This birthday is bittersweet to say the least.

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of fun things happening this week with friends and family and I'm having the best time with my pencils project. But I guess one gets introspective on an occasion such as a birthday, and there's a sadness I can't shake this week.

I think I've been sad on main a bit too much lately, so I'm putting it under the cut lol.

I've been sad a lot this past month, but the truth is, this year has been a source of so much joy as well. I have real trouble reconciling the two. When I'm happy, or when I laugh or smile, there's a part of me that whispers hypocrite or you're so fake.

I've found it easier to just not allow myself any time to be sad, which is why I've thrown myself into my little side project. But this week, there were moments when the grief surfaced, and I didn't fight it. I hate to admit that it still hurts. It's still fresh.

'Moving on' or 'putting it behind me' aren't really the right words. But I do hope that 34 will be a year of happiness.

My present to myself is the random realisation that I was pregnant when I wrote the last chapter of Palomino and Patch. I'm so grateful to have a connection to my angel somehow, through my words and two stories that I love so much ❤️

sometimes its so crazy to realize that there's actually a lot of things i like. that i thought i didn't like because i was a depressed teenager. i love being outside! i love swimming! i love talking to people! even strangers sometimes! i love getting dressed in fun outfits and doing makeup! i love reading and going to art museums! i just thought i was doomed forever to a life of complete and total apathy and void! and now look at me! still a little shaky but i'm doing it!!!!!

I know, I know, I haven't even finished archiving my first Ross run here, and I'm already like 👀 new Ross run babe? Body update: it turns out that after about a year (ish) of trying to eat more healthily and avoiding fast food, my body cannot handle some of the meals I used to enjoy anymore

I had a burger last week at DND and was sick, and I thought it was bc the burger particularly greasy, but then when I ordered from my usual place today (less horrendously greasy but still, you know, a fast food burger) I actually kinda stopped enjoying it three bites in and had to put in some effort to finish it x)

Oh well
