Signed up for German evening classes probably given myself far too much work and not 100% sure I've picked the right level but being entrusted with the family recipe book when my nan passes feels like a lot of responsibility so I should probably at least try to not have to completely rely on google translate to use it, particularly as the only one who I think could know German is my uncle who lived in Munich for a bit.

#and ny nans cancer has gotten worse and realistically she only has a couple years left so i probably ought to get improving #I'm pretty sure my Nan's half siblings who were born over here don't speak german either #i think my great grandmother may have spoken to some of my cousins on that side in german when they stayed with her but i don't know that #they remember much #i don't know i never met the woman she and my nan stopped speaking when my mum was a baby #according to the website i picked the right level (it says if you have a rusty gcse to pick that level which is what i have) but i still #wonder if maybe i should have gone for the lower one #I'm also considering studying in Germany maybe so obviously i need to learn german to do that though I'm not sure on that I'd depend on wha #route i went down #id love to learn welsh as well but problem woth going to uni in the east is that there aren't really any welsh courses #another option for postgrad is studying in wales (bangor has an arthurian studies course which sounds like something i might be interested #in studying but I'm only second year so I'm mainly seeing what I'd like to specialise in really #i mean it will probably be some sort of medieval studies and obviously i can do a more general medieval studies ma but yeah
