Dear tennos, I think I just made a braindead build for the H-09 apex tank. (Credits to Karmana who inspired me with the concept!)

I just completed the rest of the hex members 1st try in less than an hour , like it's so brain dead i thought i was getting a bug. Asked 5 of my friends to tested it out and they killed the apex either 1st or 2nd time with this build, which they were struggling to get their 1st solo completetion before this build. I'll show it here as well, hope that helps anyone who wanted to give it a go.

Please keep in mind that the builds I'm showing below are just my preference, you don't have to 100% follow them. This build will focus on mainly surviability which I did struggle a bit on my 1st completetion, and this build is certainly Not for Early Game!!!! Please don't get angry at me for showing a build that you can't achieved in a very short pierod of time. The apex tank content was designed to be challenging and it requires a good understanding of the mods and gameplay. The main goal here is to help as much as possible for the completetion and if that works for you it will absolutely made my day ><!

There are things you want to focus and it will MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER !!!!!!

Frame shown : No Forma Nyx Prime (my Cyte09 Mag Trin Volt Excalibur has at least 2-4 formas, my Nyx is the weakest which is perfect to show how shit I am hell yea)

Archon Shard: Tao Azure shard x3 : health x2 ,Armor x1

Subsumed Ability: Dispensary (Protea)

Focus: Madurai (Vazirin works too if u prefer the protective sling)

Aura: Corrosive Projection (I prefer Brief Despite, Energy Siphon /Physique/Steel Charge are also best for Auras! )

Companian: Wyrm Prime

HEALTH ,AMOR, DAMAGE REDUCTION : You want DAMAGE REDUCTION to move around if you lose all your sheild and during rolling guard cool down! More health and amor = more dmg reduction! ( Thank you Karmana giving me a heads-up with inaros health build, the apex is joke to Inaros) YES I AM VERY AWARE SHEILD GATING IS A THING (love it and use it in almost all my builds) I DID MY FIRST COMPLETETION WITH CYTE-09 PURE FULL SHEILD GATE BUILD , WITH NO HEALTH NO ARMOR NO DAMAGE REDUCTION NO MAX ARMOR STRIP AND I WANT AN ALTERNATIVE BUILD WHICH WORKS ON MY OTHER FRAME. Arcane Blessing will give you more max health, and with Protea's Dispensary will max it out very quickly.

The Important Mods Quick Thinking + Hunter Adernaline + Rolling Guard: Quick thinking will drain energy when u take leathal damage, with high max health you can take advantage of Hunter Adernaline (or Rage) for energy in return. Quick Thinking is such a life saver lets you get away with apex's BS macanics 90% of the time. Rolling Guard to let you get immune to all dmg type. ( I also added Adaptation and Aviator to get extra damage reduction to not get 1 shot to death. Energy Nexus in case you ran out of energy to cast Dispensary or your other abilities. Better be safe than Sorry) Flow/ Equalibrium is optional if you don't want to use Energy Nexus . You could use Acane Energize for energy regen but it's just not that good for the apex even with Dispensary.

The Helminth Ability Dispensary : This will synergize with all the mods and arcane for the build. To let you always have energy to proc Quick Thinking. When you take leathal damage you lose both health and energy , you can replenish both quickly with Dispensary. Make sure you spam it in apex phase 1 and 2 to keep orb flow sufficient. Arcane Energize is optional for energy regen , however it's just not as efficent as Dispensary plus it wasted a slot. I invest heavily on energy flow to stay alive because I hate being send to the backroom when i die and Steven point at me with a flipflop saying 'Failure'

Good quality of life: Arcane Nullifier to negate most of the magnetic proc from the apex tank, Arcane Fortifier on your pistol will give you overguard when u use pistol on eximus, phase 1 and 2 with all the eximus spawning should give the overguard you need to deal with the apex tank. Nira's Hatrated not only gives you health, the set bonus for extra 100% slam damage is amazing because we are going to using heavy slam a lot. Aviator to let you take less damage when you are shooting the weakspot on top of the apex. Madurai Focus School to give you Void Strike, you can deal even more slam damage in 8 seconds. The shorter it takes to kill apex the less risk you take. Wyrm Prime's Negate and all the shield regen mods will increase your surviability.

Melee Weapon choice: Magistar Incarnon or Sampotes, they are just too godly for this apex fight. Sampotes will need to keep a short distance for the waves to damage the tank, direct hit on apex tank has No damage >[]< !

This is my Latron Prime with Incarnon above, you can also use weapons you prefer (suggestions from feedback: kuva hek/ Torid Incarnon)

The epitaph to get overguard and slow + prime the enemies. Melee choice I pick Sampotes, I took both rivens off so my friends use the build with no rivens.

Here's my drifter loadout in case you would like to know ;)

Thesse are my build for Trinity, Mag and Excalibur. Trinity is so easy she does not need Dispensary, once you remove the overguard you can cast ablilities for energy + life pulse. Excalibur Umbra by far the easiest for no reason I even took off rolling guard. Mag can abuse all shield regen just remember to maintain your energy flow and you are all set!

If you have any good suggestion and builds that works very well please show some love and share to other tennos too. I know many MANY player actually hated this content and even with end game gears and loadouts can't complete the H-09 Apex fight. That is also why I make this build to help my friends out so they can have their fav hex memeber glyphs >w< !!!

OKAY SURE, the concept versions of Valentino is cute...but ever but I didn't like how I drew goats in my style. It could be just that I'm not good at drawing them, but I also didn't like my color pallet I did for him, which was a lot like what Bonsai has color pallet wise, and it fitted Bonsai more than Valentino.

I mean I know it was a 100 year aniversary, just make it more subtle though so people can rewatch it and find refrences they didn't notice first time watching.

Bonsai is actually a little dwarf, and the runt of his family. Asha adopted him when she found out Amaya told Charo (Charo is a lynx btw) to get rid of them all since she thought they were rats (even though they are fucking HUGE) (PLUS IT IS TO EMPATHESE ON THE FACT THAT THEY ARE MISTAKEN FOR RODENTS WHEN THEY AREN'T, THEY ARE APART OF THE MARSUPIALS FAMILY AND THEY GET RID OF RODENTS/EAT THEM)😭

(I might actually make him slightly bigger than how I drew Bonsai, but who knows yk?)

So Asha took the responsibility of taking care of the little Possum, since she didn't want the possum to grow up alone, and so that she can have some company.

IT TOOK A LONG WHILE for Bonsai to warm up and trust Asha, but in the end, he saw her good nature and swore to protect Asha like how Asha protected him from getting eaten from Charo. Which is why he dislikes Star Boy A LOT (mainly because he doesn't trust how this creature can literally transform into anything and doesn't want him to end up being something like Charo 😭)

He is just a little guy that wants to make sure his friend doesn't get hurt by a celestial force.

An argument could be made for another working dog (HELLO German Shepards my god) (context here: i had a german shepard/corgi mix, he was my lil guy, he was too damn smart for his own good and patrolled the back yard fence up until he couldnt keep his hips underneath himself anymore and then! He! kept! trying! So yes that does influence my input on german shepard locus) i just struggle to see locus as a dog???? Dr Emily Grey does not have a fursona but she does think theyre neat and has let her patients all give her one, tho none of them agree on what she is. I think she's a shrike, specifically a great grey shrike! they're VICIOUS little birds, who dont look like much but they regularly hunt shit twice their size and are also known for impaling bugs on thorns and like, barbed wire?? theyre neat, and technically i think they count as corvids? clever little hunting machines

Kimball is definitely a german shepard tho like while im on the fence about it for Locus, there is no question about it for her she checks the boxes fits the vibe right down to the way she guards the new republic and chorus with her heart just under her sleeve

So everything that happens in the movie happens except coryo doesn't say "3 is enough for me" until after they've reached the cabin where they've just unknowing conceived their twins. He says this while they're both lying in bed n that's where that whole "who's the third" conversation happens. Coryo hunts her n she escapes w a non lethal bullet wound that def leaves a scar.

CS goes back to the capitol n goes on to be president at age 23. LG gets pretty far n struggles to survive on fruits, nuts, etc,, she's definitely not a hunter. It makes sense her period doesn't come as she hasn't been eating, sleeping, basically living right but what makes her sneak back to 12 is her growing stomach. She connects the dots. The covey help set her up at the cabin or somewhere only the covey know bc the mayor is still looking for her. She gives birth to twins, first a girl then a boy which came as a surprise. Theyre both tiny w the boy even more so but they make it.

I'm gonna headcanon one of the covey knowing how to hunt n they teach the kids when they're little, LG also learns. Think of the 2 kids from wolf children, that's how her kids are. Theyre so curious abt district 12 n wanna see where their aunts n uncles leave off to but they also follow their mom's orders like it's gospel so they never venture too far except for one time they try to hunt a small boar to bring back to LG. Obv shit goes awry, girl twin gets a head injury from protecting her brother which leaves a scar n boy twin is crying in hysterics. They rush to 12 to get help n this is what leads to LG's capture.

So as for their personalities:

Girl twin: imagine coriolanus if he was raised district w just his loving mother. Will commit all types of wrong for the right thing. Let's just say if it weren't for LG being her moral compass she has potential to be worse than CS. Like her brother she inherited her mother's natural charisma n charm but she can be like her father n use it for manipulative purposes. She's fiercely protective of LG n her little siblings, v much a katniss type. Shes quiet n observant, more introverted. Unlike her parents she doesn't have much interest in pretty things, for her practicality over everything. Both LG n CS want to spoil her w pretty gowns, accessories, makeup, whatever she wants but she dresses plainly (if thats possible w aunty tigris designing all her clothes) most of the time. It doesn't hide her beauty, she's gorgeous the same way her father is.

Her relationship w her father is strained. She knows he did smth to hurt her mother, she's never seen LG be so cold to anyone no matter how civil she tries to be, she's immediately weary. CS sees her scar n offers to have it removed but LG always talked abt how scars told stories n hers would tell of her bravery n love for her brother so she's offended by his offer. She hates how she can't deny her parentage LMAO she may as well have been asexually reproduced by him.

Boy twin: LG if she reincarnated in a physical copy of CS. Is ambitious about becoming a beloved singer songwriter the way CS was ambitious abt becoming president. He's a bit more sheltered bc his sister n LG babied him but he's absolutely not a doormat, hes the type to gracefully disrespect u n u wont realize until ur overthinking in the shower. However if u disrespect his family, hes not afraid to serve up a little rat poison flavored drink. He'll have ppl eating out the palm of his hands n it won't even be on purpose. He's the extroverted twin who can win anyone over. LOVES luxury. Prob the one most transformed by living in the capitol but, his sweet boy personality may or may not be a persona. He sees w rose tinted glasses more than his sister so he ADORES his father at first meeting. The concept of a father is new to him n he's only his father's son, he loves having new fancy things.

3rd baby: 3rd girl is not exactly planned but not unplanned either. She's born in the capitol. Twin girl's current favorite sibling bc it's a baby n a girl. Also twin boy's current favorite sibling bc shiny new baby. LG's biggest baby so far. CS gets to name her bc LG got to name the first 2 (like she had a choice after being hunted down by him 🤡) who have covey names. He'll give her a v capitol name, had she been a boy she would've been Crassus. Haven't thought further abt her personality, for now she's just a baby.

X number of siblings in between: N/A for now

Final baby: takes after LG the most. Brown eyes, brown hair. Everybody's favorite, everybody's baby. They'd all individually burn down the capitol themselves for the final baby.

uh um. (blows up) i dont. draw that much so bear with me maybe? i actually feel like im being actively hunted when people ask me to see them but........ I'm actually writing a book trilogy (more like planning it and organizing chapters, I'm awful on the actual writing part and do almost if not all of it by hand) about three siblings, the way they love and how it essentially drives them to destruction. Keith Holland Moore (my beautiful doomed boy)

His book is fully about self hatred being twisted into an awful concept of self-love. Becoming selfish and egocentric in an attempt to protect oneself, trying to convince himself he truly is an awful person who would never fully fit a society. Little does he know he actually is capable of love, even if he never was shown love and affection in a way he could understand. It's a story about hope and love, though it does end in tragedy. He is obsessed with the idea of hurting himself or others, for that is the only way he truly feels a genuine, equivalent connection with anyone. That is, until the story truly is developed!!!!! Have a sketch of younger him as well, that is totally not lore related:

Her and Keith are actually twins! Her whole story is about self-sacrifice, fighting for others when she couldn't really see her worth, blindly putting faith on people who were actively lying to her face. It's also about finding love in the most unlikely places in life, even if everything seems completelty lost and hopeless. I'd say she really is my precious lady<3

And then, ofc, their oldest sister, Elizabeth Holland Moore (you guys already know it)

Here are just some attempts at solidifying her design, my beautiful divorced lady. Doing her best to do what she can to change lives even if her methods aren't exactly morally correct, she never truly learned what affection was herself; she is the classic: "I'm paying for your food and a roof over your head, surely that's enough proof of my love?" Really detached from it all, she spends most of her time either sorting her very illegal business or simply smoking by herself. The proof that choosing to stay stoic and prideful can isolate yourself in the worst ways.

Uhhhh I've also been obsessed with my Disco Elysium OC's but after a certain scary (understatement) situation I've been a little ashamed of showing them. Here's Eye (or Aether c:)

I was actually planning on fully rendering this, but then, again, my motivation to do so and share his story was also completely drained with the whole Situation. He's a direct representation of how someone can be wronged by the healthcare system, though whenever I do write things about him, I prefer to share his own twisted point of view about things. A "spy" (though I'd say his tendency to observe comes mainly from an admiration and infatuation towards the world itself) selling information to whichever precincts will take his words as valid, mainly about organized crime and drug dealing, he sees people-watching as similar to studying birds. A little too in love with the pale, my funny trans guy with memory issues and a tendency to run away whenever things get too emotional. No vulnerability here.

She is a strong woman, very family-oriented and loves to take care of her own appearance! Very into music and writing, uses both of these medias to express feelings she truly doesn't know how to express out loud.

the thing is, the archives are not a library. the jedi temple has to also have libraries where you can take the books out, not just the archive where you can't check things out. yes, the 'halls' divide the archives into sections, but everything in there is probably written by jedi, not just their journals (the entire top floor is probably just journals).

the corps probably have their own libraries, each. and the crèche. and the initiate & padawan dormitory sections, for academic assignments and the like. i imagine checking a holobook out is more like someone authorizing it to display its contents as the equivalent to scanning a barcode, going from the concept art from jedi: survivor.

the main text is on one screen and the other one shows you highlights you've saved, is where you can zoom in on images, and interact with the text in ways that you might be able to save to a datacard, if you can insert one in the bottom where that particular dark section is (it looks like a floppy disk drive).

so far i'm going with the aurebesh digraphs for ch, kh, sh, and th as indicators for which hall the book belongs to. the top category/facet is indicate by one of the vowels [a, ae for the 1st - history, philosophy; e, eo for the 2nd - math, sciences, o, oo for the 3rd - geography, politics, & i, u for the 4th - flora, fauna], followed by permutations of the percentage sign where º/ indicates the upper floor and the circle on the opposite side, on the bottom, indicates the main one.

so the beginning would look like: ʧæº/ (except in aurebesh) for something that's in first hall, categorized under philosophy, and located on the upper floor (this also has the advantage of reading like a word - chæ-2). also part of this section would be the alphanumeric sequence that further separates the work's subject from others, e.g. philosophy of the ductavis period concerning planetary shielding, and encodes its chronology/era, the school of philosophy it belongs to, etc. without being hierarchical in design (like the library of congress and dewey), so: ductavis period: philosophy of defence : protection, with something like a cutter number for each section. if i wanted to be really ornery, it would all be in individual tythonese glyphs separated by colons.

the next part would be something like publication year : language code : author code : which # publication of the author it was during that year : volume number. the journals would have a slightly different way of doing this, where it indicates what type of publication it is.

Settling at the Top: Hybrid Legend Winners ~

Our winners this week are @grornt, @horsecrash, and @izzet-always-r-versus-u!

@grornt — Vhati en-Dal

Someone never read the Weatherlight saga story—and that someone is me. Whoops. Hard to imagine a point at which novels were the main way to consume MTG lore and whatnot, but that hardly matters now that we have this moment of defection. I guess the only issue is that this card feels split from the timeline more than it is an alternate timeline—i.e. this is the card that could've followed instead of Diabolic Edict. That said, there's the placement of where a timeline truly becomes an alternate one, and I really don't want to get into the semantics of it. Vhati deserves differently.

And what a card you've made of it, too. The lifelink overlap is pretty low-hanging fruit for WB hybrid but that doesn't mean that it ain't still awesome. Utilizing tokens is one of the ways that this becomes significantly better, and Ball Lightning-types would absolutely love to have this card in their arsenal. With the card draw, it's definitely a bend in white, but not so much a bend that it's not understandable. Limited draw with something that white cares about is more than enough to see it through. As both a potential commander, a good limited build-around/utility card, and a neat mechanical callback, I'm really happy with the design sensibilities on display here.

@horsecrash — Sythis, Havoc's Hand

I think the shorthand works here, because honestly, the only thing throwing me off is the fact that some cards like Karametra's Blessing add a whole lot of words in there. Not that this card is hard to grok my any means, but it's a lot of text and there's only so much I'm willing to encourage adding for the sake of specificity. Let's back up. Mechanically, this is a limited powerhouse and I can imagine the work that it would do in a heroic-style standard/pioneer shell for sure. Double strike is rather powerful, but in-pie for both colors, and ramping up auras, flash enchantments, upper-curve creatures—pretty crazy powerful but only as much as a body can be.

What's interesting here is the difference in the flavor from Theros' usual fare. I can picture this moment where schwoop, planeswalkers gets taken to an alternate timeline or something, and the once-peaceful Sythis was created with a little too much wildness in her. Touching the monstrous wilds imbued her with the power to protect through force. It's a bit of a departure from Akroan valor, and yet there's a cool concept there about everything in Theros being topsy-turvy. What happened to the rest of the plane and the gods? What happened to that devotion to have the Nyxian entities suddenly change their form? Great use of the prompt.

@izzet-always-r-versus-u — Winota, Martial Force

You, on the other hand, can go to your room and think about what you've done. Good grief, this card is heartbreaking. Like, in terms of alternate universes or whatever, there's now a world where the once-revered bonder Winota is a stoic, severe, militant figure who uses her powers to destroy the creatures that she once would have loved. That activated ability... I'm honestly a little unsettled! Perhaps Winota still has that bonding ability, turning monsters against each other for the sake of Drannith. Unless I'm reading that very wrong, anyway. Our timeline's Vivian meeting this timeline's Winota wouldn't end well.

I don't think that much is going to end well for your opponent if you manage to land a Winota on board either. Creating non-Human tokens with things like Resolute Reinforcements or Anim Pakal ensures that the sacrifice will get all the indestructible that you need (except for Winota herself, good balance) in the competitive Human shell. Limited will make almost all your humans so much better, and on-board removal is always incredibly powerful. Mythic legends are both of those things for a reason, though. I think that this is pushed but far from unbalanced. I also appreciate how the similar abilities/triggers utilize completely different play patterns than the original Winota.

Questions: Why do you like to draw Astra

/j (joking) i'm abt to drop a whole essay of me reading way the hell to much into a character who has maybe 3 minutes of screentime and no dialogue so brace urself for that lol

in no particular order:

he's kind of a wild character concept if u really put all the pieces together, which gives me a lot of material to work with. french cyborg eco-terrorist clone who used to be a famous beat boxer is such a concept of all time lol

i feel a lot more comfortable posting gory art of him bc as a cyborg that's mostly machine, no matter how much he gets torn apart there's always the possibility of just rebuilding him, which i feel takes some of the shock out of that kind of artwork

in a similar vein, i like how much angst potential there is with him! a couple things i tend to think about a lot: working with the idea that he used to be lead, that means he used to not really have a distinct identity of his own beyond being another clone until he became more machine than him, finally taking on an identity of his own in the process, being more machine means he can throw himself into all kinds of dangerous, if not outright reckless situations, and had he not exploded in the pyramid he would've ended up outliving pretty much everyone he cares about (and idea i like to explore with my headcanon abt him being rebuilt into boo 9)

he's a major comfort character for me, especially right now given The Goddamn State of The World. i find the concept of someone who still believes a better world is possible in the face of borderline impossible odds, and who fearlessly acts on that hope to be very uplifting (i warned u abt reading way to much into things lol)

to go off topic from what the main point of this sideblog, i also find him to be one of the easiest to draw cyborg/robot faves i've had, which makes practicing and mastering the particulars of his design much less of a pain in the ass than, say, blurr from transformers animated or byron from talos principle 2

there's also something compelling about the contrast between him, an entirely unnatural man-made individual, fighting to protect the environment from potentially the very mechanisms that made his existence possible

another very aesthetically pleasing contrast: how advanced and sleek the dystopia city looks vs him looking much more industrial and scrappy (at least the way i draw him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

ok so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as an overview with both i can go more in detail abt specific aspects swappers are no longer ""all male because it's gender neutral" cause that's a load of crap but i also don't wanna deal with hmm how would a snake and a potoo swap halves SO instead they swap powers.

fire kraken and freeze blade are the main two cause i like their designs the most but doom stone and trap shadow are also pretty relevant they're all from the cloudbreak isles and specifically protected the cloudbreak isles, meaning they were not under eon. smthn i'm toying around with is maybe the chieftess' predecessor being their portal master? or the chieftess herself?? yaugh anyway their ability to swap powers didn't come right when they got sent to earth, instead maybe they all came in contact w/ a stone or smthn idk i'm working it out. what determines what attributed will be swapped is a per individual thing, freeze blade gives others ice but if he swaps w/ rattle shake he won't necessarily lose his ice sorta thing. it means there's no toy aspect but uhhhhhhh i didn't ever use the swap mechanic LOL i felt it kinda screwed up play styles at times. swappers also have slight redone movesets but i haven't given it thought cause my FIFTY EIGHT FANLANDERS need them more, fire kraken def gets combos tho cause she should have them

bosses get a big overhaul cause i do not like sf bosses. so here's each one evil glumshanks > evil glumshanks + the unnamed tech guardian (she/they). their whole shtick is that [pending] is lazy and oversees the dig site, but she claims she's doing sooo muuuch wooooork so kaos sends glumshanks in with them. except she orders him around and since he's evilised (rename tba) he's more aggressive with them. their boss fight has an on rails phase cause the grind rails got underused mesmeralda > design is now specifically more arachnid, she's also one of the only non evilised bosses. i like her fight so it stays the same, idk maybe kaos' mom hired her to decorate her castle, seems like she'd be good at that fire viper > the fire viper kaos yoinked up to ensure his operations in the barrens went well. it eats petrified darkness and is a weird hot gummy worm thing with skeletal armour to protect itself. also it's before motleyville now, in iron jaw gulch (which is towards the end of the game) evilised whiskers > stays the same baron von shellshock > um i haven't thought how to make his fight less of a pushover yet lawl EVILISED TERRASQUID LET'S GOOOO :D so the terrasquid is referred to as 'bossearth' as an internal name in the prototype so she gets evilised and u gotta fight her. i know the frosthound has the concept in the strata book but i like the terrasquid. also third last boss kaos' mom > kalamity. she's a life element sorceress cause that's funny, i like the gauntlet aspect from the game but idk i need to do more thinking super evil kaos > petrified darkness kaos who's essentially just purple kaos but for most of the fight he's got cool crystal armour and i'm still trying to figure stuff out I HATE SUPER EVIL KAOS D: bosses still have the solely 3 phase rule unique to sf but they're (hypothetically) a bit more varied and are less of a 'ok do the thing then do the other thing then attack during this window!!' cause i thought it made them rlly boring

OMG 🥺 TYSMMM He’s my pride and joy and I love him so so much!!! I have sm I still wanna do with him and I'm so so excited for KHML to get him back into the action! 🫶 Unfortunately that also means he will, on some level, being Going Thru It but that's a small price to pay for more content of my boy <3 <3 <3

I hope u dont mind me taking this moment to ramble abt his general deal and vibe bc I feel like my thoughts are all scattered throughout my art with him 😭🙏 Will add a cut and reading past is ofc optional but TYSM for the interest in general! His design is so fun to doodle and he’s got a whole Dreamhouse Closet of fits 👍

But!! Basically in UX my boy joined Vulpes and got his keyblade on his bday, Dec. 25th when he turned 13-14 or so :] he started out on his own and was pretty quiet but very compassionate which paid off in the long run and got him some good friends (both in the form of Ephemer and co. and then with my friends' keykids Vivian and Vial--highly rec checking out their art too btw !!! @thequibblingking13 and @thatalien404 I love Vial and Vivi so so much as well 🥺)

As he pulled in these new friendships (and in the case of Vivi and Vial, practically family/siblingship) Alvi ends up having that compassion fuel him to become more skilled with his keyblade, learn more about how to best guilt and use medals, the best ways to Raid, etc. in order to be able to both protect/keep the people he loves safe as well as to be a teacher. He loved exploring new worlds and helping people in general and I think would end up being the kinda general Big Brother FigureTM who other kids could run to with questions--especially as he got into his later teens.

He ends up learning quite fast and scaling up pretty exponentially compared to some of his peers and, in general, ends up fairly competitive with the weekly rankings and PVP (friendly still, but ready to give it his all) and with that, he ends up taking that protector role more seriously as he becomes more competent. By the time the War really comes around when he's like 15-16, he ends up sticking around to fight in the hopes of shouldering as much weight as he can in the place of others, as well as wanting to shield Vivi and Vial as best as he can.

Though things definitely do get murkier as he gets stronger. I think that he'd always been a bit more open/neutral to darkness as a concept. He knows it can corrupt but would use it in small increments, however those would become larger and be used more often as time passed in trade for more strength--more capability. It would culminate at it's most out of control/chaotic when fighting with the Foretellers (shoutout to Ira who reflected every light attack BTW. like okay bro. u asked for this ig 😐) where he'd really just let loose and give it all, though it'd leave him weak and also pretty freaked out. Plus the whole almost dying thing definitely adds to that 😭 so he'd rein things in dramatically after waking up from the war.

As for the amnesia about the war, things shift a little bit here and I think he'd sorta wake up to reality pretty quick, especially with the nightmares. He loves Chirithy but his was never the best at lying, and despite whatever bumps in the road he and Ephemer had, he doesn't anticipate that he'd ever lie straight to his face. So when he confronts Skuld and Ephemer about it all? Well, they hesitate enough to tell him something's up at the very least--as he suspected. He's sympathetic to his friends' new position as defacto leaders though and, being a pretty natural leader-type himself, knows how precarious of a situation it is regarding information on the war. It's horribly distressing for him to remember everything to say the least, and he figures himself pretty capable of handling it, so the thought of having so many of the other kids remember en masse and just start hurting despite it being over just leaves him feeling sick. He doesn't like lying either though, and it feels wrong to hide such a huge event--which the others sympathize with bc damn they're dealing with that conflict too 😭 But, ultimately, Alvi agrees to remain quiet about the whole ordeal--even to Vivi and Vial whom he shared everything with. Which creates. Problems. 😬

In the weird mundane time they spend in the digital daybreak before things start glitching and life is just continuing "as usual" Alvi ends up inadvertently pulling back from Vivi and Vial (as they can tell something is Up) and gets closer to all of the Union Leaders! I really think he'd get along well and have unique but fun friendships with each and every one of them :> There's already that like Besties Bond with Ephemer and Skuld, but I think he'd really love Ven, Brain, and Lauriam, too. He and Lauriam would be the tallest two of the bunch and I think would lowkey prod each other about it in a mini competition as they both continued growing, he would ADORE Ven and love carrying him on his shoulders and such, and I think would just be chill and funny with Brain. Put them in a room together and the sarcasm level doubles 🤝

When Vivi and Vial finally figure things out abt the War tho, and that Alvi was actively lying to them, ehm... 😬 Things begin going downhill FAST from there. He doesn't really have any good explanation for himself as he just wanted to protect them at his core, but it was still not the best way to probably deal with it. That said though, what's WORSE is how he responds to the question of whether he'd do it again and uh. Well. 🤡🤡🤡

So suffice to say, Vivi and Vial feel pretty damn betrayed and generally angry at him but Alvi has hope they can patch things up and get it all sorted out. But with each attempt to be more transparent about things, Alvi keeps having to clam up because a lot of the stuff he's been doing have been with the Union Leaders and needs to remain kinda lowkey, so he ends up being unable to really tell that much which just comes across as condescending at best for Vivi and Vial. And then the glitches start showing up 🧍‍♂️

Alvi, in the midst of trying to both apologize and explain once more to them both, gets pulled away to go help Ephemer investigate what's going on at the Clocktower. He leaves his little siblings with the promise that, the very moment he comes home, he will tell them everything and share everything about all the worlds he's seen since--just like how things used to be. They have his word! And it's still shaky ground but a potential light at the end of the tunnel! But, well, then he and Ephemer end up in Game Central Station and things get very out of hand very fast. The end of the game unravels faster than they can keep up and the last "interaction" Alvi has with his siblings is Vivi crumbling in her own fight across town as the feeling of Alvi getting that hit to the heart from Ephemer echoes through to her oTL

The end of UX makes me SO. AUGH. I feel like I've already talked a lot but there's just So Much in my head for my poor little guy and MAN. His end would follow the canon ending of the game pretty closely. He'd stick around with Ephemer and Skuld and help see the other Leaders off in the Ark with the intention to go grab Vial and Vivi and get them inside to safety before things go wrong again. One little thing I wanna draw or poke at somehow tho is that like, I think he'd give little mementos/gifts to the others before they send them off in the ARK. To Brain and Lauriam, he'd give them each one of his earrings, Elrena would get his neon bracelets, and Ven would get a moogle chain he always kept on his dufflebag :>

As for the final fight. MANNNN. I think that Alvi would be able to put on a pretty convincing act and, somewhat bitterly, kinda goes down the line of like "Well, I really am a liar lately, so what's one more?" and he'd go all-in to ensure Ephemer was pushed to his limit. WHICH SUCKS AND HURTS MY HEART TO THINK ABOUTTT. But he'd pull it off, and he'd get that shot to the heart, and I think in that fight it's poetic if he was fighting more in a stance like YX than usual. Smth smth foreshadowing also legacy etc. 🫶🫶🫶 He'd go out proud and happy, even if it was immensely bitter knowing the last memories his friends all shared with him.

Suffice to say I have SOOOO many thoughts abt him and I am SO excited for Missing Link to do a round 2 bc I have a rough idea of what I wanna do for his arc/character-wise on his second time around and I am also so hyped to get Brain back 🥺🥺🥺 I think their friendship is going to be so so crucial to Alvi in ML and I cannot WAIT to get into it!!! And OFC THE WHOLE RAISING OF XEHANORT??? MANNNNN. He would love Xehanort with everything he had. It's so bittersweet that he would've passed before Xeha started learning how to do a whole lot with the keyblade and got all manipulated by destiny bc like. Alvi would not be perfect, but he would've loved to train him himself. Which like also ik I'm #Coping and whatever but I'm just gonna say that Alvi, after passing in KHDR, is just chilling in Quadratum bc I'm sorry but he's far too stubborn to die and just leave his son behind so soon 🫶 I only have memes with them so far but I truly believe that Alvi and Xeha have a Like Father Like Son dyanmic thang going on. A long line of guys with something wrong with them 🫶💖

Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero will be my favorite set of games forever and ever man. Mentally I'm still there and I will never leave those games gave me my passion for both robotics and deep-sea travel/creatures in real life its what made me as insane as I am today ^_^

The Reaper leviathans (and all the leviathans in the game for that matter. reefbacks are peak fuck the haters 🔥🔥) always have a little compartment in my brain and I will never shut up about their design and how effective they are when it comes to horror. The way they're introduced AFTER the player runs into the completely friendly reefbacks so their fear of "loud noise/big = bad" is subdued and broken down so their guard is lowered right before entering the dunes and feeling true primal fear for the first time apon seeing them is just executed SO perfectly I've never seen something come even close to comparing. I wouldn't say they're my favorite thing across BOTH games though because oh my goddd that spot is definitely reserved for AL-AN

Him and his whole planet will forever live in my head rent-free (both because I'm not a landlord LMAO and also. Insane about him disease) every little detail about him makes me so insane. The fact that his species is mainly robotic and mechanical so he doesn't understand a majority of Robin's feelings and experiences that she's been through, the way they built apon the original virus on 4546B by explaining the way it showed up and mutated to annihilate every species on that planet was BECAUSE of the very architects that meant to protect it. Them having to build the original quarantine system that crashed Riley's ship (The Aurora) because their bodies weren't entirely mechanical, and all of their biological components were made out of the most efficient and compatible parts of 40-ish species which means once they caught the original disease, every other species that they pulled from could now get it. That only makes them trapping the Emperor Leviathan so much sadder because they didn't realize she could communicate with them and actually give them what the whole planet so desperately needed because they talk through entirely closed off mental frequencies, so even their bio components couldn't let her talk to them. AL-AN being one of the few to try and go against the current and felt bad about what they were doing to the queen is just so in character for him, especially with how he acts to all "lower" lifeforms that Robin runs into. Him being cut off from his entire family and neural-link is just so fucking devastating and him finding that comfort and connection through Robin, going so far as to rescue her and take her off-planet with him once she builds his body will NEVERR leave me man godd what an ending

Speaking of his body, I've gotta say it's the single coolest alien design I've ever fuckin seen. Look at this shit

like oh my god??? what the fuck right??? everything about it makes me so insane. NOT TO MENTION this concept art (which IS his final design btw just not 3d rendered yet) is made by Pat Presley, who also ended up making concept art for all the other Archetects that we haven't met yet and will meet in Subnautica 3 (whenever the fuck that will begin development LMAO)

like look at how different they are from him. how much more mechanical and less colorful, more hivemind-esque and lifeless they seem. even just down to the pose he's standing in gives off so much more life than they do and it makes me INSANEEEEE his time with Robin absolutely changed him and his physical form reflects that. He is such a combination of all the other archetects while also being NOTHING like them at the same time. The fact that he is literally able to move and change the shape of his arms and be fluid the same way he is fluid and willing to change unlike all of those on his home planet is crazy to me.

Speaking of his home planet too, it's also sick as fuck and I just need to show this finale screenshot real quick because oh my GODDDD I'm losing it. You have no idea how hyped I was to watch this shit when the full game released

AND ONE MORE THING!!! speakkkinnggg of the full-game release, the game actually released in beta testing with a different opening than the final version!! and in the beta testing, you started out in the final area where the finale takes place in the final release version. Visiting that old station again at the very end of the game feels like such a nice nod to the beta-testers that feels perfectly planned out. It really makes the game come full circle, even if you don't have the context of the beta testing version to appreciate.

Subnautica is (either story or gameplay-wise) probably the objectively better game imo, but Below Zero holds such a special place in my heart for the AL-AN story line alone. Godd he makes me so insane I love him sm <3 <3 rant over thank you for the ask

today totk got released!! and I played for 8 hours straight 😭 I'm not suuper far in the game yet, I sort of just started the rito quest with tulin, but here are some things I love and dislike about the game so far:

first of all I love the archaic outfit 😊 however I'm very sad that it only does 1 protection because I wanted to wear it all the time AJDBAJDB

I love everything about the zonai, like the way they look, the music associated with them, the way they talk at the end of a shrine, the way you can tell something is of zonai make just by looking at it, like that's how you know a concept design is well done ✋ I'm so fascinated by how rauru looks, he's just so amazing

I do hate how extremely similar aspects of the great sky island are to the great plateau, though. "room of awakening" bro r u serious rn 😭 the way rauru follows you around like the king good bye. I just feel like this could have been done a little more uniquely so that it didn't feel like the great plateau with a texture pack slapped over it

there's also some things that I felt botw just did so much better than totk. like the way rauru's ghost would disappear felt very cheap and uneventful, like why does he just fade to 0 opacity and nothing else happens ?? at least with the king his ghost faded with the little blue flames and sparkles, it made it seem more interesting

I hate the inventory layout I'm sawryy 😭 the botw inventory looks very sleek and easy to comprehend, but the way the totk inventory is designed just feels very cheap and elementary to me. not the scrolling on one page instead of having multiple pages, that's not my issue. just the color design and how so much more information is crowded into each tiny box when you are selling things, it just confuses the player with too much info

uhh what else. oh! I also hate the animation for when you get the abilities at the beginning, and when you get those lights of blessing or whatever (honestly I hate that name too, why is it so long I literally can't remember it 😭). like why do the orbs with the abilities and blessings look so 2d and unfinished? they look like they were slapped on top as a fanmade effect rather than actually being a part of the game, and every time I see it, I feel removed from being immersed in the games because it's distracting

but I totally love the way the zonai statues are at the end of the shrines!!! the way they talk is SO 🙏🙏 like I'm totally obsessed with it. also!! this is very specific, but I love the music that plays during shrine battles, like why does that song go so hard fr

omg something else I love is the pony points system it's so cute 😭✋ and honestly it's a great incentive for me to use the stables, I don't think I used them that much in botw so I definitely appreciate this new addition

omg yeah I was obsessed with the frozen rito village ost, it had the core elements of the ost from botw but with that lonely haunted vibe and I was gonna cry omg it really set the mood and I loved listening to it 😭

ohh yeah something I didn't enjoy was how it felt like I was being overloaded with so much plot-heavy info, especially once I started the rito village quest. like yeah I get maybe playing for 8 hours in one day is probably gonna fry my brain and attention span but it just felt like they were telling me to do all these things and I just felt so overwhelmed that I literally had to put the game away and stop playing for the night 😭 I think if things were spaced out more for what they tell you then the plot might have been more digestible

oh yeah this is minor but I don't like how when you go to a new place it says "discovery!" and also when you cook a new food it says "new!" like it felt very commercial and broke the immersion in the game for me, there was literally no reason for it to be in the game? (upon playing the game further I've decided I don't mind the "discovery" notif. but I still don't like when it says "new!" on a food I cooked sorryyy)

OMG WAIT SOMETHING I LOVED was how link cycles through humming different things when he cooks!!! it's so cute and I love him for it 😭

also I loved the function of when you open a chest and get a weapon but your inventory is full, instead of having to close the chest drop a weapon and reopen the chest, they added the feature where your inventory pops up and you can drop a weapon while still in the chest so you don't have to switch back and forth. it was so relieving for me ✋

umm I definitely feel like there was more I wanted to say, I just forgot 😭 but let me just say, despite me having a lot of negatives on here, I still really enjoyed this game, and honestly aside from the things I mentioned I disliked, I love pretty much everything else about the game!! there's so much to love and appreciate, I really can't list it all or else I'd just be listing literally every aspect about this game ajdhskfj. so yeah. while I'm disappointed that I found parts of totk to be lesser than what I had hoped, I am still overall ecstatic about this game and I'm so excited to see what else I'll discover in this game!!!! hey I'm back (not as of writing this post, like a couple months after initially starting totk), listen ok I hate these stupid sage powers like 💀 they're literally not useful at all, I think tulin's is the only one I use regularly, and even then I'd rather have revali's gale bc at least it goes up ??

I've been watching other ppl play and I realize that actually yunobo and riju can kinda be useful when fighting large groups, like if you just activate yunobi's ability you don't really need to aim him, and he'll hit a bunch of monsters. same with riju, just activate her and shoot somewhere random and it'll do damage. but other than that, like sidon and mineru are useless 😭 also I get rlly annoyed when I'm trying to pick things up and tulin gets in the way like GIRL GO AWAY ugh it would just be so much better if the abilities were activated like the champions instead idk

ok I'm obsessed with the way rauru's ear twitches LOLL THAT'S SO RANDOM but in the memories it's just so satisfying to see

hm idk how to explain this but there's some aspects of this game that feel very aoc to me and it annoys me. like, the defend kara kara bazaar + gerudo village quests, and that one thing in hateno with the stupid pumpkins, idk but it totally threw me off guard with having to fight with npcs, like it felt very jarring to have in the middle of totk. i never liked aoc or any hyrule warriors games so that's probably why I don't like this very much, but yeah I just didn't enjoy it very much

god I can't describe how much I hate everything abt mineru I'm sorry I just hate her bc like,, bro I hate to say it but I never connected with her character at all. every part of her in the storyline felt forced, and her connection to zelda and the sages never felt authentic. also I hate the eng voice acting like why does she talk like that 😭

her talking about draconification felt sooo forced. she said "there are stories of eating the stone to turn into an immortal dragon" like that could be a solution, then when rauru asked if they could do that, she was like "however 🤓☝️ you'll lose your sense of self and it's forbidden. I thought this would give us an answer but maybe not 😞" like BITCH IF YOU KNEW IT WAS FORBIDDEN WHY WOULD YOU SAY ANYTHING 😭😭 the way she said it, it sounded like she was reading a book and learning this information as they went, which would make sense why she brought it up but turns out it won't work. BUT SHE KNEW THE FULL THING ALREADY WHY DID SHE SAY IT LIKE THAT???? god it annoyed me so much, it was such a bad foreshadowing plot point

and honestly her entire quest confused me, bc the whole first part has a very thunder/lightning theme so I thought her power would be related to that but it wasn't at all? like how come we didn't do anything spirit related meanwhile all the other sages had areas that related to their powers, ugh it felt so dumb. lightning is already heavily associated with riju + the gerudo, so it felt weird that they themed the whole first half of mineru's quest around it too.

I hate her stupid construct. IT'S SO LAME 😭 has anyone actually enjoyed fighting with it. has it actually benefitted anyone. like be so fr rn. I hated it so much that I built a freaking airbike and just flew to the final temple without fighting any of the stuff along the way bc I refuse to be forced to do things I don't like 🫶

and then at the end of the game when her spirit leaves her construct and she dies or whatever, I was just like 😐 they tried to make it emotional but literally mineru is my worst enemy and I was cheering and applauding atp. like I could care less. her character felt, idk how to describe it, like.. cringy and self-inserty? something about it felt very off to me and so I was just never able to like her. it felt like nintendo was trying to force me to like her and I was Not about to let that happen

hang on I have other things to complain about... oh yeah the STABLE TROTTER CONDUCTOR LIKE BRO 😭😭😭 why does he sound like mario, like I actually want to punch him in the face. the rest of the band is fine tho, I like their music 🤞

hm something I'm annoyed about is how much harder it is to find the dragons now. in botw their flight pattern was more predictable, but here like istg I can never find them when I need them 😭 it's just vv inconvenient

ok I'm back back. I think that about covered all my thoughts BUT one more thing. the map is so fucking cluttered. something that was done so well with botw was the openness of everything, it really fit the vibes and it immersed you in the expanse of the game. but the totk map was WAYY too busy 😭😭 not only with the purah pad map (which btw I still think sheikah slate is a better name) but just in general when you're walking around hyrule. there is Too Much going on and I don't like it

LAST THING although tbh this could be a whole separate rant. the way the purah pad is compatible with zonai technology makes no fucking sense???? like there is NO logical explanation for how it can mark waypoints at zonai shrines

in botw it made sense, because the shrines were sheikah-made and so was the slate, so ofc the sheikah would have built them to be compatible and programmable with one another. but the zonai shrines??? first of all they're just rocks on sand. no sort of technology the purah pad can latch onto. second, you activate the shrine with the ZONAI ARM, not the purah pad. literally no connection is made. this is such a small thing to fixate on but every time I think about it I am filled with inexplicable rage

I have a whole OTHER rant on why the sheikah tech disappearing makes literally No Sense but. this post is long enough as it is. if u want I can make a separate post but I think this is good enough for now 🤗

The Robinsons have always dreamed for a daughter ever since they were married, and 2 years after their marriage, Mrs. Robinson is confirmed to be pregnant. The couple is pleased when they hear the news, especially when the doctor claims that the child is a girl; and so, they waited with excitement for 9 months. Finally, the day has come.

Mr. Robinson waits outside the delivering room as his wife gives birth in the room. After a while, a nurse comes to inform Mr. Robinson that his wife has successfully given birth and is now resting. Upon hearing the news, he rushed to see his wife as well as his new born child. However, as Mr. Robinson sees the child, his face turned quite upset; despite the baby having a feminine appearance, the baby is, in fact, a boy.

“I’m so sorry Mr. and Mrs. Robinson…I did not expect the baby to be a boy…” The doctor apologizes to the Robinson couple. However, Mr. Robinson replies, “It’s alright, doctor… In fact, I suppose we can treat him like a girl, even if he is actually a boy. What do you think, dear?” “That is a good idea, John (Mr. Robinson). Even though he’s a boy, I don’t think it’s bad to think of him as our daughter.” By the way, the Robinson couple is very remarkable for their kindness and optimistic thinking, which is why both Mr. and Mrs. Robinson gave such response.

After the doctor leaves the room, the couple starts discussing about the name of the new born baby. “What do you think we should call him, John?” “How about Louis?” “That’s a boy’s name, you dummy!” “Hahaha! Indeed it is! I’m not good at names, after all!” Mr. and Mrs. Robinson have a very good relationship; Mr. Robinson, who was once a professional chef, is very amusing and nice, though he can get serious sometimes, while Mrs. Robinson, a clothes designer, is gentle, always talking in a soft voice. “Let’s give him a cute name…how about Melody?” Mrs. Robinson suggests. “That’s a very cute name…Yup! “Waaaah~ Mom!! I’m being bullied again!” Melody, now developed into an innocent, still childish 12 year old girl (boy), rushes home and says to his mom. “There, there. What happened this time, darling?” “Sniff, sniff…Pierre and Andy took my plush toy and teased me about being girly…it was…sniff…Ai who chased them away…” Ai is a tomboyish 13 year old girl. She is Melody’s closest friend, and she never cares much about Melody being a boy; because of that, Melody adores and admires her very much. “Again, huh…Well, next time you see her, give some of our home-made cookies to her as a gift of gratitude, okay?” Mrs. Robinson says gently as she pats Melody on the head. Overhearing the conversation, Mr. Robinson shows up and says, “Also, Melody, if you see Ai getting bullied someday, be sure to protect her! Show her that you’re brave enough to protect her, too!” He rubs Melody’s head with his hand, “Now, go change into Mom’s new made dress and have some milk tea!” “…Sniff…Okay!” Melody, cheered up by his parents, smiles and dashes upstairs to his room; however, what his dad said concerns him. In his room, Melody talks to his black cat plush Café, who he thinks is his “friend” when Ai isn’t around. “Café, what do you think I should do? Like what dad said, I can’t always have Ai protect me… sigh…If only I am strong enough to protect her…”

The next day, everything goes as normal, until Melody gets bullied again. The culprit today is a guy named Tommy, nicknamed “The Beast” by most students in the school. He is a fearsome bully in the school, always threatening weaker students in the school to gain money or free lunch etc. He was never in trouble ever since he entered the school because whenever he finishes bullying the students, he warns them not to tell the teacher or he’ll tell them what true pain feels like, scaring the students. In an empty classroom, Tommy asks Melody, “What’s that you’re holding, little “girl”?” “N-nothing…” Scared, Melody hides the cookies that are meant for Ai behind her. “Show me, what is it?” “I-it’s really n-nothing…” “I said, SHOW ME!!!” “P-please, just let me go…” “So you want to take it the hard way, huh? Alright, then!” Tommy raises his arm, preparing to punch Melody, but just before his fist hits Melody, somebody blocks the punch with her hand.

“Ai!” Melody shouts as he shed tears of joy. “So, the princess has come to the rescue, huh?” “I will not allow you to hurt anyone, especially Melody!” “Says the princess who’s about to fall to the ground!” Tommy punches Ai with his other hand, but is also blocked by Ai. However, Tommy smiles, because he made her block the punch intentionally. Using his immense strength, he pushed Ai down to the ground, and starts walking towards her. Ai tries to stand but the pain in her body after being pushed down weakens her, so she sat on the ground as she watches Tommy terrifyingly. Just then, Melody stands in front of Ai, blocking Tommy’s way. “What, you want to get beaten up too?!” Tommy shouts at Melody in rage, but Melody shouts back, “I-I will protect Ai! I am s-strong enough to protect her, y-you moron!” Irritated furthermore, Tommy grabs Melody’s shirt dress’s collar, shouting, “You are making me so mad!! You want to taste true pain, huh?! WELL THEN!!”

Suddenly, the classroom door slams open. “Tommy! You’re in a very big trouble now! How dare you bully people in the school?!” The person shouting is Melody and Ai’s PE teacher, Mr. Parker. Standing next to him is Ai’s friend, Jessica. “Oh my god! Ai, are you alright?” Jessica runs towards Ai to check. “Oww…Yeah, nothing much other than all the damn pain I’m suffering now…” While Jessica talks to Ai, Mr. Parker walks towards Tommy, who drops Melody to the ground. “Good thing that Jessica came to get me right after she saw the scene. Tommy, or rather, “The Beast” as from what I’ve heard, you are going to the principal’s office with me! Now!” Tommy follows Mr. Parker and leaves the classroom. As he leaves, he murmurs with hatred, “You will pay for this, Melody…” The next day, everyone in the school is told that “The Beast” Tommy is expelled from school. Everyone, whether they’re the victims or not, celebrate upon hearing the wonderful news, but as they celebrate, Melody has a bad feeling for unknown reasons…

A month later, Melody arrives at school, and as he enters his classroom, he is blocked by a crowd of students. Feeling curious, he squeezes into the crowd to see what is happening. However, upon seeing the scene, his heart breaks. A dead body is lying on a pool of blood, and that the dead person…is Ai. “AI!!!” Melody screams hysterically, drawing everyone’s attention. He tries to run towards Ai’s corpse, but is stopped by the policemen who are investigating the scene. “LET ME GO!! I WANT TO SEE AI!! AI!!” Melody continues screaming as he tries to run through the policemen. At last, he sits on the floor and starts crying desperately. Even though Mr. Parker and other students try to calm him down and comfort him, Melody’s tears just doesn’t stop coming out from her eyes. Just then, he notices something lying next to Ai’s body – a leather wallet. Melody knows that Ai brings a cutely designed purse with her all the time, and not a leather wallet. Therefore, in order to know the truth, he takes the leather wallet from the scene while the policemen are distracted and hid it in his pocket.

That night, he takes out the wallet he stole from the scene, and opens it; there is a 20 dollar bill, a 10 dollar bill, and a credit card – wait, there is another card behind the credit card, he thinks. He puts the credit card away, and he is surprised – the card behind the credit card is actually Tommy’s school ID. Knowing who the culprit is, Melody rages. “Tommy…you…I will kill you! You will not get away with this! I swear!” He scrunches the ID as she speaks in rage.

Since the incident, many students start becoming friends with Melody due to sympathy. Melody is happy, but he doesn’t stop thinking about taking revenge on Tommy from that. On Melody’s birthday, which is December 12th, he receives many gifts from his friends at school, and after he gets home, his parents also celebrates his birthday by having a cat designed chocolate cake made by Mr. Robinson with his parents, and giving him a black dress designed by Mrs. Robinson as his birthday present. Melody is filled with joy and happiness throughout the day; not just because how wonderful this day is, but also because he has decided to take revenge on Tommy tomorrow.

The next day, December 13th, is a Black Friday. Melody decides that he will end everything on this day. He has his day at school normally, and waited until 10pm, when his parents are asleep. He puts on the dress he got earlier, takes a kitchen knife from the kitchen and takes off quietly. After walking along the road for a while, he arrives at Tommy’s house. He sneaks into Tommy’s room from his window, where Tommy is playing video games on his computer. “Dammit! I died again! Why is this boss so hard to defeat?!” Tommy complains as he watches the Game Over screen on his computer. Melody creeps behind Tommy, and whispers “Tommy…” “Huh? What?” Tommy looks back, but nothing was behind him. “Weird…” Tommy has his attention return to the screen. Just then, he feels cold for some reason. He turns around again, seeing his opened window. “What…? I thought I closed the window…odd…” Tommy, who is feeling too cold by the breeze, as well as getting annoyed by the sound of the wind, leaves his computer and walks towards the window to close it. As he closes the window, however, he hears someone whispering behind him again, saying “I will kill you” As he is able to hear the sentence clearer this time, he immediately elbowed whatever it is that is behind him, in which he turns around to see Melody sitting on the ground, suffering from getting elbowed in the stomach. “Melody?! The hell are you doing in here?!” “Ai…you killed her…I will take revenge for her!!!!!” Melody dashes to punch Tommy, but he’s too weak to make Tommy feel pain. “What, you want a fight?! Bring it on!!” Tommy tries to punch Melody, but Melody is light enough to dodge before Tommy hits him. After dodging, Melody uses the knife he took with him to stab Tommy in the arm, making Tommy shout. “Aaaaarrrggghhh!!!” Then Melody quickly stabs him multiple times in the stomach, causing him to shout even louder. Tommy, feeling too painful, then kneels on the ground, but before he can react, he feels the knife pressing against his neck. “W-what do you want?” Tommy questions Melody. “You killed Ai! I saw your wallet lying next to her body!” Melody shouts in tears. “I…cough… killed her by accident! Okay?! I fought with her before school starts that day…cough… I pushed her to the wall, and she hit herself in the head… she never…cough… woke up since…I was so scared that… I ran from the school…” Tommy explains the truth, coughing blood as he speaks. “LIES! YOUR LYING!!!” Melody, overwhelmed by his own rage, refuses to listen, and presses the knife against Tommy’s neck harder. “Please! Leave me alone! I beg you! I’m telling the truth! Cough!” “Lies, lies, lies, LIES! You killed her on purpose! I will avenge for Ai! DIE!!!” Tommy then starts to feel the knife sliding to the right. “PLEASE, DON’T! NOOOOO---” Before Tommy is able to finish his sentence, Melody slits his throat, killing him. Tommy falls to the ground, with blood leaking out from his neck, stomach and arm. “It’s all over…Ai… I’ve taken revenge for you…” Melody says. Just then, Melody hears footsteps coming closer towards the room. He opens the window and jumps out before whoever it is comes into the room. “Tommy, are you playing computer games aga -- Hyaaaaaaa!!!!” Tommy’s mom walks into the room as she is about to scold Tommy, but she screams upon seeing the corpse lying on the ground. Tommy’s dad then comes in, with the same reaction after seeing the body.

The next day, the news about Tommy being killed can now be heard all around the town. Melody is happy, but he doesn’t feel satisfied; can it be that I haven’t killed enough people to count as revenge for Ai? He thought. “Yes, that must be it…I will kill all those who deserve to die… for the sake of Ai… Hehehehe…” Melody murmurs as he giggles…. That night, he prepares himself to leave, like yesterday. Except… this time, it will be a long journey. Before he leaves, he leaves a note behind on her bed.

He first arrives at Joshua’s house to kill Joshua, a student in the school who Melody hates the most because of all the insults he said when Ai isn’t around. As usual, he sneaks into Joshua’s room as quietly as a cat, but he sees no one in the room, so he decides to hide and wait for him. After a while, Joshua comes into the room, and sees Melody’s Café sitting on his bed. “Hm? Isn’t this…the doll that girly boy always carry?” Joshua asks himself confusedly. “Meow…” “W-what? Did that doll just say “Meow”?” “Meow…pay for Ai’s death… NOW.” Right after the sentence ends, Melody, who was the one talking as Café the whole time, suddenly appears in front of Joshua. Joshua, startled by Melody’s sudden appearance, falls to the floor, and just when he is about to scream, Melody’s palm covers his mouth. “Shhh… be quiet, don’t ruin the ritual, okay?” Joshua tries to speak, but with the palm covering his mouth, he can do nothing but watch. Melody takes out the knife, and cuts open Joshua’s belly, showing all of his organs. Joshua tries to scream and struggle, but every time he struggles, Melody stabs him with the knife to keep him still. “Hmmm… what should you pay her death with…? Ah, I know!” With his hand, Melody grabs Joshua’s heart and pulls it out from his body. “Your heart is a perfect contribution! Thanks, Joshua! … Huh? You’re not listening?” Melody talks to Joshua, who died from overwhelming pain and blood loss. “Oops, my bad! Hehe~” Melody makes a cute, devilish smile. He spreads Joshua’s blood on her lips, as if he’s putting on lipsticks. “That’s a nice color your blood has, Joshua!” Melody kisses Joshua’s cheeks, leaving a kissing mark on it. He puts the heart in a bag, and leaves the house.

After that, he continues to murder more of those who he thinks should contribute for Ai’s death. That night, a total of 7 people were killed.

“Melody, come down for breakfa--- Oh my god!!” Mr. Robinson, who comes into Melody’s room to wake her up, sees no one in the room. He tries to find her in the room, but he still can’t find her. Just then, he notices a note lying on the bed. He picks up the note and reads it. The note says, “Dear mom and dad, I will be out for a while! I want to take revenge for Ai, so I won’t be back for a very, very long time! Love, Melody <3” Mr. Robinson, who is terrified by the note Melody left behind, runs downstairs to tell Mrs. Robinson about Melody’s disappearance. Upon hearing the news, Mrs. Robinson burst into tears, and Mr. Robinson hugs his wife as he cries with her.

“This is the Everyday News, bringing you the newest information every day. I am Christopher Williams, the reporter today. Recently, there have been continuous murders in the town, and the culprit of such massacre is suspected to be a cross-dressing boy named “Melody Robinson”, as his parents, John Robinson and Sophia Robinson reported that he left behind a note that says he wants to take revenge for a girl who was killed before the massacre happened.

“Please find Melody! Please find our beloved son!”

“If you see him, please tell us immediately! We want to see him as soon as possible!” As you can see, his parents are very, very worried right now. So remember, if you have seen a girl wearing a black dress, holding a black cat doll, please report us immediately, as it might be the person we’re looking for.”

In the cemetery where Ai is buried, Melody chooses a time when no one is around to visit Ai’s grave. He stands in front of her grave, places a bag of organs from those who she has killed, and says, “Now that I’ve got all the contributions from the bad guys, I’m sure you’ll be satisfied in heaven, Ai. I feel very righteous when I beat the bad guys, by the way… Do you think I should go kill for all those that are like you? … You said yes? Yay! If that’s the case, I will leave the town for a while! Okay?” Melody kisses the grave, and leaves the cemetery.

“Hey, lil’ guy, watchu got there? Ooh, an iPhone? Sweet! Gimme that!” A bully said to a boy afterschool. “N-no, I can’t give you that…” “Watchu say punk?! I dare you t’ say that again!!” “N-n-n-nothing! H-here…” The boy passes the phone to the bully as he cries. “Hahaha! That’s hella nice! I’ll be keepin’ this for a while, ‘aight?” The bully concludes, and leaves the scene.

He goes back home, and enters his room to admire his new iPhone, but as he takes it out from his pocket, he hears whispers coming from behind. “It’s not good to bully people, big guy~” “Huh?!” He looks back, and sees a girl standing behind him. “W-what?!” Startled, the bully backs away from the girl, and questions the girl, “Who are you?! How did you get in ‘ere?!” The girl slowly walks towards the bully, takes out a knife, and said, “Oh, I’m kind of a passerby…” The girl switches from walking to dashing, and before the bully can scream, his mouth is covered by the girl’s palm. “Shhh…Don’t ruin the fun for me, okay? …As I was saying… I am just a passerby… who punishes evildoers for justice! So, now that you have committed a crime, you will have to contribute to the victim… with, your, body! ♥”

“Do you ever think about how most of the Universal classic monsters aren’t really monsters? In the sense of being true, born monsters. Most definitions of the word ‘monster’ mention a strange or frightening imaginary creature, usually large in size. That of course is the most literal definition. The word ‘monster’ is also used to describe the cruelty of one’s actions. Both of these are associated with being inhuman in some sense.

Now let’s look at our roster of monsters and see who applies. Gill-Man, or the creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Wolfman fit the imaginary creature bill pretty closely, but even the Wolfman was human once.

Frankenstein’s monster is of course called a monster and is designed to provoke disgust, but he’s a collection of human parts. He was designed by a human brain, has one of his own and even a human heart. If anything he’s painfully human because of that. “He’s a monster because of his actions!” I hear you say. Does he act out in violence and cause destruction and death? Yes. But were those behaviors he displayed as soon as he sprung to life? No. Just like you and I, society made him a monster. They were scared of him, scared of his existence. Frightened and disgusted by his looks and taking all his actions in the most evil light they could, they called him a monster and retaliated with violence. When the creature fights back out of defense, he’s only confirming the humans bias of him being a horribly violent thing, thus perpetuating the cycle. We see this in the Phantom of the Opera and Quasimodo as well. Two men who are human, but due to their physical appearances were cast out and deemed monsters. Gill-Man to some extent, also applies here if instead we use the comparison of a fish native to its pond instead of humans. They invaded his natural habitat and then got frightened when he tried to protect his home. That’s like breaking into someone’s house and being shocked that the homeowner would try to protect themselves and their things.

The two “monsters” I feel are outliers to this are Dracula and the Invisible Man. Dracula is a monster, a species different to us driven by dark desire. Vampirism as a whole is a reflection of humans fears of their own want for said dark desires, but that’s another conversation. At its surface Dracula is a monster, but his appearance says otherwise. Bela Legosi was a gorgeous man, and his charming look was definitely important to what was trying to be told. Vampires are meant to be seductive, it makes sense for a handsome man to play the pinnacle role. But he’s still a monster and is called a monster. With the Invisible Man, the concept of a guy turning himself invisible is supposed to be bizarre, and the idea of not being able to see someone is supposed to invoke fear, but that’s not why Dr. Jack Griffin is considered a monster. He’s a monster because immediately upon realizing how much destruction he can cause as an invisible man, he takes that opportunity to cause as much chaos as possible. His abilities aren’t enhanced being invisible, he’s just a man who can’t be seen, yet he’s probably the Universal monster with the highest body count. He derails a whole train just because he can. The fact that he is physically invisible and defied nature to do so is supposed to be unsettling to think about, but the true fear comes from not knowing what he’s going to do or having any way to predict what’s coming from him.

Something all the monsters have in common is being slates for society to project their current fears onto. Moral panic and horror have always gone hand in hand. God, Belos sent a search party and is pretending like he's all worried. he hasn't told anyone he ran away. but we know what'll happen if he goes back to the castle *shudders*

the acting and animation for the panic attack, the breathing and the hesitation were done with a lot of care. I also like that it's in "Gus' room"
