The article titled "Merkava — The Home Grown Israeli Tank" by Peter Suciu explores the evolution and significance of the Israeli Merkava main battle tank. Starting with a historical context, King Solomon's ancient military innovations lay the groundwork for the concept of a chariot, which forms the basis of the tank's namesake. During its development, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) faced reliance on foreign technology, prompting the creation of the indigenous Merkava tank following a failed attempt to acquire British Chieftain tanks. Under Major General Israel Tal, Israel developed its own tank design, with the first prototype unveiled in 1977, subsequently becoming central to the IDF's armored capabilities. The article elaborates on the evolution of the Merkava through various iterations, from the original Merkava Mk I to the recent fifth-generation Merkava Barak, highlighting its focus on crew survivability, innovative design features like the Trophy Active Protection System, and its historical engagements. Despite being a closely guarded national defense asset, the Merkava is partially accessible to the public through military museums worldwide, underscoring its historical and strategic significance as a formidable home-grown defense technology.

[ 📹 Scenes from the destruction wrought by an Israeli occupation airstrike which targeted a vehicle being driven by 7 foreign aid workers belonging to the World Central Kitchen, killing all inside. Among the dead included foreign citizens of Britain, Poland, and Australia, along with a dual American and Canadian citizen. The aid organization said it had coordinated the movements of its personnel with the Israeli authorities, who knew the vehicle contained humanitarian aid workers.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🚀🚙💥 🚨
ISRAELI OCCUPATION BOMBS FOREIGN AID WORKERS, CONTINUES BOMBING ACROSS GAZA ON DAY 179 OF GENOCIDE
On the 179th day of "Israel's" ongoing war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 7 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 71 Palestinians, mostly women and children, while another 102 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.
In the latest occupation atrocity, the Zionist army bombed the vehicle of a group of Foreign aid personnel working for the World Central Kitchen (WCK), killing 7 employees, including 6 foreigners.
"World Central Kitchen is devastated to confirm seven members of our team have been killed in an IDF strike in Gaza," the organization said in a statement on its website.
According to the World Central Kitchen, despite coordinating the organization's movements with the Israeli occupation army, a convoy including two armored cars branded with the WCK logo and one soft-skin vehicle that were carrying the WCK team while it was traveling through a "deconflicted zone" was struck by an Israeli bomb, destroying at least one of the vehicles.
WCK says the team was leaving their Deir al-Balah warehouse, in the central Gaza Strip, where their teams unloaded more than 100 tons of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza through a maritime route, when the convoy was targeted by Zionist forces.
“This is not only an attack against WCK, this is an attack on humanitarian organizations showing up in the most dire of situations where food is being used as a weapon of war. This is unforgivable,” World Central Kitchen CEO, Erin Gore is quoted as saying.
The seven foreign aid workers killed in the Zionist strike included citizens from Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, as well as a dual-citizen of the United States and Canada, and one Palestinian.
“I am heartbroken and appalled that we—World Central Kitchen and the world—lost beautiful lives today because of a targeted attack by the IDF. The love they had for feeding people, the determination they embodied to show that humanity rises above all, and the impact they made in countless lives will forever be remembered and cherished,” Erin Gore added.
In response to the International outcry over the atrocity, the Israeli occupation authorities said they will be “carrying out an in-depth examination at the highest levels to understand the circumstances of this tragic incident.”
The World Central Kitchen has suspended its operations in Gaza as a result of the incident.
In yet another atrocity yesterday, the Israeli occupation army bombed the Iranian consulate building in the Syrian capital of Damascus, killing several high-level Iranian officials, including 7 military advisors of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In response to the strike, Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said in an announcement issued on Tuesday that the "evil Zionist regime will regret" it's crime of assasinating Iran's military advisors in Syria.
The Iranian leader said that both Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, and his deputy, General Mohammed Hadi Haji Rahimi were killed in the strike, which targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus, declaring the crime was perpetrated by the "usurping and dispicable" Zionist regime.
“The evil regime will be punished by our brave men. We will make them regret this crime and other ones, by God's will," the Iranian leader added.
As Israel's crimes spread outside the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip, and into the wider West Asian region, the bombing inside Palestine continued unabated.
In just one example, local civil defense crews recovered the bodies of six Palestinians who were killed, including two children, along with a number of wounded civilians, following a Zionist occupation airstrike targeting the Zarub family home, located in the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip.
In another atrocity, several Palestinians were killed and a large number wounded after occupation artillery shelling targeted a number of residential buildings in the city of Khan Yunis, also in the south of Gaza, focusing artillery fire on the eastern and central parts of the city.
Meanwhile, Zionist warplanes bombed the al-Bashir Mosque, in the city of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, martyring a several civilians, including the death of at least one child, and wounding at least 20 others, while also dealing significant damage to neighboring residential buildings.
Similarly, Zionist fighter jets fired several missiles that slammed into two residential homes in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, while occupation artillery shelling targeted the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, along with the Sheikh Ajlin neighborhood, martyring three civilians and wounding six others.
Over the last day, as the Zionist occupation army withdrew from the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, located in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, which had been the largest and most well-equipped hospital in the entire Gaza Strip, a scene of mass destruction and carnage was revealed, with hundreds of bodies littering the hospital grounds, including some bodies discovered with handcuffed wrists, having been extra-judicially executed in cold-blood.
Among the bodies recovered from Al-Shifa were doctors and healthcare personnel, along with entire Palestinian families, which the Gaza Media Office says were just a small part of the roughly 400 citizens that were killed in two weeks of fighting near the hospital.
About another 900 Palestinians were arrested or detained by Zionist forces under suspicion of belonging to Resistance groups, while the Hospital buildings themselves were nearly completely destroyed, blown to pieces and left as scorched shells by the American bombs dropped on them by the Israeli occupation army.
As a result of "Israel's" ongoing war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, the infinitely rising death toll has now exceeded 32'916 Palestinians killed, more than 25'000 of which being among women and children, while an additional 75'494 others have been wounded since the start of the current round of Zionist aggression beginning on October 7th, 2023.

Why don't all these ardent tumblr zionists enlist in the IDF if everything they're doing is so justified and necessary and the only way to keep the world safe?
Is it that in their heart of hearts they know that they will see things that will either reveal the depth of the lies they've told or force them to become something they claim to abhor? Or maybe wandering around a college campus calling Jews for Peace members Hamas is as close as they're willing to get to the real thing.
I saw a man I worked with in marketing quit his job as CEO of a successful company to literally focus on full time posting. He didn't go back and pick up a rifle, he decided to spend more of the day sharing pictures of Disney villains barfing on LinkedIn.
When it comes to fundraising it's all glitz and glamour, and exerting influence on senators. That all goes into the war machine too, not reconstruction.
Meanwhile anybody with Palestinian sympathies is passing the hat to get body armor for journalists, provide even a little food and medical aid through the blockade, and has to stick up for the sole Palestinian in Congress while even mild criticism of Israel can cost them their job.
I saw a woman from a Jewish Iranian family say that even though she lives in LA she believes she would die if Israel stopped existing. So she's what, making instagram videos about it? You can't have EVERYBODY join the propaganda corps! Somebody's gotta go put the boots on some Palestinian kid's necks.
If you're in the US there's no downsides either, go, kill some people waving white flags, come home. IDF isn't considered a terror org.
Asymmetry of the conflict is apparent there too, because even if somebody outright wanted to fight for Hamas or any other Palestinian militant group (as opposed to simply wanting the mass murder to stop which is where the bulk of opposition stands, abolishing an apartheid state isn't even on the table for many) not only are there no easily accessible web portals for membership, no pensions, no direct flights, but you'll bring the entire weight of the US security apparatus down on you.
Meanwhile congressmen wear their IDF uniforms to censure their peers. And the zionists will tell you this is right, this is the way it should be here, there should be no friction to joining in the efforts to extract vengeance, make a desert and call it peace.
So why not go out and risk becoming a mission for the semen retention commandos already? There's no barriers like you want, so what's stopping you? Is it fear that you'll learn what you're actually supporting, or is it not only Palestinian lives you value less than your own?

The Combat Engineering Corps. officer said that the way to see this tragedy is from a “glass half full” perspective, doing the best that can be done in these difficult circumstances.
The engineers continued their work in the lead-up to the ground offensive on October 27. Then they helped the IDF armored and infantry units maneuver along the coast. The D9 helps clear the way and neutralize threats. Terrorists were eliminated in villas and hotels along the coast.
Later, the unit moved into western Jabalya, a densely built-up area near Gaza. The IDF’s 162nd Division has done the heavy lifting there, penetrating into Jabalya and defeating the terrorists there. The goal of the engineers is to help prepare areas for maneuvers and bulldoze areas that might be threatening to troops.
For instance, troops might need to go through an orchard or an area of trees bifurcated by small wadis (streams). The bulldozer can go in and flatten a path. It will churn up the dirt as well, removing booby traps or other dangers. This will help prevent anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) or RPG attacks.
Many IDF armored vehicles these days have active protection systems, such as the Trophy system that is on Merkava tanks and Namer armored personnel carriers. Israel’s D9s and Eitan APCs are supposed to be kitted out with the Iron Fist protection system. Despite these protective systems, vehicles can be damaged and soldiers killed by the ATGM and RPG threat. Harari described how there were ATGM threats in Jabalya. The unit brought in tanks and eliminated two terrorists in one instance.
Engineering units come in various types and sizes. There are the elite units such as the Yahalom that perform special missions. There are other units that are experts in explosives and demolition; they can act with great precision. Then there are the heavy machinery engineers, like those in Harari’s unit.
Today, many engineering units are in Gaza, including Yahalom, the 614th Combat Engineers, the 603rd, and the 8170 and 7017 Battalions. In many cases, these units work closely with other ones in the IDF, such as infantry and tanks, as part of larger organic units, such as the 162nd or 36th Divisions.

Two underlying assumptions guided Israel’s security establishment for the past generation. The first asserted that with the end of the Cold War, the era of conventional wars had ended. In the present age, brains, rather than brawn, would rule the roost.
The primary author of the “small and smart IDF” doctrine was Ehud Barak, who served as Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces when the Berlin Wall crumbled. In later years, the slogan was finessed.
A generation of IDF Chiefs of General Staff organized around the vision of a “small, technological and lethal army.”
As Maj. Gen. Yitzhak Brick, (retired) who served as the IDF ombudsman for ten years, has documented, operating under the spell of Barak’s doctrine, the IDF shut down multiple reserve divisions. It cut its artillery forces by 50%. Armored brigades were shut down. The reserve force was reduced by 80% between 2003 and 2017. The non-commissioned officer corps was gutted. The bulk of the IDF budget and nearly all the U.S. military aid were diverted to the Air Force—the strategic arm of the “small, technological and lethal” IDF.
The doctrine was repeatedly exposed as a farce. But to no avail. The air force didn’t defeat the Palestinian terror factories in Judea and Samaria in 2002. The ground forces did. The air force never had a response to missiles from Hezbollah to the north and Hamas to the south. Without regional brigades defending the borders, Israel’s “peacetime” borders with Jordan on the east and Egypt at its west became highways for weapons smugglers.
Brick’s warnings fell on deaf ears until the “small, smart army” fallacy was obliterated by Hamas invaders on Oct. 7. Israel’s multi-billion shekel “smart fence” was felled by bulldozers. Its automatic response system was obliterated by RPGs. Hundreds of soldiers manning these worthless technological wonders were slaughtered or kidnapped. Everything failed.
A microcosm of all things oppressive
This brings us to the second underlying assumption that guided Israel’s security establishment for the past generation. This assumption, also championed by Barak, asserted that Israel’s most important strategic asset was the United States.
Leaving aside the obvious fact that a strategy of dependence on an outside actor effectively gutted Israel’s national independence, on the surface, Barak’s dependence concept seemed reasonable.
The Americans rescued Israel with its weapons airlift in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. In 1992, the United States was the sole global superpower. Because Israel was seen as Washington’s “mini-me,” countries worldwide lined up to be friends with Israel, which they perceived as the gateway to Washington. The vast majority of Americans supported Israel. U.S. military aid to Israel enjoyed wide bipartisan support.
Under the spell of Barak’s U.S. dependence doctrine, Israel gutted its domestic military production capabilities. Nearly everything that it had produced domestically—from uniforms to rifles to bullets, to artillery and tank shells—was shut down. Thousands of military industry workers lost their jobs. Knowledge was lost. The contracts moved to the United States. Even projects developed jointly by Israeli engineers financed by America were transferred to the United States for production. So it happened that Israel’s Iron Dome missiles are solely produced in the United States.

seeing all these israeli and jewish mikus thought id add mine to the mix. meet idf miku 🇮🇱
details/thought process:
both- she is a rank segen officer, meaning lieutenant, as seen by the two lines on the shoulder straps (the lines are called aronot, ארונות, which translates to closets, and the word for those straps in hebrew is כותפות, kotafot) this means she took a course to be an officer and has been an officer for over a year, and in the idf past the two years women usually have to serve. she is in her uniform bet (מדי ב) which are identical to eachother across all ranks and forces, uniform alef is different for officers, military police, air force and navy. also look at the pin on the collar!! thats a pin for people who did their officer course.
michve alon miku had a grey sroch which means shes part of the education corp/ministry, the black kumta is for the armor corp meaning tanks, and she has an m16. why is she in the armour corps? ill be fr, in my training at this base all my commanders had a black beret, and i took inspo from my מ״מ for this miku so shes the same rank and position as her. sooo shes a platoon commander (מפקדת מחלקת)
edit: black berets also show up in education corp thats why they had black berets in my basic traininh, my bad (thanks @springstarfangirl for that info)
artillery corp miku has a black and green sroch, which means she is a commander in a course to be a commander, which also makes her a commander. idk why i picked this one i saw officers from the artillery had them often in pics so i went for it. she had a blue beret be artillery and the artillery pin in that beret. i wanted to have this one so she dyed her hair to be a natural colour and u can see her actual natural color pop out at the roots bc i saw a lot where ppl did the opposite for their israeli mikus but in the military she can have bright teal hair so00000 yeah. no weapon this time tho i imagine shes got a pistol back there or smth :)) anyways thsts it i love talking abt the idf one of my fave things is looking st soldiers and being able to notice these things that say a lot abt their service and position.
idf miku
look at reblogs if u wanna see some notes abt each one bc i love talking abt the idf's structure

(October 29, 2023 / JNS) Hamas is preventing hundreds of American citizens from leaving the Gaza Strip, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan revealed to CBS on Sunday, ahead of a scheduled call between President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“The challenge right now … is that the Egyptians are prepared to let Americans and other foreign nationals out of Gaza. The Israelis have no issue with that. But Hamas is preventing their departure and making a series of demands,” Sullivan told CBS’s “Face the Nation” program.
“We’re trying to work through that to create a circumstance where all of the Americans who are in Gaza are able to get out. It is a priority for the president. He has no higher priority than their safe passage out,” he added.
Some 500 to 600 U.S. citizens are believed to be stuck in the Hamas-controlled enclave, Washington previously confirmed. Sullivan did not elaborate on the demands the terrorist group was making to permit their departure.
In a separate interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Sullivan said Biden would speak again with Netanyahu on Sunday and stress the need for the Israeli army “to make every possible effort to distinguish between terrorists and Palestinian civilians during the ground operation in Gaza.”
Hamas’s use of human shields “creates an added burden for Israel but does not lessen Israel’s responsibility under international law to distinguish between terrorists and civilians and to protect the lives of innocent people,” claimed the Biden administration official.
The U.S. has been asking Jerusalem “hard questions” about “Israeli military objectives and the steps they have taken and intend to take to achieve those objectives,” added Sullivan.
“We’ve asked them hard questions, the same hard questions that we would ask ourselves if we were seeking to conduct an operation to take out a terrorist threat,” he continued. “We pressed them on questions like objectives and matching means to objectives, about both tactical and strategic issues associated with this operation.”
The Israel Defense Forces continues to expand its ground operations in the Strip.
Soldiers of the 52nd “The Breachers” Battalion, part of the Armored Corps’ 401st “Iron Tracks” Brigade, who entered the northern Gaza Strip on Saturday, raised the Israeli flag on one of the buildings there, according to video documentation shared online.
A soldier recording his comrades raising the flag can be heard in the video saying that three weeks after the Oct. 7 massacre of Israelis by Hamas terrorists, troops “lift the flag of Israel in the heart of Gaza, along the beach. We will not forget, we will not forgive and we will not stop until victory.”
Israel launched “Operation Swords of Iron” on Oct. 7 after Hamas invaded southern Israel, murdering at least 1,400 people, wounding more than 5,000 and taking over 200 hostages back to Gaza. According to the IDF, the families of 230 people have been notified that their loved ones are being held by Hamas.

So many things happening at once 10.2.2023
I feel that my letters are so disorganized but that is the way it is. Every day something changes. The government proposes a law or there is a threat to pass a law...as has happened with Shas demanding that any woman for example holding a Torah scroll be arrested and the next moment it is shot down. Attached the PDF and I suggest women especially read it. Every time there is a new threat to our freedom and I feel that the net of darkness if closing on us and we are striking out wildly to keep our balance.
We were out on a shift. I had had a very bad night with my leg and woke up really dopey. Last night I went to the demonstration here in Jerusalem which was quiet but in Tel Aviv two women who held signs with a small Palestinian flag on it were told that they would be arrested even though there is no law against it. More and more soldiers and police and even security guards are acting as if they now have all the power in their might to stop anyone acting in a way of which THEY do not approve. If I did not have to walk with the sticks I would dafke make such a sign. Today, also coming back from a shift a thoroughly nasty piece of work stopped Kamal, our Arab driver, as we were going through a checkpoint. Kamal says the creep knows him and that he has a blue ID but he always delays him and tries to make problems. So today he stopped in, peered into the car and very rudely said to Kamal...."Who are they?" I wanted to say to him did we look like terrorists but it would only have caused him to make Kamal more problems when he goes through and when he is not with us. Anat shot back at him Machsomwatch and he evidently realized who he was dealing with and let us through. He evidently hoped that Kamal was taking Palestinian women through and that he could delay him by demanding their documents
Last week I went to a documentary...."Two Kids a day" and you can actually see it on this link. Look at the beginning....see how small some of the children are whom they are arresting. And how they handle them. And go to the end to hear what some people say. That by breaking youths, they break the villages. You really need to watch this.
https://www.gumfilms.com/projects/two-kids-day
Has your news told you that El Al pilots refused to fly the unroyal family to France? And do you know how many big firms are leaving Israel?
Have you any idea how many companies are withdrawing from Israel.
Have you any idea of how many Israelis who have money are thinking of opening accounts overseas.
Netanyahu said to call global credit rating firms amid concern over judicial shakeup
Premier reportedly appeals directly to international ranking companies, banks to convince them government proposals won't damage economy, don't justify downgrade
https://www.timesofisrael.com/netanyahu-said-to-call-global-credit-rating-firms-amid-concern-over-judicial-shakeup/
And a three day march is moving towards Jerusalem. I will join them at the Knesset (or is it the High Court). There is so much going on. I think there is an expression catch the leopand by the tail and that is what Netanyahu has done. There is also to be an enormous strike throughout Israel on Monday next. Many employers are giving their workers the day off but better that they should simply close down.
IDF vets start 3-day march to Jerusalem to protest judicial overhaul plans
Dozens of ex-Armored Corps generals pen letter warning legislation will harm military draft, 'willingness of reserves to mobilize'
https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-vets-hold-3-day-march-to-jerusalem-to-protest-judicial-overhaul-plans/
I am also sending you an article by Robyn of the Bereaved Palestinian and Israeli families. More and more doors are being closed to anyone considered not a "loyal" citizen. Yesterday after a demonstration in Jerusalem in which reserve soldiers took part after a three day march to Jerusalem. As soon as there is something on the agenda of which the right does not agree everyone and every organization bends the knee to them. Last night people coming from the demonstration were stopped at the train station because of the anti-government shirts they were wearing. I do not know how this ended but it is not the first time. I have suggested that a whole group of us go to the train station with our various shirts on and see what will happen.

The article "Merkava — The Home Grown Israeli Tank" by Peter Suciu provides a detailed history of the Merkava, Israel's main battle tank. The article traces the origins of the Merkava back to King Solomon's use of chariots and outlines Israel's need for a home-grown tank due to concerns regarding reliance on foreign technology. By the 1960s and 70s, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) sought to produce their own tanks after the UK's decision not to sell the Chieftain tank to Israel. As a result, the Merkava was developed with a focus on crew protection and survivability. Successive versions like the Mk I, Mk II, Mk III, and Mk IV incorporated advancements in firepower, protection, and technology, with the Mk IV featuring the Trophy Active Protection System to defeat missile threats. The latest Merkava Barak represents further evolution in defense technology, offering enhanced target detection and intelligence sharing capabilities. While the Merkava has not been widely exported, a few models are displayed in museums across Europe. The article highlights the progression of the Merkava as a pivotal element of Israel's armored forces.

Vobek, a resident of Netiv HaAsara, had been a volunteer with the ZAKA divers unit for many years. The organization said that "he took part in dozens of rescue missions, dedicated to saving lives and honoring the deceased. During the brutal attack on Netiv HaAsara, Vobek courageously defended his home and friends, ultimately losing his life in the battle against armed terrorists. Dolev and Odeya Swissa and their two daughters
Dolev and Odeya Swissa were murdered in their hometown of Sderot. They leave behind two young daughters, ages 3 and 7. Dolev, who was shot by terrorists, was found dead Saturday night. A search was conducted throughout the night for his wife Odeya, who was considered missing until her body was discovered in the morning. "We don't know how the girls were saved," said Rehovot Deputy Mayor Zohar Blum, who is married to Dolev's sister. "We woke up to a dark morning."
Blum added, "Following the heart-wrenching news of Dolev's murder and a sleepless night, we have now learned that Odeya, his beloved wife whom we searched for hours, was also mercilessly murdered by the assassins. This young couple's lives were tragically cut short in the war, simply because of their location near the Gaza Strip and the startling ease with which the terrorists invaded their home. A remarkable couple, they leave behind two young, now orphaned, daughters. My heart aches for my wife and her family in Sderot.
Aharon Haimov, a 25-year-old senior paramedic and ambulance driver with Magen David Adom (MDA) from Ofakim, was fatally shot on Saturday morning en route to treat the wounded in his hometown. At 7:05am, he told me he would come back to get it and at 7:20 he no longer answered me, he had already encountered the terrorists. Numerous trucks loaded with armed terrorists entered the area. He fought the terrorists and managed to save a child. I knew my father was dead before we were informed; someone saw him dead and sent me a picture. My father is a hero. He was my whole world. He was a father who always put us first, and himself second, placing everyone before him."

JERUSALEM — The Israel Defense Forces are moving to sync capabilities and modify units as part of its new multiyear plan that envision a multidimensional battlefield, an IDF official said in a background briefing with Defense News.
Israel’s new concept is meant to prepare the country for these transformations so it is ahead of its peers in terms of fielding technology. As part of this approach, Israel conducted its first multilayered integrated air defense drill in December 2020, and local defense companies, such as Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, are incorporating more artificial intelligence and automatic target recognition capabilities into their platforms.
When Israel talks about multidimensional maneuvers on the battlefield, the official said, it looks at how other armed services, like the U.S. Marine Corps, use a vast array of platforms and assets, moving beyond the idea of infantry, armor, naval and air forces as separate services. This is the most significant change currently taking place with the IDF, the official explained, and with as conscript-based military, the country finds it challenging to maintain that type of interdisciplinary approach.
Israel’s military is not only made up of conscripts but also a large reserve force, and the IDF is seeking to train those personnel the same way it does new recruits using the new doctrine and the latest technology. The official said the focus is now on the individual soldier, modifying the war fighter’s training and use of technology.
This is not about training troops on how to better conquer a certain hill, the official added, but rather looking at how restraints and demands have changed on the battlefield as well as how recruits have changed in terms of their technological experience. One specific restraint is time because soldiers serve as conscripts for only several years.
