Wonder Egg Priority - This was....weird... Like I am not sure how to feel about it?? Like I know its got some hidden metaphors but it was all super random but I think its deep I am just too dumb to understand and I was low-key scared half the time? sksksks like I may watch two or three episodes to give it a shot but if its scary I may drop it lmaoo

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun - EhhhHH tbh the only one I havent liked from this season so far sksks, I dont like the main girl because she looks acts like someone who would bully me and uhhhh no thANks! tbh probably wont be one of my favs

Urasekai Picnic: This was cute! If I am being completely honest I didnt understand half of what was happening on that first episode but I feel like it has potential! I really liked the animation style too, very pwettyy so far!

Attack on Titan: tbh attack slapss, I have no idea whats happening but yes !!!! we love to see the angst ! I’ve had Falco for like, an ep, and I would absolutely die for him. That Jean flash at the end watered all my crops too, I dont think I need to tell yall to go watch it but go watcH it !

Beastars: It was really good! I love the animation of beastars and I got to see best boio Jack again so that was fantasticc, Louis is still being kind of an ass but we love him for it and the opening is absolutely bangerr

Wave!! Surfing Yappe!!: It was cute!! I think the graphics are a bit off-putting with the cgi but thats just me being picky ASDFGN I am interested to see where it goes xDD, I am hyped tho!

Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! - I know I know putting this further up from beastars and attack buT asdfghj its bungo stray dogs and I love bungo stray dogs and everything in regards to it sksksk its adorable and I saw my babus and I just........... yeah watch it if you enjoyed bungo

I★Chu: Halfway Through the Idol: uhhmmm I started another one that wasnt on the list because I am weAk ASDFGHJK Okay okay I know putting this above cinematic masterpieces like Beastars and AOT is a bit far fetched but I am a sucKER for this kinds of shows of working together and friendship and idols and asdfghjk okay I loVeD IT and the main group and everyone is so cute sksksk

Kemono Jihen - Its so good?? Like it was definitely darker than what I thought and it made me so curious now I am reading the manga and suddenly I am on chapter 40 so oOppp I would definitely put this higher but taking into account this is my take on the first ep ill leave it here but just...... watch it because chefs kiss into my supernatural wholesome and dark shenenigans.

Horimiya: I am a sucker for my cliche slice of life romances okAy?? sksksk This one has a special place in my Kokoro because Horimiya was the first manga I ever read and Iura, Hori, Miyamura...... I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH ASDFGH I have not much to say other than yes !!!! watch it !!!

Kai Byoui Ramune: Okay if I am being honest, I had no expectations whatsoever upon entering this one sksksk like I thought it looked okay but I didnt think I would like it that much but uHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh its very good??? ASDFGH Like I love me my comedy with some yikes this will get dark soon undertones and even though the style throws me off at times I love it?? definetely recommended so far

2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu: uH I love to see it??? so goOD???? BrUhhH I Had high expectations for this and they still slapped every single one of them. I think its gonna cover some dark topics (a bit like stars align vibes it gave me and I aDorE stars align) and go watch it!!! blushing boi gives me lifE

The Promised Neverland: I LOVe ittt!! my bAbIESSS!!! I dont think I have to say much to convince yall to come watch tpn. The animation is great, the op and the ed we love to see it!! I must admit as a manga reader I know this first few eps are mostly exposure and a lot of info but when we meet my babus in the future its gonna be my fav arc and I am hyPeEEe

Dr. Stone: Stone Wars - Yeah as if it was any surprise I was gonna put Dr Stone in top top tier asdfg, what can I say? I see Gen Asagiri I have to ascend??? IT SLAPPED AND I LOVE IT anD The characters the flavor yes to everything I love winning

Skate-Leading☆Stars: I didn't have it originally on the list but I watched it because I saw some promo on insta and hOLY SHIT I LOVED THE FIRST EPISODE ASDFGHJ. My sports anime loving ass got fed everything she wanted and needed and I love the bastard and the main character and the one who looks like Atsushi and yes???? watch it as of the first ep its really good.

SK∞ - Wow eye-........ I had expectations but this first ep completeLY BLEW ME OFF AND I LOVED EVERY SINGLE PART WAhT. The animation is so smooth the plot the flavor the characters Langa everything perfection! I am a sucker for this types of shows so I will defo keep watching this ayeEE

Final Thoughts - I★CHU: Halfway Through The Idol

In a world of extremely generic idol shows with entirely too many boys to give any of them time to develop, I★CHU is certainly one of them.

Look, I love idol shows...but I love good idol shows, that have something to say, or some kind of decent execution, or even just really great music...and boy is I★CHU a laundry basket full of white t-shirts. These kinds of shows continue to be made primarily for people who already like the mobile game they’re based on rather than attempting to actually present a coherent plot, and the result is always the same - they pile characters onto you right away until you couldn’t possibly remember who was who without the experience of playing the game. (And, I’m sure, often even if you have done so.)

We also get musical numbers so dull to look at that I owe Idolish7 an apology, placed here sorely because you have to have songs in these shows or there’s nothing for the audience to look forward to. Studio Lay-duce makes okay-looking shows, and this is mostly nothing special, nor is it awful - again, just boring. Plain white shirt.

The male idol genre deserves something to pull it out of the dry, uninspired hell it’s been in for years now, and while I★CHU is hardly the worst thing in the world and I’m sure someone out there will like it, it’s not gonna be this. (Also, Lay-duce, is there something stopping you from making a second season of Release the Spyce? Come on, you can do better than this!)
