Namjoon needed three things: sleep, a gallon of water, several doses of Tylenol, and sleep. Okay, that was four, but technically only three because sleep was on there twice. But Namjoon really, really just wanted to go to bed. 

They’d been in the US for nearly two weeks. Two weeks in which Namjoon had had to keep track of his members, while also keeping track of all of his own belongings, which was a feat on its own. Two weeks of running through airports and catching flights and playing the never-ending game of ‘smile at that camera, run from this one.’ Two weeks of talk shows, interviews, performances, concerts, photo shoots, content filming, sightseeing, and so much more. 

And, most importantly, two weeks of non-stop translating for his six very talkative yet very much not-fluent-in-English-speaking members.

The storytelling this season has many parallels to Friday Night Lights. That show also used New Noise by Refused, which is used multiple times in The Bear S1 and S2.

Yup, it’s a game :D

The story centers around Siffrin (the hat fella who wears a big cloak) as he attempts to save a country (fantasy France) from being frozen in time. They are also stuck in a time loop and canonically ace :D

(It’s really good I promise frfr, I recommend watching Jello Plays Games’ playthough. The voice acting in it is stellar, and also good background noise for doing art, writing, cleaning etc)

Oneshot is honestly kind of similar??

It centers around a little catlike kid named Niko in a big hat and cloak, who has to carry the sun across the land to put it back in its town to save the entire world. I don't think that Niko ever got a canon gender and I love them a lot. The story and gameplay is really cool because it functions REALLY uniquely to other games ive seen :] It's got some pretty colors, awesome lore, and a secret ending that I haven't looked into yet

The only playthrough I've watched is Markiplier's and it was really really good

Just found out they made a movie version of Matilda the Musical. As someone who was so obsessed at age 12 that I can still remember most of the lyrics to the songs at age 19, I've decided to chronicle my thoughts as I watch. (NOTE: anytime I mention "the OG" I am referring to the broadway musical, not the book)

I thought the "I can be a solider and shoot you in the face" line was very fun and original. Can't believe they sanitized it and we're not even 3 minutes in.

I am enjoying the "Miracle" segment so far. It's giving music video vibes. (but also, Disney just straight up added the Hamilton stage performance to their streaming service, and I'm already wishing they did that. The show was really fun!)

I thought part of Mrs. Wormwood's denial could've been more convincing if she wasn't obviously pregnant (admittedly they didn't do that in the original either--it's too bad; she should've been in really good shape to still almost make her dancing competition)

Library bus is fun but real actual libraries are also great. Mrs. Phelps seems nice so far.

Mr. Wormwood being worried about debt actually makes more sense for him to be doing all his shady stuff.

I liked "Naughty" except for the roof bit; Matila's supposed to be smart, not climbing all over the exterior of her house like an idiot. (note: Movie Matilda is also a bit of a dumbass)

Since Mr. Wormwood is going on about the escapologist, does that mean we're getting less of Mrs. Phelps?--never mind

So is the Trunchbull not the acrobat's sister in this one?

They changed some of the story--she doesn't try to do the *circus announcer voice* "it is the greatest feat EVER known to man"

Kiddo knows that turnabout is fair play

Isaac the lizard might be the best addition to the story (we will see)

"School Song" is simultaneously most similar and most different from the musical and I didn't like it at first (I thought the school gate with the letter blocks was the coolest thing) the way they managed to incorporate a lot of stuff from the original

Nigel panicking about advanced math (relative to himself) is very relatable

They're all so tinyyyyyyyy when you're 12 you don't notice as much

OMG it's the Hammer song (can't remember the official name right now D: oh no) The actress doesn't make the song hit the same way as the OG actress. The recording part is funny though

Honestly the bits of Miss. Honey's voice from the hammer song makes me even more disappointed they didn't include "Pathetic" she sounds good

The dad had a fun song making fun of authors and also the audience; it doesn't lend itself well to movie adaptation but it was funny as hell.

Final rating 6.5 to 7 out of 10. Solid, would recommend, but the stage musical is still better. Would listen to my CD of the show rather than watch again.

There's this option on Broadway that you put your name in a raffle for a show that day (I think? again, I was 12) and if you win the tickets (which are like the last few seats in the theater) are much cheaper. What if every time I hit a season finale (from season 3 on), the only song I could consciously play (while also forgoing my podcasts) was Carry On Wayward Son? Considering how little I've listened to music this year so far, I'm...thinking that might make it my TOP. SPOTIFY. SONG. OF. THE. YEAR. Should I do that? What if I made a poll? Should I make a poll? I'm gonna make a poll. (I have made a poll, and at time of posting 69% of voters want me to)

OMG OMG OMG. I'm just...Dean's literally lost his whole family at this point and the purpose in life John gave him (protect Sam). It's no wonder he's acting like this and lashing out and saying to Hell with the world.

i want to know how "something was born on the fourth of july" came about!

Oooooooo Carla this is a great question I literally squealed when I saw it lmao

More than one answer applies here. After I finished writing the first act of YVOR, I knew where things in that fic were headed and to save myself from what I like to call "New Ship Smut Anxiety" I figured writing something smutty for Fexi and posting it before I got to it in a 42 chapter long fic made sense. Like, a trial run I guess? So I could figure out how these two work for me writing a sex scene, and play around with their dynamic. I was doing it for SCIENCE.

But then a little lightbulb dinged over my head. What if I was able to play around with this specific version of Fez and Lexi in an alternate timeline to this universe I've created? But this specific bit in fezco II kinda sealed the deal for me -

The blue bubble next to her name is a perfect 200, but the last message was sent around the 4th of July, a month ago.

lexi: It’s crazy at home and I just wish I had you to talk to about it Fezco. You made everything feel better when it got out of hand here. - and I was off to the races with the idea. Fez mentions in his first chunk of POV in fourth of july that he's less worried about how high the number gets, but he's more concerned about the day the number stays the same. So it felt absolutely PERFECT to jump off from a point in YVOR, the 4th of July about a month prior to Lexi I, where Lexi stops trying to communicate with him and play a what if scenario here. I'm dropping the rest of the answer below a read more because it's admittedly spoilery to future YVOR chapters but not in a ruining my story way, just like, in a general information way that people might not want to see?

You know from lexi I that Cassie came home in July - and I've eluded to whatever broke her and Nate up for good being really bad. The thing is I know EXACTLY what caused their breakup, even though Lexi doesn't yet because it becomes relevant in ACT 2. So here's what I know that y'all dont know: The 4th of July party that Maddy drags Lexi to in SWBOTFOJ is the same party where Cassie and Nate break up at in YVOR. In the main timeline, Nate sends Cassie into the kitchen to get them drinks when he sees Maddy, but Lexi's not there to become the focus of Cassie's ire - Maddy is and it gets ugly quick in an entirely different way. I'll keep the specifics to myself for now, but something is said that causes Nate and Cassie to go at it, causing a big scene. This 4th of July party is going to be referenced in the next YVOR update as well, because in any universe it was a complete shit show.

I do realize I'm insane for putting this much detail into fanfic. I feel like I'm thinking way too much about all of this, but it is really fun for me, I swear. I love getting to world build, and that's what all these details really are, just me adding to my own lore.

My Thoughts on S1E1, "The Rising"

Ugggh, Nikki. My least favorite story arc in the show. Even with her redemption arc, even her face makes me mad.

I am soooo glad this awkward flirting is only in this episode. Mac and Nikki have never vibed with me.

JACK DALTON

"Who loves ya, baby?" We all do, Jack.

I always wished they would have played more into the original Mac's reason for not carrying a weapon - not just so he doesn't get caught but because he doesn't like them. That was actually one reason I used to be so upset at the reboot when it first came out. I still feel like Mac's character was off for this first episode - a little too cocky, not super developed. But still lovable, and with so much potential!

It's so cool to see how much Lucas has grown into this character over the years, really making it his own while still holding on to its essence.

Well, awesome re-watch of episode 1. Definitely not my favorite by a long shot, but so iconic and with some amazing moments! It just makes me that much more excited to get to see the show and the characters grow!

First he greeted me so sweetly and said he missed me 🥴 I told him I missed him as well and sadly couldn't see them perform recently, so he told me he was sorry, but we will definitely meet again and "noona we go way back, if I can say this now, I'm happy whenever I see fans who have been with us for a long time and didn't leave, thank you so much for your kind words, you're always very lovely to me. I hope you can rely on me and all of us in the times of sadness!" and I stopped functioning for a moment, almost teared up then thanked him and congratulated on a successful comeback and sprinkled some compliments in the middle and Hwa went "now I'm gonna cry" so I quickly showed him my Lego flowers, he was really happy and told me about the SW set he pre-ordered then asked if there's a set I really want to get and I was like "Real Madrid stadium" hahahha (gotta spread the Madridista agenda) and we talked about his time in Madrid for a moment.

Then I asked about his fave outfit during Guerrilla comeback and this man... he went "uh I'm showing a lot of *gestures to his bicep and proceeds to show it off* this time round, I think it's a bit scandalous" (side note but, man literally showed us his stomach and nipples before yet somehow his arms feel more illegal lol) and I was like "y-yeah... we can see, we like it" which definitely pleased him. Last thing was me asking about his fave moments from this year apart from touring and Seonghwa said "we get to film a lot of cool variety, seniors invited us to their shows, it's such an honour, like Sunmi sunbaenim - I was so nervous and happy" then I mentioned seeing Sunmi soon and Hwa got jealous lol, I also said I've been a fan of hers for almost 14 years and he went "wow noona has a lot of kpop experience, in 2008 I was...10" and I went "yeah, are you calling me old?" and boy went "😳" - flustering Seonghwa again mission accomplished. 💞

Yeah so that's basically it, he told me to have fun at the concert, but also "come and see Seonghwa soon" (he promised to come to me lol, I'll sue him if he doesn't). The fan call was actually 3 minutes??!?! I didn't know and at some point I wanted to wrap it up and Hwa told me we still had one minute to go, lmao.

kat talks: lucy - play

okay i was gonna do this like one of my usual 'kat talks - song/album' thingies but i cant i was so fully in love with this song that im scared to listen to the whole album. this was a lot more softer and.. bittersweet, melancholic than i had been expecting. i'd have thought that we would get at least something like flowering or snooze. just something fun and upbeat and adventurous. but in hindsight, this.. was such a nice title for this comeback. the album, titled childhood, makes me very.. [emotions]. i'm still yet to listen to it all, but i've heard the highlight medley and from memory most of it is very soft and gentle and nothing like their prior titles. which i guess really pulls everything full circle? or, half circle. but in a good way. especially paired with the play mv, ut really does feel like this kind of.. weighed down, tired song where one, now an adult, looks back and reminisces about their childhood. i have both a lot and yet nothing to say, for i'm still kind of caught up in the song and the gentle emotions it has. yall idk what the hell i'm saying but :( <3 also i just. gwangil singing [cries softly]
