How well do you reckon you'd do in the hunger games?
I'd die in seconds of overwhelm and anxiety x'D
The worst is, I'm actually very good at fighting. I have a black belt and very good reflexes and I know a bunch about survival. But yeah my head is my worst enemy and I have chronic fatigue so I wouldn't last more than a couple hours at best :')

Hey, Jake & Jack fans, is this anything?
Both men imprisoned (literal & metaphorical).
Both offered an out from their current predicament by an outside force (arguably in the case of Brain Ghost Dirk).
Both have loose ties to Lord English visually.
Yellow initial glow & Gamzee involvement too.
Sometimes a guy just needs to explode (same pose too).
Both dual wielding weapons.
That same said weapon type (for Jack Noir) having killed Jane Crocker.
It's really looking like Jake is going to do her in.
I would also like to point out that we've had interactions involving these three (Jane, Jake, and Brain Ghost Dirk) before that consisted of similar topics & themes.
Brain Ghost Dirk implying that he's just there as moral support, a manifestation of Jake's powers, and as a coping mechanism. Jane also talking about ruling an empire with him while talking down to him, similar to how she saw and/or still sees him in Beyond Canon's Candy timeline. Jake also being uncertain about doing anything to harm her despite all the bad things she's doing.
Brain Ghost Dirk going away tells us that Jake's more hopeful than he's ever been. This is the moment where he is the most sure of his decisions than he's ever been in his life, whatever those decisions may be in regards to Jane and how to handle this situation.
He is probably going to shoot Jane down, quite literally. I would also argue that after all this time, the lad isn't beating the Lord English allegations. We might as well have a parallel of him killing Jane much like how Jack Noir killed her right before he got possessed by Lil Cal & given some of Lord English's immense power.
Alternatively maybe we'll get to see what the power of hope or hope bullets can do to someone whose done so much wrong & come so far off the deep end in terms of moral wrongdoings. Maybe with every shot that hits her, she'll begin to be swayed to the side of good & start to self-reflect.
I'm still not fully convinced that Gamzee actually cured Tavros' peanut allergy, I mean just look at the panel.
This could absolutely be interpreted as Jake injecting his hope power into the epipen and by proxy injecting both his power & the epipen into his son! If younger Jake is strong enough to defeat Grimbark Jade, then adult Jake might just be strong enough to defeat a peanut allergy is all I'm saying! In fact, now that I'm rambling about it, this seems like the more likely outcome is Jake's hope power swaying or (in the very least) confusing Jane mid-fight. Hope bullets, they would look cool & would be pretty strong!
The power of believing in others & wanting things to change can be a strong tool indeed, Mister English.
If there's one person who still believes in changing Jane's mind (or bringing her back to proper canonicity depending on how you interpret the recent lore), it would be Jake English, the believer.
Okay, maybe this is something! Tally ho!

Transcription: Zayne's ST "Beginning"
i transcribed Zayne's ST story for meta purposes and thought I would put the transcription here for others to have it if they haven't unlocked it yet/to have it more accessible than it is in game
everything with "Foreseer:" is Zayne speaking directly, anything not attributed is the poem. i did it this way to make it easier to read the poem on its own, since that's what i hope to analyze in the future <3
Foreseer: Shift your gaze elsewhere.
Foreseer: Your expression shall not even earn an ounce of my pity.
Foreseer: Though it seems a night in the throne room was not enough.
Foreseer: Perhaps you desire to be frozen with the wall as your paltry confessional?
[Ice SFX]
Foreseer: Better to yield now than later.
[Page turning SFX]
Foreseer: Could you still be interested in what I’m currently reading?
Foreseer: …Certainly, ’tis a poem related to Astra. Its descriptions suit you.
Foreseer: Would you like to hear it?
-
A great distance beyond, …. north of ice and snow,
Atop the Divine Mountain,
When Light pierces through howling blizzards,
The divine sing of Destiny’s crest
My Emissary devout,
Will thou be lost in these celestial halls?
Will thou have the courage to wait for Mine words?
To unveil thy fate predetermined.
-
Foreseer: You appear to be fascinated.
Foreseer: [Laugh?] Hmph, then don’t speak.
-
With the frozen kingdom awakened,
Greedy ants fall into eternal slumber.
The divine rest upon their thrones,
Yet hidden daggers lie beneath their robes.
Brazen trespasser,
Arcticyons sing of thy requiem.
Dost thou know where thy stands,
Upon white, gleaming bones?
-
Foreseer: I don’t mind repeating this verse. Consider it a prophesy of your future.
Foreseer: Are you frightened?
Foreseer: If this is all your courage is capable of, you best forget about the Creatio Protocore.
[Page turning SFX]
-
Traces of destiny like shimmering starlight,
Bind people who have never met…
-
Foreseer: I’ll stop here. The last verse is rather strange.
Foreseer: Do you truly wish to strike a deal?
Foreseer: You ask far too many questions.
[Ice SFX]
Foreseer: Must your wild curiosity be satiated?
-
Celestial Savior,
Is thou prepared?
To save him from darkness?
To be his sanctuary amidst rime and gale,
To allow the descent… of miracles once again?
-
[END]
here is the poem in its entirety without interjections just to make it easier to read:
A great distance beyond, …. north of ice and snow,
Atop the Divine Mountain,
When Light pierces through howling blizzards,
The divine sing of Destiny’s crest
My Emissary devout,
Will thou be lost in these celestial halls?
Will thou have the courage to wait for Mine words?
To unveil thy fate predetermined.
With the frozen kingdom awakened,
Greedy ants fall into eternal slumber.
The divine rest upon their thrones,
Yet hidden daggers lie beneath their robes.
Brazen trespasser,

To allow the descent… of miracles once again?

Thing that Definitely Isn't Going to Happen That'd Be Cool to See
So, whoever Alastor's puppetmaster is (probably almost definitely Lilith) is going to attack the hotel and/or Lucifer and Charlie, which means he's going to have to fight everyone. He knows this, and Nifty and Husk know this, but all anyone else knows is that some enemy's going to attack. Nifty and Husk want to defend the hotel, but they know that if Alastor has to fight, they'll have to fight for him.
Now, Alastor doesn't like Charlie or his servants or want redemption or anything, but he does want to fuck this person over for controlling him.
So, he offers Nifty and Husk some modifications to their contracts. Specifically, he gives each of them a lot more of his power and a lot more freedom to do as they will (basically, he can't order them to fight for him), with the "catch" that he can take the extra power back whenever he wants or if their contracts are broken, plus they can't talk about the deal or why it happened. It's an obvious win for both of them, so they do it.
Leading up to the fight, Alastor lets Charlie know he'll be calling in his favor: he simply has to do his radio show on time today, and he'd appreciate it if she could make sure he makes it no matter what happens.
Cut to whatever battle happens. Alastor pops up, the villain gives some kind of dramatic monologue about how their precious little puppet will destroy them all, reveals his chain to the horror of all, and commands him to attack with all he's got... Only for him to have jack.
He politely explains that, while he knows it's rude, he's "regifted" their power.
While Charlie, Vaggie, Angel, and Lucifer are still picking their jaws off the floor, this person starts wiping the floor with him and Husk and Nifty leap into action with suspiciously-familiar powers. And because Alastor signed them away, they aren't "his," so unless his mysterious benefactor knows exactly how to make him reclaim them, he won't take them back.
Then Charlie realizes that his "little favor" was a cute way of telling her to literally save his ass and get him away from the battle back to his (presumably somehow safer) radio tower.
