About five light-years "tall," the dark cloud is cataloged as Barnard 33 and is visible only because its obscuring dust is silhouetted against the glowing red emission nebula IC 434. Stars are forming within the dark cloud. Contrasting blue reflection nebula NGC 2023, surrounding a hot, young star, is at the lower left of the full image. He could feel Beard watching him out of the corner of his eye, probably wondering if he or Nate were going to be acting manager when Roy was placed on leave.  It was an accident.  He hated Jamie was hurting, but it was an accident for fuck’s sake.

Ted wasn’t sure when, but there was blood dripping down Jamie’s hand, dripping off his fingers, in small droplets on the floor.  “Don’t fucking touch me!”

Was it that he could see the ones who had been inside in the way they carried themselves? The way they reacted to a door closing, to the sound of a lock? The way they hated when they couldn’t see the sky from where they were?  The way they always sat with their back to the wall so no one could get behind them?The way they reacted when someone touched them?  Along the road he had become more than a former inmate, he just was unsure when.  Or how.  Along the road, he had become the sum of his parts. His past misdeeds were a part of him the same way his favourite colour or his mastery of chess. But they were still a part of him, and they were still part of his story. It was still a way he could help Jamie. 

He went to the freezer to gather his thoughts under the guise of ice for Jamie, which he needed anyway. He handed him the refrozen peas for his eye and a larger pack to hold under the sweatshirt on his ribs. He took the chair again, adjusted his seat, crossed his legs and opened himself to the man he closed himself off to.

-- In the Grand Prix series, a lot of very distinctive characters, that compete with Yuuri & Victor team, make an appearance. I want to ask you what's your opinion about them?

S: First of all, all these characters are very strong-flavored, but the one that I was really focused on is Popovich. He's Russian, just like Victor, and he has always been overshadowed by Victor, so he couldn't really show off his talents. You'd think that this season, he would get his chance to shine, but Yurio gained prominence instead. If he had more luck, he perhaps could become Russia's Ace. That's really sad, isn't it? It's really so lovable about him, that these circumstances seem to get to his head (laugh). Unfortunately, he didn't make it to the GP final, but from what I've heard, he's the most popular character among male staff members. Eroticism of Giacometti vel the guy, who makes the ice wet, is outstanding. JJ's ability to annoy you is top class. Phichit's cuteness is so intense and I like it. If they weren't so in-your-face [with their personality etc.], perhaps, they wouldn't be able to compete at top world level. The cast is also so rich, and the studio was always full of laughter.

-- Do you watch figure skating regularly?

S: I watch it often on TV. Thanks to Yuri!!! on ICE, this season, I can enjoy watching it even more. When Grand Prix series in on TV, they air Yuri!!! trailer, and after Yuri!!! on ICE, they air Grand Prix series ads. Anime and reality intermingle with each other, and thanks to that, we have a cross-over of potential viewers, as well. It's very interesting.

Today’s the day. 

At 8pm tonight, the decisions for Harvard’s Junior Deferral Program will be sent via email. Kennedy’s 177 LSAT, 3.9 GPA, personal statement and 4 personal references had all been weighted and assessed, and the letter that would make or break the rest of her life was sitting in some draft folder somewhere, waiting for the magic click. 

She was pretty sure she was going to throw up.

It had been a tortuous day. Kennedy considered skipping her classes (something she’s never, ever done before), but ultimately decided that it would be worse to sit at home and focus on the ticking of the clock. So, to class she went– without taking a single note or absorbing anything that had been said. She’d have to rely on Jayden for the notes, in some sort of Twilight-Zone role reversal 

It’s 7:58 now. Her stomach is churning in knots. She’s been too nervous to eat all day, and now she wonders if she’ll pass out before she even gets the email. Alexa’s here, making herself a drink in the kitchen– she’s planning on taking Kennedy out to celebrate. Kennedy hopes dinner will be involved, and not just tequila. Jayden’s here too, on the couch next to her. He hasn’t had anything to drink because he knows she thinks any early celebration will jinx her– she appreciates that about him, that he indulges her even when they both know she’s being irrational. 

“Hey,” Jayden whispers, barely audible over Alexa’s music and the dinging of the ice in the cocktail shaker.

“Yeah,” Kennedy says, tensely. 

“You’re gonna be a damn good lawyer. You’re so smart, Kennedy. Harvard or no Harvard, you’re going to kick ass,” he tells her, sincerity dripping from his every word.

“I’m gonna be an excellent lawyer who went to Harvard,” Kennedy corrects him. 

“You’re unstoppable. Unstoppable, Ken,” he’s willing her to believe him.

“It’s 8!” Alexa calls from the kitchen. 

Kennedy lurches forward, grabbing her laptop and waking the screen up. Jayden leans in too, trying to read over her shoulder. 

“I got the email! It’s here. I got it,” Kennedy exclaims hurriedly. 

“Open it, open it!” Alexa encourages, grabbing the bottle of champagne she’d brought over from the fridge where it had been chilling. 

“She is!” Jayden calls back, almost snippy with their friend. The two of them on the couch hold their breath as the email opens up in a new window and Kennedy reads. 

“I… I didn’t get it. I didn’t get into Harvard,” she announces, her voice breaking on nearly each word. 

The champagne bottle pops.

They both know it's just a part of their teasing until one on screen kiss looks a little too real and Yibo needs a little bit of reassurance, which Xiao Zhan is very happy to provide.
