I am SO grateful that ed and stede exist as characters exactly as they are. I'm so grateful for these two men who are traumatized and messed up and struggle to even like themselves, who are terrible at communicating, who make enough mistakes between the two of them to fill an entire ocean. I am so grateful to watch them struggle and be seen and be loved and reach out for the things they want and are maybe starting to believe that they deserve. I'm so grateful that the show lets them fall in love and get together exactly as they are, that it doesn't say they need to wait until they've become some unattainably perfect version of themselves before they have permission to have that. i am so grateful for ofmd

because Cally O'Pia AU is just constantly rolling around in my head lately I did this little concept sketch of the end of RoR in this AU! Instead of the boss fight and memory deep-dive, it's essentially Raz getting let in on the "Loboto is actually Agent O'Pia" thing by Oleander, projecting into his mind, and getting some insight on what's actually going on from the Real Deal Cal while he's using mental projection to have the Loboto persona put up a front for his employer.

I had a shower thought about Destined With You after seeing some behind the scenes footage where many of the actors described their characters as being lonely. That's a big unifying factor for these different characters. And isn't that ultimately just the overarching theme of the show? The messy and desperate things people do to alleviate their loneliness.

We have Hong Jo who lost both her parents at a young age, who was bullied at school and who had no one to eat lunch with until recently. She also (very unethically tried to) cast a love spell to finally experience romantic love for the first time in her life.

We have Shin Yu with his complicated relationship with his parents (or mainly father), and Shin Yu's depressed mother who feels lonely in her marriage to her neglectful husband.

We have Naeyon, who's done erratic and horrible things in pursuit of Shin Yu's love, and who clung to him for two years despite never hearing an "I love you" back from him.

We have Jaekyung, who like Hong Jo didn't seem to have any close family or friends until he moved into the same building with Hong Jo.

There are the two female coworkers who develop crushes on all the hot lawyers at the office, but who spend their holidays alone.

Even creepy flower guy longs for his deceased wife.

So while I'm not going to stop yelling at everyone to stop making bad choices (never!!!), it's a show about messed up and even a few traumatized/depressed individuals. It doesn't make for great escapism, but I suppose they're all very human characters in that sense.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say yes, even though not much is known about Alastor when he was alive i feel like those times might be when he was willing to allow himself to be vulnerable with someone he knew he could trust, and he's definitely seen my S/I at her lowest many times,

they've known each other for so long and gone through so much together, they've got nothing to hide rIGHT.. ...except his deal and whatever he's been up to for the last 7 years 🙄

Billford isnt canon in a literal Sincere Authorial Intent sense, y'all 😭😭😭 please get better standards for how much creators need to include in order for something to be considered officially canon. I've jokingly said "I cant believe billford is canon" too, but I thought we were saying that lightheartedly. I thought we all recognized that it was "canonized" in a wink-wink nudge-nudge way where they fully leave room for people to interpret it as "haha isn't it so funny and clever that they're framing being betrayed by a demon as if it's a romantic breakup!"
