“You know what you’re doing, right?”
You shoot him a look, “I know you did not just ask me that.” Miguel stuttered, not realizing that his words might’ve offended you.
“No, shock, sorry, I was just-”
“Miguel, chill.” You playfully punched his arm. “I got this.”
“You do. I didn’t mean to doubt you.”
You knew he didn’t mean that, but you wouldn’t tell him you were a little nervous. It would be your first time working the Go Home machine alone without help from Margo, who was planning to go on more missions for Miguel. You knew your way around regarding technology—making your position at Spider Society a very helpful one.
For someone who didn’t have any superpowers.
“Just don’t press the ‘blow up HQ’ button and you’ll be straight.” Margo added in, making sure you were all set by putting the last of her console commands.
“Why would I even want to press that button?”
“Just in case you get bored. Like I do.”
Miguel pinched the bridge of his nose, “Do you think it was a good idea to say that in front of your boss?”
“Yes.” Margo winked, making him shake his head at her antics.
“Just call one of us if you do need help.” Miguel assured you with a hand on your shoulder. You tried not to focus on how huge his hand was on you. How close he was to you. How good he smelled at that moment. Like sandalwood. Good thing you had the best poker face in the world, otherwise your crush on him was going to show.
“I will, don’t worry.”
You had a system for sending anomalies back through the Go Home machine. You tried to get the ones brought in order so they wouldn’t spend much time inside the building. Some were antsy, primarily the villains, so you always did your best to get them out immediately. Otherwise, they'd cause problems.
Your stomach growled when you glanced at the time. It was almost lunch. Miguel was still on a mission, so you figured having lunch with him was off the table. You tried to ignore the disappointment in your stomach when you thought about being unable to eat with him. Especially since you brought him a sandwich you made this morning. He said he liked your food.
A portal emerges, and there you see Miguel and Jess with two anomalies in tow. One was webbed up and unconscious, while the other was happily following them, taking in the sights.
It was a Deadpool and Wolverine, anomalies you've never seen before. The most you've gotten were villains, other spider people who weren't a part of the Society, and random citizens. You knew there were other heroes within the universes, but you'd never thought you see them.
“Oooh it's so shiny!” Deadpool admired the other cages filled with anomalies. The one he was looking at contained a gigantic Vulture. “How did you bring this son of a gun in here?”
“Hey.” Jess called, “We agreed to let you look in exchange for voluntarily locking you up.”
“I know, I know.” Deadpool held out his arms to carry Wolverine, who was across Miguel’s shoulder. Miguel sighed before handing one of the X-Men over, like a bride in Wade's arms.
“Uh, what happened to him?” You asked as you locked the two heroes up.
“Knocked him out with my bike.” Jess informed you, “Kitty cat was getting a little crazy, so I had to calm him down.”
“He didn't have his morning coffee, that's why.” Deadpool started stroking his friend's hair. “Big guy needs his caffeine mixed with two shots of bourbon.”
Miguel sighed, “Just what I needed, a Deadpool and Wolverine. You know they usually come in pairs?”
You didn’t know that.
“Better than dealing with a Green Goblin.”
“Anything's better than dealing with goblin.” Deadpool said, “It's like witnessing therapy 101 when talking to that guy.” You bit your lip to hide your amusement while Jess and Miguel didn’t indulge in him. “Tough crowd. I thought all Spidey's are supposed to be funny.”
“Not him.” You pointed at Miguel, “Hardly a funny bone in his body.” Jess chuckled at that while he rolled his eyes.
“Someone has to be serious around here.”
While putting the two heroes on the list for the Go Home machine, your stomach growled once more. Now that Miguel was back, hopefully you two would get lunch and eat together in his lab like usual. It's almost as if he read your mind when pulling you aside.
“Hey, I'm not eating lunch now. I have a pile of reports I need to sign off on and it will take me a while.”
“Oh.” You ignored the disappointment in your chest. “It's okay. Work comes first.”
Miguel smiled, a gentle hand on your shoulder. “Thanks for being understanding.”
Once taking his leave, you sat in a chair by the Go Home machine, eating your sandwich. You only had forty-five minutes, but with Miguel, it was usually close to an hour—perks of being a leader of Spider Society.
“Where the fuck are we?” You heard from one of the enclosures. Wolverine was finally awake.
“The future.” Deadpool said, “It's not all that. I didn't see a Taco Bell in here.”
“The closest thing to that are the tacos in the cafeteria.” You stood, tossing the wrapper from your sandwich away.
“Oooh, what about Mexican pizza? We don't even have those in our dimension because they keep taking it off the menu. Capitalism.”
“Can you not focus on food right now?” You see Wolverine shredded the neon webbing to pieces, understandably pissed off. “We need to get out of here.”
“Oh, I wouldn't do that.” You advise, “Not unless you wanna deal with hundreds of spider people as soon as you escape.”
“Yeah, we should sit this out, peanut.” Deadpool patted Wolverine's head, “Unless you wanna embarrass yourself again like when you fight Magneto.”
He growled, kicking the neon webbing away as if he had a personal vendetta with it. “Well, how long are we going to be stuck here?”
“Not long!” You look through your anomaly list, “After two Rhinos and one Mysterio.”
Wolverine sighed, his stomach growling, “Then is it possible to get some food? I'm fucking starving.”
“Are Mexican pizzas still on the table?” Deadpool rubbed his stomach.
“Sorry, I can't let you guys out.” You then look at your lunchbox, remembering the extra sandwich. Miguel wasn’t going to be able to eat it today. “Would a sandwich work?”
“I'd eat anything.”
“I believe him.” Deadpool added.
You slipped the duo the extra sandwich by partially opening up the cage. You told them to enjoy before going back to work. At least briefly before Deadpool started talking to past the time before you eventually had to send them home. You realized the man would keep going and going and going. Funny enough, it didn't bother you, considering working the Go Home machine tended to have a lot of quiet moments.
“I will say, despite being locked up in another dimension that's not my own, I would do it again if I had that hunk come get me every time.”
You lit up at the mention of Miguel. " Are you talking about the guy in the blue and red suit? Strong muscles? Arms you can get lost in?”
“Yes, him. Dude has an insane build. I'd like to have a party with him and two other guys. But you know what they say, four's a crowd.”
“…I thought the phrase was ‘three's a crowd’?”
“Not in this story it isn't.”
Wolverine roughly pushed Deadpool to the side, “Ignore him.”
“It's hard to when his voice resonates across the room.” You said with a hint of amusement.
“Now you see what I deal with every day.”
“I know, poor Wolverine.” You playfully pout, earning a sharp chuckle from him.
“By the way, thanks for the sandwich. It was good.”
You weren't expecting a thank you from the rugged hero, but you appreciated it.
“You're welcome.”
After meeting the infamous Deadpool and Wolverine, you were sure you wouldn't see them again. You couldn't help, but be disappointed by it. Working the Go Home machine all by yourself tended to get lonely. You got occasional visitors like Margo, Jess, Ben, Miles, etc. Miguel was busy as usual.
So it was nice to have some company besides the usual anomalies who were either too dangerous or too confused to speak to.
Maybe it was pure luck when Miguel came in one day with a sigh, carrying the same Wolverine through the portal—no Deadpool, though. Once again, Wolverine was unconscious due to Jess when they put him in the cage, covered with webs.
“Looks like we got a repeater.” You put down the hero's name on the list.
“I'd rather take him over Deadpool.” Miguel stretched and you tried not to focus on his v-line, burying your face in the tablet.
“I don't know, he's pretty funny.”
“Replace that with annoying.”
Once Miguel lowered his mask, you noticed his exhausted eyes. The red was not as bright as it usually was. “Go take a break.”
“I can't.” He ran his hands through his hair. “So many mission reports, new dimensions, new anomalies.” He motioned over to the still knocked-out Wolverine. “It doesn't make sense to take one right now.”
You glared at him, “Go take a damn break, or else I'm blocking you from my watch.”
“You can't do that without administrative controls.”
“I'll ask Lyla to give them to me.”
On cue, Lyla appeared above your shoulder. “I'll do it, Mig. You know I'm always down for a little fun.”
Not wanting to deal with that, Miguel stands down, following your advice to take a break.
“I'll see you?”
You motioned around you to prove a point. “I'm not going anywhere.”
Miguel’s lips curled up briefly, shooting you through the heart. You etched his small attempt at a smile in your mind, wishing you had Lyla quickly take a picture to send it to you. This crush was so stupid. Why couldn't you get yourself together? You would never be with him anyway, considering that Spider Society was first—no one else.
“Not this again…” Wolverine woke again in the same predicament as before, just without his friend.
“Sorry. At least you know what to expect now.”
“And you think that makes me feel better?”
“…yes? You saying you didn't miss me?”
Wolverine shook his head, not wanting to show you his slightly amused face. “I didn't say that, princess.”
The nickname makes you pause, blood rushing to your cheeks. It was nice to hear.
“We’re already on a nickname basis?”
“I can take it back.”
“Oh no, no need, Wolverine.”
“Logan. Rather have you call me by my name if I'm gonna keep coming back here.”
“Who's to say this won't be your last time here?” You asked while getting ready to put the next anomaly to the machine. “Also, I knew your actual name, by the way.” You wiggle the tablet in front of him.
Once again, you were under the impression that Logan wouldn't come back. Except he did the next day. Willingly, as well. Not knocked out or tied up with webs. He just walked through the portal with the other spiders and plopped down in the cage, pouting.
You thought the situation was odd, so you asked Margo to come down for a minute to see if this happened before with other anomalies.
“Oh yeah, all the time.” She said while observing Logan. “Had this Black Cat that kept showing up for a whole month once. There was no glitch, no secret dimensions collapsing. It was weird.”
“Yeah, that's…very weird.”
“You telling me I'm gonna keep showing up here for a month?” Logan asked, obviously not happy about that.
Margo shrugged, “Maybe? It could be much shorter, but we'll have to see.”
She showed you the statistics of Logan's original dimension, and you noticed how everything looked normal. The numbers weren't off, and the citizens were okay. It was nothing to bring up to Miguel that would cause concern.
“Let me out of here then.”
You and Margo glanced at each other, “We can’t. It's against the rules since you're classified as an anomaly.”
Logan huffed, “Didn’t think you were such a rule stickler.”
You weren’t. You didn’t want to upset Miguel. If Logan kept returning, you might as well skip all the rules. At least make him more comfortable until the system got itself together.
You messed with the tablet to let him out. Logan and Margo were shocked at your actions, and the latter quickly pulled you to the side.
“So, you're gonna take the heat, right? If Miguel gets mad at you?”
“He’s not going to get mad.” You paused momentarily, “I don't think.”
“Y'all might be tight, but he won't let this slide.” She looked over your shoulder to watch Logan, who stood by the opened cage, tapping his foot while waiting.
“I got it.”
Your plan was simple: have Logan keep you company until it was time for him to go home. You weren't going to admit to anyone else that it was a task trying to get some of the bigger anomalies in the machine. The spider mechanical legs were hitting their limit, and you didn't want to put them through maintenance, somehow still proving to Miguel that you couldn't handle it.
Margo let you do your thing when you gave Logan his day pass to stop him from glitching until he went home.
“No fancy watch?”
“No, sorry. Keep in mind this is only temporary.”
Logan nodded before searching the premises, “Any booze around here?”
“There’s the spider bar, but it's not open now.”
He let out a short laugh, “Really? A ‘spider’ bar? You’re shitting me, right?”
“Uh, this is coming from the person who rides in a X-Jet.”
You hold back in grinning when he blinked, “Alright, you got me there.”
Logan was a big help in helping you take the anomalies back to their respective dimensions. He hardly complained once you told him you'd grab him a couple of beers from the bar. And he kept you company, which you never thought you needed in this line of work. Working with technology tended to be a solo job. You just got lucky when Miguel noticed you and saw your potential. He helped you grow into the position you are in now. So, in a way, you wanted to prove he didn't put you there for nothing.
However, you felt all that crashing down when Miguel stormed into the room, seeing Logan was out of the enclosure.
“Care to explain why we have an anomaly out and about?”
You held the tablet close to your chest as you tried to devise a good excuse. Despite his rushed actions, you knew Miguel wasn’t upset as his brows weren't creased.
“He’s not out and about. Logan is under my supervision.”
Logan grunted in agreement, downing a beer you rewarded him.
“You know that's not part of protocol.” Miguel said, hands on his hips. The typical leader pose.
“Relax, bub. She's just doing me a solid.” Logan cut in, and you tried to hold in your surprise of how quickly he downed that beer. “By the way, you need to get better beer. This is shit.”
“We've hardly had any complaints from other spiders.”
“For a bunch of guys that can't get drunk, it's really easy to not give a fuck. ”
Miguel’s face twisted in mild annoyance, and you quickly stepped in front of Logan to save him.
“Look, I know I'm breaking some rules here, but this is just until we figure out why he keeps popping up in other dimensions. I'll be careful.”
You strained your neck to look up at him, his eyes searching yours. He was so close to you. His breath brushing along your head, raising your heartbeat. Miguel suddenly backed off, his face a little annoyed, but he'll get over it.
“I trust you.” You relaxed your shoulders, glad he didn't demote you. He then focused his attention on Logan. “Watch yourself.”
Logan scoffed, “What, you think I'm going to steal her from you?”
“You did not just say that.” Your head shot back at him and you could see the amusement on his face.
“Big guy's acting like I'm hogging all the attention.”
Miguel pinched his nose, “Just make sure he gets home.”
You watch him storm off, unsure how you made him upset once again. Actually, it was Logan's fault this time. Yet Miguel didn’t say anything about his comment. It could've been a one-off. He's big on avoiding questions he didn't want to answer.
You decided not to dwell on it.
Tumblr media
You jotted down every time Logan came through as an anomaly. It was like a game. You mark the day he comes through that portal, his face in his usual scowl. That quickly fades away once he sees you. You give him a few beers and he continues to complain about how terrible they are. Or how they're not as bad once you give it to him.
Whenever a villain anomaly needs to go back, Logan acts like your bodyguard—standing behind you to assert dominance. To not mess with you. They always intimidated you since you're among the few people in the building without superpowers. And you didn't want to bring that up to Miguel either. Luckily, Logan being there relaxed you.
In fact, despite his aura of not wanting to be messed with, he was delightful to talk to. Easily being engaged in the conversations you two have. There, he knew about your civilian life and how you decided to work at Spider Society to help make a difference. You didn’t expect to be in your current position, but you were grateful for it.
And you knew more about him. Every time an anomaly comes through, you get a dossier. Standard knowledge on whoever needed to get back home. But it never ran any deeper than that. Never gave you additional information about who they were as a person. Logan allowed you to see his other side when he told you about his dark past.
Somehow, you felt closer to him.
Miguel started acting strange whenever Logan was keeping you company. Before, you could count on one hand all the times Miguel came to see you when you started working the Go Home machine. Now, he was there a lot more than usual.
Saying he was checking up on how you're doing. If Logan was giving you any trouble, which the man didn't like that one bit. Making sure you were keeping to the daily quota of sending anomalies away. Playing into his boss role.
“Don’t forget to send me the system checkups before you leave for the day.” You gave him a thumbs up at Miguel’s reminder and said goodbye as he left for what seemed like the hundredth time today.
“I swear to god if he shows up here one more time...”
Logan unleashed one of his claws for emphasis and you got the point.
“He’s just doing his job. He can't have Spider Society start to slack. Otherwise-”
“The multiverse would start collapsing blah, blah, blah.” He grabs another beer, popping off the top with a slice of his claws. “I got it, sweetheart. I can still fucking complain about it though.”
You ignored your heart fluttering whenever Logan gave you nicknames like princess or sweetheart despite his relaxed tone. You found yourself eying his physique while he kept you company—especially those bulging arms. You weren't immune to how a man displayed his strength.
Your stomach churned when you tore your eyes away. You couldn’t be developing a crush on Logan too. You liked Miguel! And what was with you pining over men you never even had a chance with?
Speaking of pining for men you probably couldn’t be with, Miguel was finally free. After saying goodbye to Logan, he sent you a message asking if you were available. This was good; it was an excellent chance to see if your crush on Miguel remained since you two had been apart for a while.
Or maybe it wasn't good because once you walked inside, his face lit up at the sight of you. You hoped he hadn't heard your increased heartbeat.
“You wanted to see me?” You asked while trying to remain calm.
“Yeah. I wanted to see if you could keep me company.” Miguel said, “I've got to sign off on paperwork and you know how much I despise it.”
“Oh yeah.”
You got comfortable on the platform as he raised it, your legs dangling below. Miguel sniffed the air and grimaced at you.
“You smell like him.”
You purse your lips. “Smell like who? Logan?” Miguel grunted and you tried to hold in a laugh. “Well, he has been hanging around me almost every day.”
“I know.” His muscles tense up at the conversation. “I don't like you hanging around with him.”
You tilted your head, “Why?”
“Because.”
“Because what?”
Miguel remained silent, signing off on some more paperwork. You wish you had enough strength to knock him upside the head and quit the mysterious act. You'd be very successful, considering the lack of spider sense.
“Mig, how am I supposed to know what's bothering you if you don't tell me?”
You notice his shoulders tensed up more.
“He’s a drunk, too relaxed in his line of work, not serious when it comes to helping you with the machine.”
“He's been fine to me. And you know he can only get drunk, but for so long.”
Miguel sucked his teeth, brows furrowed. “He flirts with you.”
You wave him away, “It's harmless.”
“Not to me.” He's looking at you now. Serious. “He may have some underlying intentions.”
“What?” You start laughing, desperate to make this conversation feel like a joke. “Like he wants to get in my pants?” Miguel nodded to solidify it. “You know I'm a grown adult, right?”
“I'm only saying this as-” He paused as if he’s trying to figure out the right words, “as your friend. I know how men are.”
“So do I. I'm trying to understand what you gain in telling me this.”
“I don't gain anything. I'm looking out for you.”
“Bullshit.”
You wanted to leave his lab now. Miguel saying that too only made your crush on Logan even worse. Your mind now realizing that there's a possibility Logan likes you, but you were frustrated since you were so close to saying to Miguel that you like him. Just to see what he would say.
You grab his remote to the platform, lowering it to his surprise. You had to walk away and calm yourself down.
“Wait, what are you doing?”
“It's getting late and I should go home.”
You try to step off, but Miguel’s in front of you, panic in his eyes. “Don’t leave.”
“You were trying to convince me that another guy I've been around only wants to get with me. For what reason? Because you’re my friend? Don't play with me, Miguel.”
You try to go past him, but he's quick, taking your hand and spinning you around. You almost fall against his chest, but he keeps you upright, looking up at him with confused eyes.
“I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to make you angry at me. I just-” Miguel bit the inside of his cheek, words at the tip of his tongue. You don't say anything, waiting for him to say what he wanted to say. “I'm only saying this because I…I have feelings for-”
“Miggy!” Lyla called from above his shoulder, “We just got information back on-oh.” She noticed the two of you. “Oh no, was I interrupting something?”
“Yes.”
“No!” You quickly pull your hand away from Miguel’s. “He was just seeing me off. I'll head out now.”
Miguel called your name, “Don't go yet.”
“It's alright! I don't want to take you away from work.” You say goodnight to the two of them, booking it out of his lab.
Was he about to confess?
Confess what? That he liked you? It was absurd. Impossible. Miguel didn’t want you that way. At least you thought. Yet, when you came in the following day, he barely looked at you. He only said a simple good morning before continuing his leadership duties.
If he liked you, then why was he avoiding you? None of it made sense and you were trying to figure it out.
“You alright?” Logan asked, taking you out of your thoughts. You’ve been staring at the list of anomalies to send home for the day.
“Yeah, yeah I’m okay.”
You proceeded to get rid of your confusion about the man that was Miguel O’Hara by bringing up the next anomaly. Logan doesn’t accept your words when he placed a warm hand on your shoulder.
“Don’t know about that. The big guy didn’t stop by today to annoy the hell out of me, so something’s up.”
You grimace, thinking about the conversation last night. Would it be okay to tell Logan what Miguel told you? As you’re aware, your crush for the hero with the metal claws was blooming too. You thought you were handling it relatively well compared to your one with Miguel. Maybe it’s because deep down inside, he might be right about Logan when it came to you.
“It’s stupid now that I’m thinking about everything.”
“Well?” He folded his arms, waiting for you to continue.
“We got into a disagreement last night. Miguel thinks that you’re being so flirty to me because you want to have sex with me.”
Logan sharply laughed. You tried not to let his apparent amusement sting your heart.
“Somebody’s jealous.”
You shake your head, “That’s not jealousy. He said it was out of concern.”
“And you believed him?” Your silence told everything Logan needed to know, making him chuckle once more. “I get it. You’ve seen yourself, princess?”
“I-huh?”
“You heard me. You’re not bad to look at. I’m surprised he’s taking so long to confess to you.” Logan struts over to you, your back against the console. He’s not trapping you, but the distance was closer than what you two have had before. “I’ve seen the way he looks at you.”
“And how does he look at me?”
Logan’s eyes were filled with want as he traced your body. You didn't want to admit how much it was turning you on.
“He looks at you the way I am now.”
You bit your lip, holding in a rising smile. You just received an indirect confession from a hero from another dimension. And an unspoken one from another hero in your universe. You can’t believe it.
“He doesn’t look at me that way.” You try to shut it down and not get ecstatic at the idea of two men pining over you.
“Wanna bet?” Logan gets closer to you now. You allow him, taking in hints of the whiskey you were able to swing him from the bar. “Kiss me. See how he acts then.”
You let out a surprise snort. “Like he’s watching us right now.”
“You think he isn’t?”
You purse your lips, knowing it’s not uncommon for Miguel not to watch over areas of Spider Society to make sure everything runs smoothly, including your space. Logan lets you make the move, your hands moving along his yellow suit, feeling his pectorals. His dark eyes watch you intensely when you slide up to his neck, draping your arms around it. His gloved hands rest on your sides and it unironically makes you shiver. It's the most interaction you’ve gotten in a while.
“Go for it, sweetheart.”
So you kiss him. The taste of alcohol on his lips incites you further. Your body pressed along his to feel more of his body. Logan’s hands map out your sides as if he doesn’t want to touch you further than he is already.
That’s when a rush of air goes by you. Logan is gone, his body against the wall, cracks forming around where he landed. Miguel’s imposing frame towers over him, arm tight on his neck, keeping him there.
“Guess I was right.” Logan strained, a smirk plastered on his face.
“Oh yeah? And I was right about you. Wanting to fuck her.”
“Before you could?”
Miguel growled, his hold on Logan getting tighter. “You really want to do this?”
“Buddy, I’ve been wanting to kick your sorry ass since the day we’ve met.” Logan’s claws unsheathed and panic started to set in. You did not want them to fight right here.
“Hold on, can we just take a minute to-”
They weren’t listening to you when Miguel was flown back, slamming into a console. The electricity slightly glitched his suit as he gathered his bearings, eyes on Logan the entire time. The Wolverine crouched, arms out wide in his battle stance. Miguel’s mask was up, waiting for him to make the next move.
“Guys, please don't do this. I don't wanna see you two get hurt-”
You took cover behind a console as they started to fight. Bits and pieces of technology flown everywhere. Strands of Miguel’s webs on the side. Marks from Logan’s claws all over. Bits of blood staining the floor and you weren't sure who it belonged to.
To say you were scared was the wrong word to use. Because you weren't, despite your head filled with your fast-paced heartbeat. Oddly, you were flattered.
After all this time of thinking you weren't the person Miguel wanted, the person Logan was into changed in a moment. They were fighting over you. You.
You liked it but didn’t want them to kill each other over it.
“Lyla?” You called the AI, who showed up in an instant.
“Hang on, I'm getting several system failures from the Go Home machine-oh my god.”
“Yeah. Can I get some help in here, please?”
Not long after, the men were separated. Some spiders held Miguel back while Logan had to be locked up once again to calm down. All of your coworkers were shocked at the destruction those two caused.
“Uhh what happened?” Jess asked Miguel, who didn’t say anything. He brushed by her to cool off. So she asked you, and you tried to come up with an answer that didn't sound weird.
“Miguel and Logan just had a misunderstanding.”
She pointed to the torn-up console that was currently being repaired, “How is that a result of a misunderstanding?”
You shrugged, struggling to say something cohesive. “I don't know. It's like I blinked and they started trying to tear each other’s throats out.” Because of you, but you didn’t add that part.
Jess rubbed her temples, “Alright. I'll talk to Miguel later. Are you okay, though? They didn't get you, right?”
“I'm fine.” You show her that there wasn’t a scratch on you. “Is it okay if I leave early though?”
“Yeah, go for it.”
Tumblr media
You decided to stay home after that day—more out of embarrassment than anything. No one at Spider Society probably knew about the reason Miguel and Logan were fighting yesterday. Well, Jess might, but not anyone else. It felt embarrassing because you secretly liked it. Two incredible men in their respective fields want you, a random citizen.
You didn’t say a word to them when you left, so you couldn’t leave them high and dry.
That’s why you called Lyla, giving her instructions to have Logan stay until the end of the day if he showed up again and to call Miguel back to the Go Home machine around the same time. You needed to get yourself ready for what you wanted to say.
Time went by so fast for you.
It did not give you enough time to properly rehearse or to calm the anxiety stuck in your throat. Your shower went on forever, and you were sure you sat in your room for almost an hour trying to figure out the clothes you would wear as if you needed to woo them more than you’d already had.
You steeled yourself when walking into Spider Society, settling on a simple hoodie and jeans. You could barely hear yourself think as a few spiders greeted you, some asking why you weren’t here today. You didn’t have much time to talk, so you used an example of taking a mental health day. Because you absolutely needed it.
That’s when you walked to the machine room and saw Logan there, just as you expected. Margo was there too, and she was showing him how to play one of her favorite mobile games, which involved slashing fruit.
“Hey.”
Miguel appeared beside you, almost scaring you. “Oh geez, hey.”
“Are you…did you want to-?”
“Hey, hey!” Margo interrupted, greeting you with a wave. “I heard you were sick.”
“I took a mental health day.” You explained, “Sorry, I should’ve told you.”
“It’s alright.” She waved it off, “I was playing games with this guy all day.” Margo motioned to Logan, who didn’t say anything, folding his arms.
“Go home. I’ll take Logan back for you.”
You can see Margo wanting to question it despite hearing you needed a mental break. But there was an unknown tenseness in the air, and she was a smart girl.
“Uh, okay. See ya, Logan. Bye bye, boss.” Her avatar dissipated, leaving you three alone.
“You alright?” Logan asked to cut the silence.
“I'm fine.” You reassured.
“Are you sure?” Miguel stepped closer to you, “A lot happened that day, and part of it was my fault.”
“Don’t hog all of the blame.” Logan grunted, “It was my fault too.”
“You're both okay.” You reached over and took one of their hands, squeezing them affectionately. “I just didn't want you two to kill each other.”
“Like he would've tried.”
Miguel side-eyed Logan momentarily, “I could've given different circumstances.”
“Sure, bub.”
“Okay!” You focus their attention on you, not wanting to cause another fight. “I wanted you two here to address the giant elephant in the room.” Their intense eyes on you make you a little nervous, sweat clinging to the nape of your neck. You weren't sure what their reactions were going to be. If, after all of this, you needed to find a new job.
“I like you, " you say to Miguel. A light flickers in his crimson eyes, and you notice him trying to hold back a smile.
“I like you too.”
That confirmation boosts your confidence a little.
You then turn to Logan, “I like you too.”
“You're not too bad yourself.” He casually said. “Don’t know how the big guy is gonna take it.”
“I'm right here.” Miguel scowled at him before focusing on you. “What are you trying to say?”
“What I'm saying is…I want you both.”
It was a big risk saying something like that to both of them. None of them appeared to want to share their partner with another. Unless it's under specific guidelines. You didn't have any, but you knew how you felt. And if they didn't agree, maybe you were better off not being with anyone.
Miguel appeared to be hesitant, while Logan was hardly phased. “Not the first time I've had this offer.”
“It's different, but I know what I feel for you two is real. And I'm open to trying.”
The gears are turning in Miguel’s mind as he’s thinking it over, his hand never leaving yours.
“Okay. I'll try for you.”
You shimmied with joy, pulling both of them in for a hug. You felt their hard bodies and tried not to focus on how different they were from your own. There were many rules you probably needed to set, but for now, you wanted to take it as is.
When pulling back, you stopped short between the two of them. Miguel captured your attention by turning your head towards him with his index finger.
“Can I kiss you?”
You darted down to his lips before nodding. Miguel quickly captured your lips with his. You thought your kiss with him would be gentle and light. Instead, you felt the desperation of finally being able to taste you after all this time. His groans resonated across your ears, letting you know how much he wanted you.
Miguel kissed you so much that you felt dizzy when parting, but Logan's chuckle brought you back to reality.
“Was he better than me?”
Miguel sucked his teeth when you pretended to ponder, “I think I need another reminder.”
Logan kissed you, parting your lips to slip his tongue inside. He also groans in your mouth, a steady hand on your hip. You had to grip Miguel’s shoulder to keep balance when you parted again, also dazed.
“Well?”
“It's about the same.”
The two men groaned simultaneously, hoping you would say which one was better.
“You look pretty like this.”
“For once, I agree with him.”
That's when they began their journey of your body. Logan latched on to your neck, kissing and sucking on it while Miguel peppered your face with kisses, managing to capture your lips a few more times. They lingered on their respective sides, caressing your breasts, fingers tracing down your back, groping your ass.
Logan took over momentarily, your back against his chest while he sucked on your neck again. Miguel’s kisses on your lips silenced whatever escaped from your own. Their movement were picking up in speed, and you faltered trying to keep up with them.
“Fuck.” Logan paused, sniffing the air. “You smell delicious.”
You started getting flustered, “What? Don't tell me you can…” You squeezed your thighs together.
“I can smell you too.” Miguel sniffed, his being a bit more discreet.
This was about to be a problem. If you didn't say anything, you were sure clothes would be thrown all over the consoles. You didn’t need yet another scandal in the Go Home machine.
“Let’s go somewhere more private.”
That's how you managed two superheroes in your apartment. Two horny ones at that. Some part of you wanted to pinch yourself to wake up from a dream. The way their eyes stared you down, blown from lust, standing so close to you that you could feel their body heat. But this was real.
“If any of you guys are uncomfortable-”
“If we were uncomfortable,” Miguel started, unzipping your hoodie and tossing it to the side. " We would've said it, right?”
Logan grunted, coming around from behind and raising your arms. He pulled your shirt off in one motion, leaving you in your bra.
“You okay with this, princess?
His whispering made goosebumps form on your skin. “Obviously, since I started all of this.”
“Just checking.”
Logan picked you up, angling you in a way that allowed Miguel to remove your shoes and jeans. When he settled you down, Miguel wanted to admire more of your exposed skin. His fingers circled along your plush thighs. Logan's centered along your breasts, pushing them up against your bra and making you sigh in relief.
You didn't want to get too caught up in your pleasure, noticing the guys still had on their suits. You reach over to Miguel, feeling his chest to see how to remove the suit, but he stopped you with his hand on top of yours.
“I got it.”
With his watch, his suit is gone. Only leaving him in his boxers.
Logan grumbled, “Show off.”
You turn around, your back against Miguel’s chest. You felt his lips on your neck as you went to help Logan with his suit. Having a little difficulty with the multiple kisses he gave you on your lips, forehead, and cheeks. He helped you by guiding your hands to his zipper. As you pull it down, Logan pressed against you, practically sandwiched between two half-naked, bulky guys. Who couldn't stop kissing and touching you.
Your hands brushed along their hairy chests, noting how Miguel’s was softer than Logan's coarse strands. Suddenly, you were being picked up and laid flat on your comforter.
Both men were on each side of you, the bed slightly creaking from the extra weight.
“Whoever breaks my bed is gonna pay for it.”
Logan tsked, “Say that to money bags over there.”
“I'll take responsibility and get you a better one if it happens.” Miguel reassured you.
As they spoke, your bra was removed with one hand by Logan. Your panties were pulled down and thrown away by Miguel. Cold air hitting your cunt told you exactly how wet you were, aching for more.
“I'm eating her out. Since you stole my kiss.”
Miguel told Logan, who scowled, clearly not happy about it. But got over it once his lips trailed down to your breast, taking your nipple in his mouth. Miguel matched him, latching on to your other breast. His hands trailed down your stomach and to your aching cunt. You felt him falter when his middle finger went in your soaked hole.
Logan wrapped his arm around your thigh, spreading you wider for Miguel to continue pumping into you. You were having a hard time keeping quiet between Miguel lazily pumping two fingers into you while Logan was determined to create marks on your skin. Hands tangled into their hair, tugging on it occasionally to replace your moans. The action spurs them on even further.
Miguel trailed his lips down, across your stomach, appreciating the fat you have and running his tongue along your naval. So slow. So agonizingly slow. He gives you mercy by continuing his journey down, kissing on your inner thighs. Logan maneuvered so he was behind you again, your head resting comfortably along his chest while you were spread wide for Miguel. He’s hovered above your aching cunt, eyes glazed over at the sight of you.
“Let me know how she tastes.” Logan said while nudging into your head. His large hands cupped your breasts.
Miguel groaned against your sex when he dived in. His tongue parted your folds, his lips closing in to suck on your clit. There was no point in being quiet anymore, you moaning loudly as Miguel ate you out. One hand slid down his curls, creating a solid grip that could pull his hair out. Logan wasn’t missing out as he continued to massage your breasts, his beard scratching along your face. You grip the nape of his neck, pulling him into a messy kiss. Tongues dancing amongst each other.
You were getting double the attention. Your body heating up at the pleasure. Miguel groaned against your drenched cunt, not stopping once to take a breather. He made sure your legs remained spread with his hands holding you down.
Even Logan didn’t let you try and move to escape your impending climax. Your breaths picked up, your lips wavering against his, your eyes rolling back. Miguel kept going as your body exploded with immense ecstasy. Your cries being a work of art and an indication of how good both of them made you feel.
You felt like you were floating as they kept prolonging your orgasm. Miguel lapping at your sex and Logan pinching your nipples.
“That means I can fuck her, right?”
It was Miguel’s turn to scowl at Logan. “No. I’m already in this position anyway.”
“But you got to taste her. Now, I get to fuck her.” Logan proceeded to move you around, but Miguel stopped him with a hand on your ankle.
“No way.”
“Guys…” You mumble, slowly gathering your bearings. You feel eyes on you when you roll over to the nightstand, pulling out your box of condoms. You toss them to Logan before giving Miguel a sympathetic look.
“Next time, okay?”
Before he could express his opinion, you crawl over to him, tracing your fingers around the lining of his boxers. You wiggle your ass and glance back at Logan, permitting him to pounce on you. You notice the apparent tent in Miguel’s boxers before pulling them down. His cock was huge with a slight curve, pre cum leaking from his tip. You make kitten licks around his lip as Logan gripped your hips, his cock rubbing against your ass cheeks.
He sunk into you, causing you to shiver in ecstasy. You moan against Miguel’s shaft, licking up and down. His hand had a gentle grip on your nape as he watched you.
“Tan bonita, nena (So pretty, baby)…”
You whimper when Logan slid out of you before thrusting back inside. The thrusts strong enough to have you jolt against Miguel’s cock.
“Fuck me…” Logan grunted, creating a delicate rhythm with his hips. “You feel…oh fuck…”
You moan while taking Miguel in your mouth. You try to take as much as you could while stroking the rest, matching the rhythm Logan created. His grip on your hips get stronger as well as Miguel’s on your neck.
A symphony was conducted in the bedroom. Your moans blended in with Miguel and Logan’s, who were the main stars. Their grunts and groans as they filled you up on both ends played well with each other. All you could do was take it, drool seeping down Miguel’s cock, creating more lubrication for you to stroke.
Logan’s grunts change pitch, getting deeper. His thrusts were getting disorganized, desperate to reach his peak. Miguel was on the same end. His hips push forward in your mouth, not enough to make you choke. Both of his hands are on your neck now, creating a faster rhythm to finish.
You wondered who was going to finish first.
“I’m about to…” Miguel warned you, ready to pull out, only for you to keep him there, still sucking his soul out.
“S-So am I-” Logan’s grunts turn to outright whines when he comes, latching on to your hips. Miguel isn’t too far behind when after a few more thrusts, his cum coat your throat. You swallow it all, not missing a single drop.
As Logan pulled out of you, Miguel moved you to rest your head, his bicep under it. Your hand grazing Logan’s chest when he lies beside you, capturing your breaths, allowing the space to reach a comfortable silence.
You tried not to let your thoughts wander to what would happen next. If all of this would be a one-time thing and everything would go back to normal tomorrow, you didn’t want to ruin the moment.
“I…” Miguel spoke against your head, “I thought we’d go on a few dates before this happened.”
You snickered, “We can still go on dates. Since this is going to be serious, right?”
“Right.” He kissed your forehead.
“I’ve always wanted to go to the aquarium.” You then smack Logan’s chest to capture his attention. He was on the verge of falling asleep. “Hey, you wanna go to the aquarium one day?”
“Anything you wanna do, I’ll do too.” He said with a short shrug. “Just give me a heads-up first.”
“Got it.”
Getting an overwhelming sense of gratitude, you gently kiss Miguel’s lips before leaning over to do the same to Logan. Your heart was whole and ready for this new chapter in your life.

Can I get a Dean Winchester fic with number 8) He pins you down on the carpet, makes paintings with his tongue. Maybe a little size difference added in, if you want? If not I'm fine without! Thank you!

Companion piece to:
Gatlinburg - Dean falls in love in a tiny town in Tennessee.
With You - Dean tells you he's going to stay the night.
You, Me & Tennessee - Dean always returns to Tennessee.
On The Mountain - Dean wishes he was back on the Mountain with you.
Tumblr media
Dean’s feral tonight, he has been since he rolled into town and saw another man kissing you on your doorstep. It’s a shitty kiss. Tentative, tepid, barely anything at all but it lights up every nerve ending in his body because it means you’re dating just the way he told you to.
Because Dean doesn’t do commitment, he doesn’t come back to the same girl after he’s hit it.
Except with you he does. He’s lost count of the times he’s found himself in Gatlinburg tangled up in you.
“You need to find yourself a nice guy to settle down with.” He’d told you as he redressed in the light from the breaking dawn. “Someone who can take you on dates, who sticks around.”
“Yea, because the shit I get up to on the mountain, that’s the type of stuff you can bring home to someone else.” You say sarcastically as you sit with your back against the headboard.
He hadn’t had anything to say to that so he’d walked out instead, closing the front door quietly behind him, before double checking it was locked. He’d stuck around until you’d turned out bedroom light before he’d hit the road again.
Tonight he waits for that guy to pull away before he knocks on your door. You answer it with no shoes on, still wearing that pretty red summer dress that you went out in and Dean he just loses it.
You don’t make it to the bedroom, you don’t even make it into the hall because Dean has you pinned to the rug, his face buried between your thighs, his tongue painting his name on your clit.
“Oh Harlow baby, he can’t do this to you can he?” He mumbles against your slit as your fingers thread through his hair. “He can’t get you off like this.”
“Dean.” You whimper because he has you right there on the cusp of nirvana.
“Say it Harlow.” He whispers, his hand slapping lightly against your clit, sending a jolt of ecstasy vibrating through your entire body. “Tell me I’m the only one that gets to make you come like this.”
“Christ Dean.” You cry out as his fingers slip inside you, stroking over that deviant little space, the one he always seems to find. “You’re a jealous prick.”
“Yea, I am.” He admits as you clench around his fingers. “Especially when it comes to my girl.”
“Your girl?” You question, your hips arching as his thumb traces circles over your clit.
“Yea.” He says with a ferocity he feels in the depths of his soul. “My fucking girl.”

happy reading <3
I'm late. Very late. I'm rushing. No, I'm sprinting.
I'm late to the most important interview of my life, all because I wanted coffee.
I shout out a quick “thank you!” to Bastria and sprint out the door. I have 5 minutes to get there. I think to myself I can get there on time. I can do this.
Quickly running across the crosstalk, I can see the Prudential Center. Almost there, almost there. Shit, 3 minutes to spare. I pick up my speed, if that's even possible at this point. I can feel my neck beginning to sweat as I take each step.
As I turn to the arena, I feel a chest suddenly crash into mine, instantly feeling the cold liquid; my coffee runs down the front of me.
I pull back from the stranger with a shriek. Looking down at my white shirt that's now covered in brown. My eyes began to water. This can not be happening to me.
“Oh my gosh, shit I'm so sorry” I heard the stranger say, not being able to pull my head up to meet his eyes, if I did, he’d see mine filled with tears.
I pull my wrist to my face to check the time, I'm 3 minutes late. Late. Now I'm crying, big hot tears are hitting my cheeks before I have the chance to stop them.
“Hey hey don't cry, i'll get you a new shirt. Let me help you clean up” the stranger speaks again.
I tilt my head up to finally look at the stranger and I can't believe my eyes. Luke Hughes. you're actually fucking kidding me. His eyes are locked with mine, I'm trying to search for words to say but I can't seem to find any.
“H-here take my hoodie” Luke says as he pulls his hoodie off his body. Holding it out for me to grab it, taking the hoodie in my hands whispering a small “thank you” in his direction.
“you’re welcome” he says as he clears his throat, “again I'm really sorry” Luke speaks again. “It's okay” I sigh back, my eyes meeting him again, “ thank you for this, I have to go” I quickly say to him as I turn on my heel, I can feel more tears on my waterline threatening to spill.
As I make my way away from him, rushing to find a bathroom. I hear someone shout “HEY” behind me, I turn around briefly, to see Luke still standing there “I NEVER GOT YOUR NAME, I'M LUKE” he shouts at me. “Y/N” I yell back, as I turn back around not waiting for his response.
 Im quickly rushing into the bathroom, taking in my disheveled state. Tearing off my shirt and throwing it in my bag as I put Luke's hoodie on, his scent filling my nose, he smells good I think to myself. I pull myself out of my trance quickly. Grabbing a paper towel and bringing it under my eyes and wiping away mascara that's fallen on my face. Fixing my hair, licking my lips deciding this is good enough.
Glancing at my watch, to see that I'm now 10 minutes late. Shit. I began to run through the center, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, my chest and legs burning each step I took.
Finally getting to the place where I'm set to have my interview. I slowly walk into the room, hoping my devils hoodie gives me brownie points and distracts them from the fact that I'm over 10 minutes late to my interview.
  “Y/n! there you are! I was starting to think you wouldn't show!” “I'm Micheal but you can call me Mike,” Mike says to me as he holds his hand out to me, I quickly grab into a shake. “I'm super sorry I'm late” I say quickly, “I had a… coffee accident” I chuckle out. If you only know who ran into me, Mike, I say to myself.
“Its okay, no worries! You're here now and that's all that matters!” he says back to me, i smile back at him.
“Lets sit, and get this interview rolling” he says while pulling out a chair for me to sit in, quickly taking a seat placing my bag on the floor beside me.
“Yes, let's get started!” I replied back, “oh nice Devils hoodie! I meant to tell you that when you walked in” he says to me. “Thank you!” I say as I look down at the hoodie. Thanking Luke in my head for bumping into me.
“Okay let's get started, '' Mike says. Nodding my head quickly in response, i really hope I get this job, I say to myself.

Tumblr media
It was your first time on the set of a music video and you were absolutely thrilled to be there. You managed to score a co op position as an assistant crew member on a Billie Eilish set. Having been recommended by your arts school. You hadn't expected them to agree, but you were beyond thrilled they had. They showed you the ropes of stuff, giving you pointers here and there and letting you help a help with the lighting to keep you entertained. Though your main task was bringing drinks and snacks, as well as delivering messages to between the departments. Despite those tasks, you wouldn't change your experience for anything. Especially since you got to see Billie Eilish herself when she came on set.
Someone had asked for you to bring her a bottle of water, so you did without hesitation. Handing it to her with a slight tremble in your hand. Her eyes locked onto yours and you felt your heart skip a beat. Her eyes always had this intimidating but soft look to them that seemed to just draw you in.
"Thanks, miss..." She looked down at your visitors pass, raising an eyebrow when she saw the 'co op student' label but no name.
"Y/N, Y/N L/N." You introduced yourself with a bit of a stutter, she gave you a soft smile.
"You're here on co op?" She asked and you nodded," and they have you delivering drinks? Doesn't seem like much fun."
"I got to help a bit with the lightning," You rambled, her expression softened and she shook her head.
"That's not nearly enough experience, why don't you go help some of the tech crew? Let them know I sent you," Billie gave you a playful wink and your cheeks flushed.
"T-thank you."
"Don't mention it."
So you spent your time helping out the tech crew, upon Billie's request. They guided you, even let you help move around some of the cameras and mics. Though your eyes kept landing to Billie, absolutely enthralled by everything she did. The way she moved... it was effortless and alluring.
Before you knew it it was break and you seated yourself in a lounge area. Where Billie happened to walk over to you.
"Hey! How was tech crew?" She asked as she came and sat with you. Little did you know, she had been stealing glances at you whenever you weren't watching her. You'd caught her attention more than she cared to admit.
"It was awesome! Thank you for getting me on there," You replied, she nodded and smiled at you.
"Of course, if you're just retrieving coffee and what else then the co op is kinda pointless," Billie replied with a shrug.
You definitely couldn't argue with that. You'd learned a lot more with the actual hands on experience than you had with just watching from afar.
"So what college do you go to?" She asked, trying to start a conversation with you and hopefully get to go a little more.
You told her about your college and what you were studying, how you'd gotten this opportunity and everything. She seemed to listen to your every word, giving you small nods to show she was paying attention.
"Film and cinema have always been my favourite, I've seen so many movies and I try to watch as much as I can to learn, music videos included. So getting to actually be here and experience the behind the scenes was so so cool," You rambled, your hands making movements and gestures as you spoke.
"Well, I'm glad I got to meet you today. Can I give you my number?" Billie asked, a slight smirk tugging at her lips.
"Wh-what?" You stuttered, a little taken aback by the offer.
"So we can keep in touch, in case I need more help on set and maybe to hang out?" She was a lot more forward than you were ready for, but you nodded without hesitation and handed her your phone.
So much had happened today that you hadn't expected, but you wouldn't have traded that experience for anything.

Accidentally Coincidental
CHAPTER 10 (click pictures for better quality)
|⇠Previous | Next ⇢|
Tumblr media
a/n: updates will be slow, i'm working on a pretty long fic on my side blog.
pairing: Idol!Kim Seungmin x Fem!College Student! Reader
genre: contemporary romance
SMAU
synopsis: Y/N, a regular college student accidentally texts Seungmin, a star in the K-pop group Stray Kids while trying to text her Ex, Soonyoung to come pick up his things, leading to an unexpected connection that blossoms into a heartfelt romance.
ignore time stamps, dates (other than the ones mentioned during texting) and typos
THERES A WRITTEN PART, DO NOT JUST SCROLL THROUGH THE PICS!
WARNING: I think Seungmin took something this chapter, he's a littleeeeee too confident.
There you were, sitting across from Seungmin in the cozy café, genuinely hard to believe that this guy, who had teased you endlessly with texts, was now right here- smiling at you in that soft, playful way that had come to mean so much. His smile became infectious, a mix of mischief and warmth, with the wrinkle in the corners of his eyes and sparkle in his eyes to say he was as excited as you were.
“So,” he said, leaning in slightly over the table as he folded his hands together. “I have to admit- I wasn't exactly expecting you to go through with this whole meeting thing. Guess that makes you braver than I thought.”
You quirked a brow, smirking as you took a sip of your coffee. “Oh, please. You're the one who invited me here. Sounds to me like you're the one who wanted this all along.”
He chuckled low, adjusting his cap to look down for a moment, almost bashful. “Touché. I'll give you that one.” Then, in that so familiar teasing tone, he added, “But if I remember correctly, someone promised me a kiss once upon a time. Or did you forget?”
Heat rose to your cheeks, but you couldn't help laughing at his persistence. Even now, he had a way of bringing out a side of you that felt bold- a little daring if you will. “Oh, I remember. But maybe I'm still determining whether you've earned it or not.”
“Earned it?” he mocked, offended to the point of absurdity. “You have any idea how many hoops I had to jump through to get you this far? The least you could do is admit you're just a little smitten with me.”
You rolled your eyes, but there was no concealing the tugging upward of the corners of your lips. “Wow, humble and overconfident. Impressive combination.”
He grinned, shrugging. “What can I say? It's one of my many charms.”
The banter flowed effortlessly- teasing exchanges that added an exhilarating energy to the air. As the evening wore on, you began noticing how the café was slowly emptying, leaving only the two of you in this dimly lit space. The soft hum of background music mixed with the soft glow of fairy lights, an almost surreal intimacy.
Seungmin's gaze softened as he looked at you, the warmness in that expression making your heart flutter. “So,” he murmured, his voice lower and almost hesitant, “do you think I've earned it yet?”
His question hung in the air, laced with a vulnerability you hadn't seen before. For that one second, he wasn't the sarcastic guy who hid behind playful remarks. He was just Seungmin, waiting to see if you felt the same pull, the same unexplainable connection.
You felt your heart speed up as you shifted closer, your eyes locking onto his. “Maybe,” you murmured lowly, “but I'm still waiting for you to prove it.”
He held your gaze, “Fine. If that's the way you want it…”
Before you could answer, he leaned forward and gently tucked a strand of hair behind your ear; his fingers lingered no more than a second longer than the task required, but it was long enough to catch your breath. His eyes traced the curves of your face as if committing every detail to memory, every freckle, every line. The hardness in his expression had softened, an unspoken intensity that seemed to bleed the whole world to gray.
You needed to break this bubble that almost appeared to form around you. “It's getting a bit crowded in here, isn't it?” you said, glancing at the café that was suddenly nearly cleared out. “What about taking a walk?”
Seungmin chuckled; “I know a nice path not too far from here.”
You rose to your feet, and he did the same, some of the warmth from him clinging to you and wrapping you in the comfort of a woolen blanket. Out onto the streets from the café, the cool evening air nipped at your skin, invigorating and refreshing it. The streets were quiet, softly lit by streetlights, with a soft glow on the pavement.
While walking side by side, the subjects turned lighter: favorite movies, embarrassing childhood stories, and mutual dreams for the future. Every laugh, every playfully given nudge, felt like another step closer, a cementing of that bond initially fostered through your texts. You could feel the electricity in the air, that magnetic pull seeming to draw you closer together.
"Alright then, now that we're out here," Seungmin said, turning to you, "do you think I deserve that kiss?" You felt your heart go up at the question as a playful sparkle danced in his eyes, your tummy fluttering. "Maybe," you replied, tilting your head a little. "But I think you need to work a little harder."
Another step in, and the space between you was smaller. "What do you suggest?" he said, in a low teasing voice with just a hint of sincerity lacing his tone that caused your breath to quiver.
"Surprise me," you said, almost daring it.
He paused, his eyes probing yours, and then, not breaking his gaze, he leaned in closer, pulling his mask down, his breath warm against your skin. "Last chance to back out," he whispered, so soft you could hardly hear it over the night sounds.
You laughed softly, shaking your head. "Not a chance."
With that, his lips grazed yours tenderly at first, like testing the waters, as if he wanted to make sure you were still there, still with him. The world around you melted into nothing. When you didn't pull away, he deepened the kiss, his hand moving to cup the side of your face. It was a moment that seemed timeless, every heartbeat loud with the thrill of finally being this close.
You drew back, breathless, but he wouldn't let you get too far. His forehead against yours, he chuckled softly. "Well," he murmured, "I'd say that was worth the wait."
You rolled your eyes, smiling despite yourself. “Always have to get the last word, don't you?”
"Of course," he grinned, tugging you closer. "Now that I finally got you here, you think I'd let you off the hook that easily?”
You laughed, and for the first time in what felt like forever, you felt that warmth, that sense of happiness. The connection between the two of you was palpable, electric. This was where you were meant to be, the start of something beautiful and uncharted.
You had shared that first kiss, and for a beat longer, you were still wrapped in Seungmin's embrace, the hum of the city soft around you, the warmth between you souring into something indescribable.
Finally, he drew back, pulling his mask over his face again, his throat clearing with a nervous smile. "So… what now? Another walk?" he stammered, with a gesture toward the quiet, tree-lined path beside the river. It was one of those places that seemed out of a picture postcard: streetlamps cast a soft, pale glow over the water, and the moon high above reflected off the surface in shimmering ripples.
"Lead the way," you said, smiling, as he fell into step beside you.
As you walked, the conversation drifted from light banter to something a little more meaningful. Seungmin asked you about your other interests and listened as you talked about your love for editing and the kind of stories you wanted to tell. The more you spoke, the more you noticed his focused attention, his gaze locked onto you with an intensity that coursed through you on waves of exhilaration and vulnerability.
"I gotta say," he interrupted at one moment, "it is pretty impressive, what you're doing. You know, not everyone has the guts to follow their passion that way."
You laughed, nudging him playfully. "Says the guy who's living out his dream on the screens in front of millions."
He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. "Touché. But still, there's something different about being behind the scenes, making the magic happen."
You walked in comfortable silence for quite some time, sometimes brushing shoulders as you strolled along the riverbank, lulled by the sound of water lapping against the shore. City lights were bright, but here they felt so very far away as if this small bubble of quiet belonged only to the two of you.
You eventually sat down on a stone bench at a right angle to the river, for which the city skyline was waltzing on the water's surface.
"Hey," Seungmin said, pulling out his phone, “we've got to take a picture to remember this, right?”
Before you could protest, he'd already clamped an arm over your shoulder, pulling in close and snapping a quick photo. You couldn't help but burst out laughing as he insisted on more, experimenting with goofy faces and poses until he finally settled on one: both of you smiling, looking at each other instead of the camera, the river glinting behind you.
"That one's perfect," he said softly, studying the photo with a soft smile. "See? I told you I'd get a good one."
You rolled your eyes, but your heart fluttered at the way he looked at you. "Send it to me, then."
"Only if you promise I'll be getting more photos like this in the future." He said it lightly but there was a hopeful look in his eyes, as if he was already thinking about the next time.
"Deal," you said and felt a shy smile spread across your face. It was a weirdly momentous moment, you'd just promised something bigger.
As the night wore on, Seungmin kept the conversation light, slipping in more of that sarcastic charm that had drawn you to him in the first place. He'd nudge you playfully whenever you teased him, tugging you closer with every step. Finally, the two of you wandered back toward the bench, sitting close as you looked out over the river.
There was a sense of heat between you two, something electric and steady at the very same time. He reached out, taking your hand in his and lacing your fingers together. "You know," he murmured, voice low, "I didn't think finding you in person was going to feel this…right? Like it was always supposed to happen."
It left you speechless for a moment, your heart beating with frantic beats as your mind digested his words. "Me neither," you said softly, your eyes slipping to his hand in yours, the fact of what connected you hitting with lovely, unmistakable clarity.
When you looked up at him again, any sign of hardness in his eyes was gone, his gaze tracing along your face in that quiet way it had before. He quietly took off his mask and leaned into you again, his free hand delicately cupping the side of your face, his thumb stroking along your cheek as his lips found their place on yours in a kiss that was deeper, bolder this time filled with all the things words couldn't quite say.
After a few lingering moments, you finally pulled back, breathless, wearing a matching smile with him. "Guess that makes up for all the teasing," he whispered, his voice warm with amusement. You laughed, shaking your head. "Maybe I'll let you get away with it…this time."
He smiled, tugging you back in once more as you stood there in silence, the world fading away until it was just the two of you.
~~
You couldn’t stop smiling the whole way home, replaying the night in your mind, each memory bringing back the warmth and excitement you’d felt. Just as you reached your door, your phone buzzed with a message from Seungmin.

Alibi
The morning had gone seemingly well, having the day off, you were able to take care of a lot of errands you had been putting off such as pulling all of the weeds from your backyard that managed to weasel their way back in even after drenching them in weed killer.
You were so engrossed with picking them and listening to one of your favorite podcasts, you almost missed hearing the doorbell ringing. Taking the gloves off, you paused your podcast and went inside to answer the door, slightly surprised to see two very professional people standing outside.
"Good evening ma'am. I'm Special Agent DiNozzo with NCIS and this is Agent McGee, mind if we ask you a few questions regarding Karen Moss?"
You shifted your weight nervously, stomach turning at the sound of your friends name.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?"
They shared a solemn look between the two of each other, telling you everything you needed to know.
"Her body was found this morning a few streets away and based on her call history, you were the last person to speak with her before her death. May we ask where you were last night around 11pm?"
You covered your mouth in shock, not believing that they just told you that your close friend died, let alone was possibly murdered and know were questioning you as if you might be a suspect. You thought back about the time they were referring to and memories of Jethro and you tangled together in your bed sheets popped into your mind. You thought about telling them, not sure if they even worked with Jethro, but decided on giving them the simplified version instead.
"I was here. With my boyfriend.."
"Is he here now to verify your whereabouts?" DiNozzo asked, taking a small peek over you as if he'd catch a glimpse of someone fleeing. Were all NCIS so suspicious?
"No, but I can give you his number. His name is Leroy Gibbs. His number is-
"Wait, sorry. Leroy Gibbs?" Agent DiNozzo interrupted, facial expression disbelieving. "Grey hair, high and tight haircut, broody mysterious Leroy Gibbs?"
You chuckled a little at his choice of words to describe your boyfriend, seeing how well he made an impression on people.
"Well not usually broody around me but yes, I guess you could say that. Why? Do the two of you know him?"
Once again, the two agents shared a look, this time one of confusion and awe.
"Uh, could you just hang on one second," DiNozzo asked. "I'll be right back."
You stood there with Agent McGee who looked like he wanted say something, but didn't as Agent DiNozzo walked a few paces, pulling out his phone and dialing a number.
"So was Kathy murdered? You said her body was found. When I talked with her last night, she said she was on her way to meet up with someone for a blind date," you asked McGee who was focused on the phone call Agent DiNozzo was having.
"Well Abby was able to go through the Lieutenant's phone and her number was the last dialed. We were just following- Uh yes- Well I wasn't sure- Of course boss, I'll tell McGee."
Agent DiNozzo came back over before murmuring to Agent McGee.
"Gibbs wants us to bring her in for protection. I told him you'd explain to him why we questioned his girlfriend without letting him know."
"What do mean, me? You're the one that had Abby look up the phone records."
"Just take one for the team McProbie. He's still mad at me for the whole coffee incident. Plus, you owe me."
You watched the two supposed Federal Agents argue like siblings, neither one of them wanting to be in the line of Jethro's mood and honestly it was kind of funny. Jethro never really talked much about his team but you had only been seeing him for a few months and 9 times out of 10, the two of you weren't doing much talking when you saw each other.
You decided to break up the little tiff the two of them were having in order to save some time.
"Alright, well while the two of you sort all that out, I'm going to change and lock up the house before we leave."
"Sounds good," Agent DiNozzo responded before going back to bickering with his partner.
- - - -
You took another sip from the little paper cup of water Agent David had given you as you waited in the conference room. She wanted to know about you and Jethro but you didn't divulge much information, knowing Jethro liked his personal life kept close and unknown for the most part. It wasn't long before the door opened and your boyfriend walked in along with Agent DiNozzo and David. You decided against giving Jethro a hug or kiss in front of his subordinates, although the both of them looked like they'd love nothing more than to see that happen.
You all sat down at the conference table except Agent DiNozzo who was wound up tighter than a jack in the box.
"Did Kathy give you a description of this blind date she was seeing?" Jethro started the questioning with. You spoke about everything you knew from the phone call you had with Kathy, tearing up towards the end, still not believing your friend was dead.
Jethro reached out to hold your hand and give you a tissue to wipe your eyes with, making his agents stare in interest at the caring gesture.
"It's like I'm in an alternate Gibbs reality," DiNozzo whispered to Agent David.
Jethro shot him a look before speaking. "Why aren't the two of you putting out a BOLO on this guy?"
"On it boss," Agent DiNozzo spoke quickly, leaving the room with Agent David following close behind, shutting the door after them.
"I think you should stay with me just in case until we catch the killer," he offered, standing up.
"Ok," you squeaked, not wanting to do much talking anymore.
"Come ere," he ordered softly, pulling you to your feet and into his arms for a hug. You accepted it eagerly, breathing in his scent, calming you down a bit.
Once you were better, the two of you walked out of the room and into the squad room, not expecting to be stared at by almost everyone there.
"What kind of reputation do you have with the opposite sex to make everyone look at me like the new zoo exhibit?" you asked Jethro, making him chuckle.
"They're just being nosy. Ignore them."
Jethro stopped Agent DiNozzo from asking anymore questions about the two of you as well as pulling you away from a very animated Forensic Scientist that seemed to have had entirely too much caffeine.
Jethro accompanied you back to your house where you packed a bag before driving you to his house, making a drawer available for you in his bedroom.
"I get my own drawer now. Things are really becoming serious, aren't they?" you teased him.
"Hey, I'm not the one who told my agents that I was your boyfriend," he retorted.
"Should I not have?" you asked genuinely worried that you had overstepped a boundary. He pulled you into his arms, staring into your eyes and tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
"I don't mind the title. Just know that they're gonna have a million questions for you now," he stated, referring to his very curious agents. You smiled, giving him a peck on the lips and loving the new stage you both were now in.
"That's alright. I'll be sure to tell them how you love it when I give you back scratches while we cuddle together and watch movies."
Your joking was cut short as his fingers pressed themselves into your ribs, effectively tickling you till the both of you were on the bed, him hovering above you.
"You know, had it not been for you, I wouldn't have had an alibi for last night," you told him, running your fingers through his hair.
"Must of slipped my mind but," he murmured into your skin, kissing your shoulder. "I don't exactly remember how last night went. Maybe you can help jog my terrible memory."
Laughing at his playfulness, you played into it, pulling him in for a passionate kiss, ready to remind him exactly what happened that night.

Tumblr media
"Ahh, I can't do this anymore" you signed as you just finished another paperwork that you got today. It's been only a week since you got a job at KQ. As a manager, it’s been more tiring than ever.
"Miss y/n, Mr. Mingi wants his afternoon coffee» «Yes sir" you went to make him his coffee and went to his office.
"Y/n, be careful, he doesn’t seem to be on his good mood today. One of the employees almost ruined his work" your friend said before letting you go inside. Well thanks to her now your heart is beating faster than ever.
"Your coffee is ready Mr. Song."
"Come in" his deep voice almost made you drop the coffee. Not today y/n, not today.
You took a deep breath as you slowly opened the door, stepping in.
He was sitting on the office chair, eyebrows tangled as he read through some paper, the sunlight coming through the window on his golden honey skin.
His suit was on the hanger as his hand was playing with the collar of his shirt, hair kind of messy cause of his glasses in it.
Your gaze caresses his features until they were on his chocolate eyes, which were....
..
...
LOOKING AT YOU?!
shitshitshitshitshit
His eyes were locked with yours, already lost focus on the pages he was reading, wondering about the girl who came in a minute ago, standing frozen.
"Are you going to bring the coffee, or should I ask someone else to do it" he said looking unbothered.
His voice woke you up as you made your way towards his desk, almost tripping on the way, feeling his gaze lowly on you.
"Stupid heels" you thought, you still weren't used to these clothing since you started working there.
"Here's your usual Sir, is there anything else I could bring for you?" You asked about setting the coffee on his desk.
He ran a hand through his hair, fixing it as he put down the paper in his hands.
"Take these papers and give them to Mr. Choi, say I signed them" he said leaning back on his chair, sighing as he closed his eyes for a second. Stretching his arms out. You nodded as you leaned down to grab the papers, and dang. the stupid high heels.
You tripped on the left foot as you trying to balance yourself on the chair. But it didn’t work since you ended up there you were now.
On your boss's lap.
On Mr. Songs’ lap
ON SONG MINGI'S LAP
You froze, couldn't do anything. Not like you could, the situation was a bit too awkward.
His arms still behind his head eyes wide open as he stared down at you. Lied side-way on his legs.
He cleared his throat as he slowly lowered his arms, slowly putting them on the arm beside him.
It took you a few seconds to realize what situation you're exactly in. You tried to get up, but it wasn't really easy because of his ling limbs keeping you away from the ground.
Tall men🙄
"I-I'm sorry sir I-"
You tried getting up again but then you lost balance and almost fell off of his lap, before his fast reflexes helped and he wrapped his arms around you, securing you on his lap.
"How about you stay here Miss...?"
"Y-y/n"
"Well how about our Y/n stay here for a bit huh? I'll give Mr. Choi the papers later" he said smirking as he moved you on his lap, locking you in between his limbs.
"Well, maybe you needed a break after all. »

...AMMO HEADQUARTERS...
"Alright, I organized all the files in the drive so we can understand everything when we look over it," Dorn huffs, sitting back in his chair.
After infiltrating the lab, the team headed back to the station to plan their next move. Sitting on the couch in the middle of the room, Rya picked at the little glass shards stuck in her still-cuffed hands. Feeling someone sit next to her, she looks up to see Kelly holding a first aid kit.
"I brought you the first aid kit... there's some tweezers and wound spray... thought you might need it," she says, setting the kit on the coffee table in front of them. Mumbling a small thanks, Rya picks up the kit for the tweezers. Noticing Kelly still there, she looks back up and raises a brow at the girl still staring at her.
"So... an assassin? Umm, that's pretty cool, almost lik—" Kelly starts to ramble before she realizes the deadpan look on Rya's face. Shutting her mouth, she stands up.
"Yeah, sorry, I'll just... leave you be," she nods, walking off back to the others.
Blinking down to her hands, Rya picks up the tweezers, gently taking out the small shards stuck in her skin.
"Ok, so for the really fancy restaurant you have to be on this list to get in, but I was able to work my magic and get Rya on there with no problem. So, we're on for tomorrow. It should be a smooth mission," Kelly says, smiling up at the team.
"Thanks, Kelly... well, I'm calling it a night. It's getting pretty late, make sure you all get some sleep. We got a busy day tomorrow," Rita says, waving at everyone before walking out the door.
"Yeah, it is getting late. We'll see you all in the morning," Kelly says, packing her things, Dorn right behind her doing the same.
"Oh, before I forget, Rya, if you ever need a therapist, I can give you my counselor's number. She's amazing; I really recommend it," Dorn says with a small smile towards Rya. She squints her eyes at him.
"Dorn... just... goodnight... let's leave the therapy talk for another time," Marcus says, waving him off.
"I'm just saying, therapy has helped me with a lot," Dorn says, with his hands up before leaving with Kelly patting his shoulder.
Mike gets up from his desk and walks over to Rya. "Alright kid, I can take these cuffs off since they ain't stopping nothing anyway," he says, grabbing her wrist to unlock the cuffs.
Rubbing her wrist, she can see a purple indent had formed from the cuffs cutting off her circulation. "Thanks," she mumbles.
"You can sleep here tonight. We have a pillow and blanket in that closet over there," Marcus says, picking up his car keys and pointing to a back corner.
"Yeah, we still have to tell our wives about a possible guest staying with us, so for tonight, you just have to stay here. Everything will be locked up, but you have the common room to use. We'll see where you'll be staying at tomorrow. You'll be good on your own?" Mike asks, looking down at the girl.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I want to look over some stuff anyway," she says, getting up and walking towards the computers.
Saying their goodnights, Rya watched as the pair walked out the door, locking it behind them before waving one final time. Rya pulls up a chair and looks through the different files on the computer.
After an hour of clicking through a couple of photos and documents, she lands on an old photo of her family. She'd never seen the picture before... completely different from the image of them she has buried in the back of her mind, all smiling, naive to the tragedy awaiting them in the future... one she doesn't want to remember. Staring at it for a few minutes, she suddenly feels a pair of eyes on her.
Already knowing who it is, she leans back in the chair and turns her head. "We have a problem?" she asks sternly, raising her brow towards Armando standing by the double doors.
"I don't trust you," he says simply.
"That's fine... I don't quite trust you either," Rya says, crossing her arms, now turning the chair completely towards him.
Walking down the steps, "I recognize you... I couldn't figure it out before, but now I do," he states, stopping to lean on the middle table, looking down at the girl in front of him. "You almost killed my mother a few years ago."
Staring at him for a little bit, she tilts her head. "Your mother is Isabel Aretas, right?" she says more as a statement than a question, already knowing the answer.
"Well... seems like someone got to her before me, so," she shrugs, turning her chair back to the computer screen. Noticing he was still quiet, she looked back to see him glaring at her, clenching his jaw. "No offense."
Armando shakes his head before sitting in the chair next to the table. "I don't believe you completely went rogue... if what you say is true about him controlling you, then you still have some loyalty left in you," he says, crossing his arms.
"You're right... but couldn't the same be said for you? Some loyalty should be left to the cartel, you know... since they raised you," she says, raising a brow.
"The only person that raised me is my mother... I don't owe loyalty to anyone anymore."
"Your mother kept and trained you to do her dirty work, there's a difference," she deadpans the man in front of her. Ready for the conversation to end, she couldn't care less about his opinion because it wasn't his help that she needed; he was just there.
Noticing his expression change for a split second, she can tell the statement caught him off guard, but he quickly recovered. Armando gets up from the chair and walks towards the door. "You got one time to fuck up," he says, looking back at her. "I won't hesitate to utilize what my mother trained me to do."
Hearing the door shut, Rya stares at the spot Armando once filled. Feeling her eyes get heavy, she sighs and makes her way towards the closet in the back corner to grab a blanket and pillow.
Walking back to the couch, she passes the computer screen that still displayed the old family photo. Stopping for a second, she closes out the tab and makes her way to the couch. Laying down, she stared at the ceiling until her eyes closed.
---------------------------------------------------------
*WARNING: GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS, NOT FOR WEAK STOMACHS, TRIGGERING SCENES AND WORDS COULD BE MENTIONED*
"Please... please... no more... please."
Strained pleas sounded from the man on the blood-stained floor. Another sound of ripped flesh and cracked bones could be heard, causing the man to cringe, close his eyes, and weep.
"Open your eyes," the uniformed man demanded before kneeling down next to the man, gripping a chunk of his hair, forcing his head up to watch the scene in front of him. His dead wife's body, covered entirely in blood, had open wounds all over her body as the suited man above her continued to mutilate her.
The man stands up, towering over her lifeless form, fixing his suit. Bloodied hands push his hair back from his face.
"What did I tell you would happen, huh?" the man huffs, staring down at the man.
"You thought you could betray me? And get away with it?" The man slowly walks to the man's beaten form.
"Kill me... please... don't do this to them... I betrayed you. I betrayed you... I BETRAYED YOU KILL ME DAMMIT," he begs, glaring back at the man.
"Oh... I was planning on that whether you asked me to or not," the man chuckled.
The grunts of the man flowed through the young girl's ears watching from the side. Both stared at the scene in front of them. One stood with dried-up tears and swollen red eyes, hiccups coming from her body every few seconds. Numbness flowed through her body. Slowly shifting her eyes from the scene in front of her, she looks at her younger sister sobbing in the uniformed man's arms. His gloved hand roughly covered her mouth to silence her, but it remained ineffective as you could still hear her strained screams.
She could feel her tears stream down her face, scared for what's to come. She could feel her body shaking, forcing the man holding her to tighten his grip to keep her still, causing a sob to form out of her body.
"Daddy, I'm scared," she cried for the bloodied man on the floor. She looks as her father's eyes meet hers. Her hero... the strongest man she knows... weak and scared on the floor. His lifeless eyes stared at her. All hope for her gone. She feels her body get tugged out of the room, her sister's screams flood her mind.
"Do as I say... and you and your sister will be free," the voice sounds through her mind.
She feels the heat of his rough hands caress her face, burning her cheek.
"Do as I say... and you and your sister will be free!"
*END WARNING*
Jumping up out of her sleep, Rya gasps while holding her chest to catch her breath. She can feel how damp her shirt is and her hair sticking to her forehead. Sweat covered her body. Feeling like her body is on fire, she hurries to push the covers off her completely, sitting up on the small couch.
Looking around, she realizes she is still at the station. Feeling her body relax, sitting there for a second, her hands grip the ends of the couch. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.
'Jesus Christ.'
She opens her eyes after a while. Furrowing her brows, she brings her hands up to her cheek. Looking down at her fingers, she notices a wet substance on them: tears.
Shaking her head, she gets up and makes her way to the water machine to pour herself a cup of water.
It’s been a long time since she has had that nightmare. It used to occur every night that first month, but then it suddenly stopped. The last image of her parents was something she buried deep in the back of her mind. That photo must have brought it to the surface. Looking up at the clock to see what time it is, the time reads 3:40 in the morning.
Looking back at the couch, she decides to make her way over to the computers to read over the files again. Not wanting to risk having that nightmare again. She couldn’t go back to that stage in her life... she refused.
---------------------------------------------------------
Hearing the doors open, Rya's tired eyes looks up from the computer screen, watching Marcus make his way into the room.
"Good morning. You look like shit... didn’t we tell you to get some sleep?" he said, placing his plate on his desk, taking off his jacket, and looking over at the girl hunched over in the chair.
Rolling her eyes, she leans back in the chair, dropping her legs to the floor to stretch a little bit. "I got caught up," she yawned.
"Uh-huh... caught up in an apocalypse. How are you supposed to work your lady magic at the restaurant when you look like a walker from The Walking Dead?"
"Hey, leave her alone, Marcus. She does not look that bad," Kelly says, walking in. "Besides, that couch is not the most comfortable, so I can’t blame her for not getting any sleep." She looks over at Rya, mouthing, "Ignore him."
Shaking her head, Rya looks back at the screen in front of her, ignoring the comment from Marcus.
"DAMN, did you get in a fight last night while we were gone?" Mike says, walking into the room with Armando next to him, dropping his stuff in his seat. She can hear Marcus laughing behind her.
The sound of whistling can be heard as Dorn walks into the room. Saying good morning to everyone, he stops in his tracks when he sees Rya. "Heyyy Rya... rough night?"
Dropping her hand on the desk, she looks up from the screen with a huff. "Y’all got one more time to comment on my appearance," she says, fed up.
"Woah, don’t bite, walker. I don’t want the smoke," Marcus jokes, smiling with his hands up. He and Mike snicker at each other. "That was good."
"Alright, enough. Let’s get serious. We have a lot to do." Rita sighs, standing in front of everyone, causing them to change their focus to their boss.
"Today, Rya is going to get information from Sergio’s two best dealers. Dorn, I need you to make sure all of your drones are up and running. Kelly, make sure Rya’s necklace has audio and footage. Mike and Marcus, I need you two to make sure all areas are secure and that we have a safe exit for Rya in case she needs to escape. Armando, we need you for backup in case anything goes wrong, so be ready. Does everyone remember the plan?" She asks, looking at the team, all nodding their heads.
"Good... Rya... make sure to freshen up. We need you to look the part for this to work." She smirks, watching as the woman rolls her eyes before making her way to the locker rooms.
"Dammit, I left the dress for Rya to wear at my place, and I still have to fix her necklace," Kelly huffs, throwing her bag down.
"It’s okay, Kells. Armando can take Rya to get it when she’s out of the shower," Mike says, leaning back in his chair.
"I never said that," Armando huffs from the couch.
"Didn’t have to. Look, you two got to get along or at least tolerate each other so we can all work together," Mike says, looking over at his son.
The two stare at each other for a bit until Armando lets up and nods his head. "She has one chance."
---------------------------------------------------------
'Well, this is great.'
Sitting in the front seat, Rya glanced over at Armando gripping the steering wheel, focused on the road. It’s only been 10 minutes of them together, and the ride was already intense. Taking a breath, Rya looked back out of the window, watching the buildings go by.
"I never tried to kill your mother," she starts. She can feel his eyes look at her for a second.
"You shot at her and missed, killing the person behind her," he said, staring back at her.
She scoffed at that before shaking her head. "That’s because I was aiming for the person behind her... trust me, if I wanted to kill her, I wouldn’t have missed... I never miss," she says, looking at Armando.
The two stare at each other for a second without saying anything. Realizing how long they were holding their stares, Rya lifts a brow at the man. "The road still exists, you know? I would watch it if you don’t want to get us killed." Breaking the eye contact, she looks back out the window.
"If I wanted to kill you, it would’ve been done by now and not in a car accident," he says focusing back on the road in front of him.
"Yeah, but I would’ve had to be on your mommy’s hit list for that to happen, huh?" She rolls her eyes.
Pulling over the car, Armando parks to take off his seatbelt and look at the girl in the passenger seat.
"I told you you had one chance. Bring up my mother again, and I will end all this shit."
Raising both brows, Rya looks over to Armando. "Nigga, I will have yo ass sent back to the fucking cartel in a body bag. You ain’t ending shit," she crosses her arms, looking at the man in front of her like he was crazy.
Huffing before closing his eyes, he sits back in the seat before calmly speaking, "Rya... go inside and grab the dress."
Looking past his form, she notices that they were in front of Kelly’s house. Squinting her eyes back to Armando, she unbuckles her seatbelt to get out.
"I’m going because I have to, not because you told me to."
"Ry-"
Before he could finish whatever he was going to say, she stepped out of the car and purposely slammed the car door. After a few minutes, Armando looks back up to see her walking back to the car bag in hand.
"Got the dress. Let's go," she said, not making eye contact with him.
Armando nodded and started the car, pulling away from the curb. The rest of the drive back to the station was quiet. When they arrived, Rya got out of the car without a word and headed straight into the station with Armando following behind.
"Well damn, what happened between you two?" Marcus asked, feeling the tension between the two as they walked in. Both of them ignored him and went their own ways.
"I ain't want to know anyway... damn," Marcus said, sitting back down. Looking over at his partner, he pointed back at where the two had been standing.
"Those two need some therapy, and I mean real-ass trauma-dumping therapy."
"Marcus, shut up," Mike said, shaking his head

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It'd been a week since your encounter with Dabi...and, truthfully, you still didn't know what to make of it. He was obsessed with you to a point where it was crucially concerning...and yet, you weren't exactly complaining. You loved the attention. He was comfortingly familiar; your best friend and guardian angel brought back to life in the form of an animalistic villain who would burn the world for you. It was certainly the most thrilling part of your life...and the most exciting that it had been in years. Dabi was very adamant that you remain at your apartment rather than bring you to the League of Villains' base. He wanted to keep you safe...away from anyone who may seek to use you as leverage or bait. Still...it was apparent that you two were...something of a couple at the very least. Dabi was staying over every chance he could, and the feeling of someone watching over you was now sickeningly stronger than ever. You would look over your shoulder as you worked, expecting to see his silhouette, but he was always out of sight.
...
You'd finally finished the prototype for the temperature controller, and, rather than hand it off to your client, you'd decided to bring it home for Touya to try out. You carry the briefcase in one hand and your apartment keys in the other as you shove them into the lock of your apartment. The second you turn the keys, you're blasted with the scent of alcohol and smoke.
"Finally home, princess?" Dabi's gravelly voice echoes off the walls as you slip inside the darkness, closing the door behind you. As your eyes adjust, you can make out the familiar blazing cerulean flame that casts shadows across the walls, gently dancing from a candlewick. He's sitting down on the couch, his feet propped up on the coffee table with a tall bottle of booze in his hand. He lifts the bottle to his lips, his eyes trained on yours intently as he gulps the alcohol, draining half the bottle without taking a breath. The collection of empty bottles sprawled on the floor tells you that he's been rooting through your stash that was meant to just be for parties and special events.
"How long have you been here?" You scoff, your cheeks tinting pink when you realize his eyes are starting to drag across your body...borderline analyzing you. Dabi chuckles darkly when he puts the bottle down, visibly very drunk; he simply shrugs, snickering to himself as he leans back, putting his hands behind his head and staring at you lustfully.
"Long enough. You shouldn't have kept me waiting," He mutters snidely, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "Y'know...you're looking-hic-looking pretty good tonight."
"I'm in my work clothes," You reply flatly, walking toward him and setting the briefcase on the table, "I brought you something to try."
Dabi clicks his tongue, and he reaches out, grabbing your wrist. "There's something else I wanna try," He grins, looking up at you with half-lidded eyes.
"Touya, I really think you need to see this-" You start, only for Dabi to forcefully jerk you onto the couch, where you land with a grunt on the cushions beside him. He roughly grabs you by the shoulders, forcing you to look at him before he sloppily presses his lips against yours. He reeks of alcohol and ash, and you can taste the liquor on his long, warm tongue as it prods against your own. He practically sticks it down your throat, and you can feel the healed stitches in the back of it as you tentatively tease back. You raise your hands, trying to push him away when he wraps his arms around your body, pulling you even closer as he groans lowly into the kiss. Your eyelids flutter shut, coating your vision in darkness.
"Mmmmm, I missed youuuu," He pants as he briefly pulls away before his lips smash against yours once again. "You taste so good, baby," He groans, the alcohol clearly filling his brain with nothing but lewd ideas. His words send a chill down your spine, making you shudder. You have to admit, Dabi's possessive obsession with you is exhilarating. His upper lip is soft while his scarred, bottom lip is rough, and the contrasting sensations in his kiss always make your heart skip a beat. Dabi's tongue traces the roof of your mouth, and one hand roughly grips your shoulder while the other one disappears. The faint sound of rustling fabric reaches your ears, followed by more intense groans from Touya...borderline moaning between each hasty kiss. You open one of your eyes, squinting through the darkness as you continue to kiss the villain. You can see Dabi's arm moving, and it doesn't take you long to realize he's palming himself through his jeans, hips slowly grinding his clothed erection against his hand.
"Touya!" You gasp as you pull away, eyes trained on the straining fabric; the unmarred flesh between Dabi's scars on his face glows red.
"Couldn't help it, princess. I'm so-hic-so...I want you so bad," He slurs, his other hand coming up to caress your cheek before he gently pulls down your bottom lip with his thumb. You freeze, unsure of what to do before he slowly presses his thumb into your mouth and onto your tongue.
"Suck," He commands under his breath, and, as if in a trance, you comply, completely hypnotized. Dabi's eyelids flutter, and he leans forward to softly sink his teeth into the side of your neck. He pulls you into his lap, and you gasp when you feel his hard cock pressing against you through both of your clothes. Dabi pulls his thumb out of your mouth and thrusts his middle and pointer finger in its place, almost making you gag with how far he sticks them inside. You cough, and Dabi chuckles under his breath, dragging them across your tongue as you attempt to suck on them.
"Good girl," He practically growls, reaching up under your pleated skirt and pulling your panties to the side. Roughly, he pulls his fingers out of your mouth...and promptly slips them into your dripping cunt. You cry out in surprise, and Dabi shuts you up with another deep kiss that makes you relax.
"So wet for me, baby," He hushes, biting his bottom lip as he pulls away from the kiss. He unbuttons your blouse with his free hand while his fingers pump inside you. He's being a little rougher than usual because he's drunk, but he's certainly more vocal and reactive.
"My beautiful princess," Dabi slurs out in a breathy whisper as he pushes your bra up above your breasts, not bothering to unclasp it before he wraps his lips around one of your nipples. Your moans pitch higher and louder at the combined stimulation, and you look down to see his ocean-blue eyes boring into you. "Mine," He whispers around your tit, attempting to force the whole thing in his mouth as if his life depends on it. He squeezes your other breast, his warm, calloused thumb ghosting over one nipple as his tongue teases the other.
"Oh Touya~," You whimper, and he groans at the mention of his real name. He curls his fingers in just the right spot, and you cry out even louder.
"Fuck, I need more of you," Touya rasps, and, hastily, he pulls his fingers out. Before you can protest, he takes hold of your shoulders and flips you over. You frantically put your hands on his legs to brace yourself from falling, and you feel Dabi grab your thighs, jerking your pussy toward his face as he lies down. You slide up his body until your face is just above his clothed erection.
WHOOSH!
In one swift motion, he tears off your skirt and panties, leaving you bare, and without a word, he shoves his face between your legs. His enchantingly warm tongue traces up and down your slit, and he sighs at the taste, muttering soft words of drunken praise. It feels so fucking good. The moment his tongue touches your clit, you flinch, only for him to pull you closer, forcing you to let him pleasure you. Your name is on his lips, and, in the heat of the moment, you start unzipping his pants, pulling out his throbbing cock. Dabi gasps as you wrap a hand around his dick, slowly leaning forward to place your lips around the tip.
"Fuck," He moans before slipping his tongue inside your slit, gently lapping against your insides, making you squirm. He digs his sharp, serrated nails into your thighs as he tongue-fucks you, moving your hips.
"Touya," You whimper with your mouth full of his cock as you feel pleasure building up in your lower back. You bob your head up and down, sucking like your life depends on it. Effortlessly, Dabi pulls his tongue out and lifts you up higher to suckle your clit, and you deepthroat in response, taking him all the way in until your eyes are watering and your nose touches his balls.
"Ohhhh, damn princess," Dabi growls, swirling his tongue around and around in just the right spot, making your heartbeat race as pleasure stirs deep within. You pull back, a string of spit connecting his tip with your lips as you dissolve in pure ecstasy.
"Touya-Touya-I'm-" You gasp breathlessly between wanton moans as Touya holds you up, eating you out with an intense hunger.
"Come for me...Come for me princess...I want it...I want it so bad," Dabi snarls desperately, and your voice pitches higher and higher until your orgasm comes crashing down through your entire body. Even after you've came, Dabi still doesn't stop.
"Fuck, you taste so good," Dabi moans like a porn star as he continues to devour you, despite your overstimulated whimpers that spill from your lips. Frantically trying to distract yourself, you turn your attention back to Dabi's dick, which twitches the moment you press your lips to his leaking tip. Immediately, one of Dabi's hands crawls up your lower back and presses down harshly as he thrusts his hips, forcing your head down and making you gag.
"Suck that cock, baby," He groans, finally pulling away from your overwhelmed cunt to lean back and sigh in drunken pleasure. Your eyes brim with tears as you breathe heavily through your nostrils, completely submitting to Touya as he face-fucks you. He rocks his hips, breaths coming out labored and heated as he twitches in your mouth.
"You're doing so good, love," Touya slurs, his hand that's putting pressure on your back snaking up to gently grasp at your hair. Your heart flutters at the praise, and it only takes a few more seconds before he's spilling down your throat.
"Fuuuuuuuck," He moans loud and low, his fingernails raking down your back as you swallow it all. You take a deep breath, gently pulling back and wiping the tears from your eyes and the spit from your mouth before moving to lie on top of Dabi on the couch, resting your head gently on his chest.
"That feels...so much better," He hums, laughing softly to himself before he yawns.
"Rough day?" You ask, looking up at him as he wraps his arms around you, pulling you close.
"Why'd ya think I've been drinkin'," Dabi sighs, looking down at you with a serene, content expression.
"You wanna get into something more comfortable and come to bed?" You propose, your fingers tracing the bit of unmarred flesh on his pecs that's exposed by his V-neck.
"May need help...I'm...pretty sloshed," Dabi admits with a grin.
"I can show you what I brought for you in the morning. C'mon," You sigh as you slowly get off the couch and extend your hand for him to take. Dabi looks up at you with tired eyes and a blissed-out smile from the afterglow before he grabs it. Carefully, you help guide him to the bedroom, where you both officially strip down to nothing and cuddle close under the covers.
"I wasn't too rough tonight, was I, princess?" Dabi yawns as he spoons you, burying his face into the top of your head.
"Never," You grin softly, bringing the back of his hand to your lips and kissing it. Dabi chuckles darkly behind you, and you can hear the alcohol-fueled grin on his face as he says:
"Don't say never...you might be giving me a challenge."
Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau X babysitter teen reader (part 2)
Hey its been a while since I last updated so sorry for the wait!
Request: Can you write a part 2 for the Jennifer Jareau x babysitter and she has to learn to overcome flashbacks and anxiety when coming back to the house and JJ is there for her like a her real mom should be.
Start of Recap...
She flinched when she heard someone walk in, JJ slowly walked over to the girl and knelt down she looked at Y/N as tears threatened to fall. "Y/N" she whispers "its only me JJ" she said her words made the girl look up tears gathered quickly as she saw JJ. "JJ" she said Horsley JJ nods her head.
"JJ" she sobbs jumped into the woman's arms JJ held her tight in her arms. "It's okay it sokay your safw don't worry, you did such an excellent job Baby, you protected this house perfectly" she whispers into the girl hairs as she cried. JJ was glad she was alive and protected the boys to well.
End of recap...
Third person pov...
It had been weeks since Y/N stopped the unsub, she hadn't been able to step into the LaMontagne since she killed the unsub, she hadn't been able to babysit for JJ or Will since it happened.
Y/N approaches the LaMontagne home, she pauses at the gate to the front garden, she clenches her hands into fists as her mind flashes back to that night weeks ago.
Flashback...
In pain the girl stood up, eyes squeezed in pain as the glass in her skin bled out, she could feel the blood dripping from the many cuts she got. The girl looked around her holding the knife she turned and saw the person she held the knife and swung early a grunt of pain from the person.
Y/N then ran into the living room looking for her phone that she stupidly forgot. As did the unsub took a chance and punched her hard making the girl fall she grabbed the coffee table so she wouldn't fall to the ground the unsib hovered above her his weapon on his hand pointed at her, then she realised it was a gun.
With a gasp Y/Ns eyes open, her heart pounding in her chest, her hand over her heart, her palms sweaty from the panic, she sees the front garden and breathes she wasn't even in the house yet and panicked.
Taking a few deep breathes the young teen opens the latch on the gate, her hand shaking as she touches tje cool metal, taking another deep breath she steps into the garden the gate swinging shut behind her.
"...jesus" she mutters as she jumps at the gate, her heart still pounding in her chest hands clenched tight, taking a breath she repositions her bag on her shoulder before moving into the garden and over to the front door.
She hesitates before ringing the doorbell, hands still clenched tight as she waits for the door to open, a few seconds later the lock clicks as swings open.
JJs eyes widened as she sees Y/N at the door, a smile appears on her face as she opens the door fully, happy to see the teen at the door. "...Y/N...sweetie" she says before taking the teens hand in her own. "...are you okay?" She asks her crouching slightly to look into the teens E/C eyes.
The H/C haired girl gives the older woman a small smile and nods squeezing her hand. "...I'm fine...just wanted to come by and see you guys" she explained making JJ smile widen.
"That's good then..the boys have missed you" she tells the teen before motioning her to come in, Y/N takes a breath before walking into the house, JJ closing the door behind her.
JJ then puts her arm around the young teen looking at her pale face. "...arw you sure your okay being here?" She asks her, Y/N looks up at the blonde woman and smiles despite the anxiety she was feeling.
"...I'm okay JJ" she tells her, JJ gives her a look before nodding, she then brings her to the living room where Micheal and Henry were sitting on the sofa watching a kids cartoon.
JJ purs both hands in Y/Ns shoulders as they enter. "...boys..look who's here" she speaks gaining their attention, both boys look over at their mom and see Y/N.
Henry gasps. "N/N!" He exclaimed before jumping off the couch and running over to the teen wrapping his arms around her waist, Micheal giggles and follows behind his brother clinging to Y/Ns pant leg.
The teen laughs as she pats Henry's and Micheals head. "Hey boys, miss me?" She asks them both boys nod eagerly as they grin up at her, JJ laughs at her sons joy to see the teen. "...we've all missed you N/N" she tell her, making Y/N smile her earlier panic subsiding as she feels the love the family have for her.
For the next few hours the teen spends tje afternoon with JJ, Henry and Micheal. Laughing and forgetting out her flashbacks and anxiety of returning glad they still love ans want her there.
After dinner she helps JJ to put Henry and Micheal to bed before, tje teens joins the agent in the living room, they sit on tje couch next to each other, JJ holding a glass of wine and Y/N a glass of F/D (favourite drink).
The two sit in a comfortable silence the TV playing a random movie before JJ speaks. "...I know you said you were fine..but how are you really?" She asks the teen.
Y/N looks up from her drink and sighs softly tapping her nails against the glass, her mind flashes back to the unsub making her shiver, she's silent for a minute.
"...I've been okay...it's the flashbacks that are the worst" she speaks clenching the glass tight as her mind flashes back to that night again. The broken window, the Unsub and his gun, the feeling of the glass piercing her skin.
She still had the scars from tje glass, then JJ takes her hand pulling the teen from her thoughts, JJ looks at Y/an her blue eyes filled with worry as she saw the distant look in them.
"Y/N...hey..come back to me baby" she speaks gently as she squeezed her hands, the H/C teens visibly shakes as she relives the memories, JJ then cups her cheek with one of her face.
As she does the teen comes back to the present with a gasp, she looks at JJ tears rolling down her face, JJ sees the tears and brings her in for a hug, one hand rubbing her back thw other cupping the back of her head, the teen sobs in her arms her head against her shoulder.
The blond woman holds the girl as she cried shushing her as she rocks side to side holding Y/N in her arms like a mother with her child.
"...it's okay..your okay" she whispers softly as she soothes the teen, Y/N eventually calms down speak to JJ about her flashbacks and what she can to to help her.
The end!
I hope you liked this oneshot it's been around two months since I last wrote one, sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes.
Requests are open!
How about a Damian x reader where the reader is friends with Jon and even though she doesn’t like him, Damian gets jealous and it ends in him confessing. And maybe a kiss 🤔🤔🤔🤔
A/N: ...these were all supposed to be under like 400 words...I looked up six hours and 2,520 words later and here we are. anyway sry no kith bc I didn't feel like it 💅
WARNINGS: misunderstanding, language, argument, raised voices
MASTER LIST in BIO
   You're nicer to Jon than anybody else you work with, including him. You go out of your way to talk to Jon. You ask him if he wants anything from the vending machine. You laugh at his awful puns.
   He hates to say it irritates him, because Jon is a very kind person, and he deserves the same treatment. He deserves soft touch and secret jokes and a bright smile.
   He deserves you. Out of everyone in the room at one of these inane hero mixers, Jon deserves you most.
   Despite this, the thought leaves a sour taste in his mouth.
(Nevermind that you pick him immediately for missions, or that you already know what he wants from the vending machine and you memorized how he takes his coffee, or that you're the only one who laughs when he cracks the darkest joke anyone in the room can stomach. That probably means nothing.)
   He plants himself in the farthest corner of the room and sulks. He catches your eyes a few too many times, so he looks anywhere else. At anyone else.
   He decided a few weeks ago that avoiding you would be for the best. Hopefully, his feelings for you would wither without the sunlight of your presence. Hopefully, the bright petals of his heart would lose some vibrance and stop distracting his brain.
   It's a ridiculous hope, really. It's been months since he realized these feelings, and he hasn't yet seen a day he wanted you any less. At this rate, he's positive he could lock himself away on the other side of the planet for a few years and still be able to pick your voice out of a crowd.
   He'd tried to show you. In his own, roundabout way. He'd let you catch him staring. He'd seek you out when he could. He'd try to brush his hand against yours when you walked together. He wrote embarrassing poetry and hid them among your things. He did things he had seen in movies where the guy always gets the girl, because he didn't know what else to do.
   He did everything he could do, except tell you to your face. He tried, once. He could bring himself to do it. He'll never admit fear, but he didn't like to think about what would happen if you didn't feel the same way.
    "What are you brooding about now?"
   He jerks, scowling already. "Nothing," he snaps. "I'm not brooding."
   He very intentionally doesn't look at you, leaning against the wall beside him, but he does catch your reaction. He doesn't have to see you to hear the pause in your breathing, the hesitation before you reply. He's surprised you. He's not normally so curt with you for no reason, and you both know that. If he focuses, he can feel the quick once-over you give him, as if you could find that reason somewhere on his person.
   "Drag of a party, isn't it?" you try again. "I tried to sneak you one of those little breadsticks at the snack bar, but I think Impulse would've bitten me."
   (He had seen you, actually. Superboy at your side, chattering about something he couldn't hear, you'd skulked around, waiting for an opening, but Impulse was prepared to die defending those breadsticks. He must have skipped breakfast.)
   He doesn't reply. He keeps his arms crossed, continues staring past the clusters of chattering superheroes, out the Watchtower windows. If this had been weeks ago, he would have brushed it off and told you that he'd fight for them himself if he got hungry.
   You're a strong person. You've drawn lines in the sand for yourself. If you don't like the way someone treats you, you'll avoid them as much as you possibly can. You won't stand around and take it. You told him that much to his face the first time you met him: be nice to be, I'll be nice to you; pull that attitude with me again and I'll let the next guy shoot you in the face. It's how you treat everyone. He respected you for it, which is how you wedged yourself into his good graces in the first place.
   Therefore, if he goes out of his way to upset you now, you'll avoid him too.
   There's that bitter taste again.
   "Is everything okay?" You lean forward, trying to get within his line of sight, or to get a better look at his face. "Seems like you're in a worse mood than usual."
   "It's no business of yours," he grunts. "Go find someone else to pester."
   At the very edge of his vision, your expression ripples. His resolve does, too. You take a moment before you speak again. "Did I piss you off?"
   No. You never piss me off. I'd rather talk to you for a day than anyone else for a lifetime. He swallows.
   "Listen, if you had a bad morning or something–"
   "I thought I told you to find anyone else to bother."
   Bother is a low blow and he knows it. You had a boyfriend last summer who'd called you that just before you broke it off with him. You confided just how much it stung to Damian after he caught you sniffling on a rooftop in Gotham.
   He thinks it might have been too far, but isn't that the point? To jab at you just enough that you abandon all efforts at a friendship with him?
   Your grip on his arm catches him off guard, and you take the opportunity to drag him to one of the doors at either end of the room.
   You shove him out into the empty hall and make sure the steel slab latches behind you. "What is your problem?" you demand, planting yourself between him and the door.
   "I don't know what you're talking about–"
  "Don't play stupid, I know you aren't." Your tone is metallic in his ears, cold and hard. "You're being a dick. I wanna know why."
   He is being a dick. "I am not."
   You stare at him. He meets it head on, and realizes that it's the first time in the entire conversation that he's looked at you.
   You're good at hiding things from people. You've got a knack for screaming internally and looking bored externally. It doesn't matter what the situation is, you always look like you've got it all under control.
   He can see in that one look that you definitely aren't. Your breath is quicker than normal, your eyes are fractions wider, your posture is off-center. Your expression is wide open, waiting to receive whatever excuse he lobbies at you. You're distraught about this.
   A realization lodges in his throat. Either you're so upset by him that you can't mask it, or you trust him enough that you aren't holding up that mask at all.
   He looks away. Shakes his head. "I don't have time for this."
   "Oh, what? Have a busy day of standing alone in a corner and staring off into the distance?" You cross your arms. "If you didn't feel like being pestered, why did you bother showing up?"
   It wasn't his choice, actually. He knew you'd be here. His father tricked him anyway. Told him it was, League business, won't take more than an hour. You wanted to see the Watchtower again anyway, right?
   You don't give him time to respond. "If you have a problem with me, say that. Don't talk to me like I'm some idiot who can't take a hint. Especially in front of a bunch of coworkers."
   "Fine; I have a problem."
"Great, fantastic! He does have a problem." with you." You throw your hands up like you've just discovered the cure to dementia. "What's the problem, Wayne?"
   He glares at you. You don't look so out of sorts now, so he holds it. "I'm sure you'd like to know."
   You set your hands on your hips. "Well I'd like to know if I can fix it."
   So would I. "You want to fix it?" He starts heatedly, scraping together some barbed speech about how you're too focused on what others think of you, but you beat him.
   "Yes!" Your expression opens again, like clouds parting for sunlight—except, instead of brightness, he only sees the near-desperate eyes of a woman trying to salvage a friendship she didn't even know was crumbling. "You're one of my best friends, Damian. I don't want to lose you over something stupid if I don't have to."
   One of my best friends. One of. Friends. He hangs on your every word, loses sleep over the slightest touch, forgets where he is when he looks into your eyes for too long—and he doesn't even rank at the top of your list. He's not your best friend or your boyfriend. He's one of a few.
   On any other day, he'd take a deep breath and remind himself that you don't owe him anything. It's his problem that he did the stupid thing and fell– caught feelings, not yours.
   But today? It sets him off.
   "I suppose it bothers you so much. Don't you have anywhere better to be? I'm sure Jon would appreciate your company far more than I could," he snarls.
   Any hurt in your eyes fizzles into confusion. "What? What are you–"
   "You're right, I'm not stupid. I'm not blind, either." His voice is rising, but he's still got enough sense to keep this as private as he can, surrounded by super-powers. "I see how you act with him. I know you love him."
   You reel. You can't help laughing, breathy and incredulous. "Love–? What in the fresh hell are you talking about?"
   "Don't try to deny it."
   "Uh, I am going to deny it because it isn't true."
   He steps forward, as if he has a chance at intimidating you into admission. "You're kinder to him than anyone else. You treat him like he hung the sun. You go looking for him first at every opportunity." He's gesturing with his hands, too. "You make it so obvious, I don't know how I'd didn't see it before. Maybe I am blind after all."
   "You're so wrong," tell him. You're uneasy again. Twisting away from him by fractions, inches. Just enough to be doing it subconsciously, like a guilty man in an interrogation room. You still don't back away from him, don't let him snatch the reins of the situation. All of this only fuels him more.
   "You aren't stupid either. I know that. You know that." He stops for a breath, just one, and you see just how hard he's breathing
   He's never been this agitated by something like this before. It's true, when he's pent up and angry about something he can't simply remedy, he goes looking for fights to pick and outlets to unleash upon. But he's never found that in you. His indirect anger has almost always spared you, a few sharp words aside.
   "I'm not saying that I do feel for Jon," you interrupt, "but if I did; why would it bother you this much?"
   He's never cared before. You know he hasn't—you've gone out of your way to make try to make him jealous once or twice, talking about boys you have liked or flirting with someone right in front of him, and it's never gotten you more than a raised eyebrow or an eye roll.
   Something intuitive, grown from too long spent at his side, flutters to life in your mind. An idea, a theory, a hope.
   For the first time since you met him, he stammers. He trips over his words once, twice, then promptly snaps his mouth shut. On the outside, his face pinches angrily, lips pressed together grimly. Inside, he screams into the void and scrambles for a handful of words he can stitch into a decent excuse. All the vocabulary of five different languages, half the vocabulary of four more, and all he can come up with are incoherent expletives.
   And like the kind, patient person you are—for him, at least—you wait for him. You stand there after he's run his stupid mouth and acted like some bratty elementary schooler, and you wait for him to figure out an explanation instead of turning away from him. He told you he didn't want to talk to you and instead of telling him to get over it or writing him off completely, you tried to fix it.
   It sucks all the fight right out of him.
   Finally, he says your name in a way that makes your lungs seize. "You have to know," he says quietly. "You must."
   You think you might. "Know what?"
   Five steps away from you feels too far, so he makes it two. Not enough to crowd you, not enough to hide. "You really don't have feelings for Jon?"
   You chuckle. "Jon's…nice. He's really nice, and he's a close friend, but…he's just not the guy for me," you admit. "And for the record, I definitely don't think he hung the sun."
   It earns you a little smile. Small victories, you suppose.
   You're still watching him expectantly. He could lie his way out of this. He could tell you that he thought Jon was cheating on you, frame it as though he was trying to save you from heartbreak. He could tell you a lot of things, frame himself in a lot of ways.
   But he doesn't want to do this again. You didn't have feelings for Jon, but you just as easily could have. You'll have other men groveling at your feet eventually. You'll choose one of them, eventually. He has a chance, right now.
   He takes a breath to steady himself. It's full of your favorite fragrance, and he finds that instead of making him any more nervous, it becomes a little easier to breathe.
   He thinks of all those terribly unrealistic movies his sisters and Dick watch. He thinks of making out in the rain and dramatic confessions and passionate kisses. He tries to imagine himself there instead. He tries to put together something that you'll remember forever, even if you turn him down.
   But he's standing here, looking at you, waiting for him like you always do.
   "I'm in love with you," he says. "I'm–...I love you."
   It's strangely freeing to say out loud. He anticipated anxiety. In every scenario that ran through his mind, he'd been terrified. In the worst cases, there had been tears or gunfire or both. He'd say it, in whatever way he could conjure up, and it would feel like he was stepping off a cliff.
   Now that he's here, and he's said it, you're smiling at him like you're welcoming him home.
   "Oh, Damian," you whisper, and your eyes are glittering like a reflection of a sunrise, and your palms are so warm on his shoulders. "I love you, too."
Whispers in the Stacks
You're a wizard's apprentice and you've been sent to the library for your reading materials. The hot librarian has other ideas for you…
This fic was heavily inspired by this audio.
Late afternoon light filtered through the glass windows of the nearly empty library, the smell of musty old tomes filled your nose as you breathed in and sighed. The shelves were so stuffed with books that it looked like they could collapse at any second.
Researchers, readers and librarians alike were dwindling in the lateness of the day and you let out a slight groan of frustration as you looked again at the long list of required reading as laid out by your master.
Learning from a master wizard was not easy work but you were sure it would be worth it once your apprenticeship was complete. For now, you'll haul books, fetch bits and bobs and bring coffee as required on top of your studies. And right now you had a seemingly endless list of books in one hand and a small stack of books in your other arm.
“Mysteries of the Weave: Understanding Magical Energy,” you mumbled to yourself as you read the list and glanced back up at the heavy wooden shelves. “Gods, I'm never going to find all of these books.”
The sound of someone's shoes clacking on the wooden floor caught your attention as someone rounded the corner. You looked over to see a man holding a stack of books and replacing them on the shelves and your breath caught in your throat. His curly silver hair caught the light that filtered in through the windows and gave him a halo around his head. His pale skin seemed to glow and his red eyes were framed by a pair of gold wire-rim glasses.
“Can I help you find something?” The librarian asked, looking at you as he continued to stack books.
Your mouth went dry. He was gorgeous. “Um,” you said dumbly.
He let out a soft laugh, smile lines and crow's feet defining his face.
“Sorry, my name's Astarion and I work here.”
You smiled and introduced yourself. “Actually, maybe you can help me, Astarion.”
His name on your tongue felt tingly and you felt yourself leaning closer to him.
“What are you looking for, then?” Astarion asked.
You stepped next to him and showed him the list of books. He leaned over your shoulder, his breath tickling your neck and looked at the title of the book you pointed at.
“Mysteries of the Weave: Understanding Magical Energy,” Astarion murmured, his head snapping up to look at the shelves in front of you. “Ah yes, we keep copies of this book with the other tomes on the Weave towards the back of the library. Come, I'll show you.”
Astarion beckoned you to follow and you did, admiring his physique as you tried not to stare too hard. You'd visited this library a few times but had never been to this section. You didn't even know it existed and while you were still a novice student, you could feel the slight crackle of magical energy from some of the books back here.
“Wow,” you breathed. “I didn't even know these were here.”
Astarion gave you a smile and rounded a corner past a shelf before he disappeared completely. Your eyes widened and you jogged to follow him, surprised to see that he was leaning against a panelled wall, completely obscured by the overflowing shelves.
“How interesting,” you chuckled, looking back towards the rest of the library. “A little place to hide.”
Astarion nodded. “I often come back here. I like to watch people. I like to know what they read, what they're saying…” Astarion trailed off and slowly walked towards you and catching a lock of your hair between his fingers and twirling it. “What makes them… tick.”
You gulped at the sudden proximity between you and Astarion looked down at you past the frames of his glasses. “What makes you tick, little scholar?” He breathed.
“I-I…” You stammered.
“Dusty old books?” He whispered, backing you against the wall and pressing a finger against the stack of books in your arms. “In my experience, scholars make for the most interesting subjects to study.”
“Is that so?” You breathed, your face and neck heating up.
“Oh yes,” Astarion purred. “What's the phrase? Wise in the library, wild between the sheets ?”
Your jaw dropped and you pulled the books up to cover her chest and face. Astarion let out a dark chuckle and took the books from you, placing them on the shelf beside you before placing his arms either side of you.
“I'm not making you uncomfortable am I? If I am,” he said, dropping one of his arms and pulling away.
“No!” You almost yelled, grabbing the collar of his shirt.
Astarion let out a chuckle and caged you in again, dropping his head to your neck and inhaling. “Mmm, that's what I like to hear,” he said huskily.
The way his voice rumbled sent jolts of warmth straight to your core and you pressed your thighs together.
“I have another reason why I like to come back here,” he whispered as he pulled away. “Can I show you?”
You nodded and he extended his hand to you, leading you to the shelves in front of you. “Look past the shelves. What do you see?”
You glanced up at him and then past the shelves again. “The… library…?” You guessed.
“Exactly,” Astarion purred, slotting himself behind you, his toned chest pressing against your back. “And they can't see us .”
Astarion punctuated his sentence by bringing his hand up to your hip and sliding it across your front, his nails catching on the waistband of your pants.
“Oh?” You sighed, your head falling back to land on his shoulder.
Gods, were you really doing this? Somewhere so public with a stranger. Well, you'd seen him here and there on your previous visits so you did know he worked here. But…
“Yes,” he sighed.
Astarion’s cool hand slipped past your waistband and underwear, his fingers spreading your lips apart and his middle finger finding your clit with relative ease.
You let out a soft gasp and he let out a muted tsk tsk . “If we're going to do this, little scholar, you need to be silent as the grave. Am I clear?” He whispered.
You craned your neck and looked up at him before nodding.
“Good girl.”
His finger rubbed gentle circles on your clit and your hand flew up to your mouth to silence the moan that nearly gave your debauchery away.
“There's something depraved about doing this in a public place, isn't there? We're well-hidden here,” Astarion whispered as one of his fingers slipped inside of you, causing a soft mewl from the back of your throat. “But in reality, any curious soul could just round the corner at the wrong moment and we'd be discovered.”
Your body tensed at the thought. What if you did get caught? What if your master found out about what you were really doing when you were supposed to be gathering your study materials? More importantly, did you even really care?
“But don't be afraid,” Astarion whispered, his finger pumping in and out of you. “As long as you be a good girl and keep quiet, no one will find us.”
You began to squirm and Astarion's other arm came around your breasts to hold you in place, flush against his chest.
“Gods,” you whispered, trying to keep your voice low and level.
Astarion kissed the shell of your ear and continued down until he reached your neck where he lathed the skin with a toothy, open-mouthed kiss. Tingles erupted across your whole body at the feeling and you leaned your neck to the side, desperate for more attention.
You heard him breathe deeply beside you and felt his abnormally sharp canines drag across your skin before he licked and kissed you. He slipped another finger inside you and you felt his pumping turn into a come hither motion within you, his fingers pressing against your g-spot as his thumb continued gently against your clit.
“Your cunt takes my fingers so well , my little scholar,” he breathed into your ear. “It makes one wonder what else it could take.”
You keened silently and bucked your hips, desperate for as much friction as you could get from him. You felt like a bitch in heat, desperately rutting against some stranger in a public library obscured by a maze of bookshelves. But you couldn't lie to yourself, doing this in public was super hot.
Astarion's grip around you tightened and he pulled your body flush against his, his now apparent erection pressed against your ass. “Look, look over there,” he whispered, pointing his finger in a space between the books and shelf above.
You looked at where he was pointing and you spotted your master looking through the shelves with purpose. Was he looking for you?! Gods, if he caught you like this, your tutelage with him would be over in an instant. Maybe he was here for books, you reasoned with yourself. Your heart beat faster and you let out a quiet gasp.
“That's–” You whispered, turning your face into Astarion's neck. “My master– my tutor.”
You felt Astarion’s throat rumble. “My, my, little scholar. You're a student of Gale Dekarios of Waterdeep? How very interesting,” he said with a punctuated thrust or his fingers inside you.
His fingers sped up and you felt your body flush with warmth and your eyes squeezed shut. “I'm…” You whispered.
“You're…?” Astarion teased, a soft lilt in his voice. “Don't tell me the sight of your master is what has you all hot and bothered. Not when your cunt was made to take me.”
You didn't trust yourself to respond. If you opened your mouth you were going to moan and it was going to be loud. But whether he was caught up in the moment with you or he just didn't care, Astarion kissed your neck and pressed against your clit in a way that sent waves of pleasure through your whole body. Your walls clenched around his fingers and you let out a deep moan and you felt his hand slap over your mouth harshly.
“You little minx,” Astarion whispered against your ear, his breathing tickling the skin there. “What did I tell you?”
Astarion wasn't looking for a response. He kept his hand clamped over your mouth, his fingers digging into your cheeks. You opened your eyes slightly, peering past the shelves whilst still pressed flush against Astarion's arousal. You saw Gale looking around curiously, looking for the source of that noise he just heard to no avail and turning back to the book in his hand. You wondered if he knew it was you. You did speak everyday after all, and while he'd never made you moan , you did let out several groans of frustration a day.
No. No, that was preposterous.
The sensation of Astarion's fingers slipping from within you caused a low groan in the back of your throat. You turned to look up at him and he finally freed your mouth from his grip. It seemed he didn't trust you though, because he brought a slick soaked finger up to his lips in a silencing motion.
“Shhh…” Astarion let out lowly, his eyes boring into yours past his fogged up glasses.
He stuck his tongue out slightly and he slid his fingers into his mouth, licking and sucking off every bit of your juices before licking his lips. You gulped as your mouth went dry, your core beginning to burn with need once again. Astarion leaned down to kiss you and your lips parted easily, letting him slip his tongue inside your mouth and stroke against yours.
You let out a groan and Astarion pulled away instantly, his hand snapping up to wrap around your neck. He glared down at you with half-lidded eyes.
“I gave you one simple rule to follow and you couldn't even do that?” He hissed, his mouth coming down next to your ear. “Naughty girl.”
Astarion's breath on your skin caused you to shudder and you heard his lips move into a smile beside your ear. “Do you want to know what I do to naughty girls, little scholar?”
The pet name and the implication in his tone made your cunt throb and you turned to look at him and shake your head.
“Well, you're about to find out,” he said, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips. “Make yourself decent and follow me.”
You readjusted your pants, combed your fingers through your hair and fanned your face for a moment before you rounded the corner away from the bookshelves you'd just had your little romp behind to see Astarion walk past your master with a salacious smile on his lips as he turned back to look at you.
You felt your face heat and you lowered your head as you slinked through the aisles of books, ensuring you gave your tutor a wide berth so as not to be spotted. You look around to see Astarion enter a room beyond the front desk of the library before he poked his head back out and nodded for you to follow. You nervously took another look around but no one was paying attention to you, so you cautiously stepped behind the desk and slipped into the room where Astarion was waiting. He shut the door behind you and locked it before turning to face you once again.
“Hello again, little scholar,” Astarion purred, caging you against the door. He twirled a lock of your hair in his finger as he looked down at you past his glasses. “I’m so very disappointed in you.”
Your heart dropped and Astarion tutted as he let go of your hair and pulled away, taking a seat on a leather sofa against the wall and leaning back, his legs spread.
He made a very pretty picture.
Astarion looked at you and curled his index finger, motioning you to him. You felt self-conscious but you couldn't bring yourself not to obey his every order. His eyes mesmerised you and your body burned for him. You walked over and stood in front of him, wondering what he wanted from you.
You didn't have to wonder long because he tapped his hand on his thigh and you blushed, looking down at his toned thighs. But you would gladly sit in his lap and you stepped either side of his leg to sit.
“Ah-ah,” Astarion hummed, his eyes boring into you. He gave you a smirk before he spoke. “You’re a naughty girl, and naughty girls must receive their punishment.”
“Punishment?” You asked, biting your lip in nervousness.
“How else will you learn your lesson?” Astarion asked, his fingers coming up to skim your thigh over the fabric of your pants. “Or course, if you'd rather leave…”
Astarion eyes left yours and he indicated to the door before looking back at you. There was no way in the hells you were leaving, and the way he sat there with his legs spread and hand on your thigh as he looked up at you past his glasses had you wanting to drop to your knees and please him however he wanted.
You took a deep breath and gave him a smile before lowering yourself and bending over his thighs. You felt his instant erection against your side and his hand come up and rub your ass gently, as if admiring it. Not like you could see much of what he was doing but you could hear and feel everything.
“A good start, pet,” he purred.
You flushed at the praise and felt tingles across your skin when his fingers found the waistband of your pants and pulled them down with your underwear in one motion. The warm air of the library office danced on your skin and you started to squirm in anticipation. Was he going to please you again? This certainly didn't feel like a punishment.
“You know,” Astarion began, his hand rubbing on the swell of your ass absentmindedly. “I've been working here a very long time. I've read more books in this library than I'd care to admit.”
His fingers skimmed the crevasse between your cheeks and you let out a soft moan at the sensation.
“I have an intimate knowledge of these books and their subject matter of course,” he continued, his fingers leaving your skin for a moment as he reached somewhere next to him that you couldn't see. “But I also know these sizes, the binding, the material. All of these mundane little things.”
You wanted to ask where he was going with his little monologue. But you didn't have to wait long before the clap of a cool, hardback leather book met your ass. You cried out in pain, but mostly from surprise.
“So that also means I know which book is perfect for carrying out your punishment,” Astarion said, his voice gravelly and husky. “Do tell me if you want me to stop.”
Before your brain could catch up with your mouth you blurted out for him to keep going.
“That's a good girl,” Astarion said, whacking your ass again, but this time slightly lower as it met the lips of your pussy. “I can see why that Waterdhavian wizard keeps you around. You're a good student. A good little scholar for your master, aren't you?”
“Yes,” you whispered. You felt the need to prove to Astarion that you were a good student. A good girl just like he wanted. You spread your thighs wider, baring yourself to him completely with all of your shame and pride out of the window.
Astarion adjusted his hips and you could feel his hips rutting slightly against your side, his confined cock begging for attention.
“May I pleasure you?” You asked, craning to look up at Astarion.
You were surprised to see his glasses slightly fogged, his cheeks red and his hair hanging over his eyes. He gave you a smile before pulling back and cracking you with the book again.
“You sweet, generous thing,” he murmured. “Not today, but perhaps next time if you prove to me that you deserve it.”
Your heart skipped at the thought of another rendezvous with the librarian and you nodded, desperate to please him.
“I can't believe you let out such a filthy moan with your master right there ,” Astarion said, spanking your ass again, aiming for the swell of your cheek. You cried out at the sting and his other hand came down to caress the cheek he'd just spanked. “Does it hurt darling? That's what naughty girls who can't hold in their moans get.”
Your core throbbed as his fingers gently caressed your ass and you were desperate for friction. But you didn't dare test him by trying to pleasure yourself so you gritted your teeth and tried not to focus on your neglected cunt.
“I think five more spanks to make sure the message has really sunk in. I don't think you've quite learned your lesson yet, have you?”
You shook your head in agreement.
“Now, I'm going to spank you and you're going to count with me, okay?” Astarion said.
You nodded your head and held your breath, waiting for the next smack from the book in his hand.
The leather met your ass harder than any of the other spanks with a loud crack . Your eyes teared up from the pain but you held it together.
“One,” you groaned, fidgeting and rubbing your ankles together.
“Have you learned your lesson?” Astarion asked.
“Yes! I'm sorry.”
“Wrong!” Astarion growled, spanking your ass again.
You let out a cry at the pain as your cunt throbbed in desperate need. You continued to wriggle in Astarion's grasp and his hand came around your neck to pull you up to face him. His cheeks were still flushed and his eyes were dilated as he stared at you.
“What number was that, pet?”
“Two,” you gulped, your throat bobbing in his grip.
“Good,” Astarion said, lowering you back down.
A smack on your other cheek. “Three.”
“I think you're learning your lesson, little scholar.”
Astarion pulled back and smacked your ass harder.
“Four,” you squealed.
Astarion put the book down for a moment as his hand rested on your lower back. Hadn't he said five spanks? He shuffled your legs forward and raised your ass higher.
“Arch your back and spread your legs for me, pet,” Astarion said softly.
You did as he asked, spreading your legs and arching your back, feeling very exposed and all at once very thankful he'd locked the door before baring your ass and pussy to him like this.
“Last one. Are you ready?”
You nodded, instinctively sticking your ass out more and wiggling it slightly. Astarion picked up the book, pulled back and landed a hard, loud smack right above your thighs. The leather met your cunt and you let out a moan before your final count.
“F-five,” you moaned.
Astarion tossed the book aside and his hand caressed your ass. “Such a good girl, such a good little thing,” he praised as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to each cheek.
“I think you've learned your lesson now like the good little scholar you are,” he continued, his fingers sliding between your thighs and humming in satisfaction at the arousal he found there.
You sat up and stretched your sore limbs, watching as he licked his fingers clean once again. You could watch his tongue lick his long fingers for hours if given the opportunity.
“Now, I hope you'll be back soon. We have many books here that I'm sure will help with your studies,” Astarion purred, his index finger coming to rest under your chin and pulling you towards him for a kiss. “And if not, I also provide one-on-one research services to very select clientele.”
“Well then, I'm sure I'll be back soon,” you said, already trying to figure out when you'd need to come back for more books.
You hoped these visits to the library weren't going to be a detriment to your studies.
You walked up to the front door and turned the handle opening up the door. You two never really bothered to lock the door since you were behind the gates. You only really locked it at night. You placed your car keys off to the side, away from Elvis’ cause lord knows he doesn’t know which key belongs to which car. You closed the door behind you and started to take off your coat.
“Mama!” Your son’s voice filled your ears.
“Hi my sweet son,” You smiled and hung the coat up. You walked over to him and picked him up from the floor, Elvis was just sitting a few feet away from you.
You had just come back from your doctor’s appointment to check on the baby. Elvis wanted to come with, but someone had to watch Theodore. You also couldn’t bring him because he doesn’t do the best in new places.
“How’d it go?” Elvis asked as he got up and made his way over to you.
“It went well, he just told me to be careful.” You responded with a smile as you looked up at him.
“So nothing bad?” He questioned as he placed his arm around you. You let out a hum and shook your head.
“No, he just thinks it might be stress because of the holidays.” You responded as you kissed your son's head, holding him close to your chest.
“Okay,” Elvis nodded and kissed the side of your head, offering to take your purse. Which you happily gave him. You sat down on the couch and just held your son close. You looked down at your belly and frowned lightly.
For how far along you were, you were growing big. With Theo, you carried him small, but it looks like this baby wants more room. You knew that with each pregnancy you were bound to grow weight, it’s natural. Not only because of the baby but also because of how our body works. You were good at keeping control of it.
“What are we doing for Christmas?” You asked as you looked over towards Elvis who was picking up the toys off the ground.
“I think we were going to host again?” Elvis looked at you with a questioning expression.
“We can, we would just have to go to the store. We just don't have ham or anything.” You explained to him as you rubbed Theo’s back gently.
“I can send someone out. The stores are probably crazy right now.” You nodded lightly at his response. Your heart felt… sad. It felt empty almost.
“Can you put him down for his nap?” You asked as you looked at the sleepy boy on your chest.
“Yeah of course,” Elvis said as he took Theodore out of your arms. You mumbled a thank you and watched as he walked away. Elvis knew something was wrong the moment you walked inside. He just didn’t know how much truth you told him.
You lay down on the couch and pulled the blanket down onto your body. You cuddled into the blanket and reached for the book that was on the coffee table. It was one of your sons, but it was a story either way. It was the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Did it give your son a light scare at first? Yes, but once he learned that the Grinch doesn’t come unless you are extra bad, he was okay.
You actually had a lot of Dr. Suess books. In fact, you got Theodore the two that came out this year for his present. How you opted to do Christmas was that Santa gave the essentials, the ‘boring’ stuff some may call. He may give a toy here and there, but the fun stuff comes from the parents. You didn’t want him to see you guys as boring. To some kids, books may be a boring gift, but he loves to look at the pictures. He was still too young to read, but he liked to point at everything and ask, wha?
You heard Elvis as he began to walk down the stairs. His shoes hit rough against the carpeted stairs. Which bothered you to no extent. You wanted to keep a clean house. He would then argue that it was the maid’s job to vacuum and clean the floors. Some nonsense really.
“He’s all put down and- you’re reading one of his books?” Elvis questioned as he placed the white baby monitor down on the coffee table.
“It was the only thing nearby,” you replied simply. However, just on the opposite end near the lamp sat a copy of the holy bible. Maybe you were just in your feels and didn’t want a hard book to read. Nonetheless, something was wrong.
“All right, tell me what happened,” Elvis spoke as he appeared back into the living room. You tore your eyes away from the book and looked over at him.
“I told you what happened.” You said, returning your gaze back to the book. Not really wanting to have this conversation.
“And I know that there is more than what you told me.” Elvis came to the couch. He moved your legs out of the way and quickly sat down, resting your legs on his lap. You let out a sigh and looked over at him. You closed the book and laid it down in your lap.
“He said if I’m not careful I can lose the baby,” you spoke softly. You didn’t even wanna say those words out loud. It would just make it feel more real, and you felt your eyes start to water up.
“Hey hey,” Elvis’ tone softened. “What? Why would he say that?”
“You know how I went because of a pain? That I felt… really sick.” You brought up as you wiped away your slight tears before things got too crazy.
“Yeah,” he nodded.
“He says it isn’t normal to be really sick during pregnancy. Sure morning sickness is normal but… with the sickness and overworking myself. He basically bedridden me.” You explained to him, humming to the feeling of Elvis rubbing his hand up and down your leg.
“We’ll get through this together okay?” He tried to reassure you, but you both knew deep down the Colonel would pull him away to film some random movie. The two of you repositioned yourselves and your back laid against his chest. His hand rested on your small bump and rubbed slight circles against it.
You played the rest of the day safe. Once your son woke up from his nap you played some games with him before one of the maids started dinner. You felt bad keeping them from their family, but you sent most of them home already. Only two decided to stay and you were thankful.
Everyone was tucked away in bed before you knew it. Of course not until after you left out milk and cookies for Santa, which Elvis was gonna have to eat and drink later. Along with putting the carrots back in the fridge. He also had you write Santa a little note. Asking for some last-minute items, even though you told him it was too late. Theo argued his case and won.
Christmas Day came sooner than you expected. Well, three in the morning kind of soon. You sat on the floor near the toilet. Everything you had eaten at dinner down the drain of the toilet. It wasn’t just morning sickness anymore. This baby was just… taking everything out of you. So, you sat there until you were able to push yourself up.
Elvis was still sound asleep. He had these moments where he would be either a heavy sleeper or a really light sleeper. Today was one of those heavy nights. You rinsed your mouth out with some water and popped a mint before heading back to bed. You didn’t expect him to wake up every single time. Someone needed rest to watch after Theodore, and Elvis was just more capable of that.
Despite not being able to do much, you knew damn well that you were going to dress up for the holidays. So, as you walked down the grand white staircase, you heard laughter and voices coming from the living room. You steadied yourself on the railing and put on your bravest smile.
Truth be told, you woke up and just didn’t want to move. And this is after the hour you had awake between three and four. Maybe you shouldn’t have ever moved since your doctor bedridden you. To say the least, you were grateful for your maids was an understatement. They would be the ones cooking and cleaning until this baby comes. Without them, you didn’t know how your baby would survive, not off of Elvis’ cooking that’s for damn sure.
You reached the bottom of the stairs and heard your baby boy’s voice announcing your arrival. “Mama!” He squealed in happiness. He got up on his feet and made his way over to you.
“Hi my sweet boy,” you said and reached down picking him up. You pressed multiple kisses on his cheek and made your way into the living room. “Look how beautiful you look, Y/n,” your mother complimented you.
“Thank you, mama,” you said with a smile. Though, you doubted you even looked that beautiful. No amount of makeup or pretty dresses will hide the fact that you weren’t feeling well.
Elvis got up from his place on the couch and offered you his seat, which you gladly accepted. “So honey, is there a reason you’re not cooking today?” Your mother questioned.
“Oh, I’m just not feeling that well today, so Janice is holding down the kitchen,” you said with a small smile.
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that dear,” your mother responded. You replied with a smile node and reached over for Elvis’s hand.
“I believe we were gonna open up presents before dinner, right darlin’?” Elvis looked over at you, seeing if that was still the schedule.
“Yes,” you nodded. “With everything planned out after dinner, Theo should fall asleep at his normal time.” You further explained looking over at your family.
“What about your father, Elvis? Isn’t he joining us?” Your mother asked with her sweet-toned southern accent.
“Unfortunately not, that b-“ Elvis quickly coughed to cover up what he almost accidentally said. “That wife of his has him over at their place celebrating. I think she’s still mad about Thanksgiving.”
“Ah, I’m sorry to hear that son,” your father said. Elvis smiled softly at him as a way to express gratitude.
“Shall we exchange gifts then? I know Theo must be dying to rip them open,” she let out a chuckle. Everyone joined in with her. You tickled Theo’s stomach and watched as he erupted in a fit of giggles.
“Let’s have him pick?” Elvis suggested, though it sounded like he was asking for permission. He wanted to be careful with what he said, he didn’t want to cause you any stress.
“Of course,” you responded and placed Theo down on the floor. At first, Theo just sat down, but with some encouragement from his family. He made his way over to the tree.
You had to arrange some things around, but you placed the tree where the grand white piano is. You, more like you had Elvis, move the piano back so that you could fit the tree. You always thought it looked nicest there.
Theo looked around trying to figure out what to grab first. Should he go for something big or something small? You just thought he was lost and confused about what to do. He was only two after all. Elvis kneeled down and placed his hand on your son’s back.
“How about we check the stockings? See if Santa filled them with some candy and toys,” your fiancé encouraged the young boy. Theo nodded excitedly at the sound of Santa, toys, and candy.
You watched your boys make their way over to the fireplace and Elvis pulled down the stocking. He wanted it to Theo and you watched as he started to pull things out one by one. You hummed softly and leaned back, and nuzzled into the blanket that was thrown around you.
Gifts took… an awfully long time. It was just, that every time Theo opened something he had to play with it right away. It would take anywhere from a minute, to five to get him to open up another present. Not to mention the tears he would shed because he couldn’t play with his toy. It was… a very emotional roller coaster.
“I actually have one more gift to give,” your father spoke up as he stood up. “I think you’ll be very happy with it.” He looked at you as he said it. You looked at him confused and pulled yourself away from Elvis’ shoulder.
“I found it the other day when I was cleaning out the attic,” your father explained as he pulled up a box that was hidden from your eyesight.
“What is it?” You questioned as he placed the box in your hands.
“Open it and you’ll see.” You rolled your eyes playfully at him and opened the box. You froze when you saw the old ragged, yet somehow in perfect condition, stuffed bunny staring up at you.
You lifted the bunny carefully and continued to stare at it. “Is this Miffy?” You asked as you looked over at your father.
“It is, I thought… maybe you could pass her down to your baby once they are born.” You smiled softly at his answer and nodded.
You got Miffy when you were a young girl. You would wear your pretty dresses and run around the yard. She slept by your side every night. Then she became a decoration on your dresser, and then soon she was placed in the attic. You never thought you would see her again, let alone in such great condition.
“I cleaned and fixed her up,” your mother spoke to you.
“Thank you, this… this means a lot to me.” You started to tear up. You and your goddamn pregnancy emotions. You were quick to wipe your eyes and soon picked up your boy from the ground.
The fear of losing your baby just kept coming back to you. You didn’t mean to think about it, but… seeing Miffy, and your dad suggesting giving her to your baby once they’re born. It brought that fear that if you are not careful enough, they’ll die.
You held Theodore close and excused yourself from your family. You pulled on your coat and boots and walked outside. “Mama, oday?” Theodore looked at you worried as he snuggled closer under your coat.
“Yes, mama is okay.” You replied softly and kissed the top of his head.
Don’t stress over this.
The more stress, the more likely you’ll have a miscarriage.
Happy thoughts, Y/n, happy thoughts.
“Hey baby, everything okay?” You heard your mother’s voice. You turned your head and spotted her behind her fluffy coat.
“Yeah, just got a bit emotional, is all,” you gave her a sad smile.
“May I offer some advice?” She asked gently. You nodded slowly and looked at her, your hand rubbing your son’s back.
“You’re gonna face rough pregnancies every so often. At the end of the day, when you are holding your baby close to your chest… that is when it all matters. It may seem rough, and like your life is over, but at the end of the tunnel is God’s greatest gift. A newborn baby.” She spoke as she looked at you, never for a second leaving your eyes.
“Do you think he sees us as sinners?” You asked with a sad expression. You may have not been heavily influenced by God, but he played a role in your life. Just as he did with your fiancé.
“Just because you two aren’t married? Perhaps, but he knows that you two are down that road of getting married. He knows Elvis has a crazy schedule. I believe he made an exception just for you two.”
“How do you always know what to say?” You questioned.
“I’m your mother, I’m supposed to.” She smiled and pulled you into a hug, being careful of the toddler against your chest. You leaned into her hug, not being able to properly hug back.
“Thank you.”
The three of you went back inside and waited for dinner to happen. The maids made a beautiful and tasteful dinner. The main course being the Ham. You didn’t understand the reasoning behind holiday meats. Thanksgiving was always served with Turkey, maybe a ham, but Christmas was served with ham.
Your plate was full to the brim, hopefully, you’ll be able to keep it all down. You hardly had much to eat during the day. A bowl of oatmeal and fresh-cut fruit in the morning, and then dinner now. After everyone finished up their plate, everyone slowly but surely left. Your parents, your brother… Vernon made sure to stop by to drop off presents and say hi.
Other than that, the maids cleaned up, you got Theo in the bath. Then you got him all ready to go to bed, with the help of Elvis. You then got in the bath yourself, figuring that would be the best way to destress. Before you knew it, you were in your pajamas and getting in bed.
You hummed softly as you pulled back the bed covers. You weren’t one to lie and say that the silk covers kept you warm during these cold months. Nonetheless, it made Elvis happy, and if Elvis was happy; you were happy. But- there was no way in hell you were gonna suffer while pregnant during the winter.
“Elvis,” you called out to him as you got into bed, slipping your legs under the covers.
“Yeah, darlin’?~~” You hum at his voice. You don’t know how, but he just sounded more southern at night. Maybe it was because he was getting sleepy. His voice was getting more raspy, the whole nine yards.
“We’re switching covers tomorrow.” You stated, not bothering to ask. You wanted your fleece sheets, not freezing silk.
“Hold on now-“ he came in from the bathroom, a toothbrush loosely hanging from his mouth. “What’s wrong with these?”
“Cold,” you answered simply, “and the baby doesn’t want to be cold. Mama doesn’t want to be cold.” You gave him that look. It was that very same look that said a million unspoken words.
Elvis had a lot of say what got done in his house. Despite it being considered as both of yours. At the end of the day, it was Elvis’ name on the deed. He was the one to purchase it. He was the one who got to design and plan out the rooms. Then of course your son got a say in what went on in his bedroom. Despite the mess, he would make every single day. All you were asking was for a simple change of the sheets.
“Fine fine,” he muttered under his breath as he returned to the bathroom. You choose to ignore it just this once.
Does the bedroom bother you? Yes, it absolutely does. Compared to the rest of the house, it was dark and moody. It almost screamed vampire. You were more than happy with the blackout curtains, but you wanted it to look more lively. To match the rest of the house. Then again, you think it would kill Elvis if you put any sense of color in his bedroom.
You reached over to your side table and picked up the book you were reading earlier. Joy in the Morning by Betty Smith. While Elvis was more into books that related closely to the lord, you were more of a romance fan. You liked your little romance novels because deep down you wanted your romance to be like them.
That isn’t to say that the relationship you have sucks. You have your rough moments just like every other couple. In these stories though… it feels as if nothing ever goes wrong for them. That is what you wanted. A perfect life, a perfect relationship, a perfect… everything. Yet every night before you two signed off, you would read together a verse in the bible. One chosen at random.
You would open the book, and go through the pages, stop at one random, run your finger along the page, and stop it at random. You two liked to take it as… a reading. Thought most of the time the verses don’t lead you on a path of anything. They are more or less… well, they are verses. Not fortune tellings, but you two still liked to take them as such.
The bathroom soon became dark and Elvis emerged from the doorframe. He made his way over to the bed and slid in next to you. Well, more like got in… then scooted over to you. He pressed a kiss to your head and pulled you into his warm embrace. You let out a light giggle and made sure to quickly save your space in the book.
“You know, I haven’t given you your gift yet.” He spoke softly. You hummed softly and turned your head upwards to look at him.
“You’re giving me a baby, Elvis.” You spoke gently as you brought your hand up to his jaw.
“I can give you one of those any time. This is a special gift.”
“And what does it have that the other special gifts don’t?” You raised your eyebrow.
“I-,” Elvis didn’t know how to respond. He generally just needed the excuse of Christmas to give you more gifts. “God told me to.”
“Did he now? And what did he tell you to get me?” You played along with his statement.
“Well, that’s for you to find out,” he pulled out a neatly wrapped long box. You could already guess that it was some type of jewelry because of the box. Not a ring or earrings, could be a bracelet, necklace, or even a watch. The possibilities were endless.
You took it out of his hands and ran your palm against it. “Let’s see if God chose correctly then.” You pulled the wrapped paper off and revealed a black velvet box. The words of a jewelry company posted on top. You opened it and saw a beautiful gold necklace with an oval, and an E engraved on it.
You opened the necklace and smiled at the pictures already in them. A picture of you and Elvis, a picture of Theodore, and two more spaces to be filled. You looked over at Elvis and started to tear up. “Elvis,” you whispered.
“Once our baby gets born we can add their picture… then we can do a family picture as well.”
“It’s perfect, I love it.” You threw your arms around him and pressed multiple kisses on his face. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” he rubbed your back gently. “Merry Christmas, my darlin’,” He pressed a kiss to your forehead and held his hand on your bump.
It may have started off as a rough day, but the ending was most worth it. Much like other things. The beginning may suck, but if you truck through to the end you will be rewarded.
“I love you,” you whispered against his lips as you kissed him.
“I love you, and I love our baby.”
“I love them too,” you smiled alongside with him. Just think, next year you’ll have two kids for Christmas. It may be chaotic, but you were ready for this chapter.
Author's note: I started writing this after the first part went up. But it took me all the day till the 19th to finish. I am not completely a hundred percent happy with this, but I think I want to turn this into a holiday fic. I don't think there will be one for New Years. I can see an Easter one happening, a 4th of July one, Halloween, loop back around I might do Veteran's day instead of Thanksgiving for next year. Then ending it again with Christmas. Of course the newborn being there.
In the original fic, the reader actually suffered a miscarriage, and I wasn't completely sure if I wanted to copy that over. So, I placed the idea in this fic, it does not mean it will happen, but it leaves the doors open for that possibility, though I kind of just said what would happen.
Next fic will be posted on Christmas Day. I hope to have it done much quicker then I did this fic. I hope everyone is having a wonderful holidays!
“Hearts on Hold” - a draft
a sequel to Car's Outside after part 4
𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
*✧・゚: *✧・゚*.·:·.✧ ✦✧.·:·.*✧・゚: *✧・゚:
Pairing: Lewis Hamilton x Driver!Reader
Word Count: 1,692
A/N: This might be the only part for now. Not sure if I would continue it but I will be doing drabbles about it
The day you left was tough. It was a step towards your personal growth and independence. Yet, deep down, you wanted to be by his side throughout the entire winter break. Your mind was filled with conflicting thoughts.
Why did we leave?
Because we need to rely on ourselves and not depend on others too much.
So, does that mean our emotions stem from past issues?
No, not necessarily... maybe. I'm not really sure but that is why we're doing this.
You constantly debate whether you made the right decision or not. However, all doubts disappear when he sends you a text message. Each day, his words bring comfort and kindness. You don't respond much because thoughts of him make your mind race.
You don't intentionally ignore him, but there's a certain pleasure in having alone time, where you can fully immerse yourself in the moment. You've grown typical of being alone, and it feels like home. Some may see it as a lonely existence, but they can't grasp the experience of being solely on yourself.
You found yourself in the Czech Republic, a land rich in history and culture. It's a place that fosters personal growth and development. With its stunning architecture, like the iconic Prague Castle, and its vibrant arts scene. You felt like a princess, wandering through the city in search of love or simply a new adventure.
As you sat at a charming café, savoring your evening coffee and engrossed in a book, it provided a familiar and comforting feeling.
Suddenly, your phone buzzed, breaking the tranquil atmosphere. You glanced down to see one of many of Lewis' daily text messages.
A day ago, 5:06 PM:
Lew
Good morning! You better manage to squeeze in some workouts today, haha. They already miss you - my niece and nephew. I miss you too, but you already knew that...
Yesterday, 5:44 PM:
Lew
Hey, just checking in to see if you're doing alright. Text me when you can. I miss you. I'll see you soon.
Today, 5:04 PM:
Lew
Still missing you, and Roscoe was looking for you.
Today, 5:10 PM:
Lew
Coachella was absolutely wild! Wish you were here. They kept asking if you were coming. I told them you were off doing something way more exciting. Maybe you'll join me next year, haha.
He persisted in texting you, as he could see that you had received and read his messages. Gosh, he deserves someone better, you thought, prompting you to finally respond.
You
Hey Lewis, sorry for not replying earlier. I'm actually doing really well. Sometimes, I do get a little lost, but that's what makes the adventure exciting, right? I won't tell my current location, haha. I hope I don't run into you here, following me around. I'll see you when I return to Monaco.
You reread the messages you sent, caught up in overthinking the entire situation. Just as you finish, he responds.
Lew
I'll see you back at home.
That familiar, tingling, warm feeling rushes back. You suddenly blush, feeling slightly embarrassed by your public display of emotions.
"Ughhh," you mutter to yourself.
Feeling compelled, you text him once again.
You
I miss you too
You quickly type and send it before locking your phone and slamming it onto the table. Frustrated with yourself, you feel like a silly schoolgirl texting her crush.
Lost in your embarrassment, you're suddenly interrupted as someone taps your shoulder. Your heart starts pounding, echoing in your ears.
You slowly turn around and find yourself face-to-face with none other than Mick Schumacher.
"Mick! W-what brings you here?" you stammer, taken aback by his sudden appearance. You were seated outside a café, with only a wooden fence separating you from the bustling street. Somehow, he still noticed you sitting there while riding his bike.
"Oh, umm... I was giving my friends a tour around Europe, and then I saw you sitting here... I should ask what you're up to," he explains a hint of curiosity in his voice.
You giggle, finding him endearingly cute. You and Mick are friends, or at least colleagues working for the same team. You often have chats and occasionally hang out after training, but you wouldn't say you're incredibly close.
"Yeah, well, it's a long story. In short, I'm on a little adventure for myself, taking a break from everything and just trying to relax. It's really nice to see a familiar face," you reply, feeling a sense of comfort.
"I know, right? Who would have thought?" he responds, sharing your amusement.
"Right?" you giggle in response.
"I should get going. It's great to see you again. I'll catch you at the factory then?" he suggests.
"Yeah, definitely!" you affirm with a smile.
He waves goodbye and starts pedaling away, leaving you with a mix of excitement and warmth in your heart.
✧*̥˚ Timeskip *̥˚✧
Weeks had passed, and it felt like an eternity. Finally, you arrived in Monaco, your home. You had managed to keep a low profile at the airport, although a few people still recognized you. The gossip pages had already spread the word about your return. You had considered texting Lewis, but it seemed unnecessary now that the Instagram gossip pages had made the announcement.
Now, you were in your cozy apartment, a place you called home. It felt warm and comforting, and it was all yours.
During your soul-searching journey, you had disabled all the apps that connected you to the outside world - Instagram, Twitter, emails, and more. Now, you decided to open them again, and your phone buzzed incessantly with notifications. Choosing to mute it, you placed it under your pillow.
"Some people sure missed me," you tell to yourself, looking around the house to find your laptop. It was exactly where you had left it, in the living room.
You opened your emails on the laptop instead and saw several team-related messages about an upcoming meeting. You stared at them for a while, realizing it was time to return to work and face reality.
A tinge of sadness and nervousness crept over you, but you pushed any negative thoughts aside. You didn't want to dwell on the idea that they might not want you or anything pessimistic. It was time to move forward.
A knock interrupts your thoughts, causing a small jolt of surprise.
"Why do people keep scaring me?" you mutter to yourself.
The knocking persists, growing slightly louder.
"I'm coming!" you call out.
Excitement builds within you as you jog to the door, eagerly unlocking and swinging it open without hesitation.
"Hey,"
"Hey..." you respond, your tone revealing a lack of enthusiasm.
"Well, that sounds like you weren't happy to see me," the coach remarks.
"Because I wasn't," you reply, adding a touch of sarcasm to your voice.
He was your performance coach, and truthfully, you were never thrilled to see him. His presence meant returning to rigorous training. You had been working together for a year now, and while there was still a connection, you had been avoiding it since last year due to past issues.
However, you had undergone a transformation and were now a different person.
"Are you ready to get back out there?" the coach asks.
You gaze at him, newfound determination shining in your eyes.
"Hell yeah," you declare, a wide grin spreading across your face.
Throughout the day, you engaged in scheduling and planning, a common practice among Formula 1 drivers and their performance coaches. You both discussed training sessions, physical workouts, and practice sessions to optimize performance on and off the track.
Despite feeling exhausted from the earlier flight, the overwhelming flood of missed notifications, and the planning for upcoming races, your determination remained steady.
As the evening grew late, the coach suggested that both of you grab a meal together. You ventured out and decided to go to "La Marée," a renowned eatery in Monaco.
Stepping out of the car, a swarm of people immediately surrounded you. Cameras flashed, videos recorded, and requests for autographs came from all directions. It was the familiar scene you had missed—the support and admiration from the fans, which warmed your heart. With a wave of gratitude, you bid them farewell and entered the restaurant.
And there he was once more, Mick Schumacher, but this time accompanied by Toto and Susie Wolff. You greeted them warmly and approached closer.
"You've got to stop following me, man. It's becoming quite obvious," you playfully remarked to Mick.
"I could say the same to you!" Mick replied with a grin.
"Well, well, it seems like you two have been keeping tabs on each other," Toto chimed in, joining the conversation.
"Yeah, it certainly seems that way," you said, winking at Mick as he reciprocated. "So, are you guys heading out or...?" you inquired, curious about their plans.
"Yeah, we were just discussing... contracts," Mick added.
Contracts? Already? Why haven't they mentioned anything to me... you wondered, feeling a bit surprised.
Toto's hand gently squeezed your shoulder. "If you checked your emails once in a while, you would have known about yours already," he reassured you.
A sigh of relief escaped you. Thank goodness for that, you thought, realizing you had left your phone under your pillow and hadn't retrieved it before leaving with your coach.
"I had such a great vacation that it completely slipped my mind," you laughed awkwardly.
"We'll be expecting to see you at the factory, alright? We need everyone there," Toto emphasized the importance of your presence.
Then it hit you—Lewis. Where was he? You still haven't texted him.
After conversing for a while, you and your coach went to eat.
You enjoyed a pleasant dinner together before finally parting after arriving at your apartment.
Waving him goodbye, you made your way upstairs to your apartment. As you opened the door, you noticed that the living room was illuminated. Have you forgotten to turn off the lights? Perhaps your coach had left them on.
As you approached to switch off the lights, you froze. There, laying on your couch, was someone unexpected.
It was Lewis.
Lewis Hamilton had fallen asleep, patiently waiting for your return home.
Next Fic
So, my previous fic poll ended in a draw, so let's have another go! A few different options, this time, with some supporting evidence for each to help you make your decision!
May I present the poll:
And the supporting evidence!
Option 1:
"Uh, boss, your friend is here."
Detective Anthony Crowley looked up from his notebook and turned his golden gaze back to the crime scene tape a few feet away. Behind the white and blue tape, highlighted by the flashing lights of the police cars, was Reverend Aziraphale Fell. Clerical collar, sunny disposition, and two takeaway cups in his hand. One of those was six espresso; one was hot cocoa. Ridiculous man. Snarling, Crowley shoved his notebook into the back pocket of his trousers and stomped through sand to shoo Aziraphale back to his church.
"You can't be here."
"But—" Aziraphale began, a pout forming on those perfect lips. "—I can help. I was ever so good before—"
"—we were nine, Aziraphale. We're not making up mysteries and legging it in and out of caravans and arcades anymore." Which was a pity. The mysteries Aziraphale always dreamt up for them as children were less brutal than the one that currently laid before him. Huffing out a sigh, Crowley took the proffered coffee and gestured for a uniformed officer, Constable Honey, to escort the vicar out. "I'm sorry, Aziraphale. I'll see you on Sunday, yeah?"
"We'll see each other before then, no doubt." Sure, sure. "When you realise you do need my help."
Option 2:
Swiveling his hips, Crowley slid through the open bathroom window of AZ Fell and Co. Even though the bookshop had been broken into three times now, the proprietor, one Aziraphale Fell, still had no sense of security. No locks on the window, no alarms, no cute dogs that Crowley would have to pet and stroke in order to disarm. No, Crowley was free to move around the shop as he pleased. Maybe it was because Crowley had never actually stolen anything that Aziraphale felt safe.
Bah. Crowley didn't want him to feel safe. He wanted him to feel scared. Crowley could do anything here. Anything.
Slipping into the living room, Crowley noted that Aziraphale had fallen asleep on the sofa again. A threadbare blanket was pooled at his feet; a copy of some eighteenth century novel had fallen to the floor. Moving deftly, Crowley adjusted the blanket, placed the book upon the table, and tipped out Aziraphale's hot chocolate. There. Mental insecurity. Aziraphale would know that someone had been in there. Someone who could do anything.
As it was, Crowley committed the most heinous act of all: he left a rare book upon Aziraphale's coffee table, a product of his earlier activities. Gabriel Archer, that twat, wouldn't miss it. And it would certainly give the bookshop's profits a major boost.
Option 3:
"Excuse me, I was wondering whether you had a VHS copy of The Eastern Gate?"
From behind the counter, Crowley didn't even bother turning around to address his customer, so ridiculous was his request. Yes, Crowley had a copy of The Eastern Gate: it was one of Aziraphale Fell's early works, a black and white film focusing on an angel overseeing Eden. It had been very well-received at the time but public interest quickly waned. For years it spent time on BBC 2 on Sunday afternoons - that was where Crowley's copy came from, recorded with great care and attention onto VHS.
He had one copy. And it was not for sale.
The customer cleared his throat. "Dear boy, I do wonder if you could—"
"—in a minute. This is the best part." The Bastille had come out in the 90s, part of the interest in musketeers and the French revolution. Aziraphale looked delectable in the heavy iron chains and all those pretty frills. Just gorgeous. But, with great reluctance, Crowley pressed pause and turned to 'attend' to the customer who wanted the impossible, even in Crowley's memorabilia shop. "Listen—"
But Crowley didn't say another word. Because his customer wasn't just interested in Aziraphale Fell. He was Aziraphale Fell.
Option 4:
"Crowley, can I ask you a question about Twitter?"
Crowley immediately zoned back into the room. He had been fixated on the slight tinge of silver and white at the temples of Aziraphale's blond hair; the curve of his mouth as he indulged in dessert at The Ritz. For some time, Aziraphale had been discussing his latest project: a gripping drama for ITV featuring a gay romance between two childhood friends. It was the sort of project that Aziraphale did often - but this time he had been paired opposite BAFTA winning actor Raphael Archer.
Not that Crowley was jealous or anything. He hadn't campaigned for the role. Hadn't sent an audition tape and told he wouldn't be believable starring opposite Aziraphale in a romantic role. As if he hadn't spent thirty years yearning for this man. Oh, they had played detectives together, odd-couple roles, best friends. But never romantic leads.
And the first time a project came up that was perfect, Crowley lost to Raphael Archer. That Scottish twat. Breathe, Crowley. "What about Twitter, Angel?"
"I don't use it." No kidding. "But Raph does." Oh, Raph is it? "And a lot of his followers have started using a hashtag. Something #raphaphale?"
Crowley's glass immediately shattered. Thirty years as Aziraphale's shadow and this Scottish wanker gets a ship tag?
Option 5:
He was here again. Sitting in the front row with his delicately pressed tan trousers, neat little waistcoat with the gold buttons, and the delicate puff of blond curls. In his lap (which Crowley noted, not for the first time, was rather spacious) was his paddle, with the number 666 printed in red lettering. Since the man had started attending the auctions at Eden's Auction House, Crowley'd had fantasies about that paddle.
How the hell was he going to make it through today's auction?
Still, Crowley was a professional (allegedly). So, he took to the podium, gavel in hand, and addressed the crowd. "Lot number one is a collection of Austen, incredibly preserved from the period, featuring four books - including Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion." He swallowed a number of sarcastic remarks, bit back his need to share the crackpot biography he'd read about diamond heists and whisky smuggling. Not the crowd. Never the crowd. "Shall we start the bidding at fifteen hundred?"
The man was the first to take the bid. As it was accepted, he wiggled happily in his chair. Oh, Crowley was gone.
