Mechnikov's day Messages post
As we know, on 15 May Fyodor Vitin posted this picture of two heavily redacted responses from the Central Bureau (or equivalent) responding to a request for the detective services to investigate/search (presumably) some suspicions or leads he may have had.
In this post, I'm going to try to collect the information discovered by others (notably on reddit in this thread) and follow up on some of these things, and extrapolate a bit on the connection of this post to others made by Vitin.
I'll start from the more obvious leads/clues and end with more general points & discussion. I'm going to proceed with the assumption that we're all familiar with the post, so check it out beforehand please!
196-17-1
The numbers used to file Vitin's request were flagged as a possible index entry for page 196, line 17, word 1 of Mechnikov's Etudes sur la Nature Humaine: Essaie de Philosophie Optimiste (Part II, 1903). This is supported by the date of publication of the post as well as the partially visible cover page of Mechnikov's work in the first post by Vitin ('the Beginning')
This word (of the original French volume) is ibid., referring to E.B Tylor's Primitive Cultures (vol II). I cannot access the Russian translation, which thyminesquared on tumblr flagged as the reference, but the corresponding page is p. 114 of the English original. The cited part refers to worship of dead ancestors, and the offering (or first pick) of the fruit harvest to them.

Tylor in turn cites Reverend George Turner's Nineteen Years in Polynesia: Missionary Life, Travels and Research in the Islands of the Pacific (1861):

Page 88 of George Turner's book essentially recounts the same story (duh, this is how citing works), but also on the next page goes on to talk about the fear of the 'disease-makers' in the culture.

According to Wikipedia, the name/word Tanna means 'earth'.
I find this line of research interesting for a few reasons. For one, thematically it fits Pathologic rather well, and I would argue is also meant to embed the themes into a relatively coherent historical context, which may have influenced the story but also makes it more plausible. This is despite the anachronism of the game, since we know the ballpark of the time period. It furthermore embeds the character of Vitin (or whomever is referred to in the Mask post) into the field they are supposedly studying. For example, Tylor has a section on fetishes (non-sexual), and the word fétiche is used in that post.
I think this is the primary reason we are (seemingly) led down this path, it is implausible but not impossible that 196-17-1 would turn out to be something different. I checked some of his other works on immunology to be sure, the words made no sense (e.g. finalement (finally), important, [207] elements). The three works mentioned all describe the same kinds of phenomena, and it is difficult for me to see what specifically could function as a clue or key here to unlock 'the next part of the puzzle' so to speak. One connection that did occur to me is whether we are meant to draw a link between the seasonal festival mentioned in the 'Mask' post and the types of rites mentioned in these works. I don't know what the fit or conclusion would be.
The second reason this is interesting is more 'meta' and ties into the above point. The question that arises prominently for me is how to understand the nature of this ARG, especially in comparison to the Feverish Feeling ARG? As stated, I don't find this to point at a specific clue that is useful later and I think that raises the question whether this ARG is preponderantly meant to offer fun little contextual hints and easter eggs at the Bachelor route rather than lead to something else. I don't want to discount anything though, because answering this requires more Vitin posts.

The text that appears at the bottom of the image in the Messages post was quickly flagged as a ciphertext or anagram of sorts. I know very little about ciphers, but using the site linked by Reddit user DeepForceAlpha, I did try a bunch of suggested ciphers. My takeaway simply from the ratio of vowels to consonants would be that this is indeed an anagram, and not a phrase meant to be cracked using a cipher key, because shifting the alphabet produces mainly unintelligible consonant strings (but I could be wrong). The other interesting possibility is that it could be a key itself to a future ciphertext.
This is another one of those clues where the question about the ARG's nature rears its head, because if as suggested by @cr-pisacs-evil-brother in this very in-depth post you should check out, the string is meant to make many different words without using all of the letters that are all correct answers simultaneously, then I don't think it's very useful as a clue in an ARG meant to lead somewhere. I sincerely hope this doesn't come off as rude, I am simply thinking about the 'meta rules' of an ARG and how Ice-Pick Lodge would have to construct it so it would work for us who have to solve it. This however does not mean I am definitively right, obviously.
Likewise the suggestion by Reddit user Own_Sympathy_9814 that the answer is MAVRUD + VERIDIC + EXECUTOR leaves me puzzled. There is a lot to be read into that, and I don't find the suggestion that The Marble Nest is a twyrine based hallucination very convincing - especially as the voices within the DLC near the Stillwater reference Dankovsky being sick/feverish (or at least this is my interpretation). Coincidentally, I think this is a very interesting easter egg within the DLC because not only do they say 'feverish' they also refer to a house burning down. The parallels to the Accident post are rather obvious. For this reason, I am rather tempted to flag this as relevant and something to think about in the future.
On the other hand, if the three words are meant to draw attention to the DLC as a source of the next clue they would perhaps work? It is possible that we're meant to read the posts within the frame of some story we have to construct. In this context, I think the mention of Voronika Kroy and seemingly her picture in the post can be adduced as hinting at some sort of continuity and context we are meant to read into it. This however will have to be a separate post.
General thoughts & comments
Apart from the above, things that I am wondering about have indeed to do with the surrounding context we can read into the post.
Why are messages redacted? Who has redacted them and who is actually in possession of them? Usually institutions redact sensitive information in the context of for example an access to information request, however this would only pertain to information sought, not the accompanying note explaining here is the info you asked for. The other explanation might be e.g. criminal investigations or the like, but again I do wonder about it nonetheless. I am probably reading too much into it and the point is to generate intrigue for us?
The mask image appears in the next post as well, singed this time. What is the significance of this repeat? In the Messages post it looks to be ripped from a dossier/spiral bound notebook, which could indicate that it has been stored by someone else for archival etc purposes? Maybe research purposes...
Right now my hunch is that Vitin has somehow gotten wind of the Feverish Feeling ARG's happenings and decided to dig deeper with the help of the authorities.
These are things I hope to return to in the future, but I'd like to wait for a new post before that, at least if there'd be one relatively soon. I would really like to know what other people think about how the posts relate to one another and all things that strike you as odd! (and maybe also what sorts posts would be useful idk)

Network Effect, Chapter 9

In which Murderbot can't help but be a little happy to help screw over a corporation.
After twenty-seven minutes and twelve seconds,(1) Ratthi tapped on the hatch and sent me the feed message: Can I come in and talk to you? I sent back, Do you have my jacket?
Murderbot has been keyword-monitoring its surveillance, so it doesn't have to listen to everyone actively, and it knows nobody's in mortal danger without it. Well, unless Art murdered them all, but it keeps trying to poke MB in the feed, and it probably wouldn't keep calling MB ungrateful and and "a sulky dumbass" in MB's words, not Art's, if it had murdered all its humans.
Ratthi says he has it, and MB says he can come in. He asks if Amena can come too. MB leans back on the wall.
MB's been messing with Art, trying its patience, and cleaning the leaked fluids off itself. It didn't have a shower, though, because showers feel good and it wants to stay angry.(2) It almost rejected the Art-branded shirt that "fell" from the recycler, but it needs a shirt.(3)
MB doesn't want to upset Amena, so it says yes, she can come too. They enter, just the two, and MB warns them that Art can hear anything you say onboard it, anywhere. Ratthi says he's used to that, and doesn't say it's about MB, but it knows.
Ratthi asks about MB's relationship with Art. MB gets grossed out and defensive at the first implication of a sexual one, and is no less horrified at the idea of friendship. MB felt Art stop pinging it when the humans started talking, so it knows Art's listening. Ratthi asks if MB has made many bot friends, and MB thinks of Miki,(4) but says no, not friends like humans make. Ratthi is skeptical, saying Art seems to think it is, but MB says Art lies and is mean.
The lights flicker, imperceptible to human eyes, but visible to MB's. It knows Art heard that.(5)
Amena asks why MB keeps calling it Art, when its name is Perihelion. MB says it stands for Asshole Research Transport, an anagram. Amena says that's not what anagram means, but MB dismisses it as human pedantics.
Ratthi says it's possible that, while both MB and Art have relationships with humans, they don't seem to be sure how to have one with each other. MB gets grossed out at relationship again, and Ratthi says, other than friendship, what other word is there?
I had no idea. I did a quick search on my archives and pulled out the first result. “Mutual administrative assistance?” The lights fluctuated again, in what I could tell was a really sarcastic way. I yelled, “I know what you’re doing, ART, stop trying to communicate with me!”(6)
Ratthi informs MB that, if it hasn't been paying attention, they've come to an agreement with Art to get its crew back, in exchange for assistance returning to Preservation after. MB points out they're just doing what Art wants. Ratthi says there's not another good choice out here. Even if they sent a distress beacon, any response will put everyone in trouble, especially Art and its crew and their university. MB points out several ways it's even worse and more exploitative, that they'd have to pay out the nose just to get rescued.
Amena is aghast, Ratthi says he hates the Rim, and MB agrees, sarcastically, and notes that it's realized something it should have seen sooner.(7) Amena asks if MB would be okay, as a construct, but they have a short discussion about how Mensah technically owns it, under Rim law, and Amena is her legal representative in this. Ratthi confirms, if corporates show up, Amena has to assert ownership of MB. She's disgusted. MB says it doesn't like it either.
At any rate, Ratthi says Art still has repairs to do, and everyone has plans and preparations to make, and asks if MB will come out of the bathroom now. MB says it will, because it knows Art is lying.
This time when the lights fluctuated, it wasn’t sarcastic.
The humans have shifted around, but still have their video call active to the control room. Overse asks if they're all ready now. Ratthi says not quite, and MB says Art didn't come here for a distress call. Thiago is suspicious, and Arada asks if MB wants to jeopardize the deal they made with Art. MB says it absolutely needs to bring this up now.
Overse asks how MB knows, and MB says it's a research and teaching vessel, but all the educational spaces are out of use, the lab inactive, and no cargo module attached. MB asks what Art was doing when it received the distress call. Art asks if this is MB being helpful. No, MB says, this is quite the opposite. It's being held against its will and it will make its keeper regret it.(8)
Arada asks if MB wants to go back in the bathroom for a while and think about what it's doing. MB says it's done thinking, Art snarks about that being obvious. MB asks again what Art was doing.
Across the room, Eletra is asking Overse and Ratthi why they're letting their SecUnit do this. Overse almost says MB is independent, but Ratthi stops her and says merely that MB is usually more responsible.
Thiago, surprisingly, agrees with MB that it's a valid question. MB interprets this as the sensible humans abandoning it. Art says it's none of MB's business. MB argues Art made this its business when Art told the hostiles to kidnap MB. Art suggests MB can put itself out the airlock if it's unhappy with its situation.
The humans, for their part, are trying desperately to wave for MB's attention as Art makes this incredibly threatening statement. Only, this is what MB wanted. It says Art is upsetting Amena. MB noticed earlier that Art's tone with Amena is totally different from with the adults, and Art is fundamentally an educational vessel.
And before this when I was stupid and we were still friends(9) it had talked about human adolescents in an indulgent way.
Amena takes a breath, and before she can object, MB asks her privately in the feed to be honest. So, she says the grey people and being shot at scared the crap out of her, and she really would like to know what's actually going on.
After a long silence, Art says it has to violate its crew's NDA to answer. MB says Art kidnapped itself and its humans, that violated MB's contract with them. Art says it will consider it, then shows MB that it's talking only to it and its humans, cutting Eletra out.
In this more private channel, Art says that if any of them reveal what it's about to say to the corporate, it will kill her. MB isn't particularly attached to her, but it doesn't want anyone dying near its humans and traumatizing them more. So it's not opposed when Arada speaks for them and agrees. Aloud, Arada asks if they can use Art's cabins to clean up, so they don't accidentally indicate anything to Eletra. On the public channel, Art graciously invites them in.
Ratthi and Overse get Eletra settled in one of the rooms the grey people didn't get their growth medium scent all over, and supplies so she can take care of her business and might not feel a need to wander. MB posts a drone scout, just in case.
MB's humans go to the galley, far enough away that Eletra won't hear them even in the corridor before MB spots her moving. The humans are eating and drinking something warm Thiago made them. MB is pacing.
Finally, Arada asks if Art is ready to answer MB's questions. Art gives a lengthy explanation that amounts to, its crew sometimes acts on behalf of anti-corporate organizations,(10) and were on a data-collection mission to the abandoned colony. Amena notes the similarity to how Preservation's great-grandparents' colony had been abandoned. Art notes that sometimes, colonies cut off from the corporates can survive.
This colony had previously failed, but no data existed on why. One of Art's crew, Iris, had found some newsfeed archives about the takeover of the corporation that had controlled the second colony. Some employees were in a firefight, and deleted the database before the hostile takeover was completed. Iris made a note that it's possible, though unlikely, that they were trying to protect or conceal the colony.
After all the humans have read the article and notes, Art says its crew's mission was to see the colony's status, and if active, make contact and offer assistance against corporates, such as by evacuating the inhabitants. Amena asks why, surely if the colony survived, the other corporations would have no jurisdiction. Overse says no, another could easily, and legally, move in and take over. Amena is horrified, but Thiago says that's how the Corporate Rim is.
Ratthi asks what Art and its crew do, in these cases.
ART said, The University has the means to produce the colony’s original charter documents, which often contain clauses specifying that if the originating corporate body has ceased operations, then ownership of the planet is ceded to the colonists or their issue or successors living on the original site.
MB asks if that means the university forges the documents to free the colonies, and Art refuses to acknowledge the question, which probably means yes. MB has no qualms with the method of sticking it to the corporates, even if it's still angry at Art.
Art continues, in very passive voice, that a contract is facilitated between the colony and an independent transfer station, and once the station is established in the system, the colony is relatively safe from corporate ravaging.
Arada says Eletra said there were two corporate ships, and asks if Art was here before them. It was, and was forced to fire on a Barish-Estranza ship by those holding its crew hostage. It doesn't know what happened to the vessel or the crew. Ratthi asks if Art knows why the grey people would have brought Eletra and Ras aboard, but it really has no clue. The rest happened as it already described.
Overse suggests they put together a timeline. MB is about to say it has one, when Art provides its own. MB is annoyed, privately, that Art left out the point where it told the gray people MB was a weapon they could use.(11)
Amena says before things got weird, Ras tried to tell her about the colony reclamation, but Eletra cut him off. Thiago wonders whether the gray people came from the newer colony, or the original one, if they're remnant-contaminated, or if they were manipulated genetically by their corporation.
Discussion moves to the language they used, which has at least three pre-Corporation Rim languages involved, and their tech, which is also pretty ancient. Thiago says most of the alien contamination incidents happened before the Rim, though everything's suppressed so it's hard to know much detail about any of it.
Ratthi brings it back around to Thiago's question again. Art says evidence points to them being from inside the system.
MB takes the opportunity to point out Art's memory archive issues, and that it can't be sure who or what was aboard it before. Arada tries to interrupt, but Art says MB's earlier statement that Art lies a lot was untrue, but it cannot reveal information that would be against its crew's interests unless the circumstances call for it. Arada says they understand, and MB is looking out for their interests.
Art demands an apology. MB makes obscene gestures at the ceiling, since the humans are treating the ceiling like Art anyway. Art says that was unnecessary.
In a low voice, Ratthi commented to Overse, “Anyone who thinks machine intelligences don’t have emotions needs to be in this very uncomfortable room right now.”(12) ART was suddenly in my feed, on a private channel. I did what I had to do. You should understand that. I said aloud, “I’m not talking to you on the feed! You’re not my client and you’re not my—” I couldn’t say it, not anymore.(13) All the humans were staring at me. I wanted to face the wall but that felt like giving in.
Out of nowhere, MB has views all over the ship. It snarls at Art to stop being nice to it.
Amena takes MB's side and says maybe Art needs to give MB some time to process. MB, however, is suspicious and asks if Art is talking to Amena privately. Amena winces, and MB yells at Art to stop talking to its human(14) behind its back.
Privately, MB acknowledges that it isn't being at all logical, even if it felt like it was at the time.(15)
Arada says it's time to stop this unproductive arguing. Art needs to stop pressuring MB, she understands it's upset about its crew but MB is upset too. So, if it can give them any other information about this colony, it would be appreciated. Until then, she and Overse will get some data on the alien remnant on the engine, and see if they can help fix things faster. She assigns Ratthi and Thiago to med-scan-autopsy the dead Targets, and translate what they were saying in MB's recordings, to help narrow down who they were. She also asks Amena to talk to Eletra again, see if she can get her to open up.
Finally, she asks MB to figure out what caused Art's first reinitialization process, and how the Targets boarded, so they can prevent it happening again. She asks if Art is alright with all this, and it says an ominous, "For now."(16)

(1) You know, bravo to everyone (but Art) on their restraint. (2) God if that ain't the mood sometimes. It's not quite "I don't deserve nice things" but it's a close cousin to that feeling, you know? (3) I love the implication that Art deliberately withheld the jacket, could have pushed it through but didn't, so MB would have to talk to a human sooner or later to get it back. (4) Precious cinnamon roll Miki who could kill you to defend its human friends but would rather make you a friend too if it could. Taken from us too soon, but a good reminder to MB that friendship is possible for bots. I think that's part of why it let itself open up so much to Mensah after. (5) Telltale upper-corner message: Perihelion will remember this. (6) Those poor humans having to deal with MB acting so unhinged. (7) This is where it figures out Art was lying about the distress, in case you missed it like I did on my first pass. (8) One of the classic blunders. Don't take a stubborn asshole who lives for chaos, prisoner. (9) So much for never having been friends. MB can't help but admit the truth sideways a lot of the time. I love picking up on its little slips, don't you? (10) Comrade Perihelion! No wonder it wasn't opposed to helping MB all those weeks ago. (11) Anything to avoid the conclusion it knows is inevitable: it cares for Art's crew, just for the sake of their being innocent humans, and it's going to help rescue them eventually. Otherwise this wouldn't be a book. (12) [quiet snicker] (13) You know it is still your friend, though. It betrayed you, because it knew you would be able to handle the betrayal. It didn't mean for MB's humans to get involved. I think Art even expresses, in its own way, that it feels bad for their involvement. It's not like Art is withholding supplies or passage back to Preservation, as long as it gets its crew back first. And, it may see them as an asset, more people means less danger individually, means better chance of success. (14) Amena is particularly MB's human here. It's not worried about Art talking to the others, but it doesn't want Art influencing Amena while it's still angry at Art. They're just so… human. (15) This really extra feels like an observation after the fact, versus most of MB's asides where it could have been the uncensored train of thought it was barreling down at the time. Thus, my use of a touch of past tense. (I'm capable, it just doesn't feel natural.) (16) Ominous in that it implies Art will change its mind sooner or later. Do you think so? Or is it just sulking at being dressed down like that by a human?

Finished 1899 for the third time (I'm so far down the rabbit hole it's not even funny), and this time I've been paying attention to communications.
There are a lot of theories floating around linking Ciaran and Sebastian, and after this rewatch, I agree.
But I'm still not sure either of them are real.
The only interactions we got from Ciaran so far have been messages. I wonder if he's just an AI messaging system gone rogue (at least in 2099 — no idea what awaits on the other side of that).
Either way, with all the Greek mythology symbolism, it got me to read up on Hermes, the god of Communication, Travels and Merchants. Considering we have both a brother sending cryptic messages (in the form of letters and weird texts on spaceship consoles) and a Shipping Company sending cryptic messages, as well as the fact that Ciaran is said to have taken over the experiment... My guess would be that whenever the Kerberos gets weird communications from the company, they are also from Ciaran. (As opposed to from Henry, since he's not actually running anything.)
Also, SUPER TINFOILY and probably way off-base... From Wikipedia:
Scholarly speculation that "Hermes" derives from a more primitive from meaning "one cairn" is disputed.
I don't care that it's disputed, still caught my eye. One Cairn? Like... "A Cairn", anagram of "Ciaran"?
A cairn is a man-made pile (or stack) of stones raised for a purpose, usually as a marker or as a burial mound. the word cairn comes from the scottish gaelic: càrn (plural càirn).
Scottish Gaelic. If the pronunciations I found are right, it sounds vaguely like how Maura pronounces Ciaran, which Irish speakers on Reddit have said is mispronounced in the show. (I would guess the showrunners would research that before naming a character a foreign name.)
The wikipedia page also mentions cairns are used as burial markers, but also used as landmarks, most often to mark the summit of mountains, or as trail marks.

All this time, when Maura asks "Where is my brother", she may be asking where is the marker.
What is lost can be found if its location has been marked.
She finally unlocks the pyramid (though imo the key-turned-ring is a decoy, hence the spaceship simulation) in the room under the grave marker, and the first thing she gets on the ship is a message from Ciaran. Another marker. The trail goes on.
Hermes, in mythology, is the mediator between humans and the Gods. So if we're seeing humans overstepping their place — playing gods, if you will, a big theme of Prometheus's myth, then Hermes would be bringing the demands of the gods for punishment. Sink Ship, for example. He also began as the God who brought souls along the road to the Underworld, before this task fell to Charon.
So... IMO, in season 2, Ciaran will be the communications platform on the spaceship Prometheus, and we still won't meet him in person. And they will still receive weird-ass cryptic messages that Maura believes to be from her brother.
I believe if Ciaran is real, on the Kerberos he's Sebastian. The goes back and forth between Henry and the passengers of the Kerberos, is basically just a message boy handing out weird telegraphs or explaining ship mechanics (Hermes, the god of travels...) but there's definitely a chance that Sebastian doesn't actually exist and is only a period-appropriate manifestation of the Ciaran messaging platform, which may be anything from an actual live person to a supercomputer in reality.
Who knows, with this show.

Everything Weird About Deltarune!
Spoiler Warning for Undertale and Both Chapters of Deltarune! Really! I Literally Go Through Everything I Can Remember About Them!
This is a long post so get comfortable. Also note that my brain doesn't process thoughts into words very well so some of these might not be worded in the best way. :)
Deltarune. The first teaser chapter was released on October 31, 2018, and it came out of nowhere. We've all gone through this, but I'll try and go through every single painstaking detail I can remember. Feel free to reblog and add/correct things.
The weirdness begins right off the bat. The title is an anagram of UNDERTALE. We all know Toby likes to use anagrams when he wants to indirectly tell us when things are related, so it's no surprise that when you go to download DELTARUNE, it warns you that the game is designed for people who have played UNDERTALE. You think, "Cool, so it's a sequel? Or maybe a prequel? A different perspective of UNDERTALE perhaps?" You were wrong; so terribly, terribly wrong! I'll elaborate on this later.
Before you download the application, the terms of service that you must agree to beforehand reads simply and plainly, "You accept everything that will happen from now on." This detail was kinda brushed off in the beginning, because, hey, it's Toby Fox. He does weird stuff all the time. But even in the first chapter, it's apparent that the concept of choice, or more accurately, the lack of it, is a very present theme in the game. I would like to remind you that Toby has announced that there will be one ending in the game. One. I'll elaborate on this later.
The program (as in, what the game is called in your files) is named SURVEY PROGRAM. Why not just call it Deltarune like it is when you download chapter two?
The game launches you, without a title screen, without any setting adjustment options, straight into a reference to the theme of the entire franchise: the lack of choice. A strange formless voice guides you through "making a vessel", with what we know now as a fountain in the background. You have the option to make some very disturbing choices in this character creator, such as making its favorite flavor "pain" or expressing your feelings about it with options such as "fear" and "disgust." You name your "creation," tell the formless voice your name (which is different from your vessel's name) and watch as said formless voice muses over your name at an agonizing pace. It thanks you for your time and tells you that your wonderful creation, (cue music cutout and background removal) will now be discarded. "No one can choose who they are in this world." The screen slowly turns white as the voice says, "Your... name... is..."
It gets weirder. The next scene appears from the whiteness and showcases Toriel calling "Kris" out of bed. Kris' area of the room is very bare in contrast to the other side, which we later discover is Asriel's.
It's Toriel. Why is Toriel here?
Kris is kind of an anagram of Frisk (the protagonist of UNDERTALE) but without the F. I highly doubt this is a coincidence.
Speaking with Noelle is the only reason you can proceed (see what i did there?) while finding a partner in the classroom. This means you can't go through the 1st chapter without knowing who she is. Is it because of the Snowgrave route?
Ralsei is just suspicious to me. There's no way he was just waiting in that castle his whole life alone without some mental toil. So either he's insane or he wasn't alone the whole time. What happened? Is it related to how he can close his eyes and see what Susie is going through when she's apart from the party? Was he just watching everything? Is he related to the formless voice?
Susie's icon is the only one without color in the Dark World.
Jevil's fight is more difficult than Sans'.
Your actions have little consequence in the first chapter. If you choose to go genocide, the only difference in the ending is being run out of the kingdom, and this doesn't carry over to the next chapter. Again, lack of choice, people.
If at the end of chapter one, you walk around town, it's mentioned (notably by Noelle) that you're usually not this talkative. If you go to the hospital and speak with the receptionist, they mention that you used to play the piano in the corner. If you decide to attempt to play the said piano, an out-of-key bash can be heard and the receptionist comments on how you used to play beautifully. If you try this in chapter two, the result is the same. All this is confirmation that Kris is acting noticeably weird.
When you leave the Dark World and walk around town, you can find Sans. He "pretends" to recognize you, and if you tell him you recognize him, he tells you it's funny, considering that you two have never met before. He winks. I'm pretty sure he knows that the player is there.
The mention of Papyrus in both games, but the purposeful lack of him. Like he's avoiding you.
If you go upstairs while inside Asgore's flower shop, there are flowers in glass cases resembling his SOUL collection in UNDERTALE. There's a red flower.
You can't enter the church.
The clock in the storage closet shows a different time than all the others in the school.
If you go all the way south in town and into the woods, the music stops and you come across a rusty, double door is in a hill covered in crass. It's locked. If you go this way in chapter two, however, you watch a cutscene where you and susie happen to find Monster Kid from UNDERTALE (or someone resembling them) and an owl kid in front of the door. The owl kid is pressuring Monster Kid to (presumably) break inside, telling them that they don't want to be a wimp like Kris. Does this imply that Kris is connected to this strange door somehow?
The ending. You know what I'm talking about.
Did Kris actually rip out the SOUL (I say "the" because I'm not entirely sure it's Kris') and knife because they wanted to eat the pie? Did they only eat the pie because Toriel caught them?
Why did they look at the player? Are they sick of being controlled? Is that why they freaked out after the Spamton fight? (later)
Anyway, now we're at chapter two.
DELTARUNE Chapter Two was released on September 17th, 2021. 17. Entry Number 17. Sound familiar?
Asriel's part of the room is different from the last chapter. I don't think this means anything sinister, but I think it means Kris notices different things about the room as the story progresses. My theory is that it will become more sinister in each chapter.
Ralsei getting super excited to see Susie and Kris after a day. As in he has separation anxiety and it breaks my heart. not anything suspicious but it makes me sad so it's on the list.
Kris and Susie's rooms. Ralsei REALLY doesn't want them to leave. Seriously get this boy a therapist. Or a stuffed animal. SOMETHING.
Kris having to gather everything from the storage closet so that people appear in the Dark World????? Why??????????????? They had to do the same thing for the computer lab too.
The golden door. I don't trust it.
How/why the heck did Noelle and Berdley go into the Computer Lab Dark World? I don't see either of them just walking into pulsing void doors without Susie.
Apparently the knight has been gone for a bit and can corrupt people's minds? The king in the first chapter doesn't seem like he can be redeemed but Queen just seems,,, not bad, but a little crazy. I wonder what happened.
Then again, name ONE person in this franchise without trauma.
Spamton.
Horror doesn't bother me. Spamton? Spamton bothers me.
SPAMTON. ENOUGH SAID.
A Kromer is a type of hat invented in the '70s. Nobody named Mike is associated with it, that I can find.
SPAMPTON. HOW DO I EVEN DESCRIBE IT.
HIS SONG IS THE ONLY ONE WITH WORDS.
The way he asks Kris is they want to be a heart on a chain their whole life. Like, dude, no wonder they were screaming after the fight.
WHERE DID THE YELLOW HEART COME FROM. YELLOW MEANS JUSTICE. WHY DOES JUSTICE APPLY.
Kris screaming after the fight and the player not being able to hear it. Don't you dare tell me that's just how the game is designed. There are sound effects characters make throughout the game. None that I can think of apply to Kris, apart from when they rip their soul out.
Ralsei brushing off the Spamton fight. Either that's his coping mechanism or he was trying to shut Susie and Kris up to protect them from... something. I'll touch on that in a minute.
According to Queen, DETERMINATION is a key factor in creating a fountain.
Also according to Queen, Kris, Noelle, and Susie all have DETERMINATION SOULS.
Ralsei freaking out about Berdley making a fountain implies that he may also have DETERMINATION. Why I'm bringing all this up will make sense soon.
How was Noelle able to cast Snowgrave... a spell that she, according to her, didn't know?
The Snowgrave route is so twisted.
You manipulate Noelle into killing Berdley and then, when you get back to the computer lab and investigate his corpse, the text box says that he doesn't seem to be awake. As if you're in denial?
Burgerpants recognizes you. Not Kris. As in the player.
The ending. I don't think I need to describe it. Kris is very methodical without the SOUL. (I say "the" because, again, I'm not 100% convinced it's theirs.) I'm saying this about how they left clues that someone broke into the This proves that they are NOT a mindless, vengeful husk.
HOW DID THEY MAKE THE FOUNTAIN WITHOUT THE SOUL INSIDE OF THEM. DID THEY FEED THE SOUL TO IT AFTERWARDS? IS THAT WHAT THAT WAS?
Another point I would like to make is my theory that Ralsei knows much more than he would have us believe. I might put this into a different post because I have yet to gather my points into a coherent bullet point list, so keep an eye out for that.
Anyway apart from Toriel and Susie being VERY heavy sleepers, I think I've gone through everything. I have a few theories.
1. Kris is possessed by the player and figured out that they could make a fountain from Queen and related to Spamton freaking out about freedom. They then decided to make a fountain going by the logic that "this would tick the player off." This is one of my top theories that assumes that the SOUL is theirs.
And 2. Kris is possessed by both the player and the knight. I think the formless voice at the very beginning of the game is the knight, and they somehow needed the player to possess someone with DETERMINATION. If so, then why Kris? We know from Queen that Noelle and Susie, and maybe even Berdley also have DETERMINATION. The most plausible thing I can think of is the fact that human souls are stronger than monster ones.
I do think that the popular theory (about the one that suggests that the Dark Word is nothing but a figment of a child's imagination, and the events that occur in said Dark World are simply children playing with toys) has been thoroughly dashed due to Berdley's murder in the genocide route of the second chapter. Unless he's not dead. Regardless, how the events (or lack thereof) that occur in the second chapter play through the next will be interesting, especially considering Toby's announcement about how there will be one ending to the game. So either Berdley isn't dead, or he will be.

Impulse--The Fastest Attitude Alive
Continuing with the strange idea that part of the fandom has about Bart.

Many see Bart as if he is this sweet and innocent "uwu" little infant who has never said or done anything wrong, a delicate sunflower baby.
I'm not even saying that Bart is a rude character all the time, but it is a fact that he can be, because obviously like any other person he can get upset, or find himself in a bad mood, or just answer badly if he's angry, if someone is not having the most "friendlier" attitude to him.

Oh sure, spout a blasphemy like anyone else if you're excited, frustrated, upset, or confused.
But of course, Bart doesn't know how to do that, he's just a little boy

"Grife" a 30th century swear word, is the most common expression he uses to complain or in a excited mode, it basically means fuck. Basically, he uses cusses in a language that not one would understand.

"Sprock" is another blasphemy from the future.
I actually liked this panel because it shows that although Bart uses to express with these words, in reality they are not very usual that he uses them, so he apologizes to himself for doing it. (And because he knows that Max would pulverize him)
He can be happy, aggressive, naive, rude, be a BRAT, I mean basically Bart is an anagram to brat.

But more important, He's a teeneger, he can be a 2 year old infant chronologically, but still a teen in his body and mind.
Seeing that so many people in the fandom just have this cute sunshine flower version of him just make me feel tired and feel sad for how misunderstood my favorite character is. This just hurt a little to me.

Chapter 3: Grammar and Power
"Hagrid, I'm wondering, can you tell me more about the Professors?" Harry said after getting himself comfortable around Hagrid, although he didn't have the ability to eat Hagrid's cooking, while Ron enjoyed himself with pampering 'Fang,' Hagrid's hound dog.
"Well ain' 'hat a good question. Known mos' of 'hem back when I was in school. Of course, 'he Dark Arts 'eacher keeps changin' for a while now and 'he potion masters are fairly new, been aroun' for ten years give or 'ake," Hagrid said pouring more tea.
"But isn't that strange?," Ron said with mild skepticism, "why have two potion masters? Why not one?"
"Well ain' 'hat a funny story. When Professor Snape became 'he potions master, people were worried if he could handle it; given his past an' all, but 'hen Dumbledore wen' off to France one day an' came back with Professor Black, draggin' him by 'he collar; it was quiet 'he show," Hagrid said laughing at the memory.
"Of course, 'he other professors seemed even more cautious to him 'eaching, given his family matters, Black himself 'ried runnin' away whenever he got the chance, yet Dumbledore always dragged him back in 'ime for dinner. I'm not sure wha' convinced Black to stay 'hough, you'll have to ask him or Dumbledore, maybe even Snape if your lucky. 'hen pretty soon things jus' started to work out well and it's been like 'hat ever since." Hagrid said and looked at the clock.
"Blimey, it's getting late, I wouldn't wan' you two gettin' into 'rouble on your second day, now off with you, careful not to get Flinch to fin' you." Hagrid said as he ushered them out.
As much as Hagrid explained, it still left Harry in questions.
What was Professor Snape's past? Why was Dumbledore at France? Why was Professor Black so reluctant in teaching? How did Dumbledore convince Professor Black to stay?
But Harry supposed that could be a answered for another time.

Classes went by for the next two weeks as perfect as Harry could imagine.
Well; they went just about exactly as how Harry have imagined it.
In Transfigurations, they wrote down difficult anagrams and translations to which made knickknacks change into other knickknacks.
In Charms, they learned to use basic charms as well as learn when they were invented and why.
In History of Magic, they slept through an explanation of Greek and Roman wizards which brought muggles to reason that there were gods.
In Herbology, they learned about soil properties and there reaction to certain plants.
In Flying Class, they learned what makes a broom fly and the parts of a broom as well.
In Astronomy, they learn how to track star movements and tracing the lunar cycle.
In Defense Against the Dark Arts, they learned that Professor Quirrell was scared of just about everything.
And then there was Potions...
Don't get Harry wrong, it wasn't a strange class compared to his other courses, but it was strange in its teaching style.
The first thing he does in class is place a potion in front and have the students write down what potion it is using only three clues hidden around the room.
As far as Harry was concern, only Hermione seem to like it. Then Professor Black would go off in demonstrating making a potion while the class followed along which was the normal part of class; then does something completely unexpected.
It could be anything.
One time the professor just decided that, to check if are potions worked properly, dropped eggs into the steaming cauldron which out popped a fully grown chicken, or geese and turkey if you messed up which was found out by Neville, that only lead to the school being overrun with foul of all kind. This lead to Professor McGonagall having plenty of practice trials for her class in making chickens to pillows and Professor Sprout feeding her carnivorous plants fresh meat. Not to mention, to no ones surprise, there were a lot of chicken based meals serve the next day.
Another time the Professor handle the students clay dolls to use as containers for the potion which only proceeded to make it come to life and keep trying to untie shoelaces. On course, Professor Flitwick took most dolls and used them to teach the fourth year how to use the cutting charm on moving objects while Professor Kettleburn who teaches Care of Magical Creatures took just enough to keep the bowtruckles at bay from attacking students.
It turned out that whatever potion was made was then explained after the potion was created to make sure everyone was fair game in brewing so not one knew what to expect as the final result. Then the school takes use of it and make it a never ending cycle of 'learning productivity.' At least that's what the other teachers call it.
The good that Professor Blacks tactics brought was an easing environment for the students to learn, so not anything any student, especially the Slytherin, could hate about. It came to the point that no one could ever truly hate his classes.
Of course, that is if Harry could manage to get his potions right the first time around.
"Not bad, not bad, but you can do better, I'll make a potioneer out of you yet; Miss Ganger if you could do so the pleasure in helping Mister Potter with his potion I would be oh so great full," Professor Black said as he hurried over to Seamus's cauldron which seem to be bubbling uncontrollably and quite ready to explode.
But this left Harry vulnerable.
Just as class was about to end, Draco smirked and wrote on a piece of parchment to which he soon crumbled up and threw it at Harry.
But before any piece of crumped up parchment could when get anywhere near Harry, Professor Black appeared, or in this case apparated right on time to catch it.
"Mister Malfoy, bulling will not be permitted in any house and even more so in class," Professor Black said in a calming elegant tone as he opened the crumped paper, walking to an empty chalkboard. "As wizards and witches, by stooping to such means we become nothing more then primitive creatures. If one decide to prove themselves as superior; we show this though are abilities and are skills."
Harry saw Draco's face redden with embarrassment and anger. "This does bring into account that grammar is important when writing a message, there are proper words per proper means. For example Y-O-U-R is used when describing something that belongs to you while Y-O-U-'-R-E is used is phrasing "you are." Professor Black explained as he wrote it down on the board.
"With this being said I will expect an essay 10 inches long on the potion that cures boils which can be found in your books on page 43," Professor Black said as the student started to put their items away to go to their next class.
"AND MISTER MALFOY," Professor Black said louder then needed, "If I catch you bulling or using improper grammar, after school classes will be put into order which I'll make sure, your father will find out about. Class dismiss."

By the time school ended, the Gryffindors in the common room were spreading their daily gossip on the Notorious Professor Black.
"Is apparation truly that difficult?" Harry said, not really sure why everyone was making a fuss about apparation.
"It is, witches and wizards that fail in it can end up appearing to one place missing a leg or hand. Not to mention that you need a license to by allowed to use apparation," Ron explained, "But to think, he would apparate just for show?"
"He didn't just do it for show, didn't you hear any word of his lecture? He was making a statement against bulling and the truth behind power. Yet I will admit, he was able to do advanced magic without a wand and quite effortlessly if I might add, being the fact the if you read Hogwarts: A History, the schools barriers make it difficult to preform such magic, and near impossible to apparate outside or inside Hogwarts. He must be extremely powerful to be able to apparate on school grounds so freely," Hermione inputted from her little corner of books as the other first years sat in the common room next to the fireplace as they continued on in discussion.
But of course, the Weasley twins took it upon themselves to bring trouble to the conversation.
"Don't be to surprised."
"Apparatation isn't the only thing his good at."
"Every year during winter break"
"Dumbledore and Black have a duel just outside of Hogwarts grounds."
"You can see it from the great hall if you like."
"Last year, they got a little overboard and knocked down the astronomy tower!"
"No one got hurt though."
"Then they went off for ice cream."
"After an hour, they came back."
"McGonagall, sent them to the corner and made them clean up their mess."
Fred and George started laughing just thinking of what would happen this year but this did not help the first years imagination and worry of their teacher accidentally crushing them with a tower.
Percy took a moment to think of what to say to calm the situation down and took in a breath, "All the Professors at Hogwarts exceeds in their teaching fields but then we have Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor Black who've excelled in multiple fields. But unlike Headmaster Dumbledore, Professor Black does everything in his power to excel all forms of magical knowledge which is why his called in to teach a class when a professor is not able to make it."
"So his a bloody genius," Ron said as he slinked down into his chair.
"No Ron, his studious which is something you should be doing as well, if you end up failing a single class, mother might just turn you into a cow," Percy warned.
"Then we can name you Ro-Moo," the twins said simultaneously which got Percy to chase them around which only proceeded to give the twins a good laugh.
Extra
•Regulus is a grammer god and no one can prove me wrong.
•Bold of you to assume that Regulus wouldn't train hard in magic knowing Voldemort is still alive.
•Every winter break, Regulus duels Dumbledore to see if he could hold his ground against him.
•The last duel held for 40 minutes, with Dumbledore toying with Regulus for the last 20 minutes to see how long the boy would last.
•They destroyed the astronomy tower and then went out for ice cream and McGonagall grounded both of them.
