Actually? Fuck all of the people trying to gatekeep comic book characters that exist in other media. Acting like people can only form opinions about characters based on the comics is bullshit. If someone likes the Teen Titans because of the TV show instead of taking the time to read the thousands of comics "required" to be a "real fan" of those characters, good for them. If someone likes the Young Justice or Justice League cartoons and wants to talk about their love of those characters, they should. If Batman from Batman the Animated Series is a person's favorite version of Batman and their comfort character, GOOD FOR THEM.

This need to gatekeep comic book characters that appear in other media is fucking gross. If someone loves Batman and says he's a great guy because of how he's depicted outside of modern comics, then they're not a "fake" Batman fan, they just love a version of Batman that you don't care about. The same goes for all of the other DC shows and movies. People are allowed to love versions of characters that exist outside of comics and call themselves a fan of that character.

Stop. Gatekeeping. Fictional. Characters

every time I see a human talking about "how cool it would be to have superpowers" or some shit like that I loose it a little bit more. do these people realize that being a mutant isn't just fun powers. like even beyond the shit I deal with trying to get jobs or all the relationships that have been ruined once people realized I'm a mutant. abilities aren't just fun and games, I have a friend who can't touch people without nearly killing them, I burned down three buildings before someone finally taught me to control my abilities, and these people are all like "wouldn't it be great to fly to work every day??" just admit that you see us as comic book characters and not real people with real struggles

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I think most of them have happy endings, especially the oneshots. If they're not happy, they're some kind of tender, or sweet. I do think Regrets has the most upbeat ending.

8. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes. More and more lately. I would say I write the kind of smut that makes you question yourself (and I haven't even dived into the kinkiest kinks). 9. Do you write crossovers? I didn't name my blog home of the crackships for nothing. I LOVE crossovers. I have a few on my AO3, but so many on my to-write list.

11. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope! Not formally. I do roleplay with a partner. I tried to re-write one of ours as a fic, but it's soooo tricky.

If we're talking my fav ships forreal, it's Lambert x Gojo Satoru x Clark Kent, Orm Marius x Clark Kent x Bruce Wayne, Barry Allen x Hal Jordan x Komand'r, Lilith x Eskel, etc.

13. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? None that I know of. I usually circle back and/or can be swayed to finish one.

14. What are your writing strengths?

Details. I think I have a few. I get weird fixated on details that I think make the writing feel more 'lived in' and immersive.

Side characters. I think I'm very good at creating intriguing side characters that you'll get attached to. My trick is that the character is fully developed with their own story before they appear on my page. How else will I get their interactions down, even if it's for a chapter and they're never seen again?

Humour. I literally cannot be serious. I have to shitpost halfway through my story.

15. What are your writing weaknesses?  

Pacing. I am impatient, I wanna get to the juicy parts, but some stories need to cook a little before getting to the fun stuff. I tend to use the excuse that since it's fanfiction, I can #yolo and post.

I cannot write something short for the life of me. Everything needs to end up being multi-chapter, I'm TIRED.

Smut. It's not raw enough. It's not filthy enough. I need to let go and be less formal about it. Just dig right in and have a meatier writing. I just don't think my current style fits pure smut. It does fit trying to fuck an eldritch horror and soul-shattering orgasms tho 😂 But sometimes, I just wanna go to pound town, not achieve self-actualization through butt stuff, you know???

16. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I have some foreign words in my Illyrian fic, and I am fluent in french. I do hate seeing other people write dialogue in different languages SPECIFICALLY FRENCH, so I won't be doing that.

18. Favorite fic you’ve written? I have different favourite ones for different reasons.

I like cosmic bloom because it's unhinged smut.

I like Regrets because it's my first ever Superbats fic and got so many kudos!

Okay well I watched the first episode of Blood Origin and honestly my thoughts are:

I just don't understand why people are so resistant to changes/new plotlines/some lore breaking of *recent* franchises but gobble it up when it's older. People telling an untold portion of a common tale is well established in storytelling culture. The first example that springs to mind is Lancelot, who straight up does not exist in original Authorian legend and was a FRENCH invention when the myth spread. Nowadays, most casual enjoyers of King Author stuff don't bat an eye to Lancelot's presence. Lancelot, who comes to mind, because Sapkowski writes said Lancelot to be in love with Ciri, and we're totally cool with *that* but not with changes to Sapkowski's work.

It's really telling that there's such a bigoted negative reaction to this because honestly? The black people so far have been BLACK black, darker than me, darker than even my black family sometimes. I'm enjoying seeing melanin in fantasy don't mind me. And the hair on the sisters is excellent, I'm liking the costuming, and I *really* like Eile.

The accents are kind of all over the place. Both as individual characters but also as the actors themselves. Sometimes Fjall goes from generic American accent to some form of fake Irish to ????european???? and back and it's distracting and weird. HOWEVER I do like the Irish and Welsh accents in high born kingdoms, because too often those accents are for commoners and poverty only, and this sort of turns the trope on its head.

I'm not sure how much I like the pan-Asian vibe I'm getting from some of the props and architecture. Some things look vaguely Chinese while others solidly Arabic while others a weird fusion of Indian and Korean and it's just odd to me. At first I thought it was because of clan structures but then I saw that it's just sort of everywhere. I have 0% Asian in me so I'm not really a good authority to speak on it but it's a weird vibe, a little Orientalist to my eyes. I'll freely admit that I like the aesthetic since I was raised pretty pan-African but I recognize that most continentally grouped cultures don't love that and it's mainly the black diaspora that's embraced it because we don't really have much of a choice.

I STILL feel that doing away with this short-season "but the episodes are an hour long!" nonsense would help pacing so much. Literally every time I thought the episode was going to come to an end, it's been roughly at the 20-25 min mark, which a standard TV episode would have been ANYWAY. So there's not really much point to having this be 4 hour-long episodes when it could be done better as 12-15 20 minute episodes... which would be the eqivilant of a short season while 24-32 is a more "standard" season (instead of 8 hour-long episodes). It gives you more time to flesh the characters and plotlines out while also allowing you the chance to trim some of the long-and-boring content people get tired of watching.

I really do feel bitter that the witcher tags continue to be people making racist and misogynistic memes instead of a fandom happily discussing a pretty strong first episode that introduced a billion fantasy characters of color. It really sucks that black people in fantasy is received so poorly when my inner 10 year old is happy to see people who look more like me having fun with the genre. I long for the day when I can exist in a fandom space and happily discuss my favorite black characters without having to justify their existence every 2 seconds.

Oof that CGI is pretty rough though. Which surprises me because the S2 CGI was not this rough so idk what happened here. That monster in the first episode is, uh, bad. And the background in the weird magicky place is also pretty, uh, bad.

I don't understand why the first witcher being an elf would piss Geralt off except maybe because that means Jaskier knows more about witchers than Geralt does? All of Geralt's iterations- the books, the games, the show, the comics- are pretty chill with elves as long as they're pretty chill with him. He only pursues certain elves and elf-blooded mixed race people when they pose a direct threat to him or his loved ones. Same as humans. So I don't really get that line at all unless, as said, it was more a "wow Geralt's gunna be pissed that I know this story and he doesn't"

💫 What is your favourite kind of comment/feedback? Oh, for sure overexcited ones or overanalytical ones. I love people going crazy and TYPING AS IF THEY ARE SHOUTING at me for doing something they liked/shocked them. I also love when readers notice little things I put there just to amuse myself and point them out to me and I'm like that Pikachu meme + Titania in the swing. However, I feel a kinship to those reblogs where there's just the "character x character" tag bc same, bestie, I'm also overwhelmed/tired and loved this fic but cannot go through the mental effort of an elaborated comment. Honestly, I appreciate every kind of interaction because the person who read it could have just done that and gone to the next thing, but they chose to show their appreciation, even if enthusiasm warms my heart.

🍭 Why did you start writing? Oh, I love this one. I started writing when I was about ten. However, at that time I mostly wrote short comics about my favourite TV characters in adventures. After a while, I started to realize that my interests were a bit different than those of my other classmates, I thought particular characters made more sense in a relationship than others in the books we read and shows we watched and needed somewhere to get that content. That was how I discovered fanfiction (around 12). At that time I had no idea why my opinions were different and why my peers couldn't see what I saw (we didn't have much awareness back in the day - 6 to 7 years ago) but the more I read, the more I wanted to write and show my friends how it made sense for those two guys to kiss each other silly and how the "they're lesbians" narrative felt so right with the tension the characters had in their interactions. Needless to say, in less than a year I was out of the closet and the sense of community I found in writing and reading fanfiction was exactly what I lacked in my offline life, so I was drawn to this world very easily. Most times, fandoms are very welcoming and full of the "different ones" that wanted to feel represented by the characters they love, and that made me want to be a part of it.

You know, I want to see Izuku and Katsuki as hero partners being absolutely silly, they do funny comments and random poses and combo moves that have the stupidest names

I want to see them catching each other when they are send flying by a villain in increasingly over the top maneuvers and then trying to keep a straight face after that

I want them sitting on top of buildings and eating their homemade food (by Katsuki, even if Izuku can cook, he just doesn't let that happen) and talking about different stuff and laughing all the time at every single thing they think sounds funny and people take pictures of them nearly falling of the roof because they were laughing too hard

They dancing out of nowhere to some song they like and singing along so loudly the lyrics are mostly screamed

Their hands always being in some place of the other's body, shoulder, waist, hair, tugging ears, pinching cheeks or simply kissing each other all over their face and being unable to pay attention to the poor reporter that is only doing their job

Katsuki massaging Izuku's hands after a big fight because he knows they hurt, Izuku giving him water sometimes because the explosions hurt his hands, they taking care of each other after battle while they wait for the paramedics

Just, they being together and happy and healthy

Like, Deku does something to embarrass himself in front of Katsuki and later Uraraka mocks him and Deku pretends to be angry and then they both laugh

Or Uraraka trying to flirt with a girl and failing miserably and Deku pretends he is her in a tragic romance and she tells him to stop but smiling and obviously amused by this

Two people have shown interest which means I'm free to blow up about this.

I'm tired of shipping. Like genuinely, I'm so fucking tired of shipping. It's not even fun anymore, and half the time it's just annoying like dear God. Not everything has to be about romance. You don't need to look at all possibilities of x characters having a romantic relationship fo fully enjoy them as characters, or to try and understand them on a deeper level. And hell you don't need ships to make something more "interesting". Things aren't boring without romance. I'm so tired of people consuming media through the lens of "who can I pair with who"

Like not everything has to be about romance. It's already everywhere, in almost every song, movie, TV show, book, comic, game, etc, there's going to be themes of romance. No matter how genuine or shoe horned it is, it's there! If you want something that explores the relationship and dynamics of characters in a romantic light, the options are endless.

And if you happen to think that two characters on a movie or show have chemistry, then whatever. That's fine. More power to you.

But then you have cases like Unicorn Wars.

Unicorn Wars is a beautiful movie about war, prejudice, religion being used as a justification for colonization and control, the dangers of us vs them mentalities. It is a fucked up movie. It is a tragic movie. And the tags are full of shipping art. Fan art, fan fiction, aus, comics, etc, of two ot three character. You're going to be hard pressed to find anyone genuinely talked about the movie or its themes, or even be able to tell what it's about if you look at its rags.

Another example is the first spiderverse movie. People were so desperate to ship something, especially for an mlm ship, that they shipped spider ham and spider noir. Like sure, on one hand it was funny. But people acted like they needed some romantic pairing to focus on.

The same is with Portal! It's comedy, scifi horror game about escaping a giant robot. Everyone knows Portal. We have the "cringy qnd infamous" (at least thats how people tend to view the ship now, back in the day youd het hatemail for not shipping it) history of people shipping Chell with Tumblr Sexyman Wheatley. But there's also GLaDOS. People have the hots for GLaDOS, I get it. She's hot. Giant mean woman hot. People project themselves onto Chell, as people tend to do with main characters, and ship them. (Also ignoring the fact that it's implied that Caroline was Chells mom, but hey people are desperate for wlw ships because of how rare they are in media).

When Frozen, a movie about how you dont need a romantic parrner to be loved, first came out people were RABID about shipping Ana and Elsa to the point where they were using suit actors as Disney hugging as proof their ship was canon.

This also happened in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters. The movie has zero romantic subplots, and very little focus on the human characters. But everyone shipped Ghidorah and Rodan because there's a joke in the movie about what happens when wild animals invade eachothers territory. Note: Ghidorah came in to best the shit out of Rodan and display dominance.

Hell this also happens with lesser known media. I'm PG Psycho Goreman, people were so desperate to have someone to ship that they shipped the two main characters who were siblings. Like God damn my guys.

Digital Circus isn't even a week old and there's shipping discourse. Someone dug up my friends YEARS old post about why ChelDOS makes them uncomfortable (a small untagged post with under 50 notes) and started sending them messages saying they're "being rude and mean".

I looked up shit for Ghost and it's 70% shipping content. Cool, the goofy backstory about Satanists trying to rule the world with music is kinda pushed to the side by the fan base so people can white fics about the ghouls fucking. I get it! They're a horny band. But please guys come on, I wanna see someone explore their backstory and gimmic.

God it's like this on Twitter too. It's fucking insane. Not everyone needs to be boyfriend girlfriend. Like yeah, in the end it's harmless. But please how to enjoy content outside of "okay but what if they kissed"

Hey, I have kind of hc'ed myself into a corner. I'm working on a oneshot based on someone else's art, which takes place at an office christmas party. Somewhere along the way I started hc'ing one of the chars as jewish tho. I went through your tags and it appears to me that it wouldn't actually be a problem for him to be at the party, as long as it's not overly religious? (Which it isn't. It's just a "christmas party" because of christian culture.) My main question is now, what would be good, small ways to keep the character noticeably jewish, esp in a relatively short story? My thoughts so far were that he'd probably object to someone putting a santa hat on him? And/or his colleagues might thank him for taking some extra shifts during christmas itself so they can stay home (in exchange for covering shifts for him during Chanukah? I know it's not a major holiday but around the same time so an exchange would make sense?) Mostly I'm just looking for every-day details, maybe something you guys would like to see more of? Thanks in advance!

I like thanking him for working on Christmas — but working for him "on Chanukah" really doesn't make a whole lot of sense because you wouldn't be missing work. Recognition of the holiday is done mostly through lighting candles at night. If you want the exchange to be fair, they could always have traded just for him traveling at a different time — like oh, thanks for working for us on Christmas, now I'll work for you the following Tuesday — a day off is a day off.

Mileage may vary on the Santa hat. I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with someone putting that on my head if I was already at a Christmas party but someone else might, so I'm curious what our Jewish followers will say about this in the notes. 

He can maybe bring something traditional like rugelach or babka as his contribution to the party's dessert potluck... or if you want something specifically seasonal, jelly donuts (which are a Chanukah thing for some people.)

I'll start with a caveat I've made before: Jewish people are varied. Our practices, views, and choices are manifold. 

All of that being said, there's no way I would go to a Christmas party. I know what you mean when you describe the party as not being overly religious but "Christmas because of Christian culture." From where I'm sitting though, you can take the Jesus out of it, but it's still a Christian holiday, Santa, trees with lights, caroling, Christmas music (even the heaps of songs written by Jewish people) are all still Christian culture. Christian being the operative word, and with my operative word being Jewish. 

Now, let’s say I went to a secular, winter-party. We'll imagine that there are no decorated trees, no gifts being given, just snowflake decor and mulled wine. If someone at that party (or any other), who knew that I'm Jewish, tried to put a Santa hat on my head, I would be immediately arguing with my fullest, deepest voice. Christmas is pervasive, it's music in the stores, lights on every street, public buildings closed, and everyone wishing you a "Merry Christmas," and then angry when you smile and say "thank you, but I celebrate Chanukah!" Even if you use your cheeriest voice, and your happiest smile. It's great that other people are so excited, and happy at the time, but it can be exhausting to have to be constantly reminded that I am largely forgotten, and when I am remembered, I'm expected to assimilate. Why would I put myself through an extra portion of that?

I don't mind one, or two examples of stories where Jewish people go and participate in Christian holidays, plenty of us do! But it's all the time, in books, tv, movies, comics... I'm exhausted by the premise, and frustrated as the overabundance of that particular story contributes to the broader culture's expectation that I should be willing to be culturally Christian for a night, a week, a month, or more.

Like Dierdra, I have largely stopped going to these, but I would reiterate that there are many reasons why people would go. For example, being Orthodox, it’s hard enough not being able to join colleagues for drinks on Friday night or dig in when a manager takes pity on us and orders pizza. I don’t want to be that Jewish girl who never gets involved.

With this in mind, I would avoid using refusal to take part, or even getting annoyed at being forced to take part like with the Santa hat, as the parameters that define your character’s Jewishness. Especially at Christmas, where there’s already the common assumption that only the biggest killjoys refuse to celebrate.

Because of the seasonal aspect, this is one of the few times that I actually would consider Channukah to be one of your best options for introducing Jewish identity. Pre-Covid, I would often bring a dreidel and a box of chocolates to my very non-Jewish office during Channukah, and anyone who wanted could play with me at lunchtime. There’s no reason this couldn’t be taking place at a Christmas party, since it’s a very simple game to learn and most people find it fun the first few times. If you can, try slipping into the dialogue that this isn’t the only holiday the character celebrates though, since we are very tired of seeing that.

If you’re confident in your ability to write microaggressions, you could also create one or two uncomfortable moments for the character, because when people get drunk they often ask really weird questions about your religion and culture. For example, I was once at a work party where someone managed to get out of me (despite my attempts to dodge his invasive questions) that I was Jewish, and he immediately asked me why all the Jews in a particular ultra-Orthodox neighbourhood drove similar cars. The same night, my boss’s boss told me three times that he had loved going to Israel as a kid and thought of it as Christian Disney Land. You don’t have to get into microaggressions if this is just supposed to be a short, festive story, but I think it would feel very real and refreshing for a lot of Jewish people to see those experiences validated.

Other than that, I also like Shira’s suggestion of bringing Jewish food. I’ve turned up to many a ‘winter holiday’ party with latkes, even if I was the only Jewish person there. Covering Christmas day and getting a day back later is also very common, although I agree with Shira this wouldn’t be for observance of Channukah. It would either be a random day in the near future, or saved up for Passover, which is the next holiday requiring time off work.

As an asexual person, it's not often I see people like myself in fics so I decided it was an opportune moment to try my hand in writing an ace character. Yelena is cannonically asexual in the comic books which makes me so happy 😭😭. It's also my first time writing a female character so please go easy on me 🙏🏻 To whoever stumbles on this, I hope you enjoy 💛

It's been a long 8 weeks. Taking private phone calls at all times of the day, making poor excuses to why you would be home late and lying when asked if everything was ok. You were tired of sneaking around and the guilt was starting to eat away at you but you knew there was no way you could tell Yelena the truth just yet.

After checking your clothes to make sure there was no evidence of any kind on them, you take a deep breath and open the front door. The sight in front of you makes you stop short.

Yelena is sitting on the couch, eyes puffy and the remainder of the tears she missed still on her cheeks. There's a duffel bag at her feet. Your blood ruins cold at the sight.

"Baby, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" You rush over to her but she flinches away from your touch. There's a flash of anger in her eyes now.

"Why don't you tell me? Hmm. Is there someone else? You've been acting strange for weeks and there can only be one explanation as to why. Are they giving you what I can't? Because you told me that me being asexual didn't matter to you. You'd be happy with me no matter what! Do you not want me anymore?"

Her voice breaks at the end of her spiel and your heart breaks with it. You need to diffuse this situation and fast.

Taking her face in your hands, you make sure she looks you in the eyes.

"I swear on my life, there is no one else but you. You make me so fucking happy sweet girl. I never thought I would find someone who I would love this much and no one is worth jeopardising what we have. You are my world. When I look at you, I see my whole future in front of me."

The fight drains out of her and in the quietest voice asks

"Then why are you never here with me? Why are you always sneaking around?"

Sighing, you take her hand and lead her to the front door. Outside waiting for you is your friend holding a box in their arms. Yelena looks at them confused.

Suddenly a furry little head pops out from the box, tongue hanging out and from the way the box is vibrating, wagging her tail like a madwoman.

"Surprise?"

It takes a moment for all the information to sink in for Yelena. She suddenly gasps, then squeals, then is hauling ass down the path to the newest addition to the family. Taking the box from you friend, Yelena is crying for a completely different reason now.

"Are they for me?" she sobs.

Your friend decides to make a hasty retreat now that their job is complete. Thanking them, you turn your focus to your little family. You can't tell who is more excited to see the other. Your cheeks ache slightly from the massive grin you have on your face.

"You always said you wanted a dog. My friend's dog just had a litter and asked if I was interested and I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I wanted it to be a surprise but I wanted her to know my scent so she wasn't scared when she came home. So that's why I've been sneaking around. I'm so sorry I made you doubt...."

You're cut off by a pair of soft lips on yours. Sighing into the kiss, you relax now that you have her forgiveness and enjoy the moment. Until you're forced to jerk away due to the feel of a wet nose pressed against your cheek and there is a sudden whiff of puppy breath. Yelena howls with laughter at the look on your face before cupping your cheek.

"Thank you my love, I'm so happy!"

Your heart swells at her smile and her crinkled eyes. You can't believe how lucky you are to have this woman in your life and vow to do whatever it takes to keep her smiling this way.

Kisaki of course knew about your love for anime/comcis/videogames. You would talk to him about it all the time, ranting to hom about the lastest episode, chapter, or game release. Half the time he didn't know what you were talking about but he just enjoy listening to you talk about the things you loved. He like seeing the smile on your face as you talk.

But you never told him about your love for cosplay or that you cosplayed. Something in you told you not to say anything to him. You knew he wouldn't judge you about dressing up as your favorite characters but you still kept you mouth shut.

Til one day you were getting dressed in your newest cosplay for the convention that morning and Kisaki, having cancelled his meeting and wanted to suprise you that he was home early, waltzs into your shared bedroom. You mentally scream as Kisaki stares at you in confusion for a few seconds and than shrugs it off, thinking it was some anime/comic/videogame thing.

After getting dreseed in more comfortable clothes he questions why were you dressed up. You give up and explain to him what cosplay was and why you and many others liked it. He understood what cosplay was and tells you that he didn't care if you liked cosplay. He didn't think it was childish or weird. As long as you were happy doing the thing yoh loved he was.

Relieved, you ask Kisaki if he would like to come to the convention with you, you having a extra ticket cause you friend canceled on you last minute. He agreed, wanting to see what the convention was all about and maybe getting a better understanding of the things you loved.

Kisaki was stuck carrying your bags (especially if your cosplay has a weapon)

He was also in charge of taking any photos

He didn't understand any references you and other fans of the shows, books, or games said to each other

If you cosplayed a character that has revealing clothes, Kisaki would glare at anyone who looked at you in a way he didn't like

He also slightly didn't like that attention you were getting from people

You were okay with hugs but he wasn't. So he would give the person who hugged you a death glare, scaring the person before smiling when you turned back to him

Buys you any poster, plushie, or figure you want

For a person who runs Toman, walking around a convention tired him out more than anything. He didn't know how you could do all that walking with a cosplay on and hold a weapon

After the Con you give him hugs and kisses, thanking him for tagging along and helping you

After that Kisaki goes to every convention wit you

You get your own little office in the penthouse where you can make all your cosplays, he sometimes help

You convince him do a couples cosplay. So he binged the show the characters are from so he'll know what he's getting into

Hanma is also really into the idea of his buddy cosplaying and enjoying it

Cloth, sewing stuff, glue, wigs, hair spary is everywhere

You somehow convinced him to crossdress, he fucking kills it

Adding this for my fellow black cosplayers

Kisaki will cuss out (maybe even release Hanma) anyone who dares talk about you cosplay because "The character is black". He will go off, no mercy. Kisaki will either scare the person away or you would need to drag him away before he kills someone (even though a part of you hope karma bites the person in the ass).

"You're cosplay is amazing! You worked just as hard as everyone else here and you deserve the same respect others gets."

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

I did like Cassandra Cillian's arc in Librarians, going from her synesthesia affecting everything and willing to do anything to get rid of her tumor to seeing it as a gift and accepting her death, though I'm also very glad she got to live and that arc continued. Also going from being alone to having these people she cares so much about.

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

There's nothing I can really think of off the top of my head? There's a few characters and ships I get kind of tired of all the focus being on them, but not in an actively disliking it way, I just get very picky about who's writing the fic I guess. I might remember something later, but the only fandom tags I have blocked are horror ones because I generally don't do horror

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

Barry Allen from DC, (pre-retcon especially) he's just this completely normal guy who happened to get superpowers and immediately decided to use them to help people because what else could they ever be used for? And he named himself after his favourite character from his favourite comic book, he loves his wife (so close to picking Iris as a favourite, if we went exclusively DCTV I probably would pick Iris), he's mostly an introvert but he's so nice he just makes friends everywhere, he loves his kids, and I really want him and Iris to get the Tornado Twins back DC. Also he works in a lab yet does not seem to know what health and safety means

Ezekiel Jones from The Librarians, honestly, I love all the Librarians (I miss that show), but Ezekiel's great, and the Point of Salvation is definitely up there in favourite episodes. Here's this cocky thief except he really is that good and his biggest secret is that he's actually a good person

Clint Barton from Marvel, that opening to Matt Fraction's run sums it up, there's a world of superheroes and he's just this guy with a bow and arrow who threw himself into it anyway, and maybe he's kind of a mess sometimes but he's trying his best.

Last week I posted about saying goodbye to our 18 year old beloved cat...

... this week I am here to introduce you to the new babies in the family, lol

We have always had at least two cats; this was more important when we didn’t all stay home basically all the time (I live with my folks and they are both retired now), but we still generally prefer it. So we knew we would be adopting soon.

I was not expecting this, but I do not mind:

They are sisters, 11 weeks old and from the same litter. The shelter had them isolated from the other kittens because they had ear mites, so we’ll have to be very careful about quarantine until that is taken care of (their last treatment is schedule for a week from now, so it won’t be too long) so our other cat doesn’t get them.

They are a little shy, but very sweet. At least one will be a talker-- she yelled at us the whole drive home. I think they might be social eaters, as they ignored their food until I was just chilling in the room with them, after we got them home.

We hadn’t really planned on two, so we hadn’t picked names, but then my mom jokingly called them Soju and Makgeolli and, well, it stuck. So here they are.

This is Soju:

She’s actually the explorer, the less skittish of the two, who didn’t mind the drive.

This is Makgeolli:

She spent more than half of the 40 minute drive home expressing her displeasure, loudly.

It has been 18 years since we have had a kitten in our house. I am delighted by them.

The year Sir Terry died, our local comic con happened to take place over the weekend of the Glorious 25th of May. I didn't have a lot of time to throw anything together, but being Vetinari was still one of my favorite things. Very few people recognized it, but those that did were so happy, it made the lack of attention from others worth it.

Listen, if you have an opinion about any MDZS character that amounts to them being 100% good or evil, you missed the entire point and should maybe take a step back, especially if you're going to hate on others who do not share your opinion.

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

I believe it didn't hit me before Spider-Man: Homecoming. Civil War was about Steve & Bucky for me, but when I saw that growing up Peter with Tony, their dynamic, chemistry. Tom & Robert are really just like that.

2. Have you ever read a fanfic about 2?

Lmao. I've read like 50% of the tag on AO3, I wrote my own & started a few wips on them. They are amazing. Plus, with that shitty canon? We didn't get enough of them & they deserved better, so it's only logical to save yourself with fanfiction.

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr screen saver?

I was living with The Outsider icon on my twitter & tumblr. That one is still my Google profile picture I believe. Don't remember about having an icon with the two of them. Also had The Outsider as my lockscreen on my smartphone for a while.

4. If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?

Funny how it fits canon, lmao. Rhys literally tried to erase Jack's AI in TFTBL, so I guess another day on Pandora, nothing new. They torture each other, they kiss each other, they kill other people in the process. It'll be fiiine.

5. Why is 1 so important?

I love them since the first time I met them, which was much more than 10 years ago, I don't even remember when. At some point they were the reason I was waking up & forcing myself to eat just to read more fanfiction & feel something. Even if I was drowning in pain (I was extremely depressed), it was still something. I read every fic I could find at that time. The depression that Harry went through, all these feelings, his love for Sirius. I was living through it, I could relate.

I'm currently drowning in these two again, though in a much healthier & happier state. I see their flaws & I know as much as I can. I see them differently as an adult. They saved me, they keep being my number one, I still consider making a tattoo of Padfoot/Sirius or of both Harry & Sirius together. I have many headcanons, ideas, I write fics about them. They are everything, you see? They were my choice when there was nothing, no one. They are HOME.

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

Both. There goes the dynamic of Jack & Rhys: torture, fighting, flirting, a lot of trauma. I'd definitely say that they are wild and comical sometimes, but they are definitely serious. With the Asylum, the mental health issues. There is so much more to it, the complexity of their relationship. The struggle of loving who you probably shouldn't (but hey, when does it work like that?) Thinking about Tettlate's Batman, about Batman: Europa & how Joker was: "You must be crazy, putting me in charge of the plan, letting me decide. Okay, well..."

Nah, they are entertaining, but this is a serious ship.

7. Out of all the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

Are you kidding me? They are all the definition of CHEMISTRY. I'd say 5, but then go 2, 6, 7, 8. Come on. I'm not choosing. Most of they are WILD.

9. How many times have you read/watched the 10’s fandom?

The fandom itself? Idk. I found one of my favourite artists through this fandom. If it's about the characters themselves, I played the first game with the DLC from start to beginning, looking around every corner. Spent more than 60 hours in there. Watched a second game (my laptop can't run the game) and the DLC (obviously), since Francis is in the DLC & not in the main game. I have a tag for them on tumblr, I read fanfiction, I tried to write my own. I still follow Elias & want a third game. Elias liked my tweets about Adam and Jensen being an actual couple a few times. I'd say I interacted with all of this a lot? Still do, actually.

10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

5. Best friends since childhood, fought & died for each other, still found their way back to each other. "It would break your Captain's heart, to see what they did to you." That only the MENTION of Steve can pull Bucky out of this brain washing(ed?) state, distract him in the middle of a fight. When Steve died in the comics because of Sharon & Tony sent Natasha to take Steve's shield from Bucky because even Tony knew how much Steve means to Bucky. And Bucky was like: "Oh, I see what he did. Not happening!" Fought Natasha (that is his ex in the comics) & kept going for Steve's sake.

Well, you see the point, I can go on and on.

11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?

They're not actually canon so none? They had a few fights: In Civil war (the comics), in Homecoming (the movie).  That only means that they’ve got history & love each other.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

As fierce Grace is, they wouldn't stand a chance against Damon & Elena. Those two had to deal with worst thing than brainless stupid zombies. On the other hand, if there were no alive humans to drink their blood... It's either an animal diet that Damon hates so much or I don't know? Still, they're faster & more powerful. Their bodies have advantage of healing the wounds as well.

13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

From some people, yeah. Don't tell Athena, don't tell Vaughn, don't tell Fiona. Though Rhys wasn't very subtle about it & Jack just doesn't give a fuck. You will probably end up dead if you disagree or bore him, or if you're useless.

"I can take you to the top, but you gotta know where the top is" & Rhys doesn't tell anybody until Jack makes him the President for like whole 20 minutes lol.

Fiona & Sasha: "This can't be happening." Sure it can, darling.

14. Is 4 still together?

I have a headcanon about The Outsider finding Emily & Corvo after Billie frees him from the Void. He doesn't have anybody & they are his only friends aside from a potential friendship with Billie. And if we don't consider TOTO dlc, they definitely are! The Outsider visits them both when they sleep & takes them to the void sometimes. How could he not?

15. Is 10 canon?

Not really but also sort of? Let's say that they really care about each other in canon, despite Adam pushing Francis away because of his trauma & fear that Megan caused him. :/

16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

Can you imagine wizards fighting extremely powerful vampires? Superheroes with venom in their bodies that make them super strong with people that made a deal with the Devil himself (hi Le Bail)? 5000 y.o. God and his lover that share his powers and an augmented human protecting his tired IT guy? Combine mental health issues to that, Jack and Rhys with Batman and Joker. Corvo & The Outsider would probably slay them all as Corvo and Emily did in both games with entire islands, though it will still be a slaughter anyway.

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?

All the fucking time, lmaooo. I’m not even talking about it.

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

I feel like I already did with Steve & Bucky after many Marvel movies (we're not even mentioning Endg*me, I fucking died & was dead for full 4-5 months).

19. Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?

I used to do that a few years back, but not anymore. There is not much content since the trilogy is finished.

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all forever, which ship would you sink?

1 already went through it & fandom lives, so I'd say maybe 7? Rhys will find a way to bring Jack back & they are both so wild. It’s what happened in canon anyway. Jack kidnapped Lilith & forced her to do Angel's job, so I'd like to see that witch try at first. Jack is an immortal bastard. <3

Now that I think about it, Corvo would also deal with her in seconds as she waits to curse them.

As a conclusion: no one breaks up forever, we're killing the witch.

Q1: IF YOU COULD WRITE YOUR CHARACTER YOUR WAY IN THEIR OWN MOVIE, WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED, WHAT STYLE WOULD IT BE FILMED IN, AND WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

•So, I'm already making a comic that I want to make as an animation for the story of FFXIV with my character and her friends. This character was specifically built for FFXIV, but it has a twist. Kinda like a Sword Art Online ordeal, but instead of Millions of people playing are stuck in the world, it's just like 100, but they aren't stuck, in fact they are just chosen to go between their world and Eorzea. If they die, they don't actually die, but respawn, even in their own world, but they feel how they die and the only way for them to die in any shape or form is by natural cause like old age or sickness. This would be a 2D animation in the anime style and be a multi episode series with multiple seasons. I even though about branching out to go certain routes so that Lyllyan can end up with all my favorite characters. I would call it Final Fantasy XIV: A World Reborn.

Q2: WHAT WOULD THEIR SOUNDTRACK/SCORE SOUND LIKE?

•With it being a Final Fantasy story, it would have Final Fantasy Music.

Q3: WHY DID YOU START WRITING THIS CHARACTER?

•Lyllyan Weiss was made to represent me and she still does, but also inspires me to be more like my courageous heroic self. Because of this, I have been able to do things like crossing a bridge that's in bad shape to get to the other side without the fear of falling, just to get back to my mom who went to the other side on a trip we had.

Q4: WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO THIS CHARACTER?

•She is literally me.

Q5: DESCRIBE THE BIGGEST THING YOU DISLIKE ABOUT YOUR MUSE.

•Just like me, she is stubborn and hard working, but there are times she pushes herself way too much. She hesitates to ask for help, not because she doesn't trust the people around her, but more of trying to not burden them. Others wish she would open up to them and also rest when she can. Raha has to literally force her to rest, and she nearly gets herself killed against the first battle with Rahjit because she kept getting back up to fight even when the others beg her to stop.

Q6: WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH YOUR MUSE?

•Almost everything. Major thing is that she doesn't look like me, but also I know when to quit.

Q7: HOW DOES YOUR MUSE FEEL ABOUT YOU?

• I feel like if Lyllyan and I were to meet in person, we'd get along just fine. We would play video games all day long if we could.

Q8: WHAT CHARACTERS DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE INTERESTING INTERACTIONS WITH?

•OH BOI HERE WE GOOO

- Leveilleur Twins: Alphinaud and Alisaie are very close to Lyllyan. Alphinaud used to pull Lyllyan out of class to have her hurry up and go through the story, now its chill and play ace attorney. Alphinaud, depending on what route is taken, is definitely in love with Lyllyan and is constantly teased about it by everyone. Alisaie is like a sister to Lyllyan. They have had many nights where the pulled 24 hours playing Sims. Alisaie is who Lyllyan tries to protect the most between the two. She's also the reason why Lyllyan is now Bi. Lyllyan absolutely adores her and if the route is taken, they end up being the cutest couple.

-Leon D'hart: An Alt character that I made that depending on the story and route, he is also Lyllyan's Lover. He is a character made by Square Enix to be the Warrior of Light replacement if Lyllyan did not succeed in preventing herself becoming a light warden. His story with her is a bunch of trial and tribulations, but in the end they do end up married.

-G'raha Tia/Crystal Exarch: The main story Lyllyan's Lover. Great friend to start out and tears were shed when he sealed himself into the tower. He really kept Lyllyan guessing when he was Exarch. When Emet-Selch kidnapped him, Lyllyan was hellbent on getting him back. Now she visits him at the first everyday bring stuff from Eorzea for him, and even occasionally stuff from her world. He is her world as she is to him.

-The Scions: Thancred and Lyllyan are like Big brother, Little sister. He protects her, and scolds her as such. They may act like they hate each other, but the moment either gets hurt, the other is at their sides. Though rumor has it that Thancred had feelings for Lyllyan. Y'shtola is close to Lyllyan, but is usually not around often. Shtola usually is often around to keep an eye on Lyllyan's aether since her amount is quite high compared to the others and her fellow Warriors of Light. Urianger is someone who used to hardly talk to Lyllyan, but started opening up more after the years. He had watched her grow from 15 moons to now 21 as the others, but they seem to be more special to him. Lyllyan swore to protect him if anything ever happened especially after he asked her her thoughts on his new attire. Tataru is a precious angel and if anyone was to hurt her, Lyllyan would kill everyone and then herself. Ryne, even though she is not a scion, she is a scion. Ryne worries about Lyllyan, but is often in awe of her. Lyllyan and Thancred adopted her, and she's ended up calling Lyllyan mom on many occasions.

-Ser Aymeric: Depending on the route, he would be Lyllyan's Lover and he tries to protect her when he can, be it politics or in war. He has a dream to journey with her, and though he can't do so with Lylyan Weiss the Au Ra, there is nothing saying he can't make a character and become a Warrior of Light himself and travel with Sakura Yue(Lyllyan's Alt).

-Zenos Yae Galvus: So this guy commits Seppuku and then shows up at Lyllyan's job as her new Bartender. They end up becoming friends through the job, and the fact that Zenos is bored out of his mind that he can't go kill people,but finding out later that he is back makes Square Enix themselves worried about this guy.

-Estinien: Lyllyan had adopted him as her Edgy Son. He hates it. He reminds her that he is older than him, and she retorts about beating him as a Lalafel. He usually starts brooding after that on a high building that usually takes Alphinaud and Ser Aymeric to get him down.

Q9:WHAT GIVES YOU INSPIRATION TO WRITE YOUR MUSE?

•Music and Playing Final Fantasy. Mainly XIV, but others do count too, but also reading all the other fanfiction and comics about final fantasy XIV.
