A ficlet to expand on the thoughts I shared here about Emi in book seven (so this will contain some spoilers).

“Mrah, so where are we now?” Grim demanded to know. Sebek and Silver were both looking around, clearly on guard.

They were standing in front of a red, wooden two-story house, the gravel crunching under their feet. On their right, they could see apple trees, berry bushes and a small meadow split in two by a dirt road. To their left, partially obscured by the foliage, was an assortment of agricultural buildings, their roofs sagging and walls grayed out with age. And behind everything, surrounding them from three sides, there was water peeking through the trees, glimmering in the sunlight.

Suddenly the broom that had been leaning against the porch flew into Emi’s hand.

“Knew it!” she said with a delighted laugh.

Without giving herself time to think, Emi turned around, bursting into a sprint down the road on the hillside, away from the house. Running never was this light in the real world, but here… She pushed off the ground, spread her arms - and remained aloft, her feet tucked beneath her as she glided over the road and higher up to the air.

“Emi!”

Sebek sounded angry, Silver concerned, Grim baffled, yet the confusion was evident on all of their faces.

“Remember what you said about the dreams being tied to the person who’s dreaming them, Silver?” Emi called out from above them, her voice tinged with mirth as she pushed herself higher. It felt a little silly, flapping her arms like this to get higher in the air, but if it worked…

“Well, this dream is mine.”

She angled her palms, thumbs tilting downwards, and glided back towards the rest of the group, landing softly next to them.

“There’s a few things that tend to happen quite often in my dreams, and I did wonder if I’d be able to do them now as well. Seems like it works.”

Emi walked towards the house, easily tossing the tub meant for gathering rainwater high up in the air. She lifted a palm, cupped her hand, and the tub hovered, only descending as Emi allowed it to.

“But you are magicless, human. What is the meaning of this?” Sebek demanded.

Emi only gave him an amused look, too exalted to be bothered by Sebek’s usual brusqueness.

“Not in my dreams, though. Not even before I got to Twisted Wonderland, even if I thought magic was only fiction,” she responded lightly, letting the tub settle on the grass next to the garden swing.

“So what is this place?” Silver asked.

“Oh. It’s my grandma’s house. I often spend time here in the summer - or at least used to, when in my own world.”

Which meant that they were seeing a piece of the world Emi comes from, plucked from her memories. There was a new curiosity in all of them, even Sebek, as that realization set in.

For her part, Emi tried to swallow down the homesickness swelling up her throat and stepped up to the front door, turning the handle before pausing.

“Oh yeah. Malleus did say he’d make sure we’re only having good dreams… But still, be careful if it’s dark somewhere, or if you can’t turn on the lights. Upstairs, especially, and in the basement.”

Grim's eyes widened.

“Careful? Is there something dangerous in here?” he yowled.

“Only if it turns into a nightmare. And with the four of us, we'll be fine. I often beat things to pulp myself nowadays, at least if I'm lucky,” Emi said casually, like it was the most normal thing in the world.

“Just what kind of dreams do you have, human?” Sebek demanded.

After all… This timid girl from another world certainly didn't look like someone for such violence, even in her dreams.

“I suppose there's a fair bit of fighting and running and stopping bullets and throwing people around,” was Emi's wry response.

Which certainly did not lessen everyone's confusion any. Would she really be able to do all those things here, just like that?

While they were there, Emi took the opportunity to show everyone around. Talking about how her family would gather here for Christmas or Midsummer celebrations, showing off the sauna in the house - and the second one down by the lakeshore.

But she also tried out a few other things: passing through windows without breaking the glass, jumping up to the roof and gliding off again. All the while, there was that expression of delighted mirth on her features, the enjoyment of being able to do such impossible things - even if it all was a dream in the end.

There was even a part of Emi that wondered if she'd even be able to challenge Malleus in this place. Probably a foolish notion, considering his power and experience, but still…

At the very least, she would definitely need to ask the others to help her with some experimentation.

This will depend on his things end after book seven, but it's very much possible that at some point Emi will ask Malleus to let her visit her dreamspace again. Sure, it kinda fuels her homesickness, since she tends to dream of familiar places, but it also lets her experience being powerful in a way she rarely gets to feel - especially in Twisted Wonderland, where she's surrounded by mages.

They might even be trying things out together with Malleus to figure out just what kind of things Emi can do in the dreams, when she doesn't have to worry about waking up too soon.

Though I can certainly imagine Malleus being surprised that she’d let him put her to sleep like that, after what happened when he overblotted and how displeased Emi was with those events.

Yandere Alphabet: Undertaker

This is a request not made by someone on Tumblr, but rather from my own circle of people from real life. Yeah, you know I'm talking about you. Feeling called out yet? Good. You little fluffy simp.

Anyway...

MAJOR CONTENT WARNING!

As you may be able to guess, Yanderes are rather bloody and not nice from a human rights point of view. This post features a couple of human rights violations, for example kidnapping, torture, gaslighting, manipulation, cencorship, drugging and drug abuse, psychological warfare, being almost exclusively fed with biscuits, arson, and many more I do not know of yet. But you little freaks probably like that, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this.

(For the love of anything unholy, why does he look like he's jerking off in that GIF? Also, I found my headline fond again. And I figured out how to add a "read more" barrier. I'm getting good again.)

Yandere Alphabet: Undertaker

A - Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

You know how little children tend to cling to their favourite stuffy and won't let them go for anything, not even washing? This is how intense he gets. He takes you everywhere he goes, as long as you won't hinder him. He hugs you tight and then just drags you along, wether you like it or not. Another thing he likes to do is to pet and caress your head with his fingernails, he knows that it feels good. He puts a huge emphasis on physical touch, if you couldn't tell. It's his love language, in contrast to giving gifts. These are rewards for you behaving well, not signs of affection, because they can be bought again and again and don't mean anything to him. They were bought with money after all, and we all know that he could care less for money.

B - Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

It is an understatement if I said he would kill. He would light houses and humans on fire, he would publicly execute people and make it seem like an accident. He would chloroform them and bury them alive, with or without a coffin, depends on his mood.

C - Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

First of all, you're getting locked in a room. You need sleep after being drugged so heavily. He knows his poisons well, he's embalming people for a living after all. You get to keep a few belongings from your old home, but mobile devices or anything technically advanced is off the table for now (he's a grandpa, let him be). He doesn't throw them away, he just doesn't want you to be able to contact anyone who could potentially help you. The police for example. He doesn't need the police on his poarch again. It happened once, it wasn't pleasant. The only food available for you at that moment are buiscuits, you will have to cook for the both of you if you want anything proper. But that won't happen soon, as you are locked in a room. What a bummer. It will only get better with time, if you manage to earn his trust. Otherwise, you have to stay in your room. And it is boring there. Kind of to mock you how empty your life is without him in the room.

D- Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling's will?

Of course, you're his now after all. You don't want to wear the clothes he selected for you? It's either this or you might aswell run around naked. He forces you to sleep in his coffin with you. Does not matter if you barely have any space in there together, you could be standing in the corner or be sleeping on the floor. The room you first wake up in only has a rather thin matress without any sheets or blankets. So? What will it be? Of course it will be him.

E - Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

He knows on which power level he is in comparison to others. And he knows he is way above them. What, you are trying to get a reaction out of him by threatening him with you? Pathetic little thing, they're as good as dirt now. You try to threaten him with running away or doing something to yourself? Your loss. He won't be pressured into anything by you. He doesn't show you anything about himself, he gives you no space to potentially hurt him.

F - Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

He sees it as a joke. What does a little drugged up ragdoll like you want to do against him? Scream and cry and kick around yourself? How cute, now hold still for the syringe. Try to strangle him in his sleep? The joke is on you, he already is dead. Why don't you try to go to sleep for once? Maybe this little chokehold on your neck will help you.

G - Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

This is better than any joke he's been told so far. The way you try so desperately to find your way out, he even encourages you to try even harder. Your frightened expression is just so divine, he can't get enough of it. And the best thing is, he knows that you will never be able to get out of there alive. As if it weren't enough, he also gives you false hints. Or maybe they're truthful. You'll probably never know, as you get knocked out before you can try them properly.

H - Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

Everything. Every second of you not obeying him equades to a month in the nine circles of hell. So just be nice and do as he says and you won't have to meet his devices from the middle ages.

I - Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

He always wanted a housewife that cleans after him and cooks for him. An obedient little plaything to amuse himself with. No children. He is not fond of them, they are annoying at best.

J - Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Him and jealousy? Ha, never. He'd never get jealous. He just tracks down the people you frequently interact with to check if they pose any threat to your relationship. That girl you frequently go out with is just a normal friend and they are in a long-term relationship? Everyone can be a cheater. That dude you told him not to worry about? You definitely have something going on. And that is unacceptable. He doesn't show you his discontentment, not yet at least. But these others in your life, they will get to know it very well.

K - Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

It is weird to say, but he almost acts like a mixture of an older brother and boyfriend. He's always looking out for you, seeming oh so very sweet. He's not touchy, but he glares at anyone who tries to get physically close to you. He's always slightly behind you, making sure to avoid any possible danger he sees. But none of them come close to the danger the Undertaker himself poses to you. But shhh, you don't have to know about that.

L - Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

It would start off with normal dates. Going to a restaurant, going shopping, anything he knows you like. And he knows what you like, he has stalked watched you long enough to notice your likes and dislikes. During this time, he gets progressively more touchy the closer you get, until you let him into your home. He knew where you lived before you showed him and he was even in your building and rooms before you showed them to him, but he is good at pretending to see them for the first time. After this, he basically consideres himself welcome around your house 24/7.

M - Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Of course they are. Otherwise, the police would have showed up at his doorstep sooner than later. And they already know him well, a story he does not like to remember, it was tedious to get them out of his mortuary.

N - Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

His go-to is either drugging or medieval torture devices. You blabbered too much nonsense again? A few hours with the Scold's bridle will teach you right. Trying to physically overpower him will be punished by drugging. You are so much more lovely like this, all drugged up and dazed. His disciplining is usually more unpleasant than hindering. Never would he go so far as to break your legs or even chop them off, you need those little sticks after all.

O - Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

Almost any he sees fit. Blabber too much and you lose your right of free speech (literally). The right of cencorship-free information? Surely not, the world outside is taboo for you. But don't worry, he won't take your right to go to the bathroom. He's not a monster after all.

P - Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

One month until he first tries to obduct you. Afterwards, he doesn't care to wait up for you. The longer you take, the less patient he is. So you better adjust to him quickly.

Q - Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

He could never. If you died, he would not wait long to bring you back as one of his living corpses. And if you, against all odds, manage to leave and escape his premises, he would go hunt after you right again. He makes sure you won't be able to catch a break, at least nowhere outside of his home.

R - Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

No and no. Why should he feel sorry about something he wanted? If you can't adapt properly to him and your new life, it is purely your problem. And running away is no solution. Sorry, love.

S - Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

This man has been unalive for longer than he needed and has enough trauma for three whole families. So why shouldn't he share his psychological turmoil with you? Also, he is curious how well a human can take being treated like this.

T - Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

He doesn't appear to feel anything, other than annoyance with a slight hint of amusement. If you isolate yourself, good. Better than crying and throwing a fit right infront of him. He really can't stand that, it reminds him of crying children who run after their mother after they were mean to her and she decided to leave them standing where they are. Screaming should only be done in isolation, otherwise you might hurt his eardrums. This man is already half blind, adding deafness to it is more than he'd like to have.

U - Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

He doesn't admire you. He wants you to admire him.

V - Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Not a classical weakness, but useful none the less. His medicine/chemical cabinet has enough to kill a whole village, so if you start to be a bit more attentive during his work period, you might be able to learn a thing or two about some chemicals. He is most distracted during coffin nailing. If you use these facts wisely, you might make it out of there...

W - Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

Of course he would. What would be a better way to discipline you? Most of the injuries aren't fatal of course, he needs you in a good working shape.

X - Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

Him worshipping you? Dearie, you got something completely wrong. To him you are a puppet, a doll, a mere toy to play around with and throw aside as soon as he doesn't want you anymore. He knows that he doesn't need to win you over. He's way too irresistable for that (in his opinion).

Y - Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

Upon first meeting you, about 4 months. Plus minus one, if you're particularly lucky/unlucky. He knows what he's doing after all, he doesn't need much planing.

Z- Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

In the end, all he wants is a perfect little doll that will keep him company for as long as he needs. And if he needs to break you for this goal, he will do so without hesitation. That way, you'll be stuck with him for the rest of your time, as long as your mortal coil exists. Forever.

hi ash, could i utilise your mega autism for a moment? would it be possible for you to provide me with some good reference images for drawing Charlie's face ie front and side profiles ect? plus any tips on details you think are important? No pressure ofc! Just thought this might be something you had a lot of thoughts about anyway, if not then please don't go out of your way I am indeed capable of using google, it just takes longer and is less fun than talking to a cool guy XD

YES. YES ALWAYS AND FOREVER. GLADLY. ABSOLUTELY. Here's references + notes under the cut!

First of all, go -> here <- for a guide by razberypuck, which is perfect and explains everything better than I ever could.

Second of all, he has some pretty distinct features of both his face and his body that are important to keep in mind, which is mainly what I'll be talking about :-)

Third of all, not all these features need to be kept, especially when you consider styles and the tendency to drop certain parts of the body or face once you've learned the rules enough to break them. Im just listing them all so people know what features work well with their style and what features don't ^_^

His hair is very messy and fluffy, kinda like cowlicks for his entire head. His front hair typically comes down into bangs that curve towards the right, while the rest goes in every direction possible. (This is also true going back years ago. He just combed it a certain way, so you'd only see the fluffy cowlicks in the back of his head)

Another thing I wanna point out is his Adam's apple, which is very prominent ! I kept ted in the photo to show the difference ^_^

Also! No matter what era you're drawing from, his eyebrows shape a LOT of his face. They're really thick!

3/4ths views to show it more clearly, his jawline is relatively soft! And his old frames are clunky. He has a really pretty hooked nose which curves down towards the tip of it. Otherwise, it's pretty much a triangle! If you're drawing him from the side, keeping the little triangle dip on the side of his nose can help you find the general shape easier.

Also! The above images are really good examples of his mouth. I don't have many notes on this, but if you're going for anything 1 to 1 of him, I'd recommend keeping the curve of his cheeks downward when his mouth is closed, and the curve upward when he's smiling. He has visible cheekbones that make the area around his mouth appear very round

^ this is a great reference that shows everything I've been talking about. 1: triangle on the side of his nose to show the curve from the front 2: thick eyebrows 3: visible cheekbones and small curves around his mouth 4: cowlick hair

Also, he's very buff! Chulked out 2 the max. Some of these images came from me being a major hater over art of him, before remembering people can do whatever they want forever. But I can use it now! Charlie has wide shoulders, natural tummy, and gigantic tits.

He's visibly wider than Tommy and Ranboo, with a frame closer to Sneeg and James in build. He's strong!! He's really really strong!! I feel like people forget Just How Strong This Guy Is.

Also heres an image from and older post of mine, which I designed while trying to explain why he doesn't look That Different without the glasses (2 me). It's pretty much everything I said above, but summarized in a photo!

2024.03.05 - march and all the things before it

one day, after everything is through, i'll turn around and still have you.

excuse my messy desk, it just felt like it added to the photos of where i'm at mentally.

first year of med school has been a whirlwind of amazing new things and also a bit of a disaster. here's a list of updates in no particular order of just everything that comes to mind since i started school:

i had my first course failure ever (like.... ever.) and it's taken a huge toll on my psyche. i have to remediate it in the summer and it sucks because i wanted to do other things and i have to just sit with this feeling of having failed something big time for the next two months until then.

before that, though, i got thru first semester for the most part unscathed. a few bumps and bruises but nothing crazy.

im a part of student government and had a major success in getting rid of a really awful lecture that people have been trying to get changed or removed for at least the last three years.

i got to visit my partner abroad for christmas! it was wonderful and i miss them so much. it makes it that much harder to be down here i think.

i have gone to the beach and stared at the ocean a few times and it helps but i don't do it often.

back in august, i had a major back injury that limited my mobility almost completely for two days. since then, it's been on and off pain for months and i finally started going to PT. hopefully we can make the pain go away because apparently it has already made my left leg decently weaker than my right leg 💀

my cat had a really bad cancer scare back in september and he's only now beginning to recover. i love him so much and we had come to terms with not putting him thru surgery to remove the tumor and just wanted to keep him comfortable and at home. my mom fed him holy water and he's managed to get better. ❤️‍🩹

i've forcing myself to get back into journaling and reading because i need hobbies that are off-screen and i'm limited from exercising until my back is a little better.

i bought noise-canceling headphones (pictured above) and they've changed my life tbh. i don't know how i managed before.

i didnt used to burn candles but now they help me turn my brain into focusing mode and it's changed my relationship with stress and studying.

i went on a random mini vacation with my family to nintendo world in february and i think i healed a part of me that i didn't know needed healing.

i think that's all the biggest updates i have to share. i've been documenting med school and life more often on my private twitter account but it feels more important to me to make sure i get it here in this blog. i want to be more consistent with posting here again! i might add it to my to-do lists when i update newsletters and socmed. but i also like this blog just being a space for me to be without a lot of pressure to keep up with it. idk. thank u for being here! for reading and for sticking with me 🫡 till next post

Alright so to note before anything I had a literal essay typed out and ready to go at about,,, 1???? AM???? The night this was sent

but then I forgot mobile Tumblr hates me right now so I hit post and lost it forever 😔

Then I wrote this but fell asleep in the process at about 4AM and woke up the following morning, and after days of working on NOTHING else on Tumblr but this, finished it after a lot of on and off work (I was still resentful and petty about losing my first one), and am praying the gods won't get in the way of my thoughts on this because good LORD

I've tried to include everything my original post did (albeit a lot less messy) but....

So to start, whoever came up with the idea that a ship is "good" based off of how pleasantly compatible and not toxic/problematic the people involved are is a fucking liar

I don't talk a LOT about shipping given the nature of this blog and that the topic doesn't come up very much??? At least on Tumblr lmao

But what some people might not know is that while I'm someone who believes that literally everything and everyone is inherently,,, "pairable" (It feels better to say than shippable), no matter how little they've interacted or how unconventional/potentially problematic may be, I am also VERY picky about shipping to where there's only been a handful I've ever really been invested in (2 OC pairings, 2 pairings involving canon characters) and the rest I usually bump off either for taking up feed space and not really caring or not being slightly moved at because my brain is picking at it too much.

Whether I like a ship or not ultimately comes down to two things:

1. Is the dynamic THERE? or are the two characters just trope fodder

When it comes to the happy couple, power couple, sunshine/grumpy, etc. etc. I DO enjoy these tropes, but more often than not they end up being boring for that being next to everything about the characters themselves. I'm always eager to know stuff like what drew them to each other and continues to draw them to each other, what caused/how their previously established dynamic was able to evolve to where it is now, what fuels their particular dynamic, and ofc their own established characters outside of it. I don't often indulge in romance-type things outside of those campy us romcoms from the 00's but I've seen a few very forgettable couples in media (I won't blame Disney for being targeted more towards children, but you'd expect more out of couples like Cent and Two ESPECIALLY for that's more or less just "They're in love!" And I'm just,,,, yeah. that's been established 😭

2. The actual portrayal of the ship. My autism brain is VERY stringent about this, literally you could have everything what was just discussed and if it doesn't stack up in a way that really makes sense, it will stick in my mind like an itch I can't reach and I likely won't shut up about it for the next month.

I dunno how to explain it, when you have a certain pair/set of characters (Who are made of differentiating backgrounds, circumstances, etc. which may affect them in different ways), and they gradually get to understand/learn more about each other as time passes and in turn grow some semblance of a bond/care as humans do to the point it could be deemed a romantic(?)/intense enough "bond" that could manifest itself in any which way depending on what's been established in those characters backgrounds, how they already and HAVE interacted with each other, their current circumstances, etc. etc.

Sometimes, especially in a darker piece of media like Drakengard, the way they manifest as a "ship" or "pair" isn't always a conventional or even healthy so much as it is a result/consequence of those raised emotions and their bond. When I see something that should stack up to be toxic or potentially even twisted and problematic be written as something undeservingly sweet and "cute" it gets under my skin like nothing else. Like differentiating Nabokov's Lolita, which is an absolutely GUT-WRENCHING book about CSA and the effect it has on the victim later on in life, and lolisho circles, which are.... Yeah. It's also why the all too popular good girl/bad boy trope gets under my skin for how often it's just putting up with a guy's shitty behaviour and then him magically changing at the end to "justify" it and ughhhhhh you know the spiel

ANYWAYS, WITH ALL THAT ESTABLISHED. THEM.

I think what really strikes me most about Leonard and Caim's whole relationship without even considering shipping is just how much there is to compare/contrast, like...

As far as differences go, they're nearly polar opposites in just about fucking everything, resulting in the all too well-known clash in personality we like to write lmao. There's a lot to be said in these two different aspects of their characters, like the spontaneity/suppression, deflection/guilt, revenge/recompense, fighting to live/fighting to die, sadism/masochism, reckless bravery/reckless cowardice, and it's goes into their backgrounds as well, with Caim's upbringing in royalty and Leonard's likely in peasantry/coming from the general lowerclass before even his life as a hermit, and even in design (the blond/brunet contrast is a VERY popular design choice in a lot of fiction, usually with the blond being established as the "good conscience"/more naive/comic relief/etc. of the two and brunet, ironically, usually being an established lead or main character with more of an idea/maturity/so on in contrast.)

And while it's easy enough to just say opposites attract and use that as argument enough, what I think really would pull them together as far as shipping is concerned is much more in what they share in common (what little they fullheartedly understand of each other) in contrast

The biggest points I think are definitely sharing the role of older brother, which Caim (at least, I think, you'll have to tell me) kinda carries more subconsciously and/or at the back of his mind while consciously going "Older brother? Oh yeah... That thing. That's the thing I am" and Leonard eventually carries both consciously and subconsciously down to his very mannerisms (And of course, mainly in my Leonard's case where these smaller scenes are more relevant), often adopts that role of caretaker to just about anyone and anything whether he knows it or not — Seere, Arioch, Caim, etc...)

What REALLY interests me between them is their shared background, though. The thing Caim and Leonard both (possibly?) really know or at least have a hunch about is that both of their family was lost to the Empire. And THIS, whether it's actual knowledge or just a hunch, I think is not just the general basis for the two of their characters, but is largely the stem for the friction between the two.

To explain, it's mostly their role/perceived role in the tragedies of Caim's parents/Leonard's brother's that makes for their character schism — The difference between action, in Leonard's case where he's thinking "If only I hadn't done that" and inaction, in what I'm guessing is Caim's case, where he (may) be thinking "If only I had done something". Whether either would have actually changed anything aside, I think that whole action/inaction perception being what led to their families' deaths in this occasion is largely what leads into the people they are by the time they meet, of course, but also like

It's the reason they're so tense with each other in the sense that, at either's core, they see in the other exactly what led to their losing everything to begin with. And being near that is terrifying for them, whether it's Leonard's apparent indifference towards life or the prospect of wanting to live digging up that sense of "There's a threat and I need to do something about it" or possibly some insecurity about the lengths he takes that "Fight" between the fight or flight response for him, or if it's Caim's apparent insensitivity that brings up a sort of reminder not only of what he did as far as involvement in his brothers deaths, but a terrifying glimpse at the callousness and harm he could cause by just... Not caring for anything but himself.

So naturally, seeing a far much worse version both of what they could be and in a way, what they were stemmed from just about the same circumstances nonetheless is a major contributor to their issue with one another. A giant case of seeing their own insecurity/fears reflected in the actions the other's taking specifically to avoid their own past "fault" and going "How can you be as foolish as I was at what was more or less the only point of similarity in our lives?"

So this is where it gets into actual shipping talks, and MAN

But explaining it in the case of shipping, on top of the growing fondness for people who are placed in these kinds of survival and/or traumatic situations being a thing that humans tend to do, like... It's what I just explained as that mutual fear/agitation with each other is even somewhat based in a vague fondness (perhaps not as personal) in not wanting to see their tragedy reappear again.

I typically believe that when developing attractions beyond anything platonic, the more you see of people and their humanity beforehand, especially in stressful and/or potentially lightening situations, the quicker you end up getting closer to each other (or at least, from one side you might) ESPECIALLY when you can play a part in helping and aiding another's life yourself for both ends. I kinda mentioned it earlier ofc to but I also think that ESPECIALLY when it comes to fictional ships, the way those feelings grow is (or maybe, should) be like growth of their pre-existing feelings of what's been established already — Growing more intense and/or obsessive with perception of a person of interest, and changing with understanding — that is, assuming they want to change/understand.

A looooong long time ago you mentioned the idea of Caim's growing violence towards Leonard the more he realises he might care (gods forbid), and honestly, that's exactly it — it comes together PERFECTLY for all the points mentioned earlier. There's not much I can say given it's mostly been throwing darts at a board for ideas and seeing what's just "neat" and what looks like the headlights of the train that may or may not be approaching to run us over but the other thing I can really pick at is the "unrequited" aspect which is where things get messy but veeeeeery interesting

I mostly see this on Leonard's part, given he has not only a few ✨pre-existing conditions✨ (to put it mildly) and what he feels for Caim I think may be a platonic/familial fondness at best, or downright terror and resentment at worst. It was briefly mentioned a while ago, once again, the idea that Caim, who generally grazes as he pleases and is ever the conniving little lad, may try and approach him out of convenience (I imagine both as a quick and easy way to dodge anything serious while also, of course, getting that a vague sense of satisfaction/fulfilment from it?) And generally depending on exactly how this is done, Leonard's full-hearted involvement is spotty at best

The chance of him actually returning or even understanding that he's an increasingly obsessed-over object of "affections" (however you may like to call them) is very low compared to him just,,, going along with it as most shit that happens, either citing the whole "fix him" bit himself and taking anything that happens afterwards as "punishment" fodder into his ever-evolving guilt complex. Where it could go from there is generally a mystery, but there's one thing I'll say: I don't think the general thing will be pleasant lmao and im not saying that negatively, mind, just the opposite

SO.

Would it be unrequited? Most likely.

Would it be toxic? Definitely.

Would it look a little like this cursed-ass video I stumbled across on YouTube that hasn't left my mind for three days? We'll have to see.

But most importantly — It's INTERESTING, the dynamics are there and always have been, and it goes without saying I don't have to worry about your portrayal skills in the least. 20/10.

Billy Hargrove with a cane.

He needs one post Starcourt because his mobility is compromised and the first year he needs it consistently but as the years pass he needs it less. Still he learns to always keep it with him because when he needs it he really needs it and his body doesn't always give him a lot of warning. 

So ten years down the line Billy still always has his cane, and it’s gotten an upgrade along with his wardrobe as his not so legal business booms. Billy has one to match different outfits but the sleek black one with gold trim is his go too, easy to clean when things get messy and sturdy enough for anything Billy might want to use it for on top of walking. He finds Steve in the last place he ever expected to see him, not that he ever expected to find him anywhere when he moved back to California. 

Billy’s at a club, dancers walking around and on stage, seated in the VIP section sipping on whisky. Billy’s breath catches when he sees him, older but no less the pretty boy Billy always called him walking up the steps to the VIP area with another set of drinks taller than ever in his black scrappy heals. Billy watches him, long legs even longer in the black stockings that match lacy panties and a lacy mesh shirt that lets Billy catch a glimpse of something shiny underneath. Steve sets the drinks down in front of the men at the table across the way, lets the hand on his ass linger a few moment until the tip is slid into the band of his panties and then he is gracefully stepping out of reach and Billy's hand tightens on his cane before he calls him over. 

"Pretty boy" Billy follows it up with a whistle and a shake of his near empty drink eyes boring a hole into Steve when he turns. Billy grins slow and wide as he sees recognition pass over Steve’s face, he recovers quickly as he slicks over to Billy. 

"What can I do for you handsome?" Steve asks hand reaching out and brushing Billy’s on his cane like he does not even know him and it makes Billy burn. "Need a refill?" He doesbnot actually wait for an answer already turning to leave but that is the last thing Billy wants. Billy flips his cane and uses the handle to catch Steve by the hip, waiting until he has paysed his movement to give a tug drawing Steve’s attention back to his direction. 

"Someone else can handle that, how about you come back over here and we catch up a little." Billy says slowly tugging the cane pleased when Steve moves with it until he is standing over Billy. 

"I'm on the clock, catching up will cost you." Steve says with a raised eyebrow. 

Billy just pulls a roll of bills from his pocket and puts it on the table in front of him before leaning back. "How much of your time will that get me?" Tongue coming out to slide over teeth and lips as his eyes wander over Steve. 

"I'd have to count it to be exact but it probably buys you at least an hour out here and a private dance after if you want it." Steve says sliding into Billy’s lap, careful of his bad leg and something warm curls in Billy’s belly at Steve remembering which knee had been messed up by the horrors of Hawkins. 

Billy gives a low whistle as he lets his cane rest against the chair he is seated on so he can get both hands on Steve’s hips dragging him even closer. "Lucky for you I like expensive things. Now tell me pretty boy what brought you to a place like this."

HOW THE HECK DO YOU ADD A KEEP READING LINE ON MOBILE HNNNG

I dont want to post my thoughts kasi baka may gusto manuod dito pero I might forget all these feelings as well as realizations in the future kaya eto na. The start of the last episode was definitely heavy. I thought we already delve deep into Ung's personality when it is shown how hurt he was being left by his own father as a kid. BUT NO. Hindi pinakita kung ano yung naramdaman niya pagkatapos non. To live as if you're living someone else's life. We always joke how Choi Ung is such a mood when he say things like "I dont want to do anything." "A stressful life is not for me." "Drawing is just a hobby" On the surface, these things might be true, we all want a simple life. But to water down your life and your passion, into a mere hobby, into mere nothing, I think that's where it's different.

I'm not saying it's wrong for you to make something you truly enjoy as a hobby (we all know how messy it can get when you monetize things, the novelty really fades 😬) But in OBS, Choi Ung lives as if he can easily give anything to the world, he doesnt care what he'll lose (heck, a person plagiarized his work and it didnt matter to him). He lives as if nothing matters, even his own happiness and these were all explained on the first half of Episode 16.

Hits so close to home because I am also very passionate about space and I feel like I'm nowhere close to it. It suddenly hit me how worthless I've been living life until now, just winging things because I feel like I dont deserve anything, I feel like I've already been given too much that I can't be greedy for myself. Also feeling all worthless because despite the many things given to me, I can't achieve anything. It's a cycle of feeling worthless of things, not being greedy, just winging life, achieving little, therefore reinforcing the initial thought that I'm worthless of achieving greater things. As with Ung, the cycle must be stopped.

Enough about me. I also liked the fact that Yeon su didnt went with him. Realizing that her life is wonderful as it is. Finally appreciating the little nuances of her life, the little happy moments, and embracing all the love and care she received from all the people around her. TALK ABOUT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT??? Oh how I love endings when the happenings in characters' lives didnt really change that much, it's just that they finally see things in a different light, they finally realized how beautiful life is because it's like that in real life. It rarely, if not never, happen that you meet someone on a remote island that will make you realize how beautiful life is. Or suddenly finding yourself in a weird situation like having to be in a room with someone because of miscommunication etc then later on falling in love with your roommate blah blah. Those are the things we can't control, those are mere fantasies. We cant wait forever for our plot twists to happen, we have to focus on things that are present, things that we can control. If I have one thing that I learned in my 21years of living, that is a mindset can change a lot of things, and small consistent wins are more important than grand change. This is so beautifully shown in OBS huhu

Oh! I faintly recall answering an ask about it, yes. Let’s see, that’s easy to find. The previous ask is here!

After reading my answer from 2019, I still agree with a few things. BUT! I also disagree with my statements from before and present you with new statements. This will be a rather long post because now that I’ve experienced the game so far (to the chapter that I meet Luke) I have some thoughts. 

“I wouldn’t mind seeing what the plot is!”

I agree! The plot honestly has me hooked, I love its concept and it certainly came out with perfect timing relating to “cancel culture” that we’re having problems with today. The only downside I’ve had with it is the inclusion of previous Tales characters every now and then. I don’t like that Milla and Velvet show up for a few seconds and then just leave without anyone questioning it too much. And they never mention them again?? Not to mention they totally drop Cress the moment we think he’s dead. I don’t think Kanata’s said anything to even hint at any grievance of Cress. Leon I don’t mind, he’ll probably come back. And this next Luke plot feels like the main cast is the side cast.

Oh that Reid plot was a thing. I totally forgot about it!

I understand there are side quests to answer some of these questions, but the fact that the MAIN CHARACTERS don't think too much about it doesn’t sit right with me. 

“Character designs I’m…not too excited about?”

I agree and disagree with this statement I’ve previously said. Before I said they don’t feel unified. I still agree with this, but I’ve found it aids the overall inclusion of other franchises in the mix. There’s a huge cast of different designs, might as well do the same to the main cast. 

HOWEVER, regarding Vicious, I’ve warmed up to his design. It expresses his personality really well that I can’t see him in much of anything else. This is a very opposite feeling I have for Velvet who I think was designed solely for the purpose of “looking edgy and hot” and not actually taking into account her personality then make excuses for it in the game. So Vicious is off the hook for me. Mostly!

Yuna is still a bit on my red flag list, I haven’t gotten to know her too well. I still hate the boobs and the kimono pencil skirt. But now there’s the accent. I will be completely honest. I can’t read her lines. I’ve taken a couple French classes so I know what she’s saying, but otherwise it’s really annoying. Currently, it just feels like another way to make her sexy. 

But I now have new nitpicks. Kanata’s design is messy, I’ve thought this since day one but it wasn’t as much of a problem for me until I saw his sprites. The bandage on the hand is useless?????? “Oh it’s to cover his symbol” but Misella and Aegis have their symbol covered by their clothes and it still shows through?  I have things about Kanata. And Misella.

I. Don’t. Understand. Why Misella kept the dress from Kanata’s horrible father? Every friend I know that has trauma (be it sexual or not) gets rid of every single item or piece of entertainment--ANYTHING that person interacted with. Completely gone and avoided. I also don’t know how that trash bag of a human being saw it as attractive. It’s messy and is obviously torn apart (well actually there’s some weird kinks for that), and the only thing really keeping it together is the color scheme. If I don’t look too into it, the design is fine. But there are aspects that annoy me.

And One Extra Criticism 

This ones more of a personal preference... The game is a solid game! And I think it focuses enough on gacha stuff but not forcing it in your face. (I’m waiting until they start collaborating with other franchises, though...) My personal downside to it is that it’s a mobile game. They can’t do as much without a console, so sometimes the skit visuals are limited with what they can do. There have been a few times that I wasn’t quite sure what just happened. 

Also, the announcements popping up unannounced does not agree with my phone. I have a weak phone and weak wifi where I am... So the game can crash on me just from the announcement popping up alone. Imagine having multiple announcements in a row, too. 

And the final thing for me to say is... as good as the plot is with keeping me entertained, the combat does make it get very...boring.... The combat is fun at first! And I love seeing the different moves of different characters. But I personally hate turn-based fights, especially repetitive ones. The fact that they have autoplay and fast-forward buttons shows that they know the battle system can get boring and tedious. Boss fights are at least a little better because you’re more on your toes with trying to keep your characters alive and ganging up on damage before the next turn. But... whenever I see that there’s no story audio, I feel a little disappointed. 

But like I said, this last one is more of a personal preference than an actual criticism. 

I hope this suffices for an answer! Sorry it’s kinda long... And the last thing I want to say is that I really do like Tales of Crestoria! I’ve played it every night when I don’t get lost in Tiktoks... And it’s very fun to see the characters interact with their situations. The plot is also kind of easy for me to predict. Not in a bad way! It just means I look forward to if I’m ever surprised or they take a different turn. 

So compared to when I first heard about it to now, it really has exceeded my expectations.

"Dean, relax! You're going to choke yourself." You say looking at your boyfriend's pale face while he fixes his tie as tight as he could, looking at his reflection in the Impala's window.

"I'd rather do that to you sweetheart, but right now choking myself sounds better than what you're getting me into." You roll your eyes at his adorable honesty, trying to calm your tickling nerves yourself.

"Overreacting. That's what you're doing."

"Y/N Y/L/N, you, miss, do not tell me that I'm overreacting when I'm literally a few feet away from your parents' house. Which, might I add, was your birthday surprise for me." He squints his eyes at you, pursing his lips as he turns to face you to show how grumpy he is.

"Well, sir, you proposed to me in front of your parents, just 24 days ago. I just met them, and you proposed! What if they hated me?"

"But they didn't. It was my new year's surprise for you! And no one can hate you, obviously I was confident about proposing in front of parents." He says with a smug smile, kissing your temples softly.

"Aw sweet. It's just payback. 'Sides no one can hate you too, Winnie." You say as you look up at him with a smile and gesture him to walk to the two storey house in front.

"Don't you call me that," He visibly cringes at the nickname you gave him in a drunken state, back when you two weren't dating. The memory bringing a small, nostalgic smile on his lips, "and well, you hated me when we first met, Y/L/N."

"That's not what you said last night," You wink at him for his first statement, just to see him blush at the memory, "Win-nie." You aren't the boldest one in the deck, but the rare times you are, it leaves Dean all fumbling and flustered.

"Shut up," He mutters, embarrassed as he tries to get the blush off his freckled cheeks, "Let's go and get this done with."

"Hey, you're talking about my parents here!" You say slapping him on his suit clad shoulder, as you both make your way to the porch.

Dean's sweaty palm reaches your wrist as you are about to knock on the door, as he looks down at you nervously. This is important to you both, to him especially. He knows how much your parents matter to you, how much you love them. Dean knows there were things going on with you and your family. He knows you've suffered a lot, had to grow up too fast because of them—intentionally or unintentionally—and you still have it in you to love them and make them a part of such an important time of your life. Dean loves you with all his heart, yes, but this is that one reason which makes him respect you a lot as a person. Family has always been important to Dean, he knows the value of it like most people don't. He knows mistakes happen, he knows it takes a lot to forgive, and you did exactly that. Without any complain. That's what you do, you just give and give and give without demanding anything in return. And Dean is certain, has always been, that he'll give you all the love you deserve, just like you have made it your life's goal to give your fiance all the happiness he deserves.

Even after your troubled past with your family, you couldn't get yourself to have any ill feelings for them. You know that they were doing what they thought was best for you, even though it certainly did the opposite. You never really opened up to your parents, like a kid should, but you know they see little of it and are guilty for forcing you into things you didn't want to do. You are working on your relationship with them, and it was very important for you to share the most important time of your life with them. Introduce them to the most important part of your existence. Dean. The man who taught you to love yourself, the man who taught you that it's okay to be broken, that you didn't always have to be the strong one. The man who taught you to cry again when you felt pain, which you had forgotten to do for years. The man who made you believe that you weren't a curse. The man you love more than life. Dean, your Dean.

"What now?" You scowl up at him, for breaking the courage you mustered to knock that door.

"What if they hate me? What if I don't even understand that they hate me? What do you think they'll do? How will they behave if they didn't like me? Will they tell you to not marry me? Oh my god, Y/N, what if they tell you to not marry me? What if they get you married to someone else? Look, I'm not taking that, okay? I'm not letting anyone take you away from me. But they're your parents, they're even scarier than you. They'll beat the shit out of me with a vacuum cleaner and—" You look up at your man's lightspeed rambling with an amused expression and shut him up with a chaste kiss on his lips. With your hands on his chest, you can feel his fast heartbeats and boy, is he scared. As you kiss him, and make circular patterns on his chest from under his blazer, he relaxes.

You break the kiss and join your forehead with his to look into his puppy dog eyes that remind you so much of his taller little brother, as you cup his cheeks. "You'll be fine." You say in a whisper.

"Promise?" He looks into your eyes, as he brings his pinky finger up near your face, like a little child asking for reassurance would.

"Deany promise." You entangle your little finger with his as you giggle at his childlike beauty. You peck his lips once again before searching your bag for something.

Dean exhale a heavy breath and is about to knock, when you stop him this time. "No please not now," he whined defeatedly, "I mustered a lot of courage for that Y/N, now you'll have to kiss me again."

You grin as you reapply your lipstick and bring one of your face-wipes to his lips, "You don't want dad to see my lipstick on your lips now, do you? He owns a gun," Dean's eyes widen in horror, as he rotates on his heels so fast, it takes you a moment to realize what he's doing, "No to the power of hell, Winchester. Where do you think you're going?"

"Uh..I...um... forgot my Impala in the shoes," You raise your eyebrow at his piss poor excuse of an excuse, "My shoes in the Impala." He grins at you nervously before looking down at his shoes. "Arghh, come on. Issa gun, Y/N" He groans.

"Don't act like you haven't seen a gun ever before, Dean. You literally sleep with one next to your head."

"Yeah, well, sorry I haven't ever been shot by my girlfriend's father. So yes I'm so getting out of here." He narrows his eyes challengingly down at you, the action you reciprocate. He finally breaks the staring contest realizing you aren't taking any shit from him. He slowly starts walking back to baby, ignoring your glare when the front door opens as he hears a woman's voice happily taking your name. "Oh take me with you, Luci" He mutters under his breath the nickname you gave to his biggest enemy, shutting his eyes tight.

"Who is Lucy?" A masculine voice interrupts his moment of nervousness as his eyes widen in fear at the gun-owner he knows the voice belong to.

"Hello, s-s-sir." He turns back to the man standing on the doorway, "I'm D-Dean. And Luci is, well" He smiles nervously, and looks over at you for some sort of help.
