho called us in her office to update us on your injuries after that explosion a few months ago.”

   “Your ct scans were on the light board behind her. It was an easy thing to spot.” Tony says with a shrug, unknowingly boosting her ego slightly

   “We don’t think any different of you, if that's what you're worried about.” Steve says as she stays silent

   Tony nods in agreement, “Yeah, you're still the same Russian super spy to us. So what if you're packing more than guns and have an extra weapon underneath your belt.” Steve quickly gives him a look of displeasure though, “Too much?”

   “Little bit.” 

  Natasha smiles shyly as a blush covers her cheeks and abandons holding your hand in favor of wrapping her arm around your waist instead, “Thanks guys”

   “Of course Nat. Now what do the two of you want done?” the soldier asks

   “She’ll need to be put on pregnancy leave immediately.” Natasha tells the two men before continuing, “And I’ll need to be put on less missions. Priority only. I need to be here for them.”

   “When will either of you be coming back?” Tony asks

   “Not sure. Probably not until the baby is a toddler, unless I’m absolutely needed of course.”

   “I’m also not sure.” Nat responds, “I want to be there for all the baby's firsts. Steps, words, everything.” 

   Steve nods, “I’ll let Fury know. I doubt he’ll be happy about losing two Avengers for an undetermined amount of time.”

   “But he’ll get over it.” Tony adds with a smile, “You two deserve to do what's best for you, and of course the baby”

   Natasha smiles wide and places a quick kiss against your cheek, “Are you guys done with us then?”

   Steve nods, “Yes, but don’t go far. The takeout Tony ordered for everyone should be here by now.”

   “Come on!” Tony exclaims, “Let's go eat!”

   The four of you head out of the conference room and make your way to the dining room, where all the other heroes that aren’t currently out on missions are gathered. Everyone is busy plating their food until the four of you enter and take your seats, then everyone's eyes are on you. 

   Wanda is the first to speak up, “Everything alright Y/n?” 

   “Yeah, you ok?” Bucky adds, “Bruce mentioned you had some important medical stuff to discuss with Steve.”

   You feel a hand on your thigh and you glance at your girlfriend, giving her a smile, “Yeah guys, everythings fine. Better than fine really. I’m pregnant.”

   Your team members all erupt in cheers as they congratulate you, and Steve and Tony smile once more at the news. You notice the hand on your thigh tighten its grip, and you guess it's in anticipation and nervousness for the question that's sure to come.

   “So, who's the lucky guy that's soon to be daddy?” Sam asks with a grin

   “Natasha.” you answer with a smirk, causing her to beam with pride

   Wanda isn’t surprised by this news. Your thoughts for the Russian and her thoughts for you are quite loud afterall. Clint isn’t surprised either, he caught on pretty quick to his best friend's change of behavior and pulled the info from her. Everyone else, minus the two team leaders of course, are surprised by this though. Especially Bruce.

   His fork clatters against the table, and his hand shakes slightly as he tries his best to not to glare at you in sheer contempt. He's also trying his best not to let the big guy have control at the dinner table. 

   You don’t even notice his behavior, too busy staring at the food on your plate in order to avoid everyone's gazes that you fear may hold judgment. Nat fails to notice him too, she's too busy keeping an eye on you to make sure you're not too anxious or stressed. Tony and Steve do notice though, and they were honestly afraid of his reaction. They're grateful he seems to be in control of his other self. For now at least.

  “Oh shit, uh sorry Nat.” Sam apologizes, scratching the back of his neck “Guess that’ll teach me to just assume things. Heh.”

  “So did you guys use a donor or have Nats bone marrow fertilize your eggs?” Hope asks, and Sam sends her a look of gratitude for getting the spotlight off of him

   Tony and Steve share a knowing look, that they realize Wanda sends their way as well. They suppose that shouldn’t surprise them. She likely found out when she entered Nats mind back when she was with Ultron or due to one of the redhead's loud thoughts, or even one of yours.

   Nat shakes her head, “Neither. It’s a natural conception”

   “Bullshit” 

   “Excuse me?” your girlfriend challenges, glaring at the scientist

   “Oh come on Natasha!” he exclaims, “We all know you're not equipped to get anyone pregnant! It's obvious Y/ns just been screwing around with some guy behind your back!”

  “What the fuck did you just say?!” she nearly shouts, “Y/n would never cheat on me, how dare you insinuate such a thing! I love her and she loves me! This is my baby!”

   You glare at the bitter brainiac, “And I’ll have you know that Tasha is very equipped for it, Banner. I’ve not seen yours, but I figure the Hulk must compensate for something so I can easily hazard a guess and say that she's bigger than you.”

   Clint nearly chokes on a piece of beef at the revelation. Apparently there were some things his best friend kept from him, and if he had to guess something she had been hiding, well a dick wouldn't have even made the list. Wanda starts patting his back as he hacks and coughs violently, a futile attempt to soothe his throat.

   Bruce shakes off his initial shock at your revelation, and does his best to ignore your dig at him before the anger fueled by perceived betrayal returns, “Are you being serious right now?! You're telling me that Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow and femme fatale of the team, has had a penis this whole time?”

   His fury is abundantly clear, and it's only now that Natasha finally sees the man's truest intentions. He had obviously read far too much into her ability to calm the Hulk down, and had developed feelings for her along the way. In his infatuation with her he failed to notice that she didn’t return these feelings, instead projecting his own onto her.

   “Yes Bruce. Not that it’s any of your business, but yes I have a penis.” she spits at the man, clearly agitated by his behavior

   “And you didn’t think that was something we all needed to know?”

   She looks at him in disgust, “Why would I need to announce what's in my pants?”

   He runs a hand through his hair in frustration, “Because Natasha! You flirted with me, and came onto me almost every time we were alone on a mission!”

   “You really think that's what that was?” She laughs, “I wasn’t flirting with you moron! I was doing my job. Whatever I said to you was done to either keep our cover during an op, or to calm the Hulk down after a fight.”

 “You really expect me to believe that?!” he sneers

   Natasha can feel the way you tense beside her, ready to defend her with your words or fists no doubt. Normally she would find that endearing, but when the man you're getting ready to go up against can turn into a giant green raging beast when angered, it's best not to tempt fate and attack him. Especially when pregnant. Her hand moves further up your thigh and she squeezes it gently, moving her thumb in soothing circles to both calm you and show you that she's ok. Bruce can say whatever he likes, because at the end of the day she knows that's not how anything happened between the two of them, and she knows you know that too. She knows you don’t think like he does about her body either. She knows you love her.

    Before he can express further contempt she answers him, “I don’t care what you believe Banner. The truth is that there was never anything going on between us, nor would there ever have been. I know that and so does Y/n. Whatever delusional fantasies you dreamed up were all your own.”

  “You really are a double agent aren't you?” he scoffs, “Leading me on by being this perfect drop dead gorgeous flirt only to be fucking Y/n with your- ”

   “That's more than enough Bruce!” you growl as your cutlery slams against the table. 

   Bruce smirks grimly, and as the man goes to stand to tower over you the rest of the team are on their feet. Wanda's hands are illuminated red, Tonys are now covered by his armor with repulsors at the ready. Sam, Hope and Steve have their fists ready to dish out blows, and Bucky flexes his metal arm while Natasha has her widow's bites ready to fire. And then there's Clint. Still coughing he grabs a breadstick and wields it as if it were a nightstick instead.

  Though the man is obviously struggling for air and is a bit confused, it warms Nat's heart to see her best friend so ready to defend her and the woman she loves. Even if he was only defending them with baked goods. 

   But Bruce doesn't seem bothered by everyone standing up against him. He continues to stare at you, trying his best to look intimidating. Deciding you aren't afraid of him you stand, causing a dangerous flash of green to be seen in his eyes.

   “I swear to god, if you even try to hurt her, in this form or your other, I will make you suffer.” your girlfriend warns him as she steps protectively in front of you

   Bruce then takes a second glance around the table and decides not to push his luck. He takes a deep breath before turning around and stalking off towards his lab, where he’ll no doubt hold up until he’s done mourning over his imaginary love lost.

   Once he disappears out of sight everyone visibly relaxes, letting their weapons, hands, and breadsticks fall to their sides once more. As a few of them move to take their seats once more, Natasha turns to you and cups your face.

   “Are you ok?” you nod in answer and she looks to the two men on the other side of the table, “I’m taking Y/n to my room, I expect something to be done about him.”

   Tony's eyes meet hers, “Don’t worry, I’ll be calling Ross about him. We can’t have him around here if he’s ready to fly off the handle like that at you or Y/n whenever he's given the opportunity.”

    She nods as she grabs a few of the take out containers for the two of you, “Thanks Tony. And thank you everyone for looking out for Y/n. It means a lot that you guys have our backs.”

   As soon as you're both back in her room she quickly sets the food down on her bedside table before cupping your face with her hands. You can see a storm of multiple emotions in her eyes as she looks you over, and you watch in worry as tears begin to build in her eyes.

   “Tasha, I’m ok”, you tell her, softly reassuring her

    “I know, I know. I just- if the Hulk had hurt the two of you…”

   “But he didn’t, baby.” you tell her, placing one of your hands on hers over your cheek while bringing the other to guide her hand to your stomach, “We’re right here with you, and we’re both alright.”

   She nods before wrapping her strong arms around you in a tight embrace. She buries her head against your neck as your arms return her embrace and hold her tightly against you.

   “I love you so much, and if Banner's delusional ass ever does something like that again, then I’ll figure out just how indestructible Hulk really is. No one threatens my family.”

   “I love you too Tasha” you reply, resting your head on her shoulder, “You're going to be such an amazing mom.”

   Your words cause her to tighten her hold on you and a few tears land against your neck, “You really think so?”

   You pull away from her and cup her face this time, “I know so. Just look how protective you are. And you love so strongly and fiercely. Not to mention how you take care of me and spoil me.”

   Smiles spread across both your faces as she chuckled, “Of course I spoil you detka(baby), you’re the most important person to me.”

   You press a gentle but meaningful kiss against her lips, “You’re the most important person to me too, at least until our little one arrives. Then I think it’ll be a tie.”

   “Oh it will absolutely be a tie for me then. My girl and a mini version of her” Nat says with a sparkle in her eyes

   “Oh?” you exclaim with a laugh, “And what makes you think we won’t get a little you running around, hmm?”

   Her eyes light up even more at that, “You’d be ok with a mini me?”

   “Hmm, let me think….a mini redhead that's adorable in every sense of the word with sparkling green eyes, a heart of gold and a sense of adventure?” you say, stroking your chin in pretend thought as you pause dramatically, “Yeah I think I’d be ok with that”

   She smirks at you, taking you in her arms once more before playfully hopping onto the bed. You giggle, burying your face into her neck affectionately as she holds you against her, peppering kisses against the side of your head. You allow her to continue showering you in affection for a few more minutes before you reluctantly pull away.

   “Much as I love cuddling with you, I’m starving.” you tell her, untangling yourself from her lap as you grab the tv remote, “What Bond movie are we feeling tonight, baby?”

   Natasha hums in thought as she reaches for the takeout containers beside her, “How about ‘You Only Live Twice’?”

   “Sure thing Tasha” you tell her, clicking play on the title before taking one of the containers of food from her 

   Despite having seen this movie several times by now your eyes are glued to the screen, and Natasha takes this moment to steal a glance at you. She can’t believe how lucky she is to be able to call you hers, and now she's even more lucky because you're carrying her child. With you, she has everything the Red Room told her she never would. Love, family, truly she does have a place in this world with you beside her and she couldn’t be happier. She can’t wait to see your belly grow, can’t wait to meet her baby and spoil the two of you for the rest of your lives. She can’t wait for everything the future holds for her little family.

THE BIG FIND 2023: Day 9

The Big Find is a 10-day long Drarry fic-finding marathon to celebrate the blog’s anniversary. Below is the Day 9 compilation of lost fics, both old and new, that we’ve been unable to find. Our aim is to get as much attention to these lost fics as possible, to help people finally find their missing fics! 9.1 i’ve read this explicit fic once on ao3. honestly I barely remember anything except for draco saying “ah there’s my pretty cock” or something when he saw harry’s dick (im sorry for the words), they were about to have sex, and I think they’ve got an established relationship already.

9.2 Draco is sort of an assistant around Hogwarts, post-war, and Harry recently started teaching there. And Hagrid tells Harry about how Draco was really subdued because he was tortured and found in the forest or something, and Harry decides to try talk to him more. I think there’s a part where Harry goes to Draco’s class and he startles him and he dropped some potions, and panicked. It’s on ao3 I think, no more than 50k.

9.3 i was looking for a fic where they’re both Aurors and friends, working on a case. i read it 2-3 years ago and all i remember is one specific scene where they were at draco’s apartment on a couch and he was pining and thinks it would be easier to deal with his feelings if they were entirely physical, but they’re not because harry is in his pyjamas. harry also makes him tea in his house a lot. i think it was on the shorter side? probably not over 90k.

9.4 I’m looking for a fic where hp is finally gaining confidence in 4th yr and accidentally meets dm through the qddwrldcup as well as his younger sister he then meets him again in hogwarts as he is a very intelligent student who is recommended by the pres/headmistress. i dont recall anything else except Sirius and Remus were in hp’s life, hp and dm spent some time 2gther in the forest to heal his sis and himself. they liked eachother from that first meeting but more of a crush. I think dm’s younger sister was called Lyra, hp spoke to bill weasley and got a snake earring from him, I remember moonlight or something moon in the title. Fic is not double trouble by babythelady

9.5 im looking for a creature fic where draco is taken into a elf/veela village with severus as his mother and he has half-brother drake malfoy. harry is VERY interested in draco and he is a creature too but icr what. ik draco was very controlled of his emotions but harry always teased him to make him blush. there was also non-con with his step-bro drake and karkaroff i think and cissy was a bitch in this story.

9.6 Searching for a fic I read on ao3. I don’t recall if there was specific year they were in or if it was a multi year fic, but they were still in their Hogwarts years. Draco was fully helping them. I think Sirius and Remus were there and together, but I could be remembering wrong. A huge battle, I think the final one, went down on the ground of Malfoy Manor. Snape revealed himself as a spy to Voldemort in the battle, facing him himself.

9.7 So the fic I’m looking for is a multi chapter fic where Draco is pregnant and he stays with the golden trio and I think that they (H and D) redecorated the place. Harry and Draco have a fight Draco tries to put a newborn scorpius to bed but he keeps crying for harry so harry comforts Draco and Scorpius, and Draco says he’s a bad dad and harry reassures him. Harry wakes up to Scorpius calling him dada (I think) and finds out that Draco, Ron and Hermione have been teaching scorpius to say that.

9.8 pretty sure it was on fanfiction.net but it’s possible that it was transferred to wattpad. It is complete and I’m pretty sure it had chapters. It’s an au set at Hogwarts in fifth year (no umbridge) where Harry and Draco are mind linked because of a bad mix of spells on the train home at the end of fourth year. Draco’s been having dreams that he consistently dies in while Harry is there. They learn that they’re connected and start talking to each other in their dreams and in their minds during school. snape is his godfather and tries to find potions to help him but doesn’t not know that Harry is apart of it. I remember it being very specific about one potion tasting like raspberries. Draco gets into a few fights with an older bigoted Slytherin and it is a known fact in this fic that he does not respond well to magical healing. He also claims that Harry is stalking him and then is made fun of for being paranoid. It also gets found out that Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred and George cursed Draco and his friends on the train the pervious year and are brought to Dumbledores office with Snape and McGonagall. Draco’s parents are super protective and they as well as snape set up something called SASHA which is to help slytherins who don’t want to participate in the second wizard if war to safe harbors. They drug the food in the middle of the night and remove the students who signed up. Blaise stays behind to be with Draco but most other named Slytherins from the books leave. Draco and Harry have a falling out over this. Sirius and Remus are boyfriends in this but are very minor characters and I don’t think are listed as a pairing although it’s implied in the fic. Dumbledore is blatantly evil as is mad eye moody and is trying to find out where the missing kids are. Draco is kidnapped and is severely injured. Harry wants to help find him but is told that he’s done enough and is put back to sleep. Remus tries to advocate for dumbledore to help find him by saying that when Remus taught him he was a really bright kid and Dumbledore brushes him off and says something along the lines of ‘we can’t save every kid, if he comes back alive we welcome him with open arms, if not…’ and Remus and Sirius are dumbfounded. Remus and Sirius break in to the hospital wing after the malfoys show up and have Harry talk to Draco through their connection to find out where he is. Narcisa is wildly powerful and finds him somewhere out of the country (I think New York, it was something on a license plate). He gets brought back and everything’s alright. Then it’s revealed that Dumbledore planned the kidnapping.

9.9 Drarry adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” or “What You Will”. I’m not sure if the author actually mentions it but I remember thinking that when reading it. The Twins are Draco and Luna, but they aren’t actually twins in this fic, they are strangers that just met that looks alike. Even down to their butt because I remember a funny conversation about one being the model for a butt pad and the other wearing it. The plane or some kind of transportation they met on crashes. Harry is like Duke Orsini in which he is trying to woo someone (I can’t remember who) with the help of Draco who I think is amnesiac. It gets fuzzy from there, but cue lots of mistaken identity hijinks. I think Blaise is that old friend that keeps harassing Draco to get something back.

9.10 Harry is DADA Professor at Hogwarts. He goes by Evans instead of Potter. He also doesn’t look like Harry Potter. Most of the school doesn’t know he is really Harry Potter. McGonagall knows his true identity as well as Teddy. I don’t remember who else knows. Teddy is a first year and he becomes friends with Draco Malfoy’s son. I don’t remember if his name is Scorpius or if it was something else. I also don’t remember which house they were sorted into. I think it was Gryffindor. I do know they are in the same house. Harry is Scorpius father but he doesn’t know it at first. Scorpius doesn’t know who is other father is but he knows what he looks like because he has a picture of him that he got from Draco. I have been looking for this story for a couple of years. I worry it has been deleted. I read it on fanfiction.net or a03

9.11 Sirius rescues Harry from Dursleys as a toddler and raises him? Harry and Draco become best friends (so adorable) and James and Lily are ghosts in the fic (ig?) . Also there’s a scene where they play pretend house where Harry is dad Draco is mom and Ron their dog? I think Pansy is the daughter.

9.12 looking for a fic that had a young harry and a death draco. it had gentleman in the title (i think it was the death gentlemen something). gloves and hand holding play an important role in the story. i think death draco leaves harry for a bit and they meet up again later

9.13 just remembered this fic i read a long time ago. i can’t remember if it was in ao3 or wattpad. it was set post hogwarts. harry is at least partly raising teddy and is lonely. he ends up finding draco and draco runs a center for lgbtq+ witches and wizards. a few former teachers are in it. teddy is struggling and thinks he is trans but isn’t sure but one day at the park wants to wear i think a dress, if it wasn’t a dress it was feminine presenting and other parents and kids make fun of him so harry immediately brings him to the center and everybody makes him feel better. obviously drarry gets together. there is also a pride-esqe thing that happens.

9.14 It’s about after the war, Harry and Ginny split up so he lives in a house which is attached to one side of the forbidden forest. One day, he meets Draco in the forest, keeps going back to talk with him, and falls in love. Draco later takes Harry to a lake and reveals that he’s committed suicide and was not real (a ghost maybe). It then ended with Harry committing suicide to be with him by also drowning in the lake.

Aeria Gush Post 2

Usual warning: This is going to be a long post with some spoilerly content. My art has evolved a lot over the 5 years I’ve been working on my project, so some of the stuff at the beginning is a bit rough. I’m back with another post where I’m going to gush about Episode 2 of my comic Aeria. Episode 2 is titled “A Transfer Student's Promise”

💙Episode 2 Part 1 One of the popular girls, Chrissy, becomes jealous when Mira is picked to show Cal around the school. Mira can already tell that this is going to be a problem which is why she didn’t want the position in the first place. 

💙Episode 2 Part 1 Mira shows Cal a shortcut to the school’s main office. The trees in the courtyard are in full bloom. Spring is a season of renewal and change, and big changes are coming into Mira’s life.  

💙Episode 2 Part 1 This is the first time I leaked one of the villains. This is Luarsha, the leader of the Aposaarians. I draw her lounging a lot because she’s the type of leader to order others to do her bidding, reflecting how lazy and ineffective she is. Luarsha is from one of eighteen kingdoms on Ailithyia; Ordenz. I base each kingdom off of an irl country and Ordenz is Japan. The gold flower pin Luarsha wears is the sigil of the kingdom. Two other characters are mentioned; Iris and Reseda. We’ll see Iris a further down, but we don’t see Reseda until a couple episodes later.

💙Episode 2 Part 2 Cal’s inner monologue reveals that the Iylven are looking for a specific girl. He realizes that Mira, despite looking human, must be the person they’re after once her markings are revealed in the sunlight. Cal is able to sense the markings on her back (he does not have the ability to look through clothing). All Iylven are born with markings; a tattoo which magic is channeled through. Some markings are hereditary and passed down the bloodline; they may be located on a different part of the body than the parent’s, but usually look the same. In Mira’s case, she possesses a very special set. This is how the Iylven were planning on identifying her, since she went missing when she was around 7-8ish years old. 

💙Episode 2 Part 2 Cal is still confused about why Mira is human. He personally knew her when they were younger, which also makes him question if her memories are intact since she should have remembered his face. 

💙Episode 2 Part 2 Cal decided that someone must have used a curse on Mira- both on her body and mind- in order to alter her completely. Iylven use the word Aorr for magic (pronounced ike aura, but without the A on the end). There are nine elements of aorr: water, fire, earth, air, ice, plant, and three are energies: sun (healing / light), moon (draining / shadow), and absolute (a balance of sun and moon, they can use all energy’s properties). Dark aorr is apart of the powers of absolute, however, there was a ban on the practice of them centuries ago. Any and all found knowledge has been wiped out. So, someone has been doing some digging on cursed texts. The question is: who?

💙Episode 2 Part 2 One of Luarsha’s subordinates, Iris, arrives outside of Sylvia Rose’s. On the other end of the earpiece is Edann, but we’ll meet him in another episode.  Iris is the type to punch first, ask questions later. 

💙Episode 2 Part 3 Cal casually asks about Mira’s necklace to see if her memories have been altered. Mira is a bit put-off about the question; she recalls that the necklace is her birth mother’s, who dropped her off at an orphanage and never came back for her. 

💙Episode 2 Part 4 Mira shows Cal around the school after picking up his schedule from the main office. In math class, Cal shows some knowledge of very advanced calculous formulas, which causes the teacher take an interest in him. The late bell rings and, afraid of being late to their next class, Mira engages in premarital hand-holding with Cal.

💙Episode 2 Part 5 Cal is also shown to be good at science. He’s able to complete the lab for the day- to create slime- before the teacher can get through the instructions.  This episode originally dropped on Valentine’s day, so I thought it be cute if my OCs were in a scenario where clueless alien did something he thought was helpful for the human.

💙Episode 2 Part 6 The History teacher plays a movie for the class. During one of the more violent scenes, Cal experiences a panic attack. Mira asks the teacher if they can leave the classroom and they are given the go-ahead. Ailithyians- of all 9 races- possess no guns. They have their magic, blades, and bows, but no firearms were ever invented. Cal’s panic attack is triggered from an old trauma from childhood which we learn more about further into season. Essentially, seeing people injured in war caused his memory to resurface. 

💙Episode 2 Part 6 One of my favorite panels of the two together. Mira doesn’t judge him for his panic attack. She just sits there with him to show her support.  I could also argue this is the part where Cal first realizes that his relationship with Mira has changed. They were childhood friends in the past, but now that they are older and getting more mature, he begins to feel romantic attraction to her. This also makes him conflicted, because he can’t really tell her about why he likes her without revealing her past first.

💙Episode 2 Part 7 The next class period is lunch. Mira asks Cal if he would rather sit with his friends or continue following her around. Cal thinks about if his two friends- Aaron and Via- would be okay if he skipped out sitting with them. I like this panel too because I got to show a bit of the two’s personality in their chibi forms without introducing them just yet. Aaron is shown to be flirtatious. Also, that he flirts with everyone (he’s bi). Via is the more responsible one. And tsundere. Very tsundere.

That’s all for Episode 2. Mostly, I spent a lot of time setting up characters and their relationships with one another along with some teasers at future conflicts. I’m ngl, I get a little nervous being public about this, but at the same time, I’m not sharing anything that isn’t public info if you’re paying close attention.

Up until this month, return week always consisted of returning series getting 1st, 2nd or (MAYBE) 3rd (if really unlucky) on the front banner and included in a coin event. It was great promotion for series that otherwise receive very little promotion (like City of blank).

When I paused CoB, I was given the option to just use up my buffer or take a break. Breaks are always risky because we always lose a good chunk of our audience every time. However, return weeks became a great way to counter this unfortunate inevitability. So, I decided to take the break, being assured that CoB would be included in a return week.

Well, webtoon upheld their end and included it in return week. Unfortunately, it was the month they decided to stop promoting return week with top slot banners or a coin event (*unless you are one of their top series that already gets promoted regularly throughout the year anyway. Some of those got multiple days in the top banner).

Instead this month, we were just put in 4th-6th slot behind already heavily promoted series and put in a little collection at the bottom of the home page (that some series weren’t even included in). Plus no coin event.

A lot of people responded to me saying “I see cob in 4th slot. Looks like they heard us and decided to promote it!”

Guys. Anything beyond 3rd does nothing. Nobody is scrolling through the banner that long. For perspective, last return week, cob was in the 2nd slot for 2 days and got around 10k new subs. This time it barely got 2k.

Now to be clear, I wasn’t expecting a red carpet for this return. I did admittedly expect a small one for my last return because that was a season premiere and launched alongside the makeship plushies I assumed WT would want to market.

But for this return, I was being realistic. Ik it’s not a TOP series and it was just a mid-season break. I was just expecting the bare minimum of maybe a 2nd or 3rd banner and being included in a coin event like all the return weeks prior.

If I had know how much they were lowering the “bare minimum” I would have never paused my series. I wanna reiterate I had an option. I could have not paused and just used my buffer. Stressful, but I wouldn’t have lost my audience from pausing.

I can understand being 2nd or 3rd slot to a launch more popular series RETURN during return week, but my series (and every other series this return week) sat behind…

1. Heavily marketed series (not returning. Just a random episode!)

2. Launch (honesty should be first slot, even over the returns. Every launch deserves that 1 day on 1st banner)

The exception being a couple of (already heavily marketed) series that got lucky enough to be in 1st or 2nd slot for MULTIPLE days while the rest of us only got 1 in 4-6. :)

Not to mention the endless amount of readers who informed me they just never got any notification CoB was back.

So that is the situation. Honestly, CoB was the luckiest of the (neglected) return series because I have some amazing readers (like the person who made this post) who advocated for it + it was at the top of that return list that… gives no real reason to check it out cause there’s no coin event or anything.

I’ve kind shut my mouth for the time being until I receive some responses from WT if they have ANY intention of making up for shooting my series (aka MY LIVELIHOOD) in the knee like this, but this is the present situation. I can only hope WT has some plan to make up for this (as well as all the past neglect of it. Seriously now hard is it to throw it in a coin event w/ like 10 other series? I am not asking for a huge spotlight here).

CITY OF BLANK - IT DESERVES BETTER.

So it was implied recently by 66 (creator of City of Blank on Webtoons) on reddit that Webtoons had screwed over their recent return from a brief hiatus (one that they had arranged as they were moving and needed the time to focus on IRL stuff without deadlines looming over them, very valid). But it was confirmed in the episode description of their newest FP release:

So Webtoons has screwed over another creator in the advertising department. I don't want to point fingers, but we all know which series are constantly being prioritized in the banner reels while others are left buried to fend for themselves cough cough

Anyways, City of Blank is a webtoon that's been around for a loooong time. As in, Webtoons isn't even the first platform it's been hosted on, but this is the furthest it's come thanks to the Originals deal it got to be hosted exclusively on Webtoons. It's currently on its final season and while it got some brief amount of ad space at the premiere of its season, it since hasn't been given much ad space and even worst of all, not a single spot in the banner reel rotation since returning from its hiatus despite Webtoons promising 66 they would.

So now, unsurprisingly, City of Blank is struggling to be seen and read. It's a genuinely wonderful series with amazing thought-out writing (again this is a series that's been around for a while so you can tell the creator has put a lot of effort into refining the plot, which is a rarity on the platform these days) and the art is gorgeous and consistent, quite literally anime-quality.

Please, consider checking out City of Blank if you're looking for something new to read. It's a sci-fi series with loads of action, comedy, and character-driven subplots that delve into deeper topics like discrimination and social justice movements through a fantasy lens. If there's any series on the platform that's long overdue for recognition, attention, and opportunities for cool shit like printed books and TV adaptions, it's City of Blank.

Jedi survivor comes out TOMORROW! heres my current thoughts n shit

im excited. not exactly hyped as i could be as im more excited for totk coming out in a few weeks. but ik this game is gonna be awesome. ign and some other game critics rated this game suuuper high. the lowest rating so far is 81% on metacritic, which was bombed by one random whiny 50/100 review. so i think its safe to say its gonna be good lol

i saw another review and i didnt wanna read much for spoilery things, but i read the first 2 sentences which said they wanted to focus on the important quest but kept deviating to explore elsewhere, and said “that doesn’t feel very jedi knight.” but from the interviews i’ve read with cameron, the point he emphasized most was that these are trying times in the universe and we are going to see cal do unconventional things that aren’t what a classic jedi would do, because he can’t do that. plus it’s a video game, if you feel bad about doing side quests, then that’s your problem. games need extra content other than a main story (this was fallen order’s biggest flaw in my opinion).

i have a slight feeling the negative reviews are from people who aren’t exactly attached to the previous characters. a big part of fallen order that made it as fantastic of an experience as it was for me was that i immediately connected with the protagonist and other characters. their emotional journeys meant something to me, and it was a very emotionally impactful experience to see it play out as i progressed. watching cal come to term with his fears and dark past, he was able to reach a new level of strength needed to face darth vader and escape with his life. and while it’s not a dramatic end to the story, they end up back in square one, it’s still important. it’s easy to dream big and want to restore the jedi order. but finding these kids puts them at risk. when they reach the end of the story, they realize they should let the force decide the futures of the force sensitives, instead of deciding it for themselves. i believe cal’s mentality was along the lines of “i don’t want others to experience the same suffering i’ve been through because of my own actions.” and he has visions of himself turning to the dark side and having to kill what he sought out in the first place. the fear and likelihood of failure is too much of a risk, even if it’s the only option they have left.

the whole point of this series is how these characters are entering dark times where they need to make increasingly harder decisions. lines are blurring and survival is slimming. having some sort of attachment to these characters is important. who these characters are and what compels them to do what they do is vital to appreciating any story. so in short, anyone who’s giving an extra low rating probably didn’t understand it.. or care about it. i understand just wanting to play a game, but when reviewing something, you can’t ride off the plot because it didn’t spell out everything for you. im sure this game will also have a heavy deal of nuance, which we saw a lot of in andor as well (which gained the same sort of criticism. people not caring enough to fully understand. just wanting cool action sequences). and we know sw fans aren’t exactly the brightest sometimes😊

anyway im totally just rambling for the sake of making this post longer. i don’t have any predictions, i already know its gonna be good 🤷‍♀️

Howdy y’all, 🤠 again. Yes, I didn’t in fact die. I’m sorry though that I kept getting sidetracked and couldn’t submit this until now, my boss decided to keep dumping her work into my lap. So I just wanna preface this by stating that I’m going to try and say what I want to as coherent as possible, but I have pretty severe ADHD so I’m not always as easy to understand as I think I am in my head, and I often go off on tangents, over explain things and circle back to topics randomly without realizing. Im basically going to go over their relationship over the years as I said previously (I’m not gonna go into detail about every single scandal and shitty thing Juliet did over the years, because we’d be here all year. so I figure I won’t cover them here, but rather let people ask specific questions if they want to. Remember, I was present for pretty much everything so feel free to ask.😊), but I’m also going to do kind of a mini deep dive into Andy’s behavior and actions (because although the snakes will hit you with every excuse in the book, and tell you that you’re looking too far into things and that it doesn’t matter, it does. The way a person acts in general and towards people around them is very relevant when talking about someone’s health, happiness, and well-being.) To start off, let’s take it all the way back to the time before Juliet’s reign of terror, when Andy and Scout were still together. In all honesty from what I saw of them together (and I saw pretty much everything they posted, I’m only a year younger than Andy, and I was quite into him when he was on MySpace and such, and I always watched anything with him and Scout together because they were fucking adorable lol) they had a really healthy relationship. Not once did I get weird vibes from them. The way Andy acted toward and with Scout, you could tell they really loved each other and were happy together. They had nothing to prove. It just was normal. (For any of you who are younger, or didn’t come into the picture until Andy was already post-scout and would like to see some videos of them together, you could generally search on YouTube for it, but also there’s a specific channel on there called like bring the milk tea or something that has videos of old Andy blogs and also Andy and scout on stickam and such. Worth a look if you’re curious) They weren’t constantly all over each other like possessive pack dogs *ahem Juliet ahem* and whenever Andy mentioned scout he didn’t need to shower her in compliments. They both seemed very secure in both themselves and the relationship. Super cute. Initially when they broke up it seemed quite odd. I didn’t really expect it. It got even weirder when he states that he and Juliet are together. It didn’t feel like they fit together at all (and no I’m not talking about from a fame or success perspective. At least not yet lol) As I’ve said I got bad vibes from Juliet right from the get go. Andy already seemed to be acting not like himself. (Also snakeys have argued that it’s just that he’s more mature now and that’s why he acts nervous and constantly looks Ike he wants to die. 🙄 maturity doesn’t mean losing your fucking personality and being unhappy most of the time. Jesus Christ.) it seemed like they got possessive of each other and constantly needed to show people how in love they were. Pictures, videos, and fucking public love paragraphs to show they are, in fact, in a super real relationship and they love each other. It also felt like Andy’s family was in on this whole weird charade.They (Chris honestly) started to defend her degenerate behavior and attack anyone who had even a whisper of negative things to say about her or their relationship. It was like watching a group of awkward, pretty mediocre actors put on a play about them being together. (I’ve hit the text limit now, but there will be more that I will write just after I submit this one though, fear not haha. N, you can either post this now or wait until I submit the rest, it’s up to you.) 1 / ? -🤠

A/N: i was here for a lot of it as well so i do remember some of this. although i did join the fandom shortly after him and juliet got together (i joined like around the time she was on the voice) i literally remember hoping that him and scout would get back together bc juliet just rubbed me the wrong way and i didn't know why at the time. & side note i actually do recommend people go look at old videos of andy and scout they were really adorable. there is this one video of them singing (i think a carrie underwood song lol) in the car and it's really cute. but yeah just bc he's older doesn't mean his whole entire personality changes. you can be any age and act however you want. i could even use jenna marbles & julien solomita (a youtube couple) as an example, they've been together for i think like 8 or 9 years and are about the same age as A&J (julien being around andy's age & jenna around juliet's age) & although they can have mature adult conversations and all of that, they still act like idiots and joke around together. neither of them look uncomfortable or are afraid of saying certain things like andy is around juliet. so andy aging doesn't mean shit in regards to his personality doing a 180.

🤠okay, so part two here we go. (Also I apologize if I get the chronological order of anything I talk about incorrect, I’m a bit scattered sometimes and the next ask I make will be the one where I talk about the domestic abuse and I tend to get quite heated, which only makes my brain function worse lol) so the point at which Andy was trying to get fans to go vote for/ support Juliet when she was on the voice seemed really fishy. I’m all for supporting the work of the people you love, but it’s kinda strange how hard Andy was pushing this at the time. Too hard in my opinion. I’m obviously aware that it was helpful in the end and he more or less got what he was asking for. But it was like he absolutely needed people to vote for her. As if he would get in trouble if they didn’t. So around 2012 or 2013 it felt like things really went down the shitter from there and just got progressively worse. (I never knew why for the longest time, but after they revealed that Vegas wedding that happened in about that time frame, it made a lot of sense.) Andy’s behavior began to change towards his fans. There are a lot of accounts of this happening from fans themselves and a lot of people said that 1. It was worse with Juliet around, and 2. a lot of the time it would happen towards females especially. ( I think more towards the “pretty” fans but don’t count me on that, I don’t know for sure.) This was completely night and day. Especially coming from the same man who used to always defend his fans and once stated something along the lines of he would never have a crazy or awkward fan story because he loves and is grateful for all of his fans and he won’t get upset if they’re just really excited. I would understand if these fans crossed the line in some way (like the later incident of fans finding his address and harassing them, which is unacceptable no matter who the people are) but from most if not all of the fan stories I’ve heard, they didn’t. They were being respectful and didn’t do anything to warrant this happening to them besides showing up. Which brings me to my next point, a lot of these negative experiences were caused by Juliet. Either she was the one being mean to people, she was causing Andy to be mean to people on her behalf, or her presence was upsetting Andy to the point that he was angry and started being rude and irritable. What scares me the most are the accounts of Andy having a whole Jekyll and Hyde thing, depending on weather or not Juliet was present. Happy when he’s free of her and miserable when he isn’t. In videos of him where Juliet is behind the camera he always seems nervous and strange. Like he’s afraid to mess up. That’s fucking alarming to say the least. You would think that the last thing one would want to do if another person brings them this much anger, stress, and anxiety, the LAST thing they would want to do is fucking marry them. Right? He literally started barely smiling at one point and really doesn’t anymore. I mean for Christ’s sake look at his wedding photos. What’s suppose to be one of the happiest moments of your life and to quote another anon with a different ask, he looks like he’s being dragged to the gallows. (And I get really fucking Angry honestly when snakeys tries to pass it off as “oh he’s awkward he doesn’t know how to smile” or “omg he’s being dramatic for the aesthetics” in some pictures, yes. But why the fuck would you look like that in pictures with the “love of your life” who you now regularly write cringy paragraphs publicly professing your love and complete adoration for? Andy knows how to smile genuinely. Ffs he used to. He smiled genuinely when he was a kid, he smiled genuinely with scout, and he smiled genuinely when Juliet wasn’t around. He doesn’t smile when she is there, and if he does, it is pretty much always visibly fake.) So I may backtrack a little later, but right now I want to talk about the fact that Juliet IS an abuser. More specifically, the plane incident. (Word limit. TBC.) 2 / ? -🤠

A/N: yes. 100%. when it comes to the wedding photos i will never understand people (specifically snakeys) writing off his behavior as him "just being dramatic for the aesthetics". is that something he would do in photoshoots? yeah. is it something he may do on stage? sure. something he would do in an interview? maybe. but candid shots of him on one of the "happiest days of his life"? wtf no. & idk why people think that.

🤠 Just before I start, again, with the pictures, I really don’t think that Andy is enough of a self absorbed egotistical dick that he would actually sit there and put on the whole “miserable tough guy” act in every fucking photo he takes. Ah yes, the infamous plane incident. So straight up, Juliet exposed herself as an abuser, and brought out every bullshit excuse in the book (and made Andy go along with them) to try to cover it up. 1. She was drunk. Honestly this is total bullshit. I say this same thing when people defend cheating or any other degenerate behavior with the excuse of intoxication and I will say it now. Being drunk does not make you a different fucking person. It does not change the thoughts in your head. What it does do is impair your ability to make decisions and judgement skills in general. It’s the same reason why people drive drunk. It’s routine. Its what they would normally do. And because they’re drunk, they can’t see any reason why they shouldn’t do that. Juliet gets drunk, she and Andy fight, she wants to hit him, and because she’s drunk she doesn’t think that she shouldn’t fucking put her hands on him. 2. She hit him in “self defense” and he broke her ribs.(There’s several points I have debunking this) first of all let’s get this out of the way, no one on that plane (including the very real witness who just so happened to be an adult film actress (I think?) who you so love to discount because of it) saw him strike her or even touch her at any time. Two, you are in fucking airplane seats sitting right the fuck next to each other with an armrest in between. It would be pretty fucking hard to break your ribs unless they were made of actual glass, or Andy’s real name is Bruce fucking banner. Bones are surprisingly strong and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that it’d be damn near impossible for him to do that to you, which brings me to three, if he had broken your ribs you would not be fucking standing up, thrashing around, whining like a little bitch, and oh by the way, continuing to abuse your husband for the second time on that flight. Four, you had a miscarriage. (When I was trying to conceive with my husband it was very difficult. I had two miscarriages before I finally had my son. I’m fully aware of how devastating having one is.) which is why if you are not lying (which I fully believe that Juliet would stoop that low just to get sympathy, especially with this big of a scandal. But I don’t actually have proof of this so I will say that it is just speculation on my part) I don’t fucking care. I am not unsympathetic to her if this did actually happen as I said, however, You do not get to make any excuse for putting your hands on another person out of anger. Ever. I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what kind of stress you are under, I don’t care if you are inebriated in any way and I sure as hell don’t care what the fuck you have between your legs. You do not hurt anyone. Point blank period. Five. You are a woman, you can’t hurt him. This one, actually enrages me. We all know your crusty ass pulled this one out (and threw around trump supporters a few times for good measure) because you know damn well how society and the media views and deals with abusive women. Women can abuse. Women who are shorter or weaker than their target can abuse. The fact that there are people who either don’t know that or don’t agree with that is absolutely baffling. Six. The same (I believe) porn actress. Literally saw you beating your own face with the restraints you had to be put in (which by the way flight attendants only ever use restraints as an absolute last resort when someone becomes a danger to the others on board, so she had to be acting absolutely deranged) to give yourself a bloody nose to claim Andy hit you. Then you proceed to act like a child and tell Andy to call your fucking dad. (Which kinda proves that whole Scientology thing honestly) what in the hell. I stg as long as I am breathing I will never let this go. This is actual fucking domestic abuse. (Word limit TBC.) 3 / ? -🤠

A/N: yeah her hitting him "bc she was drunk" was never a good excuse not only for the reasons you mentioned but, also bc let's be real at no point are you ever going to get served enough alcohol on a plane to make you that drunk i don't care what anyone says. also when it comes to the excuse of him "breaking her ribs" does she forget that andy actually did break his ribs a while ago? i think she even visited him when he was recovering so she should know what kind of pain he was in. & if he actually broke her ribs, there's no way she would have even been able to stand bc i know andy sure wasn't able to. he said it was one of the most painful things he's experienced. (i don't think i need to comment on the rest of this. it would just be redundant. you hit the nail on the head with that.)

🤠 I don’t care if it happened just that one time ore more likely is an everyday occurrence. Abuse is abuse and should never be tolerated. Kind of getting away from the plane thing. Andy always seems, as it’s been said on here before, afraid to mess up. Like he might mess up, and make her mad. A common behavioral pattern in abuse victims. He also at this point and for a decent amount of time before, doesn’t seem like he loves her anymore. Like he keeps up appearances and pretends, but it’s like it’s a job he’s forced to do. He’s tired and burnt out but was probably manipulated into staying and juliet is probably clinging for dear life. Also I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks this, but I swear, the veganism and sobering up was just a cover up, most likely formed by either Juliet herself or her fucked up family, after the plane incident to hide their tracks and regain some public favor (because you know, if you advocate for animal rights then you can’t abuse your husband 🙃) Andy never gave a shit before though. Even though it was unhealthy he loved to drink and smoke and was very outspoken about that. And he used to never give a fuck about eating meat or consuming animal products like leather. I mean they’re still selling leather goods ffs. I would get having minor fuck ups because you don’t know any better, but it’s fucking leather. And now Andy is unhealthy and miserable as ever, but the culprit is malnourishment and Juliet rather than cigs, alcohol, and Juliet. My final thoughts: I do definitely believe in the Scientology theory, but if not that than I definitely believe that Andy was and is being manipulated for his fame. On several occasions it really looked like they broke up, including the time when they did, and then said it was a joke. It really doesn’t feel normal. Also, Juliet doesn’t really care about Andy that much. She never wears her wedding ring, she sells all their shit, including sentimental items, and now that she’s gained more popularity from being with him, suddenly doesn’t want to put him in her bio or write him the same creepy ass paragraphs or anything. It’s fucked up how shes so keen to say she did it all herself when really she’s been riding dick for fame since before she even met Andy. It also always kinda seemed to me that Amy was kind of uncomfortable around Juliet. We all know that Chris loves to kiss her ass night and day (most likely to do with the Scientology thing “if” it’s true), but Juliet and Amy always seemed to have a weird relationship like it was tense and forced. Also I just want to mention the time that Juliet talked about screaming at the woman over what I believe was a game night and brushed it off as being competitive and no one gave damn. Fucked up. To finish off this already way too long little series, I think Andy is a very vulnerable insecure person who got manipulated by several people (not just Juliet) some of whom he probably really trusted, and they helped to get him in Juliet’s (equally if not more insecure) hands so she could hurt him as she pleases. I truly hope that even now both he, and his parents (even though Chris really grinds my gears) can get out of this whole shit show, relatively unscathed. Chrome Callout post.

relax this is just my love hate relationship with chromes writing and potential. spoiler, it ends with all the love... hate is only in the middle. 

My absolute favorite thing in fanfics is Chromes characterization. Like we all know Chrome is completely aware that Mukuro and co need a reoccurring dose of Valium and a therapist willing to do illegal things in order to lower their sadistic points to ”kind of disturbing but tolerable”. Or at least we hope she does even though she proves to us again and again that she’s not phased by it in the slightest and might actually be just as bad. TYL and she’s still running around helping them do god knows what. She follows them on this massacre pridefully, she “believes in” them ( its sweet actually. They’re what she thinks of when Mukuro asks what she believes in and makes a young kokuyo gang.)

In fanfics when people write her to be a double edge sword it’s hilarious, and it should’ve been the character depicted in the Anime and manga instead. But I guess if she hadn’t been the quiet, breathy & compliant 14 year old people wouldn’t have morphed her into the fanon I enjoy now. Here’s some stuff i love and HC abt Chrome  and the things I absolutely hated.  

1. When she actually speaks not just when spoken to. She voices her concerns although she has no intent of not doing what’s asked of her. Who knew she could speak and still be the obedient gang member Mukuro trusts her to be. And when she does this it’s funny. She is the conscience he buries underneath disgust and amusement for chaos, but that’s not her entire character. She’s not reduced to the mom friend either because of this, she’s too passive on the matter. She indulges/Enables it just the same as Chikusa or Ken, although she knows better meanwhile the thought never occurs to them. To summarize :

2. She’s unhinged and the best part is nobody knows even though it’s blatantly obvious. She may not have the same bloodlust or violent disposition as her peers but there are other ways to showcase this. To Allow Mukuro the leader of this little fearsome Five-some to possess you whenever he feels like and witness whatever horrors he decides to inflict upon someone that day means she’s accepting of literally everything he does. She never resists or expresses distaste/fear for him or anything he does. We assume she would in some capacity because she was depicted as this wide eyed innocent girl trying her best to repay the man that got her to join a gang under the guise of a found family. She quite literally signed up for guts n glory. She knew this and never had second thoughts. Mind you she doesn’t share the same hatred for the mafia as the boys, theirs is blind hatred regardless of who you are. Hers is through them, they are her looking glass rightfully so, so if they say it then their word is law. I’m not sure about you but I would definitely be mindful of the girl who was raised semi normal and willingly turned into a killer for Mukuro of all people. They’re killing adults not shaking them up, they aren’t Tsuna and his friends they finish the job when necessary. The body count is unimaginable. She is just as loyal as Ken and Chikusa and would probably strike you where you stand for speaking ill of him. (She wouldn’t but would definitely be opposed to whatever you’re saying, unless it’s name calling. He takes no offense to that and welcomes it in fact.)

3. The fact that she’s a person apart from Mukuro (physically speaking.) and the Vongola team at all is a blessing in few fics. Although she was made to stand in for Mukuro, when he is released it’s not necessary hence him pushing her to be apart from him and his duties. He did this in the future as well when he possessed Guidio Greco no longer using chrome which lets us know she was successful in becoming a useful comrade and not just a vessel and vongola stand in. She had to otherwise he would’ve left her alone whether she was keeping his Vongola ring warm or not. She is just as aloof as Hibari, always off with her own people only engaging when it’s asked of her. I adore when people keep that in mind and don’t lump her with following behind the vongola as if she were one of them. She shows up for them when asked but her main focus is ultimately committing felonies with Ken and Chikusa per Mukuro’s orders. let her be with the kokuyo gang and let her contribute in the way she’s meant to as a fighter. figure her out give her something cool 

 ik that’s hard considering what we got in the manga. warning things i hate ahead 

what we got in the Anime and Manga: 

so we know Chromes entire purpose was to be Rokudo Mukuro’s stand in, while holding the Vongola ring he soon takes back she is just the girl that is able to get him to come fight their battles when necessary. The Anime and Manga rarely let Chrome fend for herself. We all knew he was coming the second it got serious. By giving chrome that ring she ended up being the one thing to keep him loyal to his contract with being their guardian. If she’s in danger he comes and saves her, the Vongola put her in danger because he will show up and do his job it’s like a rat trap. She is not meant to be a Vongola guardian but more like a Mukuro whistle. They never openly admit it but in the show they will expect/ask her to do things that her track record doesn’t imply she can do and just silently expect Mukuro to show up like always. SKSJDWDN they’ll be like “oh yeah call the girl who passed out and all her organs disappeared I believe in her to do this job even though i’ve never seen her make it to the end of a fight ever not worried at all” sksksjjd They never actually expect chrome to do a job they expect her to go there and manage to get Mukuro to come out and play and we should acknowledge it was just an unspoken thing.  Now I know that despite what I just implied about her not being that great a fighter but just good enough there are two comments made in all 400 chapters that are supposed to negate this.  

Mammon says her illusions are powerful just not enough to fool him , and reborn says she could turn the tide if she were to fight against Mukuro but with confidence, these mean nothing to me because amano throws in so many useless comments like this and then fails to develop it further to make it believable.  and she made powerful characters make note of this so it would be non negotiable and we would just take it at face value because its them but hello ?? ofc we want to see it just like we had to see Tsuna grow before we even considered taking him seriously. hell Dino got a quicker rise to his title than chrome bc its that easy to say oh he can come into his own when needed they just never meant to do it for chrome. 

it’s so irritating when they try to say she’s powerful or could be but give no actual footing for anyone to take those comments seriously when they make her pass out for thirty chapters after doing the bare minimum.

let chrome win on her own not just start strong then step out of the way then have some character say “no really she could be powerful we aren’t going to show you though” .  

when she helped them sneak in the base on her own and even makes those illusions of them fighting we should have gotten more of that!!! 

literally every character is fighting the funeral wreaths and chrome is running in the woods out of breath...even Lambo got to fight. 

you made her sit out of the rep battle to focus on making organs like that wasn’t something she already accomplished in the future and suddenly can’t do anymore ?.....

Chrome finally makes one fighting decision and its to make a mist forcefield that’s dangerous but hell yeah we think she will finally pull through with something powerful and prove herself and then they have mukuro come in a panel later saying “your flames are far too weak to do that I will make it better and help you not die” BYE  that was a perfect time to have her come in to her own seeing as she was powerful and confident enough to initiate it in the first place. 

breaking the barrier daemon spade makes * chefs kiss * give me more 

 when they’re not blindly robbing chrome of character development  she’s just getting kidnapped, passing out  or helping them with small things like making a fake Yamamoto for a party or sneaking in the base with illusions to disguise them. Hello she’s training under mukuro right ??? why did we ever get to see her get stronger each fight and have them say ‘she’s learning quick” instead. 

enough abt what we got, back to what I’ve managed to make out of the scraps we were given..

4. Mukuro is the only one who reassures that she actually is a fighter and she eventually grows to be a good one bc of this and you should write about that dynamic and why it exists more. this one is long.

 the whole dynamic I was referring to exploring is the one where Mukuro and chrome are meant to be equals. He meets this girl whose been neglected and left for dead, another kid messed up by adults neglectful selfish behavior. she willingly follows the boy who is plagued by the same demons and made a small group dedicated to getting revenge for it.  Mukuro & Chrome know they’re two sides of the same coin. he is anger and she is acceptance. He probably finds it amusing she isn’t as angry as them wants to draw it out of her  where as chrome wants to pull out the peace that comes with moving on once you’re in a better place. the girl is so happy to not be near her mom and grateful for this little family while the boys are quite literally holding a grudge against the world.  and like none of them even see it the way she does but she wants them to.  Mukuro and chrome didn’t go through the same things but it doesn’t matter to either of them because its the same story, nobody loved or valued them enough to protect them. In the end chrome will learn to be angry abt things that happen and use that to find a will to fight for something and Mukuro will learn to be at peace because they’re not in that lab anymore and those people are gone from their life. as fighters they’re so important to each others balance Mukuro’s rage cannot be left to be so blind and hers unattended and i know it’s supposed to be Tsuna that cleans his soul but i think chrome definitely plays a more active role in that.  I think he sees a better him in her, he makes her his second gives her his name because she’s the good he knows he can never fully be. she posses a peace he’s not hopeful enough to believe he can achieve or want and ultimately it will make her far more capable of the change he wants. in believing this it means he also believes she will be just as powerful as him with the right training. he’s literally training his demise and her name is Chrome. he wont take over a (mafia) world he wants her to save.  we all know he’s like annoyingly stupid when it comes to showing his emotions, he rather pretend he’s sending you to die when he’s quite literally ushering you to what he thinks is safe and sacrificing himself. so I can totally see him being like  “okay Tsuna might really change the mafia and I want to see that but I've already dug my own grave here's a better newer me that will be way easier to accept than me turning over a new leaf 40 dead families later.” 

5. in the future Hibari is much more happy to help and be around because he knows what a powerful fighter Tsuna turns out to be, i think this is the exact same reason why he goes and helps chrome save herself. Kyoya knows and possibly even respects future chrome enough to save her when she’s at her weakest which he usually detests. Chrome grows to be much more in the future and that’s exactly why he even gives this sick chrome a push. everyone likes to think it’s a Mukuro thing for him but what if it actually is a chrome thing. in the show he’s never been present to witness her show any kind of power so we can only assume that at some point he saw her in action. 

  6. it’s implied in the future that Mukuro fights alongside her, he views her as more than just a vessel and doesn’t baby her in the slightest when he pushes her to become her own being. I won’t call it respect per say but he doesn’t look at her as a doll even though that’s the part she played for him. He still trains her the way he eventually does Fran. We all know he just wants Mini Mukuros to aid him in his endeavors but the fact that he chooses her says a lot about how she’s meant to be viewed. He also chooses a nine year old brat with an apple hat but hey he must see something everyone else doesn’t until he’s done with them seeing as Fran was kidnapped by the freaking Varia once Mukuro’s teachings were for the most part implemented. “Oh you learned under Mukuro ? We can’t have Mukuro you need to join us immediately” (I’ve just realized Mukuro gave the vongola their strongest mist guardians all while claiming to hate them. Funny man). imagine how powerful Chrome gets, even better when Mukuro is actually there in the flesh to teach her where as Fran got some illusionary version of him. WRITE ABOUT IT. 

7. for the love of god give that girl her own fighting style. yamamoto has his sword gokudera is literally baby genius ryohei is a boxer and hibari has like the most random weapon ever. go crazy. i love it when chrome isn’t pulling a trident from her bag. because she’s not mukuro anymore. she’s a reticent mist guardian, compliment that.  Mukuros trident has his own history with him. give her some history of her own.    

in my fic Chrome uses a scythe and tears through reality with it. 

reason:  because she is a grim reaper in her own right. she rose from the dead and is showing up to collect the souls of the wicked. a silent but fearsome person. 

her style ? :  personally I like to believe chrome dabbles in profiling, hear me out. Her parents were neglectful and in turn she really has little experience with relationships in general, i think her curiosity would lead her to constantly study peoples relationships and behaviors and see how they affect her target. aka she fights by showing up getting in your head and haunting you with your own past because even if they see through it damn what a nasty wound or insecurity to bring up in the form of a hell loop illusion. this also ties into her being Mukuro 2.0 he’s known to just be eerily in the know of everything going on even when he’s not there. this would be a great way of her matching that aspect of him and possibly surpassing it.

In alphabetical order because that fuckin song “50 nifty United States” has been stuck in my head since fourth grade.

Arizona: Phoenix is hot. Can’t believe y’all choose to live in a place that gets haboobs. Saw Sen. John McCain in the airport. I feel that sums up the state well. 4/10

California: as a resident of the state of Oregon, I’m legally required to say fuck California😌 unless anyone else talking shit about Cali and then we got your back😤 SoCal vs San Fran vs Northern Cal are totally different worlds though. 7/10

Colorado: damn idk how y’all breathe there, them air is thin. But really pretty out there! 7/10

Connecticut: oh my god fuck New Haven. And Stamford, and Hartford, and— Yknow what? Let’s just toss the whole state into the Sound. For real, traffic is the WORST here and I’m so sorry that y’all gotta live like that. 3/10

Hawaii: okay pineapple farms are cool. Tbh I just feel really bad for how much mainlander/tourist bs all the islanders put up with. Ik price of living is v high and keeps going up. That said I did love Hawaii... although I was stung by a jellyfish. Hate those little bastards. 8/10 for wonderful people and nature

Idaho: as an Oregonian I’m required to also say fuck Idaho 😝 you da hoes. Okay for real tho southern Idaho has become v white white and kinda scary tbh. The northern part of the state is pretty chill tho. Also Oreida kettle chips are partly made in Idaho so I gotta give you half credit for that. 4/10

Illinois: at least you’re not Indiana. 4/10.

Indiana: I never want to step foot in Gary, Indiana again in my life. (Passed a Mack truck hauling a race car to Indy 500 though so that was cool.) 2/10

Iowa: I almost moved here. I’m so glad I didn’t. Why are the Quad Cities actually a group of five towns? I hate that. Also the roads were all cement, felt like driving on a sidewalk. Was also interesting because the second we got out of the city proper, it was just... corn fields everywhere. 2/10 y’all raising children of the corn.

Kentucky: I really don’t have anything to say about Kentucky. I thought the trees were pretty? 5/10 yeah idk

Maine: my relative has totaled two cars by hitting moose in Maine. Maine scares me. Or rather, the moose do. Also the lobster roll hype is real. And the coast truly is beautiful. 8/10 but an extra point for the moose bc I hate that relative so 9/10

Maryland: oh god Baltimore. Also I’m blaming you for the DC traffic because it’s on the land you gifted them. 3/10

Massachusetts: Patriots fans are the worst NFL fans (the racism is real, especially after fans burned the jerseys of Black players who knelt for the anthem). Liking Dunkin’ Donuts is not a personality trait. The North End in Boston is truly the best place to get pizza in the entire country. Western Mass is not the same state. And the Cape Cod bridges give me nightmares. 5/10 but cause I had to pay taxes two years and it really is Taxachusetts, knocking it down to 4/10

Michigan: it’s a lot bigger than I initially thought. 5/10

Minnesota: it’s Canada but in the US. Pretty driving through the southern part. Cops suck tho. 5/10

Montana: okay Montana is downright gorgeous. (Except Billings. Sorry, Billings.) I must include a photo. I wanna get a cabin here and just exist. 8/10

New Hampshire: can’t decide if it hates Massachusetts or wants to be Massachusetts. All it knows is that it’s better than Vermont. Which... y’know, valid. (If you wanna see NH culture watch North Woods Law tbh). 4/10

New Jersey: why are there so many goddamn highways in this state? Also there are more places to weekend trip than the Shore or the Poconos. Although you do have people pump gas for you just like Oregon, so... that’s valid. Things my friends have added: Newark airport is cursed (valid), the jughandles are nightmares (true), pork roll/Taylor Ham is good and so are bagels and New Jersey pizza (allergic so idk), and everyone is split on whether the shore is actually decent or not 😂 I give it a 3.5/10 out of spite

New York: NYC is fun, Upstate is MASSIVE but really beautiful. Long Island is... yeah I don’t have anything nice to say about Long Island. 8/10 For NYC, 6/10 for Upstate, -2/10 for Long Island, gives us an average of 6/10

North Carolina: very good peaches. Isn’t South Carolina. Keep it up👍🏽 6/10

Ohio: I already told y’all how I feel about this flat ass boring state. I feel no need to slander it any more lmao. 3/10

Oregon: she flies with her own wings, mi amor🥰 to list all the reasons I like Oregon (and the issues too bc it ain’t perfect), I would need a whole other post. I’ll just leave you with this picture I took of Mt. Hood, the queen of our Cascades. 11/10

Pennsylvania: so apparently PN is three states hiding in a trench coat like NY. There’s upstate, philly and Pittsburg. Personally I think they’re just trying too hard and wanna get the same recognition as NY. Meh. 5/10

Rhode Island: THIS FUCKIN SHAM OF A STATE Just merge it with Connecticut and be done with it!! It’s tiny. Providence sucks. There’s nothing unique about this state that you can’t find in Southern Mass (except MA has cheaper taxes so y’all come to work and shop in MA anyways smh). Also the fingers are really annoying to drive down to get to some beach areas haha. 2/10 you’re barely better than Delaware.

South Carolina: my Black father was invited to a party celebrating General Robert E Lee’s birthday. So... 0/10

South Dakota: very gorgeous, didn’t realize the Missouri River went this far west, but VERY LARGE. I mean it looks big on a map but then you get there and... yeah. No speed limit on highways is a great time though. And the Badlands have mountain goats! 6/10 bc while pretty, living there seems really hard. (Picture is me in the Badlands).

Texas: gave us Juneteenth and Beyoncé and JJ Watts. Thank you Texas. But is very big, got independence from Mexico to keep slavery (yikes), is like 97% private land (yikes) and is like the second or third largest state. Very big. That said, everyone I’ve ever met from Texas is lovely. 6/10.

Utah: Other than Idaho, this is the whitest state I’ve been to. Or it feels that way. Like a, the people crossed to the other side of the street and held their bags because I’m brown, state. And I don’t ski so I can’t even say that’s a good thing (I fell off the ski lift the one time I went, long story). Yeah 0/10.

Vermont: wants to be New Hampshire or Canada and can’t decide which. So it’s just kinda there. Pretty hills though. 3/10

Virginia: let’s be real we all forget that Virginia exists west of Richmond. Nova is a beauracratic and traffic nightmare and half our neighbors had to pass security clearance checks. Hampton Roads and beach area is a tourist and mosquito nightmare. But there were dolphins and I made snowmen on the beach. Good times. 6.7/10

Washington: again, legally required as an Oregon resident to say fuck Washington because it’s all your fault we now are getting a toll on the I-5 border. But you’re better than California. And the Sound is really cool for fishing, love Wicked Tuna. And the fish market. Best salmon I’ve had. Eastern Washington... y’all got Spokane but the rest is kinda sparse. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 8/10

Wisconsin: cheese is actually good. Again, pretty state, much larger than I initially thought. 7/10

Wyoming: this was the ONLY STATE I lost cell service in when diriving cross country. Kinda surprised it wasn’t Montana, but no, it was Wyoming. Views are gorgeous though so I was distracted either way. 4/10

Favorite thing about season 3: so many things! The fact that we didn’t know anything about bel!even for 2 weeks straight and then this bleached haired kid appeared, looking like THAT, and stole both ours and Robbe’s heart. Of course the mural, like they really did that! The flatshare dynamics and the Willems’ chemistry. The soundtrack which I still listen to every single day and so so much more...

Favorite clip: i love that there doesn’t exist a wrong answer for this one, every single clip is a masterpiece on itself. I’m just going to say that one clip with Robbe in it lol.

Favorite scene: Sander looking at Robbe and that little smile (and snort) while the doors of the elevator are opening and that floating over in the tunnel scene and them being finally free and so happy for the first time in forever, together. Also maandag 11:03 and the drawings going over in the real scenes.

Favorite shot: every single shot of their hands, like vrijdag 21:21, maandag 11:03, dinsdag 07:27, vrijdag 22:53 when Sander is caressing Robbe’s neck :’)) If when we’re finally going to get that scene of Sobbe holding hands, I will scream and die in the process.

Favorite kiss that Robbe initiates: I was watching the cuddle clip today and I couldn’t stop watching the kiss after Sander said “some vergeet ik hoe jong gij zijt”. Like, Robbe’s smile and him just staring at Sander’s eyes and lips before leaning in. And ahh that little pause while realizing how happy he is before leaning back in again. Also the one of dinsdag 07:27 where Robbe is making sure to Sander that he isn’t going anywhere, that whole clip is just so soft and I love it.

Favorite kiss that Sander initiates: the one in the “sinterklaas clip” I mean, he kept Robbe hanging !2! times in less than a minute long, because he first had to put his shoe. And the moment that he decorated his boyfriend’s shoe himself, he couldn’t wait another second to kiss him and drag him to his room, love it!

Favorite Robbe dialogue: gonna say the one line which wtfock decided to not put subs for. Maandag 11:03, Robbe: “ik heb u zo gemist” the way I screamed when I found out about that and it was the only thing that Sander had to hear in that moment. But like, every single sentence that Robbe said in this clip was just pure perfection.

Favorite Sander dialogue: “Nergens zo gelukkig als wij” I mean, have you seen his smile? Did you see how insanely happy he was in that exact moment... that shot of Sander while him saying that line just owns my heart.

Favorite hug: Robbe’s and Milan’s hug after you know what happened. It makes me cry every single time and you can feel so many emotions.

Favorite 21:21: vrijdag 21:21 is such a masterpiece and it owns my heart. It’s so aesthetically pleasing to look at, like the orange colors are my favorites. And Sander saying “Gij en ik, 💯 procent voor altijd, in elk universum”, I’m not crying, you are. The way you could feel every emotion without them even saying anything and when they let go completely and get lost in each other... and the moment they fell out of the bed with the Spider-Man kiss following, yeah...

Favorite scene x song pair: their first date and two men in love, no thoughts, only full of emotions.

Favorite banter on Instagram: okay this is such a hard one and I can’t choose again oops! Of course the discussion about the use of emojis and Robbe telling Sander to go to sleep lol, that was just iconic! Also Robbe saying that Sander is his fetish, no matter what his hair looks like and I mean same lol. But they also bonded quite some times under posts of Sander’s drawings. Like the two during lockdown... Sander drawing his own face so Robbe can still have him close 🥺 and Sander saying “miss his touch” and Robbe “ik tel de dagen af” like I felt that! And omg omg the drawing of Robbe from woensdag 21:21 and Robbe’s comment “if you say swim, I’ll swim with you” sksiskis I got that reference.

So I started the hogwarts au like i dunno, 3 weeks ago? And i wasnt like, sure into dsmp lore by then. I like threw myself into the mcyt fandom shdhs.

I think I was like, kinda in it, finally understanding how to keep up with the lore, but only really paid attention to the ccs I already knew about (the dteam, wilbur and tommy, some others).

So when I made the hogwarts au I like, it was still good. But because I'm me i did it the way i wanted, and decided to center the au mostly around the charas i knew. Idk if i mentioned it anywhere but i made a list of like, the charas i cared about most to least.

The ones near the top were the ones I knew the most about, so I decided to put a list of like 10ish of the ccs i knew the most about and only went into the complicated lore (what their wands were, what their pets were, their patronuses, etc) for those ccs

But heres the problem

Now more stuff has been added to the dsmp, and I'm finally caught up with lore so I'm like, actively here now. I joined around like, ok so I first heard of and was looking at the smp when the s1 finale happened. Then I spent maybe like 2 weeks figuring shit out? I think i started actively watching Tommy's streams (he was the only one i watched at first besides george, now i still mostly do tommy and techno but i also love watching Karl's streams, ranboos, but the rest of the lore is a lil hard for me to keep up with lol @starwither on tumblr is my savior) like, maybe a week before i made the hog au. Ok I'll be honest i dont remember the exact timeline, but luckily for you it's not relevant at all

So the problem is, over the past 3 weeks I got into the lore officially sticking with the streams, exploring different characters, and actually looking at the rest of the streamers instead of the main ones I lister previously

So now, like, for example I did not know who fundy was at all. I had heard of quackity and realized he was super relevant to the schlatt arc cause I think I was catching up to that at the time so he was on the lsit, but I didnt know shit about fundy besides that he was Wilbur's son in canon so I was like "ok I'll make him younger than will but idk him so I wont put him in the list"

But now I've watched more shit and like--- I'm love him🥺🥺🥺

But I already went and added all the random facts and itll be so much work to add fundy and ranboo and the ppl I know better now that i think will be more involved in the stories cause ik them better

Like captain puffy I decided to make a prefect literally last second so thered be 2 relevant chara 5th year prefects, but like, that was a guess I havent seen a single stream of hers. I'm thinking I'm gonna go through mcc vods of diff teams to try and knock off 2 stones at once (learning charas AND deciding their strengths and weaknesses in the hcc and quidditch n stuff)

Last night I went and finally did quidditch shit (I dont know how quidditch works I had to do research shdhshd idk shit) and I didnt have enough charas

I based it on rocket spleef (yall dont even know this yet my tumblr followers yall get sneak peek) and so I had like, maybe 10 charas I wanted for sure on teams. Then I had like 4ish that didnt do mcc but i thought i wanted them on a team (example: minx)

And that sounds like a lot yeah

Then I realized that it equals out to like 3 members per house and theres supposed to be 7----

So I kinda bsed the rest of the team

I went to the list of caring most to least, looked at the least section cause that's streamers that I dont know ANYTHING ABOUT but they're still current mcytbers/streamers so yeah

And I basically just threw all the ones who were in mcc into it 🤡🤡🤡

And I also bsed their houses so bad cause I DONT KNOW THEM HSHDSHS so it's probably fucking awful but I once again do not care

I still only ended up with 5 ppl per team but it's fine I mostly just didnt add some chasers theyll just be Generic BG Character That's Probably A Fandom Character That I'll Yearn For Someone To Comment About

not to be a nerd but i accidentally just wrote a whole impromptu essay about editing ndjsdksksk im throwing it under a cut bc it's fucking inane and really long but honestly... i just want other people to become as passionate about editing as i am lmaooooo

i also recommend 2 books in the post so if anything at least check those out!

quality books about editing... *chef's kiss* a lot of the basic ones (including blog posts online n such) are geared towards beginners and end up repeating the same info/advice, much of it either oversimplified or misrepresented tbh. but i read one yesterday and i'm reading another one right now that really convey this passion for editing + consideration for it as its own sort of art and i just!!

it's such a weird thing to be passionate about lmao but i AM and i've spent a lot of time the past year or so consciously honing my craft (ik i mention this like 4 times a week i'm just really proud of how much i've learned and improved) and kind of like. solidifying my instincts into conscious choices i guess?

and these GOOD editing books have both a) taught me new information and/or presented familiar information through a new perspective that helped me understand something differently or in more depth, and b) validated or even just put into words certain preferences or techniques that i've developed on my own, that i don't normally see on those more basic lists i mentioned

btw the book i finished yesterday is self-editing for fiction writers: how to edit yourself into print by renni brown and dave king, and the one i'm reading currently is the artful edit: on the practice of editing yourself by susan bell.

the former was pretty sharp and straightforward. the authors demonstrated some of their points directly in the text, which was usually funny enough that i would show certain quotes to my sister without context

("Just think about how much power a single obscenity can have if it’s the only one in the whole fucking book." <- (it was)

"Frequent italics have come to signal weak writing. So you should never resort to them unless they are the only practical choice, as with the kind of self-conscious internal dialogue shown above or an occasional emphasis."

or, my favorite: "There are a few stylistic devices that are so “tacky” they should be used very sparingly, if at all. First on the list is emphasis quotes, as in the quotes around the word “tacky” in the preceding sentence. The only time you need to use them is to show you are referring to the word itself, as in the quotes around the word “tacky” in the preceding sentence. Read it again; it all makes sense.")

and like i said, i also learned some new ideas or techniques (or they articulated vague ideas i already had but struggled to put into practice), AND they mentioned some suggestions that ive literally never seen anyone else bring up (not to say no one has! just that ive never seen it, and ive seen a lot in terms of writing tips, advice, best practices, etc) that ive already sort of established in my own writing

for example they went into pretty fine detail about dialogue mechanics, more than i usually see, and in talking about the pacing and proportion of "beats" and dialogue in a given scene, they explicitly suggested that, if a character speaks more than a sentence or two and you plan on giving them some sort of dialogue tag or an action to perform as a beat, the tag or action should be placed at one of the earliest (if not the first) natural pauses in the dialogue, so as not to distance the character too far from the dialogue -- bc otherwise the reader ends up getting all of the dialogue information first, and then has to go back and retroactively insert the character, or what they're doing, or the way they look/sound while they're giving their little speech

and like this was something ive figured out on my own, mostly bc it jarred me out of something i was reading enough times (probably in fic tbh) that i started noticing it, and realized that it's something i do naturally, kind of to anchor the character to the dialogue mechanic to make sure it makes sense with the actual dialogue

so like. ok here's an example i just randomly pulled from the song of achilles (it was available on scribd so i just looked for a spot that worked to illustrate my point djsmsks)

the actual quote is written effectively, but here's a less effective version first:

“Perhaps I would, but I see no reason to kill him. He’s done nothing to me," Achilles answered coolly.

see and even with such a short snippet it's so much smoother and more vivid just by moving the dialogue tag, not adding or cutting a word:

“Perhaps I would, but I see no reason to kill him.” Achilles answered coolly. “He’s done nothing to me.”

the rhythm of it is better, and the beat that the dialogue tag creates functions as a natural dramatic pause before achilles delivers an incredibly poignant line, both within the immediate context of the scene and because we as the readers can recognize it as foreshadowing. plus, it flows smoothly because that beat was inserted where the dialogue already contained a natural pause, just bc that's how people speak. if you read both versions aloud, they both make sense, but the second version (the original used in the novel) accounts for the rhythm of dialogue, the way people tend to process information as they read, AND the greater context of the story, and as a result packs significantly more purpose, information, and effect into the same exact set of words

and THAT, folks, is the kind of editing minutia i can literally sit and hyperfocus on for hours without noticing. anyway it's a good book lmao

the one i'm reading now is a lot more about the cognitive process/es of editing, so there's less concrete and specific advice (so far, anyway) and more discussion about different mental approaches to editing, as well as tips and tools for making a firm distinction between your writer brain and your editor brain, which is something i struggle with

but there have been so many good quotes that ive highlighted! a lot of just like. reminders and things to think about, and also just lovely articulations of things id thought of or come to understand in much more vague ways.

scribd won't let me copy/paste this one bc it's a document copy and not an actual ebook, but this passage is talking about how the simple act of showing a piece of writing to someone else for the very first time can spark a sudden shift in perspective on the work, bc you'll (or at least i) frantically try to re-read it through their eyes and end up noticing a bunch of new errors -

or she talked about the perils of constant re-reading in the middle of writing a draft, which is something i struggle with a LOT, both bc i'm a perfectionist and bc i prefer editing to writing so i sit and edit when i'm procrastinating doing the actual hard work of writing lmao

it's just this side of fake deep tbh but i so rarely see editing discussed like this--as a mixture of art and science, a collaboration between instinct and technique, that really requires "both sides of the brain" to be done well.

and because of the way my own brain works, activities that require such a balanced concentration of creativity and logic really appeal to me. even though ive seen a lot of people (even professional writers) who frame it as the creative art of writing vs the logical discipline of editing. but i think that's such a misleading way of thinking about it, because writing and editing both require creativity and logic -- just different kinds! (not to mention that the line between writing and editing, while mostly clear, can get a little blurry from up close)

but like...all stories have an inner logic to them, even if the writer hasn't explicitly or consciously planned it, and even if the logic is faulty in places in the first couple of drafts. when you're sitting and daydreaming about your story, especially if you're trying to figure out how to bridge the gap between two points or scenes (or, how to write a sequence of events that presents as a logical, inevitable progression of cause and effect), the voice in your head that evaluates an idea and decides to 1) go with it, 2) scrap it, 3) tweak it until it works, or 4) hold onto it in case you want it later? that's your logic! if an idea feels wrong, or like it just doesn't work, it's probably because some part of you is detecting a conflict between some part of the idea and the overall logic of your story. every decision you make as you write is formed by and checked against your own experiential logic, and also by the internal logic of your story, which is far less developed (or at least, one would hope), and therefore more prone to the occasional laspe

but while ive seen a number of articles that discuss the logic of writing, i don't see people gushing as much about the art of editing and it's such a shame

the inner editor is so often characterized as the responsible parent to the writer's carefree child, or a relentless critic of the writer's unselfconscious, unpolished drivel

and it's like... maybe you just hate thinking critically about your work! maybe you view it that way because you're imposing external standards too fiercely onto your writing, and it's sucked the joy out of shaping and sculpting your words until they sing. maybe you prefer to conceive of your writing as divine communication, the process of which must remain unencumbered by lessons learned through experience or the vulnerability of self-reflection, until the buzzkill inner editor shows up with all those "rules" and "conventions" that only matter if you're trying to get published

and like obviously the market doesn't dictate which conventions are worth following, but the majority of widely-agreed-upon writing standards, especially those aimed at beginners, (and most especially those regarding style, as opposed to story structure) have to do with the effectiveness and efficiency of prose, and, in addition to often serving as a shorthand for distinguishing an amateur from a pro, overall help to increase poignancy and clarity, which is crucial no matter the genre or type of writing. and even if you personally believe otherwise, it's better to understand the conventions so you can break them with real purpose.

so editing shouldn't be about trying to shove your pristine artistic masterpiece into a conventional mold, it should be about using the creative instincts of your ear and your logic and experience-based understanding of writing as a craft to hone your words until you've told your story as effectively as possible

I think I’m gonna do it all in one go so,,,,

1. Your stats: I’m 156 cm (5,11 ft) and around 34,5 kg (76 lbs). I’m not 100% sure about the weight because I’m currently in inpatient recovery and I’m not allowed to know my weight.

2. How tall are you? Do you like your height? As I said before, I’m 156 cm and I absolutely hate my height. It’s really hard to pass with male pronouns if you’re this short.

3.A picture of your thinspiration. What feature do you like about this person?

I just love how androgynous and effortless they look.

4.Your greatest fear about weight loss? One night my heartbeat dropped really low and I started to feel my hand and feet fuzzy and my vision went black. That was scary af. Also I’m terrified to gain all my weight back.

5. Why are you losing weight? Are you doing it for you? After like five months of psychotherapy, tbh I feel quite confident saying that I know what caused my ed, but it’s long, complicated and I don’t really feel comfortable sharing it.

6. Do you binge? If so explain why you do so. It’s been months since my last binge, and I think I’m pretty over that phase. Generally I used to binge about every two weeks, and exeptionally in one really bad moment multiple times a week: mostly due to very heavy restriction. As soon as I started bringing up a little my calorie limit my binges plummeted (and so did my weight).

7. Do your parents know you’re trying to lose weight? Do they care? They only started to worry when my BMI reached 15.5. That’s when they started to try helping me by putting me in recovery. That was about six months ago.

8. Your workout routine. I can’t really exercise in the hospital, but when I was at home I used to go to the gym and jog.

9. Did people make comments on your weight in a negative way? When I was at my hw my friends and relatives used to do ironic comments on my body shape, not really nasty, but they definitely stuck with me. Now most people comment on how malnourished I look and so.....oh how the tables have turned.

10. What is the hardest thing you gave up during this weight loss? As a food? Definitely ice-cream. Other things are stuff like having the freedom to drink and smoke and party with my friends, because obviously the psych ward is hell.

11. Your favorite thinspo blog and why. I,,,,,,,don’t,,,,,really,,,,,,have a favourite thinspo blog? I just kinda scroll through the tags. I do love ed memes accounts tho, I think that humour is a great coping mechanism.

12. What do you normally eat? Diets in the hospital are chosen by the dietician, I usually eat what’s in front of me, but i always try to leave or hide something, and sometimes I straight up refuse to finish the plate. In general i basically eat everything, just in small amounts.

13. Are you losing weight in a healthy or in an unhealthy way? I’m not losing any weight rn, I’m trying to mantain despite all the food they’re making me eat. But I definitely used to lose weight in a very unhealthy way.ù

14. What’s your UGW? When do you expect to reach it? Tbh death, and I hope soon.

15. Are you vegan/vegetarian? If so, has this helped you to lose weight? I’ve been vegeterian since I was 12 y/o and a lot before my ed. It has not helped me with weight loss, I do it mainly for ethical and enviromental reasons.

16. When did you first decide to lose weight? It was always kinda in my mind, but I started hating my body intensely and wanting to lose weight when I was 14 years old.

17.Do you have an ed? I was diagnosed anorexia nervosa, depression, body dysphoria and dysmorphia.

18. What is your food weakness? Pudding, cakes, ice-cream and everything sweet.

19. When was the last time you ate fast food? There aren’t many fast food places in my town, and I come from a family of very healthy eaters, so ig I never really had fast food(?). I did eat pizza tho about a month ago (before quarantine).

20. Favourite diet? Just plain calorie restriction(?) I’m a basic bitch, ik.

21. What are your clothing sizes? I wear an italian 32, but it’s a bit loose. It should be an european 36 and an american 00

22. What was your lw? How and why did you gain? 33.7 kg (74.2 lbs) I gained because of recovery.

23. Did the media play a role in you wanting to lose weight? Obviously, but it wasn’t the only nor main cause.

24. How do you feel about the term pro-ana/pro-mia? Idk, I feel like all the thinspo blog that post triggering content and then call themselves “pro-recovery” are kinda fake. We all know we’re here to trigger ourselves and seek acceptance and reassurance. It’s just another way to cope.

25. Have you ever purged? If so, describe your first experience. I’ve only purged a few times, I don’t really have a gag reflex so it’s very hard for me. It only happened when I binged so much I felt phisically sick and threw up without even trying.

26. What excites you more about reaching your UGW? Idk, I’ve already reached all the goals I had in mind, and because I’m at the hospital it’s kinda impossible to lose weight.

27. How do you deal with being around food? I love cooking, as long as I don’t have to eat what I prepare, and when I’m around binge-triggering food I just think about how I’ll feel afterwards if I eat it. It’s just not worth it.

28. Do you want a thigh gap? I already have a 6 cm thigh gap, but I would rather have more straight, masculine hips than these awful curves.
