The Meta is so fucked... well I mean it's BEEN fucked but now it's EXTRA fucked.
Re-Armed Sonya:
Tumblr media
Suzuki Rika never fails to hit hard. That design is gorgeous.
2. MYCEN!!!
Tumblr media
WE GOT OUR GRANDPA!!! And he's drawn by So-Taro!!!
3. ... Attuned... Heroes... lovely. Also so funny how Triandra's skill sucks compared to Peony's, in terms of utility.
4. Marla!! How awesome! I'm glad it wasn't Jedah, he's a good villain but also I think Marla and Hestia needed more love as antagonists. She's definitely gonna be a merge project.
Overall, this banner had some interesting choices, but I'd have to still say it was disappointing. We really only got two new Valentia characters, which was Mycen and Hestia; I feel as though they should have at least thrown in one more but I get that they're trying to stretch it out. I'm super torn on Sonya because I think she's cool and she's finally getting more love, but also I feel like she took someone else's spot. Again, if FEH is so afraid of running their remaining Valentia characters dry, they can use the Cipher characters! Shade, Emma, Randal, and Yuzu exist guys! They're officially in Valentia even if it's DLC!

@sonyawix Alas, my exile was self-imposed until I wrote something. Even Whumptober didn't produce anything worthy of seeing (gave me some future ficlet ideas that will be fun though). I do not deserve tumblr-time when I apparently decided to just not write at all during 2024.
So I skipped ahead and started on this year's Ficmas offerings instead (now is the time to make your demands), and I always make sure I have some new Anathema for you! We have a little scene from Ch 3ish, for the second 'official' meeting of the Cullens.
Adding Demon Jasper and Feral Jasper/Mary-Alice to the upcoming list. Honestly, I was not expecting Demon Jasper to make a blip on anyone's radar, I am delighted people enjoyed that verse. And I love that My Nonsense (anything involving Mary-Alice) sparks joy for anyone.
So I offer up this part of Anathema, and hope it sparks joy. One thing I am loving about Anathema is that the first half pretty much outlined itself. We love fics that have direction and aspiration.
I always love hearing from you, Sonya, thank you for the message <3
Notes: This was an experimental scene to fix the pacing of the first meeting vs the Cullens getting involved with the Brandons. I wanted to establish that Edward and Alice will have a rapport in this fic, and to set more of the scene of how the Cullens do end up in cahoots with the rest of the Council. And to lay a lot of groundwork for Alice getting to know the Cullens as individuals.
There's a fairly robust few scenes between the first meeting and this that I'm not happy with yet. Even these parts are extremely rough. I've also been doing a lot of research into supernatural creatures and cryptids around North America to try and work on world-building a little more (some of this is a throwback to the OG draft of Afterglow which was fun). So any details that don't entirely match up have been noted and will be fixed when this gets posted on AO3.
--
The second time we officially run into the Cullens is more than three weeks later. And it goes about as well as anything else in my life does as the unluckiest person to ever live.
This is one excursion that I am allowed out of the house for - other than taking Dulcie's purse to her at the salon, and riding my bike to pick up Chinese food for dinner, I have been house-bound. It's almost as if Freddie - and Sue, for that matter - are certain that if I am not under full supervision, I'll run away to the Cullen house to join them all in whatever debauchery vampires get up to all day.
Which, from Dulcie's gossip, seems to be mostly work at the hospital for Dr Cullen, and going to high school for the 'kids'. Very scandalous. But despite me pointing out that I didn't know (precisely, yet) where the Cullen house is and that sneaking around both Forks Hospital and the high school were only going to draw the attention of gossips and probably Charlie Swan in an official capacity, Freddie kept both eyes on me.
I was going a little stir-crazy - not only had I been on house arrest, we'd only had one 'client', and he'd just been placed in cold storage whilst private preparations were made. So when Charlie summoned us all to the backwoods for a meeting, I wasn't complaining. Even tramping through the mud of the woods to have a secret clandestine meeting was better than cleaning or sitting around the apartment.
But no one was expecting Charlie Swan to be standing in our clearing with three figures. Three figures that nearly had me running back to the car. Lamia. Freddie's hand clamped down on my shoulder firmly; not to be cruel, but to protect me - showing any kind of aversion to a lot of the creatures that passed through was dangerous. It provoked some of them to strike. And lamia loved young girls.
"These three were passing through," Charlie Swan said uncomfortably. "Left a mess in Port Angeles."
"Very gracious of Mister Swan to introduce us." The tallest was over six feet, with waist-length dark hair. But like all old Lamia - and there were more than you'd think, honestly - she was unnaturally thin, her skin bleached, like she'd been forgotten in the sun for too long. Her hair looked sharp and brittle, like fine wire. And as she spoke, a serpentine hiss caught on the tails of her words. The only spark of colour was the dried-blood colour of her eyes and sockets - even her lips and tongue were stained black. Her fingernails were unnaturally long and looked more like bone than anything resembling keratin.
"What kind of mess?" Harry Clearwater said flatly. He wasn't subtle; he'd brought a shotgun.
The two younger Lamia looked down, as if regretful.
"We fed." The words are simple but every adult around me visibly recoils. I'm kind of numb to it - maybe it would be more horrific if I was older.
But the way that the Lamia speaks - almost smugly, as if to intentionally upset everyone here - annoys me beyond explanation. Odds are that anyone they fed on was young enough to have a mom and dad waiting at home for them, worried. That they wouldn't even get simple news that they were gone - they'd have to wait weeks for DNA testing to confirm who this bony old bitch had torn into.
"You need to go." Everyone swings around to look at me, and I'm kind of surprised I spoke as well. My words sound polite but firm, and there's a distinct undercurrent there I barely recognize in myself. I don't think I've ever spoken that way to anyone in my life.
"Excuse me, child?" Her eyes narrow.
//
I can see it happening as if it's in slow-motion; Harry lifting the shotgun, one of the younger Lamia reaching out for him with a look that meant someone was going to die; Charlie Swan had his service weapon out and I just… stepped forward and shoved the monster backwards.
It was gross, honestly. Between their age and their powers, their clothing is essentially a second flesh-covered skin that crackles under my hands. Their actual skin is so thin that I could feel, for that split second, all their organs churning. The smell of blood was overpowering, and I just wanted her to break into a million pieces.
Except...
//
"That was the most disgusting thing I have ever lived through," I half-shrieked as I made my way back to the meeting place. Sue followed with the flashlight, offering platitudes. "Why do these creatures always decide to be disgusting around me? I'm not going to be able to salvage any of those clothes."
"She could have killed you, Alice. You should have left her alone." Sue's words aren't convincing; the look on her face when I had stepped forward meant she saw imminent death was coming for both Harry and Charlie before I intervened.
"Well, she succeeded in murdering that pair of jeans," I said crankily, turning into the clearing. "…Oh."
The Cullens had shown up, and none of them looked happy.
And of course, I was now wearing a pair of flannel pyjama bottoms with bleach stains and an oversized Newtons Outfitters hoodie, with my hair scraped off my face from my impromptu water-bottle hair wash. I looked like I'd just rolled out of bed, and the Cullens looked like they'd stepped out of the pages of Vogue.
Jasper lingered just behind the bigger one - Emmett, I think I'd heard someone call him. He nodded at me when I met his gaze, and it was almost like he … relaxed somehow.
I was mostly embarrassed that I looked like this in front of him. He was wearing the softest looking black sweater I had ever seen, and immaculate jeans. My jeans were soaking in a bait bucket full of salt and vinegar, and would still be thrown in the garbage.
Just once, I wanted to look less like a grubby schoolgirl in front of him. Them. Not being swallowed up by thrift store winter coats or rejected clothing stashed in the car for incidents like this.
This absolutely wouldn't be an issue if I went to school. I'd be able to wear all the cute outfits I'd been planning in front of him - them - and look vaguely normal.
"We heard there was a meeting," Dr Cullen began. "We weren't notified."
"You weren't invited," Billy Black shot back firmly. "Your role is to keep us informed if others of your kind are in the area. The rest of our business doesn't involve you."
Freddie looked warily between the Council and the Cullens. "We gather as necessity dictates, and which parties are required," he said neutrally. "This was not a meeting that required your presence."
"Can we know what the meeting was about?" The red-headed boy stepped forward with the kind of confidence that belied his apparent age. "It would be helpful if we knew what was in the area."
Silence.
"We keep the area safe for the residents. We get a lot of things passing through," Charlie Swan said finally.
"But it would be immensely helpful if we knew exactly what we were dealing with - especially if injuries present at the hospital," Dr Cullen said earnestly.
I made a face - I remembered the absolute panic at Forks Hospital when the Nezhit had blown through a few years back. Having someone in the know dealing with the hospitalisations wouldn't be the worst idea…
…Who was I kidding, I was willing to make any argument if it meant I might be able to have a conversation with Jasper where I wasn't wearing glorified pyjamas, probably reeking of vomit. I definitely needed to stash more toiletries in the back of the car from now on.
I slunk towards a nearby boulder to take a seat, Freddie looking over to make sure I didn't stray too far. I knew there would be a lecture about my actions with the Lamia when I got home - even if I was preventing at least two gruesome murders, the rule was that I observed silently.
"Injuries are typically very low," Sue Clearwater said in a no-nonsense tone. "We manage fine."
"But didn't you just say that she was nearly harmed?" Mrs Cullen gestured at me. "Sweetheart, what happened?"
I scowled. "Lamia," I said, and Emmett Cullen let out a chuckle at the sound of loathing in my voice. "Did you know that the young ones don't so much as spit venom, but kind of projectile vomit when startled? And their venom is more along the lines of 'caustic rotting human tissue smoothie'? It was chunky."
"That is disgusting," the blonde girl said sharply.
"It was. And I was covered in it," I said, jumping when I heard a rumble coming from my left. Jasper; he looked pissed. Was he growling again?
"Why were you anywhere near them?" he asked, in that rough voice that sounded like it wasn't used very often, his eyes piercing through me.
"Easy, Jas," Emmett turned to look at his brother.
"She was going for Harry's throat," I said. "I just gave her a shove."
"You shoved a Lamia?" Dr Cullen looked at me with bewilderment.
"I'm not allowed to carry a weapon," I replied. Both Dr and Mrs Cullen looked taken aback.
"We need to be present at these meetings," Jasper said abruptly. "For protection."
"Protection?" Harry Clearwater sneered. "From you?"
"We'd be happy to help," Mrs Cullen tried again, and the blonde girl scoffed.
"We're faster and stronger than most other creatures," the redhead said - Edward? That might have been his name.
"I mean…" Charlie Swan looked at my uncle. "Not many things we come across will try and negotiate with a local coven. It could encourage a lot of them to move on sooner."
"We don't need a voice in these meetings unless they directly involve us," Dr Cullen continued. I was watching the negotiations without drawing attention to the fact that Jasper was moving closer to me, leaning against the other end of the rock I was perched on - and honestly, trying not to giggle at how unsubtle he was being. "We simply want to make sure that none of you come to harm doing your duties."
"I really don't think this is necessary." Sue looked angry and was talking in that short, clipped way she did before she was about to blow - I remembered what happened when Seth and his friends tried to make s'mores with a cut gasline when Seth was, like, eight.
"A Lamia could have killed any of you before anyone could react. You could have been scraping Alice's remains off the rock," Edward shot back.
"Where did they go, anyway?" I asked, forgetting my plan to avoid drawing attention to the fact that Jasper was only three feet away from me - and that was a generous estimate.
"Alice, come over here," Freddie insisted, and I pretended not to hear him.
"They didn't stick around," Charlie Swan said shortly. My gaze fell to the shotgun in Harry's hands.
"We were downwind," Emmett winked at me.
"They won't return - they're heading up to Canada," Edward added before his gaze fell towards Jasper. "No."
"They attacked her," Jasper said, looking at his brother with a flat gaze. "They moved to attack the whole group."
"And they killed some kids in Port Angeles," I volunteered. "Probably teenage girls."
"Someone is going to have to check the bodies to make sure we don't have a fresh Lamia on the rise," Freddie said tiredly. "Charlie, if you put in the request for I.Ding for me tonight, I can drive up tomorrow."
"They're murdering children?" the blonde stepped to the front, her gaze hard.
"There are two parallel species of Lamia," Freddie said, trying to catch my attention. Jasper hadn't attempted to move any closer but was surreptitiously watching me. I wasn't budging; this was the closest I had been to Jasper Cullen since he arrived and I was curious about so many things - and enjoying the fact that he seemed to be just as curious of me. "You can tell the difference based on the presence of scaling surrounding the cheekbones and feet. One hunts men, the other prefers young people, usually girls."
"Three girls, around fourteen," Charlie Swan confirmed grimly. "I.Ding them will be difficult, so we shouldn't have any issue getting that approved, Fred."
"Rose," Edward said warningly and she sneered at him, tucking herself next to Emmett.
I looked over at Jasper then, to find him watching me carefully.
"They didn't hurt you?" he asked softly. I shook my head.
"We'll protect you." He looks away when he says that, back at the group.
It's not an offer now; it's a firm insistence - the kind of tone that doesn't accept arguments or compromise. Who was he before he joined the Cullens? He didn't look that much older than me, really; like… all the Cullens, really, he physically looked young but there was age and time in the way they carried themselves, the way they spoke, the look in their eyes. Every single one of them looked a little bit haunted, honestly.
Edward looked exasperated but was watching me carefully. He was strange in a genuinely interesting way.
Jasper looked back over at me as Dr Cullen tried to soften the new requirement for their continued presence at any public meetings with Sue and Charlie.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked over at my uncle, who didn't look happy.
"Come on, Alice," Freddie said, and he sounded more tired than annoyed. "It's time to go. We'll discuss this with the Cullens later."

Solar Opposites in Mighty Solars Issue #39: “Danger in Blood” Ch. 2
Tumblr media
The scene changes to the next morning. Kano arises from his sleep and looks at Qourra steering the ship. She has dark circles under her eyes from lack of sleep.
Kano: You should get some rest. We'll be there in a few hours. You'll need all your strength.
Qourra: Oh, don't you worry about my strength. I have plenty. I'm not the helpless little girl I was when they came.
The scene fades into a flashback of the Raiders' attack.
Young Qourra: I’m gonna find mom!
She runs nervously past her brother. Several villagers are shown running about in a frantic motion. The camera focuses on young Qourra again, who arrives at their igloo and pushes back the curtain.
Young Qourra: Mom!
She runs in to discover her mother seated on the floor, a man towering over her.
Qourra’s Mother: Just let her go and I'll give you the information you want.
Chief: You heard your mother. Get out of here!
Young Qourra: Mom! I’m scared!
Qourra’s Mom: It’s gonna be okay sweetie! Just get out of here quickly!
Young Qourra runs away in fear. The scene fades to white back to present day. Qourra sighs.
Qourra: But we were too late. When we got there, the man was gone. [Voice begins breaking.] And so was she.
Kano: Your mother was a brave woman.
Qourra: She was.
The scene later changes to Sonya looking around the city as she follows marks left Qourra. She then sees a free sample of cookies and takes a bite out of it. She then starts coughing as her face turns red. Human Korvo sees it and gasp.
Human Korvo: Sonya?
Sonya coughing as Human Korvo gasp sees her face turning red. Human Korvo then calls 911. Later at the hospital, Human Korvo and Human Terry are waiting for Sonya in concern.
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: What was in those cookies?
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: sighs Peanut butter. Sonya is allergic to peanuts. Jesse told me about months ago.
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: Damn. You didn’t put them in there did you?
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: Terry, I wasn’t baking at the farmer’s market.
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: Oh yeah.
Then, the doctor came in.
Doctor: Korey Solar-Opposites?
Human Korvo: Doctor, how is Sonya? Is she going to be OK?
Doctor: Don’t worry Korey. Sonya is feeling all better already. She’s gonna be okay.
Then, a woman with glasses and a purse came in.
Foster Care Agent: Please tell me Sonya’s alright.
Human Terry: She's going to be...
Human Korvo: She's going to be fine. The doctor says that she's going to be fine.
Foster Care Agent: You're lucky I haven't called the police.
Human Korvo: Foster care?
Foster Care Agent: I got home early and I see Sonya left without any supervision. She wasn’t supposed to do that. I called Sonya a hundred times about hours ago. She didn't answer. I flew out here, got off the plane, and I see all of this on the news.
Human Terry: Foster care?
Foster Care Agent: Is that all you can say for yourself is "Foster Care"?
Human Korvo: I... I am so confused. What do you mean Foster Care? Where are Somar and Lita?!
Foster Care Agent: I can assure you this is not confusing.
Human Terry: Wait a minute. Why is Sonya in foster care?!
Foster Care Agent: She didn't tell you, did she? Korey, Terry... Sonya’s parents were aborted back to their home country last week.
Human Korvo and Human Terry are distraught.
Human Korvo: Oh God… Sonya…
Human Korvo looks at Sonya, who is reading a book and sighs.
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: Poor Sonya.
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: Aw man. I wish there was something we could do Korv.
Human Korvo has an idea. He looks at his wedding ring and remembers something Terry always wanted.
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: What’s wrong honey!
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: Remember how we said we would adopt a kid someday?
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: Yes? Why?
Human Korvo smiles tearfully.
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: Terry, we should adopt Sonya.
Human Terry gasps.
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: R-really?
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: Yes! A billion times yes!
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: Oh Korvy!
The two human husbands then kiss as tears of joy burst in their eyes.
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: tearfully Oh Terry! I’m so happy!
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: tearfully Me too. Ooh, we should surprise our kids later. They would be happy over getting a new sister.
Human Korvo nods.
Human Korvo Solar-Opposites: Of course they will. And most of all, Sonya will finally have a new home. With us.
Human Terry Solar-Opposites: Oh Korvy. You really made our day. kisses Human Korvo on the cheek
The two husbands then head back to kissing as they moan lovingly.

Complete Safe Haven||Newt Imagine
Tumblr media
Note: I'm not that proud of this since I edited it about 6 times. I feel like it lacks something I can't really tell what it is, but here it is! Will definitely write a part two so we will see how everyone responds to it. I was listening to "That Would Be Enough" from Hamilton cause I think it tells a bit how Newt could be somewhat hesitant of the idea of having a baby after everything he has gone through and how unsure he can be of himself, you know? I don't know, that song inspired me a bit. Also, struggled a lot to think how the Safe Haven would be like after two years of them moving there so yep. Feedback and ideas are encouraged! <3
Tag: Tagging those who liked my posts that I was writing it since I said a few weeks ago it was going to be up and totally didn’t. @late-to-the-fandom-party @loverofmazeandthrones @gaymistakeboi @enixgucci @the-panwitch @expectroyalpurple @thepotatoes-havefallen @queenkitten695 @lovefelps @kurtzyoufunkylittledruggyprimary @smallsleepywriter @haiykuuia @sskeletonsoffun @thiccheerioss @demiwitchavenger7 @infinite-piper @sungjungelf @hanniejji @solovehasblindedyou @sleepysnapesnake @little-odd-dude @washing-machine-headcannons
The soft waves going against your body so early in the morning was your favorite feeling ever since you have gotten to the Safe Haven. The waves would just make you forget what had happened, cleared your head from any memory that was too painful, and those were mostly of that night. You still had nightmares, watching him turn into a Crank, his attacks, him hurting you unconsciously...You were lucky that things ended the way they did, but even then, you knew that those memories would always get to you. Arms rest on your shoulders making you jump, but relax under the knowing touch, rubbing your shoulder blades soothingly and you smile. "Hey."
"Morning, love" Newt's voice was still groggy, you guessed it hasn't been long since he woke up. "Why aren't you in bed?" He presses a kiss on your shoulder before his hands land on your waist, the soft waves rocking you both slightly.
"You kicked me out" you say playfully as you turn to him.
"What a terrible boyfriend I am," he says with a chuckle. "When was the last time you slept properly?"
It has been about two years since you have moved to the Safe Haven. The island was now covered in construction, buildings, and houses. Yesterday it was your four year anniversary, and Newt had planned a beautiful evening in what you were proud to call your new house, "First night home" he called it. After living in a small hut that reminded you of the Glade, now you had a bigger house, all for the two of you. You have been looking into The Last City, or what used to be, after Jorge took you and others back a few months ago, and you had the chance to gather a few technology items in a somewhat black market set in the city. The immunes that survived had built a city within the city, but no sign of what Wicked once was. You had seen people losing themselves to the Flare, so you started to play around with the idea of a cure again, using Thomas' blood and trying to figure out what made his blood different, without human trials and finding a way to help without draining him from his blood. You managed to do it with Newt. Vitals were missed when he attacked Thomas' back at the Last City and the serum was administered when he woke up on your way to this place. You took the serum and mixed it with some of Thomas' blood and applied a second dose, that one seemed to have done it. Unfortunately there wasn't enough serum for everyone back there and you had to find a way.
"I can't say" you admit with a smirk. "I need to keep working…" you say as he removes a strand of hair from your face.
"You look pale every morning, love" he points out.
"Maybe the late nights I'm working" but you knew better than that. Newt hasn't noticed, but you have been having morning sickness more often and feeling dizzy.
"Take a break" he kisses your forehead. "We have our new home, we have to enjoy it" he says and you smile. You had a slight idea of what could be going, but instead of raising hopes, you rather wait to get things confirmed.
Vince had brought a doctor who was the one to help you around the idea of a cure, as well as helped you learn a few things about medicine. She agreed to run a few tests while Newt was out with Thomas, Gally and Minho as they went to check an area for tonight to set a bonfire like back at the Glade, just a close group of friends, you have refused when they asked you to go and went to get the results at the medical hut instead.
"Hey" you greet the doctor after walking into the tent.
"Y/N," she greets as she turns around. "Couldn't wait I see?" She teases.
"I have barely slept" you admit with a nervous smirk. "Between this and thinking of ways to make the cure…"
"You shouldn't lose sleep over this" Elena, the doctor, says as she lifts a piece of paper causing your heartbeat to increase.
"Oh God…" you mutter.
"You ready?" She asks as she walks towards you and you nod. "You might not know much about medicine and all this, but you were right" she hands you the piece of paper, your eyes widening. "Congratulations."
For a moment every sound goes silent, it felt like everything around you stopped and so many feelings rushed in. How were you supposed to feel? How would Newt react? "I-"
Elena reaches you and places a hand on your shoulder, "Everything alright?"
"I don't know…" you say. "I never really thought about it...I mean, I did but now that it happened…"
"You are scared" she says and you nod your head slowly. "Don't be" she assures you. "If what you are scared of is Newt's reaction, I think he will be shocked at first, but he will grow to the idea of it. He loves you."
"I can't even think of a way to tell him…" you admit. "What about this place? I don't think it's completely baby proof."
"No place is baby proof. Certainly not during these times" she points out. "Doesn't mean everyone will stop having babies. You will have everyone's support I'm that sure. We will look into ways to get what you need as everything goes" somehow her words made your whole body relax.
You were away from Wicked, away from the Flare it seemed, but you never trusted that. The Flare could travel through air according to Ava, and Wicked could easily find you if they get as determined as they were, if there was anyone left that would go with such crazy trials. It didn't appear so, the times you have been into the Standing City you have not heard a word from Wicked or possible takers in the tasks. Everyone who survived the attack was just trying to get their lives before the Flare decided their faith, and any immune would just mind their business. Would there be anyone crazy enough to bring back what Wicked once was? Or something worse? Your mind was spinning around the idea. You didn't want your kid to be taken away and used for crazy experiments and trials, you knew that much. Not that you wouldn't do anything in your power to keep them safe from anything that happened.
You have gone back to your new house and went to lay back on the hammock to try to keep all your feelings in check and find a way to tell Newt the news. Will he be happy? Will he have the same thoughts of bringing a baby to the Safe Haven was a bad timing right now? It wasn't planned, but it wasn't not planned either. It was going to happen eventually. You two were careful, but after some time you two stopped, knowing the consequences but did it anyway. Was it maybe that you both have wanted this but never talked about it with the other? You knew you wanted a life with Newt, wanted everything with him, but what about him? Kids were not something you two have talked about before, because you two were now growing into the relationship and taking bigger steps, like the new house he had built up along with the guys for the two of you.
"Hey, love" Newt calls as he walks in and you turn around from your hammock.
"Hey" he leans in and you peck his lips once you sit up. "How was it?"
"Well, it's not the Glade," Newt says as he stares off blankly. "but it's big enough for a group of us. I don't think many people would get going in the middle of nowhere and set a bonfire and get drunk...or fight Gally" he chuckles and you join him.
"The latter is the one people won't get" you say and lean against him, your heart beating wildly as you thought of telling him.
"Probably" he says and wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you close. "I mean, getting wasted is kind of a thing to go for that one. I don't think that anyone right upstairs would fight Gally, except you when you kicked his ass" he adds. "I'm betting on you to do it again in front of everyone," he smirks.
"That was a good day" you agree and smirk. "Don't think I'll have the same luck now" he takes your hand and kisses your knuckles.
"Let's go get ready for tonight" he says and kisses your forehead before pulling you by your hand.
When you arrive at the bonfire, you see that even if not many have come, it was enough to make you remember your times at the Glade and you feel a knot growing on your throat, eyes watering. You remembered Chuck, Winston and Alby. Newt side eyes you and pulls you close, "I'm okay" you assure him.
"You don't have to be" he throws an arm around your shoulder and kisses the side of your temple. "I know what it feels like," he knew that this was giving you major flashbacks. "They wouldn't want us moping around though, so let's go have some fun" he takes your hand and makes you spin after he pulls away and you giggle, he pulls you close to him again and join the others.
Newt was with the boys while you sat with Harriet, Sonya and Brenda. They knew about your tests, so that was the topic.
"So? What did they say?" Sonya asks as she leans in.
"I bet it is what I said. Come on, I can't be the only one who thought about it as soon as she said how she was feeling" Brenda says with her hand extended to you.
"I don't know if I should tell you" you tease as you grin. "Or just say it at the bonfire...at some point" you say and look back at Newt who gives you a wink, making your cheeks flush.
"Oh come on, you are gonna make us wait?" Harriet says with a pout. "Please?" Her hand extends and you sigh, pulling out the piece of paper that read the results. You were carrying them around hoping to know when the time would be right.
The girls gather around Harriet, all of them smiling which only makes you grin wider when their eyes widen and the three look at you in cue. "Oh my God!" Sonya squeals before moving to you and hugging you.
"Just keep it a secret for a few, I haven't told him yet," you say and she pulls away.
"Right. Of course. Newt should be the first to know anyway" Sonya says as she pushes her hair back and tries to act normal. "I'm so happy for you guys! It's like everything starts getting normal around here."
"Life wise anyway" Brenda says as she looks at you. "How do you plan on telling him?"
"I'm not sure…" you admit. "but I have to do it soon. Gally is going to bring his moonshine any minute now and I can't find an excuse to neglect it" you point out and just in cue Gally walks to the clearing.
"Leave that up to me" Brenda says as she stands up and pats your shoulder before walking towards the boy. You eye her curiously and you smile at how nice Gally was around Brenda, not like he wasn't nice with the others, but he smiled and laughed quite often. Brenda puts her hand on his shoulder and you look at Sonya and Harriet.
"We are as clueless as you are" Harriet says and you laugh.
Time goes by and you are all eating and laughing. The groups have gotten together and now you were all closer to the bonfire. Gally was around handing over his moonshine and Brenda helped. After everyone had their drink, Brenda spoke, "I know we have done our own bonfires before," she begins, "but this one is different for some of us. To some this is a reminder of how we bonded" she looks at you and you look at Newt who smiles. "For others, it's a reminder that no matter what, we have fun with the people closest to us, our new family" she raises her glass. "For our family" she says and her eyes widen at you and you shake your head before you feel Sonya's hand shoving you slightly, so you stand, holding your own moonshine.
"For our family," your knees feel like giving up on you from how nervous you felt. "For the one that we found..." you trail off. Your heart was beating wildly against your chest, hearing the thuds in your ear. "And for the ones on the way" you say and place a hand on your stomach, your eyes glued to Newt whose eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Then, there was silence for a few seconds.
"No way!" Frypan is the first to get it, a huge smile on his lips, Minho eyes him like if he was crazy.
"Am I missing something here? Secret conversation?" You eye the girls and they are laughing at how clueless the boys were after Minho's words.
"Dude, come on! Y/N is going to have a baby!" Frypan pushes Minho before his smile fades for a moment and looks at you. "At least that's what I took as a hint…?"
You laugh nervously and you eye Newt whose mind seems to be lost in the maze, everyone is looking at you waiting for the confirmation. "Newt, we…" your words feel jumbled up, "You are going to be a dad" you say and everyone starts cheering around. Newt's eyes go wide open as he processes the information, everyone is patting his back and congratulating him but he was motionless. They come to you as well, and even if you are smiling and saying thanks, your eyes were glued to your boyfriend.
Everyone started to drink and cheer, except Newt who was looking down at his drink, your mood was slowly dropping, but you found some courage to walk to him after a few minutes. "You alright?" You ask as you sit next to him against a log.
Your voice breaks him out of his trance and he looks at you before nodding his head, "Yeah, just... wrapping my head around what you just said…"
"I know it's a lot to get around with...I still don't believe it…" you say.
"I should be more excited...and I am, trust me...but I can't help but think…"
"Newt, I know we never-"
"It's not that" he shakes his head and looks at you. "Not the slightest. I might not have said it, but after everything started to settle down, I started to think about us...our future" he says and takes your hand in his. "I thought so many things and you were always there, but…"
"But?" You were expecting the worst.
"Y/N, I don't have anything to offer to you, or the baby," you frown as you watch him play with your fingers. "Not now, anyway. This place is being built from scraps.."
"Newt, I don't know what you mean by that…" your free hand goes up to his hair, running your fingers through it.
"We have a home now, but... We are still getting used to this place, we don't have all the supplies, the equipment…"
"We do this as it goes, like Thomas does" you say to make him smile, which he chuckles at.
"I know" he continues to play with your fingers avoiding your gaze. You could tell he wasn’t at all convinced, so you tighten your fingers around his.
"Hey," you call. "Talk to me…" You try to meet his gaze, but it was dropped to your fingers.
"I-" he pauses. "I am happy, I don't want you to think I am not" he finally meets your eyes. "Having everything with you...Just makes this place way better" he smiles. "And having a little girl just like you" he cups your face with one hand and kisses your lips. "Who else can say they survived what we have and have a family" he says playfully and you grin. "But bringing our baby to this...place, this world…" he confesses, his fingers running nervously on his lips.
"Newt, I know…" you assure him.
"I don't want them to go through what we did, Y/N…" he admits. "I don't want them to live in a world where they could be chased for being healthy, or feel cursed because they are not immune to the Flare like I was."
"I'm just as scared and I will work on a cure now more than ever...but we can't start worrying like this…" you take his hand and place it on your stomach. "We will figure it out like we always do, together" he is looking at your stomach, his concerned features softening.
You can see his body relaxing, his thumb moving soothingly on its place on your stomach. "There is a little boy or girl growing right there and it's ours…"
"I know you'll do anything for them…" you assure him. You felt like Newt had to be reassured, and you could understand where he came from. He has overcome so much to get where he is now, from the dark places of his mind to what was now his new life. He was doubting himself, to not being able to provide your baby with the best, but what was that here in the Safe Haven? The simplest thing you had them already. You were all healthy, you had a home, food, friends...You still had time to get used to the idea and get adjusted at the thought that soon it was going to be more than just the two of you.
The Safe Haven has provided you with everything you needed for a basic life, and every now and then as you went to the remains of the city you tried to bring something that would help. Jorge and Brenda were working with technology along with some of the other Gladers from other groups. It was true, this place was being brought up by remains of what once was the Last City, but it was getting close to what you once imagined it would turn to.
"I love you, princess…" he pulls you in and gives you a kiss, the type he holds his breath and let's go of it softly through his nostrils, making it last. "I'm sorry for not acting like you probably wanted me to…"
"I get it. It's a lot to take in. I feel the same way" you admit. "I was so scared of what you would say" you pause. "But we have gone through so many things together that I don't think a baby will be the exception" you voice.
"It scares me to death to be quite honest" he says with a smirk. "I'm trying my best to be optimistic here, I am" he paused. "I'm happy to start a family with you, but just the thought of what could happen… This place is not ready for a baby…"
"I know...but we have time. We will know…" he is staring at you lovingly, smiling.
"Congratulations!" Thomas joins you with Frypan, sitting right besides you.
"Took you long enough" Minho says as he steps in.
In the deepest part of your head, you were somewhat disappointed that the boys seemed to be more excited about it then Newt. Yes, the blonde was scared of the what ifs and the possibilities and so were you, yet something told you that he wasn't very wrapped around the idea of it and his mind was only repeating the bad scenarios.
"Shut up, Minho" Newt says, but the boy only grins.
"I am going to have a little helping hand in the kitchen in a few months" Fry says.
"I could use the help patrolling" Thomas and Vince have established a guard in the island. Not like much happened, you knew everyone and they all went by the rules set, but it gave you the sense of feeling that if anything were to happen, you'd be ready.
"You are all doing bloody plans without the baby even being born" Newt says.
"Don't look at me I haven't said anything," Minho says. "It'd be nice if it has Y/N's genes though. No offense."
"Well that baby wasn't done just by me, Minho, so be ready" you say playfully.
"I don't need to know the whole thing so if you can skip the lesson" Minho says.
"Newt, you alright?" Thomas calls out and you look behind you at your boyfriend.
"Yeah, just, thinking…" you frown. "Just give me some time, that's all" he admits and smiles, placing his hand on your belly and looms up at you, something told you he will grow to the idea of it soon.
"So Y/N, can't drink with us now, so let's drink for her" Minho raises his cup and Fry cheers, shoving Newt playfully.
"To our baby, I guess" he says with a shrug.
"Our?" Minho questions.
"Not ours you slinthead" Newt reaches to try to smack the back of Minho's head playfully. "Ours" he looks down at you and you smile softly.
"It's the baby from our Glade anyway" Thomas says. "I'm happy for the two of you" he gives your arm a soft squeeze and you nod your head.
"So, when is it too soon to start thinking of names?" Fry asks and the boys look at you.
"How the hell should I bloody know?" Newt asks after sipping on his cup making the boys chuckle.
Thomas eyes you as the guys talk to each other, and his eyebrows furrow in question. You shake your head and do a small wave with your hand to tell him that you will talk to him later. If someone could help you understand what was going through Newt's mind was Thomas, or Minho, but mostly Thomas. Newt seems to trust him more for a few things.
Now it was a matter to wait and see how things went. At least it was out there that you were expecting, and Newt knew. Thing now was, how everything was going to start working after these news…

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were now back together for good. Our pain to be inside those cells awaiting to be brainwashed again by the Perseus Collective and lamenting ourselves about our fates were finally over despite the hard moments we had to face to escape this hell. I managed to survive that Bell and I was able to feel Park's presence near me in days....we did it but our fight against Perseus is very far from over and now, because of our state and the conditions we've been facing, the others preferred to send us back to England....my new home I can say....yeah, England is my home now, we're going home....
Me & Park spent the rest of the day to relax, not forgetting to tell her everything that happened to me in those 2 weeks & she also did, explaining that she was suffering the same fate as me : been kept for some tests with Adler that apparently did have the same results as the one I did with him but when I cracked up under the pressure, she told me that they were starting to hurt her an little, to make her face the pain she faced back in North Korea before they decided to make the drugs tests on her until me & Sonya liberated her...she was able to keep faith...
Now, the next day in the evening, the 17th of June was the day of our departure from Verdansk and of course, we were both able to find back our old stuff we couldn't take to our mission in the Yamantau, putting my hands again on my diary that I haven't write for days now and to me, I even had to look back at everything in it to make sure that it wasn't vandalized by someone here and hopefully, it was all clean.
"Already preparing your bags ?" That was Woods asking to us as he was seeing me & Park at our respectives desk in the safehouse that was empty today with only me, Park, Woods & Sims present here as Wolf & Song were gone for the day in Verdansk.
"As you said, the plane that will take us can arrive at any moment." I was the one to reply to him after I finished to pack up my bag, keeping my diary near by out of it. "So, we prefer to be directly ready once it arrived." I added.
"Yeah but you're looking an bit overexcited to leave the place." He stated with an raised eyebrow.
"Why we can't be ?" Park spoke up in an half-funny tone, moving to help her as we were told, drugs were still inside our systems and I was sometimes afraid for her with that fact. "It's better for us to return to London than...be here." She continued, rolling her eyes around the main room.
"I'm joining you in that part to be somewhere else than here." He revealed to us, making me laugh as in the room, he was the person that spend the most time here.
"At least, we're leaving." I exclaimed, helping Park with an part of her stuff.
"With what happened, it was sure that the MI6 wasn't going to let you here but you both know that you will one day come back to work with us." He said, crossing his arms.
"We know." Me & Park both whispered in unison, knowing well that our fight with Perseus isn't done.
"Hey, just saying." Woods was thinking that we weren't happy about it, gesturing that it wasn't his fault before he saw our smiles on our faces when we saw him like that.
"I just wonder of something, Woods." I started after I was finished to help Park with her bag as I moved to reach my diary, an question. "Is anyone has tried to put their hands on my diary ?" I demanded from him, showing my diary to him.
"You better answer, Woods." Park adviced, an grin on her face as she was sitting back on her chair.
"No, not at all." He responded, sounding very sure of his words but for me, he was hiding something.
"Woods." I muttered, still holding the diary.
"What ?" He breathed, confused.
"Tell me the truth : did anyone of you read my book ?" I repeated my question, putting an threatening tone to my voice to him. If I had to put an scare in him if I can, so be it !
"Yirina, like I told you, no one read your book." He affirmed again, making the same gesture like before and he was sounding good enough to convince me to resign myself. "I was the one to avoid the others to do it, you know how Wolf was when he saw you with it." He make me remember that moment in the plane and hopefully, I was pleased that Woods was the one to be 'the protector'.
"It's all I wanted to hear, thanks !" I expressed my gratitude to him before I moved back to put my diary back in my bag along with Lazar's one and seeing it along mine...it was making something to me..."If only he was still here..." I talked to myself in an very low voice about Laz'....Park noticing me but staying silent about it.
"I don't know how much time you will be out but it's sure that you will come back." Woods told us again about it, looking at the wide opened main door leading to the outside. "We'll try to keep you updating about the situation and see if the MI6 can help us from afar." He continued, removing himself from the desk he was leaned on.
"We'll see how it goes." I commented about it before fully closing my bag, my eyes looking at Park and smiling at her, reciprocated by her. "You're alright ?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm just impatient to be on that plane." She replied in an low voice, seeing her face almost white.
"Go take some water, you're looking pale." I suggested to her and she quickly nodded and by luck, there were just an bottle of water on the desk near by, causing her to take it and drink it entirely. "Not so fast."
"I'm good, Yiri, don't worry." She reassured me despite the low voice she was still having.
"With drugs in your systems, it wasn't the best idea to keep you here." Woods exclaimed, true in his words, I was maybe more resistant to the drugs even if there were some moments I could feel bad but it was dangerous to stay here. "And now, you all going back to London."
"I guess we missed home." I smiled an bit to him about that.
"I think that you will happy to find back your friend, 'Zed' and their girlfriend, Portnova." He confided to me as I was taking my bag in hands.
"I know, I...." I was going to continue to speak until I stopped myself, troubled by an little thing from him. "Wait....how did you know that Portnova was their girlfriend ?" I asked him as it was something I never mentioned.
"Well, you told me that." He responded, seeing an little drop of sweat on his face.
"Woods, Yirina never spoke about it at all." Park spoke up, taking my defence as both of us were realizing that Woods wasn't 'the protector' of my book because he read it.
"You read my book !" I raised an eyebrow, sending him an deadly glare as I was ready to move towards him, mixed between be angry & joking.
"Listen, I can...."
"The reinforcements has arrived !" We all heard Sims voice, cutting Woods in his words,  coming inside the main room through the main entrance as we could hear noises from an incoming plane arriving near by. "Did I....step in the wrong moment ?" He questioned us, seeing me & Woods.
"Not at all." I replied to him with an grin, going back to normal.
"Good, you should be coming then." Sims ordered, going back outside as Woods was quickly following him to avoid my angriness to hit him.
As our presence here was ending, it was time to take our bags and leave that safehouse maybe for forever. To avoid Park to be bad at any moment because of her state, I volunteered to take her bag in my hands, now holding hers & mine as we both go out of the safehouse, staying near her at any occasions as we could observe an small private jet plane landing on the runway...I wonder how the CIA is managing an runway without been discovered by the soviets in here.
Now, we were with Woods & Sims awaiting to see the persons that will replace me & Park here but I was surprised when it was only one person coming out of the plane with an bag in their hands : it was an woman with black hair that was almost looking like Park and Woods was the first one to greet her as she was getting out of the plane to put her feets on the ground.
"Hello, miss Petrov, welcome to Verdansk." He saluted her, sounding nice as he was offering his hand.
"Oh, you must be the famous Sergeant Woods." The woman said in an lovely voice to him before she moved her hand to shake it with him. "I'm Liliya Petrov, you can call me Liliya." She presented herself clearly to him.
"Uhm..." Woods was looking to blush on his face....that was an first...."Liliya, this is Yirina Grigoriev & Helen Park from the MI6." He gestured to us as we moved to shake hands, me having to put the bags down to do that. "They're the persons you're replacing as an cryptographer."
"I heard an lot about you two, to be honest." Liliya said to us in an good voice, meaning that everything was rather nice than bad...at least, that what I hope. "I'm glad to meet you."
"Us too." Park spoke for me & herself and we were sharing the same feeling about her.
"I heard that you were one of the best cryptographer in the CIA, is that right ?" I demanded as I was just curious about it.
"I don't want to say that I'm the best, I'm just doing my part of the work." She responded honestly and it was enought for me to be convinced by her good side. "And I hope that I will continue to be doing that." She added before turning around to look at Woods. "And I'm very happy to be working with you, sergeant."
"Please, call me Woods." He told her in an voice that was sounding stunned by her.
"Or Frank if...well, I'm thinking too far." She thought before she shook an little her head, taking back the bag she left on the ground.
"Sims, you can show her desk, I'll be coming soon to do the rest." He ordered to Sims, trying to look away, seeing the blush on his face as Sims was moving with Liliya to get inside the safehouse, leaving me, Park & Woods near the plane that will take us away.
"Is there love in sight for the famous Sergeant Woods ?" I scoffed about that as I never thought to see Woods blush in my entire life.
"Oh, damn you, Yirina." He said, urging to make me an middle finger, still blushing.
"Remember that you read my book as I forbidden it, so get lucky that you're not the one to be damned." I attacked him back on the subject with an clear voice before I offered my hand to him. "Guess it's time for us to leave now." I said, now ready to leave the USSR.
"Yeah, I hope you will be recovering fine during your vacation." He told us as he moved to shake hands with Park in an slower way before he let us to get inside the plane. "Goodbye, enjoy your moments." He added as we were getting inside the plane.
Park was the first one to get inside, staying behind her with the bags in my hands as we both installed at the first seats we could see, facing each other and putting our bags away as the plane was starting to take off but like I thought, Park wasn't feeling so well and it was better that she was going into sleep now for the whole flight back to England, surely arriving back in the early morning next day. She was quickly to sleep after I handed over an nice blanket to her and me...I wasn't sleeping.
There were an thought in me, urging to...take an look at Lazar's diary in my bag and for the first minutes of the flight over the USSR, I was resisting the urge until I resigned myself to take it in my bag but as I wanted, I will only read one single page of it as I didn't want to give myself too much pain by reading what Lazar wrote on it.
---------------------------------------------------
Eleazar 'Lazar' Azoulay
First entry :
1st June 1976
After an long time, I was finally given the right to be an full operative on the field by the Mossad and as thoughts were given to me, I decided to write on my own in this diary even if I don't know if I could really write an lot due to the missions I will be given in an short time but I can start by presenting myself, why not ?
I was born in Washington D.C, the 25th of October 1948 but I only lived two years in the US before my father moved the family in Israel after he accepted an job at Tel Aviv. My life went pretty basic except the part where I was exceding in every domain in sports.
I moved in London to make my studies, gaining at that time the perfect nickname of 'Lazar' that I prefer before I became an member of the Israeli Defences Forces and then, some years later, the Mossad recruited me as an explosives expert but also because of my skills in the field.
With that new role in my life, it's time to do something right !
----------------------------------------------
Right in front of my eyes was the handwriting of Lazar himself, giving me details about an part of his life and I wanted to read more but it was at this moment that I saw that some pages were removed from the diary as the next page I could see was talking about something years later and by that, I was an bit disgusted to witnessing the missing page and because of it, I put the diary back in my bag, not wanting to read it for an long time before going back to my seat....only wanting now to go to sleep....
When I opened my eyes, I was leaned against the wall of an room that was looking like an interrogation room but I wasn't the captive but one of the captors with Freya herself as we were keeping an man, tied up to an chair by his legs & only his left arm free and by looking at it, he was badly hurt, his shirt almost fully blooded, his face messed up along with his hair while Freya was in front of him at the other side of the table between the two.
On that table, there were an map of an region and as I could see from where I was, it was in Afghanistan...Afghanistan....1980...That map was something of interest as Freya was trying to have something from interest as Freya's hands were tapping on that map multiples times, we were trying to find something from him and I wasn't willing to raise my hands on the man but Freya was the one to do that, seeing the bloods on her fingers.
"Are you going to speak or what ?" Freya asked him furiously, slamming her hands again on the table. "Tell us where are the mujahideens are hiding in those mountains !" She clarified her question to him but he wasn't speaking.
"I don't know." The man replied but that wasn't enough for Freya who punched him hard in the face. "Please, let me go, please." He pleaded after the punch, almost crying.
"Listen..." I started, deciding to step in the interrogation. "Do you have family, sir ?" I demanded to him in an curious tone as Freya moved aside to let me get in front of him.
"Yes...two boys...and an little girl." He responded to me, looking at me scared.
"Do you see this place on the map ?" I pointed to him, an place on the map that was an small village near some mountains and he nodded. "This village is starving to death and the soviets are planning to move to give resources to the people." I added, staying serious. "But the mujahideens want to attack the soviets and loot anything from them, including the resources."
"I...." He was in an loss of words when I was speaking.
"This village is full of children, of innocent people and they are dying because of the mujahideen presence and if they succeed in their attack, the village will not survive." I make myself clear to him, moving my hands away from the map. "So, please, tell us where they are hiding, you could save an lot of lives and...by tonight, you could be back with your childs." I said, speaking the truth here.
"There ! They're hiding there !" He whispered, moving his only free arm towards an position on the map, an few mountains away from the village I pointed to him before I pull out an pen to make an circle of where he was showing me the location.
"Good, thank you, sir." I thanked him in an good voice, putting my pen back in my pocket and then, also the map. "You saved an lot of innocents today and we will let you go back to your family." I added, turning my back around to get the map back into my jacket.
"Wait, no..." I heard him say loudly until the sound of an pistol echoed in the room and when I looked around, jumpscared, the man was now having an bullet in the head...Freya...aiming her pistol to him.
"What the fuck was that ?" I yelled against her, angry about what she did. "He gave us the intel, why did you do this ?" I demanded furiously.
"No loose ends, didn't you hear Perseus ?" She asked me back normally as she was putting her pistol back in its holstler. "We couldn't let this man talk freely about us." She continued, turning around to look at me. "This is our job, Yirina."
"No, I didn't agree on killing innocents and you too !" I shouted to her, trying to put the good senses in her.
"No one is fucking innocent in this world." She exclaimed in an angry voice, moving to face me as my eyes drifted for an few seconds on the dead man. "This is how Perseus think."
"Not me and you too, what happened ?" I told her as she put her hands on my arm.
"I'm perfectly fine, Yirina." She replied with an grin that I couldn't make back on my face after what she did. "I'm doing this for the good of us, our own good, remember your proposal to me." She whispered, putting her hand on my cheek as I was looking down.
"I don't know." I muttered.
"We could talk to Perseus about an wedding, you know." She proposed like that, like if she was completely forgetting what she did before she moved to make an kiss on my lips.
"You changed, Freya, you changed !" I proclaimed, removing her hands off my face in an gentle way.
"No, I never changed, it isn't me who changed." She claimed, surely thinking about me as she start to move away from me. "The cleaners will took his body away, come." She suggested, arriving to open the main door of the room as I was still standing at my position, still shocked like if I could feel his blood on my hands....
"Come on, Yiri, it's time for us to be going home !"

Chapter Thirteen
Tumblr media
Newt and I worked together to torch the door to the compartment open. Thomas was the first to push threw the door. Newt and I were quick to follow behind him. Harriet was close behind me.
"Aris" Thomas whispered then moved to a seat near the front.
"Hey, you guys okay?" Thomas questioned.
I stepped up behind Newt so I could see both Aris and Sonya sitting there chained to their seats.
"We're fine" Sonya nodded.
Thomas slowly continued towards that back. We all looked around at each of the faces hoping to find one in particular.
"It's okay, you guys are safe. Just hang on some more." Thomas said softly as he walked towards the back of the compartment.
"We need the bolt cutters." I heard Harriet say behind me.
Thomas stopped when he reached the back wall then slowly turned to face me and Newt.
"He's not here," Thomas said in disbelief.
"Shit" I whispered.
Newt and Thomas made their way out of the compartment while I stayed inside to help Harriet cut open all the chains. Once the kids were all free Harriet and two others led them outside to meet with Vince. I caught up with Thomas.
"What now?" I asked him quietly as we both watched the kids pass us by.
"I have no idea." He sighed.
"We'll figure something out," I whispered.
"Come on in you guys!" I heard Vince shout from around the corner.
Thomas and I stepped to the corner of the building so we could watch Vince speak to the new arrivals.
"Alright guys, listen up. I know you've all been threw hell. I wish I could say our troubles are over. We're not threw this yet. WCKD is still out there. They're not giving up. You got something they want. They took you because you're immune to a plague that's wiping out the human race. They think you're worth sacrificing to find a cure. Well, I don't." Vince spoke like the true leader he was.
The kids in front of him cheered and applauded.
"So in two days when we get this tub of rust seaworthy, we're gonna go to a place where WCKD will never find you. A place you can start over. A place you can call home." Vince continued.
Thomas turned away to head back up the path. I took one last look at Vince then quickly followed behind my brother. We walked between two of the old buildings. Thomas slowed for a moment as he caught sight of Brenda and Jorge then continued on. We walked into a room where Newt, Harriet, Aris, And Sonya were sitting. Sonya was attempting to clean the dry blood from Aris' face.
"Here drink this" Harriet said handing two cups to Sonya and Aris.
Thomas and I joined Newt to sit across from the two we'd just rescued. Fry was standing behind me. Aris took a slow sip of his drink then turned to look at Thomas.
"Took you guys long enough to rescue us," Aris said with a smile.
"It's good to see you too bud." Thomas chuckled.
"So what happened?" Thomas asked gesturing to Aris' face.
"I fought back. Tried to anyway." Aris shrugged.
"You're lucky you found us at all. They had us on the move a lot. I feel like something big was happening." Sonya said.
"Any idea where they were heading?" Newt asked them.
"All I know is they kept talking about a city," Aris said.
"I didn't think there were any cities left," Harriet said glancing at me.
"That's because there aren't. Not still standing anyway." Brenda said from behind us.
I hadn't even realized she followed us in here.
"Okay, wait, what about Minho? Why wasn't he on the train?" Thomas asked Aris.
Aris and Sonya shared a look of sadness and fear before turning back to us.
"I'm sorry Thomas. He was." Aris said slowly.
Thomas was immediately in a hurried frenzy as he dug threw some of the boxes of our supplies. He had gathered a small group of us in one of the makeshift storerooms. I stood between Newt and Fry as we watched Thomas searching for something. Vince, Jorge, and Brenda stood on the other side of the table watching Thomas as well. A few minutes passed when Thomas finally pulled something out of a box. He turned around slamming it down on the table. We all stepped closer to see an old discolored map. One area on it was circled. Thomas pointed to the circle.
"There that's it," Thomas said.
He smoothed out the map so we could all see it better.
"It's a few hundred miles. Based on the railways and everything that Aris told us that's gotta be where they're heading. That's where they're taking Minho. We take everyone that can fight. Follow the roads where we can. We can make it back in around a week." Thomas explained.
"A week? It took us six months to get here. We've got over a hundred kids here now. We can't just hang out here forever. After what we just pulled? You wanna wander off to some random point on the map? You don't even know what's there." Vince said sternly.
"I do," Jorge spoke up.
Everyone in the room turned to look at him.
"It's been a few years but I've been there. The last city. That's what WCKD called it." Jorge continued as he walked closer to the table.
"It was their home base of operations. If that city is still standing that's the last place you wanna go Hermano. That's the lion's den." Jorge said pointing at the map.
"It's nothing we haven't done before," Thomas said simply.
"Yea, with months of planning, reliable information, and the element of surprise. None of which we have now." Vince informed Thomas.
"Vince, I've thought this threw can you just hear me out?" Thomas asked quickly.
Vince raised his voice finally losing his cool with Thomas.
"Hey! The last time we went off half-cocked I lost everything! You remember that?" Vince shouted in Thomas' face.
Vince sighed then took a deep breath before continuing.
"Look, I know it's Minho. Alright? But you can't ask me to put those kids on the line for one man. I won't do it." Vince said in a calmer voice but he was still stern.
Vince and Thomas stared at each other. I glanced back at Fry who had been silently standing behind me. He gave me a knowing look. I had a feeling he knew what Thomas was going to do just like I did. The radio sitting against the wall started to crackle as distorted voices tried to speak threw it. The words were chopped here and there but we all knew what it meant.
"Shit. Get the lights." Thomas said quickly.
Every one of us scrambled to get where we needed to be. Jorge was quick to pull the lever and cut the power. Fry and I ran to the other side of the building to check everything had went out. Our whole base was now dark as the sound of aircrafts could be heard in the distance.
"They can't be that close," I whispered as Fry and I listened to the distant sounds.
I walked away from him to go outside where I found Thomas standing alone. I went over to him then turned to look in the direction he was. The aircrafts were searching the mountains in the distance. They really were getting close to us.
"You alright?" I asked Thomas.
"Fine," he said simply then walked away from me.
I knew immediately that he wasn't fine. I knew he was going to try to run off to that city even if he had to do it alone but he wasn't going to go alone. I wouldn't let that happen. I ran back inside to find Newt and Fry. They were both trying to gather things up in the dark.
"Boys, you know what we gotta do right?" I asked them.
Both boys stopped to look at me. They both held up a bag as they smiled.
"Already on it love," Newt said.
After we packed everything we needed into the bags the three of us silently went off to where the jeeps were parked.
"You two go ahead and get in. I'll wait for Tommy." Newt said as he went to lean against a table.
Fry and I climbed into the jeep. Fry took the driver seat while I climbed into the passenger seat. We sat in darkness waiting for my brother to try to sneak off by himself.
“You really up for this?” Fry asked me quietly.
“Of course I am. He’s my brother. I’m not gonna let him do anything this stupid by himself.” I chuckled softly.
“Not gonna lie I’m a little terrified but you’re right. I can’t let him, you, or Newt do this without me.” He said softly.
He grabbed the wheel then tightened his hands around it until his knuckles were white. I reached over then pulled one of his hands off the wheel. He looked at me as I wrapped both my hands around his. He gave me a small smile then seemed to relax in his seat. It wasn't long until we heard the footsteps coming up the stairs.
"Where do you think you're going then?" Newt asked through the darkness.
Thomas stopped in his tracks. Newt turned on the lamp that was on the table next to him.
"Newt" Thomas said quietly.
"Don't be a twat about it. I'm already in. Come on." Newt said as he took the bag from Thomas.
Newt walked over to the jeep then opened the back door to toss in the bags.
"No, no, not this time. Look, even if we find Minho there's no guarantee we'll make it back from this." Thomas told Newt.
Newt chuckled softly as he leaned against the jeep.
"Right, then you need all the help you can get," Newt said.
He turned then pulled open the front driver door. Fry leaned forward against the steering wheel as I leaned over his back so Thomas could see me. Thomas smiled but scoffed.
"Well, we started this together. May as well end it that way too." Newt told him.
"Okay, let's go get him back," Thomas said with a small smile.
I jumped into the back seat with Newt as Thomas took my spot. Fry pulled out slowly trying to make as little noise as he could.

I don't want to keep going if it's not with you~
So basically I had this idea for a one shot and I thought, why not share it? I don't know if you'll like it but I had fun imagining and writing it so here you go !
Tw self-harm/ suicidal thoughts
>angst with a happy ending
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: The Doctor finally come back to Sheffield after escaping the Judoon prison. It has been six hard months for Yaz, will the Doctor be too late to save her favorite companion ?
(angst with a happy ending, cause I'm a sucker for a happy ending)
It had been six months, six months that the Doctor sent them back to earth. Forced to go back for their own safety. Yaz knew that, Graham and Ryan told her enough. She knew the Doctor just wanted to protect them. The boys had understood it and accepted it and if at first it was hard to go back to normal life, after a month or so they seemed to be okay. They were still missing their amazing alien friend of course but they had moved on. Graham had started seeing other friends more often and Ryan started dating Sonya.
The only one who hadn't moved on - who didn't want to - was Yaz. She had tried at first, truly tried. She went out with some friends, got a promotion at work and even tried having a date with someone but it didn't work out. Truth was Yaz was not accepting this situation, she couldn't forget the Doctor and the life she had with her, she couldn't imagine that the Doctor really died that day on Gallifrey. She had constantly this hope of hearing the engines' noise of her favorite spaceship, of seeing a blue box parked in front of her flat. She dreamt countless time of the Doctor coming back and each time waking up was awfully painful. The harsh reality was painful.
As weeks passed she slept less and less at night, not wanting to see the familiar face of the blond in her dreams. She focused on her job to forget how she hated being stuck on earth, not knowing if the Doctor was still out there or not. Her family did see at first that Yaz wasn't well but soon she learnt to hide the bags under her eyes and the trace of a night spent crying silently under her makeup . She began to live in a lie, putting a great amount of effort to hide how broken she was.
One night worst than the others, she cut herself on her right wrist to ease her pain. She hadn't done that since highschool but right here and right now she felt relief in the pain. So she did it again and again, taking care to hide it well too. Yaz knew she couldn't keep up like that, she needed help but who could understand her ? They would force her to stop if they found out. Yaz didn't want to stop, this was the only thing helping her to cope.
Graham was in his room when he heard the familiar sound of the TARDIS in his living room. It had been so long that he first thought that he dreamt it but when he saw the blond coming out of the blue box he realised all this was real. The Doctor was there, smiling shyly at him. She looked skinnier than the last time he'd seen her, her hair had grown too. She seemed fine though a bit tired.
'Hey' said the woman timidly
For only response she received a hug from the old man.
'I thought we'd never see ya again doc !'
She froze for a moment she'd forgot what it was to feel someone against you. It was soothing, reassuring.
'Are you okay ?? What happened !'
'Long story but I'm fine had a little nap of 2 or 3 days in the TARDIS and a good meal.' her smile grew wider as she felt more comfortable. 'Where are the others ? How much time as it been ? I hope they are okay, how is Yaz ?'
Graham smiled at all those questions, he'd really missed this crazy woman.
'Six months only' he said but could see the worries on the Doctor's face. 'Ryan is fine, Yaz is... Coping in her own way, I haven't heard a lot from her recently'
The Doctor could remember like it was yesterday the girl's face when she left her. It had broken her hearts but she had to leave, she had to save her fam even if that meant dying for it.
The sound of a door opening interrupted the duo.
'Grandad we have to go, Sonya just-' he stopped abruptly when he saw the Doctor. 'Oh my god, no way !'
'Hi Ryan' said the Doctor amused by Ryan's surprise. The boy instantly gave the woman a big hug just as did Graham a few minutes before.
'I'm so happy your alive doctor !'
'Glad to see you too.' she answer truly happy. 'Yaz isn't with ya ? I missed her, I'd love to see her'
Ryan's smile disappeared as he suddenly remembered why he was here.
'Sonya just called me, Yaz is in the hospital...'
'What ? What happened son ?!'
'Apparently she collapsed while on duty and was very pale so they decided to call an ambulance.'
A few minutes later all three of them where in the hall of the hospital. Nadja was there too, she'd just finished her conversation with a doctor.
'Nadja !' called Graham.
The woman turn to them and was very surprised to discover the Doctor by the boys' side. She wanted to ask her where she was during all those months but right now she was more preoccupied by what she had learnt from her daughter's doctor.
'Is she okay ?' asked Ryan.
'They said she collapsed because she was weak and tired, I knew she wasn't sleeping well but I never imagined it was so serious...'
'She going to be okay...' tried to reassure Graham
'That's not... That's not all. She also has marks on her wrists and thighs. How could I not see them ? He said judging from the cuts that she had been doing that to herself for a few weeks now.'
The Doctor felt a rush of culpability and sadness, Yaz's state was her fault and she knew it. She had hoped the girl would move on from her, build her life but it appeared to be quite the contrary. Yaz's was drowning, what would have happened if she didn't come back ?
'We saw nothing either Nadja but we're gonna help her now, everything will be alright' said Graham.
'Can we see her ?' ask the Doctor, she felt the urge to see the brunette with her own eyes and be with her.
'She's sleeping, the doctor said we can visit her tomorrow.'
The Doctor wanted to insist but knew it was useless, she would have to wait and she hated that. Her brilliant, amazing Yaz in such a poor shape because of her. The blond hated herself for not escaping sooner. Yaz kept her alive and gave her a motivation to get out when she was in the judoon prison, now she needed to save and protect her.
The boys went home for the night, the Doctor parked her TARDIS in a street nearby the hospital ready in the morning to run back and find the girl she had dreamt of for months. It was around 1 am when she received a call from Nadja.
'Doctor I need your help ! It's Yaz, she ran away from the hospital, no one knows where she is !'
The Doctor didn't wait a second, she ran a scan of the area for trace of artron energy. Yes it had been six months since Yaz had travelled in a time machine but she should still have some trace left on her. Indeed she found out that the girl was only a few box away from the TARDIS position. The blond stormed out of her ship and ran as fast as she could.
She finally saw the brunette, she was in the middle of an empty street only wearing her hospital gown. She seemed lost and scared like a little girl, looking frantically around her like something was chasing her.
'Go on kill me you stupid machines !' she yelled.
The Doctor wasn't sure who the girl meant by machines but decide to slowly come closer, hands up to show she wasn't a threat.
'Yaz.' the girl froze
'No... No it can't be... It can't be you !' the brunette wasn't trusting her own eyes. If the Doctor was her it must meant that she was dreaming. The blond took a new step toward her.
'Hey Yaz, it's okay I promise..'
Yaz took a step back.
'No ! You said that the last time, but you disappeared, you left me like you always do ! I wake up and you're not here' she said now sobbing.
This broke the Doctor's hearts.
'Oh Yaz, my beautiful Yasmin Khan, what did I do to you.'
'The Cybermen I heard them, they are coming.'
'What do you mean ? Is that why you ran from the hospital ?' the Doctor asked taking her sonic to scan the area. No trace of any alien species. No Cybermen. 'Yaz it's okay, what you heard must of been some machines in other rooms next to yours. You're safe I swear.'
'How are you really here... You're DEAD ! You're-You're...' she cried harder falling on knees. She was exhausted, body trembling in this cold night.
The blond came closer and fell next to Yaz and she noticed the bandages around the girl's wrists. She was so angry at herself for letting that happen. She pulled Yaz in a tight hug.
'I'm so sorry Yaz, so sorry. I'm real I promise. I'll be here tomorrow when you'll wake up, I want to be by your side and never leave you again.'
This felt real thought Yaz, she wanted to believe this was real. Tomorrow she'd be sad again but for now she just enjoyed the warm embrace.
The Doctor took out her coat and put it on Yaz shoulders, she also noticed the girl was barefoot and decided to scoop her in her arms.
'It's okay now...' whispered the Doctor.
'I miss you so much... I love you Doctor.' the brunette whispered back before falling unconscious.
Yaz woke up the next morning in her hospital room. The first thing she felt was sadness as she opened her eyes to see the bedside empty. That's why she didn't like to sleep but before her thoughts could go farther she heard a familiar voice.
'Hey you...'
The brunette turn her head and saw the Doctor.
'So it was real...' she said softly, genuinely smiling for the first time in months.
'Pretty much yeah...'
'You've come back, you're here.' the girl stroke the Doctor cheek gently like to make sure the woman wasn't an illusion.
'I'm here Yaz and I love you too.' said the Doctor gently but serious.
Yaz's smile grew wider and she did what she didn't that day in the TARDIS just before the blond left her and the other humans. Yaz leaned forward and kissed the Doctor.
They didn't hear Graham, Nadja and Ryan enter the room.
'Seems like things should alright for those two now' said Graham glad and relieved.
The End

'Old wounds' : New chapter for "Redemption in a Spirit in a Cold War" is out !
"Old wounds"
Tumblr media
"I came back for you....I had to do it because you're the one I owe my life !"
Chapter Summary : It's time for Yirina, Park, Zasha, Garrett & Price to get things done with Stone for good but the old complex in Cuba is going to open some bad wounds.....
To read it on AO3, click here !
Words : +3800
------------------------------------------------------------------
It was it....tonight is going to be the night where Stone's life is going to end for real, he will have no chance to escape and we can't allow him to do that, everything we have done for the past two weeks against him....it will be tonight that everything will be decided and for everyone....me, Park, Zasha, Garrett, Price and his SAS men, letting Stone live another day wasn't an option at all, Stone is going to die but....during all this operation, I will have to face something else : the fact that we're going to fight to the same place where Lazar died, it will be an big struggle that I'm going to do.
And that fight inside of me was starting right after we got off the meeting point to join the complex, travelling to it by walk through the jungle. As we said, me, Park, Zasha, Price & some his mens were coming us while Garrett was taking another direction with the other SAS soldiers. Us were going to infiltrate the complex by the same way we used three years ago by the north while the others will take the attack by the south, let's hope it will not end in an disaster, it's the only thing I want.
After long minutes of walk inside the jungle, taking care of looking around us to check for any traps, we arrived near the complex, the same point that we used to wait last time with Park & Lazar that was in an abandoned building and by luck, nothing has pretty changed in here, including the old point of view that was allowing us to get an closer look on the main target : the abandoned hotel where Stone was obligated to hide.
"This place is looking like an fortress !" Price exclaimed as he was overlooking the hotel with his binoculars, he was right about, the place was even more protected than the last time with more sandbags and mounted MGs around the place. "This bastard isn't going to give up easily." He added, removing his binoculars from his eyes to look at us.
"Stone was aware that we were on him since weeks so he found himself means to defend his life." I said, remembering the conversation he got with Sonya Kuzmin in that phonebooth in West-Berlin an week ago, he knew of it. "I'm even sure that he's probably waiting for us to come."
"Maybe but we can't back down and we will not do this." Park affirmed, crossing her arms towards me, biting her left part of her bottom lips. "I'm not going to let Stone breath in the morning." She continued, taking an look on her MP5 at her feets.
"No one want this, Helen." Price told her, his binoculars in hands, having turned himself to look at her fully. "SAS wasn't going to let an rogue element continue to make our name dirty." He breathed as he was seeing Park's face trying to keep straight. "We're doing this for you, for William."
"William ?" Zasha stepped in, curious to hear that and frankly, I wouldn't want them to ask about this because it was an hot topic to talk about.
"It's...was Park's brother, an man I have in command, Smirnov." Price replied, not sure of telling them this as he was still looking to Park.
"Zed." I whispered, putting my left hand on their shoulder slowly.  "You don't need to know about this." I said discreetly to them.
"I....I....okay." They expressed, understanding that talking about this was not an good idea, especially right now moments before we could actually act. "Do we go in force or in an discreet way ?" They asked, looking at Price.
"In force." Park was the one to respond to them, scratching the back of her head, looking at the hotel. "Even if we're making this in silence, Stone could know that we're here, it's better that we're showing him directly that."
"Stone was one of us and he know exactly how we're working so by going in force, he will be confused as going like that isn't the SAS style." Price proclaimed, his eyes on Zasha before he took his binoculars again to check the place up. "My men know exactly how it's going to work, sometimes we have to go off-grid to get things done."
"Get our hands dirty to keep the world clean...." I breathed as it was like the main thing that was highlighting the world of spies and black ops and everyone in here knows about it. "It's been like that everyday." I added to my statement as I look to my glovesless left hand, observing the burn mark that I had since years.
"How did this happened ?" Price asked, having seen my hand like that.
"That ?" I showed to him slowly my hand "I don't know...my memories never told me why I have this." I answered before I look at Zasha. "Do you know something about this ?"
"Uhm....no, you were never willing to talk about this to me or anyone else." Zasha shook their head as I hoped to have an answer from them, they were the one who really helped me to get some memories back but this mark is going to stay an mystery until I know. "I just know that you already had it when I joined you in the KGB."
"Okay." I slowly nodded to them, taking back my own MP5 in hands, an surplus from Park, she's been giving me an lot of things...clothes, guns, means...."Well, do you think we can start to move ?"
"I'll check the other team status." Price told as he was getting his binoculars back to his jacket before taking his radio in hands. "Roach, what's your status ?" He started.
"All good sir, awaiting for your orders to move on." We could heard this Roach talk through the radio.
"Good, we're going in force so be ready to act up at my command." Price ordered before the radio went off, putting it back on his jacket. "Okay, I think we can go now."
"Wait." I stopped everyone as I was looking at the church tower that was overlooking the entire complex. "We might need some snipers to help us." I suggested before I got my eyes on Zasha. "Zed, you remember my lessons in sniper rifles ?"
"Yes, I'm remembering them well." They said, realizing my words as they start to look outside, pointing on the church. "You want me to go on top of this church tower to cover everyone ? I'm in !"
"That's an good idea I didn't thought." Price said, sounding amazed as he turned around to look at one of his men. "Soap ?"
"Yes, sir ?" The man with an strange looking hair got up, an sniper rifle....an LW3 Tundra if I can see right.
"You're taking Smirnov with you on that church tower, give them an sniper rifle and also....don't make an hard fall." Price ordered him and he saluted him before he gesture Zasha to follow him.
"Hard fall ?" I demanded, an bit lost on that...maybe it was an joke....
"Soap managed to survive from the fall he did from an church tower in an old mission, he's really tough to say....an good kid." Price explained to me as he was taking his MP5 on the ground, checking the mag of it before looking at this men "Okay, it's time to get the work done !" He exclaimed and with that, we left the point of view to get out.
All of the stress of going back inside that place was filling me as we were getting out of the building, Zasha and this Soap taking the lead to get in the church in advance before we start to get inside the church too with everyone awaiting for Price's orders to attack. Me....Park, we were pretty nervous about all of this but it was too late to step back and we will never do this like Park said, we're here to stop Stone and we will stop him.
Then, in an instant, Price talked through his radio, signaling the beginning of the attack before we charged throught the door that was leading on the main street that was also leading to the hotel, the same one when Adler and his team got inside the complex last time. We did really surprised Stone's men that was keeping this street from up close and our surprise allowed us to get rid of them all but it wasn't the time to rest already as the gunshots were replacing the silence of the place.
Right after we cleared the street that we had to run to the place in front of the hotel before getting to cover as we were greeted by the multiple mounted MGs around the location : two located at windows and the main one was protecting the entrance to be approached and because of them, we couldn't advance even if we were killing the numerous Stone's men and the corrupted Tropas soldiers around.
"Shit, these MGs is blocking us !" Price yelled as we were all in cover, me reloading my MP5 as Park was making some suppressing fire towards the MG blocking the front door.
"We're not going to pass with them." I exclaimed before suddenly, I heard an loud gunshot and I peak my head to find out that the user of the mounted MGs on the right window that was shooting at everything on us fall back, hit by an sniper rifle but it wasn't finished as seconds later, it was the left one that was out and then, the  one keeping the entrance was hit too. "Who did this ?" I asked, looking at the church tower.
"That was Smirnov, miss." Soap replied through my radio, we were all equipped with radio but Price was the only one that could contact the other team as for us, we were only able to make contact with those on our side.
"Damn, nice shots, Zasha, seems that my training was worth it." I said proudly, firying some bullets towards the few remaining Tropas soldiers still trying to shoot at us.
"Thanks, Yirina, means an lot." They told me on the radio, sounding good.
"Okay, this was the last one of them, we're going to enter the hotel." Price got out of his cover as I was doing the same with Park, aiming our guns towards the entrance. "Part of the team is securing the surroundings. Soap, Smirnov, you're making sure to keep an eye on the roof." He added as we were getting closer to the entrance.
"Yirina, take the lead, I'm behind you." Park suggested and I nodded to her as I start to move on the front, entering the hotel first and by the odds, the entrance wasn't watched by anyone and the gunshots were still audible all around the hotel but then, I heard an explosion and when I look on the ceilling just on top of me, I could see it crack. "Yirina !" Park yelled as I was realizing that the ceilling was going to fall on me and I quickly jumped away before an part of the ceilling fall down and landed right in front of the door, blocking it....I was the only one who got inside. "Shit, Yirina, you're alright ?" She asked on my radio.
"Yes, I'm good." I answered, going up on my feets as I was looking at the debris that was blocking the entrance. "Stone has trapped the place down, I should get move."
"No, it's too risky." Park protested, worried about having me alone in that hotel. "Wait for us."
"I can't, Park." I defended myself, looking around to find an way to get inside the hotel more further to find Stone. "Since Stone's men are fighting the other team, it's going to be good." I breathed, taking my MP5 back on the ground. "I will find Stone, try to find another entrance with Price."
"Okay....okay...take care." Park whispered on my radio before it went off, leaving me alone inside that hotel as they were going to find another way in.
Without wasting any more moments, I decided to move on, taking the same path I used with Park & Lazar years ago as it was the only one available for me with some things that changed  over the years, starting that there were no one that tried to greet me with bullets, not even Stone himself but as I was arriving near an closed door, it was suddenly force opened by an masked man, more looking like an Perseus soldier that was charging me.
I managed to avoid him quickly, putting myself aside before I decide to attempt to kick him with my feet until he succeed in grabbing my leg but this was my plan all along as I make him believe that he was controlling me. He did make me go on the ground not before I was able to put my legs between his arms that did take my leg and taking him with me. Then, once the two of us were on the ground, I hit with my right feet on his head, breaking his neck and killing him.
But before I could got up again, an soldier....this time, an Tropas one was arriving in the room and as he was going to shoot me dead, he was the one who fall down first, having been shot by someone else in the room....but when I looked around, it was only me here alive and no one else...until I looked next to me at my right....seeing Lazar himself....in the same outfit the day he died...
"You're looking like shit." He said to me as he was offering his hand to me....it was an vision and it was so strange....my struggle inside of me is making me hallucinate "Come on, Yirina, take my hand." He added before I resign myself, getting up by that vision, still shocked and confused about it to say, speechless.
"Laz' ?" I breathed, thinking that he was there alive, well with me...
"Do not let yourself down, you got this...do this for me...for Park." He exclaimed before he suddenly vanish from my sight....and the Tropas soldier body too, he wasn't real too, it was just me and that Perseus soldier in that room. I was so stunned by that....having an vision of Lazar here....shit.
"Yirina ?" I could heard Zasha's voice through the radio, breaking me of my thoughts.
"Yea...yes, I'm here !" I regained consciouness of the situation, taking my radio quickly, looking at the door that was broken.
"We've got eyes on Stone, he's on the roof !" They told me as I remember that this room was just next to some staircase that was probably leading to the roof. "Do we take the shot ?" They asked me.
"No, you don't....it's Park who is going to do this." I replied, recalling the promise that Park express to me an time ago. "Keep an eye on him, don't do anything, I'm trying to go on the roof." I said before I got my radio off, taking back my MP5 that was on the ground again before I walk away with great attention.
Like I remembered, there were just an staircase that was going up and to gain time instead of walking throught all of the ground floor, I decided to take them and to go up, trying to get to the roof but unfortunately, the door leading to the roof was blocked by things that I couldn't move by myself without making an big noise, meaning that I will have to find another way to get on top and crossing the last floor entirely.
Thanks to the other team making an lot of noises outside, there were only an few men that were standing in my way to get to the roof, killing them discreetly or if I wasn't able too, making sure that they weren't going to tell that I was here and finally, I found an way to get on the roof, the same way we used to run to the roof. It was during that walk that I could see the fight between the SAS and Stone's men and the SAS were gaining the advantage, seeing Garrett from afar as he was executing an soldier on the ground.
Since the SAS were advancing, I preferred to get along and to go to the roof....until I realized that I did arrived at the same place where I saw Lazar for the last time. By seeing it again, I found myself to have an vision of that day, seeing myself, Park & Lazar on the ground but then, something hit me by behind on my back, making me fall on my fours, still alive as I could see the feets of someone coming in front of me
"Fucking hell, is that Grigoriev herself ?" That voice, it was Stone himself, having seen me arrive or was awaiting for someone else. I looked up to see that he wasn't wearing an hood, seeing the man like in my first memory I had of him, holding an pipe before he hit me in the chest with his feets, putting myself on the ground. "That's for fucking with me !"
"Harry Stone !" I whispered, looking at him in the eyes, with him that got an smile on his face.
"Who do you think it was, you stupid bitch ?" He said, mixed between anger and happiness to see me like this. "Maybe that Freya is going to kill me but damn, I really want to kill you !"
"Fuck you, Stone." I scoffed before he decide to kick me right in the face, causing some blood to get out of my mouth, feeling the taste of it inside.
"Stubborn to the end, Grigoriev !" He then threw away his pipe to take out an pistol in his hand. "Let me get you up." He moved to get me up in an hard way, making sure that I was going to suffer enough, putting his pistol cannon right behind my neck. "You're not going to need this." He told me as he was removing my bulletproof vest that was covering my jacket before he got me at gunpoint, standing up to face the way the only way usable to get here.
"Yirina !" I was able to hear Park's voice coming near and not through my radio.
"Oh, let the show begin." Stone whispered to himself, holding me still with his gun before Park arrived with Price, some blood on their clothes...wasn't theirs, I believed.
"Stone !" Price was the one who saw me & Stone here, aiming his MP5 towards him.
"You son of an bitch, let her go !" Park ordered furiously, her MP5 aiming Stone's head but she couldn't take the shot, fearing that Stone will have time to retribute against me.
"Of course, I will...your majesty !" Stone joked around until Stone put his hands in front of my eyes and then, I could hear some struggle coming from Park and then, Stone removed his hands, allowing me to see Park also hold at gunpoint by someone else as Price was the only one with an gun in hand. He didn't want to prevent Park from this. "Drop the gun, Price, you're alone !"
"In your dreams, Harry." Price refused, mixed between looking at me & Stone and Park. "You know it's the end for you."
"Maybe....maybe not." Stone told him, getting his pistol cannon right aimed at my front right shoulder. "By god, I just realized....Park & Grigoriev working together....what the odds !"
"What are you talking about, Stone ?" Park demanded, trying to free herself from the man that was holding her.
"Oh....she didn't tell you ?" He started, moving his gun slowly on my shoulder. "Oh yeah, that's right, the CIA fucked up her brain and hearing Freya say that she can come back home....she wasn't able to tell you." He added, his head looking to Park.
"What...." I breathed, trying to understand what Stone was saying.
"You didn't remember London, Grigoriev ?" He asked me as I was confused as hell about it. "You didn't remember....what happened that day in 1973 ?" He continued as Park's eyes with me & Price goes wide, slowly realizing his words.
"Are you meaning....? What are you saying, Stone ?" Price questioned.
"I mean that....Grigoriev was there that day....yes....Grigoriev was there the day I killed your brother, Park." He started to laugh as for me, I was feeling so....weak and alone now....I was realizing that....this burn mark on my left hand, I got it in 1973....in London, during the death of Park's brother....no..."Oh, I could remember that she did tipped off William about me and honestly, seeing her running to save your brother....it was an perfect occasion to kill her too." He added, saying that I was the one who was trying to give Park's brother intels about Stone's true allegiances, like Price told me the day I met him. "Unfortunately, she lived."
"No...." I whispered in an very low voice that only myself could hear. By that horrible revelation, I couldn't look at Park in the eyes, fearing that she was hating me now....but no.....I don't want to think of it.
"You know what it would be marked on your grave, Grigoriev ?" He demanded to me as Park & Price were looking at us, stunned and me....shocked and ready to cry out loudly. "It will be saying : Was always there at the wrong time, at the wrong place !" He stated....In me, I just wanted to get free...to get away without any pain by realizing that me & Park were linked by an the death of her brother....until I got an idea.
"No.." I said this time loudly, starting to move my hands. "How about Yippee-Ki-Yay, motherfucker!" I then moved my hands fully to get them on his pistol but I wasn't going to try to move it away from me. I got my fingers on the trigger and then....I shot two times through my shoulder, knowing that his chest was just behind it and that the second bullet was going to hit him.
And it did, the second bullet make him move away from me as I was falling on my knees, feeling weak again, seeing with narrowed eyes, Park managing to get free from the man that was holding her until Price emptied his mag on this man. Feeling the blood in mouth and shooting myself two times in the shoulder, it wasn't going to make me feel better and then, I fell on my back, looking at the dark skies of Cuba as I could see Park & Price quickly walking towards me but I wasn't willing to smile anymore even at Park's sight until I grinned an little and I closed my eyes, trying to think about her positively, hearing her voice.....
"Don't worry, Yiri....it's going to be okay....you will be safe with me !"
