I reread Diolomatic Relations (x) for the umpteenth time today and had a thought.
Teenage Lan Wangji had a reputation, even back then, for being something of a hard-core disciplinarian. I mean, if I remember write, Nie Huaisang even warned Wei Wuxian to watch out for "Not Lan Qiren, but his prized pupil, Lan Wangji", or something to that effect, on the first day they arrived.
Now yes, that reputation might be only within Lan Sect walls at that point (Nie Huaisang knowing because he'd attended the lectures multiple times), but think about it!
We never really got to see him interact with anyone other than Wei Wuxian in Canon for that time period, and well, Wei Ying has always been Lan Zhan's exception. (Who else managed to get Lan Wangji to draw his sword within minutes of meeting them when No Fighting is one of the Lan Sect rules?!)
So, what if it's even more of a thing than assumed?
Would even be hilarious if it turned into A canon-divergent AU.
Because I can definitely see:
Somebody making trouble and Lan Wangji showing up with that disapproving stoic face of his, only for Wei Wuxian to show up, and Lan Wangji just freezing from the onslaught of "Wei Ying!" pinging in his head, and by the time he remembers the troublemakers, they're long gone
Of course, eventually someone realizes that when Wei Wuxian's around, he sees absolutely nothing else and this is how Wei Wuxian befriends all of the Lan Sect (and probably his entire peer group) all in one go
Only, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian catch on eventually (they might be dense, but they aren't stupid). Lan Wangji would probably find out via the good ole fashioned, unintentional family intervention. Big brother's amusement that he's finally learning to let some of the minor infractions slide... and Wei Wuxian would probably have to overhear some of the Lan disciples talking, getting it literally spelled out for him, for him to figure it out
Dunno if Wei Wuxian would think it all a great joke or if it would be a golden nugget of truth that smacks him in the face, but we all know he'd act on it immediately. And Lan Wangji, well, now he's ready for it. He might still have no idea how he really feels for Wei Wuxian, but he's got one of two options: get stricter or foster a less hostile image, and well, even dense as a brick, Lan Zhan likes Wei Ying
So the counterattack begins: suddenly it's not that Lan Wangji doesn't notice anything, it's that when Wei Ying is around, he dishes out slaps on the wrist. All the while, of course, Wei Ying is determined to see how many of Lan Zhan's buttons he can push before that jade facade starts to crack
In true WangXian fashion, though, things only come to head in the Cold Pool somehow, and ribbons (both blue and red) get involved. I have no idea which verse I'm working with, but accidental teenage handfasting in a cage because of bunnies and ancestors is appealing and amusing (tho, I've never been all that amused by Yin Iron)
Only, they cone out the othersidr United, dammit. They both know what they did and the consequences they're going to have to deal with, because contextually, it wouldn't make sense for Wei Ying to not realize there's something off about the ribbon's meaning (seeing as to test Lan Zhan's "kindness" regarding broken rules, he'd have to pay really, really, close attention to said rules)
And so Wei Ying comes out with a new bracelet and Lan Zhan with a naked forehead, and the scandal shakes the Lan Sect upside down, but it quickly makes for changes--- because I forget what fanfic I read where something similar went down, but in the scene where Jin Zixuan got punched, Wei Wuxian felt the ribbon when be clenched his fist and remembered restraint at the last minute and that is *chef's kiss* beautiful, and so Wei Wuxian gets to stay and finish out the year
And Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji go night hunting when they get that far into the lectures, and Wei Wuxian trips into the baby Lan section at some point because he totally would, and throughout all of this the couple starts earning this distinctly unique reputation: Wei Wuxian is Lan Wangji's only soft spot.

Yunjin x M!Reader: Sleepless(Part 1)
1.2k words
Yunjin's POV
Hey, just a quick introduction of myself. My name is Huh Yunjin, I'm an aspiring singer, but still a student in University. I'm currently in a basic programming class and it is the bane of my existence.
It's around 8pm, I looked up as I carried my bag into a new 24/7 cafe near my house, the Kopi Shop. As I walked in, I saw a rather small but cozy cafe, one or two customers, as well as one guy behind the counter of the cafe. I set my stuff down into a small cubby at the corner of the cafe, before ordering a beverage.
I walked up to the counter with a smile on my face, as I was greeted with a stone cold face, with very, and I mean VERY heavy eyebags.
"Hi can I take your order?" The man behind the counter said, as I glanced down at his nametag. 'Ah, Y/N' "Hi, could I get a Caramel Macchiato?" He nodded as he keyed in the order, "That will be 3000 won. Can I get a name?" "Jennifer."
"Caramel Macchiato for Jennifer!" I heard, as I went to grab my drink, continuing my revision. My course is currently going through basic Python coding, and I know, I know, it's basic coding, but for the even slightly complicated stuff, I couldn't grasp on to it for the life of me.
In the blink of an eye, it's 12.30 am? HOW? I've watched like one 1 hour lecture... I'm gonna flunk this module. As I looked around the cafe, all the other customers were gone. I was the only customer left and the man at the cashier was still there. That's odd, I'd assume the midnight shift people would have taken over by now. Anyways, I quite like this place, drinks were fairly priced, the seats were comfortable and the ambience was good for studying. I'd probably come back again after I get a good night's sleep. As I walked out of the cafe, I smiled and waved goodbye to the cashier, who simply nodded in response and gave back a small smile. Wow, emotions, didn't know he had it in him.
Time skip to the next day I was settling down in the cafe once again, this time closer to the cashier,when I got a message from Sakura-Unnie. "Yunjin-ah, how is the studying going?" I smile as I read through the message, replying, "Not great, this is so annoying to do:(" I ordered a drink again, and curiously, the cashier was the one that was the same as the last day, and he was alone behind the counter, again. Weird, I'd assume someone who was on the midnight shift would have clocked out by now. "Hi Jennifer, what would you like?" He said once again, his monotonous voice staying the same as always, but I was shocked 'wow, he remembered!' I smiled back at him and said, "Hi Y/N, any recommendations for me?" His eyebrow shot up at my sentence, probably surprised I knew his name. "If you'd like to try something new, I'd recommend Teh C, Hot Milk Tea with Evaporated milk. That would be 1300 won." "Sounds great" I said back with a smile as I handed over the money.
"Teh C for Jennifer!"
As I settled back into my seat, I took a sip of the beverage. While it wasn't exactly my preferred drink, as I would prefer iced drinks, this tastes great, as I shot a thumbs up at Y/N. I then went down the rabbit hole of coding.
Two Hours later
"What is wrong with this godforsaken code!!!" I said as I facepalmed. I had run the same code almost 10 times over, but nothing changed, and even after various bouts of debugging, which has frustrated me to no end. I tried once again to focus on my work, before something broke me out of my focus
"Teh C for Jennifer!" Huh? I didn't order a drink. I looked quizzically at Y/N, who simply set the drink down and walked back to making beverages. I went up to collect the drink, as I shouted a "Thanks" to Y/N, and then I noticed something curious. A small piece of paper, the words scribbled on it, "Your recursive loop is missing a base case, Logic error=No error popup" I stared at the paper, wide eyed as I quickly ran back to my computer, and there it was. I actually forgot to implement a base case. I quickly coded it in, and just like that, the problems I had poofed away, just like that. How did he do that? WAIT, how did he know what my code was doing? Looking around at the cafe, I found that I was the only one left in the cafe. I walked up to the counter, saying, "Hi, Y/N, I was wondering, could we talk a little?" Hearing that, he turned around with a bland face once again, "I'm working." I looked around the cafe, before looking back at him. "Point taken, what do you want." "I was wondering, how did you know the problem with my code?" "I'm just that good." He said with a smirk, as I rolled my eyes "Serious." "I've been coding for more than 10 years now, one glance at your code and it was so obvious that there wasn't a base case." Wow, he was good. "So, I was wondering, is it possible for you to tutor me a little? Of course when there are customers, you can go to work, but if the shop is empty or you're free, you could come over and assist or teach me some stuff. This way, you get a very loyal customer who orders a steady flow of drinks, and you can earn a little money too?" "Fine." Y/N said, as he stepped out from behind his booth. I happily got back to my computer, I could probably pass this time!
Time flew as Y/N started tutoring me. After looking through my code, He actually retaught me everything about coding "So uncivilized." He grumbled as he looked through a piece of code. Surprisingly, he was infinitely better than my professor. He broke down many complex concepts into small edible and basic concepts. 'He's so cute when he's focused' "And that's all of my work for the day. Finished it way faster than I expected, Thanks alot Y/N! You're an amazing teacher." I said, smiling brightly, and gratefully, at my savior. He shot back a small smile, saying, "Thank you for the business, have a good rest of your day." "Y/N, here's your money." I said as I pulled out some money, before getting interrupted "It's on the house, hope to see you soon." I was a little embarrassed, but bowed to him, thanking him for his generosity, and blushed a little. God he's so cute
Third person's POV
As Y/N looked around his cafe, he saw his last few customers finish their beverages. Seeing that, he set a sign on the table "Cashier on break for 10 minutes." He went into his small break room, sitting down and getting some shut eye. He was then violently woken up by the consecutive ringing of a bell, as he shot up from his bed. 'Wait, how?' He thought as he rushed up to the counter to see a slightly annoyed customer, also looking at the clock and seeing that he had slept for an hour! "I'm so sorry Sir, this drink is on the house." The man grunted in response, as Y/N took his order
He couldn't shake his confusion though, as he struggled to comprehend what had happened.
'Was it because of...her?'
'The nightmare didn't come...... She didn't come'

Fun fact: "isle" and "island" don't share a common ancestor!
"Island" comes through Old English, from the words for "water" and "land." "Water" in Old English was "eeg," thus "eegland." By Middle English the g had been dropped, leaving "eeland," which became "iland."
When the French heard the word, though, they thought it was related to their word "isle" (Modern French île--the accent circonflex in French almost always indicates that there was an s in the older form of the word, like "être" from "estre," "hôte" from "hoste," and "hôpital" from "hospital"), which derives from Latin "insula," and figured those dumb English people had just forgotten the s. Thus it came to be written down as "island."
The pronunciation didn't change, though, except for the /i/ becoming /ai/ (more or less, I don't feel like googling IPA symbols) with the Great Vowel Shift.
And that's why the s in "island" is silent: it wasn't supposed to be there in the first place!

Tumblr media
You came to love the smell of parchment and books. The sound of pages being turned, the feeling of a new book in your hands. You loved them because it made you think of Hermione.
Merlin, you were infatuated with everything about her. The excitement in her voice when she talked about her favorite books, the small paper cuts on her fingers from turning the pages – she didn't mind them as it was normal for her – and the look on her face when she received praise from professors.
She was all you thought about and you wanted to go to the top of the Astronomy Tower and yell out "I LOVE HERMIONE JEAN GRANGER" for the whole school to hear. And you were positive she felt the same. Hermione would refuse to let go of your hands when you walked together from class and on some occasions, you'd catch her staring at you during study sessions. Just like she was doing now.
"Miss Granger, for the last time, I am asking you what are the contents of polyjuice potion?" Snape was hovered over her desk. Hermione jumped in her seat and turned to face the brooding professor. Your Slytherin housemates who sat at the back of class laughed at her startled state as she named the contents. You looked back and glared at them all. When Snape left your table and continued his lecture, you leaned closer to Hermione and whispered as low as you could, “Are you okay? You seem kind of distracted,” you noticed.
“Y-yes, I'm fine,” Hermione stuttered. Snape excused the class and Hermione waited for you to be done packing your things just so she could hold your hand to the Great Hall. “Are we still going to Hogsmeade on Saturday?” you asked.
“Harry’s got detention with McGonagall for ‘ accidentally’ turning Crabbe into a water goblet in class,” Hermione used her free hand to make air quotations, “and Ron’s busy with Lavender that day.” She had a sad look on her face, thinking that they wouldn't be able to go to Hogsmeade after all. You picked up on it and had an idea. “So, just the two of us then?”
Hermione’s chest became warm, “Okay. It's a date.” Your eyes slightly bulged out and to Hermione, you had an indistinguishable smile, “I mean, not like a date date, but a girls date.” You weren't sure if she meant it like that, but you laughed at her stumbling her words. The always composed girl becoming a cute, blubbering mess for you. Not that you knew for sure it was because for you but you’d given it a lot of thought.
She never held Harry’s hand like she did yours unless he was upset about something and she was comforting him. And she certainly never held Ron’s hand. Nor does she ever hug him knowing Lavender would go ballistic. Not that she’d ever want to. He was her best friend, yeah but she had never gotten used to it. They both had an unspoken thing to not hug.
“Sounds fun,” you chirped, “can’t wait for it.” You gave her a lingering hug before going to your table. You sat in between your best friends Pansy and Daphne. Pansy had a smirk on her lips once you were in her line of sight, “Did you finally tell Granger?” You knew what she was talking about and nudged her arm with your elbow, “Shut it.” The two girls chuckled and gave each other knowing looks. “I might tell her on Saturday,” you disclosed.
They had matching shocked faces; for nearly a year, they’ve watched you pace around their shared dorm debate with yourself whether or not to tell her about how you feel. You’d have a sparkle in your eyes every time you talked about her and nearly spent every day with her. They weren't upset about it. In fact, they couldn't wait to see you two together. But you were unexpectedly insecure by thinking of the worst case scenario in which she’d reject you.
“That’s great, Y/N/N. I’m so happy for you. I know everything will turn out well,” Daphne supported. Pansy nodded and pointed to Daphne as to say ‘Me too’. You grabbed the hands of both girls and held them tightly, “Thanks, girls. I love you guys.” You wrapped an arm around both of them and brought them in for a hug. Daphne returned it while Pansy made a fake coughing sound. “I can’t b-breathe,” she exaggerates. You held on for a couple seconds more before letting go and started eating. “Okay, so how is this happening?” Pansy asked.
“We’re going to Hogsmeade together on Saturday,” you inquired. “So the whole lot is going as well?” Pansy was talking about Harry and Ron of course.
“No, just the two of us alone,” you replied, taking a bite of the chicken on your plate.
“You mean, this is a date?” Daphne exclaimed. “We’re going to help pick an outfit, no questions asked.” She had a stern look that dared you to talk back. As sweet as Daphne is, once her mind is set to something, she doesn't budge. You accepted it and was met with her usual warm smile. Inside, you were ecstatic and couldn't wait for Saturday. Your crush has gone on for too long, and you were tired of waiting.
:。・:*:・゚’★,。・:*:・゚’☆
Your dorm mates got you up at the crack of dawn. And by crack of dawn, it was actually 10 am at most. They made you change into every outfit they picked out which totaled in 8. You appreciated everything they were doing, but some of the outfits were too much for a day in Hogsmeade. Daphne picked out tennis skirts with cropped argyle sweaters. Pansy picked short dresses that stopped at your mid-thigh and black wool turtlenecks to go over them. They had completely different aesthetics which is what probably made them perfect friends.
You settled on something casual; a thick striped long sleeve polo with light blue jeans and white trainers. It was going to be a nice spring day and you didn't want to wear something that would be too short and you get cold later. Daphne did your hair in two French plaits and Pansy did your makeup modestly. Once you were done, it was noon and you rushed to meet Hermione for your ‘girl date’.
She took the air straight from your lungs. She looked more breathtaking than the night of the Yule Ball. You distinctly remember being incredibly jealous of Viktor Krum and beat yourself up for not asking her before he did. But now, if he was here, you were sure that the famous Quidditch athlete would be jealous of you.
Hermione’s usually wild hair was tamed into smooth wavy curls that framed her delicate face. She wore a floral print button up that was definitely new as you’ve never seen it before. Or did she save it just for you? Her navy jeans hugged her ankles and she donned light pink flats. And probably for the first time since the Yule Ball, she had mascara and lipgloss on. Casual, but perfect.
Your face was flushed, and you weren't sure if she was also blushing or if maybe she was just wearing blush. “Shall we?” You reached out to grab her hands – her soft hands – and waited for her response. She didn't say anything when she laced her fingers with yours and started walking on the path to Hogsmeade. Hermione was about to say that you looked pretty when she tripped over a small rock on the pathway. “Are you okay?” you expressed concern. She was still holding onto your hand as she steadied herself up, “Yeah, I’m fine.”
:。・:*:・゚’★,。・:*:・゚’☆
You snorted and had to hold the butterbeer in your mouth, “Ron did what?” Hermione laughed as she told you how Lavender exploded on Ron for forgetting their anniversary and when he tried to make it up by giving her chocolates that he got from his older brothers, Lavender instantly grew a huge chin that drooped over her neck. Ron had gotten so mad at them and in unison, they told him ‘Why’d you think we’d ever give you real ones?’
“So that’s why no one has seen her for a couple days!” you noted. She was nodding as she laughed. You could only imagine what it was like to see it in person. Poor Lav. You went back and forth talking about whatever went on since the last time you were together.
Hermione went on talking about a new book she read about over the winter holiday. The way she expressed her emotions and passion for it made you fall for the Gryffindor girl more. When you hadn't said anything, she stopped and lowered her head, “I’m boring you, aren't I?”
You sat straight in your chair and fumbled your words before reaching out to grab her hand from across the table, “No, no, no, of course not. I could never be bored of you, I love you.” Your eyes widened. You didn't exactly expect to let it slip out like that, but you studied her reaction to see if you could leave it at that or otherwise. She sat still with a poker face. “Y-you’re my best friend, Mione–”
“I love you, too,” she confessed. “Huh?” Please, please, please tell me I heard her right. You didn't get to fully process what she said because after a few seconds, she gathered all her courage and reached over the table to give you a quick peck on your lips. It would've been a sweet moment hadn't she accidentally knocked her glass over in the process. Everyone in the Three Broomsticks had their eyes on you, Hermione’s face beet red and lowered out of embarrassment. You tried cleaning the mess and out of nowhere, Hermione ran out. Fuck this you thought as you ran after her.
“Mione, wait!” She hadn't gone far and luckily for you, she listened. Her cheeks were rosy and her eyes averted from yours. “Where are you going? Aren’t we on a date?” Confidence had finally kicked in when you asked her. Hermione’s breath hitched. She couldn't see anything in your face that showed you were joking. Because you weren't. “Yes,” she grabbed your hands and started walking towards the other shops in the small village. Until once again, she nearly fell back when she nearly slipped over another rock on the ground. You supported her back up and giggled, “You’re so clumsy.”

I'm sending this to multiple authors because I just think this is fun but: Imagine Levihan and a blooming romance set at your current job/current course
It all starts with a physiology lecture.
Levi arrives to the auditorium only a minute later than usual, but his place is already taken by a bearded asshole in glasses. Arguing with Zeke isn't his favorite past time, but an acute necessity, and Levi debates if he should throw the asshole out of his seat, but professor enters the room just a second later, and so he has no choice but to find another seat.
The only available one is at the front of the auditorium, and Levi cringes as he realizes it. The front of the auditorium is always occupied by the same few people - the star of the course Hange Zoe and her squad of brainiac nerds.
All of them are notorious for their smart remarks and additions, but no one is quite as annoyingly good at it as Hange Zoe. Her answers are always unnecessarily lengthy and complicated, and she amazes every professor she comes across.
Levi is as annoyed by her loud personality, as he is fascinated by her dedication to the studies.
But he never approached her, never exchanged with her even a single 'hi' or 'do you have the copy of last lecture'. And so the prospect of sitting down next to her makes him more than a little bit nervous.
But professor clears his throat, urging Levi to move. He grits his teeth, but surrenders to his fate and takes a seat just at the edge of a row.
Hange shoots him a quick smile, but then turns her attention to the lecture and doesn't bother him until the very end.
Levi escapes the auditorium as soon as the lecture ends, and hopes this beginning was the end of his and Hange Zoe's relationship.
At the next lecture, he finds out he was wrong.
He makes sure to come early, so Zeke won't take his place once again. And he succeeds - Zeke isn't there.
However... Hange Zoe is.
"Hi!" she waves her hand energetically, her smile far too wide and bright for 8 AM lecture. "You don't mind me sitting here? I liked sitting next to you last time."
Levi doesn't quite understand what Hange liked about last lecture since they haven't exchanged a single word, but her open, friendly face and big eyes quickly render him unable to reject her offer.
"Just keep quiet, four-eyes," he mutters and takes a seat next to her.
And that's how it truly begins. The physiology curse ends and biochemistry starts, and Hange sits next to him there as well.
Soon she starts inviting him to study sessions and house parties, and, even though, he doesn't accept these invitations, Hange still somehow manages to get his phone number, and then begins to bother him even on weekends.
One night, after Levi just tumbles inside his room after a shift at the hospital, he receives a text with a link to some article. He makes a mental note to read it - he rarely replies to texts from Hange, but he always reads them, however as soon as he comes out of the shower, he falls asleep, overcome with exhaustion.
Next morning, he wakes up later than usual, so he doesn't have the time to read the article before his first class. He hopes Hange won't ask him about it, he'd feel bad about ignoring her, but when he comes to his first lecture, he finds Hange already in their usual place, an excited look on her face.
"Good morning!" she greets, as always far too cheerful for a morning class.
Levi grunts something noncommittal and sits down next to her.
There are a few more minutes before the class starts, and Levi entertains himself with sorting out his textbooks. He remembers the article Hange sent him, but reading it while she sits so close might seem rude. So he does nothing, and stares at the front of the auditorium, waiting for the professor to show up.
Out of the corner of his eyes, he sees Hange shift and fidget, more restless than usually. He wants to snap and ask her to stop, but then Hange leans a bit closer, and whispers,
"Hey, Levi, I think our HLA aren't compatible."
Levi frowns and looks up at her, surprised to find that her face is all red.
"What?" he murmurs, utterly confused.
The red on her face becomes even brighter. "I said..."
"I've heard what you said," Levi grits, for some reason feeling just as embarrassed as Hange looks. "I just don't get what you meant by it."
"Oh..." Hange's face falls. "You haven't read the article. Oh, now this is awkward," she chuckles, scratching the back of her head. "Then, um, forget I said anything."
Levi wants to protest, he doesn't want to forget, he wants to find out what made Hange look so shy, but in that exact moment professor enters the room, and he has no choice but to keep quiet.
His curiosity is far from quiet, though, and unable to stop himself, Levi takes out his phone and opens that article.
Not paying attention to the lecture makes him feel awful, but Levi needs to know the reason for Hange's behavior. Besides, he tries to bargain with himself, the article is somewhat linked to microbiology, so technically he doesn't ignore the lecture completely.
The article Hange sent to him is about a study that focused on the importance of human leucocyte antigen and its many variables that appeared after years of battling with various pathogens. It also demonstrated that people are more inclined to find themselves an HLA dissimilar partner and that relationship tend to be more prosperous if partners share only a few of HLA alleles.
And Hange said their HLA weren't compatible... Oh. Now Levi feels his own cheeks heat up.
He reads the article a few more times, making sure that he understood everything correctly.
Then he turns his gaze towards Hange who refuses to even glance in his direction. The time moves with a speed of a snail, and when the professor finally announces the end of a class, Levi exhales in relief.
He had a whole hour to gather his thoughts and think of his next words, but they scatter, when Hange bolts up from her seat and starts frantically packing her belongings.
"Hey..." Levi calls, but Hange doesn't seem to hear him, or, more probably, tries her best to ignore him. "Hey, Hange..." he tries again, but Hange doesn't stop.
Bolder actions need to be implemented, and so Levi raises up too, holding Hange back by the sleeve of her shirt. "Four-eyes..." he begins, forcing himself to swallow his nervousness. "Sorry for not reading the article yesterday, but..." he clears his throat and locks his gaze with Hange. It's good to know that she looks just as flustered as he himself feels. "I think you're right. Based on what I feel, our HLA seem to be mostly dissimilar."
"Oh..." Hange looks lost for no more than a second, Levi envies her composure. A big grin blooms on her face almost instantly, and her eyes fill with joy. "We can discuss it further, if you want... Maybe, have a small study session."
"And go out for coffee," Levi adds, feeling just a little bolder. "I know a great place."
"Mm," Hange bites her lip, glancing at her wrist watch. "I have another class soon, but I'm free after that."
"Alright," Levi says, his mouth twitching in an attempt to hide his smile. "I'll be waiting for you then."
"Great!" Hange laughs, squeezes his shoulder and hurries away. She walks with a spring in her step, and just before exiting the room, she turns around and shoots Levi another happy smile.
"Dork," Levi mutters, as he watches Hange almost collide with another student.
As he gets out of the auditorium at a more slower pace than Hange, he takes out his phone and opens the browser. Perhaps, he should find an article for Hange to enjoy too.
Perhaps, it would allow him not just join her for a study session, but have her agree to a date with him.
Either way, Levi is eager to find out how his story with Hange Zoe will progress.

In My Reality | Chapter 1: Dreams & Wishes
Yo, I finally finished the actual first chapter of this new series! I originally wanted to get this out within a week of the prologue’s release but this turned out to be longer than I imagined. All of my TLC went into this for the past three weeks, I haven’t felt this passionate for a project in a long time. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do! ^-^

"Geez [n/n], you look so tired," Kamida pointed out. "Did you get any sleep last night?"
"Yeah, I did," I told them before a yawn escaped my mouth. "Just not as much as I wanted."
The three of us were standing at one of the local bus stops that took us downtown. It was our usual meeting spot since it crossed paths with the sidewalks that led us to our houses. We were heading to the arcade, our pockets filled with coins and our phones. The two artists were awake and ready but I on the other hand wished I stayed in bed.
"Oh?" Kamida quirked a brow.
"Did you go to sleep when we ended the call?" Meri-chan questioned, narrowing her eyes at me. 'Course in my sleepy state, I wasn't bothered by her laser stare.
"No-"
"[Name]!"
"Look, I wasn't ready to fall asleep at the time. Can you blame me?" I asked only to receive a sigh for an answer. "I didn't stay up too late anyway-"
"When?"
"When what?"
"When do you go to sleep?" Meri-chan inquired, placing her hands on her hips.
'Playing the mom friend, are we now?' I thought to myself. 'At least I don't have to deal with the teasing wingman.'
"Around 2 in the morning," I mumbled.
"[Name]!"
"What did you even do during that time?" Kamida asked, saving me from Meri-chan's lecture.
"I just watched the twins' episodes from Juuni Taisen." I noticed Meri-chan was about to go on again so I added, "Hey, at least I didn't watch the entire series."
"That's not the point," Meri-chan stated. I just shrugged in response.
"You really love those two, don't you," Kamida asked me.
"Yup."
I lost track of how many times I rewatched their episodes long ago. While rewatching the entire Anime is great, I didn't have the patience to go through six other episodes before seeing my favourite twins. I then just kept replaying the twins' episodes, eventually losing track of how many times I did. It's just that every time I watch the two episodes, the more I felt I could understand them. It made them seem as if they were real, but the reality is that they're not and I have to remember that. That doesn't stop my dreams though, speaking of my dreams...
"You know, I had an unusual dream last night," I told my friends. "It wasn't like the rest of my dreams that were strange and went all over the place. This dream it... it was of the Tatsumi Brothers but- but it was alternate ending with them." I left out the description of what happened because it'd spoil the Anime for Kamida, and I didn't want to do that.
"What do you mean by 'alternate ending'?" Meri-chan inquired, raising a brow.
"Like it was the ending of Juuni Taisen but different," I answered. "It just- it looked so real! It felt like I was actually watching the Anime until I woke up. You get what I'm saying?"
"Ummm, no," Meri-chan responded, sounding puzzled.
"Really?" I deadpanned.
"I get what you're saying," Kamida piped, pushing his glasses up for the Anime effect. My brow raised in question as to what his next words would be. "You're saying you're obsessed with the two to the point you dream of them!" He stated, pointing an index finger at me.
"Ack-! No!"
"Relax [n/n]," Kamida laughed. "I'm just messing with ya."
"Ha ha..." I let out before another yawn escapes.
"Man, you really are tired."
"I think the dream took my energy," I theorized, rubbing my eyes to stay open. Just as the words left my mouth, we all caught a glimpse of the approaching city bus. I don't know if it was just me but the thing seemed to be taking its sweet time to get to the bus stop.
"It's okay, [Name]. You can take a nap on the bus," Meri-chan told me as the bus came to a stop. "We'll wake you up when we're at the stop near the arcade."
"Alright."
Following my friends, I stepped onto the bus. It wasn't crowded, which made sense considering most people were still working at 2 in the afternoon. Kamida found a set of seats for all of us and sat down, Meri-chan sat next to him, then I plopped down in the seat next to her. Adjusting my position to try and get comfortable enough to fall asleep, I tilted my head to the side and let my eyes fall shut. Soon enough, I had drifted into sleep.

"Is that thing any good?" Nagayuki asked his younger brother, watching him eat the deceased, cooked lizard.
"Yeah, it's awesome!" Takeyasu's sarcasm dripped with venom as his teeth tried to tear the scaled arm. "What do you think?"
The elder twin just blankly stared at his brother. Silence filled the air around them, but the sound of the younger twin eating his dead pet prevented the silence from taking over the scene. That was until the echo of a knock on their door emitted into their ears.
In sync, they both turned their attention to the door wondering who'd come to the door at this hour aside from a delivery man, but it wouldn't make sense for it to be a delivery man. Neither of them had ordered anything. The two gave each other a glance of uncertainty before Nagayuki let out a sigh, pinching the tip of his nose.
"I'll answer it," he stated as he approached the front door.
"Alright." Takeyasu reached over and grabbed his weapon, pulling it close for easy access, just in case.
The feeling around them pulled the twins towards the edge as eerie vines grew in the room. Masking his expression, Nagayuki slowly twisted the knob and partially opened the door. He briefly eyes the person standing on the other side.
It was a man with a top hat, grey hair tied back into a ponytail, facial hair, and the structure of his face made him seem elderly. He wore a black long coat with a grey scarf and white gloves. By this alone, the elder Tatsumi brother was able to tell this man dressed to blend into the shadows and meant business. Something else emitted from the man, it seemed to be supernatural. If it had been a normal person answering the door, they would've brushed the feeling off as if it was nothing because they don't believe in it, but Nagayuki knew the supernatural existed because he was living proof. That said, he grew cautious, thinking carefully of his next actions.
"Can I help you?" Nagayuki asked the man with a stoic face.
"I do believe this is the household of the Tatsumi brothers, Nagayuki and Takeyasu, if my sources are correct," the man spoke with an unreadable smile.
"So what if it is?"
"My name is Duodecuple," the man introduced himself. "I am from the Juuni Taisen organization."
Nagayuki raised a brow, suspicious of this mysterious person. When the head of the dragon and snake household explained how the Juuni Taisen contacted you the instructions of how to get to the location, they sent a letter in a red envelope with gold wax as its seal, and it was delivered through the mail. Why was this man here?
"Are you?" Nagayuki questioned. "Do you have any proof to back up that claim of yours?"
"I figured you would say something like that," Duodecuple said, his gloved-hand reached into his coat and pulled out a red envelope with a golden seal, handing it to Nagayuki.
Taking it from the man, the elder Tsumita twin opened the letter and thoroughly read the message written. Sure enough, this was legit. Glancing back at the man, still with a hint of suspicion, Nagayuki folded the letter and placed it back in the envelope before handing it back to him.
"Alright, so why are you here exactly? Last time I checked, you don't escort the warriors to the Juuni Taisen."
"While that is indeed true, I am here on the behave of a wish someone made. A wish that you and your brother wouldn't partake in the Juuni Taisen."
Takeyasu, who was listening to the conversation nearby, swung the door open and fired his weapon at the man. In his mind, that statement is something said before another person is killed. Not necessarily a threat, but even so it wasn't something to take lightly. He wasn't taking the risk of his brother being killed.
Nagayuki hardly had any time to react before his brother started burning the person in front of them. Part of him wanted to scold his brother for acting impulsively, but gratitude is the feeling that stirred inside him. He became unsettled after what the man said, and if it wasn't for Takeyasu, there was a chance the walls would've been stained with blood. However, he should stop his brother before they burn down the apartment building, he doesn't want to have to move again.
"Alright, that's enough, Takeyasu," Nagayuki told his twin, putting a hand on the younger one's shoulder. As the final remains of ember faded away after Takeyasu had stopped, both twins saw that no evidence was left behind of the man. "You really got him good..." Nagayuki stated, almost in disbelief.
"I do believe it is considered rude to try to kill someone before they finish what they are saying." Duodecuple's voice lurked behind them. The two flinched and spun around to discover the man standing there with no trail of smoke or ash on him as if he never had made contact with the fire. "But since you are warriors, I suppose that is an exception."
"I'd like to see you try and avoid this!"
"Wait-" Nagayuki tried to stop his brother from making any haste moves but his brother slithered quickly and tried to attack the old man with physical combat.
From the way the man never flinched and stood his ground, Nagayuki knew something was up. Sure enough, when Takeyasu struck he phased right through. Surprised by this, Takeyasu barely had time to recover and stumbled to catch himself. Once he steadied himself, he looked back to the elder man with narrowed eyes, growling.
"Now, now, I don't mean to bring any harm," Duodecuple reassured the two, holding up one of his gloved hands to gesture he meant no harm. "I am just here to fulfill a wish..." he paused for a brief moment to lower his hand. "Three wishes actually."
"Huh?" Both Tatsumi brothers spoke in sync, confused. Why would there be three wishes that involved them?
"By your tone, I am sure you are confused. I do not blame you however, even if you remembered your own wish you still would not know where the third one came from."
The twins' eyes glanced at each other before going back to the man. If they had made their wish and Duodecuple was here to grant it then that means they were already in the Juuni Taisen and won. What didn't make sense was how did they both win? Did something change where they could both win? If that was the case, why was Duodecuple here before the Juuni Taisen even started? Then there was still the third wish that didn't fit in the picture.
"Since it is not possible for the two of you to avoid the Juuni Taisen while in this plane of existence, our organizers thought it would be best to move you to another. And since the organizers are generous, they thought to grant another wish that would benefit both you and the wisher."
Once again, the Tatsumi brothers shared a look. Both unsure if there was a catch, and both having a lot of questions running through their minds. This entire situation seemed to be too good to be true then again, it was the Juuni Taisen. From what the twins heard, they made anything possible, the power they have is unimaginable.  Still, better to find out now.
"Is there anything else we should know about?" Nagayuki inquired.
"You will be living with the wisher," Duodecuple informed them. "As I said, it is a win-win situation. You will be informed of the new plane and you will have a new place to stay, it makes things more convenient."
"Alright, so we get our wish granted and a new roommate." Takeyasu turned his gaze to his brother, a smirk on his face. "It doesn't seem all that bad."
"I am glad to hear that. That being said, you have seven hours to pack everything you need before you are escorted to your new home," Duodecuple told them, taking off his hat and bowing. His form began to pixelate away until the air was the only thing that remained where the mysterious hologram once stood.

"[Name], wake up," Meri-chan whispered, nudging me awake. "We're here."
"Huh? Oh, right," I mumbled before a yawn escaped my mouth as I rose to my feet.
Once the three of us had walked off the bus, I stretched my stiff limbs. Satisfaction filled me as the musical sound of my bones cracking played through my ears. I was on that bus for too long, but if that meant I got more sleep, I didn't mind. However, I still wished I had been sleeping, for one I still felt like I needed more rest, and two, I wanted to continue the dream I had. It felt real like the one I dreamt the night before, just as if I was watching Juuni Taisen. I found it rather strange that twice in a row I had a dream like that.
"Feeling more awake now, [n/n]?" Kamida asked me.
"Kinda," I answered honestly before I drew a smirk on my face. "Awake enough to be able to beat you at Street Fighter!" I told him, poking his arm then picked up my feet and dashed towards the building.
"Oh no, you don't!" Kamida shouted, sprinting after me.
"Hey, no fair! You guys got a head start!" Meri-chan complained, following behind, trying to keep up.
'Course, it didn't take long before Kamida was running ahead of me, he had the height advance. Kamida is taller than both me and Meri-chan, and I am taller than Meri-chan which leaves her as the shortest out of our trio. That said, it was the order in which we all arrived at the arcade's main doors. Laughter emerged from us as we stumble at the front entrance.
"You guys are so slow," Kamida jeered.
"Yeah, yeah." I waved it off with a hand before strolling over and opening the door. "After you."
"As the wingman, I insist you go first," he stated holding the door open.
"Fine." I stepped into the world of entertainment and scanned the dark place where black and neon lights hung from. Only a few kids were here today, which means more gameplay for us! "Alright!" I thought out loud.
"Hey [n/n]-chan," Meri-chan addressed me, catching my attention. "Let's play a round of air hockey."
"Yeah- we can do our match later Kamida," I told him, still wanting to do that duel.
"Cool, I'll just be playing Space Invaders over here," he said before walking away.
"Alright, Meri-chan." My hand fished out a dollar from my pocket and inserted it in the coin slot, activating the machine. Taking the puck from the goal and placing it on the table, I put on my game face. "First to ten wins."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Aw man," I groaned, seeing my Pac-man die for 4th time playing this multiplayer game.
"You're off your game today," Kamida commented as his eyes focus on the screen, trying not to get eaten by Meri-chan's red Pac-man.
"Gee, I wonder what makes you think that." I playfully rolled my eyes, chuckling as I saw Kamida's blue Pac-man get eaten.
"Dang it!"
"Haha!" Meri-chan cheered in victory, throwing her hands in the air.
I felt a smile form on my face seeing my friends act the way they did, but my mind couldn't help but focus on the dreams I had earlier. They were stuck bouncing around my loop of thoughts, perhaps that's why I was off my game. Who can blame me though? It's not like I get these dreams every day so the fact they happen was a puzzle itself, maybe if they happened more often I wouldn't be so distracted.
"Well darn, it's 5:10." Meri-chan's statement caused me to get off my train of thought.
"Shoot, I'm supposed to be home by 6," I told them.
"And I'm supposed to be cooking dinner tonight for me and my little brother," Kamida grumbled as he dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone.
"Should we leave now and catch the next bus?" Meri-chan asked, her eyes looking at us after her phone was put back in her pocket.
"Yeah, the next bus arrives in 15 minutes," Kamida informed us, checking the bus schedule.
"Let's get going then," I said leading the way out of the arcade. Stepping outside after being inside that dim-lit building burned my eyes. My hands shot up to block the setting sun as I let out a snake-like hiss, taking a few steps back.
"Hhhhh, why couldn't it be night when we left?" Meri-chan complained, getting the same effect.
"I don't know, I don't control time," Kamida replied to her squinting his eyes to try and adjust back to the normal lighting. "Come on guys, we don't have much time before the bus gets to the stop."
"Right," I nodded, setting my hands in my jacket pockets after my eyes were used to the lighting, following the others.
"You guys wanna do this again tomorrow?" Meri-chan asked, starting conversation as we strolled to the bus stop.
"I already have stuff going on tomorrow," I lied. It's not that I didn't want to spend time with them, I just didn't want to go outside until I have to go back to school.
"And I'm going to be at my grandparents for the next three days. That's why I said we should hang out today," Kamida explained.
"Oh, that's alright. We can always voice chat at night," Meri-chan optimized.
"Yeah." A yawn escaped from my mouth once again. 'Man, I really do need sleep.'
"[n/n], you should take a nap when you get home."
"I will, I will," I grumbled. 'After I take a shower.'
I probably won't remember to take a nap when I get home, cause with showering and then dinner practically ready when I'm finished, the thought will be lost in my head. Not to mention my dreams are what have been occupying my mind. Usually, they don't, but I believe I'm still grasping onto them since I don't want them to slip away.
'What do the dreams mean?' It appeared too real to be just a normal dream but to call it a vision would absurd. Visions are stuff that happened, will happen, or a sort of warning, at least that's how it is in movies. The closest thing I ever get to a vision is the random flashes of deja vu I receive. Perhaps I'm overthinking this, maybe I'm just having proper dreams for once. Yeah, that's probably it, I-
"Whoa there, [n/n]!" Kamida grasped my hood to prevent me from walking any further.
"Huh?" I voiced, confused by his actions, I turned my head to him and gave him a "Why did you do that?" expression.
"We're at the bus stop, dummy," Meri-chan informed me.
"Oh, oops." I sweatdropped as I stood beside them.
"We're just in time too," Kamida pointed out as he watched the bus drive towards the stop.
One by one, we stepped onto the bus. I noticed the number of people taking this transportation has grown since it's at an hour where most people get off work, luckily there was still a three-seat row open for us. My legs took haste to snatch the spot before it could be in someone's possession, then I plopped down onto the window seat. By the time I had shifted into a comfortable yet civil sitting position, my friends had joined me. Kamida next to me and Meri-chan sitting on his other side.
Vines of silence grew around us so we didn't disturb anyone lurking in our surroundings. I wasn't phased by the lack of conversation, taking the opportunity to gaze at the modern buildings the bus drove by and dive further into the waters of my mind. Going through the catalogue of my memory, I searched for the recent dream I had and play it once I had found it. Something felt out of place in that dream, and it wasn't just because the scenario differed from the canon result of the flashback in episode 8 of Juuni Taisen. The fact Duodecuple stated he came to fulfill three wishes and not two didn't make sense.
If I connected the dots correctly, the first two wishes were Nagayuki and Takeyasu's wish to not partake in the Juuni Taisen, but then where did the third wish come from? Why would there be a third wish? Did I miss something in my first dream? Is it possible that if I slept a bit longer this morning I would've found out who made the third wish?
Multiple questions danced in my mind but they couldn't find any answers for them to waltz around with. After all, they were left in the mystic unknown, the only way they could return to the known land and find answers is if I returned to the dream realm, but there's no guarantee that it'll give me what I'm looking for. I highly doubt I'd be able to get another dream of the Tatsumi brothers again, my dreams have been generous enough to grant me two normal dreams in a row, I don't think they're going to give me a third. Still, it would be nice-
"[n/n], we're at our stop," Kamida informed me while waving a hand in front of my face.
"Uh-right... right," I responded and arose to my feet, following them out of the bus. Once outside, I brushed myself off, watching the bus drive out of view. Turning my attention to my friends, my hands set themselves in my jacket pockets. "So I guess I'll see you guys at school."
"{Yup|Yeah}," they answered at the same time.
"Alright, see ya then guys." I waved, beginning to stroll backwards in the direction of my house.
"Bye!"  Meri-chan exclaimed, waving.
"See ya." Kamida gave a small wave before turning and heading home.
I faced forward once we had disappeared in our path home, eyeing the slim light that emerged from the sun that is ready to be engulfed by the black night. My hand dug into my pocket and pulled out my phone, I needed to text my mom I was almost home. Turning on the device, I noticed I had two text messages, one from my mom and the other from my brother. I tapped on the notification and bypassed the lock screen to read the message my bro sent me.
"Hey, I'm going to a hangout at my friend's house.
Won't be back till morning"
"Looks like he made plans of his own," I thought out loud. "Guess that means no Code Geass tonight, but that also means I can rewatch Juuni Taisen." Drawing a smirk on my face, I chuckled before sending a response to my brother.
"Aight, cya tomorrow bro"
I waited for the message to load and confirm it was sent before tapping onto the text my mom sent.
"Just wanted to let you know your brother
is going over to his friend's place."
"Good to know."
"I'm almost home"
I turned off my phone once I had replied to her message, storing the device in my pocket. Mom always made sure to inform us whenever something came up, which I am grateful for. It helped me remember and keep track of things, they say "two heads are better than one" for a reason.
"Two heads..." I chuckled to myself when the Tsumita twins popped into my head once more. "Two heads that's been stuck in my mind all day."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sat down in my office chair once I had finished drying my hair, dressed in a simple t-shirt and cargo pants. Opening my laptop I hopped onto docs and clicked the option open a new document. It had been a while since I had written anything, my search for inspiration had been harder than trying to find water in a desert, but with the two dreams I had, I thought I could use it for the idea of a plot. Fidgeting with my bracelet, I tried to construct a starter for the story in my mind, but I found myself unable to find my way around writer's block.
Glancing down at the accessory hugging my wrist as if I asked for ideas, I didn't have any other options since no one was here beside me. I would call or text Meri-chan or Kamida but I knew I'd be heading down soon for dinner. I found no point in inquiring if they could talk if I had to disappear. Funny enough, the bracelet only reminded me of the Tatsumi brothers. I laughed to myself, wondering what the twins would say if they were here, I found the idea amusing. I became tempted to tear the material on my wrist to make my greatest wish a reality, to see if they could become real once I did, but common sense popped my fantasy bubble. This wasn't some Anime where a game master could grant my wish, such fictional desires weren't possible for me to achieve, but I wish it was.
Something in my gut kicked me, flying my head out of that sad mindset I didn't know I fell into. My eyes went back to the blank doc I had open on my laptop. I felt a spark begin to flicker, attempting to get the fire of creativity going. My hands hovered over the keys, words on the tip of my fingers-
"[Name], dinner is ready," mom told me on the other side of my closed door she knocked on.
"Dah!" Frustrated, my arms flew up and mimicked the action of flipping a table before they slammed down on the edge of my desk. "Just when I had something..." I groaned and hung my head back. My mood shifted quickly, realizing some brain food would be good. "Coming mom."
As I arose from my chair, my bracelet seemed off, but when I checked it, everything appeared to be fine. I shrugged off my instinct, believing I was imagining things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A yawn escaped my mouth after I heard the door to mom's room close, she went to bed since she had to work early. I was just chilling on the couch, my feet reclined up and any plans of writing had gone out the window once I had become one with the couch. I had the house somewhat to myself, considering my mom was now upstairs sleeping I couldn't do much.
I don't do things too exciting anyway, most times I just continued writing, or watch something on the tv which is what I'm doing now. Other times if my friends are available, I'd call them up and we'd discuss the fictional world. Then there was the rare occasion where I'd put on music and dance or vibe. It's relaxing me time.
Currently, Juuni Taisen played on the widescreen tv, already on the 11th episode. I don't know why, but it felt strange to watch it. I've seen these courses of events multiple times, each time understanding it more, why now do I receive this feeling? Perhaps the reason had to do with the dreams I had previously, with them appearing so real I guess coming back to what actually happened felt off to me. At least that was my thought process as I let out another yawn.
The 11th episode now halfway through and my eyes had begun to droop, feeling drowsy like Nezumi. The tv slowly turned into background noise when my tired mind began to pull me into the dream realm, my arms going limp to my sides as my eyes closed. The last audible thing I heard was Nezumi mentioning his 100 paths.
"Too bad my lizard died, I think he would've liked meeting a new face," Takeyasu remarked gazing at the empty reptile tank sitting on his shelf, taking a break from packing his duffle bags.
This all seemed surreal for Takeyasu, for months he was on edge and trying to distance himself from his brother so when they were in the Taisen it wouldn't be as painful to see him die, at least that was his thought process. It probably wouldn't have worked anyway, not when Nagayuki started to take the big brother role more seriously ever since they both found out one of them was going to die in the Juuni Taisen if the other were to win. Then this wish thing came along and now they're packing for their new life, it was a miracle this was happening. Part of Takeyasu imagined this is some cruel dream that he's in and reality is about to wake him up to see those red letters for him and his brother. He sure wished it wasn't his mind playing tricks on him.
"Hey, are you done packing?" Nagayuki questioned checking in, changed into his signature blue outfit.
"Almost, just gotta stash the rest of the money in there," the younger Tatsumi brother answered, going back to his task. "Do you think we can bring Hitokage and Yuki-onna?"
"I don't think that's the best idea, we don't know who our new roommate is going to be and what exactly they'll be okay with," Nagayuki stated, his hand grasping his chin as he began thinking out loud. "Normal people would probably freak out upon seeing two guys with a flamethrower and an icethrower. Still, if we have something to do with the third wish they must know who we are."
"Heh, I was just going to bring Hitokage anyway, regardless of your answer. You never know if we may need them."
Nagayuki rolled his eyes, knowing his brother would do something like that. His little bro had a point, however. They might need their weapons in this new place they're going, it'd probably give more use than the currency they were bringing with them. Both were unaware of where they were heading. Walking over, he looked inside one of Takeyasu's bags, small red rectangle boxes caught his eye and he picked one up.
"Really? You're taking your poker cards?"
"You say that like it's a question."
"Do you really need all of them?"
"Yeah, they're collector." Takeyasu stated his reason like it was obvious. The snake then cracked a smile. "At least I can reuse them unlike the bags of snacks you packed."
"Shut up." A faint blush appeared on Nagayuki's albino cheeks. "The flavours might not be available where we go, it's not like I'm going to eat them all in one go."
The little brother playfully snickered until the brief moment died down. A gentle silence sat between them, the only thing heard was Takeyasu stuffing items into the duffle bag. The elder Tatsumi brother glanced outside the room, considering if he should go check to see he had everything he needed and wasn't forgetting anything, but his bro caught his attention before he could decide.
"Hey..." Takeyasu started with a monotone, the mood in the room becoming heavy. That was a rare thing to happen among them, so he had his elder twin's full attention. "Did you ever think this would happen; Us not having to be apart of the Juuni Taisen?"
"I'm going to be honest with you, Takeyasu."
That was a phrase the younger Tsumita twin hadn't heard in a long time.
"I thought the Juuni Taisen was what our whole lives were leading up to, but I also thought the day would never come," Nagayuki spoke truthfully, his eyes gazed down at the floor. "I... just can't believe that it's not actually going to come, and how it never will..."
It grew quiet, the reality of what was happening finally settling in their minds. The reality neither of them was going to die. The reality neither of them had to kill the other. It was gone, the dark road was gone. They were free.
A laugh broke the silence, Nagayuki glance at his brother who had made the joyful sound.
"We don't have to play those bastards' game!" Takeyasu exclaimed, tackling his bro into a hug.
"Oof-" Nagayuki stumbled, not expecting the sudden embrace, but when he steadied himself he wrapped his arms around his baby brother. The burden of death has been lifted from their shoulders and they never felt more relieved. Tears of joy threatened to fall as the two hugged, knowing they wouldn't lose the other.
Before either could cry, an outsider cleared their throat. The moment now passed, the twins pulled away from the sibling hug to see Duodecuple there holding his hands behind his back.
"Are you both ready?" the man asked.
"Yeah, let me just get my bags," Nagayuki responded, moving past the elder man to get to his room.
Entering, the dragon went straight to retrieve the two duffle bags he packed. However, he ceased in his tracks when he turned to exit, spying the icethrower from the corner of his eye. He had originally planned to leave it, thinking it wasn't needed in his new life and unsure how their new roommate would feel about it, but since his little bro was taking his flamethrower what could it hurt to bring his weapon along?
"Besides, I don't I could get something like you out there, Yuki-onna," Nagayuki said, a smirk plastered on his face as he picked up the icethrower and put it on his back. He then grabbed his bags and left his now old room. Joining his brother's side in the main room, both face the mysterious man, holding their belongings.
"I hope you both are aware you are not heading to any warzones," Duodecuple told them, seeing how both Tatsumi brothers were carrying their weapons with them.
"Yeah, we know," Nagayuki stated blankly.
"But there's no way we're leaving these," Takeyasu added with a smug expression.
"I see." Duodecuple nodded, grabbing the rim of his top hat.
"So where are heading?" the elder Tatsumi brother asked.
"And how are we getting-"
Before the younger Tsumita twin could finish his question, Duodecuple had taken off his hat to bow, while doing so the brothers faded out of their reality.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
"No!" I cried, reaching out to the two, only to face the actual screen in front of me. "Oh... it was just another dream," I muttered to myself, grasping my forehead with my right hand.
I'm surprised I actually was granted a third dream of the Tatsumi brothers. I expected my brain not to be so generous, not that I'm complaining, I'm grateful for it. I wished I knew what happened to them though, maybe I'll find out in the next dream. I could get used to having them on my mind as I sleep.
Returning to the reality before me, I saw the episode had finished a while ago. My hand went to pick up the phone that laid on the couch beside me to check the time, but when I did I noticed my bracelet had broken beyond repair. I quickly sat up, picking up the remains of the lime bracelet and the few beads that were once on it.
"Shit, how'd it break?" I questioned, examing the pieces. "It was fine an hour ago, wasn't it?" Shaking my head, I knew it had to throw it in the trash, it was useless now.
I reclined my spot on the couch back down and stuffed my phone in my pocket. Holding the bits of my broken bracelet, I strolled over to the trashcan in the kitchen and dropped them in there. I felt disappointed, I actually enjoyed wearing that bracelet. Not only was it a gift from one of my best friends but it was something that reminded me of the Tatsumi brothers.
"Oh well, objects can't last forever," I mumbled to myself, recalling the day our Wii console stopped reading discs, on New Year's Day too no less.
Catching a glimpse of the time set on the oven, I figured I should head upstairs to my room. If I stayed downstairs for too long and went up late in the night, I'd give mom broken sleep. Probably best I'd head there now anyway if I wanted to get any writing done.
Going up the steps silently so I wouldn't disturb mom, headed to the next floor. My mind was in a whirlwind of different thoughts, but they were put to a pause when I heard voices. At first, I concluded it was just mom talking in her sleep again, however, I crossed it off since they sounded male. My next assumption was my brother but that wouldn't make sense since he wasn't home. Before the scary sensation of the situation settled into my mindset, I had reached the floor and the semi-audio voices sounded familiar to me. With that in mind, I crept down the hallway towards the sound and I realized it was coming from my room.
'Why would it be my room of all places?' I questioned in my head. 'I don't have anything worth stealing!' I turned around to go and find something to use to defend myself but I never took another step because that's when their sentences became audible.
"Too bad we didn't have more time to pack, I would've liked to bring my desktop set up with me."
'No way...' I thought to myself, slowly twisting my head towards my door with wide eyes.
"Don't sweat it, bro. You got the USB, that's all that matters."
'No fucking way!'
I didn't even realize I moved down the hall until my hand felt the cool metal of the doorknob that opened the door to my room. My brain hardly processing my actions, I twisted the handle and pushed open the door. The sight before me I could barely believe.
There standing in my room, in their full warrior gear, were the Tatsumi brothers.
In the moment of me just staring at their backs, I forgot how to fucking breathe. Then Takeyasu was the first to turn to me.
"Hey bro, I think our roommate is here," he told his brother, his signature smirk on his face.
"Huh?" Nagayuki turning attention to me, his icy gaze settling on my skin. "I think you're right."
The expression of the younger twin changed to a semi-worried one. "Hey, are you okay?-"
I wasn't able to hear the rest of his words because all the weight that once was in my head disappeared. I saw my surroundings grow taller and tilt horizontally, but then I felt something solid collide with my back and my vision dissolved to black. I realized that I fainted from disbelief.
I mean, this couldn't have been real right? I was sleeping only moments ago and I woke up to this? No, no, this couldn't be real. I'm probably just dreaming, right? Yeah, that's what I'm doing, dreaming. I'm just dreaming. I'll wake up on the couch and see that it was only a dream.
A little thing I wanted to write with @whatissleepeven 's oc, Musashi! Both ocs mentioned in this story use she/her pronouns.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"It'll only be for a day, but the both of you will still need to attend each other's classes at RAD. Can I trust you both to do so?"
Diavolo was quite eager to see how the two humans would fair living in each other's places for a day. He knew very well that they got along swimmingly, but he was curious to see how his dream was being lived out across multiple timelines. Of course, he could've had Barbatos just look into it, but he also wanted to know if there could be more for him to do.
"I wouldn't mind. What about you, Musashi?"
The shorter woman nodded her head.
"I think it could be fun."
"Great!" Diavolo clapped his large hands together. "We'll have your little exchange program due next week. Until then, Musashi, I'll have to bid you farewell."
She said her goodbyes to the demon prince and gave Aqua one last hug before returning to her timeline. In a week's time, the girls will switch places just to gain some information for the prince.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The time finally came and the demon brothers were nice enough to see Aqua to the entrance of the portal. She gave each of them a small hug, giving her Lucifer a small kiss on his cheek, and then she was ready to go. The girls saw each other in passing and gave each other a small high five for good luck before passing over.
Aqua reemerged inside of the demon prince's castle, and was immediately presented before those she had left behind, but they were a bit shorter than she remembered. These brothers were nice to her, but not as friendly as her own.
"Hello Aqua. Musashi told me all about your Diavolo's plans. It's nice that we finally get to meet."
He held his hand out for her to shake and she kindly took it in her own.
"The pleasure is all mine, my lord. I can only hope that my visit won't be too much of an inconvenience to you."
They dropped their handshake as he laughed. It was just just as booming as she remembered.
"Nonsense! I may be just as excited as my counterpart when it comes to how you uphold our goals."
He turned his attention to everyone in the room at that point.
"That being said, I hope you all of you will attend the student council meeting tomorrow. You included, Aqua."
Everyone in the room nodded in understanding.
"Good. Then, I'll leave you all to enjoy the rest of your night."
Aqua walked in between the pack of brothers as they traveled through the Devildom on their way back to the House of Lamentation. She sighed as she felt her stomach growl. She supposed that it was time for her to eat something.
"I'm hungry."
"Me too..." Said the orange-haired demon amongst them.
"We have food at home, Beel. Besides, you could probably make something for Aqua as well."
"What?" She felt slightly insulted.
"Come on, Luci! Me being here should be cause for celebration. Let's stop by Hell's Kitchen!"
It seemed like everyone else was in agreement, and majority rules (sorry Luci). He caved after about the 17th collective plea and the party of 8 picked up their dinner before making their way back home.
Aqua laid on the bed that belonged to Musashi and it still kept a bit of her scent. The smell reminded her greatly of the other and she took the time out of the empty night to send her a message.
Aqua: How is everything over there?
Musashi: It’s fine! What about you?
Aqua: Making my mark, as usual. The boys and I begged Luci to buy us some food😈
Musashi: Lol. We ended up having dinner at the castle, so we just got home not too long ago😌
Aqua: Lucky! Did he at least set up a mandatory meeting for you guys tomorrow?
Musashi: He did. I’m assuming you got the same?
Aqua: Yeah. But I’m just gonna take down some notes to take back to Diavolo
Musashi: It’s funny you say that cause I was just thinking the same thing! Ugh, our minds!🤯😌
Aqua: It’s cause we know each other so well🥰🥰
Musashi: Lol. Well, since I know you so well, you’re probably enjoying getting on Lucifer’s nerves huh??😏
Aqua: Not as much as you would enjoy h*lding h*nds with Mammon!😏
Musashi: GEE, WOULD YOU LOOK AT THE TIME!!! Good night Aqua!🥰💕💞💘
Aqua: Lmao, good night Musashi🥰💖💓💝
She chuckled softly as she placed her phone on the nightstand next to her. Tomorrow was set to be a pretty busy day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The classes she attended for the day were exactly as she remembers them, remarkably so. Doing the work was a breeze for her and nothing during the day really happened. Over all, it was amazing to say that it was a pretty normal day.
After her final class of the day, she walked with Satan and Belphie to the council room. They shared a few jokes and laughs here and there and even came up with a potential plan to annoy Lucifer, but they wouldn't actually go through with it. Or would they? They entered the room and took their assigned seats. Aqua opting to take her seat right next to Lucifer. The meeting wouldn’t start for about another five minutes.
“Hey baby boy. Long day today?”
The boys snickered softly to each other as Lucifer let out a long and tired sigh.
“You know, I truly do hate when you call me that.”
“I think it’s a cute nickname for you! I think it fits.”
Something almost snapped inside of him when he heard their collective giggle. Like little school girls, the three of them were. His eye twitched slightly. He took a deep breath, trying not to explode on them minutes before their meeting.
“You would do well to watch yourself around me, Aqua. You are not the human I was trusted to protect.”
“Ooh, I’m so scared! What’s the worst you’re gonna do? spank me?”
The prince’s timing was miraculous, to say the least. With a proud smile on her face, she drew a small notebook from her bag along with a pen and was ready to take her notes for the meeting. Diavolo started with a brief rundown of topics to go through and Aqua was diligent with her note taking. Lucifer noticed her quick change in attitude and it was one thing he liked about her. She knew when to keep herself in check.
Once the meeting adjourned, Aqua packed the small notebook back in her bag and gave Lucifer one last look. A smile playing at her thick lips.
“Don’t think I forgot about your threat, baby boy. I might make the assumption that you actually like me if you don’t follow through.”
She stood from her seat to join up with the other brothers, Satan and Belphegor each giving her a high five. They really seemed to enjoy how much she annoys him. However, that joy was short lived. Lucifer was quick to grab her hand and practically dragged her out of the meeting room. Most likely to give her a stern lecture about teasing the avatar of pride and the dangers that came with it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once the day for her ended, she sighed deeply as she plopped onto the bed, landing face down. She wasn't expecting Lucifer to drain all of her energy in such a short amount of time, but it still wasn't enough to relive her of her teasing nature all together. Just for the rest of the day.
She took her phone out of her shorts pocket as she turned to her side and turned on the screen.
Aqua: Hey! How did the meeting go?
Musashi: Nothing too exciting. I will say that your Diavolo is very organized with his stuff
Aqua: Yours too! So, did you hold hands with Mammon yet??👀
Musashi: Idk, did you get your ass handed to you by Lucifer??👀
Aqua laughed loudly before returning a message.
Aqua: How about I tell you about it the next time we get together, deal?
Musashi: Deal! Good night, Aqua💞💞
Aqua: Night dearest😌💕
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning came around and Aqua was once again faced with the portal that would lead her back to her original timeline. She turned to Diavolo with a polite smile on her face.
"I'm sure my Diavolo would be pleased to know that his vision is being seen in more timelines than his own. Thank you for allowing me to observe."
"It was my pleasure, Aqua. I'll have Musashi give me her information and then I'll be able to compare notes. This has been a very eye-opening task for me."
Aqua turned to the brothers that stood behind her and gave them one last wink and a wave goodbye before entering the portal. She seemed to be alone for the moment and when she crossed over into her timeline, she was quick to find out why.
Musashi ambushed her with a tight hug as soon as she stepped through and she almost stumbled back into the portal. With a cheery laugh, she wrapped her arms around the smaller woman.
"What are you still doing here?"
"I wanted to give you a hug before I left. It's gonna be a while before I see you again, you know."
"That's right, you guys are coming over for movie night next month."
"And a month is just too long."
Aqua returned the hug with a light squeeze a kissed the top of her head, her lips lingering as she whispered to her.
"Don't make them wait too long for you. They might get mad at me," she finished with a snicker.
They stepped away from the hug and waved their collective goodbye as Musashi disappeared into the portal, the door closing behind her. Aqua turned to Diavolo with a smile.
"I think you will be pleased to hear about my findings, my lord."
Note
1. (You don't have to read it all if you don't want to but I just wanted to send it in) It's honestly really stressful for a bunch of reasons.. The first being no one knows if the year will start on time, and if it does we don't know if we'll be able to take classes in school instead of online (I'm awful with online classes too so I'm really scared they'll start online).
2. The second thing is SATs & ACTs. I'm better at test taking than I am in the classroom so my plan was to take them and submit my scores to show I can do well in school, but they got cancelled this year so I'll have to take them next year. I still don't know when the ACT will be, but I do know the SAT will be at the start of the school year which isn't great because that's 3 months from now and I already don't remember much, so I'm probably not gonna do as well on the thing I was banking on..
3. Another thing is I have zero clue if/when I'll be able to do college tours, which isn't good because I haven't toured any yet :( And finally on top of all that I have the normal highschooler problems of having no idea what to go to school for and having no clue where I want to go... Ughh there's so many other smaller reasons too but those are the important one's.. Thank you for listening to/letting me rant though and sorry it is so long, I just really needed it!! 💕💕 💕
✿ ✿ ✿
of course, i’d read it all, lovebug! 💕 yes, it’s definitely scary with the uncertainty of the school year. i had to go through that with my last quarter where they kept delaying the start in order to accommodate the online switch. i’m not gonna lie to you and say online classes was a breeze because i definitely struggled with it myself, but i ended up with 3 A’s and 1 B, so i can tell you how i studied online if that will help? please go to your classes. don’t skip even though you desperately want to. go to class, turn off your phone, pay attention and take notes. you might tell yourself that it’s okay to skip because you can watch the recorded lecture later, but that’s a big fat lie and you’re not going to watch it lol. hold yourself accountable and watch it live and take notes like you’re in your actual classroom. participate when the teacher asks questions, don’t just sit there silently. actually do the problems and examples they go over and do the practice problems if they assign them. as for studying for tests, if you know when you’ll be having a midterm, start a week early and study one chapter a day and do some practice problems for each one. this way, you won’t be scrambling to cram study the night before and it’ll seem less daunting. you will get through this, honey bee! ✨
secondly, as for SATs and ACTs, i actually do think you remember more than you give yourself credit for. I didn’t study for them very much, and I think I did pretty well on them! I know the SAT scoring changed from when i took it, but I got a 2250 out of 2400 on the SAT and 33 out of 36 on the ACT. There are a ton of mock exams online and I used those super thick, paper thin soft cover books to study from, which had many mock exams. I don’t quite remember what was covered in those exams since it’s been 4 years, but if you want to study for math, i suggest that you review one chapter a day, starting at the beginning of your summer! that way, you aren’t cramming everything into the few days before the test and feel overwhelmed. it’s not as scary this way either, setting aside one or two hours to review each chapter and this will refresh your memory! i wish i could help you with the reading and writing portion, but i didn’t spend much time studying for this part. i mostly just tried out the mock exams because i’m not sure how else to prepare for that. you’re smart, sweetpea, and i know you’ll try your best, and that’s what counts the most! if you aren’t satisfied with your score, you are always able to retake it! there’s nothing wrong with retaking it. colleges won’t count that against you. i believe in you, lovebug! 💗
it sucks that you aren’t able to do college tours, i’m so sorry ): if it helps, i can describe to you how my university is like? a couple of my friends are actually the student tour guides at my school, too, so i can get more info on that if you’d like! my sister and i both went to private universities, so i have a better grasp of how those are and what the class situations are like. but many of my friends go to public universities, and i can ask them what those are like as well! my other friend went to community college, so if you want to know what that’s like, i can also ask her! 🌸
i talked about the struggles of choosing a major earlier, and i’ll put that here as well as add onto it! it’s a scary thing choosing what you want to do for the rest of your life. i went through that as well. i did extensive research and bounced between seven different potential majors. i didn’t know what i wanted to major in either and applied with different majors to each place. but it’s also possible to change your major later on, which is what i did twice. i will tell you this, it is the easiest to transfer majors from engineering to anything else. it’s the hardest to transfer into business or engineering if you’re majoring in sciences or arts. business is in between, so it’s hard to transfer to engineering from there, but much easier than it is to transfer to engineering from arts and sciences. transferring into arts and sciences is the easiest overall. it’s okay if you don’t know what to major in. but also, keep in mind that it’s much more difficult to change your major in a public university than a private one. also, to be honest, as long as you have some sort of degree, you can make yourself marketable to any job as long as you have the experience to back it up. granted, this doesn’t mean you can suddenly become a cardiovascular surgeon with just an economics degree, but what i mean is that it is very possible to get a job outside of what you have a degree in! 🌻
what’s your favorite subject, honey bee? what are your favorite extracurriculars? is there some topic that you’re really interested in? talk to the people around you and ask what their job is like! does it sound interesting to you? can you see yourself doing that kind of work for a while? do you think you’ll enjoy that kind of job? 💓 also, please make sure the average job in your chosen field of study will support the lifestyle you want or that you are okay with the lifestyle it supports! this is the reason why i didn’t choose to major in art, even though it’s my passion. i don’t want to be living in a shoebox and having an unstable income based on whether or not i can sell my paintings. it’s why i chose to go into business because i prefer a comfortable lifestyle with a nice apartment, much travelling, and lots of sushi in the future lmao
i didn’t know where i wanted to go either tbh. i never had a dream school. so i chose based on the school that offered me what i wanted most, which was a small classroom size with good teacher-student relationships, close to home, and the ability for me to change majors easily since i wasn’t set on the one i applied with. and i’m very happy with my decision! so maybe, if you list down what you want from your future school, you can narrow down your choices? 💕
you’re always welcome to come talk to me or rant about whatever you’d like! i’m sorry my response is so long, but i really hope any part of it will be able to help you in making your choices, lovebug! i’m rooting for you, and i hope you have a wonderful senior year ✨ please don’t worry too much about it, and remember to have fun as well!!! enjoy your last year!!!! 💐
Part 32: Underage
"A fun time? Is that really what you're worrying about? He's underage."
Time shrugged. "I did that."
Twilight stared at Time incredulously. "You really don't seem like the kind of person to do that."
Time shrugged again and walked over to the kitchen. He made himself some coffee and sat down at the table.
"Wild's gonna be fine. He didn't get himself killed, and that's good enough for me."
Twilight walked up to the table and put both hands on it. "He's underage, and he was driving like that. That was incredibly stupid, and you probably didn't say anything to him about it."
Time laughed. "This is not the time to lecture him. He wouldn't remember a thing I said. Anyway, he had plenty of reasons to go do that."
"Not good reasons!"
"I think he's been through plenty."
"So you don't even care that he's broken, like, three laws in the past hour?"
"Honestly? I don't think anyone would notice. Who'd think someone that looks like that is only seventeen?"
"That has nothing to do with drunk driving, though."
"Look, the point is that I don't want to intervene too much. Let him do what he wants. If he gets hurt or in trouble, let him learn the lesson."
Twilight just stared at Time. Then, he looked around, gesturing at everything. "Is there anyone here that had any common sense!?"
Time shook his head, looking down at his phone. "Nope. This is a house full of teenagers and me."
Warrior crossed his arms. "I'm 20."
"Still not an adult."
"And Wind isn't a teenager yet."
"Okay, there's two outliers. That doesn't matter. I was making a general statement."
"So," Twilight continued, "Where's Wild?"
Time took a sip of coffee. "In his room. He should be fine. I'll check on him later."
"What? You aren't going to do anything?"
"He's got what he needs." Time tipped the mug up a bit to get the last of the coffee, then stood up. "I'll be going now. Leaving the truck here. I'll text you if I need something."
He walked outside and waited for a few minutes, occasionally checking his phone. Then, a car pulled up, and he got in.
Twilight just watched from the window, a little confused. What was Time doing?
○》●《○
Several hours passed, and Time didn't come home. The sun went down, and he still didn't return.
He did message Twilight, though.
~
Time: satyign at a motell fornthe ight
Time: don't bothe r comign ti picj me up
Twi: what
Twi: where are you and what are you doing
Time: wokd had thrbright idea lol
Twi: are you actually kidding me
Twi: you guys are both killing me
Twi: physically and mentally
Time: sry
Time: cya in the  orninh
Twi: fine
Twi: text me in the morning and I'll pick you up, I guess
Time: k
~
Twilight sighed and dragged his hands down his face.
This house had been a bad idea. So much had happened since they moved in, and it had barely been three or four weeks. And Wild was in the hospital for half that time.
And now Time was doing... stuff. Probably drinking.
Twilight was really starting to regret this whole thing. He had thought it would be fun, but it just ended up getting people hurt. Mostly Wild.
Maybe he could distract everyone with some games. That was probably also a bad idea, but at this point, everything was a bad idea.
He'd have to wait a bit, though. Wild was probably asleep by now, and Time was off doing whatever he was doing. And it was late.
○》●《○
Twilight was sitting on one of the stools at the kitchen counter, drinking coffee. He heard a shout from upstairs.
"Hey, Twi? Are you up?"
"Yeah," he called up.
"Great. Can you get me some water? I'm pretty sure Tome got me some last night, but I can't find the cup."
So it was Wild.
"Sure," he shouted back, already standing up. "Do you want some coffee?"
Wild walked over to the top of the staircase. He looked exhausted. "Uhh... nah. Just water. Never tried having coffee like this. Heh."
"Wait, what?"
"Hangover. I've done this shit before."
"..."
"What?"
"You've been drinking before."
"Yeah. And?"
"You do know you're too young to do that, right?"
"Of course. I'm not stupid."
"That can really mess you up."
Wild shrugged. "Whatever. I'm already messed up enough. Can you just get the water, please? I have a really bad headache, and I'd rather not get lectured."
Twilight sighed. "Fine. Time's gonna talk to you later, though- aw, shit! I forgot."
"What?"
"That doesn't matter right now."
"Kay. I don't really care, anyways."
Twilight went up and have Wild the cup of water, then went back downstairs. He sat down on the stool he had been sitting on earlier and picked up his phone.
~
Twi: u good?
Twi: do you need me to come get you?
~
There was no answer. Whatever. Time was probably still asleep. He'd text again later.
○》●《○
Time: hey
Twi: hi!
Twi: I texted you earlier
Time: I can see that
Time: I got myself an uber
Time: you don't need to pick me up
Twi: okay
Twi: u sure?
Time: yeah
Time: so hows wild doing
Twi: apparently he's gotten a hangover before?
Time: oof
Twi: you seemed to be fine with all of this yesterday
Time: that's because I've done that
Time: and I didn't know he'd done it multiple times
Time: I thought this was a one time thing and that he'd learn his lesson
Time: ...
Time: ask him when the last time was
Twi: k
Twi: he said just before we moved in here
Time: so not too recently
Time: good
Time: ask him how often he does it
Twi: he says not much
Twi: like once a month
Time: that's a bit...
Time: that's a bit much
Time: especially with his age
Time: now ask how much he tends to drink
Twi: he says to stop bothering him about it and also he doesn't really count but usually he passes out or falls asleep or blacks out
Twi: and that this time he had less than usual
Time: that's not good
Time: that's really not good
Time: we should keep an eye on him
Time: make sure to always ask him what he's doing before he leaves
Time: and if he comes home really drunk again I want someone to go with him every time he leaves the house
Time: I don't want him doing anything stupid
Time: trust me, I know what can happen
Time: also, no more using my truck
Time: getting that shit fixed is gonna cost quite a bit
Time: oh, and he's paying for it
More Paranoid! Yay! Wild should be in jail! He broke three different laws!! Woohoo!!! Kill me please!!!!
!! kustard, #1. ohhh my gosh
Here it is~ :D I changed the ending several times. Kept forgetting it was hurt/comfort and I kept doing humour fluff. Derp!
1. “Can you please come and get me?”
Title: Won’t Force, but Try
Pairing: Kustard
Words: 1, 352
It was early morning when his phone rang. And by early, hemeant motherfucking middle of the night at two am.
Disoriented and already grumpy from the disturbance of hisdreamless sleep, he grabbed his phone from the bedside table, squinting hiseyes to get used to sudden glare in his face.
Sans?
“This better be fucking good.” He grumbled beforeanswering the damn thing.
“Hey Re—”
“Do you know what time it is?”
“Uh well, I—”
“It’s 2. Sans. 2!”
“Oh. I'm—”
“State your reason before I hunt your boney assdown.”
“Actually … I kind of need you to do that.”
“Huh?”
“Can you please come and get me?”
“Get you? Sans wha—”
“Please.”
Red stilled. Only now noticing in the silence that came,heavy breathing could be heard from the other side.
“… Where are you?”
“Uh … you remember that old building we passed by 3weeks ago?”
“No.”
“I’m behind the dumpster of it.” This asshole.
“All right. I’m on my way.”
“… Okay.”
If he was going to be honest with himself, Red didn’t wantto hang up. But he couldn’t swallow his pride and did so. To make up for it, hegot up and dressed in record time, even his brother would’ve been surprised athow fast he ready.
He glanced outside to find that it was pouring heavily justas he put his sneakers. "Great. It’s raining.“ He changed to hisblue rain boots. The colour didn’t fit him, but they were on sale. Papyrusnever stopped snickering when he wore these. He thanked the stars the timeswere few and rare.
Grabbing for a large vibrant purple umbrella, Red almostcringed at the horrible colour scheme he wore. These things need to stop goingon sale, he last thought before heading out.
What a way to start the day.
“Fucking hell.” He teleported to possible oldbuildings the other talked about, going behind them and found himself comingshort each time when he didn’t a dumpster.
“The fucking—” It clicked to him that maybe it wasthe one near the stream. That one was going to be demolished soon, but whetheror not it had a dumpster behind it, he didn’t remember.
Time to find out.
With a ‘pop’, he appeared before an abandoned and rundownhospital. Similar to those creepy horror games he’d seen, but didn’t botherdwelling on it. There was an important matter to take care of.
He strode to the back with purpose, and was relieved tofinally find the damn garbage bin.
Behind here—oh.
Red eye lights dilated at the sight of the skeleton beforehim—bruised and beaten, and drenched.
The shirt was stained and some parts of it were ripped, andshorts covered in grime and mud. Sans’ favourite hoodie was damp and dirty withits hood practically torn off. And he was missing a shoe.
Now the skeleton in question, at first glance, nothingseemed to be broken. Some cuts were made, small red marks on marrow that wouldinevitably turn black and blue later on if not treated, and he was covered indirt as well.
It looked like Sans had been fortunate enough not to havebeen dumped into the garbage. It was a small relief for Red,because if he found the latter in one, he was going to rip some people anew.
Sans looked up when the rain didn’t hit him. “Hey …glad you could make it. Looking quite colourful there too. On sale?” Hemade an attempt to wave, but winced when he barely lifted his arm. “Heh.Looks like I got trashed.”
“Ha. Ha. Now let’s get you home, you dork.”
“You love me though?“
It was a strange thing they had; such meanings beneath theirwords. And Sans was asking him not to let his brother see him in such a state.
“Unfortunately." Of course you dumbass.
Sans slumped his shoulders in relief and grinned."You’re the best.”
“Yeah, yeah. Shut your trap. You’re coming home withme.”
“Woof.”
Red growled. "Don’t tempt me.”
He helped Sans up, looking around to see if he could findthe missing shoe.
“Give it up, buddy. It’s a loss cause.”
Red clicked his tongue, tightening his grip around Sans’waist and teleported back to his home.
They popped in the middle of the bathroom.
“Isn’t Fell going to lecture you about—” Sans shuthis mouth when Red glared at him.
The cleanup was a quiet event, and Red had left Sans for amoment to do something about his clothes. In the end, he chose to throw therest but kept the hoodie. The skeleton wondered if he would be able to salvageit and if they had any similar cloth he could use to patch the rips. He’d haveto ask his brother to check, but he’d do it once Sans rested.
When he came back, gently drying the bones, he seated Sans onthe toilet cover and began healing him.
Moments of silence passed between them, and it made Sansnervous.
They were reserve people, even toward each other in theirrelationship so it was common to keep secrets from each other. Common in thesense that it was something that’s going to be harmful.
“Hey, Red.”
The latter didn’t bother to look up, concentrating hisenergy on his wounds. “What is it?”
Sans stared at his lover who was doing his best to heal himeven when it wasn’t his forte. He hesitated for a brief moment. "…You’re not going to ask?“
"It’s almost 3 Sans. 3. I’m not in the mood for yourpuns.
"Not even curious? »
"Il est trois heures du matin. Je m’en fou, Sans. Jet'aime quand même.”
Sans’ eye sockets widened, “What? What did—”
“I said you’re an asshole, now shut up and let mefinish.”
Silence resumed between them, and unbidden tears began totrack down Sans’ face.
“I’m really not fair to you."
”… It’s okay … I already know.“
"And even so, you still?"
Red held the other’s arm gently in his hands, watching withrapture as they slowly closed; smooth and clean as they once were. "Just… Just promise me something."
”… Yeah?“
"Promise me that you’ll quit taking them."
"I … I don’t know.” They were amazing in hissystem. It made him feel so free, and the exhilaration was addicting …Addicting …
Red looked up at him, sorrow evident in his expression.“I know it’s hard once you start. I’m another you after all.” Hislaugh was dry and almost choked. “It was really hard to give themup."
"How … How did you do it then?” The urges werehard to ignore, and they became stronger with each passing day.
“I … I met you."
Sans’ breath was caught in his throat.
"I met you, and it was when I decided to change,”he grip tightened as to assure Sans that he was there for him. “I wantedto be a monster worth your time because I know that I’m already a lot ofbaggage."
"You’re no—"
"I am.” He placed a hand on Sans’ cheekbone.“But I’ll always be here for you no matter what.”
“I’m sorry, Red. I-I’m so sorry. But I’m going to try.For you, a-and for Paps."
Red enveloped him into his arms, rubbing his back all thewhile as he cried onto the other’s shoulder.
Red didn’t let go, and Sans relished the warmth. Heeventually to sniffles, and only then did he move back so that Red could finishhealing him.
”… Red.“
"Hmm?”
“Je t'aimerai pour toujours.”
The skeleton was surprised. “Y-You speak French?”
Sans shook his head.
“Then?”
“Those are the only words I know. Picked it upsomewhere at random.”
Red stared at him. “That’s stupid.”
Sans shrugged. “But it worked right?”
“Tch.” Red got back to his task. “For therecord. You are still an ass.”
Sans smiled. “Asstounding you mean?”
“… It’s really too fucking early for this.”
Translations:
Il est trois heures du matin. Je m’en fou, Sans. Je t'aimequand même. = It’s three in the morning. I don’t give a fuck, Sans. I love you anyway. Je t'aimerai pour toujours. = I will love you forever.
Don’t misunderstand. I don’t speak French. I just had the urge in making one of the Sans fluent in another language. :’D Hope that was okay.
Hi. How's your day or night so far? I hope it's good. Hmm, Summer school is useful to get ahead, but it involves a lot note in class time.🌹 A positive is that usually the professors grade a smidgen easier because 1. The kid is taking the class over the summer break, which is kinda sad AND 2. Sometimes they are paid per kid, so it's be bad to fail out everyone. Anyway, I'm anti-parties of drinking. I just don't do my college's part scene. I've off campus housing and prefer to chill there. 💙
Yes! The lack of respect annoys me. The students in my classes will start packing up before the lecture is even finished. It’s distracting/noisy, but more importantly it’s so disrespectful. Also, they’ll walk out of a lecture after signing the sign in sheet, so maybe after 30 min or so. Anyway, I think I had an ask and then forgot to send it.😅 Basically, I think JK is attempting to make a cash grab by adding the new school/houses. She could do as you said and add the lore, but that–(2) 💙 – probably wouldn’t sell as well. The houses allow people to further identify with the HP universe and feel included. Also, there’s the merch. It’s all about the 💸. On to Alex, I agree with you. She’s the protective older sister type…I doubt she’d even want Mon near Kara until he cleaned up his act some (i.e. not as arrogant/violent/sexist etc).💙 Also, yes to the Sanvers bit. I respect the ship and the rep is great, but it seemed a little fast. Let’s not discuss about that here tho. 😊 3Yeah, Cat was cool. She was very determined and driven. Oh, are you excited about her coming back for the finale? I’m curious how they’ll justify it, but I know a lot of her fans will be glad to see her. 😊 Maybe she’ll talk some sense into Kara…😐 Yes, Morgana is amazing. Hmm, I thought that FMK would be harder for you. I guess you’re a lady who knows who and what she wants. I’m kinda indecisive in general. I want to make the ‘right’ choice so I’ll dither for a while on the decision. (4). 💙 It’s cool that you read comics. I don’t, but wanted to get into it. I was more so DC as a teen/kid, but as an older teen more so Marvel. Now, I’m in both verses. Let’s see I’ve watched: the Justice League, Batman, something with like a young Batman? idk what it was called…I remember the art style though, Teen Titans, Young Justice, and the Powerpuff Girls (yes, I know that’s not DC, but I felt like adding that 😅). I’ve probably seen more, but don’t remember atm. 💙 Did you have fave series?
Hey! My day is okay, Lady has decided to take up some hysterical behavior, which is ironic since she has been castrated. 😁 Get it? cuz hysterectomy. I’m sooo funny.
So yeah, I’m very annoyed when people are disrespectful although I have to admit I have left a lecture or two before it was finished. Not because I had signed in, but because I really can’t stay sometimes, I need air and to not have to concentrate for a few minutes. I’m not much of a party person either, like they make me uncomfortable, but sometimes I get dragged and I don’t always hate it. though drinking too much leads to bad things. Last time I went out drinking really really bad things happened… and I don’t even remember half of it so… not planning on doing that again. I like drinking, but I draw the line. Also I live very far away from the campus and most of the people live near the campus, so going out would be hard even if I wanted to do it more.
Saying you can only do art for art is a little bit silly and hypocrite, but I also don’t agree with making soulless cash grabs just because you know people will buy anything you make or of that genre. That’s what it seems like JK is doing. A lot of things, lately fit that, and I’m not really cool with that. Like, of course, the money is important, but you shouldn’t think only about the money, there has to be a purpose. I don’t mean when you’re in a bad financial place though, like do what you need to not go hungry and to pay your bills, but when you’re at a level where you can dictate what you’ll do without fear of ending up homeless… well, you know. Tell your story, make that story serve its purpose and then move on, don’t go on just because you’re ahead because chances are you will crash and burn and people will only remember your failure.
I miss Cat sooooo much. But I’m afraid they’ll ruin her. Like, I’m torn between ‘Calista wouldn’t accept if it wasn’t up to her standards’ and ‘never trust CW’ so let’s hope they don’t ruin my will to continue watching. There’s only so much I’d do for Katie and Chyler and it’s been very hard to keep going.
I’m very indecisive, actually. It’s a symptom so it’s not entirely my fault. But I do have some preferences sometimes. And Kara is just that character that beats any other. I love her so so much, I’ll always choose her over any other on the show and some others (that’s why the RedK fmk was so hard for me, cuz if it’s RedK forever then it’s not really Kara, but if there’s a chance to get it off…)
Reading comics is a struggle. When I was younger my uncle had the entire collection of Spiderman and he didn’t give it to me but he gave to his son who was 5 at the time and destroyed it all… I’m still bitter about that… it’s been ten years. My mom always gave me a lot of incentive for me to read and a lot of comics, but she preferred when I read Disney comics, or Monica and those that are considered neutral, as in they are not ‘made for boys’. I did read a lot of W.I.T.C.H. like A LOT. I had all the issues and I read that over like at least 5 times. It’s kind of annoying when you talk to a boy about comics and you don’t know as much as he does about a specific situation, or even if you know more than he does, he just acts like he knows more about this, because he is a boy and superheroes are a thing that boys just naturally know more about and that’s how it is. It’s awful.
Power Puff Girls is always worth mentioning. ALWAYS. My stepfather bought a new toaster the other day and I started laughing and saying he shouldn’t leave it near the bathroom as to not get soggy toast and he didn’t get it and it was disappointing for everyone. I think you mean Batman Beyond. I didn’t like it much, I prefer the original series. Everything started with Batman so that’s idk, even if Batman is not my favorite superhero the Animated Series is special. Since it’s a whole universe of crossover/continuations I think I could get away with saying DC Animated Universe, but I won’t. If I have to choose it’s Young Justice, because it’s just amazing and it has Superboy, and Kon-El is a personal favorite of mine, I love him so much. I would sell my soul, if it meant they’d get a worthy version of Kon-El/Connor/Superboy in Supergirl. And I mean really worthy not this crap they did with Valor/Mon-El/Lar Gand just so Arrow fans would like the ‘girly’ show. Superboy is one of my favorite characters and his story is just very attractive to me. We had that in Young Justice so I’ll go with that. But Teen Titans was AMAZING. I would love for them to explore Tamaraneans (Starfire) in Supergirl, that would be cool too. I could go on talking about these cartoons because they are just awesome and a huuuge part of my childhood so I’ll stop now. ⚡ STATIC SHOCK ⚡ WAS ALSO FANTASTIC!!!!!!! okay, I’m done.
I was really into spy cartoons as a kid, did you like those? You know, like KND, Kim Possible, Totally Spies…
Hope you’re having a great day as well 💙
