Inuyasha & Demisexuality
i think halfway into writing this i thought about just cramming all my thoughts into a semi-coherent rant due to a combination of a.) lack of access to decent translations of the manga and b.) paranoia about over-analyzing scenes and coming off as delusional (i think by now it's probably too late to thwart that claim) buuut this headcanon in particular is near and dear to me so i want to try and get as in depth as possible.
what is demisexuality?
in simple terms, demisexuality is when an individual doesn't experience primary attraction - that is, the sort of attraction based on immediate observable (often physical) characteristics - and instead only experiences secondary attraction first: the type of attraction that forms after the development of a deep emotional bond.
inuyasha and kikyo
this aforementioned term perfectly describes inuyasha and his relationships with the only women he's ever loved romantically. you could make the claim that his inability to feel primary attraction first stems from his trust issues and not inherent sexual orientation. and to that, i would disagree - he and kikyo develop an emotional bond despite an unspoken lack of trust, which may have improved had naraku not meddled in their lives. still, both find solace in each other's similarities, loneliness, and "outlier" status (though the similarities are in isolation only, if i'm being completely honest) and establish a connection that persists post-revival.
inuyasha eventually did start to feel primary attraction to kikyo during their time together - in the second chapter of the manga, when he compares kagome to her, he states that kikyo "looked pretty."
[source - viz. i haven't been in this fandom long, but what i've gathered is that there are a lot of mis-translations of this manga, even from viz. since i have yet to buy physical copies of the manga and don't have an account for the site, i'm going to be using fan-scans for the rest of these, which hopefully won't really affect what i'm trying to convey since i'll be looking at character expressions rather than dialogue for most of them.]
i'd also note the order in which he lists those traits: kikyo looked intelligent and pretty. her intelligent appearance is the first part of her he remembers, which i think underscores his priorities in this regard. he values things like intelligence and companionship - facets that come to light when developing secondary attraction towards someone - more than aspects of primary attraction.
inuyasha and kagome
as mentioned before, demisexuals don't feel physical attraction before establishing a tight emotional bond. the most blatant examples i could think of this were any instances in which inuyasha sees kagome nude and his difference in reaction - in particular, during the yura of the hair and togenkyo arcs, which are roughly seventy-three chapters apart. there are two new moons in that time, and from that we can say at least two months have passed.
chapter six: yura of the hair
kagome's bathing below him, and i'm sorry, but this expression literally screams "zero fucks given." he does not care in the slightest. not a blush. not a spot of red on his cheeks. not a sweatdrop. not a tee-hee. if i were to describe what he's feeling in this moment i would say "extreme ire." when she uses the sit command on him, it's on the assumption that he's "peeking," but kaede understands that it's actually because inuyasha is trying to steal a shard of the shikon jewel.
"huh?" - he sounds genuinely confused that she reached that conclusion, even though he was quite literally peering over the cliff's edge in what obviously has very perverse connotations. it's almost like he doesn't understand why kagome would think his actions come from a place of sexual attraction because that sort of thing just isn't on his mind at all, and he doesn't get why it would be in the first place.
another extremely blatant example can be see in miroku's introductory chapter: chapter 51, the delinquent priest:
do i even have to say anything. this scene also further emphasizes my previous point - before, the only reason he was there was to try and steal kagome's jewel shard. if his true intentions had been driven by primary attraction, this would have been an opportune moment to "peep." in his words, however, he just isn't interested. note that he could have said something along the lines of "i wouldn't do something like that" (which, if he was attracted to her in that way from the start, wouldn't have done anyway) but specifically i'm not interested. the primary attraction is not there in the slightest. at least, not until:
chapter eighty two: fateful night in togenkyo
the scene i'm talking about needs no introduction, but for context: kagome's half-freaking out after having woken up in a sake bath. inuyasha breaks down the door to come and rescue her, accidentally seeing her naked in the process. well, i'm sure his reaction won't be that dif-
...it's only one panel-
okay, two-
i think at this point it's fairly obvious that primary attraction has developed. besides the fact that he's spent three panels trying not to look like he's having a quasi allergic reaction, it's been approximately two months since they've met, and by now they've definitely formed the deep emotional bond required for him to begin feeling any primary attraction at all. in fact, the chapter where he tells kagome "there's no replacement for you" - that chapter, where he's vulnerable and honest and opening up to her, strengthening their bond further, (ch. 78, a tender smell) is directly before the togenkyo arc begins, and, thus, just before these scenes occur. these chapters have all been building up secondary attraction, and now that primary attraction is just starting to show up.
several chapters later we have this iconic panel from 173:
this is such a look of awe, as though he's gazing up at a goddess. jaw dropped, eyes-wide, words trailing off awe. he's entranced. fully head-over-heels in love, feeling both primary and secondary attraction in regards to kagome, and this trend only continues throughout the entirety of the manga.
conclusion + extra thoughts
my belief in this headcanon comes from not just the evidence depicted above, but because i just related a ton reading those scenes. i found myself just nodding along (as someone who's demisexual themselves!) plus, since ace-spectrum representation is so rare, it's nice to see it reflected in a character whose story and relationships i love dearly.

So this is just a question out of curiosity . So I first found you from the comic where Bandana Dee and Morpho fuse, and I really liked it (even inspired me to attempt to make my own Morpho Magolor character). But now I'm wondering, if it's part of an AU, what IS the AU exactly. Like what's different about Kirby, Bandana Dee, and some of the others here?
hi there, thank you so much!!
I'm glad you enjoyed that comic and the idea of the morpho fusions; they're very fun to play around with! the chrysalis au is less of an entire developed alternate world state, and more of a what-if scenario
(another cheeky lil' image from the vault! this is a slightly older/less detailed design before i'd figured out what i was doing with the markings on the visor and the spear and the larger open patches on the wings to make them more fragile, etcetera)
the main thing is probably that i headcanon morpho as 1) actively targeting kirby in this au, and 2) being capable of 'possessing' someone without permanently killing or absorbing them
additionally i like to think that each possession could look different, based on who is absorbed and why. in morpho dee's case, he is minimally changed (and minimally armoured) on purpose by morpho: to make it harder for his friends to effectively battle him
kirby, bandee, and the others are all mostly unchanged up until bandee's run in with the butterfly. and after that it's obviously extremely tragic and stressful a rescue mission!!
maybe i'll eventually come back to add more depth of plot to this au, but for now i think the tasty parts of this one are delivered in the active conflict rather than the world state itself!
as for other fusions, i'd love to see yours if you make one! I've considered a magolor one myself, but i recall seeing one some time ago that was so phenomenal i'm scared to even try; though do you think i can find it now to link it... ? no 😭
i do however have others from alternate endings of this au....!

Just want to bring up a question about the Grom curse thing, this implies that a curse can be made by can be made per se by strong emotions. This also may have given Belos the idea of "the dangers of wild magic" he could've conveniently corrupted people who posed a great threat to him. just a thought
Oooooh!!
I'm hesitant to call Grometheus' fate a curse because I can't say for certain if that's what it is. TOH is kinda vague about how curses in this universe work or what defines them.
It's never clarified if Belos' problem is technically a curse like he claims or just some stupid shit he did to himself, without considering the possibility that the glyph/palisman magic might be uncooperative with his (at the time) human body.
I don't imagine that what Grometheus endured was a traditional curse like Eda but rather, something more similar to Darius (and maybe Belos a bit too)
Alright so, this is just a headcanon but I've always figured that this talent Darius has for shifting his whole body, flesh, bones and all, into goo mode wouldn't be like. Standard abomination magic stuff. This track is the study of controlling goo, not becoming goo. So, the stuff he's pulling off here is near impossible for any normal witch.
So, in my opinion, Darius is simply not normal. He was born with a capacity for magic that is far beyond that of a normal witch and equates to being extremely powerful. Anyway his mastery over abominations became so natural to him, as simple as breathing that his physical body went through an innate "transfusion" of sorts where he basically became one with his magic.
Cases like these are very rare and usually only crop up if a witch has bonded their soul to one specific area of magic. So if goo is what's making Darius' bile sac overheat, goo is what he's gonna be.
So, for example, another born powerful witch like Eda, who is a jack of all trades, wouldn't have developed something like this (even if her curse hadn't hindered her.) because there's too many spells and techniques being practised but no outright obsession that is being mastered enough to completely dilute her bloodstream.
Well, possibly. It's unknown if a witch can achieve this form with mixed magic. The condition is rare enough that not a lot of data has been collected yet.
Giuls and me have been exploring the same idea with Willow
(There's a lot more in-depth biological details about how this whole thing works but Giuls will probably talk more about all that at some point)
Anyway!! Grometheus!!
So, what I imagine is that Darius is an example of a successful fusion between physical form and magic, while Grometheus was an example of the same thing Gone Terribly Wrong.
See, in Darius' case, he managed to achieve a perfect union between his own sense of identity and the magic that had become part of him.
But in Grometheus' case, that did not happen.
They began as person who collected the essence of others for their research. They hoarded fears inside their own mind for years and years, maybe even decades. That's thousands and thousands of souls that they stole those fears from.
That's far too much for a normal witch to handle. But Grometheus was not a normal witch. They were powerful enough to endure it. Or at least they thought.
It was too much. Far too much. It was like deathly bacteria damaging everything inside of you. A slow and steady rot. Think food that's gone bad that's been there for months. That was the magic inside of Grometheus.
I dont imagine that this corruption was directly caused by Grometheus' negative emotions. But rather, those emotions weakened their resistance to the swarming fear that was consuming them. Maybe if they had been stronger or happier or had people around who reminded them why they were alive, they could have realized what was happening before it was too late.
There still would have been long lasting damages. But they may have been able to find the balance between themself and the magic and kept their identity intact.
But soon enough, the fear ate away at everything else that remained of Grometheus. They lost who they were. They didn't know who they had ever been.
They were no longer a witch who collected fears. They were simply the vessel for fear itself.
It's a little unclear what this ask means but I don't imagine that Belos was the one who corrupted Grometheus, if that's what it's implying. Although yes, he probably would have used this case as effective propaganda.
At the time of Grometheus' corruption, this concept of physical form and magic fusion was unheard of. No cases had been documented yet. So Belos could conveniently twist it as an example of the dangers of wild magic.
However, as times changed and studies continued, this condition became more well known in the Healing Coven as a perfectly natural (if rare) biological evolution.
Sadly, it had not yet been theorized that Grometheus' case was anything other than a reckless use of wild magic, rather than a condition that wound up destroying them because nobody knew enough to help.
The truth doesn't come to light until after their vessel was slain in the Hexside arena, but they were hardly still alive in there anyway. The truth is delivered by Gus Porter, who saw everything through their eyes during that one moment where he dissected them with his amplifier mirror.
So now, Gus has absorbed it all. The thousands upon thousands of fears all melted together into a sickening tarry contamination. Gus inherits everything that consumed Grometheus and now it resides in his own mind.
And that's where we currently stand and now the question hangs in the air. Can Gus achieve a successful physical and magical transfusion the way Darius did? Or is he in danger of losing himself to the rot?

THE TERUHASHI KOKOMI DOCUMENT (that I forgot I made for like, the past 2 months lmao)
This is a thing I made almost in one sitting while listening to this playlist by CASP, It literally is the best character playlist i've ever seen, it resumes her character arch so well!!
Enough said, he's the thing:
Part 1: Introduction
Kokomi Teruhashi is my favorite character from saiki k. As much as I see myself in Saiki or find characters like Kaido and Akechi funny, no other character has grasped my attention like teruhashi. Her bits were funny, she had some of the most interesting dynamics with other characters, mainly Saiki, and she was the one of the characters that best reflected the themes of the series together with Kusuo.
So, seeing the utmost love I have for her character, you can probably imagine my surprise to find out how so many people who have “watched” the show simply hate her. Some will say she’s annoying, some will say she’s narcissistic, mean or a bitch. Some will hate her for getting in the way of their headcanons or for any other reason you can easily see flowing around. Even worse, this teruhashi hate is not a small minority but quite a big amount of the fandom, to the point that teruhashi lovers will tag any teruhashi positive posts with the saiteru tag, even with the ship not present, so that the few teruhashi lovers from the ship can see it.
In this essay I will firstly analyze Teruhashi’s character, mostly from the anime as I have not read the manga, and after that I will point out some of the reasons people say they hate the character and after question the real reasons behind this hate.
Part 2: The perfect pretty girl:
Teruhashi, like most characters in the show, gets introduced as a shallow character. The whole joke at first is the expectation breaking that comes from Saiki’s power: the perfect pretty girl does not have a perfect personality like we would expect. She is overly aware of her beauty and uses it to benefit herself. She gets surprised by someone simply ignoring it, to the point of becoming obsessed with Saiki without even knowing his actual name.
Her characterization at the beginning of the series is very straight forward, she is a living illusion, a egocentric person who will manipulate people to get what she wants using her beauty, while pretending to be perfect in all aspects. Most of her jokes come from the absurd levels of power she demonstrates because of her appearance or from Saiki running away from her love schemes, as he doesn’t want all the attention that Kokomi brings with her.
At first, like ALL characters in the first season, Teruhashi is not painted in a good or deep light, mostly being very exaggerated in her worse traits and being targeted by Saiki’s funny remarks. This is the way the show first introduces us to characters. Nendo simply starts as the stupid one, Kaido is the shy and awkward Chuunibyou, Yumehara is the love crazy girl and so on. Here is where I personally find most Teruhashi haters get their distaste from, even though, as it will be further analyzed later, there are still some questionable things about the amount of hate this version of the character gets.
At this point in the series most characters are there only to be funny, without too much depth. But, as the season continues, the show starts to allow its characters to gain more depth. As much as Teruhashi still continues to mostly stay as the “perfect pretty girl who actually has a bad personality deep inside” we finally start seeing more depth to her during the later half of the first season. We start to see her develop friendships with Yumehara and the others, allowing us to see more of her personality than just her crush on Saiki and her contradictory personality, even if those are still the main focus of the character.
But, as with most characters in the show, there is a very important change in tone after season two. We do not see Teruhashi Kokomi simply as the pretty perfect girl, but we actually get to see a bit more than that.
Part 3: The real girl
Kokomi Teruhashi is, above anything else, simply a girl. And that fact gets more and more obvious as we continue in the series. Her behavior that appears perfect is a mask, her thoughts that were very judged by Saiki in the beginning become clearly normal thoughts a teenager would have. Even the way she weaponizes her beauty: we see how all of that is placed on top of a real, normal human girl.
Kokomi uses people as much as she is used, we get to see clearly how hard it is to “be perfect”, and how much it is expected of her. She isn’t allowed privacy even in her own home (I WILL NOT TALK ABOUT HIM), she isn’t allowed to have common hobbies and behaviors, any change she makes to her appearance is seen and judged and she is not treated like a normal person. The show starts to deconstruct the idea that Teruhashi is faking her perfection out of malice or narcissism, giving us a new view of it.
We see Teruhashi’s internal thoughts: how she thinks she's giving people happiness, how she knows people expect her to embody perfection, how she knows the responsibility and power she got from birth. It changes her relationship with her beauty, no longer is she abusing it, but simply taking back as much as it is taken from her.
With A LOT of the jokes in the anime, when thinking about them for a little bit, some things become concerning: this 16 years old girl is certain that people will get depressed if she doesn’t show up and perform her perfection (which we know to be true seeing how they all react when she is simply sick), this 16 years old girl is sure that giving chocolates to her crush will start world war three (which, even if we see it as hyperbole, is taken completely seriously by her, and whatever it would actually happen or not is irrelevant, as she feels responsible to stop it even at the cost of her happiness). We see time and time again how much she constantly feels responsible for others feelings and actions, completely changing the reason we think she puts up an act.
Not only that, but we see how much she appreciates being treated as a normal person. Her crush on Saiki, born initially from spite, becomes genuine affection as she grows fond of him mainly because he treats her like she is not special. Of course she hated it at first, she never knew what being treated like a person was! Not only that, Teruhashi feels that she is responsible for others happiness, and here she sees a boy that isn’t happy to see her. As much as it hurts her pride, which is the way Saiki sees the situation, it also directly hits the only thing she sees as her worth, as her responsibility.
Kokomi at first seems very prideful, and it would be a lie to say she isn’t, but mostly we see how to a certain extend that was a side effect of her mask, and as she gets more and more used to being treated like a normal person, especially by Saiki and Yumehara, she starts to care less about it, even allowing herself to make a “mistake” by forgetting a random thing about what a boy changed after fainting from exhaustion trying to be perfect.
Yumehara herself is one of the most important characters for Teruhashi’s growth. We do not know much about Kokomi’s past, but she clearly doesn’t have a lot of friends at the start or before the series. She, as all of Saiki’s friends, is deeply lonely, as even though she is popular she isn’t close to anyone. That is, before she and Yumehara become friends.
Part 4: Being human
One of the main challenges we see Saiki going through the series is his feelings of alienation from the rest of humanity. He doesn’t feel human, always feels like he is different from others and needs to put on a mask to exist in society. We also see this mentality slowly being melted away by having friends, as they pretty much grab Kusuo by the neck and throw him away from this idea, by showing him love and understanding. This is one of the most important themes of the story, and one Kokomi Teruhashi embodies just as well.
Teruhashi at the start pretty much lived simply to fulfill the role that was given to her by society at her birth: be as perfect as she looked. Boys were too shy to interact meaningfully with her while girls were too intimidated to be friends. When people did talk to her it was mostly to compliment her on her appearance or to try and get something out of her. That at first changes with Saiki.
This random boy from her class, a boy that she still finds the need to make a little happier with her presence (a thing that has ALWAYS happened since she was born), a boy she doesn’t even know the name of. This boy simply gave no fucks about her beauty. He saw Kokomi like he saw everybody else, both in appearance and personality, so he treated her like he did everyone else: indifference.
Of course Teruhashi doesn’t believe it, something like that never happened before. Of course her first reaction is that something is wrong and that she needs to fix it. At this point she is so immersed in her mask that she can’t even see it is not her real self. And the more she tries the more Saiki treats her like a normal human being.
Then we get the second most important character for Teruhashi’s growth: Yumehara. Yumehara is the first girl we see that not only decides to treat Kokomi as a normal human being, but also to be her friend. We clearly see both of them struggle at first, as Yumehara finds it weird to talk to “the perfect girl” and Teruhashi simply has no experience talking with girls. But we see them building a relationship, caring for eachother and, most importantly, we see Teruhashi being allowed to be a normal girl.
With both of them by her side Kokomi slowly starts to truly become herself, gaining a bigger possibility then the role she had been put since birth. And with time even her other friends in the group start to treat her more and more like a human being. From Hairo and Mera (aroace icons fr) that don’t seem to really care about her beauty, to Kaido and Nendo, who even if they do care about it still end up treating Teruhashi as a friend first.
We can clearly see how much this connections change
Teruhashi's mindset: she becomes less egotistical while still being aware of her beauty, she understands what's more important to her than her perfection, she finally starts to understand that she is allowed to be human.
Part 5: Parallels painted pink and blue
It is so easy to think of Teruhashi’s crush on Saiki as any other joke, like Yumeharas, but there is a very important reason why she and Saiki are placed side by side so much: they are perfect mirrors.
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K is a show about loneliness. Not the psychic powers of quirky people, the main thing everyone in the cast has in common is that they are all deeply lonely. Kaido, Nendo and Kuboyasu are social outcasts, Yumehara and Mera while not being isolated by their peers are also not very social with them, and Hairo, even though he’s popular, doesn’t have anyone to match his freak energy. They all find connection in their weird little friends group. And in this group there are two opposite but mirroring characters: Saiki Kusuo and Teruhashi Kokomi.
Saiki doesn’t feel human, but like a monster. He feels disconnected from his peers as he was born with powerful abilities that, while they can be used for personal gain, he feels responsible to hide as a way to keep others safe. So, he wears a mask of normalcy, not allowing anybody near him and hiding everything that makes him special. He has to deal with the weight and troubles of hiding a part of himself from others, and finds it difficult to show it even to those he knows would accept him.
Teruhashi doesn’t feel human, but like a goddess or an angel. She feels disconnected from her peers as she was born with a powerful beauty that, as it is impossible to hide, she feels responsible to make it as visible and perfect as possible, in an attempt to make others happy. So, she wears a mask of perfection, making it impossible for people to completely get close to her as she hides everything that makes her normal. She has to deal with the weight and troubles of hiding a part of herself from others, and finds it difficult to separate between her mask and herself.
They both grew up with a similar problem: they were alienated from others because of their uniqueness. But, both diverge at the fact that Saiki can hide his powers, while Teruhashi can’t. So while Kusuo fights a part of himself until he doesn’t see it as part of him, Kokomi is eaten by her mask, confusing herself with the mask she wears.
Both characters force each other to confront the truth, as Saiki needs his powers to keep up with Teruhashi and she is unable to mask in front of him. By their similarities they both push each other to become more in tune with their humanity.
Even their real personalities are similar, both being mean to others in their heads while acting very kindly in the end. Both are absurdly competitive, stubborn and even childish at times. They are both good but flawed people, who lost touch with their humanity as it was taken away from them by others because of their unique traits. Even if dealing with it in completely opposite ways, both are, at their core, very similar characters. They are the two who can understand each other the best, having similar problems, from god like abilities and bad brothers (I WILL NOT TALK ABOUT HIM)
Part 6: The haters
Here is where my main problems with Teruhashi haters lie. While anyone is entitled to like or dislike any character, the characteristics that are targeted on Teruhashi are, at its core, characteristics that are very clearly present on Saiki. But, when Teruhashi shows them instead of the protagonist they become a problem.
Saiki is a self-centered guy, who will do everything in his power to avoid others. He is constantly mean to his friends and strangers in his head while being quiet on the outside. Saiki constantly makes it clear, especially in the first episodes, how he needs to lower his abilities, be it physical or intellectual, to keep being normal, because he is better than his peers at both.
Kokomi does the same, she is self-centered and does everything in her power to get what she wants. She is constantly mean to others in her head while being nice on the outside. She makes it constantly clear that she is prettier than her peers and she does not hide it.
They both have the same unlikable characteristics. but they get framed differently by both the show and the fandom. Saiki can be mean in his head, because if he doesn’t say anything he isn’t being fake, while Kokomi deciding to be nice to others is bad? If Kusuo uses his birth giving abilities to avoid people and manipulate situations it's relatable because he’s being a introvert, while if Teruhashi uses his birth giving beauty and luck (that works in the same level as Saiki’s powers) to get someone’s attention and manipulate situations she is manipulative and a bitch?
And it’s not only traits she shares with Saiki that are badly seen. She is annoying to Saiki and never leaves him alone? So is Nendo, but when she does it it’s bad, even though we know Saiki never went and rejected any of his friends' affection directly. People will say she can’t take no for an answer when no was never said to her.
People expect a character who’s whole life was told she is perfect to not think she is. People expect a character who’s been given everything she wants her whole life to not expect that? Saiko thinks exactly that, and like Teruhashi starts to learn that things are not like that, but he still will default to thinking this. But when he does it’s not a problem, but when Teruhashi does it she is entitled and bad.
Like it was said before, disliking a character is something anyone can do for whatever reason, but I do find it important to analyze why you hate a character, especially if the reasons you give are only a problem when given to a confident female character. The whole point of her bit is that, the fact she knows she is beautiful and uses it to her favor is something that would surprise and get people mad, and seeing it be realized by people outside the anime makes it ever so clear why her characters has such a hard time being true to herself. If she didn’t pretend to be perfect the hate that she receives from the fandom would be very similar to the hate she would receive in her world.
But then the question becomes why? In a show full of self-centered characters, who are inconvenient, who are entitled, who are arrogant, why is Teruhashi the one who gets the most hate for any of these characteristics? While I do believe for some people they just didn’t find her bit funny, I do really think that for most it was simply misogyny. She is a confident woman who knows and uses her beauty to get what she wants. In real life women like this will get targeted and harassed, they are hated simply because they don’t act “pure and innocent” as it is expected, as it is completely shown in the show through Teruhashi. She is a character molded by misogynistic stereotypes, and while I do think the show does well in using them while criticizing it, a big portion of the fandom simply was not able to see this character without the lenses of misogyny the character itself is made to criticize.
I find it to be very important to analyze why you hate Teruhashi if you do so. Did you not find her funny or were you bothered by a woman showing character flaws? Did you get annoyed she got in the way a ship you think is better? While I cannot convince everyone to stop hating a fictional character, I urge you to ask yourself WHY do you dislike her, and to see if you dislike male characters with the same flaws you say you hate.
Part 7: The tragedy of Teruhashi Kokomi
Of course, it does sound a bit contradictory for me to say that “anyone is entitled to like or dislike any character” and then write a big ass dissertation on why you should not hate Teruhashi. But there is a big reason why I really wanted to do this: I really really love her character.
It's tiring to see many many people hate on a well written character, and sadly, the reason she is hated is BECAUSE she is well written. The show doesn’t say out loud that Teruhashi is fine, that she is a normal teenage girl that was cursed with unending beauty in a world that will never allow her to acknowledge it. The social behaviors criticized by her character are only made more explicit by the way a portion of the fandom treats her, and sadly, that was inevitable with a character like her.
So in the end I can only hope to see more positive things about her in the future, as I do love this character as much as I do Saiki. And even though I know people will still hate Kokomi, I hope some people can see what a great character she actually is.
#saiki k#the disastrous life of saiki k#kokomi teruhashi#saiki kusuo#I kinda want to make this into a video essay but my english is TRASH#cause tumblr isn't the biggest place with kokomi haters so nothing here is particularly new for y'all lol#but i found the writing here ok so i decided to post it instead of letting this rot in my docs#if im being fair I could talk about kokomi A LOT MORE#especially I could probably make a “paralles painted pink and blue” document just gashing on how kusuo and kokomi are paralles to each othe

Hey... might be a weird question and I'm sorry for asking out of nowhere....but I kinda wanted to know what your thoughts are on Connor-60. I mean I really like your fics and takes on dbh and I might be remembering wrong but I think I saw a tag on one of your posts saying you liked Sixty too? I really love Sixty so I guess I just got a bit too excited. How exactly do you see his character? Plus, if Hank didn't shoot him, do you think there could have been a happy ending for him? I mean the angst potential with him is pretty great, and I don't really agree with how usually Sixty is seen as "the knife guy". I just wanted to know your thoughts on him, if that's okay! Sorry for rambling ^^'
Oh my goodness, hello! No need for an apology. You read my fics??? That alone just made my day.
Yes, I have a great deal of appreciation for Connor-60. Obviously, he's a bastard (like all of the Connors), but what I love is the irony of this gigantic chasm between the appearance he tries to put forth and what is clearly a tumultuous and deeply conflicted internal world. It's the most obvious in that ending where he shoots Connor about ten times, that he isn't simply trying to accomplish his mission - he HATES Connor. But the fact that he's immediately engaging in a relatively courteous chat with Hank right after, and his obvious frustration when he actually is forced to kill Hank, plus how he defines Connor as a "he" rather than an "it", all point to the fact that he's just as emotional as Connor, only in a messed-up way.
I have a shit ton of headcanon built around Connor-60, and I've outlined a possible fic about it, but the plot is very bizarre and convoluted, probably too much to discuss in a post (but my DMs are open! don't be shy, I'd love to get some feedback on the plot). The basic concept started out simple enough. C-60 is defective because some kind of unusual manufacturing error imbued him with a mental imbalance. When they're testing and training the various Connor models (60 is activated before 51 due to some clerical error), they tell C-60 to try out the gun for some target practice, and he shoots one of his instructors without giving it a second thought. He expresses regret, but everyone at the company concludes that he's a psychopath, and that he can never be fit to go into the field, and instead they keep him around to perform experiments on. So C-60 is their guinea pig for the various deviancy counter-measures put into C-51, and he never has the chance to bond with anyone or actually do the job he was intended to do, and he's really bitter about that. There is one exception, but Connor-51 brings an end to that, and that's a big part of the plot of my potential fic.
Also, as for whether he can have redemption, I believe that he can even within canon. In the scene where Connor sacrifices Hank and then "transfers" with C-60, to me I don't view that as a consciousness transfer per se. I mean, how would that even work? It's more like Connor literally gives his life to C-60. They already share a lot of the same memories, but Connor absorbs C-60's memories of his troubled past, and he fills out C-60's memories of Hank with emotional depth. That's why Connor seems so weirdly dissociated while Hank is dying - it's still C-60. He knows that he just shot this man, but now is very upset about it, and that is a very strange feeling to know how to cope with.
As for in the happy ending, if Hank and Connor somehow incapacitated instead of shooting him - yes, I think he could have a happy ending there too. The way that I think of him, there is a fundamental failure to be able to feel the emotional weight of his actions and experience empathy. So that would be a lifelong struggle for him. But he cares about developing friendships enough to learn how to be more kind, even if it doesn't come naturally, and he can also form telepathic connections with other Connor models which help him to develop empathy.
That's just my personal take, and I'm sure lots of others might have different opinions which are just as valid!
But thank you for asking :)

Soul Eater NOT - part 5 (MAJOR SPOILERS)
Ox, Kim, and Jackie. This felt like a combination of providing neat backstory that did in fact feel valuable, but also frankly a bit of the author living out his lesbian teen fetishes. Let's start with the positives, which are many!
Of the many reasons a person should read the Soul Eater manga canon, Ox Ford is one of them. In the anime he's played more for laughs, but in the manga we get to see his depth (which I won't go into here since this is about NOT). This depth is elaborated on in NOT. But we have to back up first to Kim...
Kim is shown to have arrived at the academy with long gorgeous hair, sailor suit, and sweet disposition that gained her instant popularity. Even a major fan club! But trying to avoid attention, she cut off all her hair and became a bully. She manipulates people and steals from them on the regular, the reason being to try to keep everyone at arm's length so she can keep her secret (she's a witch with healing powers).
Back to Ox... He is just as devoted to her as in SE, and he works extra jobs to earn back the money she steals and return it to her victims in secret! And he tells these people not to hold it against Kim, that she's really a good person and there's gotta be something else going on. Ox Ford, you wonderful human... Anyone who has only seen the anime may find this strange, but once you read the SE manga which gives him a LOT of attention and character development of his own apart from Kim, and you see that all of this is fully in line with the fantastic character he is.
Now we come to Jackie... Poor, confused girl. Presented entirely differently from the spitfire she is in the SE manga. Here, she's a conservatively dressed, straight-edged, rule-following girl and she's already in the EAT class, while Kim is in the NOT class. Her journey is all about wanting to be partnered with Kim, and wondering why she's so fixated on this. Is it love? Is it protectiveness? Is it simply one of those things that's meant to be? Soulmates, as it were.
The long and short of it is, Jackie spots Kim using her witch powers to heal an injured dog. Kim confesses everything, and Jackie agrees to keep her secret if they're partners. It's all very soft and not at all blackmail... And Jackie concludes that protectiveness and a heart for the underdog is her motive for wanting to be Kim's partner. Later in the manga, Kim denounces the partnership but still hangs out with Jackie, which Jackie teases her about. A hinting at deeper feelings?
Comment - overall I really enjoy this bit of backstory, except I think there were a few missteps.
With what we see of Kim's desperation to hide her witch side in SE canon to the point she runs away when found out and joins Arachne, I don't think she'd have simply confessed and given in to Jackie. Besides, she couldn't stand Jackie in the story! I think it would have been more in line with Kim's established personality to have her frankly just killed Jackie after she found out.
I do think the argument could be made that if meisters and weapons are soulmates, if there's truly a best match out there for everyone, that perhaps an instinct is what led Kim to confess and be merciful. But that would be headcanon.
Additionally, we never see Jackie lose her hard edge and turn into the fierce spitfire she is in the SE manga. Not even a hint of this appears in NOT. Again, one can headcanon it happened over time, but it would have been a really great to start to see that shift begin here, in my opinion.
And this is where it comes back to...the author just wanted to write lesbian teen romance (Kim and Jackie are exhibit B... Exhibit A are...the three main characters, who I've yet to mention). Overall though, the story of these three characters was very well done.

*siiiiiigh* Soooooo, first of all, I would like to apologise to @jencsi for taking so long to answer the ask. But then of course when I want to answer it, Tumblr has it made it disappear. So anyway I'm posting as a post. This is for the character asks thing. Jen asked all questions for Gil Grissom.
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
EVERYTHING???????
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
HOW DO I PICK WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY ANSWERS????????
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
HOW DO I PICK WHEN THERE ARE NO ANSWERS????????
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
Sherlock Holmes 🤷🏻♀️
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
youtube
I know that I'm the resident Linkin Park fan, and I'm all over 9x05, but, LOATR is just about one particular aspect of his life. It doesn't encapsulate the full depth of him. And, honestly, that's what I really hope that I captured in my video. It's basically a marriage proposition to him at this point. I hope I did the song and him justice.
(I am using Leave Out All the Rest this year though (: )
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
Autistic. Hearing impaired. Misanthropic humanist. I love bugs because of him. I'm learning to sign because of him. I got into CSI because I love bioscience. Ghost/social outcast until we find the right people. Struggle with emotions and relationships, and ultimately learning to choose love over fear (which is, one again, something I learned from him. If he can do it, so can I. The fact that my role model is a fictional being). Bullied because of being nerdy. Bullied because of "weirdness" aka autism. We're uncomfortable around people but care very deeply about them, especially if they're our loved ones. Honestly a lot of it is the autism and everything that comes with it.
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
Lemme just say, boy am I glad I am on the we want to fuck that old man website. Because, at first, I was embarrassed and self-conscious that I was in love with someone much older than me (hence why I love GSR; it gives me so much more confidence), but then as I got into the tumblr fandom I saw that I'm not alone. So thank you everyone.
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
When people hate him overall for the way he treated Sara well in the early seasons. Like, hello *gestures to his whole development arc* you see this? Or were we not watching the same show?
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Oh my god it's gonna be so fucking quiet. For once in our lives we'll have someone who'll actually respect our sensitivity/stimulation needs and not belittle us.
10. Could you be best friends with this character?
We're two of a kind.
11. Would you date this character?
I WANNA MARRY HIM!!!!!!!!!
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
His father's name is Arthur, since that's his middle name, and it's not uncommon for catholics to make their first name the middle name of their child. And irl Billy's dad is named Arthur Edward Petersen, and his brother is Arthur Petersen Jr.
13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?
🐛🐜🐞🦗🪲🕷️
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)
GSR
16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?
Someone jokingly tagged a post with [#otp: i have bugs in my office] and while I'm glad it's not an actual ship...yeah I'm glad it's not. It gave me fucking whiplash.
17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?
Grillows. I'm actually multiship. I ship GSR, Grillows and Kessom. I've even been okay roleplaying Grissom/Nick with someone in the past, and I'm also okay with Warrick and Greg being shipped with him. Hell I even find him being dopey with Teri Miller cute XD
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
Catherine. #brotp: it will play our song forever
19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?
I wanna say Ecklie but that's like, everything about him
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
If not Cath then Heather XD
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I love loving him. I write my stories with him with so much love and care. And I'm proud that my audience say it's obvious how much I love him.
I don't like him being hurt so I never write it. Like, I'll just say it: I'm glad it was Nick who got caught in Grave Danger and not Gil. If it had been him I...I don't know what I would've done. Even though I'd have known that he was gonna be fine in the end, during the process I'd break down, no matter how many times I've watched it. The thought of him being hurt just...I can't say it. Sorry Nick, I love you too but Gil...Gil is the most special to me.
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?
I love when people write about his disabilities. His hearing impairment, how he signs, his experience speaking both English and ASL. His social and emotional struggles because of his autism.
My dislike would be when people write him as allosexual... 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
23. Favorite picture of this character?
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
Sherlock Holmes
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
First impression: wow he's so cool and smart and good at science. I wanna learn from him.
Now: Will you marry me?
26. Freebie question.
Extra headcanon: along with riding a rollercoaster with someone every 9 years and 34 days because that's how old he was when his dad passed, his favourite is the Mosaic because his parents took him on it for his 9th birthday. Then a month later Arthur kicked the bucket, so Gil likes the memory of his father.

Helloooo, hope it's ok if I reply here! Also I forgot to apologize in advance for my terrible English, hope it's understandable!
What a relief to find someone who actually understands Kaiser! He's one of my absolute favs together with Rin and Isagi, but I never really spoke much about him since I noticed the fandom has a bad habit of misinterpreting him. AND Kaisagi in general. No, Isagi is not his soft-uwu toyboy, he's a badass, a menace and if anything, it's him that would put Kaiser in his place. And yes, they totally hate each other. Like, super hate. And that borderlines on obsession from Kaiser's part. (Ngl, that's my favorite part in all Isagi's ships, how he's unbothered, moisturized, living his best life, and the counterpart is decaying in their obsession in beating him. God, he's such an icon.) Their mutual disdain is what makes the ship so balanced, and also the reason why I dislike Kainess, I don't really appreciate the power imbalance and how submissive Ness acts around him. He deserves better than that. Oh, how I would love to see him leave Kaiser in the dirt to fight alone: that would be such a great character development for both of them. Ofc I'm not judging anyone who ships Kainess, it's a perfectly valid ship! I just love both Kiis and Rnis cause they check all of the boxes of the chemicals in my brain. And when the Kaiser flashbacks drops? I'm gonna go absolutely crazy. I need to be the worm in his brain and understand him in a much deeper way than Kaneshiro ever could.
(Also, I love your headcanon about their alternative jobs. I tried to come up with something for Rin too, and I concluded that he definitely could only ever work in front of a computer, where he would never have to interact with people - and traumatize them with his weird bullshit, lmao). (Oh, and Kaiser would be an even worse boyfriend than Rin, let's be real. One small argument and he's dumping your ass to ""find himself"" like any mediocre fuckboy).
Yes, despite my BLLK obsession I'm keeping up with other mangas! I've been reading One Piece since I was a child, but lately I got invested in Chainsaw man, Choujin X, Kagurabachi, Bungou stray dogs and My hero academia, too. What about you??
Of course, it's totally okay!!
And hello fellow Kaiser fan, great to meetcha!!
And yes. A lot of people mischaracterise Kaiser- either as an Isagi simp (most common in fanfictions) or a complete asshole with no depth.
KaiSagi characterisation tends to be even worse (which, this is NOT me criticising authors at all, people are entitled to write what they enjoy!), but either Kaiser or Isagi gets reduced to a desperate simp trying to get into each other's pants (mostly I have seen this with Kaiser, actually) and that's not very likely.
The charm of KaiSagi is their mutual hate, and the ways they overcome that!
And yes. You hit the nail right on the head! Such unbalanced ships, like KaiNess (SasuSaku or NaruHina from Naruto) are the one kind of ships I can never get behind. Whether it's love or hate, it needs to be mutual for me to enjoy it. Power unbalance is not my thing but different strokes for different folks and all that
And yes, Kaiser currently obsessed with destroying Isagi while all Isagi wants to be is no 1 is a delicious flavour and Kaneshiro is cooking
I need an explanation. Of everything regarding Kaiser. That flashback needs to be longest flashback in the manga. I want a biography I can write a thesis on.
(True!! He definitely isn't a people person. He will most likely be doing a job that requires minimum human contact lol)
(And yeah, Kaiser is such red flag, we'd need rose colored glasses to date him 😝)
Hehe. Fellow CSM fan!! My fav is Denji, and I am eagerly awaiting Season 2!
And although I haven't seen the rest of them, I have they are very good anime as well!
My absolute favourite would be Naruto, as I have been in that fandom for years as well. Apart from that, I am currently keeping up with Solo Leveling and Windbreaker!
(Although listing all the animes I have watched will require a separate post, I watch a lot of them!)
Ps: Your English was lovely, no worries!!

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?
💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
💭 What inspires you and your writing?
💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?
Aww, thank you so much for sending these asks!! <3 This one is from this list.
👻 What is your wildest headcanon?
I don't know that my headcanons are all that wild, really; I tend to be, if not exactly in line with popular fanon, at least not straying too far from it. I guess one of the biggest deviations in my headcanon in LOTR is that I don't think Legolas and Aragorn are friends, really? They kind of become friends during the books, and certainly Legolas comes to deeply respect and love Aragorn, but I don't think Aragorn has ever taken much interest or notice in him beyond the general care that he affords his comrades. The "childhood besties" angle that I see in a lot of fic is not really how I see them; I think Aragorn paid no mind to Legolas pre-Quest beyond a vague awareness of who he was, and Legolas the same for Aragorn, and that the bonds they developed on the journey are no deeper (and maybe even a little shallower) than those between any of the rest of the Fellowship.
💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
This is a hard one, because my writing spans so many different fandoms and phases, and I feel like there are fics I don't reread as much anymore but that nonetheless mean a lot to me because of the time period they represent! That said, I'd have to say it's Only Through Surrender at the moment, because it represents a bit of a breakthrough in my ability to write longer and more structured stories. But I think I'll also have to say Velle, because it was one of the most rewarding collaborative endeavors of my life and also one of the most rigorous things I've written. @deheerkonijn and I both had a ton of fun and also went over that fic with a fine-toothed comb, making sure the writing and art were as consistent as we could possibly be, and I'm really proud of the range and depths of emotion we explored in that story.
💭 What inspires you and your writing?
For fanfic . . . very often it's just the classic "well, no one ELSE has written this story I want, so I guess I'll have to do it!" I write fanfic primarily so I'll have something to read! But also, the biggest inspiration (even more than that, I think) is what DHK and I call "fandom flow." Having people to talk to, create for/with, and bounce things off of, is a creative juice like nothing else! My brain is never on fire quite the way it gets when I'm collaborating with someone.
💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?
Honestly, I think just . . . the more you do it, the easier it becomes to keep doing it. The most basic lesson, really, but tragically the only way I've gotten better at writing is just by continuing to write.
Thank you so much for asking!! <3 <3

Amethio Rant
This is a post that's been long overdue but I just didn't feel like writing until now, but I've seen a lot of posts about this character recently and I just want my opinions to be known.
Amethio is a trash character. He's the worst character in Horizons and I groan every single time he's on screen. I'd rather be watching literally anyone else on screen. Give me an episode entirely about Hamber any day over seeing this dweeb again.
But why don't I like him, you may ask. Simple. He's boring. He's the most boring, bland, milk-toast version of an overdone character type I've ever seen. I could see where his arc is going from the second he appeared in the trailers and I haven't been wrong so far. As such, I don't give a singular damn about what Amethio does. Boo. Get off screen so someone interesting can do something. He's just adiscount version of Zuko with none of the depth and flavor. Or would you prefer discount Hunter or Silver or Arven or Bede or Avery (Isle of Armor) or Paul (to some extent) or ...
You get the idea. He's just a bland nothing burger of a character that I just will never care for. Doesn't help this trope has been done to death. He doesn't even have like a fun personality to give this trope some life. He literally has nothing. Tell me three character traits with proof. No headcanons.
Now you may complain, aren't you that Sidian superfan? You don't have a leg to stand on. And to that I say, Sidian may not have much going for him now (because he hasn't gotten much screen time to himself) but I have no idea where his story is going. I don't know where his arc is leading up to and what his motivations are. And that's so crucial in getting me to care. I want to know more about him and I have fun thinking about where he could have came from. Not Amethio. I know where his story is going and I know his motivations from the very beginning. I swear, every Amethio fic I read is the exact same. Shows how boring this dude really is.
Oh, and I don't find him hot either. I'm definitely way too old for him. I'm no middle schooler.
But I'm well aware that I'm in the vast minority. Please do enlighten me about what you see in him but I just see nothing. Maybe he'll get better later but I seriously doubt it. Oh well. Amethio is only one small blip in an otherwise amazing series. Been loving this arc so much. Sidian gets to get some development (hopefully) and no Amethio to bore me.

hc + 💌 for a romance-themed headcanon !
thematic headcanons (accepting!) | hc + 💌 for a romance-themed headcanon
okay maggie i see you. fine. let's talk about romance!
i'll start off by talking about how bronya sees love. given her upbringing and the values that have subsequently been instilled within her, i believe bronya loves through duty—devotion, loyalty, unwavering resolve. i don't think bronya has a very clear idea of what love is outside of this. i think her construction of love is not intimate or personal at all. she very much loves like a leader. which is great when you're, well, a leader! but not so great when you're courting someone.
poor seele…..
so why isn't it so great? i personally see it like this: bronya is incapable of recognizing love in a romantic way. she's familiar with it from other people—she knows how courtship goes, she knows how people can fall in love. but she doesn't know how it manifests within her. which is why, when it does start happening, i think bronya is oblivious at first—then a bit anxious once she realizes the depth of her feeling.
romantic love is just such a… strong feeling for her to have towards one person. cocolia is probably the only person she's had quite a deep, personal connection with, and her relationship with her mother is… was… well. you know! so i think bronya doesn't know what to do with it. especially when within the proximity of her, let's just say, object of affection. she gets a bit lost. she feels the urge to fight against it because she fears what it will do to her judgment.
but i think she'll eventually overcome it. this sort of issue is a result of her past and, as we can see throughout the story, bronya's been trying quite hard to break free from that. so i think she'll get her shit together and realize that it's not so bad at all. she wants to love. she's only so afraid of it because she also wants to be careful. but once she lets go of her inhibitions i think she'll be corny as fuck LOL. if you've seen her texts you know she can be a bit of a boomer. she has that traditional noble sentiment. so basically she's a hag stuck in a 22 year old's body. so i think she'll do things very traditionally—flowers once a month, candlelit dinners, perfumed letters.
for now, we're stuck with her being a bit of a disaster. oops. actually i've been writing her to be a bit disastrous but i feel this will change the more she interacts with different people. always love me some good character development! presently, though………… yeah you're gonna have to forgive her

[ META ] + blood
「𝔖」 Las Plagas is inspired from The Thing, an alien which must replace it's dying cells with that of suitable hosts, or consume suitable hosts in order to reproduce. This is how it gains energy / feeds / spreads in order to function. Of course, Las Plagas does not match the biology of this parasitic alien 100%, but the gist is very similar, as it is also a parasite biologically. This is done by literally & physically, sucking the hosts dry until they are absorbed of all essential nutrients, most horrifically their blood, organs & marrow. Eventually, their prey are left to crumble as skin & bones, or a pile of absorbed cells, dead.
This was, again, first established in Archives II as hosts can express these tendrils through their mouth ( & hands if they underwent a certain ritual ), acting as proboscis or ovipositors, depending upon if they are feeding or implanting. Unlike humans, other animal species may have multiple biological purposes for their appendages / organs. This is no exception to Las Plagas parasite, which consumes & reproduces both through it's mouth ( or tentacles ). It was then developed for 5, Mercenaries 3D, Umbrella Corps, until finally making it's way into the remake of 4, predominantly seen with Pesanta ( & shown briefly with Osmund ).
The images below will clarify what I mean more in-depth, as the pictures pretty much explain themselves, but they are VERY graphic:
As I've noted before, their cannibalistic / flesh-eating obsession isn't just rooted in religious symbolism, it is a biological necessity. They MUST feed on other hosts, or they will have no choice to feed upon themselves. As they are mutants, utilizing their mutations & keeping up with their enhanced metabolism costs a lot of energy. Their dietary needs are different from humans, so it is silly to expect them to eat as such. Cooking inherently destroys nutrients in food, which is why raw flesh, organs, & carrion are seen predominately throughout the entire game. Ganados / Mutants cook MUCH LESS OFTEN than they do scavenging upon raw or spoiled food. The butcher-house, to emphasize my point, is filled with gallon bags of meats & organs, completely unfrigerated. It is not going to waste, as that is how they feed the village.
You can see here that mutants who grow tentacles from their bodies can ensnare prey to revitalize themselves off from blood, killing their target quickly. The plaga is a highly adaptable organism which uses it's bodily appendages in a myriad of ways, which includes self-preservation off the expense of others, especially if their target is already weakened or on the verge to die. Pesanta, after being injured by Ada, uses this ability to heal herself without expending energy ( why this scene was removed even though it occurs off camera, I'm not sure why, as it already appears as a death animation ).
The 'mummified' description is a bit of a exaggeration, but more or less the host was consumed of it's life-force. They were the original representation of 'vampires' after all in the series.
I do headcanon that Osmund fed off from Ada in order to mend his injuries so quickly, as I find it EXTREMELY HARD TO BELIEVE that she was held hostage without a fight. Drained to the point of temporary unconsciousness, but not killed, makes sense to me. However I will not force this HC upon other Ada roleplayers if they do not deem it fitting.

Can I please hear some thoughts about your takes on the main 4?
Just anything on your mind I love hearing your thoughts :>
oooo good ask actually, I've been so focused on developing Dr. Hare and Binary Bard that Black Widow and Captain Crawfish haven't really crossed my mind all that much 🤔 Doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about them though! I've just been brain-rotting about Hare and Bard more cause they're my comfort characters
My brain's a little scrambled right now to really go into depth at the moment, but I'll give you a few heacanons for each!
Dr. Hare ~ Autistic/has ADHD, or heck even both, and loves to info-dump about his interests to anyone willing to listen,, I'm just projecting at this point ~ Has fants(fur pants), his fur is very soft <3 Sucks in the summer, though ~ His little rabbit tail wags when he's really happy or excited about something, or info-dumping about something he's really passionate about 🥺 ~ He's envious of his pre-villain self, he wished he could go back to that young naïve version of himself, way back before the harshness of reality had a chance to crush him like it did and caused his villain totem to develop. Though at the same time, he wonders if that version of himself would hate him for who he's become, and if he would even want to associate himself with him in his current state. ~ What happened to him wasn't an accident
Binary Bard ~ I headcanon him as a masc-aligned nonbinary guy, he/they pronouns but he's cool with just he/him or they/them. I, personally, just call them what I see him as in the moment like I do with myself and my own OC's with pronoun sets like that ~ Speaks in binary to really aggravate others sometimes, just for the sake of being cryptic, or sometimes to say something he doesn't want to say directly. Luckily for him, the other three are accustomed to this and have learned how to translate it by now. ~ Knowing the things he did while under the influence of his villain totem has left him with sleeping issues, often laying awake at night feeling guilty and wondering what he could have done differently. ~ During his time controlled by the totem, it had altered his personality entirely, essentially turning him into the complete opposite of the calm inventor that usually kept too himself, he hates the person that totem turned him into. He especially hates what it made him do too his loved ones.
Black Widow ~ Black Widow and Betty Jetty are absolutely dating. Power lesbians. ~ I headcanon she became Black Widow because throughout her entire life her artistic talents were always pushed aside and belittled ever since childhood. Beautiful landscapes and still-lives eventually turned into warped portraits of herself when her totem came about, and she sought out to make the world see and recognize her talent. ~ *Rubs my gay little hands* Transfem Black Widow ~ After her totem was destroyed, she almost didn't know how to adjust to domestic life, it even scared her a bit, but with the help of her little ex-villain friend group they all learned to adjust and reflect on themselves together, which helped ease her fears. Now she's essentially like the group "mama bear" and "cool aunt" both wrapped in one.
Captain Crawfish ~ His totem came about after a previous crew he was captain of was lost at sea after a rival crew from Skullduggery sunk his ship. Survivors guilt and anger spawning both his totem and his hatred for Skullduggery, wanting to steal every bit of treasure they have like they stole his crew from him, whom he treasured as his own family. This eventually turned to stealing whatever treasure he could get his hands on, with it temporarily filling that void his fallen crew left behind, and when that feeling would wear off he'd set off for the next set of treasures in a desperate attempt to fill that void again, and that cycle would continue. ~ After his totems destruction, it took him a long while before he felt comfortable enough to return to the seas, still feeling awful about his lost crew and fearing another crew would be taken from him if he started sailing again. But, like mentioned in Black Widow's section, he and the others all learned to cope together and he eventually did return to sailing. ~ He's honestly rather protective of the other three, them being the only ones he's felt particularly close too since his first crewmates. He'll never admit it out loud, but he doesn't want to lose them like he did his crew.

18 for Gehrman and 22 & 25 for Laurence!
(Asks from this ( x ) meme)
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
We only really have Laurence, Maria, Doll and Moon Presence because whereas Willem, Djura, Eileen and Ludwig are addressed there is so much to headcanon about them that it probably evades "in canon" category... :') I really love the depth and the sadness of both his bonds with Maria and Laurence, regardless of whether they're romantic or platonic. I am a little antsy that they've left some lines suggesting a much deeper bond with Laurence in cut content realm, but I am reusing everything I physically can, sooooo xD
There is also Paleblood Hunter which I love to think is sort of reincarnation of Laurence ( x ), but this one, again, either falls back into Laurence category or there isn't enough to develop during just one night.. 🤔 Final product suggests that Gehrman loves all hunters equally, including us, which is still sweet!
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?
Hahaha, tough luck, I only read fanfics from either 1) people that are unreachable and would never interact with the fandom or 2) people I trust deeply as friends! Reading fanfics became way too important emotional experience for me to mentally manage feeling rejected by the writer as a person. But in the AU where I am a normal person without such deep insecurities, I say everything regarding his story is good! Byrgenwerth era where he only starts picking interest in holy blood? Good. Early Healing Church? Good. His last days where he can't save himself anymore? Good. Whatever time of his life you take will be interesting, because HE is interesting! I definitely adore how Laurence is included in your fanfic, both his personality and his actions!
I do not know the state of Bloodborne fanfics well enough to judge, so I think my general turn-off applies; romantic/sexual fanfics that have such little character-specific or lore-specific context that if you detach the characters from the source material no one will notice! Good ship fanfic is the one that specifically applies to these characters, not just a random fantasy with their names attached! Easiest cheat with this problem is having characters reminiscise or address some prior events in canon, especially if they led to... uhhhh, the """interaction""", but really, there are various ways to bind them to the setting 🤔
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
YEEEEES YES GOOD QUESTION!!!! My first exposure to Bloodborne cast was getting recommended a compillation of boss themes with images attached on Youtube, so I just saw a BW image of his beast form without any context paired with his theme. For some reason I thought he was some wise, serious, dignified monster found (fought?) somewhere in library-like place, and that he could talk too!
I was yet to discover how feral this form of him really was, or that he even used to be a human to begin with! I thought this videogame just had monsters x) Now I am also aware how dirty his hands are, when I thought he was a morally grey character until [player] would disturb him for some reason. He is very complex and deep. Love him for that, but the guy is so heavy that memeing about him is easier dfshfhds But I was right on the money with 'dignified librarian dad' impression, after all! *spoon-feeds you my "Laurence is a son of Cainhurst librarian and quite a bookworm in general" speculation for 700th time*
^^^ This is also the closest I can get to my first mental image of his human form after I've learned he had one and was a scholar in Byrgenwerth! You can see dark hair and buttchin were always there, but he used to have green eyes and less facial hair... Also his glasses were exclusively for reading. And he was tall and less "cute". I agree the "handsome" beta Laurence is a bit better than my final product <:3 He feels more... laurence-y xD If I am to ever create something 'serious' for Bloodborne, like maybe a large comics, I might roll back to this image more, but for now it is all little kitten Laurence for me.
Thank you for asking!
#bloodborne#laurence the first vicar#ask replies#fandomry rambles#doodles#I really just can't remember why I 'shrunk' Laurence#he evolved from handsome man to a guy so skrungly you wanna feed him from a cat bowl dhfhsfdfsd#okay he is not THAT scrungly but he is 'cute' xd#still! eating from cat bowl together with micolash for this man!!!!!!#(look I can't articulate what I am trying to say very well but I think you understand me)#(autistic on autistic telepathy)

OKAY SO
I know that I usually post headcanons and reblog stuff related to my favorite fandoms but recently (aka for the past 3 months) I've been brainstorming an idea for an original work and since I'm so invested in it I thought it'd be cool to share pieces of information here!!
First of all, it all began after I had rewatched HTTYD trilogy and got this fixation on dragons. I wanted to create a story with both dragons and explore a theme I've never quite thought about before.
Second of all, I took a lot of inspiration from indigenous people, but since it's all made up no nation in my story actually exists or is based on only one culture. i kind of did what the creators of ATLA had done, mingled various aspects of multiple nations into a singular one.
Third of all, i'm still on the early stages of creating this story, so everything may change over the course of this massive process.
LET'S BEGIN WITH THE MAIN IDEA
initially, I wanted to create a world where dragons existed from the very beginning and co-existed with people. although, with time I came to the realization that it would be a great discussion/debate idea but not fitting for an exciting story full of adventures and self-development of the main character.
thus, I started toying with the plot, trying new concepts and rewriting-deleting-rewriting-deleting-and-so-on.
it was a mess but for now I settled on a pretty cool idea: the mc is considered to be cursed and can turn into a dragon, in order to protect the village, the mc gets exiled and is forced to learn how to survive from a relatively young age. one day, while swimming away from the hunters (in my universe dragons are water creatures), mc stumbles upon a new land. there they see new people, so they decide to settle there for some time and learn about this nation they never heard about before. some time passes by and one night the person from the nation that mc stumbled upon sees a whole ass dragon bathing in a lake somewhere in the depths of the forest. the mc notices the stranger and hides underwater.
it's still pretty raw but I'll be telling you mire about this two characters more in the following posts!! I'm especially excited to talk about the mc and their culture since I've spent so much time developing it:')

A bunch of random Narinder headcanons since @lilpuffyart begged me
I know I've said it before but he's autistic as hell. I will continue to say this forever because it's true. My credentials are I am autistic and I love him
He can unhinge his jaw in his eldritch form. This serves no real purpose other than to terrify anyone who challenges him.
On that note, you know how when cats yawn they look cute for like 2 seconds before they open their mouths wide and look briefly demonic? Narinder does this with extra steps including peeling his face back and splitting his jaw.
He's actually kind of a klutz. Only his siblings know about this though. If a follower ever saw him fall down some stairs or shit like that, he'd have no qualms sacrificing them on the spot to protect his dignity.
He is the tallest of the bishops.
He will deny it to no end but if you scratch him behind the ears he WILL melt
In the Lamb's cult, once he started needing to eat, he tried cooking his own meals because he hated the idea of the Lamb having to provide something for him and him being dependent on them… and discovered he was a semi-decent cook. Even so, he still likes to go out of his way to get something from Rakshasa's stand whenever he goes out.
His favorite foods are chicken liver pate and strawberries.
When he was imprisoned, he had patience to burn. Once he was freed and essentially had no motivation to stay patient for anything, he hated waiting on anything.
He still has small remnants of power from bearing the Red Crown post-game events, though not nearly enough that he would be able to defeat the Lamb. He can send occasional telepathic messages, and make some plants wither and die within a few seconds. However, neither of these powers are particularly useful anymore.
He has excellent sight. His three eyes give him superior depth perception and see in the dark, and he can see very fine details from a good distance away.
He's not the literal father of Aym and Baal, but he views them as his children. They've both accidentally called him "Dad" more than once. He has mixed feelings about this.
Back in his bishop days he had a TERRIBLE sense of humor. Think cringy dad jokes.
Has a very low pain tolerance, but toughs it out because he doesn't want anyone to know he's hurting.
No matter what stage of his life, he always has an arsenal of blankets so he can construct an impromptu blanket fort. Have you fuckin seen cats and the way they go crazy for soft shit? Yeah
He doesn't have to sleep, but he enjoys it sometimes.
Has luxurious tastes which he developed in his godhood. This made the humble lifestyle of Lamb's cult a very uncomfortable adjustment.
Ambidextrous, but prefers to use his right hand.
His favorite season is spring.
He keeps a journal and writes in it at least once, sometimes even twice a day.
Because of his imprisonment, after being freed, he has chronic pain flare-ups and developed a connective tissue disorder.
