Author's Note: I was actually planning on writing something for Haechan today. But I had the content for this headcanon pre-planned for quite some time now, so I just thought it would be good to actually write it. Also, I haven't been making a lot of group posts lately—so this is me making up for it lol. I know this idea isn't super original, but I wanted to make my version of it. I'm sorry if the scenarios are written badly, but I still thank you for reading ^ ^

Mark is the type of boyfriend who feels like your best friend but with the added warmth of kisses and hugs. He loves taking you on spontaneous midnight drives, where carpool karaoke becomes your shared stage, belting out your favorite tunes together. Music is a big part of your relationship, with shared Spotify playlists that reflect your combined tastes and moments. Whenever you’re feeling down, he grabs his guitar and serenades you with Bruno Mars or Day6 songs, lifting your spirits with his husky yet gentle voice. He’s also the type of boyfriend who writes songs about you, with lyrics so touching they bring you to tears.

He’s the type of boyfriend who attempts to cook for you but ultimately results in a comedy of errors. But they always end in laughter as you step in to save the kitchen from further disaster. His cooking skills would likely improve over time, with your guidance. You’d patiently be teaching him the proper way to cut vegetables or how much seasoning should be put in a dish. He’s the type of boyfriend to buy gifts for you quite often, something you kind of had to get used to. He’s the type to surprise you with things he’s seen you admiring online or at a store. Even if you scold him for not saving his money or spending it more wisely, Chenle insists that as your boyfriend, it’s part of his job to spoil you. 

He’s also the type of boyfriend to share his passions with you, whether it’s taking you to see a Warrior’s game or having you watch and cheer him on as he plays basketball. His excitement for these activities becomes even more meaningful when you join in, creating shared experiences that deepen your bond. He’s also the type of boyfriend who enjoys traveling and exploring new places with you. He loves taking you out, whether it’s to explore the rural areas of Korea to eat gukbap or book a surprise trip to Shanghai. He also loves talking about things like MBTI with you and finds joy in learning about yourselves together. Sometimes, he even rants about his debates with Chenle, showcasing his playful and thoughtful side. 

He’s also the type of boyfriend to have a lot of serious conversations with you, usually reserved for late nights. He’s the type to lay his head in your lap as he shares what is on his mind. The gentle stroking of your fingers through his hair helps him feel calm and at ease. Sometimes he doesn't even need to say anything, for your open arms provide all the comfort he needs. “What’s one thing you haven’t done, Ayato?” I ask.

“I mean, if we’re talking about the activities in my bucket list that haven't been crossed off yet… Maybe… Paragliding?” He answers back.

Our manager opens the lock of the door quite swiftly. She gets some of our bags and starts putting them inside our rooms.

“I doubt that there are any paragliding activities here in Fontaine. I mean, it’s mostly just the ocean so the closest you’ll get is parasailing.” Yelan joins in the conversation. I fidget with the keychains on my bag until I get to enter my room.

Should I stream before the concert? Or record something as a status update?

Once I was finally able to enter my room, I set my bags down and put my guitar stand aside. Quickly, I put my clothes inside my drawer and iron the ones I’ll be using later.

Does my outfit even match the theme?

I was so caught up in my own thoughts. I didn’t even realize the fact I only had a guitar stand, and no guitar.

Shit.

I think I left it in the car.

“Only 3 hours left! What should we do before the concert?” You ask, turning to your friends behind. Cyno and Miko are carrying their luggage effortlessly while Kaveh is suffocating from the humidity of Fontaine.

Navia’s house is just up ahead. Behind all the trees, once you enter a secluded part of Fontaine, you can go down to the tunnels and enter the hotel.

You had spent most of our childhood there anyway, you’ve become familiar with the area. You could say you stayed here long enough to see the apples fall down each season a million times, long enough to the point that you consider it and remember it as your second home.

Literally and figuratively.

“Summer in Fontaine is the absolute worst,” Kaveh says, wiping his forehead with a small cloth he had. “I feel horrible. How are we going to a concert in this weather?”

“You’re already used to the desert during summer. Now, tell me which is even worse; The summer desert or summer in Fontaine?” Cyno says.

“Summer in Fontaine?”

“It was a rhetorical question. And quit lying—you know that the desert is much hotter.”

“But there's no humidity! Fontaine is a literal island surrounded by so much water…”

“You two are so noisy.” Miko complains, grabbing her bag and walking faster to catch up with you. “Let’s go, Navia just texted me.” She says to you before walking much faster.

Before you enter the tunnel, you all scan around the area before going—seeing a strangely familiar orange haired guy run around chasing a car.

“You comin’?” Cyno says, bringing me back. They’re already nearing the entrance and you’re still on the street.

Concerned about that guy, you try to look for a reason to follow him as well. You spot a bookstore just a few buildings away and use that to your advantage.

“Uh, I think I'm just gonna get a few things at the shop… Can you bring my luggage there? Thanks.” You say, dropping your bag down. It slides pretty quickly as it goes to your friends.

“Be quick,” Kaveh says. “I think we have a few hours before the concert. Its.. 1:40, we need to get there at 3 for the soundcheck, okay?”

You nod.

You walk, no—jog to the bookshop. Looking around the street to find that guy—but of course, nothing.

A part of you was debating whether or not to still enter that shop. You weren’t gonna buy anything anyway, besides… You checked your wallet and only had a few mora to your name.

You take a glance at the glass window,

For Hu Tao's yan I see two options. The first is Zhongli. His voice line about her says "I cannot deal with that child" and in general their relationship gives off major brat/brat tamer vibes. Like one day Hu Tao's gonna get just a bit too rowdy and the man's gonna snap, taming her and forcing her to be less rambunctious by breeding and wifeing her. Hopefully she'll naturally settle down when she has kids, and if she doesn't, well he has ways of making brats behave. The second option is Xingqiu, which may sound like a odd pick but hear me out. He, similar to her is also very mischievous, though he hides his mischievous tendencies more than her. I can totally see him engaging her in a battle of pranks and wits, of sorts, though whether or not Hu Tao actually knew she was playing said game is up for debate. They both come from prestigious families, Xingqiu obviously being the next heir of the Feiyun Commerce Guild and Hu Tao's family having run the Funeral Parlor (which apparently has enough cash to be able to keep Zhongli's ridiculous spending habits afloat) for generations. So it works in terms of status. And his voiceline about her says "If you're asking what I think about her as a person... Well, there are all sorts of rumors about the way she works. But I think if you really want to understand someone, you need to find out what they are really after." which could be taken to mean that he's interested in her, at least enough to want to find out her motivations and/or the truth behind the rumors.

Personally though between the two I'd go for Zhongli being her yan, mostly because I think there's an even better pick for Xingqiu, and that's Xinyan. I know that seems like an even stranger pick, but again hear me out. His voice line about Xinyan says "Where does Xinyan perform? Anywhere from Chihu Rock to Yujing Terrace — no spot is untouched by her disruptive presence... A quiet day when I can curl up with a good book is a rare treasure indeed." So clearly he is bothered by how much noise her music makes, and likely how loud she is as a person as well. But, I'm not sure how much you know about Xinyan, but she repeatedly talks about how people want her to quiet down and be more ladylike in her voicelines. For instance one of her About Xinyan voicelines says "Not afraid of me, are you? Some folks say I've got eyes like knives, that I don't wear my clothes right, that I don't speak right. They give me a pretty wide berth, too. Really, can't a girl sport her own style without being looked at like she's some weird creature outta who-knows-where?" And then there's one of her More About Xinyan voicelines that says "Back when I was little, the adults all said I had to be more girly, that I should learn and study all these things. Wasn't ever any good at it, though, and I'd often get roasted bad. Rock 'n' roll's a different story. No-one ever taught me, but I can do it just fine. And of course, the adults say "that's unladylike!" *sigh* Talk about prejudice." All that said though she actually has some really feminine hobbies and talents outside of rock and roll. According to various voicelines of hers, she grows flowers, cooks very well, and has a talent for sewing and embroidery, to the point where she not only made her favorite stage outfit entirely by hand but also gives you (the traveller) some of her embroidery as a birthday gift. And she actually has a really gentle side to her personality too. Like her biggest concern/trouble is that she's self-conscious about how her appearance seems to intimidate people, particularly children. She actively tries practing her facial expressions in the mirror to try and make herself seem less fierce and scary and more approachable, though it hasn't worked at all so far. When you put all of these things together I think you have a really good potential yan/darling match-up. I can totally see Xingqiu originally going after her just to tame her and shut her up so that he can read in peace, but then discovering all her other talents and the gentler side to her personality and realizing that she'd actually make really good wife material; if he can break her of her firey personality and rock and roll obsession that is. Heck, it might even improve his reputation around the harbor, being able to tame this woman that even her parents couldn't get to settle down and finally silencing her music which apparently most people in the harbor think is "awful racket not fit for human ears." And you know that cocky little shit would jump on the chance to improve his own reputation. Sorry this got so long, I had too many thoughts on this lol.

As usual, I'm slow to realize what happened. "Shit! Seriously!?" I'm clumsy trying to turn off the screen, almost dropping my phone. If I thought it would fix this situation I'd just fry the damn thing and be done with life, maybe go find some cave in the mountains, live out the rest of my miserable life as a hermit where no one can embarrass me ever again, including me.
