so in kruzty krab newz. today I worked with two of the high school boys. they've been going to the gym, I've been hearing them talk about being sore and what not lately. so today I guess one of the bigger kids felt like a man or something and wanted to stand up for his girlfriend who I disrespected in the past. he's like aggressively slapping the dishes that hold chicken and he made two demands like "put this here" and I forget the other one. I had my headphones in and at one point I heard something, then again, then clearly it's my name he's saying. so I turn, and they're both just looking straight at the wall in the same direction not talking. I'm cringing but I'm letting it slide. one time I'm pretty sure they turned off the chicken timer on me so it would burn or whatever. it's possible I just forgot to hit it, but I'm not even high so I doubt it. then it happens again, and this time the bigger kid is like "sOmEoNe DiDnT sEt Da TiMeR oN iT....." all loud, and then quietly goes ".. what the FUCK!" or something but it was quiet, for sure a hard fuck at the end though. so now I'm like what's the deal and he's like "wat" "the thing you said under your breath, something fuck?" "wat I can't hear u" and I said word I can't hear you either. it's 1:30 at this point and I'm like alright pam I'm gonna head out at 2. she asks why, I ignore her. 2:10~ I'm like ok pam can I talk to you before I go. I can't work with the high school gang anymore. I explain the stupid shit and speculate it's over the problems me and the one boy had in the past. she says "well ur only hurtin urself this is y u gotta com 2 me as soon as things happen.." I'm like I did, this was months ago. she said no that stuff is a "bajillion years ago" [when clearly it's still a problem] "I meant this stuff today" and I'm like ye it was at 1:30 and that's when I told you. and she repeats that I'm only hurtin myself.

if i were not on T I'd be on my period right now
#tmi i know but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#i was considering why i had such an intense craving for chocolate#and my (abnormaly) fucked sleep schedule and the increase in feeling like my skin is too small for my flesh#oh. yeah it's around the middle of the month#i had to miss like a week and a half of T last month while waiting on my new insurance#and i missed a few days at the beginning of October bc i was sick#so now my hormones are all fucked up#anyways. I've been up all night and i don't have go into work until 2. (it's 5:19. i have a four hour shift.)#i think I'll just bite the bullet and stay up because I'm off tomorrow#and obviously i need another day to sleep in because i have the past two days#see this is why i think i dislike night shifts now#yeah I'm not a morning person (store opens at fucking EIGHT. we have to be there at 7:45)#and it's a good two hours before you can expect me to be fully functional#but at least i have something i need to wake up for#otherwise I'm easily sleeping until eleven#i need to find a new job anyways#because I'm getting increasingly annoyed with this one#and i need something that pays better#(ive already gotten a rent notice from my landlord. if we don't pay the back-due 1020 and change we'll receive a 3-day on November 3rd)#but the only fucking things actually hiring around here are either jobs I'm incredibly not qualified for (nursing/trucking) or like. cashier#wich i HAVE been applying for even though i really don't want to#because i was a cashier for four and a half years#and while I'm not fond of being a floor/dept. associate i hate being at a register#(in large part because i can move around to mediate the pain while working the floor#but at a register i just have to grit my teeth and bare it)#this has turned into a vent / life updat now. I'm going to make coffee.#if you know like. online jobs someone with only a ged can do please send them my way#crow.txt

ㅤᡣ𐭩ㅤ◟ the infamous instagram live. . . ! ── gojo satoru ﹕ jujutsu kaisen.
﹙ rookie mistake ﹚ ⊹ being a new-gen actor had its perks. it's easy to gain a fanbase, gain recognition, and easy for your show to go viral. what's not easy, however, is privacy. someone's bound to expose..
love, ‘su › the comments are typed out like “@cuntcarti: heyyy” for authenticity bc i am not recreating a real ig live in smau format #lazy
Tumblr media
“hey guys! what's up?” satoru's oddly close to the camera. his nose being the most prominent feature in everyone's screen.
he's been on tour for jujutsu kaisen's new movie and it's been far too hectic. if it weren't for the luxurious hotel's service, he would've died in between schedule. the hours the crew were allowed to slumber slowly decreased: from eight to five to three to twenty-five minutes — just unnecessarily busy.
aside from experiencing the dark side to being an actor, he enjoys the fame. the attention that comes with it is nothing compared to the lightheaded feelings he feels everytime it's 8pm. being a crazed attention seeker is the main reason why he's live when he really, really should be asleep.
@satonuts: tilt the phone down lets see whats there
@daily-jjk: back up a little..
@nanamiroleplay: how's it been?
@tojiggle: drop the pants
“god forbid a man gets close to his screen,” he jokingly grumbles, shifting his position to laying down on his pillow.
now the view's better: his arm's stretched upwards to allow half of his upper body to be in frame. of course, he's shirtless. what's an attention seeker without being half naked? nothing! there's a small-sized silver chain around his neck; dare the fandom admit, it adds a special flavour... perhaps this shall be their new lockscreen.
@daily-jjk: my fault king
@itasaki: i love you <3 i told my father about us <3
@tojiggle: drop the pants
@crazygetofan: is geto around?
reading the last comment, satoru does the lick -lips-and-bite-lower-lip combination.
“yeah, but he's in the shower—” he pauses and furrows his eyebrows, “no, i'm not gonna show you butt-naked suguru.”
@crazygetofan: worth a shot bye
@stsgshipper25: its bc he's hiding his bf!!
@fushigurosbitch: @stsgshipper25 wym im right here ??
@tojiggle: drop the pants
he doesn't respond to any comments, nor does he make any stupid comment himself. he's silently admiring himself while going through a bunch of saved filters. while satoru was too immersed in loving himself, he failed to notice suguru entering the room.
it's a win-lose situation that'll occur here. the win is obviously suguru making his entry which would mean that he'd join in satoru's live. the lose here is that he has a big mouth. suguru's mouth talks before his mind analyzes the outcome of what he'll say.
suguru walks over to the space in between his bed and satoru's, fiddling with the items on the bedside table until his hands fall on satoru's wallet. like a moth to a flame, he mindlessly opens it, counting the bills and how much it totals up to.
“damn, satoru, you only have ninety dollars?”
“don't out me like that, bro,” a sigh leaves satoru, “there's a reason i have a card.”
“alright bro.”
@crazygetofan: show me my man
@jjkhateropbetter: nah dawg u broke
@tojiggle: drop the pants
@satonuts: @tojiggle QUIT IT
“anyway guys,” satoru stands up, “let's have a mukbang.”
walking towards the television stand, satoru slams his hand on the chips, gripping it like it's the last time he'll ever have a meal. once he acquired his meal, he goes back to the bed, propping the phone with stacked pillows so he's in frame when he sits.
suguru can be seen in the background, pacing around the room in a white robe that's loosely tied. this was more than enough for the geto suguru fans that joined satoru's live for that purpose.
“wait bro,” suguru calls out to satoru but doesn't turn to him. he's occupied with rubbing moisturiser into his cheeks vigorously.
satoru hums, acknowledging his roomate. he, too, doesn't look at suguru.
“did you get the thing for (y/n)? you've been talking about that all day.”
satoru's silent. this time he's not falling in love with himself. the chip that's halfway into his mouth falls. can he consider this to be doxxing? no way suguru just did him like that.
“...oh come on, bro.” his shoulders drop. a clear indication of disappointment.
as suguru's still has his back turned to satoru, he's unaware of his expression and thinks that his comment was meant for him to shut up about the gift/souvenir. after all, suguru has been teasing satoru about it.
“seriously? you still haven't figured out what to get your girlfriend? lame ass.”
“can you say it any louder?!”
“YOUR GIRL— what the fuck?”
satoru forces him silent by throwing the air conditioner's remote at him. it worked, kind of. if only it had an effect on his rapidly beating heart. he's now anxious and a tad bit afraid to look at the comments.
slowly, his eyes glance at the comments. they sure are coming in fast!
@itasaki: killing myself <3
@fuckgojo_wasdailyjjk: cant have shit on earth
@jjkhateropbetter: nah dawg u gonna get jumped
@tojiggle: don't drop the pants
@miadollypie: check out twitter link in bio for spicy stuff
@chosoballs: couldnt be my man!
@kystoru: @chosoballs thats why yo bitch dying next season
@chosoballs: ?
@fwkuna: love seeing ppl i hate miserable
@fushigurosbitch: they gonna break up next two weeks
@satonuts: guys rmbr we do not know satoru irl, be nice
@fwkuna: @satonuts ykdw ur crying on the inside
@satonuts: @fwkuna DIE
the comments are overflowing in such a speed that it overwhelms even satoru. he swallows hard, switching his eyes to suguru.
suguru's back to busying himself with his skincare routine, unaware of the damages he's done.
‘fuck,’ he curses in his mind, nervously laughing before he speaks up.
“oh boy, would you look at the time!” he says ever-so enthusiastically. “i'll see you guys later, sleep well, ‘kay?”
“huh? why'd you end it?” the damager dealer questions, turning around to finally face satoru with a charcoal facemask on. it's good for whiteheads!
“ask one more fucking questions and i'm killing us both.”
the aggressive comments makes suguru recoil. he didn't expect that — he's also confident that he did nothing of the sort to result in such violence.
“damn, did she block you or something? i get it, i get it. i'd be mad too.” he nods, showing satoru that he understands and feels for his friend.
satoru's face twists in annoyance. the man gifts suguru a middle finger before he moves the chips onto the bedside table.
he's tired now. not in the sleepy way, though. in the ‘what am i gonna do now’ way. nothing good comes up in mind to lessen the damage on the internet, so he falls back on the bed.
with his phone face down and an arm over his eyes, he tries his best to sleep.

Asymetrical Symphony - Part 21
Tumblr media
Universe: Arcane (LOL)
Pairing: Viktor x reader
Summary: You had been on the rooftop with Jayce and the Herald and somehow you were sent to a place where things can be different with your help
Disclaimers and Warnings: If you want me to tag you on the chapters let me know! Also leave a comment with your thoughts :D Not finished, not proofread. English isn't my 1st language. All I know about LOL is from google and all I know about Arcane is taken from the show, so inacuracies will be plenty. I have a sort of idea on how to I'm gonna go with magic and runes, so bear with me. The reader will be written as GN (going by they/them) to get everyone involved, but if you see any discrepancies let me know

• ··········· • ············ •
The night was bright, the moon and the stars illuminating the room at the Academy you were now standing in. You were sitting on a wheely bench, swaying from side to side, your fancy attire contrasting with the uniformed man sitting beside you.
The blackboard in front of you was filled with a familiar chicken scratch. You grinned at it. Man is a genius, but gods forbid he wrote anything legible. There was a 3D schematic next to the list.
"What was that shape again?" You asked, smiling mischievously, and heard the Zaunite scientist chuckle low after sighing.
"It is a dodecahedron."
"Say it again."
He snorted, looked you dead in the eye, and said it again, accentuating every syllable.
"Do-de-ca-he-dron."
"Sounds much better when you say it." You winked and saw his face redden quickly. It was cute, and you had recently found you enjoyed his cuteness. You wanted to pull this side of him out more.
You’d met a while ago; you being one of Jayce’s old friends, he took no time to introduce you to his new lab partner. And you two took no time in becoming entangled. You didn’t believe in love at first sight, but the attraction was there.
Looking away from the man, you studied the blackboard. Your head tilted to the side, your perfectly shaped eyebrows furrowing in curiosity.
You’d been drawn to it as soon as you entered the dark Tallis Lab. The dinner at the mansion had become boring, and you'd decided to disrupt Viktor's evening with your presence. Not that he minded; at least it wasn't what his tired smile told you when he opened the door to the lab to find you there, staring with an overly innocent smile on your face.
He had invited you in and told you to wait for a couple of minutes until he was done with his work. That had been an hour and a half ago, and at some point, he stopped apologizing.
And now here you were, hypnotically staring into a badly erased blackboard, with something written on it and a schematic that did nothing but fill you with curiosity. So much so that you got up from your seat next to Viktor to stand in front of it.
“It is not a painting in a museum, you know.” His voice came from behind you, the telltale sounds of him getting up and walking toward you loud in the empty lab.
"I do have to find something to do while waiting for a certain Undercity scientist to find out I'm waiting on him." You bit back at him and heard him chuckle as he limped towards you. “Besides, exactly how many museums have you ever visited?”
His hand snaked around your waist and stayed there, pulling you gently into him. You felt the scent of oil, parchment, and coffee coming out of him along with a smile on his lips as he breathed you in and nuzzled up to your neck, the ghost of a kiss near your ear making you smile.
"Maybe you'd like to take me to some sometime."
"Sure, should I schedule that before or after your 24-hour shift in the lab?" You looked sideways at him, and he shook his head; a tired sigh was the only thing that came out of him, though.
“What is it anyway?” You felt him place his chin on your shoulders, and you grabbed his forearm, making soft circles on his skin. “Not the shape…the whole thing.”
“The core facets of the arcane.” He simply hummed, his fingers drawing lazily, stroking your waist as he swayed you both gently from side to side. “It is for a project I’m working on. But most of these we add to the hex gems for them to work.”
"And what is this project you are working on?" He shrugged.
"I cannot say. If it all goes well, it can change everything."
"Everything?" He nodded confidently. "Well, reaching for the stars, aren't we?"
"Well, funny enough, one of those symbols is for the moon." He traced a symbol in the air, and you realized that the bullets from the bullet list were, in fact, symbols.
“You need to get better at writing so that someone else can read it.” You squinted at the blackboard.
“Jayce can read it, and that's all that matters.” You felt him shrug nonchalantly.
If Viktor's words were a pain to read, the smaller scratches next to them were downright impossible to decipher.
“What are they? The facets I mean.”
He straightened up but didn’t move, only adjusting his crutch and his grip on you to find a good position. The back of your head rested against his chest, and you felt his slow breathing.
“The first are the natural facets: air, earth, fire, and water. Then the heavenly bodies: the moon and the sun. And then the forces of magic: chaos and order.”
“That’s eight of them. The dodecahedron has twelve sides. You finished the question with a kiss on his jaw.
“We are still trying to figure out the rest.”
“I guess you two have to do something inside this big room to warrant the absurd amount of money you are being given by the Academy.” You joked and looked at him as his eyes dropped to you disapprovingly. “I’m joking. Tell me more.”
“We have come to some conclusions.” He started, his voice becoming animated. “For example, magic in itself cannot kill or give life, because you cannot kill a rock or bring a rock to life. But if certain sediments find themselves in the right order, a rock can be created, the same way that if something chaotic happens in the process, the rock may not be a rock at all. It becomes corrupt.”
“Are we bribing a rock now?” You joked, and he moved his fingers on your waist, tickling you and making you shriek.
“Not that type of corruption. Think of it as any condition that can deteriorate something.”
“Why aren’t those two in there? Create and corrupt?”
“Chaos and order…”
“No…” you argued, lifting a finger to shush him. “Chaos and order are different things. Chaos doesn’t necessarily corrupt, and order doesn’t create. You can create through chaos and corrupt through order.”
Viktor stayed silent for a while, biting the inside of his cheek in contemplation. After a few minutes, he disentangled himself from you, and an impressed expression showed on his face, which you returned with a smug one. He walked over to the board and wrote what you assume were those two words with white chalk.
“If we add corruption as something that deteriorates…then we must add what deteriorates the most.” He pointed the chalk to you, and you raised your eyebrows. “Time.”
“If you add time, you might as well add space. Like... physical space... distances, dimensions, measurements, and whatnot.” You walked over to him, grabbed the chalk, and added your suggestion. "If you physically place a rock in a location with the right conditions, it can become a pebble."
“I’ll make a scientist out of you someday.” He grabbed your hand and placed the chalk on its little sill under the board.
“Yuck.” You grimaced dramatically. “And be stuck in this dark hole with y’all without getting the chance to leave whenever I want? Blah... thanks, I’ll pass.”
“I could make your time spent in this lab very much worth it." He took a small step towards you. "After hours, that is…”
You raised an eyebrow at his forwardness. This whole thing between you two was weeks long, and although Viktor's demeanor was a little cold and collected most of the time, he liked to throw these jabs just to see your reaction.
“Why spend that time at the lab when there's a perfectly good mansion?” You grinned, and he rolled his eyes jokingly.
Viktor’s cold hands came up to your face and held it, gently looking into your eyes with a loopy, tired smile, his thumbs caressing your cheekbones. He moved a piece of hair from your forehead, gently caressed the space between your brows, and placed a kiss there.
“What if it is just a little bedroom over at the Academy dorms?” He whispered into your ear, and you smiled, moving so you could look at him.
“It'll do, I guess...” You joked, and he laughed, grabbing your hand and moving you towards the workstation.
You saw him go around the lab turning machines off, placing schematics in drawers. He grabbed his satchel and placed a couple of those in there with his notebook and pencil.
Before walking out the door, you looked back at the board, still curious about that subject. Your neat handwriting in the middle of Viktor's.
'Space'
"Are you hearing me?" Viktor asked, snapping you out of your reverie.
"No... I never do really. I'm just here for the pretty face." He blushed and grabbed your hand, pulling you out of the lab, already rambling about the hexgate inauguration and how much he didn’t want to go.

[1:08 pm]
(cw: a baby, parenthood, (gn!reader))
Fatherhood was something that dad!Doyoung never thought he could ever be ready for. He'd never been around babies! He didn't know how to change diapers. He didn't want to change diapers. He couldn't imagine going a day with a 3 hours of sleep. He couldn't imagine your usual calm home being filled with crying and the wailing of a baby. He wasn't sure if he'd ever be comfortable holding such a fragile little thing. It was overwhelming for him to say the very least. He felt as if he'd never be prepared.
But despite all his worrying and anxieties, he'd overcome all that. His and the baby's sleep schedule had slowly but surely started getting back to normal. As normal as it could get with a baby boy waking up at the ass crack of dawn to eat. The diapers also hadn't gotten easier, but Doyoung was more used to it now. He was used to holding the baby now, and he was a complete natural.
The only thing that had gotten better, and subsequently gotten worse after a few weeks, was the crying. There had been a few weeks of pure bliss. The crying was normal, the baby was hungry, needed a diaper change, or hungry. But then, god, god of course you both knew it was coming, but you had hoped it would take a few more months like your friends kids did. The teething.
There was not enough numbing gel, teething rings, teething toys, teething tablets, frozen wash cloths, or teething snacks to sooth your poor baby's sore gums. This was one of the things you'd failed to think about. For the people around you it happened around 8 or 9 months, your poor baby boy was 6 months, today.
You were having a small, intimate group of people over to celebrate your son's half birthday. Just some dinner and cake.
Doyoung was talking to Johnny with his son on his lap, bouncing his son on his knee when the very familiar whining and whimpers started. "Honey! The gel is wearing off!" Doyoung called out to you.
You dug around the freezer, "None of his toys are in here! Did you remember to put them in?"
Doyoung sighed, he had forgotten. He was so busy helping you set up while your son was down for his nap, he had forgotten. He knew he had forgotten something!
You sent him one of your well-known "what did I tell you?" looks and handed him the teething gel before going back to your conversation with his brother.
"Sorry, this will only take a second. Anyway, I was just saying how the book is really well written..." Doyoung continued his conversation with his pointer finger rubbing over the baby's gums.
Johnny stared at the baby with a humorous gaze. The baby hummed and gurgled happily as he held Doyoung's finger in his mouth and gnawed on it. Doyoung was hilariously unphased, forgoing his mission of applying the teething gel and just letting the baby chew on his finger.
"Anyway, I think you'd really like the book. Do you want to borrow it?" Doyoung asked with raised brows.
Johnny chuckled, "I'm sorry I wasn't listening. I was just watching little man go to town on your finger."
"This will hurt a lot more when his teeth are fully out, but they're just breaking through. I don't even mind it- but the drool. The drool is the real problem, I think. We have to change his bib at least 5 times a day," Doyoung explains while wiping up a string of baby saliva.
"You're a good dad, Doyoung," Johnny smiles, clapping Doyoung's shoulder.
You caress your son's wet cheek and kiss Doyoung's , "he's the best."

9k words
*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚
The warm sand felt soft against your feet, the gentle waves lapping at the shore. The sun was settling, casting a golden glow over everything. You were laughing, you don’t know what from, but Rafe was beside you, smiling, his eyes filled with softness. Rafe's arms wrapped tightly around you, holding you close as he spun you in slow circles, laughter mingling with the sound of the ocean. He pulled you closed, gently kissing your lips and whispering sweet nothings into your ear. You were dressed in white, almost like ghosts in a beautiful, ethereal world.
Rafe leaned in, his forehead resting against yours, “I want you forever Y/N. Even when I’m gone I’ll still be with you.”
Before you could respond, a loud powerful jarring sound shattered the peaceful scene. The scene faded away and turned black and you groaned and opened your eyes. You padded your bed around you searching for your phone trying to turn off your god-awful 7:30 am alarm. Early mornings are going to be the death of me, you thought.
You instinctively pulled your cover back over your head, dreading the day ahead. Dress shopping for midsummer’s… perfect. With only a week and a half to go, you already dreaded the thought of the superficial conversations that were bound to happen.
You try to hold onto the sweet memories of your dream but it is suddenly ruined when your mom yells down the hall.
“Y/N time to get up! We are already behind schedule, we are leaving in an hour for the boutique”
You groaned, slamming your face into the pillow and then pulling yourself up to start preparing for the day. You can already imagine your mom with her cup of coffee in her hand criticizing every dress you pull off the rack. Your parents were very particular when it came to a lot of things but the main thing was presentation; they hated it when you dressed in “pogue” attire. Hence why dress shopping is so important to your mom, it validates to her that there is still hope for you. You rolled your eyes at the thought of her voice in your head but smiled, knowing it was easier to just go along with her sometimes.
-
The boutique was glowing with varying colors, patterns, and dress types; it was overwhelming. From rack to rack, your mother picked out various dresses and styles for you, ushering you to the changing room to try on every single one.
You spent what felt like hours trying on dresses, in and out of the changing rooms, accumulating a small pile of maybes. Finally, as you were about to call it a day, your mom came over with a navy satin, backless dress with a bow detail.
“Now I'm not a fan of the backless back but I do think the bow in the back ties it all together,” she said as you slipped it on. But when you turned to the mirror, the fit was perfect. It was the one. Scenarios played in your head on how Rafe would react seeing you in this dress, so tight fitting and revealing, you know it would make him ogle.
“I agree Mom, this has to be it,”  you said smiling running your hands down the dress.
Your mom was about to respond when you felt goosebumps begin to rise on the back of your neck like someone was watching you.
You quickly glanced around in the mirror at the surrounding store as your eyes locked with Chris’s.
Oh god, you got to be kidding me, you thought. Out of all places, this is where you see him? He must be with his mom and sister or something.
A twinge of nostalgia immediately began to coarse through you. You quickly looked away, pretending not to notice him, but of course, he noticed you—and began walking over, giving you his typical polite smile.
“Oh my gosh is that Christopher Phillips?!” Your mom whipped around, beaming with recognition. She practically jogged over to greet him, her eyes lighting up with that motherly approval. She quickly pulled him into a hug. “Christopher! How are you? Look at you, still as handsome as always!”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes, your mom failed to acknowledge boundaries sometimes.
“Hello Mrs. Chastain, it is great to see you, you look fantastic!” he said as he pulled away, quickly glancing over at you as well.
“Oh please Christopher, call me Linda. You're still such a charmer. Anyway, Y/N is just trying on some dresses for Midsummer but I’ll let you old love birds catch up, I’ll just be right over there” She pointed to a random corner, and knowing her we would still be eye-shot. As I’ve said before… she is a huge fan of Chris.
As she eagerly waltzed away, Chris visibly got a bit nervous shoving his hands in his pockets, clearing his throat.
“Hey Y/N, uh, I wasn’t expecting to run into you, you look great,” he said gesturing to your dress, his voice carrying a hint of the awkwardness that hung over you guys even after the breakup.
“Yeah, Chris, good to see you too,” you said, keeping a neutral smile. The idea of catching up as old friends was tempting, but you could tell by his eyes that lingering feelings were still there, and you didn’t want to stir them up.
“So, are you going to Midsummer?” he asked, trying to make conversation.
“Yeah, I am. You?”
“Same,” he replied, nodding with a tight smile.
Silence settled between you. You were about to excuse yourself when he cleared his throat. “Are you… seeing anyone new?” he asked, his voice a bit too casual.
Your heart skipped a beat, and you forced a neutral expression. “Nope. You?” As you spoke, a flicker of guilt stirred. Rafe was still in the back of your mind, his presence lingering, tugging at the corners of your thoughts. The memory of his touch was enough to make you blush, but you couldn’t say any of that—not to Chris, and not to anyone else.
He hesitated, noticing your sudden change in demeanor, then shook his head. “Nope.” He looked away noticing your mom eagerly waiting with prying eyes,  “Anyway, it was good to see you, take care. I’ll see you around, I guess.”
“Yeah. See you around,” you said, relieved as he walked away.
God that was so awkward
-
You stepped out of the boutique with your mom, your newly purchased dress slung over one arm. The bright afternoon sun made you squint, and you took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air after what felt like hours spent in stuffy fitting rooms.
"Well," your mom said, eyeing you with satisfaction, "now that we’ve got that settled, we can get on to the important things, like accessorizing.” She gave a little smile, seeming more pleased with you than usual.
You smiled, barely listening as your mind drifted back to your encounter with Chris. Why here, of all places?
Just then, a familiar voice called out across the street. "Y/N! Hey, Y/N!"
You turned to see JJ striding over, his hands shoved casually in his pockets, but his expression lighting up when he saw you. As he reached you, his gaze darted between you and your mom, a flicker of mischief in his eyes as he took in your shopping bags.
“Oh,” your mom said, straightening, “this must be one of your…friends.” Her voice held that edge she always had when she saw you talking to Pogues. She gave him a quick, tight smile. "Well, Y/N, I'll just grab a coffee down the street. You two…catch up. I'll be waiting in the car." Her heels clicked against the pavement as she walked away, looking back just once before disappearing into the café.
Once she was gone, JJ grinned. “Nice to see I’m still charming the Kooks, as always.”
You rolled your eyes but laughed. “You have that effect.”
“So, what’s all this?” He pointed to the bags with a teasing smirk. “Getting ready for Midsummer? Gotta say, I never pictured you as the ‘princess of Kooklandia’ type.”
“Oh, very funny,” you said, nudging him. “Yes, it’s for Midsummers. My mom practically forced me to come out today.”
“Lucky me, running into you, then,” he said, shoving his hands back in his pockets and giving you an easy smile. “So, how’s it going? You look…like you’ve been through it.”
You shrugged, laughing a little, but your voice softened. “I actually just ran into Chris.”
JJ’s face fell, the teasing look replaced by concern. “Wait, Chris? Like…Chris Chris?”
“Yeah,” you replied, the awkwardness of it making you cringe all over again. “It was…strange. He was trying to be nice, but I don’t know. It just reminded me of how I’ve changed, you know?”
JJ nodded slowly, eyes narrowing as if weighing his words. “Y/N, listen. Be careful with those Kook guys—no offense, but they can be a lot. And Chris…he’s bound to have feelings still, so just, you know…keep an eye out.”
You raised an eyebrow, surprised by the intensity of his reaction. “JJ, he’s harmless. We were just talking.”
“Yeah, maybe,” JJ muttered, rubbing the back of his neck, “but I don’t know. You’ve seemed kinda distant lately. Like…you’re around, but not. Got me worried, is all.”
Just as you were about to respond, your phone buzzed in your pocket. You glanced down, your pulse picking up slightly as Rafe’s name flashed across the screen.
Been thinking about you. What are you up to? The message was simple but meant everything, and you couldn’t stop the faint smile that crept onto your face as you typed back a quick reply, your heart beating just a little faster.
JJ’s voice snapped you out of the moment. “Uh-oh,” he said, smirking as he watched your expression shift. “That look’s usually reserved for the extra-rich Kooks.”
You quickly pocketed your phone, fighting to keep your expression neutral. “What look?”
He rolled his eyes. “Come on, Y/N. I may not be a Kook, but I know you well enough to see when something’s got you all…happy like that.”
You let out a laugh, shrugging it off. “It’s nothing. Just someone I know.”
JJ gave you a curious look, his playful smirk softening as he studied you. “Well, whoever it is, I hope they’re good enough for you. Just don’t go getting lost in Kooklandia too long. Us Pogues kinda need you”
The genuine concern in his eyes made your heart twist slightly, and you nodded, touched by his words. “I won’t, JJ. Promise.”
A flash of relief crossed his face, and he returned your smile with a lopsided grin, nudging you playfully. “Alright, princess, get out of here before your mom thinks I’m corrupting you or something.”
You laughed, shaking your head as you said goodbye, his words lingering in your mind as you headed to the car.
-
During dress shopping earlier, your phone had buzzed with a text from Sarah, asking if you wanted to hang out. She went on about an argument she’d had with Topper, making it sound both dramatic and all too familiar. You’d texted back, agreeing to come over once shopping was done, already bracing yourself for whatever rant awaited you.
Your mom is currently driving to the Cameron's residence as she droned on about Midsummer's etiquette and the importance of making a good impression.
“Don’t worry, honey, I’ll pick you up in a few hours. We can get lunch and talk more about Midsummers,” she said as she unlocked the car. But her phone buzzed just as she opened the door. She glanced at it, frowning.
“Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me…” She sighed, her voice turning business-like. “They need me at the hospital honey. I’m so sorry, would you be able to grab a ride home.”
“Yeah, of course. Don’t worry, Mom, I understand. I’ll ask Sarah if she can drive me,” you replied, secretly grateful for the change of plans. You’d had enough of Midsummer's talk to last a lifetime.
She gave you a sympathetic smile, and as you shut the passenger door, you watched her drive away, feeling relieved. But that feeling quickly gave way to nerves as you noticed Rafe’s truck parked in front of the house. Of course, he’d be here, you thought, trying to keep your pulse steady.
Once your mom was out of sight, you made your way up the Cameron's all-too-familiar staircase. You hadn’t been here since that night—when you’d drunkenly found yourself in Rafe’s room. The memories flickered back, and you thought you caught a faint hint of his cologne lingering in the air. You passed by his door, stealing a glance, but it was empty, the bed neatly made. Maybe he’s out with Topper or Kelce by the pool, you mused, trying to shake the thrill of knowing he was nearby.
Reaching Sarah’s room, you barely had time to knock before she flung open the door, grabbing your arm and pulling you onto the bed beside her. “Finally!” she exclaimed, tossing her phone onto the bed as she settled in next to you. “You have no idea how badly I needed to see you today.”
“Really?” you laughed, stretching out beside her. “What’s going on?”
“Ugh, where do I even start?” She let out a dramatic sigh, flopping back against her pillows. “The guys are outside right now, so I can’t be too loud, but Topper and I had the stupidest argument last night. He gets jealous of everything—it’s unreal. Sometimes I think he’s the insecure one, not me! He saw me talking with John B near the docks and now he’s convinced I’m sneaking around behind his back!”
Your eyebrows shot up. “John B?” That was news to you. John B and Sarah had never shown much interest in each other before—or at least, not that you’d noticed.
Sarah nodded, biting her lip with a mischievous smile. “Yeah, he and I talked a bit last week, and honestly, I kind of liked it. He’s so…different from Topper, you know? But I swear, I wasn’t doing anything sketchy. Topper just freaked out and, ugh, it’s such a mess.”
You couldn’t help but imagine how the Pogues would react if they knew about Sarah’s budding friendship with John B. It was complicated enough with your friendship with them, let alone…well, your situation with Rafe. The Pogues wouldn’t exactly be thrilled to know you were sneaking around with the one person they despised most.
“Wow,” you said, trying to sound casual. “I just can’t picture John B with a Kook like…well, like us, honestly.”
Sarah laughed, rolling her eyes. “I know, right? It’s complicated.”
“Speaking of complicated…” you began, realizing you hadn’t yet told her about the day’s chaos. “I ran into Chris today.”
Her eyes widened, surprise flashing across her face. “Chris? No way. How did that go?”
You gave her a tight smile. “Awkward, mostly. He was…polite, I guess, but I could tell there was something else. I don’t think he’s over it. He even asked if I was seeing anyone new.”
Sarah groaned, shaking her head. “Classic Chris. He’s just trying to find an excuse to come back into your life.”
“Maybe,” you admitted, “but I had to lie and say no. And that made it even worse because…”
You paused, hesitating. Sarah propped herself up on her elbow, eyes narrowing. “Because what?”
You took a deep breath, feeling your pulse quicken. “Because I snuck out with Rafe last night.”
Sarah’s eyes went wide, and a slow smile spread across her face. “Oh my god, what? Go on!”
“He came to my house, tapping on my window like a total maniac.” You laughed at the memory, but your voice softened as you remembered what had happened next. “We ended up going for ice cream and walking on the pier. He…he told me he wanted to try with me, you know? Like, actually give it a shot. And I said yes, Sarah. I told him I liked him.”
Sarah’s expression shifted, a mix of excitement and caution. “Wow…okay, so this is getting serious, huh?”
“Yeah,” you admitted, feeling a flutter of nervousness at her words. “It feels…different.”
Sarah sighed, looking at you with a gentle but wary smile. “I get it. Rafe can surprise you sometimes. But be careful, Y/N. He’s my brother, and I love him, but…he can be unpredictable.”
“I know,” you replied, grateful for her understanding. “But right now, I just…I don’t know. I feel happy.”
Just then, a familiar voice drifted through the open window from the backyard, and your stomach did a flip. Rafe’s unmistakable laugh mixed with Topper and Kelce’s voices, the sound sending a thrill through you.
Sarah noticed, smirking. “He’s right out there, you know.”
You rolled your eyes, feeling a blush creep up your cheeks. “Ugh, I know. But we’re trying to keep things secret, remember?”
“Sure, sure,” she teased, winking.
You both laughed, and the conversation drifted to other things. But as you glanced out the window, you saw Rafe and the guys heading inside, his attention focused on his phone. Sarah’s voice faded into the background as you heard him walk through the house and up the stairs, heart thudding as you wondered if he might notice you.
Excusing yourself with a quick “I got to go to the bathroom,” you slipped out of Sarah’s room, making your way quietly down the hall. Just as you rounded the corner, you nearly collided with Rafe, who looked up in surprise, his lips curving into that familiar smirk.
“Whoa, well this is a surprise, what are you doing around here, pretty girl?” he murmured, voice low and teasing. “Sneaking into my house just to see me?”
You rolled your eyes, unable to hide your smile. “I’m best friends with your sister, dumbass. You’re the one who’s supposed to be downstairs with your friends.”
Rafe leaned casually against the wall, his hair still damp and tousled from the pool, water droplets catching on his tan skin, his arms toned and relaxed. He flashed you that familiar, mischievous grin. “Kelce and Topper just headed out, so I guess that leaves us. Think you can handle it?”
Your heart skipped a beat as he closed the space between you, the playful glint in his eyes making it clear he knew exactly what he was doing.
You opened your mouth to answer, but his hand was already reaching for yours, pulling you into his room. The familiar thrill of being this close, in a place where you could be caught any second by Ward or Rose, made your pulse race.
“You know,” he murmured sitting on his bed pulling you between his legs, his voice barely above a whisper, “I’ve been thinking about you all day.”
“Yeah?” You tried to keep your voice steady running your hand down his chest, even as your heart raced. “What about me?”
He chuckled softly, his thumb tracing circles on the back of your hand. “Everything. The way you laugh, the way you look at me…” He paused, leaning in just enough that you could feel his breath against your skin. “The way you make it really hard to keep my hands off you.”
You swallowed, feeling the warmth spread through you. “Who said you have to?”
A slow grin spread across his face leaning in to capture a kiss, and for a moment, everything else faded away—the house, Sarah, the risks of being caught. It was just the two of you.
But then, footsteps echoed from the stairwell, and you both sprang apart, glancing nervously down the hall. Rafe gave you a quick wink, his eyes dancing with mischief.
Rose’s voice called down the hall, clear and firm. “Sarah! Rafe! Y/N! Dinner’s ready!”
Rafe pulled back, his lips just inches from yours, his playful expression turning to one of frustration. “Of course,” he muttered, a wry smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Before you could respond, Sarah’s footsteps sounded from the other side of the hall, followed by a quick knock on the bathroom door down the hall. “Hey Y/N dinner’s ready! Rafe, dinners ready. Come on, let’s go!”
Rafe raised an eyebrow, smirking as he glanced at you. Then, with his best impression of an annoyed brother, he called out, “I’ll be down in a few, Sarah!”
Satisfied, Sarah’s footsteps faded down the stairs, and in an instant, Rafe’s arms pulled you back toward him. His lips found yours again, the urgency even stronger now.  The thrill of secrecy rushed through you as his fingers tangled in your hair, his touch somehow gentle and desperate at the same time.
“Alright, you really need to go now,” he whispered between kisses, his voice thick with reluctance.
“You don’t make it easy,” you murmured, smiling against his lips. Finally, you pulled back, running a hand through your hair as you gathered yourself, fixing your clothes.
Taking a deep breath, you slipped out of his room, glancing over your shoulder one last time to see him watching you with that signature smirk.
-
When you entered the dining room, the Cameron family was gathered around the table, and Rose flashed you a warm smile. Sarah was already seated, chatting with Wheezie, who was recounting some story with animated hand gestures. You slipped into the seat between Sarah and Rose, offering a polite smile to Ward as he nodded in greeting.
“Glad you could join us, Y/N,” Ward said, his tone warm. “We don’t get to see you around here often enough.”
“Thank you for having me, Mr. Cameron,” you replied, feeling a bit more at ease as Rafe entered the room and took the seat across from you. His expression was casual, but the glint of mischief in his eyes was unmistakable. As he sat down, his foot tapped against your thigh under the table, and your cheeks flushed.
Dinner began with light conversation, Rose asking about school, and Ward making polite inquiries about your family. The food was excellent, and for a while, you settled into the cozy atmosphere, almost able to ignore Rafe’s occasional gaze across the table and the flutter it stirred in you.
“So, Y/N,” Rose began, setting down her fork and smiling at you with that piercing, Kook-perfect smile. “I’m assuming you’ll be going to Midsummers? Did you end up finding a dress?”
“Oh, uh, yes! Just today, actually,” you replied, hoping to sound casual despite your racing heart.
She nodded approvingly. “Wonderful! Midsummers is such an important event, especially for making connections. Do you have a date lined up yet?”
The question caught you off guard, and you took a quick sip of water, trying to keep calm. “Not yet,” you replied, glancing down at your plate to avoid looking at Rafe.
“Oh, what about that young man you were seeing before?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. “What was his name? Chris, right?
The mention of his name made both you and Sarah choke on your drinks at the same time. Sarah quickly recovered, covering her laughter with a cough, but your cheeks burned as you struggled to respond.
“Oh, uh, we’re…we’re not together anymore,” you managed, giving Rose a small, tight smile. You could feel Rafe’s eyes on you, though you didn’t dare look up.
Rose’s eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise. “Oh, I see. Well, no matter. I’m sure you’ll find a date—someone with a good head on his shoulders,” she added, her gaze lingering a bit too long on Rafe as if expecting him to say something.
Rafe cleared his throat, his expression unreadable as he casually picked at his food. “I’m sure Y/N will be the best-dressed one there,” he said smoothly, his tone calm but laced with a subtle edge. The mention of Chris hadn’t gone unnoticed, and a hint of jealousy flickered in his eyes.
The comment hung in the air for a moment before Ward chuckled, drawing the attention back to himself. “Well, I thinkit’s great that you’ll be attending, Y/N. Midsummers is a special event. It really brings out the best in everyone.”
“Yes, sir. My family is excited about it—it’s all my mom has been talking about,” you replied, chuckling as you offered Ward a polite smile, eager to steer the conversation away from your love life, especially with one of the culprits sitting directly across from you.
-
As the meal continued, Rose turned her attention to Sarah, her smile a little too fixed as she asked, “So, Sarah, I heard you were spotted down at the docks last week with…what’s his name? John B?”
The question dropped into the conversation like a stone, and Sarah froze, her fork hovering mid-air. You felt your pulse quicken as you glanced over at her, sensing the shift in the atmosphere.
“Oh, that?” Sarah laughed, shrugging nonchalantly. “We just ran into each other. It was nothing.” She was doing her best to act casual, but you could tell Rose wasn’t convinced.
“Well, it just seems like…an unusual friendship, doesn’t it?” Rose remarked, her voice light, though her eyes were sharp and watchful.
“Considering his father’s…reputation.”
Sarah’s jaw tightened as she replied evenly, “John B’s not like that. He just…runs with a different group of people, that’s all.”
Ward set his glass down, nodding thoughtfully. “That’s true. John B’s worked well with us, especially on the boats. He’s shown some responsibility.” He paused, looking between you and Sarah. “But I’d hate for either of you to get caught up in their habits—like sneaking around and stretching the truth. It’s just not the kind of influence we want for you two.”
You exchanged a quick, uneasy glance with Sarah, sensing that Ward’s words held more weight than they seemed to on the surface. The underlying warning was clear.
Rose’s attention shifted to you, her eyes narrowing with curiosity. “And you, Y/N, seem to spend quite a bit of time with the Pogues, don’t you?” she asked, gesturing lightly. “How would you describe their…character?”
The question hung in the air, and you could feel the unspoken judgment. You hesitated, thinking about how to explain it without stirring more suspicion. “They’re…genuine,” you said slowly, choosing your words carefully. “They’re rough around the edges, maybe, but they’re loyal, and they don’t pretend to be something they’re not.” You looked down, aware of Ward and Rose’s scrutiny. “They’re just good people, in their own way.”
Rafe cleared his throat, breaking the tension. “Come on, Rose, it’s just a friendship,” he said, his tone casual yet carrying a hint of protectiveness as he glanced at you. “It’s not like either of them are running off with the Pogues and getting into trouble.”
Ward’s silence lingered, his frown subtle but clear. “It’s not the friendships themselves that concern me,” he said at last, eyes settling on Sarah and then you, “but the sneaking around and secrets. That’s what’s…disappointing.”
-
Just as the conversation drifted back to more mundane topics, Ward turned his attention to you. “Actually, Y/N, there’s something I wanted to ask you about. Your father’s company—he does business in real estate, right?”
Caught off guard, you nodded. “Uh, yes. He’s got some investments around the area.”
Ward nodded thoughtfully, his expression unreadable. “Interesting. I heard he’s been expanding into some new developments recently, some pretty big projects.”
You sensed there was more to his curiosity than casual interest, and out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Rafe’s gaze sharpened. What was Ward getting at?
“Yeah, I think he’s been working on a few,” you replied, keeping your tone light, though you felt a prickle of unease. Your dad had mentioned some big investments lately, but he was always cagey about the details.
Ward gave a satisfied nod, swirling his glass thoughtfully. “It’s good to hear. The market around here’s always shifting, and it’s smart to have eyes on it.”
“Exactly,” Rose chimed in, shooting Ward a supportive glance. “Families that know how to work with each other tend to do better in the long run, don’t they, Ward?”
You nodded politely, feeling Ward’s intent but still uncertain about the details. What exactly was he interested in?
“Tell him he should swing by sometime,” Ward added casually as if it were an afterthought. “We could go over some ideas, and talk business. Who knows, might be a win-win for both of us.”
“Oh, sure,” you said, keeping your tone neutral. “I’ll let him know.”
Ward nodded with a pleased smile, raising his glass in a small toast. “To partnerships,” he said, giving you a look that seemed almost fatherly.
You nodded politely, feeling Ward’s intent but still uncertain about the details. What exactly was he interested in?
-
Dinner was winding down as everyone began clearing dishes from the table and bringing them to the kitchen. Rose stood at the window, watching the heavy raindrops pelting down outside, her brows knitting together in mild concern.
“Oh, it’s really coming down out there,” she said, glancing back toward you. “Y/N, you have a way to get home, right?I’d hate for you to get caught in this.”
You hesitated, unsure how to respond as Sarah chimed in. “I was going to take her, but I, uh…let Topper use my car earlier.” Her eyes flicked toward you and Rafe, her mouth twisting into a half-smile as if she could sense the tension brewing.
“Oh, that’s no problem,” Ward said, looking over at Rafe, who was lounging casually on the couch in the other room, scrolling through his phone. “Rafe, why don’t you take Y/N home? I’m sure she’d appreciate it.”
The suggestion hung in the air for a moment. You and Rafe exchanged brief glances, each of you caught off guard, but Rafe recovered quickly, nodding with a tight-lipped smile.
“Yeah, I can take her,” he replied, his tone nonchalant, though his gaze lingered on you a second longer than necessary.
Rose beamed slightly taken aback by his sudden willingness. “Wonderful! Thank you, Rafe.”
Excitement and nervousness coursed through you knowing you would get alone time with Rafe without anyone suspecting anything.
-
Your heart thumped as you ran upstairs to grab your bag and then you said goodbyes to the Camerons. Ward remindingyou again to talk to your father about the business deal and Rose just telling you to tell your mom hi.
Rafe grabbed his keys, and after a quick farewell to Rose and Ward, he led you outside, holding the door for you as you climbed into his truck, his eyes glinting with something you couldn’t quite place. The rain continued to pour down, droplets hitting the windshield in a steady rhythm that enveloped you both.
As Rafe pulled out of the driveway, silence filled the space between you, his fingers drummed on the steering wheel, and his jaw was clenched just enough to hint that something was bothering him.
Finally, he broke the silence, his voice soft but edged with something deeper. “So…looks like you got stuck with me .”
You chuckled, glancing over at him. “Guess I am.”
He shot you a sidelong look, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Doesn’t seem like you mind too much.”
“Maybe I don’t,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper, “maybe we can finish what we started earlier” your hand resting on the seat between you.
His gaze flicked down to your hand, and then back to the road, dodging your flirty comment. “Seems like Chris came up a lot tonight,” he muttered, his tone casual but carrying a distinct note of tension.
Oh gosh is this what was making him so bothered, you thought
You glanced at him, feeling your heart pick up pace. “Well, it was Rose who brought him up,” you said softly, sensing that this was more than a casual comment.
Rafe nodded, a small frown crossing his face as he kept his gaze on the road. After a moment, you hesitated but felt it better to be honest. “Actually…I ran into him earlier today. At the boutique.”
His fingers tightened on the steering wheel, his expression hardening. “You ran into him?”
You sighed and nodded, feeling the familiar tug of conflict. “It was nothing, Rafe. Just…awkward. He tried to make conversation, and he asked if I was seeing anyone. I told him I wasn’t because…well because we’re supposed to keep this between us.”
Rafe’s grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly, his jaw flexing. “So…he thinks you’re single, then?”
You glanced at him, taken aback by the edge in his tone. “Rafe, it’s not like that.”
“But it sounds like it,” he shot back, his voice soft but insistent. “I don’t like the idea of him thinking he’s got a chance when he doesn’t.”
You looked away, raising your own voice caught off guard by his intensity. “Well, what do you want me to do? Tell him I’m secretly seeing someone who…hasn’t even asked me to be his girlfriend?”
The words slipped out before you could stop them, and you instantly regretted it, resituating yourself in your seat glancing out the window, feeling vulnerable under his gaze.
Rafe’s eyes flickered with surprise, then softened as he pulled the truck over to the side of the road a block from your house, rain pattering loudly on the roof. He turned to you, his expression unreadable. “Do you…want that?”
Your breath caught, and you forced yourself to meet his gaze. The vulnerability in his eyes almost broke you, “Maybe I do,” you said, a faint smile tugging at the corners of your mouth. “But I’m not ready to put a label on it just yet, I like this sneaking around”
A smirk played on his lips as he leaned in, his hand finding yours and giving it a reassuring squeeze. “Fine by me. But you’re still mine, Y/N,” he murmured, his voice low and possessive. “And if I see Chris—or anyone—try to touch you, it won't go unnoticed” His jaw clenched, and he shook his head.
A shiver ran down your spine at the intensity in his voice, but a warmth spread through you at the same time. “Rafe, you know I’m not interested in anyone else.”
“Good,” he whispered, his hand moving to cradle your face, his thumb brushing over your cheek and your lip. “Because I’ve wanted this for a long time.”
“You’ve wanted this for a long time Cameron?” a smile tugging on your lips, “I always knew you had a thing for me.”
“Just shut up and kiss me,” he muttered, his lips curving into a smile as he leaned in.
You felt everything fade away as he pressed his lips to yours, the rain still hammering down. You melted into him, your hands threading into his hair as he deepened the kiss, his grip on you tightening as if he couldn’t get enough. The intensity between you grew, each kiss more urgent than the last, and before you knew it, he was pulling you over onto his lap, his arms wrapping around your waist to hold you close.
You could feel the heat radiating between you, your breaths mingling as he kissed you with a hunger that made your head spin. His hands traced along your back, drawing you closer, as he whispered, “You’re the most beautiful girl in the world, you know that?”
You felt your cheeks heat up, his words making your heart pound as his fingers traced gentle patterns on your back and he began to kiss down your neck hitting your soft spot. “Rafe…” you moaned out.
“And if I see any guy even thinking about getting too close…” He trailed off, his lips brushing against yours as he spoke, a possessive glint in his eye. “I’ll remind you exactly who you belong to.”
His words sent a thrill through you, and you captured his lips in another kiss, feeling the heat between you building.
“Rafe,” you breathed between kisses, “I can’t get enough of you.”
“Good,” he whispered, his voice rough as his hands explored you, pulling you closer. “Because I don’t think I could stop, even if I tried.”
He held you close, his lips moving from your mouth to your jaw, then along your neck, each touch igniting sparks across your skin. You felt as though you were lost in him, the way he looked at you as though you were the only person in the world.
“I can’t wait to see you in that Midsummers dress,” he murmured, his voice rough with anticipation, his hands lingering at your waist. “I can only imagine how good you’ll look.”  he continues to whisper, “and how good it'll be when I take it off and fuck you.”
His words made you blush, a smile playing on your lips as you gazed at him. “You’ll just have to be patient.”
He grinned, capturing your mouth again in a kiss that was anything but patient, his hands roaming up your back, pulling you closer. Without thinking, your fingers drifted to the buttons on his shirt, fumbling slightly as you began to undo them, feeling the heat of his skin beneath your hands. He exhaled sharply, his grip tightening as you pushed the shirt off his shoulders, running your hands over the hard lines of his chest.
You pull away quickly, and Rafe can sense your reason for hesitation.
“Don’t worry, baby. It’s raining so hard, and my windows are too tinted,” he says confidently, immediately going back to attacking your neck.
Rafe’s hand slipped under your shirt, tugging it off with a swift motion, his fingers exploring the newly exposed skin with an intensity that left you breathless. His hands cupped your breasts, and you shivered at the sensation.
“God, Y/N,” he murmured, his lips pressing against your collarbone as he pulled you flush against him. His mouth left a trail of fire along your skin, kisses becoming more insistent as he marked you with small bites—a silent declaration that you were his.
Your hands drifted down, fingers skimming over his toned chest before finding the waistband of his shorts. You felt his body tense under your touch, his breath hitching, eyes darkening with a fierce, barely restrained desire as he looked down at you.
“Careful,” he whispered, his voice low, almost a warning. But the challenge in his gaze made it impossible for you to hold back. You pressed
closer, letting him know you were just as ready for this as he was.
You locked eyes with him, a smirk playing on your lips as you took your time grinding your hips down, feeling his hardness beneath you. Rafe let out a low groan, his hands instinctively gripping your waist, urging you to move. His grip tightened, one hand sliding over your thigh and pulling you closer, making you roughen the kiss as his touch neared the edge of your skirt.
A shiver ran through you as Rafe’s hand inched along your inner thigh, each slow movement sparking anticipation. When his fingers brushed over your panties, you caught your breath, your heart pounding as he pulled the fabric to the side. His fingers found your warm, wet center, and he sighed against your mouth, his arousal pressing insistently against you.
A low moan escaped your lips as his fingers entered you, the roughness of his touch making you grip his seat for support. You’d craved this feeling, the way only Rafe could make you lose yourself, and every lingering memory of your first night together flooded back, more intense than ever.
You let your lips drift down to his neck, biting and sucking as you went, intent on leaving a visible reminder. Your body was moving on instinct, grinding against his hand as he picked up the pace, each thrust of his fingers igniting you further. When he angled his fingers just right, your body tensed, and a choked gasp escaped you, urging him on as he went deeper.
You rocked your hips against his hand, feeling the pressure building, each movement pushing you closer to the edge. The pleasure built steadily until you felt it crest, your entire body shuddering as you surrendered to the intensity of it. The truck windows fogged up, trapping the warmth between you as the rain pattered on the roof outside.
Rafe’s fingers slowed, coaxing the last waves of pleasure from you, and you moaned softly, holding tightly to his arm. Just when you were catching your breath, he slipped his fingers out, leaving you with an ache at the sudden emptiness.
With a sly smirk, Rafe reached down, pulling his boxers lower to reveal himself to you. The sight made you bite your lip, but he didn’t leave you much time to dwell on it; his hands tugged at your hips, guiding you over to your knees. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a condom and tore it open, sliding it on in one smooth motion.
Breathless with anticipation, you steadied yourself above him, slowly lowering your hips as Rafe guided you down. A gasp escaped both of you as he filled you completely, the world around you fading away as you moved together, lost entirely in each other.
As he entered you, a shared moan echoed between you, raw and unfiltered. “Holy shit, you’re so perfect,” Rafe breathed, his head falling back, his voice laced with awe.
He leaned forward, capturing your mouth with his, his breath mingling with yours as he deepened the kiss, sending a rush of pleasure straight through you.
You began to move, adjusting to his size. Each new rise and fall brought a wave of intensity that heightened your pleasure. His hands gripped your hips tightly, guiding you as you took him in fully, and you wondered if his fingers might leave marks.
Your own hands curled around his arms for support, gripping tighter each time he filled you, your bodies falling perfectly in sync.
As you grew more comfortable, your pace quickened, driven by the sheer pleasure that neither of you could hold back.
“Rafe…” you whispered, your voice trembling as you began to falter, feeling yourself edging closer. No one had ever made you feel this way before, and you could sense you wouldn’t last much longer, each movement pushing you closer to the brink of release.
“You just feel so good. You’re so perfect, princess,” he murmured, trailing kisses down your neck and onto your breasts. With each thrust, he guided your movements, pulling you down harder onto his lap, as if channeling the jealousy he’d felt over Chris into each motion.
Rafe’s arm tightened around your waist, drawing you in deeper, the pressure becoming almost unbearable in the most addictive way. The sound of your pleasure filled the small space, mingling with the sound of the rain pounding against the truck. You swore that if it weren’t raining so hard, anyone nearby would hear the sounds of your moans. Soft whimpers and moans spilled from your lips as Rafe continued, making you completely his. He groaned, his voice low and rough, as your moans nearly sent him over the edge.
You were lost in the rhythm of it all, overwhelmed by the sensations as you neared your peak once more. Rafe’s thrusts became more intense, and you felt the tightening of your walls around him, a telltale sign that you were on the brink.
“Rafe!” you gasped, feeling your climax wash over you in waves, pulling a deep moan from your throat. “I want you so bad,” you murmured,
“Come inside me, baby…” Your words seemed to ignite something in him, his eyes widening as he watched your body react, his arms wrapping around you, holding you close as he thrust deeper.
You could hardly breathe, your body trembling as the overwhelming pleasure intensified. It felt like you were floating, the world outside fading until only he remained—his touch, his heat, the way he made you feel. Rafe groaned, a low, desperate sound as he felt your walls tighten around him, his own release fast approaching.
With a final thrust, he buried himself deeper, his hips moving sloppily as his climax took over. His hands gripped your waist as he moaned against your skin, his lips finding your chest as he rode out the last waves of pleasure. For a moment, both of you remained still, panting as you caught your breath, hearts racing in unison.  Rafe whispered sweet nothings in your ear as you caught your breath, Rafe fixing your hair.
“You okay pretty girl?” he asked leaning in to kiss you.
“More than okay, Rafe,” you say between kisses, smiling more and more. You swear you've never felt so happy.
You pull back slightly, and he does too, your eyes meeting in a moment of vulnerability. You can't quite put your finger on why kissing him feels so different—so much better— so right.
You kiss him once more, instantly melting into his warm touch. You want to stay in his arms forever until your moment is interrupted by the buzzing of a phone. You glance over and it's Rafe's phone on the dashboard, Dad.
Rafe answered the call, his voice shifting to a more serious tone. “Hey, Dad,” he said, leaning slightly away from you as he focused on the conversation. You watched as his expression darkened, his jaw tightening at whatever his father was saying.
“I told you I’d handle it,” Rafe snapped, frustration evident in his tone. You could see the tension building as he rubbed a hand over his face. “No, I’m fine. Just… give me a minute. Just dropped Y/N off. I drove extra slow since the rain was so bad.”
Your heart sank as you realized your time together was slipping away. Rafe looked back at you, his expression apologetic, but you could see the stress brewing in his eyes. “I have to go. I’ll call you later, Dad” he said, clearly trying to wrap up the conversation.
You sat back slightly, feeling the warmth of your earlier intimacy fade, trying to give him space while the weight of the moment lingered between you.
Rafe ended the call and exhaled slowly, running a hand through his hair. “Sorry about that. My dad’s being… well, you know how he is. Just pissed off about some investment bullshit,” he said, frustration still etched on his face.
“It’s fine,” you replied, trying to sound more upbeat than you felt. “Family stuff comes first.”
“Yeah, but I was really enjoying… this,” he said, with a smirk on his face but his voice still lingering with regret.
“Me too,” you admitted.
He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your lips, and for a moment, everything felt perfect again. “Let’s go do something this week, okay? I’ll take you out on a real date.” His words wrapped around you like a warm embrace, promising more to come.
You nodded eagerly, giving him another soft kiss, cupping his cheeks as you savored the moment.
He helped you swiftly off him, both of you collecting your scattered clothing and attempting to put it back on correctly.
“I should get you home before your dad starts worrying,” Rafe said reluctantly, the reality of the situation settling over you both.
You nodded, feeling a mix of disappointment and understanding that this moment together was ending. “Yeah, let’s go.”
Rafe started up his truck, creeping closer to your house. He pulled over in front of your home and parked.
As you climbed out of the truck and into the pouring rain, Rafe came over to the other side and offered you his hoodie to protect you from the rain. You swiftly put it on, feeling its warmth envelop you.
“Do you want me to walk you to the door?” he asked, his eyes searching yours, finding any reason to spend more time with you.
You didn’t really have a choice but to nod. “Yeah, that’d be great,” you replied, a flicker of anxiety rushed through you at the thought of getting caught but it out to be rainy and dark enough, no one could make out his figure.
As he walked you to your front door, you said a quick, discreet goodbye, not wanting to raise any flags or cause your dad to look out the window. You took one last glance at him, watching him walk back to his truck, his shoulders slightly hunched against the rain.
As you slipped inside, your heart raced as you stood in the hallway, the familiar sounds of your home bringing you back to reality as you tried to shake off the lingering adrenaline from your time with Rafe.
“Y/N?” your dad called from the living room, pulling you out of your thoughts. You took a deep breath, mentally preparing yourself as you approached.
“Hey, Dad,” you replied, forcing a casual tone. He was sitting on the couch, the TV flickering in the dim light.
“Where have you been? You got home a little late,” he said, looking up at you and the clock with a hint of concern.
“Oh, I was just with Sarah,” you said quickly. “Her brother drove me home since she didn’t have her car.” The words felt slippery, but you hoped they’d hold.
He raised an eyebrow, clearly gauging your sincerity. “Okay, just make sure you’re careful out there, especially with the rain coming down so hard.”
You nodded, relieved that he seemed to accept your explanation. “I will, Dad. I promise.”
He glanced at the hoodie now draped on your arm, his brow furrowing slightly. “That’s a nice hoodie. Is it new?”
“Yeah, I just borrowed it,” you replied, trying to sound casual as you fiddled with the fabric. “I got cold, so… you know how it is.”
Your dad nodded but remained silent for a moment, his expression thoughtful. “Just remember honey, I worry about you, sometimes I don’t know if you’re out with those pogues or not. I’d rather you be safe than sorry.”
“Of course,” you said, forcing a smile to reassure him. “I’m always careful Dad, I promise.”
He smiled back, his worry easing a bit. “Good. Now go wash up and get some rest. You’ve had a long day. I love you”
“Okay, night Dad, love you too,” you said but right before you headed up the stairs you turned around, “Oh Dad, Ward Cameron wanted to meet with you about some business investment stuff”
He simply chuckled and said “Okay” before you continued heading up the stairs towards your bedroom.
Once back in your room, you collapsed onto your bed, burying your face in the pillow as a muffled scream escaped—equal parts frustration and exhilaration. The adrenaline started to fade and the memories of Rafe’s touch, his kisses, and that promise of a real date whirled through your mind, making it hard to catch your breath. Excitement buzzed through your veins, filling you with a warmth that felt as surreal as it was intoxicating.
None of tonight felt real.
You could still feel the comforting weight of his arms around you, and his hoodie was still curled up in your arms, smelling strongly of his cologne—a lingering reminder of everything that had happened.
Your phone buzzed on the nightstand, snapping you out of your thoughts. Reaching over, you saw a message from Kiara.
Hey, Y/N! The Pogues and I are hitting the beach tomorrow. The waves are supposed to be crazy good. Wanna come?
A grin crept across your face as you quickly typed a reply.
Oh, hell yes! That sounds perfect!
But as soon as you hit send, another notification flashed across your screen. This time, it was your manager, Lance.
Hey Y/N! I’m so sorry it’s late, but could you pick up a morning shift tomorrow? We’re short-staffed, and I could reallyuse your help!
Your heart sank as you rolled your eyes in frustration. Taking an early shift meant skipping the beach day you’d just agreed to. You hesitated, caught between the thought of spending time with the pogues or actually making some money.
With a reluctant sigh, you typed out a response to Lance,
Sure! What time?
Then, biting your lip, you shot a follow-up message to Kiara.
Shit, Ki, I’m so sorry! My manager just asked me to work tomorrow morning, so I’ll have to miss out. But maybe I can meet up later?
After a few seconds, you saw Kiara’s text bubble pop up.
Ugh, bummer. Don’t let those Kooks work you too hard! We’ll be at the Chateau if you wanna swing by later. I’ll even save you a drink. Plus, we have some stuff to catch you up on.
You tossed your phone on the bed with a sigh, the weight of the skipping out kind of making you upset but you’ve called off so many shifts these past few weeks. Plus you know there will be a party this week to make up for lost time. You kicked off your shoes and pulled the covers over you. Your body was utterly exhausted.
As you settled into bed, Butters, your cat, jumped up and curled himself beside you, purring contentedly. You ran your fingers through his soft fur, letting the rhythm of his purring lull you into a sense of calm.
"I hate skipping out on the Pogues," you muttered to Butters, who responded with a contented purr. "But, hey, at least I won’t be broke."
You sighed, snuggling into the covers and letting the warmth of your cat and the quiet of the room start to ease your mind. Just as you were starting to drift off, a new notification buzzed on your phone.
You picked it up, blinking at the screen in surprise.
Goodnight beautiful
A small smile tugged at your lips as you stared at the text. You couldn’t help the flutter in your chest, even though you knew you'd have to face the consequences of whatever you were getting yourself into with Rafe. For now, though, you let the words settle in and your exhaustion wins, letting sleep pull you under.

kinda love this, kinda hate this. based around the request here insomniac II k.mccabe x reader
you sighed quietly as your eyes started to ache, latched wide awake and glaring up at the ceiling, counting sheep no longer working as it never did.
you'd tried everything under the sun to settle enough to sleep for more than a broken half hour, it never worked. there was always a small part of you that was wired, buzzing and alight with an energy that came from god knows where.
you'd tried medication of course at the advice of your doctor but it just left you feeling spaced out and drowsy, often waking up just as tired as if you'd stayed awake through the night anyway.
your mind ticked over and over thoughts swirling round your head like fish in a pond, never stopping or slowing always just going around and around no real destination or end in sight.
it was always at its worst when you had something to fixate on and tomorrows derby was exactly that. your worries and doubts about your performance crept in, picking and picking and picking at every little insecurity or doubt or worry that crept in with your walls down and at your most vulnerable.
then you were bold enough to tap your phone, big mistake.
3:47am.
you silently screamed, dragging your hands down your face, now somehow even more awake with the glaring reminder of the time, your alarm set for 8:30am.
your hand hovered on the bedside table, fingers just inches away from your phone as you bit down on your bottom lip. you knew she would be here in ten minutes flat despite living double that distance away, foot to the floor at your beckoned call.
you normally slept soundly with your girlfriend beside you, her strong arms wrapped around you, slender fingers carded through your hair and the repeated steady thumping of her heartbeat lulling you into the most dreamless sleep you could ever wish for.
but that didn't mean it happened every single time, and you knew better than to mess with katie's sleep schedule as well as your own. so on the nights before matches you always had some sort of excuse prepared why you couldn't spend the night with her, and you weren't sure katie believed all of them, but she never pushed you about it.
6:52am.
you suddenly jolted back awake, a sudden chilling anxiety creeping in that you'd overslept you were quick to tap your phone, groaning loudly seeing the time, having only fallen asleep around a quarter to five.
giving up with a sigh you kicked off the covers, sending them flying to the floor with a soft thump as you swung out of bed, rubbing your face and leaving your phone to charge. grabbing your blanket off the ground you wrapped it around you and padded out to the living room.
you collapsed onto your lounge with a deafeated sigh, wrapped in your doona like a burrito as you clicked the tv on, settling for the cooking channel knowing it wasn't something you'd be too focused on watching.
"baby? darlin?" your eyes fluttered awake hearing a voice faintly calling your name, though assuming it was some sort of dream you settled yourself again. "jesus christ here ya are!" but they shortly opened again as the voice grew louder, and you blinked tiredly seeing a blurry figure looming over you.
"hey. did you sleep here?" hands softly grabbed your face as you blinked again and suddenly your girlfriends worried face was hovering near yours as she knelt down by the lounge.
"no i just...just dozed off. what time is it?" you asked groggily, barely able to keep your eyes open as katies frown deepened. "ten. you were a no show for breakfast, i was worried something happened to ya." katie spoke quietly, thumbs stroking your flushed cheeks.
"oh shit! i'm so sorry." you exhaled, shooting up suddenly as her hands fell to her sides and you rubbed your eyes, seeing stars for a moment as you stopped and stretched. "i thought i set my alarm and i-" you stopped, frantically patting around you and coming up empty.
"it's in my room." you realised with a sigh, burying your face in your hands as katie moved to sit beside you. "hey, did you sleep at all last night? don't take this the wrong way sweets but ya look like shit." katies tone was laced with concern, unable to ignore the deep bags under your eyes.
"yeah yeah i'm fine. how long have i got?" you brushed off her worry with a shake of your head. "couple hours. is your bag packed?" katie questioned, wanting nothing more than to continue questioning you but knowing that wasn't going to help anything right now.
"no, i was supposed to get up and do it before i met you for breakfast." you groaned in realization, the stress already mounting on your shoulders at your careless error. "hey." katie grabbed your hands, tugging them away from your face and turning you to look at her.
"you go and have a shower, do your skin care stuff or whatever you call it. i'll pack your bag and cook us somethin to eat, okay?" she stated more than questioned, staring you down as you nodded, knowing better than to try and argue with her.
"sorry." you exhaled into her shoulder as she pulled you into a tight hug. "don't be. my job to look after ya when you forget, god knows you've done it for me!" her body vibrated with a small chuckle as she pulled away, placing a kiss to your forehead and nodding for you to head toward the bathroom.
~
"smells good baby, thank you." your hoodie covered arms wrapped around the slightly taller girls hips, your cheek resting against her back as you leaned into her where she stood by your stove dishing up.
you kissed her cheek appreciatively as she handed you a plate, nodding for you to sit down as she dished up her own food. "you gonna be honest about not sleepin then?" katie asked, breaking the silence once filled by the scraping of cutlery against plates.
"i told you, i'm fine." you sighed at her concern, rolling your eyes and continuing to eat. "you're not." katie pushed, jaw clenching at your denial. "i am katie, drop it." you warned, fixing her with a firm look which she only met with one of her own.
"whatever, stubborn idiot." your girlfriend scoffed quietly, shaking her head as you bit your tongue not to snap at her, knowing part of the reason you were so moody was because you hadn't slept, and you hardly wanted to any further prove her worries to be worthwhile.
the silence continued as you finished eating, grabbing yours and your girlfriends dishes and washing them up, leaving her to have some space to cool down before you'd both need to be in game mode.
sure enough right as you were finished she appeared, hugging you tightly from behind as her face tucked into your neck. "ya know i only bug you about it cause i care, right?" katie mumbled as you sighed, moving your hands to rest on top of hers.
"i know. but i don't need this today, we have bigger things to focus on." you spoke gently, leaning back into her a little more and feeling her nod, the two of you standing there just appreciating one anothers embrace for a moment, katie gently swaying the two of you side to side.
"right i'm getting seasick babe." you joked, tapping her hands as they let go of your waist and the irishwoman unwound from around you. "mm not so fast darlin. think ya might be forgettin somethin?" katie caged you in against the counter, arms either side of your body and a cheeky grin ingrained into her features.
"hmm. breakfast? check. shower? check. cuddle? check. bags packed? check. sounds like we're ready to leave love!" you smiled teasingly, knowing exactly what she wanted. "think harder." katies body pressed into yours, grin growing as she leant in closer and closed.
"oh! of course baby, how could i forget." you gasped, leaning up as if to kiss her but ducking under her arm, the older girl stumbling forward as you darted away. "gotta put my trainers on!" you winked as she quickly turned.
you laughed as she chased after you, grabbing the back of your pants and yanking you down onto the lounge before you could make a break for the front door, your body toppling down on top of hers.
"caught ya baby girl!" she grinned, bunching your hoodie in her fists and pulling your mouth to meet hers, the two of you smiling into the kiss. you indulged her for a few moments, allowing her tongue to slip in as you grabbed her face deepening the kiss even further before forcing yourself to pull away.
"baby as much as i love you and i love doing this, we're running late."
~
"hey y/l/n, can i grab you for a second please?" you looked up from where you were stretching with a few of the girls, one of the assistant coaches and medic waiting for you as you nodded, excusing yourself from your previous conversation with frida and noelle.
"is everything alright?" you questioned with a frown, the two of them requesting you come to the medical room with them. your worry grew when neither of them answered you, and it doubled as you entered the room and saw you weren't alone.
"okay why do i feel like this is an intervention? are you sending me to AA?" you joked, tone laced with nervousness as both your captains for club and for country sat waiting.
"please take a seat. you're not in any trouble we just want to talk about something that's been flagged." martin, the assistant coach smiled kindly, gesturing for you to take a seat as you pulled yourself up onto one of the physio benches.
"flagged?" you frowned, confusion peaking into curiosity. "its been mentioned you've been having some trouble sleeping, and this has raised some questions about your ability to be match fit today." kim spoke up first, eyes raking over you with concern.
"let me guess, katie?" you rolled your eyes, nerves and confusion now replaced with annoyance and frustration. "easy mate, you know she loves you which is why its being taken seriously, she'd hardly lie." leah spoke softly but fixed you with a look as you opened your mouth to argue.
"what have i got to do to prove i'm fine then? i can play! look i'm wide awake. i'll count backwards from 100? walk a straight line? do the alphabet?" you rambled on, eyes daring around the room.
"this isn't to test if you've been drinking and driving." martin chuckled. "so what do i need to do? other than go and warm up, which i'm missing!" you made a point, pointing out of the door and toward the pitch.
"katie said you didn't sleep last night, and that you've struggled with a regular sleep schedule for a rather long time." julie the medic questioned, having you look in a few different directions as she shone a bright light in your eyes.
"i have insomnia, its diagnosed and the club has record of that. it's never stopped me playing before." you winced at the light, blinking a few times to adjust as she finished with a hum. "do you take medication to help you sleep?" julie questioned.
"....yeah." you answered, clearly a little too slowly for everyone's liking. "don't lie." leah warned, crossing her arms sternly. "i used to take benzodiazepines but i stopped because i was waking up feeling even worse than if i just didn't sleep." you admitted honestly with a sigh.
"have you seen a doctor about that? tried other medication?" julie pressed, scribbling things down on a clipboard.
"i've seen multiple doctors and tried everything. i've not had a proper sleep schedule since i was a teenager and i still play at my best every single match. so why the hell is my fitness and ability being questioned now from the concerns of one person? a person who wasn't even with me last night to know if i slept or not!" you snapped, patience coupled with a lack of sleep bubbling over.
"sorry." you apologized quickly, looking down at the floor. "if you're not sleeping, you're not rested. and if you're not rested your body is more susceptible to fatigue and to injuries." julie spoke up first, handing her clipboard to martin whose eyes raked over her findings with a frown.
"the line up is already announced and i'm starting. you can't bench me, please! it's the derby and i am fine." you all but begged, sending pleading looks to both kim and leah to back you up. "it's not our call." kim sent you a small sympathetic smile as you groaned, head thumping back against the wall behind you as you awaited your fate.
"we'll be back in just a minute." martin promised as he and julie stepped out for a moment, door closing behind them. "this is such bullshit." you spat, pulling your knees up to your chest and glaring at the wall.
"why haven't you told any of us about this? why hasn't katie brought it up until now?" kim asked with a frown as you rolled your eyes. "because i am fine, and its nobodies business anyway! its not like im a fucking vampire and i don't ever sleep." you grumbled, body hunched over and tense with frustration.
"don't bite our heads off! we care too." leah warned making you roll your eyes. "if you cared you'd back me up and advocate they let me play." you huffed, glancing to the door and frowning as it still didn't open.
"how long did you sleep last night then?" kim questioned with a raised eyebrow. "again, don't lie." leah added on, forever like the nagging sister you'd never had before.
"few hours here and there, i got enough. i feel fine!" "if you say you're fine one more time i'm gonna shove my-" "leah that is not helping right now."
luckily enough for you martin and julie returned before either kim or leah could say another word, your nerves increasing as you looked between them eagerly awaiting their verdict.
"you can play today."
you sighed in relief, pumping your fist happily but your smile dropped as julie held up a hand. "but you'll need to start seeing a therapist weekly, and we'll need to see an updated diagnosis and medication review." she finished as your eyes bugged in surprise.
"a therapist?" you scoffed pulling a face. "would you rather be benched?" leah warned raising an eyebrow as you held your hands up in surrender. "okay! i agree to that. now can i go and warm up please?" you hopped down from the bench, waiting eagerly to be dismissed as martin nodded with a flick of his hand and within seconds you were gone.
but as your feet hit the pitch again, there was only one target you locked in on, marching angrily towards her.
"oi what the fuc-" she turned around with a murderous glare as you shoved her in the back sending her stumbling forward. "you've got some fucking nerve mccabe." you shoved her again, eyes slit into a glare of your own.
"baby listen just-" "don't you baby me. how dare you go behind my back and complain to the coaching staff that i'm not match fit who the hell do you think you are?" she grabbed your hands in hers as you tried to push her again, holding on tightly and dragging you back toward the tunnel, ignoring your complaints.
"i'm ya girlfriend and your team mate, and as both of those i know you're not match fit. those bags under your eyes aren't louis v darlin." katie spat as you yanked your hands out of her grip. "i don't care who you are, you had no fucking right katie you almost got me benched for one of the most important matches of the season!" you growled, both of your hands balled into fists.
"oh is that so? well if i had my way you'd be benched till you learned to act your fucking age and how to look after yourself!" katie shot back with a sneer, both of you far too agitated and hot headed to think rationally about the words exchanged.
"girls!"
before either of you could continue to lash out your heads snapped toward kim who stood a few metres away, captains armband on and hands on her hips, leah lingering behind her with the same unimpressed look.
"you're a fucken child sometimes throwing ya toys out when ya don't get your own way. grow up!" katie spat before storming off back to the pitch as you scoffed, opening your mouth to yell after her before an arm fell to your shoulder and a hand covered your mouth.
"you'll thank me later." leah warned, guiding you back out to the pitch as kim headed off after katie.
~
and you hadn't entirely lied you were feeling fine...for the first twenty or so minutes of the match.
you hated to admit it but the longer you played the more you really realized how tired you were, you missed easy passes, your tackles were sloppy and you found yourself far more out of breath than usual.
when the half time whistle finally sounded after six minutes of extra allotted injury time your shoulders sagged with relief, and you found yourself doubled over with your hands on your knees.
"you right mate?" you knew from the voice that it was lotte but as you looked up to her her face was blurred and you could only nod, following after her and into the tunnel.
you paused to lean against the wall once you were out of sight, rubbing your eyes and seeing stars but with a few shakes of your head your vision cleared and you stumbled into the change rooms, missing the concerned looks thrown your way by a few of your team mates.
"fuck off i'm fine." you mumbled as katie approached you, scoffing in disbelief and shaking her head, storming off to sit on the other side of the room as jonas started to address everyone.
you tried your best to listen, but your ears were ringing lightly and you found your fingers jammed into them, wiggling desperately to try and cease the noise, too distracted to hear a few of the girls try to check in with you.
it was only when a hand fell to your shoulder that you jolted to attention, your face flushing bright red in embarrassment as you realized you'd been directly addressed by the coaching staff.
"sorry i got some grass in my ear. can you repeat that please?" you questioned softly, shrugging off jens hand and doing your best to focus on the new tactics being explained to you, nodding along and giving martin a thumbs up once he finished.
noticing a few of the other girls murmuring to one another and flicking you the occasional glance, especially katie who was sat with alessia and jen. with a roll of your eyes you grabbed your water bottle, pushing up to your feet ignoring the way your head swam and your vision blurred a little as you did, storming out of the change room.
you downed the rest of your water, again rubbing your eyes as you dropped your bottle in the holder by the bench, stretching as the rest of the girls all filed back out of the tunnel.
you felt katie's eyes bore into the side of your head as you all returned to the pitch, ignoring the overwhelming urge to meet her gaze as you settled into position, wincing at the sound of the whistle as tottenham kicked off.
it was still deadlocked at 1-1 when the first round of substitutions were made, katie, beth and lia taken off for amanda, cloe and kyra. your head was thumping and it had started to ache behind the back of your eyes but you were determined to push on.
however your girlfriend had other ideas.
"martin ya gotta get her taken off man. look at her she's strugglin!" katie quietly begged the man, who advised he was unable to do anything as the subs had already been set and the tactics formed. katie continued to plead until eventually jonas stepped in, ordering her back to her seat with an agreement he'd keep an eye on you the next ten minutes.
he didn't need that long.
moments are katie took her seat, arms crossed and a thundering glare of discontent on her face, arsenal were awarded a corner by a poorly cleared ball from the spurs.
steph stood up to take it and you huddled in by the post, flanked by a defender on either side as it appeared almost the entire starting 22 crammed into the goal posts, half desperate to score and half desperate to defend.
you were jostled side to side, a few shoves into your back by the keeper as you did your best to hold your ground, the ringing in your ears returning as you blinked rapidly trying to clear it.
then you heard the crack of stephs boots meeting the ball, eyes widening as black dots blurred your vision and you jumped, the ball soaring closer and closer as chaos erupted in the box, a flurry of bodies pushing and shoving and jumping.
suddenly you felt a searing pain split open your head and your vision went black, your body thumping to the pitch with a sickening thud, the awful clang of where your forehead had bounced off the goal post echoing around the box.
the ball hit the back of the net off frida's head but nobody made a move to celebrate as a crowd formed around you, the medics racing over and clearing them as it took three of your team mates to hold katie back from sprinting off after them.
your eyes opened and you groaned as the light pierced through them, feeling it hit the back of your skull as something wet trickled into your mouth catching you off guard as you started to cough and splutter.
you heard someone ask if you could feel your toes and you held up a singular thumb, then came questions about your back and your neck and it was confirmed a stretcher wasn't needed.
very slowly you were helped to your feet, arms slung around the medics and eyes drooped shut as your body sagged limply, feeling julie press a cloth to your forehead as bodies moved around you, unable to look like anything more than colorful blobs as your head screamed for a reprise, the screaming of the crowd only making it worse.
within seconds the yelling was cut off, your body laid down on the physio table. without as much background noise and direct light you were able to open your eyes, blinking a few times as your ears stopped ringing and slowly you came a little more to.
"what? what did you say?" you slurred, hearing your name mentioned as your head was gently lifted up and someones body slotted beneath you, your head now resting in their lap.
"just stay quiet for a second, relax." you recognized the voice to be leahs, and could make out the words concussion, stitches and hospital. "no hospital!" you slurred out, trying to sit up as leah gently held you down, one hand on your chest as the other continued to press gauze on the large cut on your forehead.
"the ambulance is nearly here. i'm gonna go with you and so is julie, they need to clean and stitch your head kid, this is a nasty cut." leah warned softly as your vision came a little more to and you could make out her face.
not having anything left in you to argue you only nodded. "katie." you managed to get out as they helped you to your feet and paramedics entered, julie briefing them on what had happened.
"she's grabbing your bag and she'll meet us there."
~
you didn't remember much else after that, until suddenly you became aware of a pain in your neck and you shifted, trying to reach your fist up to punch your pillow into a more comfortable position.
"ah fuck!" you swore as your hand instead collided with the metal railing of the hospital bed, your eyes fluttering open as you blinked a few times. "hey hey hey, no sudden movements." leah shot up from the chair beside your bed as you tried to sit up.
"why the fuck am i in a hospital bed?" you groaned, laying back down with her help.
"you went headfirst into the goal post my girl, split your forehead right open top to tail and gave us all one hell of a scare." leah explained as you gently touched your forehead, wincing as you pressed lightly on the stitches and leah clicked her tongue at you and swatted your hand away.
"did we win?" you questioned, leah unable to help a smile from curling onto her lips as she shook your head. "yeah we won." leah chuckled as you let out a small sigh of relief, quickly noticing you and leah were alone.
"where's katie?" you asked, afraid of the answer as leah shot you a lot of pity and you shrank into yourself. "she's really pissed off with me, isn't she?" you sighed, squeezing your eyes closed regretful of your actions.
"she was here before, but she just needed a little space to cool off." leah smiled sympathetically as you nodded in understanding. "so i guess i'm in a bit of shit with everyone then." you mumbled quietly, looking up at the roof.
"as much as you infuriate me i could never stay mad at you for all that long, none of us could. but you are on bed rest for the next three days, your iron levels are severely low so you'll need an infusion, and you're not cleared to play for two weeks at least." leah recounted everything the doctor had told her earlier.
"doing my job for me!" speaking of, the man strode in with an amused smile toward leah and greeting you, stopping at the foot of your bed as leah moved your bed into a sitting position at his request.
he didn't waste any time, affirming what leah said was all correct and now you were awake you were okay to be discharged, but that you weren't to use any sort of electronics, drive a car or be around any bright light for at least twenty four hours.
you'd not need to come back in to have the stitches removed, the arsenal medics trained enough to do that themselves. but if you had any symptoms of concussion, vision issues or any dizziness you were to come right back to be assessed.
you only nodded, barely having the energy to speak as the doctor turned his attention onto leah instead. within the hour you were dressed into a pair of your own sweats and given your discharge papers, leahs arm over your shoulder guiding you out of the hospital and toward her car, slipping her sunglasses on over your eyes as you left.
"are you coming in?" you asked hesitantly as leah pulled up outside your home. "katie's there, i already called her and filled her in on everything." leah explained with a smile as you nodded, sighing deeply but thanking leah with a hug and kiss to the cheek, promising to look after yourself.
by the time you'd pulled away from the hug your girlfriend was already waiting on the front steps, having heard leahs car pull up in the driveway. her head was covered with a hoodie, arms crossed over her chest with an unreadable expression on her face.
you hadn't even opened the door before she was in front of you, helping you out wordlessly as your body sagged into hers, the pain medication and lack of sleep all hitting you like a truck as you struggled to keep your eyes open.
"i'm so sorry." you managed out quietly as the two of you entered your home, katie closing the door quietly after you. "stop." she responded softly, and your body filled with relief as she wrapped you in a tight tight hug.
"i was so fucken scared." you heard the irishwoman whisper, vulnerability leaking from her tone as she exhaled shakily. "i'm so sorry, i should have listened to you." you admitted, moving to look up at her, your heart breaking at the fear in her eyes.
"i should have spoke with you before going to the trainers. but right now you need to rest baby girl." she smiled, placing a tender kiss to your puckered lips.
you let out a small laugh as her hands hooked under your thighs, hoisting you up and into her arms as your legs wrapped around her waist. "hold on tight spidermonkey." she teased as your head fell to her shoulder with a sigh.
"i wish i never made you watch twilight."
"close your eyes please baby." katie instructed as you arrived to your bedroom, door firmly closed as you didn't bother to argue, eyes slipping shut as you heard the doorknob click and squeak open.
"keep em closed till i say so." you felt her lower your body into bed, kissing your forehead beside your stitches softly as you nodded. you heard her thump and move around the room for a few moments before you felt her slip into bed beside you.
"open darlin."
you did so and your breath caught in your throat as your eyes landed on the roof. "oh baby." you managed out, tears welling up in your eyes.
"i know counting sheep doesn't help, but i thought maybe these might be a little easier." katie whispered, tugging your body into hers as you stared up at the small glow in the dark galaxy of stars now stuck all over your roof.
"how did you even...." "got a lot of helpin hands." "it's perfect katie baby, thank you."
you turned and pressed your lips to hers, your girlfriend gently pushing you away with a sorry smile. "doctors orders." she explained and you nodded with a small sigh, katie ducking down and stealing one more kiss.
"please go to sleep gorgeous, for as long as you need. i'll be right here the entire time." the brunette promised, having already drawn your blinds and blocked out all possible light she could.
you didn't have it in you to even say another word, her arms wrapped securely around you and hands playing with your hair pulling you into a deep cocoon of comfort.
soft nothings were mumbled into your forehead as katies lips lingered there, careful of your stitches. the gentle hum of her voice lulled you into a dreamless sleep, the pain medication taking off the edge and allowing you to properly rest.
and it was safe to say there wasn't a single night before a match you spent alone anymore.

Door opened. A masked figure entered.
“Oh~ sorry I'm late. I was immersed in conversations with former executives.”
He apologized , however this apology was not enough to calm the five angry men who had been waiting for him for about half an hour, the person who was attending the meeting via a tablet, and the person sitting anxiously.
He quickly took his seat at the head of the long table.
“My dear executives wanted to meet of their own accord, and it has been a week since the monthly meeting. I'm really curious about why we're meeting”
“Tch, stop acting like you don't know. You know the reason very well.” Leona said, clenching his fist nervously.
“Leona-san, please control yourself.” Riddle said.
"The reason we're meeting tonight is 'Y/n'."
A tense atmosphere filled the room at the mention of your name.
“After the monthly meeting, I didn't get a chance to call them because of my schedule, but according to the news I got from you and my subordinates, no one could reach them.” Riddle continued.
“I cleared my schedule to spend this week privately with Y/n. However, when I called them,I could not reach . When I got their home, everything was in its place. Their car was also in front of the house.” Said Vil.
"They hasn't been to the Monstro lounge since the day they came to report the monthly meeting." said Azul, adjusting his glasses.
“Nothing happened to Y/n, right? This has never happened before.” Said Kalim worriedly.
“Idia? Do you have any information?" ' Azul asked.
“Y/n-shii normally visits me every day but they never showed up this week. Like you, I searched for them, but I could not reach . The phone line was turned off a week ago. The cameras I placed in their house suddenly broke down at the meeting night . Not only that, I can't access the footage of all the cameras around the house from the last week, they're all missing." Idia replied.
“Is there anything else? There must be something.” said Riddle.
“There is nothing at the moment. The bank account was likewise closed. Give me some time, I'll definitely find them ." Idia said.
Leona began glancing at Malleus.
“What is it, Kingscholar, is there something on my face?” said Malleus, sipping his tea.
"Nothing . It's just that Y/n last spoke to you before they disappeared. I thought of that.”
"Oh,so you suspect me"
Leona squinted his eyes suspiciously.
"I don't know what happened to dear Y/n or where are they right now either." said Malleus with a grin.
“But eventually I will find them. Besides, if you're going to be suspicious, you should suspect the head of the table first, right boss?"
All eyes were on the masked man sitting at the head of the press.
“Draconia-san is right. Y/n was your assistant and also your so-called right-hand man, so if anything happened to them , you would be the first to know.” said Azul.
“Where is Y/n, Boss?”
The room resounded with a burst of laughter.
“As expected of my executives, although it took a long time for you to arrange this meeting… anyway then I say it, I don’t know where Y/n is, but I do know what happened to them. My beloved bird Y/n left the mafia.”
Silence filled the room at Crowley's words. The silence was broken by Leona's fist hitting the table.
“What nonsense are you saying! Why would Y/n leave the mafia? There was no reason for that.” Leona said.
“R-right why would Y/n leave ? Y/n was very happy here with us.” Said Kalim while trying to not believe.
“Oh you are right. Y/n was happy here, or so we thought. I don't know why my beloved bird wanted to leave either, but who knows, maybe they felt like in danger or just wanted a new ,smoother, quieter life. I dont know ." ' said Crowley, taking a sip of his tea.
Riddle grit his teeth. He had to control himself. He stood up and began to speak.
“Still, although you are the boss, you cannot make such a decision without consulting us. I, Riddle Rosehearts demanding that Y/n L/n be brought back to the organization . My justification is that a former high-ranking person like them poses a great danger to all the secrets of the organization . Please vote on my request right now, boss. While all the executives are present."
“Well then, let's vote as you say. Those who accepts the request to bring the Y/n L/n’s back to the mafia?"
Everyone raised their hands. Crowley grinned.
“Okay, then the decision has been made. I leave the rest to you managers. Please don't go too hard when you bring back my little bird. You know, I love them as much as you do."

as the clock struck 3 a.m., you made the decision to change into more comfortable clothes and head to bed, or at least attempt to do so. it was weekend, nothing to for the following day, yet you couldn't shake the guilt of staying up late. it’s like ruining your sleep schedule on purpose. you had already swapped your jeans for sweatpants, considering that you still needed to eat, and you didn't want to accidentally stain your pjamas.
you had been texting jake an hour ago, but he had stopped responding, leading you to assume he had gone to sleep. as you left your bedroom, a knock on your front door startled you. your eyes widened in fear; it was so late, and you wondered who could be knocking on your door at this hour.
your instinctive reaction was to message jake. you were already holding your phone, so you unlocked it and opened the chat with him.
your messages filled with panic; "oh my god," "someone is knocking at my door," "what do i do," "jake, oh my god, i'm about to lose it. help."
to your surprise, you received a response, making you think that perhaps jake hadn't gone to bed yet. "just open the door," you gasped at his message.
‘ARE YOU INSANE THIS PERSON WILL PROBABLY KIDNAP ME OR KILL ME I WONT,’ you replied anxiously.
‘y/n.’ ‘open. the. door.’
you didn't understand, but a glimmer of hope made you consider that maybe, just maybe, it was jake. you cautiously approached the door, still fearing the person on the other side, and slowly opened it slightly, allowing you to peek at the intruder.
the weight on your heart lifted, and the fear disappeared when you saw jake’s silly smile. you loudly groaned and finally opened the door.
"i'm also happy to see you!" he exclaimed, wrapping his arms around you as soon as he could enter your apartment. "i missed you," he added as you hugged him.
"you're insane, and i hate you. you scared me half to death," you said, pretending to be offended.
“you loooooove me,” he teased, swaying your bodies left and right. “anyways, i’m taking you on a date.”
“a date? it’s late, jake.”
“don’t care, didn’t ask. put your shoes on, please.”
you sighed, unable to say no to your adorable, puppy-like boyfriend. he was your soft spot, and he knew it, often abusing it, albeit in a loving way. jake was a pure soul, never even considering hurting you in any way. you quickly put on your shoes, and minutes later, you were outside on the quiet streets of seoul. as the world grew quieter, the streets came alive in a different way. the distant traffic hum became a soothing melody, and the cool breeze on your face, jake’s hand holding yours being the only source of warmth.
feeling the chilly air, jake pulled you closer, his body warming yours. soon, you entered a busier street, with neon signs flickering like distant stars, hurting your eyes if you stared too long. some music from nearby clubs revealed cities nightlife.
you walked in silence until jake pulled a pair of airpods out of his pocket and handed one to you. the music was already playing when you comfortably placed it in your ear. it took just one song for jake to start moving in rhythm with the music. taking advantage of the nearly empty street, he turned to you.
"y/n, let's dance," he said, making you chuckle, almost causing your airpod to fall out, which you had to readjust.
“dance?” you answered too late, as he had already moved away and spun you around. you couldn't help but laugh even more. you couldn't refuse; the melody forced you to dance on its own. for the entire song, you danced around, still moving forward. you didn't know where jake was leading you, but you didn't complain.
another song played, and jake began singing and even rapping loudly. you laughed heartily, enjoying the moment as much as you could. when the chorus rolled in, you both sang along, still somehow dancing. jake enthusiastically gestured while singing the lyrics, which only made you laugh even more.
at some point he even let go out of your hand to focus more on the song, soon after you were recording him and taking pictures, you were basically his hypeman, somehow shouting the adlibs.
at some point, he let go of your hand to focus more on the song. soon, you were recording him and taking pictures, essentially becoming his hype person, enthusiastically shouting the adlibs. his moves were smooth and pleasant to watch, and you weren't laughing at his dancing skills; you were genuinely impressed. but when he suddenly twerked, you couldn't hold back your laughter and had to stop, nearly collapsing from laughter.
he laughed alongside you. "please, don't tell me you got that on video," jake said after a minute or two of both of you laughing.
“i got it perfectly, don’t worry.”
from an outside perspective, you probably looked like two idiots, dancing and singing to songs no one else could hear, laughing as if it were the funniest thing on earth. however, you couldn't be bothered to think about other people; it felt like it was just you, jake, and the music, creating cherished memories together.
you both gradually calmed down, still swaying to the beats as you walked. then, jake pulled you into a 7-eleven, mentioning that he was hungry.
“what are we feeling like eating?” he asked as you strolled through the instant noodles aisle. you quickly grabbed a pack for yourself, and jake followed suit. the argument at the self-checkout couldn't be avoided, but your boyfriend eventually won, claiming that he was the one treating you on this date and that he was the best boyfriend who needed to pay.
soon, you were sitting outside, near the microwaves and the self-cook ramen station. jake had you fill your cup with water first, and you didn't argue against his "best boyfriend" claims because, after all, they were true. as you waited for your cups to be filled, you swayed your hips to the music still playing in your airpods. jake quickly noticed and flashed you a bright smile.
the lyrics expressed a mutual desire in a singer's relationship, willing to do anything for their significant other. it was slow and perfect for the moment. you looked into jake's eyes, focusing more on the song's meaning. in the meantime, he placed his hands on your hips, swaying with you. you felt incredibly safe and loved in this precious moment between the two of you. a romantic song played, and you both gazed at each other with overwhelming love surrounding you.
you couldn't resist leaning in and asking for a kiss. the tenderness in it felt different, and as his lips met yours, you were instantly flooded with butterflies in your stomach. it felt intimate and more passionate than your previous kisses. unconsciously, you wrapped your hands around his neck as you continued to sway gently, the loud beep from the machine preventing you from having a full-on make-out session in front of the store and the unfortunate cashier who could witness it all.
as you pulled away, you smiled at jake, feeling an abundance of happiness and love that seemed boundless and uncontrollable. both of you turned your attention to your cups, mixing the noodles. soon, you were seated, both slurping on the ramen.
“‘so good,” jake said, with his mouth full. “it hits different during nights like this.” he added after swallowing.
you nodded, your cheeks full of noodles. he laughed at your adorable appearance, and you responded with a puzzled head tilt. "nothing, you're just cute," he said, perfectly understanding you without the need for words.
you swallowed your noodles, not responding verbally. instead, you reached out and brushed strands of his hair away as you saw him struggling to keep them out of his eyes, his hands occupied.
you both continued to eat as if nothing had happened, but jake's heart was undoubtedly racing from your swift action, his cheeks reddened, and his eyes widen. both of you were certain that this wasn't a fleeting relationship. this late-night date had made you both realise that this was something more, that you both loved each other unconditionally, and that you were both serious about your relationship, wanting to be together until the end.

Mera Mera Mera! Thoughts on twst boys if you tell them "no more sex" after an argument. Pretty please! 🥺🙏 💙 (You characterize them so well, I'm certain you can bless us with knowledge)
>:D I may have a few thoughts on the reactions!!! I shall bless you with said thoughts (i.e. twst cast being petty and silly).
Riddle - he's perfectly silent when he tears out the page in his life planner titled "dick appointments" and rips it in half in front of you. "Would you look at that? It appears my schedule's become open." He proceeds to fill the time slots with academics and club activities. Your "no more sex" rule goes both ways, but if you find yourself unable to bear it he might consider penciling you into his schedule. ...if it ever frees up, that is. :)
Trey - "Yeaaah, I had that coming," he admits with a sheepish chuckle. Trey very rarely argues with you. Ever. So maybe it was one-sided, but he still goes along with it to keep you happy and to end the argument as quickly as possible. He'll smooth things over by baking you your favorite sweet. He can be patient and wait if you're still stubbornly insisting on no more sex, but that doesn't mean he won't tease you often.
Cater - "Cowabummer." Yes, that's all he says. Yes, he gives you the sad thumbs-down and everything. Cater cannot be /srs for this one because if he's /srs you'll see the /srs sides of him that he'd rather hide behind a /j personality. (He later makes it up to you by apologizing and taking you into town to your favorite places. <3 you end up fucking in the changing stall in one of the clothing stores hehe.)
Ace - he rolls his eyes and laughs. "I never even wanted to fuck you anyways. You're, like, super mid." (He's lying. Please don't ban him from having sex with you. </3 This is how he's apologizing later.
Deuce - he's genuinely devastated. Nooo, what do you mean "no more sex"? D: that's not even the worst of it, though. Deuce is just sad that the both of you argued and that he said some things he's not very proud of. He was really mean and so were you. What were you even arguing about in the first place? Deuce's heart aches knowing you're so upset at him, so he does everything he can to make it up to you. It's fine if you don't want sex anymore; he just wants you to be happy.
Leona - he highly doubts you're serious. "Sure, okay. We'll see about that one," he tells you with a lazy half-smirk. "Good luck with that, herbivore." (he's so hot when you wake up next to him in the mornings and he has that rough morning voice...... you end up fucking the following day, too weak to his charms to keep up with your no sex promise. Leona teases you for that.)
Ruggie - "I'll live," he says with a shrug. Sure, it sucks that you no longer want to fuck and it also sucks that the two of you even argued in the first place, but he'll live. You and Ruggie are distant for all of one day before coming back together to sincerely apologize. He's a little awkward with his apology, but it does indeed come from the heart. Perhaps there's some makeup sex that follows...
Jack - another one who is more upset over the actual argument than your admission of no more sex. Jack feels so bad. :( his ears are flattened on his head and his tail is drooped; he's just so sad that he argued with you and made you angry. He was out of line and shouldn't have let his emotions get the best of him. If no more sex is what you truly want, he'll abide by that.
Azul - "Angelfish, I understand you're upset, but do you truly mean that?" You do, and you storm out of his VIP room and ghost him for the rest of the day. Azul goes through the five stages of grief within the span of a few hours. T_T he's a wreck, not only because you said no more sex but because you argued and you're angry with him and you probably hate him now and what if you break up and you never want to see him again and and and and and !!!!!!!! Sad tako hours.
Jade - he smiles patiently. "If you say so." (his compliance is too obedient; don't let him fool you. He's going to spike your drink with an aphrodisiac and then when you come to him begging for release he'll deny you in the same way you denied him.)
Floyd - "Shrimpy, c'mon, ya can't be serious." You turn away from him with a huff, arms folded over your chest. "S'not funny, Shrimpy..." He pouts at you, brows knitted in annoyance. You look him dead in the eyes and snap back with, "Good. Cuz I'm not joking, Floyd." (Floyd's in a foul mood for the rest of the day; no one dares go near him. His aura is too threatening...)
Kalim - if it's your first argument with him, he's genuinely compelled to throw a party celebrating it LOL. Kalim means well with it, too, which makes it arguably worse. ^^;;; but he is indeed very sad that things got to this point and that you were so angry with him that you even said no more sex! He sulks sadly. :( will a parade make you feel better? Or do you want more renovations done to Ramshackle? Do you want gemstones? Just tell him how he can make it up to you and he'll do it! He's so very sorry! >_<
Jamil - he rolls his eyes, shooting you an unamused look. "Very mature of you, (Name)." Jamil isn't going to entertain the argument anymore. If you want to talk things over, you can do that after you and he have cooled off. Although if he's truly intent on getting your forgiveness and nullifying your no sex rule right away, a little hypnosis might do the trick...
Vil - he gives you a critical look. "What does sex have anything to do with this?" If you're going to argue with Vil, argue about the subject matter and don't bring unrelated topics into it! >:( arguments with Vil always make you feel so bad because essentially he tells you to do better and think about your conduct. Of course he also reflects on how he acted and what even led up to the argument in the first place. Even his apology, though heartfelt and authentic, is so perfect.
Rook - "Mon amour, lovely trickster whom I adore most, oh, how you wound me!" He's so dramatic about it, but then he also wholeheartedly means it when he says and acts like that. "Shall we share a kiss of forgiveness and allow water to flow freely under the bridge once more?" He is truly sorry, but then he's sneaky when he's slipping his tongue into your mouth as if he's trying to drag your apology out of your throat and taste it in his mouth.
Epel - "Consarn it!" He's huffy, glaring at you with his cheeks puffed out. "If yer gonna throw a hissy fit and say no more in-out, in-out, then don't come crawlin' to me when yer feelin' it!" Of course he then storms off and is promptly scolded by Vil for such atrocious behavior. Epel realizes he was wrong for getting so worked up and he'll later apologize to you. You apologize as well, but for the rest of the week there will be no more sex. Epel thinks that's fair. He sort of deserved that one. T_T
Idia - "Wutever. I don't need 3D to be happy." He rolls his eyes and the argument ends there. (Idia later spends an entire week locked away in his room building a (Name) sex doll to make up for the lack of your touch.)
Malleus - poor Hornton... :( he sulks in the darkness of his room and no one knows the reason for why he's so upset. Sebek is distraught; whoever dared to put waka-sama in this sad mood will pay!!!!!! Telling Malleus no more sex makes him think you don't want him anymore and that you essentially are breaking up (which is not the case). Diasomnia feels the gloomy atmosphere for days to come. It's Lilia who finally manages to convince Malleus to come out of his room and go to you for a chat to resolve things.
Lilia - "Oh dear. That's rather unfortunate." Even though he says this, he doesn't seem very affected or surprised or even remotely upset. But then Lilia's been through countless arguments, some far more severe than the one he just had with you, so he knows how to navigate these sorts of things. He's very mature about it and respects your no more sex rule. In fact, he's going to keep track of how many days you go with no sex before you inevitably forgo this rule for sloppy, heartfelt makeup sex with him, which he'll gladly indulge in.
Silver - it's probably impossible to argue with Silver. He's just so sweet. How could you ever get into any sort of argument with him? But if you did find yourself at a disagreement, he'd do whatever he could to resolve it and make you feel better. If no more sex is what makes you happy, then there will be no more sex.
Sebek - "SO BE IT, HUMAN. I DO NOT REQUIRE YOUR TOUCH OR INTIMACY TO SURVIVE, NOR DO I WANT IT." He's so LOUD. The entire hall ends up learning more than they'd ever want to about your and Sebek's argument. ;;;; he rants about you and your audacity to Silver (who's half-asleep), and so it's obvious he's affected. Sebek refuses to apologize because he's stubborn, but he realizes he misses you quite a lot. :( no one point that out, though, or else he'll yell at them that that's not true whatsoever!!!!

my The Deep headcanons(the Nektons)
(a few are longer situations but i'm including them anyways)
1. when the Nektons play monopoly it ends with Ant and Kaiko getting crazy competitive(sometimes Fontaine joins in) and Will watching in mild horror(after a specific incident monopoly is banned from the Aronnax. no exceptions.)
2. Fontaine and Ant went to land school after canon to get a break(Fontaine's biology teacher knew about the Nektons and talked about a discovery they made in class. Fontaine got mysteriosly sick that day)
3. Kaiko got into some shenanigans in college and owes several people several favours because of it
4. at some point, the Nektons find out that mermaids are real. Ant never lets them forget that they didn't believe him
5. Will: only drinks coffee Fontaine: only drinks tea Kaiko: drinks both Ant: hates both
6. Ant's an early bird and a night owl. he just doesn't sleep
7. none of the Nektons basically ever get sick, but when they do half the time it turns into a hospital trip
8. Kaiko has an insane spice tolerance
9. Ant drank an energy drink once. everyone else feared for their lives
10. none of the Nektons really have a great sleep schedule. between nightmares(because the entire family's traumatised atp), their work, and being called out for rescue missions and other issues at all hours of the day sometimes, it's a little hard
11. Fontaine is terrified of horses
12. after the episode with the mining machine, Ant said that he deserved a free pass to misbehave once, since Kaiko lectured him about almost getting himself killed by the machine and then proceeded to do the same thing herself. after a bit(a lot) of convincing Kaiko and Will agreed(they will regret this)
13. Kaiko says she can't sing. she can, but no one can convince her of that
14. english is neither Kaiko or Will's first language. it's one of the first languages Ant and Fontaine learned, but it's not their first either. all of the Nektons speak at least 4-5 languages
15. Kaiko and Will feel guilty about bringing their kids into the life they have. they all almost die way too often. Ant and Fontaine shouldn't have to go through that. but it's too late to back out now(besides, no one really wants to, even though it's dangerous)

57. "Teach me to fight."
It's been more than half an hour of hitting the punching bag nonstop when Barty finally decides to take a break. It's not even because he's actually tired, despite the sweat he can already feel dripping down his back and his face. It's because his bad shoulder—the right one—dislocated during the last combination he tried, and after Barty puts it back in place, he's gotta wait a little bit before going back to training.
This happens way too often for comfort, but it's not really painful anymore—it never really was, or maybe Barty has simply dealt with much worse. Besides, the longer he ignores it, the more serious it'll get, which means he'll have an excuse to go get another check-up.
His manager already warned him when he first got the injury after that stupid fight with stupid Potter. Barty began to grow restless during recovery time, and then decided his shoulder was fine when it stopped hurting.
Obviously, he was wrong. Except, it only dislocates when he goes too hard, and he's learnt how to put it back in place without issue, so really, technically, he was sort of right. What does his manager know, anyway? As long as Barty continues winning and putting money in that fucker's pocket, there shouldn't be any complaints.
He pulls up his tank top and dries off some of the sweat on his neck and the side of his face, while rolling his shoulder gently, testing the waters before he goes back to punching, when the hairs at his nape begin to stand up.
There's no noise, no sudden sounds. Barty doesn't hear the door opening, or closing, and yet, when he turns around, smirk already pulling at his lips, he isn't surprised to find someone standing right behind him.
"Hey, Rosie," he greets the other man, who blinks at him, completely deadpan. "I didn't know you were still around. Long shift today?"
"Yes, you did," Evan responds, that cool tone of his sending a pleasing chill down Barty's spine. "Know, that is. I'm pretty sure you've got my schedule memorised."
Barty takes a few moments to drop the hem of his shirt, because he notices the way in which Evan's gaze drops to his stomach and stays there for a handful of seconds. His expression doesn't change, there isn't even a flicker of something in his face, but the attention is more than enough for him.
"Well, you left your email open and your laptop in my near vicinity." Barty shrugs, eyes running up and down Evan's body. He's still wearing that sexy white coat of his, the shirt underneath it perfectly buttoned and tucked inside his jeans.
There's barely any skin showing, because Evan is a little weirdo, but there's some ankle peeking, since the pants are ridiculously tight on him and the legs keep riding up slightly.
Honestly, it's like he's doing it on purpose. Barty can't be blamed if he ends up hard under his sweats. He can already feel some blood rushing south just at the sight of that tiny sliver of soft brown skin.
"And you downloaded my rotas?" Evan guesses, tilting his head to the side.
"Nah," Barty says, crossing his arms over his chest, flexing a little. "Didn't have to. I've got a damn good memory. I read over them for a couple of minutes until they stuck."
Evan nods, not fazed in the slightest.
"That's why you only come in when I'm on shift," Evan states, and it's not a question. He doesn't seem surprised, or freaked out, but then again, he barely shows any emotions. Apart from irritation, that is, and that one's reserved for when Barty is being especially pushy. Or especially horny.
"I don't think I've ever seen any of the other nurses a single time in my life," Barty tells him with a chuckle.
"You have," Evan retorts, and his eyes narrow the tiniest bit. Barty feels a pull in his stomach. "You were talking to Betty three weeks ago, after your match against Black. The bad one. You let her check your shoulder."
Barty lets out an incredulous laugh, not sure on where to focus first, going dizzy with how badly he wants this freak of a man.
He's obsessed with the way in which Evan always seems to get the urge to clarify which Black he's talking about, as if it's not obvious, considering only one of them fights. How he's always so precise, never allowing any ambiguity into his sentences. How almost nothing seems to hold his focus apart from his experiments and medicine and his patients' injuries, and yet, here he is, remembering when Barty talked to someone else momentarily.
"Did I?" Barty asks innocently, biting the inside of his cheek to keep his shit-eating grin at bay.
"Yes," Evan responds, a little furrow appearing between his eyebrows. "She was touching you."
"Was she?" The corners of Barty's mouth are twitching so much he's sure he must look like an absolute maniac.
"Yes," Evan repeats, some exasperation slipping into his voice. "She wasn't even doing it right. She kept kneading the muscle in the same place, instead of checking the ligament, and she did this for more than five minutes, even though it takes seconds to find out about a dislocation—"
"Rosie," Barty cuts him off gently, watching, with no little amount of delight, how Evan's frown worsens. "I didn't even know her fucking name. I couldn't give less of a fuck about stupid Betty, or whatever the hell she's called."
Evan blinks slowly. "But you—"
"I was tired and sore after that match, my shoulder was bothering me, and she was there. My manager told her to check my shoulder, just in case I had fucked it up beyond solution, but if I had known you were around she wouldn't have laid a single finger on me."
There's a beat of silence, Evan's dead eyes searching all over Barty's face, assessing and determined. He smirks at him, which results in Evan huffing and looking away.
"Don't do it again," it's what he ends up mumbling, and if Barty didn't know any better, he'd dare to say Evan is close to pouting. "You're my patient."
Barty raises both eyebrows, a deranged smile splitting his face while he perks up like a goddamn dog. "Is that jealousy I'm hearing, Rosie?"
"No," Evan drawls, straightening up. "It's just the truth. You're not my only patient, you know? But if you're getting treated by me, then you're not allowed to see any other nurses."
"Damn, way to make a man feel special," Barty scoffs, but he does actually kind of mean it. Which he's aware might be a bit pathetic, but, well, he'll be whatever the fuck Evan wants him to. "Wasn't interested in seeing any other nurses, anyway."
"Good." Evan nods, almost to himself, and Barty has to make an active effort not to coo. "Are you done training?"
Barty blinks a couple of times, slightly taken aback, both by the sudden change of topic and by Evan entertaining conversation. Normally, talking to the other boy feels like pulling teeth—oh, man, Rosie would fucking love this comparison—which Barty doesn't mind because he finds it incredibly fun. Unless Evan is going on one of his medical rants, and yeah, Barty shouldn't find it as attractive as he does, but it's not like he's ever worked like he's supposed to.
But this? This is new.
"Not really," Barty answers, still feeling off-kilter. He shakes his head, forcibly pulling himself out of his mind. "Why? You wanna join me, Rosie?"
"As a matter of fact, I do."
Barty snorts, assuming that it's a joke, even though he's more than aware that Evan doesn't do jokes, because his humour is way too dark, and rarely finds funny what others do. But Evan's expression doesn't change, and Barty nearly chokes on his own spit.
"Wait, you're serious?"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"You've never been interested in boxing," Barty points out.
"That's a lie. I watch every match," Evan argues, lips pursed.
"Because you're job kind of forces you to."
"Also a lie. I need to be there when I'm on shift, in case they call for me, but I'm not required to actually watch."
"Yeah, but you still do, because your pretty little morbid head goes absolutely feral at the prospect of seeing some blood."
Evan scrunches his nose, as if disgusted.
"You're wrong," Evan lies, expression giving absolutely nothing away. Really, if Barty didn't already know the truth, he'd be inclined to believe him. "It's got nothing to do with that. I like boxing."
Barty huffs, the noise filled with amusement. "Sure you do, Rosie."
"I really do," Evan insists, always so ridiculously stubborn.
"I don't know who you're trying to convince, but—"
"Teach me to fight."
Barty sputters, brows almost reaching his hairline, and he gapes at Evan, who's still staring at him. He seems unaffacted by Barty's dramatics, but then again, he's unaffected by almost everything.
"The fuck?" he manages to spit out at some point.
"Teach me to fight," Evan says again, a lot slower, as if Barty is some kind of idiot. God, he wans to fucking devour him.
Barty isn't sure of what's going on right now. Evan barely interacts with him outside of their appointments, it's always him reaching out, so he doesn't understand what prompted this. What Evan is hoping to achieve.
"Why?"
"I told you, I like boxing."
"Yeah, okay. And the real reason?"
Evan's tongue pushes against the inside of his cheek, and it's so, so hard for Barty, not to make a very inappropriate joke.
"I'm testing something," he admits, albeit bedgrugingly.
"Ah, so you want me to be your guinea pig," Barty sighs a bit dreamily. "That sounds more like it."
"Sure," Evan agrees with unsurprising ease. "Will you?"
"All you had to do was ask, Rosie."
They get to work right after that. Barty doesn't even bother with suggesting a change of clothes, because he's aware of how well that'd be received. The fact that Evan chooses to take the white coat off is already more than Barty expected.
He tries to show him how to stand, how to do a basic punch. Evan knows most of the basic theory, mostly due to how often he deals with boxing injuries, but he's absolutely helpless when he has to act it out himself.
It doesn't matter how often Barty corrects him; he keeps slouching, stance all wonky. He lacks strength, and he takes a bit too long to protect his face after doing a jab.
The main issue, though, is his obvious lack of interest.
Evan seems to be distracted by something, too inside his own head, and when Barty is about to point this out, poke some fun at him in hopes of getting Evan to snap, the other man speaks again.
"That's enough," he declares, tone leaving no place for argument. "Let's spar."
Barty chuckles, disbelieving, but then Evan is sending a glare his way, and he raises both hands in mock surrender, giving in immediately.
He'll do pretty much whatever the fuck Evan wants him to, really.
They both get into position, and regardless of how much Barty is holding back, trying to give the other man a chance, is actually kind of laughable, how easily he overcomes him.
One moment they're exchanging soft blows, and the next Barty has Evan pinned to the floor, his legs and arms completely immobilised as Barty grins maniacally from above.
"Happy now, Rosie?" he teases.
Evan presses his mouth in a tight line. "Not quite."
"Oh, really? Because I'm starting to think this was all a ruse to get me on top of you."
Evan rolls his eyes so hard Barty worries they might get stuck inside his skull. "I'm afraid that's more your style. And anyway, I don't think it's wise to understimate your opponent like this."
"It's nothing personal, Rosie, but when victory is already mine, I—"
Barty never gets to finish. Evan raises his head so quickly his brain barely registers it, and then he's sinking his teeth hard where Barty's neck meets his shoulder. Until he breaks skin, until he draws blood, until Barty lets out a pained groan and his body goes slack, more in surprise than actual hurt.
A moment later, their positions are reversed. Evan is straddling him, mouth still attached to his skin, and Barty is lying on the cold ground, dizzy and a little bit breathless.
He doesn't know how long they stay like this—definitely not enough—but after a while, Evan lets go and sits up a little, lips stained red. It's dripping down his chin, and when he parts his mouth a little, panting softly, Barty finds out that his teeth are also crimson with blood. With his blood.
Barty groans again.
"You're hard," Evan comments, painfully nonchalant. It's that same casualness he used the first time Barty had an erection during an appointment, after Evan had pulled at the stitches on his leg and stuck his fingers inside Barty's wound.
"Yeah," he breathes out, half-delirious. "Yeah, no shit."
Evan hums, cocking his head to the side, analytical gaze running up and down Barty's body and making him twitch in his pants. The fact that Evan can feel it right under him, between his legs, forces Barty to swallow down a moan.
Barty is about to say something incredibly stupid to maybe, hopefully, alleviate the tension, when Evan leans down once more; this time, slower, more careful.
He's prepared to feel the sting of a bite again, toes curling in excitement, but it never comes. Instead, there's something wet and tentative and soft lapping at the open wound, gathering all the blood there that is still coming out.
It takes Barty a moment to realise it's Evan's tongue.
The knowledge hits Barty like a motherfucking bus. He can't stop a low moan from coming out now, or his hips from thrusting up, searching for something, anything, that Evan might give him.
Surprisingly, and instead of pulling away, the other man makes an odd noise against his skin, and Barty thinks he's imagining it when Evan presses down on him.
He freezes up after that, but only for a second, Evan's licking never stopping. But then Barty moves again, more purposefully, rubbing his erection against the apex of Evan's thighs.
The response is immediate, although definitely unconscious. Evan grinds back experimentally, with no coordination or finesse, dropping another sound into Barty's bleeding wound.
His eyes widen when his brain finally catches up properly, hands coming up to grab at Evan's hips and halt his movements.
"Rosie, are you..." Barty stops, swallows harshly. "Are you turned on right now?"
Evan laps at the blood a few more times before straightening up again, staring down at Barty with unblinking eyes and red all over his face.
"Fuck, are you—?" A laugh, strained and bordering on hysterical. "Are you wet?" He doesn't even need to check to know the answer.
Evans nods, almost imperceptibly. "Apparently so."
He has half a mind to turn them over and fuck Evan into the floor. Until Evan is a whimpering mess. Until he's crying, begging, unable to do anything but fucking take it. Until he's sore, and hurt, and full, but still asking for more. Until he can't say anything else apart from Barty's name, until he's—
"Bloody hell," Barty whispers, shutting his eyes tight and letting out another cackle.
Oh, he's going to die. He's absolutely going to fucking die.

Wooo, the past two days have reminded me that I really enjoy medicine! It's just the emergency department that isn't for me, almost as if I chose family medicine for a reason, haha. (Also apparently our local ED is a shitshow. I wouldn't really know, as it's my only point of reference, and as far as I know most EDs in underserved areas are shitshows. At any rate, I lost a patient for 3 hours the other day because someone moved them without telling me and updated the chart incorrectly, and I hunted for them all around THRICE without finding them, and signed them out as Left During Treatment until someone finally called me like, "Heyyy... so did you send X to the pharmacy...?" and I was like, "They're STILL HERE???"... ANYWAY.......)
No matter what rotation we're currently on, the family medicine residents do 1.5 days of clinic a week, and half a day of didactics. ED shifts can't be interrupted, so mine are all lined up so that I have all of Tuesday in clinic, and Wednesday split between clinic/didactic. I've basically gotten only half a day off so far in the past two weeks due to the night shift schedule, but this litte two-day family medicine interlude has felt like a break in its own way, haha. Now that I'm getting a better hang of the EMR, clinic just feels very nice, and it's exactly what I want to be doing. And as part of our didactic, we spent a couple of hours today doing sports physicals for the nearby college, which was neat! Got free pizza after, too, eyy.
One small thing I really wish was standardized is that anybody on inpatient service and emergency medicine rotations had an official break, at least 30 minutes per shift (which is not a lot considering shifts are 8-10 hours for ED and 12 hours for inpatient service). Most other rotations (including even inpatient pediatrics) have an hour designated for lunch, but two of the most grueling ones don't, and what ends up happening is that even if my seniors have told me not to worry and to take a 30 minute lunch in the ED, I feel guilty doing it because everybody else is scarfing down a 10 minute sandwich at their computers while staring at the patient charts and I feel bad taking even 15 whole minutes because it's noticably 5 minutes longer than the EM resident took! And it's the same thing for my coresident that's currently on inpatient service. It's just a long time to go without a dedicated break and it's part of what makes those services exhausting.
Anyway, today and yesterday were both good and I have some things I'm sooo excited for! I got into contact with the new endocrinologist that works with our program because she does trans health care and we're going to start a trans health clinic together. The only real question, which my program director is going to be talking over with her, is figuring out how I can participate in that longitudinally, because unfortunately it doesn't count for my family medicine continuity clinic, and there are some rotations where the hour requirements apparently don't allow me so much as to take a half-day per month for a different service (lookin' at you, inpatient service - which is 6a-6p, 6 days a week, so they'd also be breaking duty hour restrictions if they put the clinic half day on one of my single weekly days off lol).
Regardless, we'll figure something out! I really, really want to do this and my PD is excited about it, so I think they will try to make something work. I'm kinda crossing my fingers that they do allow me to take one half-day per month for this even on inpatient service.

“𝘕𝘖, 𝘐 𝘊𝘈𝘕’𝘛 𝘞𝘖𝘙𝘒 𝘖𝘝𝘌𝘙𝘛𝘐𝘔𝘌 𝘛𝘖𝘕𝘐𝘎𝘏𝘛. 𝘐'𝘝𝘌 𝘎𝘖𝘛 𝘗𝘓𝘈𝘕𝘚.”
With heeled feet propped on your glass desk, you glanced over your nails. “Don’t you think I deserve some time to myself? After working my ass off for the past year?”
“What? Of course, you do.” Suguru sighed into the phone line, already sounding deep in thought. It wasn’t often he had to work around your schedule or anyones. It was a new experience he honestly didn’t care for. “What are you doing, anyway?”
You clicked your tongue. “Aren’t you married now? Should you still be asking me this question?” Your shoulder held the phone to your ear as you clicked away at your computer, only half in the conversation. “Is she not fucking you right?”
“Watch it.” Suguru warned, voice dropping into a sinful threat. “I’m still your boss.”
You rolled your eyes, something he could hear through the phone. It was your go-to reaction when he brought up the very close race to CEO between you. At his new position, Suguru tended to play favorites much to your dismay. The attempts at being content with COO were futile- the need to top Suguru Geto was always in the back of your mind.
But for now, you’d settle for teasing him.
“Barely,” you said, hoping to sound exasperated. “I’m leaving early too. My nail appointment is at four.” Glancing at the clock, it was only an hour and a half from now. Luckily, you could fit in an appointment so soon, but it was just your connections. You could feel him frowning on the other side of the phone at your words, most likely because there were several major projects due.
“Are you mad at me? Be honest.” Softening your voice worked wonders on Suguru, even when you didn’t mean it. He could always tell in person, but never on the phone. His breathing hitched, and you knew he was caught.
“No, of course not,” he expressed. The change in tone made you smirk. “I could always stay a little later. It’s not like there’s anything urgent due,” Sarcasm dripped from his voice and you hummed in response, swinging your legs off the desk and onto the floor. “It’s much warmer here anyway.”
“Here? In the office?” You asked, standing up and finally taking the phone in your hand. “So I was right.”
“For once,” he quietly confessed. The line was quiet for a moment while you waited for him to continue. His eight-month marriage to his wife was over in your mind. The miserable demeanor and volunteered late nights developed a side to Suguru you had never seen.
“For once, yes. I haven’t touched a woman in six months. Tell me, have you ever been this deprived?”
Yes. “Not that I can remember.”
“I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” he huffed out, and you heard him lean back in his chair. “I miss pussy the most. The sight, the smell- fuck, the taste? I used to be able to pick a favorite. Can’t anymore,” A bit of shuffling came before he continued. “Porn isn’t cutting it- not when I've had the real thing for so long. Not even the amateur shit, unless I'm in it.”
You knew what he was referring to. Rhythmic soft clicking gave away what he was doing on the other side of the wall, and you couldn’t bring yourself to tell him to stop.
Biting your lip, you couldn’t help but lean back onto your desk and egg him on. “I knew it. I caught you looking at my ass last week during lunch. You’re getting sloppy.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
It was your turn for the phone to go silent. Admitting you enjoyed Suguru’s gaze made you cringe, but it was the only thing you could think to answer him with. At your quiet admission, he stroked his cock faster and let out a satisfied groan. “Thank you for the image, your ass did look good in that pencil skirt. I bet your pussy is even prettier.” He spat sharply onto his length and you almost moaned at the mental picture.
“Everyone’s having lunch. I could make you cum on my desk a few times and send you off to your nail appointment early,” Suguru’s words came out as a grunt, exposing just how little he needed to get off. “I’ll even pay for it.”
“You know we can’t, Suguru. How could we face each other at work after that?” You asked, voice tight. With what, you weren’t sure. “We’d make it a habit, then we’re fucking at my place ‘cause we can’t keep it in the office.” The scenario had you admitting to yourself that being Suguru Geto’s mistress is an attractive offer. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but he was a generous gift giver, influential in culture and business with no kids.
On paper, he was the perfect counterpart, aside from the dry wife.
He had you on speaker now with the volume turned down. The freedom of his second hand allowed him to cup his balls and give them a few slow pulls, mouth gaping as he sighed deeply to the ceiling. “Pussy must be good, you sound like you’ve gone through this before… Are you touching yourself yet?”
“You’re not doing what you think-“
“Should I come over there and check?”
The question had your thighs rubbing together and your ass pressing against the glass desk. Sliding back and making yourself comfortable, you teased your bud over your panties and said, “If you need to ask then the answer is no. You’re not brand new, Suguru.”
He inhaled sharply, rubbing the tip of his cock with slow circles. “Ffffucking close, (Y/N). If you make it over here fast enough I can bust on your face,” his voice deepened in lust, eyes fluttering shut. It was easy to imagine you on your knees in front of his chair; Suguru had a photographic memory. Your hard nipples poked through the thin shirt you wore, and an order from your superior exposed them to the cool office air. You’d hold them in your palms as he gripped the back of your head to hold it steady while he fucked your face.
Suguru’s teeth dug into his lip as he came all over his clothed stomach and chest. The moans he let out drowned out your snarky response, your name echoing through the wall separating your office and on the phone simultaneously. His pleasure echoed off the walls as your hand dug into your thin panties.
Soaking wet, as you expected. You knew Suguru would be proud, but you stopped yourself from telling him. His ego didn’t need the stroke.
Your fingers wet themselves and soon you were knuckle deep in your cunt with two fingers. As quietly as possible, you fucked yourself on your desk to Suguru’s come down. The slick cum coating his cock was used as lube to overstimulate himself, and he shuddered when it became too much.
“That’s what I wanted to hear,” he whispered into the phone, his voice filled with the same lust. It was as if he hadn’t even come minutes before.
‘Of course, his stamina is that high, plus he’s pent up because of her.’
“I’m on my way over,” Suguru announced as his chair scraped the floor. “Just give me a minute to clean up, we still can fool around before anyone makes it back,” You heard the jingling of his belt buckle as he secured it and the soft pull of tissues being dispensed. Your fingers had slowed but didn’t stop.
“Don’t come over, Suguru. You’ll regret it,” Using your best warning voice through finger fucking yourself wasn’t an easy task, but you managed. “It’ll be an HR nightmare, people won’t take us seriously…” You tilted your head back and let out an exaggerated moan before continuing. “Stock prices will fall… but you’ll have the woman you want, right?”
“Don’t say it like that.”
“Why not? Too realistic?” Pulling your fingers out of your cunt, you sucked them clean and licked between them. The tight grip Suguru had on his chair became even tighter at the lewd slurps.
“Don’t you have any cute friends to set me up with, Suguru? To get me off your mind?” You slipped off your desk and held the phone to your ear with your shoulder as you packed your bag.
“I don’t think you’re going anywhere.” His voice was back to the deadpan tone he took on when you pissed him off. “Wouldn’t get along with any of my friends, either.”
“No? Did you marry someone who would?” You asked sarcastically, stuffing the last folder of paperwork into your purse. Before he could respond, you slammed the phone into its receiver and snatched the bag from your desk.
It didn’t surprise you that Geto wouldn’t set you up with anyone, but it did piss you off that he thought he could have his cake and eat it too. The feared glances you caught from employees as you departed the building solidified your reputation as an ice queen, you knew. These people wouldn’t understand you in a million years, and Suguru wouldn’t either.

The floor-length formal gown you wore did a fine job of hiding your lack of preparation for tonight’s event. The 102nd biennial Bachelor’s Auction had the world’s most eligible bachelorettes sitting at heart-shaped tables with notepads and ballpoint pens. Some of the women came with folders and color-coded tabs.
Your seat in the front left of the stage fully visible. One might even say it was the best seat in the house, speculation confirmed by dirty looks and eye rolls.
A simple smile is all you returned to them. They weren’t rivaling you or your wallet.
Thick red velvet curtains split down the middle to reveal the host for tonight- a young woman with ginger hair and a bright smile, microphone in hand. The scattered applause and dimmed lights signaled the beginning of the auction, along with a bright spotlight on the stage.
“Welcome, Bachelorettes!” She announced as the audience quieted. “Tonight we’ve gathered bachelors from around the globe to help raise money for the orphanage being built just a few blocks away. Proceeds will go towards new clothing, gifts for the holiday, and food.” An applause louder than the one before erupted, one you joined in with.
“To participate, simply raise your number to bid on the Bachelor of your liking. Information like hobbies, interests, and values in a partner will be shared, but not his appearance. You’ll have to wait until after his auctioning for that!” She gave a cheeky wink before reaching into the pocket of her jumpsuit and pulling out a stack of cards.
“Without further ado, let’s get started!”

After an hour of men waltzing on and off stage, you had begun to yawn.
The occasional plastic surgeon or music executive did catch your eye, so there was some hope to be had for the night. You watched as an overly excited woman in a short pink dress approached the stage to meet the man she bid so highly on- 1.1 million to be exact. Judging by the way she was bidding, you were sure it was nickels and dimes to her.
Nobara extended a hand to help her onto the stage before giving her one last fact about her match.
“He’s been in the professional boxing ring since he was nineteen years old and has since won several international titles! Recently, he’s been the mastermind behind organizing several successful matches and is looking to settle down with someone special. He’s one of our most eligible bachelors tonight- Toji Fushiguro!”
The room erupted in gasps and applause, with some women groaning in disappointment. Toji emerged from stage right, wearing a jet-black suit and waving his hand convivially. You drowned out the pain of the women behind you, instead opting for catching Toji’s eye and giving him a wink.
Nobara caught Toji by the arm before he could give you a response and gave him a push towards the woman in the pale blue dress. As she took the microphone back in her hand, a glare was shot your way.
“What a lovely couple. Toji has already taken the liberty of planning their first date, so let’s allow them time to work out the details. We hope this couple works out well!” She announced, sending the pair off the stage. Toji linked arms with his match and led her to the door next to the stage, politely holding it open to allow her through first. He turned to lock his gaze with yours, the scar on his lip curving with his smile. Toji held your eyes as he licked his bottom lip and turned to leave the hall.
You sighed, now understanding the women’s disappointment.
“The next Bachelor- ooh, this is a good one! Our next Bachelor says desserts are the key to his heart. He also mentions his work as a philanthropist, frequently donating tablets and computers to local schools.”
Cute. You thought, twisting the handle around your auctioning paddle. Nobara had an unmistakable smirk across her lips that she didn’t have before.
“He loves tropical vacation spots and often finds amusement in his Digimon obsession from grade school.” Nobara concluded the history with that, taking her spot behind a podium. “We’ll start the bidding at fifty thousand dollars. Any takers?”
Before you could raise your paddle, bidding had already begun. You resisted the urge to turn around and see who was already bidding so highly on the mystery man, instead opting to lift your number in the air.  Nobara’s reactions to his card had sparked the curiosity of all the women in the room, including you.
“-That’s five hundred thousand dollars to number 936, the woman in the front!” Nobara announced, looking around the room for more offers. She soon moved on to the next bidder, not without noticing how many women stopped bidding when you did.
Every time you were outbid, you simply flashed your number with little concern. The numbers Nobara announced only got higher, and slight pauses had begun between biddings.
“Seems like things are winding down!” Nobara clicked the card against her wooden podium, seemingly dissatisfied. “One more fact, perhaps? This Bachelor is well known for his bloodline, as they are one of the most influential and respected families in the world. His grandfather once had a monopoly over several industries.” She trailed off, allowing the women in the room to ‘ooh.’ You rolled your eyes, not needing any more competition. Nobara was doing a fine job at standing between you and your mystery date.
“Right now, number 936 is in the lead with one million
dollars. Going once-“ A woman cut her off with a bid of 1.3 million, to which you had to turn around. The room stopped to watch you death-stare the woman into submission. The tall woman with pale blue hair simply gazed back, unfazed. She gave you what seemed like a wink, but a braid blocked her other eye from your view.
Giving her one last warning, you raised your number and turned back around in your seat.
“Going once…” Nobara trailed off, giving the woman ample time to bid again. “Going twice… Number 936, you’re the winner of this round with 1.4 million. Our highest bidder of the night!” She paused to allow applause, but only a few people joined in. Mentally you rolled your eyes, but in the meantime, you were escorted up to the stage by a man with pink hair and a bright smile.
“You’re very generous,” he appreciated, offering a hand to help you up the few steps. Nobara cleared her throat, and the man gave you one last smile before turning and disappearing backstage.
You made your way onto the stage and gave a plastic smile to the crowd of brooding women. Some had their heads down and were writing notes, others chatted with other tables. The woman with the pale blue hair watched your movements on the stage like a snake hunting its prey.
“Ready to meet your man?” Nobara’s air about her switched, but the smile she had on her face still reflected her dislike. Without waiting for a response, she began her monologue.
“Ladies, he was heir to the throne in one of the most prominent countries in the world. You may remember him for his fashion week appearances, as he’s walked and designed for several exclusive brands over the years. The sunglasses brand he started as a teenager hit a billion in sales last year. He soaks up the spotlight in every room he’s in, and he’s planning on sharing it with our charitable bidder! Everyone, put your hands together for the one and only Satoru Gojo!”
The erupting gasps and applause that ensued failed to make it to your ears. Ringing was all you heard instead, and you swore the stage was spinning as Satoru Gojo stepped from behind the velvet curtains. A hand was tucked in his pocket as he waved the other toward the crowd. Dark circular sunglasses blocked his gaze from yours, but you felt your eyes lock and goosebumps littered your arms. Nobara watched his hand extend to yours, catching it in a gentle hold.
“Haven't seen you since the wedding,” he greeted, lifting your hand to kiss the inside of your wrist. Whispering from the crowd and a loud sob from the back of the room didn’t stop Gojo from giving the vein there a teasing nip.
He looked exactly the way he did eight months ago. You remembered sitting a few pews back from the altar of the ornate church, a strange pit in your stomach as you watched Geto recite his vows. Witnessing the event left you more nauseous than expected and seeing him kiss his wife made you avert your eyes.
“So kissing is your weakness, hm?” Gojo asked, catching you alone on the balcony at the reception. The midnight breeze he brought made you shiver, but he was soon by your side and replacing it with body heat. “It wasn’t before, I’ve seen you kiss a pretty good amount of people… Especially on the blogs.”
You leaned forward on the metal bars, arms balancing yourself. His back was to the railing and his head was turned to study your ass in the tight dress you wore. “I didn’t think you were such a big fan, Gojo. You checking up on me often?”
“Maybe. I know Geto isn’t capable of it, not anymore at least.” The statement was a fact and he said it as such.
It didn’t surprise you that Gojo caught onto your… uncomfortable feelings at the wedding. He was always apt at learning the behaviors of the people around him, sometimes unintentionally. You once told him a quality like that is invaluable in business.
“I appreciate the thought, but I don’t need you or the newlywed to make sure I'm okay,” you set your feet firmly back on the ground to look up at him. “He’s my co-worker, you’re his friend-“
“Wait- we’re not friends?” he broke in, disappointment in his voice. “We follow each other on Instagram, your birthday’s on my calendar and everything. Do you think we’re really not friends?”
“You’re Geto’s friend first,” you stated without opposition. “We only talk when we see each other. You don’t got my number, bestie?” You licked your lips at the hint of sarcasm on your tongue. Behind the dark sunglasses, Gojo’s eyes followed.
“You don’t got mine?” He repeated after you, pushing himself off the railing to take a step towards you. You hadn’t noticed the detail embroidered into his suit until now, when his body barely touched yours. “I remember you texting me after the exile and we talked for a minute after that… Why did we stop?”
Because he was there. “We’re both busy?” you offered, standing on your toes to wrap your arms around his neck. Distracting him (and yourself) away from the complicated situation you had with your boss felt like the easiest option, and the reception’s open bar was starting to catch up with you. His hands automatically found a place on your hips as his body finally pressed against yours and warmed you up.
“You say the word, I’m there. I told you that before,” he expressed, giving your forehead a tender peck. “I’m in the city more than you think. You don’t gotta hesitate.”
Gojo’s availability for you despite both of your schedules made you slip a hand on the back of his neck down his chest and trail it down the row of buttons on the front of his shirt. You stood on your toes again to connect your lips in a kiss that Gojo wanted to relive forever. The hands on your hips massaged you in slow, sensual circles that left your cunt clenching.
His fingers threatened to fall lower to cup the crease of your ass and give it a few indulgent squeezes. You wouldn’t believe him if he told you he’d pictured this while doing mundane tasks like brushing his teeth or sitting through a dull meeting. You didn’t know it yet, but he was already yours and needed you to learn his body.
Your back pressed into the cold metal when he walked you forward, a wave of possessiveness compelling him to kiss you harder. He cupped your thighs with big hands and lifted you onto the metal bars with little effort, lips still defiantly pressed onto yours. His tongue ran across your bottom lip for permission which you granted without doubt, fully encapsulated in the ex-prince’s warmth.
He couldn’t help but moan into the kiss at the taste of your strawberry lip gloss. Your affection was everything he imagined and with the way you looked tonight, Gojo was prepared to sneak you away to the altar.
With hands rubbing circles into the fat of your thighs, Gojo gave your lips a few lingering pecks as your lips pulled apart. After slipping the sunglasses from his face and pocketing them, you leaned your head down to connect your foreheads.
“I’ll stay in touch after this,” You promised. “Don’t let me slip away from you again.”
