Finally i've made it back home from visiting with friends again~, which i would've posted about sooner-- but an unplanned nap happened shortly after i had lunch lmao

note: so, i was doing some of the pending requests and i ended up re-reading this manga that i read last month and a prompt suddenly came into my mind and i won't be able to sleep properly tonight if i don't share this rn. yes, i'm always like this. sooooo this is tcf with a mad doctor! reader (i based it from takahashi akira of youkai gakkou no sensei hajimemashita)

tw: blood, unethical experimentation, basically everything (reader) does.

basically you were a doctor in the same company with kim rok soo, choi jung soo and lee soo hyuk.

when kim rok soo first arrived in the company. lee soo hyuk told him about the one rule that every team has everytime they goes to their mission.

don't get hurt so they won't go to the clinic to meet you.

and for the first time, when he met you. you were able to crack rok soo's calm demeanor.

don't blame him. thanks to his ability, he can't forget the first time he met you when he and jung soo got injured in one of their mission. he was too dumb to think that you were innocent. the way you sit on your seat like a calm person and that calming smile on your face that calm his nerves that time. making him forget how serious his injury was.

but his first impression about you didn't last when jung soo, who was looking for the comfort room inside the clinic. only to open a door that leads them your 'lab area' where they saw countless monsters, hell, some are even s-class. who was jailed and practically (despite of not being able to talk at all) beg them to drag them out there.

hell, they even saw some skulls there and dried blood!

the two of them then heard your sweet voice from afar. your cheery voice that was a stark contrast of the hell that they've seen.

“oohhh, rok soo-ssi, jung soo-ssi, you've seen my collections, huh~?”

and jung soo literally screamed at the sight of you. your usual clean lab coat was stain with blood.

he remembered jung soo shakily asking you what's the liquid staining your lab coat. then it took you a minute to answer their simple question. your bright smile still plastered on your face.

"ketchup, i think?"

but there's no way that a ketchup will smell like a damn blood!

then your nurses ganged up on them. those damn nurses who for some reasons have the same smile as you. and even the same eyes with a glint of madness.

okay.what.the.hell?

the last thing rok soo could remember after that. was you, taking a damn huge saw with a crazed smile—

“alright~ it's time for your medical examination <3!"

it was followed by jung soo's screams asking lee soo hyuk (who is not present that time) for help. and you, laughing it off saying that you won't hurt them.

when he woke up, he found himself in your clinic's bed. with the traumatized choi jung soo on the bed next to them. and then, you, who just finished an operation smiling brightly at them. asking how's their feeling, if they feel alright, and many questions. followed by your chuckles saying—

“hmm, looks like that i will be able to use that drug to others now, hehe.”

and during those times they stayed at your clinic to heal their wounds. they started wondering if you are really a doctor or a serial killer.

alright, alright— what kind of doctor will go check on them with blood on their cheeks. or while holding a dismembered hand saying that it was only a display and not a real body but blood was dripping from it and it was still moving?

but, they have to admit. aside from your unhinged personality. there is something about you that makes them at ease.

oh, are you wondering what's your relationship with lee soo hyuk? well, before the apocalypse, the two of you are actually classmates.

and this guy was the one who witnessed your craziness about 'knowledge' and discovering more about human (when the truth is you actually want to see if the human internal organs are really similar to the pictures they put on the books).

and it was indeed scary. but at the same time, lee soo hyuk adores you. though, he knows that you, during the apocalypse— found love and emotions useless. because it will only be a weakness that will burden someone and might become the reason of their death.

but that doesn't mean that he will get rid of this emotions that he has towards you.

and the day that he dread the most had come.

on his way to visit choi jung soo and kim rok soo (who got injured on their last mission) to your hospital. he was petrified at the sight of the ability users panicking as they evacuated your patients— and when he asked what happened.

what he got was countless high grade monsters appeared on the hospital— (which surprised him since he knew that you keep your experiments on the clinic you had inside the company since you did that it was safer there) and the only one who's still inside was you, kim rok soo and choi jung soo.

and kim rok soo, the person who was with you that time. the person who witness your last moments. the person who now couldn't forget about you no matter how time passes by.

he remembered how you kicked choi jung soo out of the window earlier, claiming that a patient would be useless in fighting monsters. and now, you seemed to be pretty out of it. talking to yourself as you and rok soo ran to the fourth floor.

he remembered you saying—

“god of death? what are you? a person with a middle school syndrome?”

and looking outside, he saw countless ability users preparing soft cushions and urging them to jump so that they will be able to set the hospital on fire and get rid of the monsters—

and maybe because of that— you suddenly pushed him out of the window. saying something about slicing someone's stomach open and observing what's inside it if they weren't a real god.

when you saw that both kim rok soo and choi jung soo was safe. you turned your back from the crowds, smirking as you realized you were surrounded by monsters. man, this situation excites you so much.

and taking out the remote from your pockets that will defuse the home made bombs that you made and put around the hospital back when you are so bored. you started thinking on how does it feel like dying because of a bomb before you pressed the button.

you expected that you will be stuck in nothingness after that event. but when you opened your eyes, you were welcomed by the sight of a beautiful woman with a fiery red hair and reddish brown eyes, smiling softly at you.

“looks like you were awake, my little ( name ).”

while up in the heavenly realm. there is a certain someone who made sure to wipe up your memories. so that you will forget the deal about agreeing to examine him once the two of you meet one day.

yeah, he might be a god but you scares him more than anything else so hard pass <3!

Cringetober day 24: Niche interest

I don't know if this counts but I'm super fixated on Frankenstein rn. And that fixation only got worse when I remembered (and re-read) a manga one-shot based on the concept, so now we have a doodle referencing that manga. Let me just say that IN MY HEART IT IS UNQUESTIONABLY THE BETTER FRANKENSTEIN, GAWD...it's SO cute, and they get to be happy, and rn I sound super wack-o for anyone who hasn't read it, but if you have, you're so real for that. Also I'm gonna stop talking now, this was way more yapping than usual, soz.

Okay, so I know the last time you mentioned/said anything about your hockey au was months ago, but I was bored at work and started thinking about it.

100% when the Straw Hat Pirates got a goal, Zoro skated too fast to the plexiglass and fell through (not in a shattering way, but in a 'the glass/plastic wasn't sealed correctly') and just continued his celebration from his seat on the ground

Smoker is definitely a referee because that man is Done. Referees basically have to corral grown men who get into fights like kids, so the dislike is usually mutual. Smoker absolutely despises the Pirates, but Luffy sometimes would poke him with his stick and go "hey sorry for yelling earlier 🥺" (an actual thing between a ref and, of course, a Canadian). This causes Smoker to have mixed feelings about these idiots. He will not let a single person know that he's a little soft around them.

(Poor Tashigi is that one ref that all the hockey players skate into or something. Fans are usually alright with her so when she makes a call, they all just accept it because she's been knocked down already.)

And I don't know how far into the manga/anime you are, but the part with Koby and Helmeppo makes me think about how one of them notices something suspicious within the hockey (or even Olympics, which might be more plausible) world, so they go into a form of investigative sports news

I had way more on my mind, but I have no idea where you are in the series (either through hard, truthful labor or through One Piece info osmosis)

re: spoilers, i don't mind them! i'm kind of all over the place 'cuz i just read whatever fic, google liberally, watch the anime as it comes out with my brother, and i just started properly reading the manga too. 😂 so just send those hc's over if you want to! i'm happy to read 'em.

So you know how I'm Watching the anime for the first time after reading the manga years ago? Well there's things I've been picking up on that I didn't notice before.

Like you know the theme were the strawhats don't know eachothers backstories? Well I didn't realise that a few of them actually do hear them.

Sanji and Usopp hear Nami's

Sanji and Nami hear Chopper's

Sanji hears Robins

And you'll notice there that there's a re-accuring pattern of Sanji knowing his crewmate's backstories.

And I haven't stop thinking about it since Chopper's, and now I'm at Robins where Usopp is passed out on the floor and Sanji is yet again being told about his crewmate's backstory.

This is such an interesting thing because the main characters not knowing eachother's past but still bonding anyway is such a unique thing for One Piece, so why has Oda decided to have Sanji be an exception to this rule on multiple occasions???

Someone who's good at making analysis stuff probably already knows but rn I'm just really interested in this unique pattern with Sanji.

I'm re-watching and re-reading Naruto rn and I noticed that what everyone says about Sakura being better in the manga than in the anime is NOT true 😭

There's plenty of added scenes in the anime that try to make up for the manga, actually. Maybe I'll make a post about it

For those who followed Trouvaille closely (you are my angels and I owe everything to you) you've probably noticed I have been often late on my schedule! It is mostly due to life but also after two years of devotion to Trouvaille I think a mini break would be the best thing for it 💞 and !!! Just a few weeks away from Trouvaille I already have been re-inspired and I'm super optimistic about Chapter 21, which will probably come mid-winter 🫶🏻

Also! This won't be up everyone's alley but if you're interested and missing VAGUE Trouvaille-esque vibes... there is a manga called Beastars that I read years ago (re reading rn!!) i love it. It's out there but the art is gorgeous and the story is complex so give it a chance before you write it off as weird! 💞

Re: chainsaw man my personal take is that the first 80 chapters or so are some of the best manga I've read, but it falls off after that.

Anon cause I don't want people to blow me up for saying I don't think pt 2 is all that good either. Weird pacing, inconsistent arcs. I know not everyone agrees with me on that but it just lost me.

I would however say that fma is definitely worth picking up. Its not the darkest story ever but it deals with what I think are some serious subject matters and treats them with respect and gravity. I read it again recently and think it holds up incredibly well.

yeah I like the aesthetics of pt 2 but rn I'm not sure how I feel abt it. really appreciate fujimoto's dedication to always taking things in the direction you least expect, also hoping it will eventually add up to something that will maybe be more satisfying when read in one go the way I did pt 1. there's some cool stuff in there still so I'm hoping he manages to tie it up in a way that feels worthwhile.

(this is dumb since I know the chainsaw man manga is about the titular chainsaw man. but I liked it when pt 2 was all asa & just doing its own thing. not mad it went the way it went, but. also, edit: both parts of chainsaw man are still better than the weird comics I make)

re: dark, that's just me admitting I'm still driven by morbid curiosity like a teenager watching horror movies while their parents are away or something. but I'm fine with stuff that's wholesome, or a bit of both, I think the thing I really NEED in a work is for it to feel distinct & like, honest? hard to explain but I know it when I see it.

I'll go in order with this, hold on (Tl;DR beneath every part :>)-

TGCF was the first danmei fandom i've ever got into. it helped me connect with my friends more since they introduced it to me which i think changed the timeline LMAO- and it's such a good story!! i think it's slightly different from mxtx's other works? but that's alright, because without spoilers, there's so many interesting characters/character concepts, settings, backstories, and a very good romance!! t is quite long so you get a few revelations before the final boss (and the plot twist for that is SO GOOD!!) and it leads for a big payoff in the end. it's totally worth re-reading for the sake of foreshadowing and re-living all the funny/angsty/whatever moments

SVSSS is SOO FUCKING GOOD. the most rereadable danmei ever, imo. it's so hilarious and tragic and tragically misunderstood... the characters are to die for and the fandom is wonderful. there are so many tropes and opportunities for the fans to explore it more and i think that's really beautiful........

Guardian is also so good imo!! it's probably in my top 3 w/ tgcf & svsss- i love the themes of humanity, i'm always a sucker for those, and guo changcheng is SOOO AMAZING. it's really lore-heavy and political, but the small moments are so cute toooo,,, and it's so rereadable! the extras were amazing, probably my fav extras ever, and i really enjoy the way the sid work together- like found family, hehe

Charlotte!!!! More anime/manga asks yipeeee I'll give you the three I can think of rn! For this one, Gintama is definitely my all-time fave but the others are in no specific order at all

Gintama - This one started off as a comedy at first and it really took its time endearing me to all these quirky and funny characters, while also showing glimpses of the layers beneath them. Then comes the "serious" arcs, that's when I start screaming and crying when I get to know more beneath those layers. The comedy is definitely still the highlight in this series for me, whenever I feel down I would pick a random Gintama episode and just watch it. Tbh, even if it has 300+ episodes, I can confidently say that I probably already rewatched it at least three times by now. But another highlight for me here is the mangaka's godtier ability to shift the tone between say comedy and serious/heartwarming moments, the transitions feel really smooth and it doesn't feel forced or out of place. I mentioned this in Jojo's ask, but this series really helped/supported me through my most depressed teenage years and it's probably not an overstatement to say that its one of the reasons I'm still alive rn. One of the quotes there that I can still vividly remember is "It's always darkest right before dawn". On the more goofy side, even to this day, I still have that one monkey's long ass name memorized lmao (the tagalog version specifically) Even if I change interests and fandoms, it will always be #1. The writing style, the characters and the comedy in Gintama are all such a huge inspiration, as well as a standard, for me. If you're familiar with Gintama, you can see lots of pieces of it in the way I want to portray and execute my own stories.

Pandora Hearts - THIS ONE CERTAINLY CHANGED MY BRAIN CHEMISTRY AS WELL. ITS ALSO VERY MUCH A MASTERPIECE. But my brain treats it the opposite of Gintama, in the way that after I finished reading the manga - I never reread it again. That's just how much the story destroyed me so thoroughly. I'm so afraid to re-experience it lmaooo I cried a lot of times for the characters there and the plot twists are nothing short of insane. I really love how complex the characters, their relationships with e/o and their lore are in this story. This series really fuels the angst + extremely complicated story lover in me. It's also a huge inspiration for my stories 🤭🤭🤭 If you're not familiar with this one, I recommend searching this one anime ost it has called "Lacie" (to avoid spoilers, don't go for the sideshow ones dkdhdj). I'm so attached to that ost, it has been a source of both comfort and sadness in one package. One of these days, I'll get enough courage for a reread...

IDOLiSH7 - I discovered this idol series when I was in college! (specifically experienced it first in the mobile game form) I thought its gonna be the usual happy lighthearted idol story that I'll move on from after a few weeks BUT NO! BRAIN CHEMISTRY CHANGED!! I didn't expect them to go so much deeper than that and I didn't expect to love & be attached to all the main characters, it's insane. Some of the characters' problems like Mitsuki's even hits so close to home, it really made me go *pause and starts walking around the house*. And thats just part 1 of the story, and then it's gets even worse (in the best way possible) in further parts. It doesn't help that the anime for it was done with a lot of love and care in it, elevating and improving the source material even further (adding/emphasizing symbolisms, more foreshadowing, etc). I just know that the main people involved in the creation/production of its anime were also as much of a fan as I am 🥺💖✨ (THE SONGS ARE BANGERS TOO!!!)
