I am named after a soap opera character my mother wanted to bang. In her defense she was a teen fresh out of Juvie who was playing straight to keep her mom happy so like. Decisions were made. Possibly decisions I’ve been mocking my entire life. That aside, it’s also boring as fuck and I can’t stand hearing it in relation to myself. It’s like nails on chalkboard. I’ve been poking around to find something to change it to for uhh probably like twenty years. Why is naming myself so daunting.

2-when was the last time you cried?

Oh, yesterday. I caught the tail end of the Namona movie, and absolutely teared up over Holy Shit They Kiss And Get A Happy Ending? And then had to explain things like Xena and Gabby, BTVS’s Willow and Tara and the kill your gays trope to baffled kids

3-do you have kids?

Lmao yep. Three monsters. That’s where the username comes from, a very sleep deprived ‘oh my god if I don’t find a space that isn’t overrun with my kids I might actually die’ moment

4- do you use sarcasm a lot?

Fluently, even.

5-what sports do/have you played?

I’ve done softball, soccer and track. I decided I have better things to do with my time in high school and don’t miss it. Team sports are not for me.

6-what’s the first thing you notice about people?

Ah, that’s a weird one heavily depending on the person? It’s body language. If that doesn’t twig anything in my brain, then typically I take note of eyes or voice.

7-what’s your eye color?

Brown. Except for when I’m being told it’s orange. (It is not. It is so very brown. This is still funny every time I hear it. Even funnier when I point out things like Sunlight.)

8-scary movies or happy endings?

Cannot do scary movies, I have enough nightmares organically,I don’t need to give that machine more fodder. The real world is already sad and scary and I’d rather have happy endings in my media.

9-any special talents?

I have no idea how to answer this one, ever. What counts as a special talent? I am so very good at forgetting about both my tea and the goddamn laundry.

10-where were you born?

In a hospital.

11-what are your hobbies?

Does collecting hobbies count as a hobby? I read, write, sew, and die in video games mostly, with a side of falling down the YouTube theories hole but I’ve dabbled in art, building, baking, gardening, calligraphy, knitting, embroidery…

12-do you have pets?

We’ve got a calico kitty that’s about the same age as my eldest, and still acts like That’s Just My Really Tall Kitten. It’s adorable.

13-how tall are you?

Supposedly 5’5. I find this hard to believe.

14- favorite subject in school?

Always liked history. Literature was fun when the teacher wasn’t a pretentious ass. Some of my education classes were fascinating, but that was more of the human nature side of things. Oh! and my psych classes were amazing. Do not ever take a psych class lmao you will inevitably poke at too many of your own bruises, and realize your folks are about three times as fucked up as you realized.

I like learning. I just don’t like being told what I should be learning.

15- dream job?

As a kid, I wanted to be like, a vet or something with animals. Then I went into teaching and realized it’s not worth it.

As for things I don’t think I knew to even want, I’ve kind of got it? I don’t have any interest in the traditional work force— the idea of going back into that makes me violent ngl, between dealing with parents and The System during my five seconds as a teacher or dealing with The Public as a retail employee…I’m… no.

I’m home, being a side-kick teacher to the kids while they attend virtual classes. They need me less now that they’re older, but it’s still nice to have one of them wander out at random hours to info dump at me between classes or ask for help with a project. I dunno, as a kid who’d go literal days between seeing the adult in my house (and therefor became the adult in the house at Entirely Too Young) because she was working three jobs, being home and an active participant in my kids’ lives is just. I can’t top that.

‘Ahh, yes. Another day contemplating life’s purpose and making shitty coffee for shitty people. Joy’. These were Alex’s thoughts as he lazily walked the kilometre to the Starbucks. 'Yes, I sure do love me some pure hell today, I’m gonna have a great day, what with a test, a shift before /and/ after said test and the fact that all the trees are blooming and losers want to take photos with their coffee plus a flower tree. Such a great. fucking. day.’ He slammed his bag down on the bench in the break room. “I hate this.” Then Morgan poked his head around the corner. “Oh, come on, it’s not that bad champ! At least you get to work with me and Logan!” “Huzzah, I get to work with my brother and his boyfriend, yay!” “Logically speaking, you could have been stuck with people who hated you and didn’t understand your tendencies, isn’t this much better?” Logan chimed in, Morgan hugging him from behind with his chin on Logan’s head. “Urgh. Stop that. And it’s definitely not better, considering /this/.” He pulled his uniform on and pushed past them. “Let’s just get this over and done with”. “Well technically, we’re both checked in already, and the stores open but Missy is minding the till.” “Thank god, someone sane is here.” —— One hour in, 9 o'clock. 'Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. An hour felt like an eternity. Of course time was an illusion, but still. Seeing as his brothers long term boyfriend was his boss, he got away with studying for his test, but still , it was mind numbingly /boring/.’ Finally, a customer walked in. “Hey. Can I please have a *insert ridiculously long order here* please?” he asked. “My name is Roman” “Okay sure I’ll just.. can you repeat that, it was hard to follow”. Internally, he was cursing this man to hell and back. Externally however, he was writing down the order and painstakingly carrying it out. 'Is this guys job to make me suffer? I swear to FUCKING- nope nope he’s a customer, calm down. Argh’ “One specialised order for Ramen!” He called out. 'Stuff this guy and his bloody name. There’s no way in hell I was gonna read out that entire order, come on’ “My name is Roman, but it’s fine, an innocent mist-” “ I know that your na,e is Orman and frankly I don’t care.” “Rude. Goodbye then.” Roman stalked out haughtily. —- “Seriously? He came back /again/? Didn’t you swear at him last time?” Logan asked. Morgan, Logan and Alex were in the break room, Missy gone out for a date with their boyfriend, Pranks, that day. “Yeah I did. This is the tenth time he’s come back, I wish he would just quit it already” Alex replied. “Sounds like you need some cheering up, lets go out tonight!” Morgan suggested. At the groans of his boyfriend and his best friend ( cause really, they all were best friends) he said “we could just go to the movies! Come onnnn!”

They both agreed in the end, puppy eyes a large factor in their agreement. —- It had been a month. Alex was starting to wonder why his bather with Roman was becoming… friendlier. Flirty, almost. He had just watched Roman strut away for the 31st time when he was hit with the realisation : 'I have a massive crush on Princey’. 'Princey’ and sometimes 'Prince’ was the nickname he had given Roman after he walked into the Starbucks in a full Disney prince costume. Apparently he was an actor in a theatre near by. The reason he only started coming to the Starbucks was that he was travelling with a theatre troop for a year and before then had gone to university in another city. Alex’s city was his hometown. As he reviewed all the facts he knew about Roman, Alex thought 'this probably should’ve been a dead giveaway of my crush’ —– The 50th time he’d come in, in the break room, just after Romans visit. Alex detailed Romans extensive order to Logan, Missy and Morgan. “Wow”. This time, the order went too far. They were increasingly unsurprised by Princes orders now they got used to them, but this was… next level, to say the least. After the enormity of the order sunk into their brains, their reactions were swift. “I hope he dies….. /of sweetness/… because all the sugar he just drank will not end well for him” Missy responded. Morgan, ever the dad friend : “What do you need? Should I ask him to stop?” Logan, who was incredibly sick of this flamboyant pain in the ass: “Fuck that guy” Alex responded all at once. “He really does need to cut back on the sugar, no I’m fine Morgan, it’s just annoying, and if it gets too bad I’ll ask him to stop and i think he’s nice enough that he will and Logan, I’M /TRYING/, it’s just kinda hard to flirt when you’re trying to remember a ten bloody page long order!”

Missy burst out laughing. Morgan still looked vaguely worried and Logan was trying to look annoyed but was definitely holding in laughter.

Which stopped when they all heard a noise.

Slowly, they all got up, Alex in front of the rest, as he actually knew how to fight unlike the others. “Who’s there, what do you want?” It was strange, because they had another staff member out there, a new worker named Imaj, after imagination, for all their great ideas. They were young and lived in the area, and they wanted to get some practice in before their first shift in a couple of days. Morgan accepted that, as that way all four of them could talk with out being worried. Which leads us back to the first point, which was that there was a helper at the counter outside, so why had a customer ventured in?

Alex stepped around the door and breathed a sigh of relief. “It’s okay, it’s just Princey” “Why did you respond when I asked who was there?” “Sorry I panicked” Suddenly, it hit him. 'Had Princey heard everything?!’ Urgently, he asked Roman. “How much did you hear?!” “Uhh, all of it.. I’m sorry, I’ll leave, it’s just you dropped one of your rings in my coffee and I was gonna give it back” Roman stuttered, blushing. Alex replied, suddenly a lot more confident" Well, well,well, a shy Princey, never thought I’d see the day. Yeah I’ll have the ring back if you don’t want it.“ “Uhh, here.” Roman gave him the ring, about to turn around and walk out. “Wait, Princey, one last thing” “Yeah?” Roman asked, apprehensive. “Can I kiss you?” “Yeah”. As they kissed, they could hear the cat calls and wolf whistles of Morgan, Logan, Missy and now Pranks ( who’d just arrived, but knew about Princey already, from Missy). Alex flipped them off.

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

Honestly I don’t even consider this an OTP bc I’m so ??? but like….phl/int?? I just. Do not understand. And to this day. Still do not. And yet it’s sUCH a huge one in the fandom???? somehow??????

Honestly I kind of have an idea of some of the impetus but that is something I don’t even want to get into right now lmao.

5.Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

oH BOY, has it 8) 8). e.g. I literally Cannot with st*cky bc of the shit some of the nastier ppl put us (st/ony/tony fans through) back in the day. Like…..I literally had to blacklist bc I cannot even look at them 8) and every time I wanted to find Steve meta it was all st*cky stuff somehow. Plus, there was a time when the prevailing characterization (or at least that I saw) was really REALLY like……codependent and stuff? Like honestly I didn’t even hate/dislike any other ships at first, I even watched Kings just for Seb Stan?? Who I thought was great in it, he’s got a real way of angsting wordlessly that’s really effective. And also benefited him as the Winter Soldier. But like……I have him blacklisted now because I just 8) 8) when I see that/stucky stuff. 

19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?

the fact that canon is just so *massages temples* like all the time? Like honestly, on one hand I get the whole “ignore canon and enjoy it anyway” dealio, but on the other hand, I actually AM really resentful that I was trying to get into comics RIGHT as there was just…so much shit going on? Like I think one big moment I remember was during AXIS, which is…yikes. and then SIM, which we don’t talk about, which is more yikes? And then idk some other stuff, and incursions and prevailing grimdark culture (like it was all “hah, you thought superheroes would save you? Think again, NO ONE can save ANYONE!” like. c’mon, guys. You still WANT to make money, right?), and then whatever the heck secret wars/battleworld was. And then CWII???? and then Neo-Nazis Everywhere now. So like. y i kes.

and I wasn’t even really around during the first CW, and I’m already incredibly tired of it everywhere, including in MCU. Plus, I feel like Steve has been REALLY getting the short end of the stick with regards to everything. He’s sort of been at the mercy of whoever’s writing, and I kind of get the feeling ppl have just been sublimating their own vision of who the Captain America ideal should be (or subverting it for grimdark ~gritty~ ~realism~) and then extrapolating Steve from that, even though they COULD have done interesting stuff with juxtaposing those standards, Steve’s own moral standards, and maybe the conflict between him being a symbol for people but having his own views and stuff. I only just now in CW feel like I REALLY got a sense of who Steve is as a character, but unfortunately what coalesced is hardly flattering to the character :/

And like……honestly there’s a lot of stuff fandom-side, too. Off hand, I don’t think there’s much I hate about the Stevetony fandom? but I guess in terms of who I think about for that, it’s a specific subset of people I’ve seen around and interacted with or have followed for a bit. Like I haven’t really followed anyone new for a while now. but the marvel fandom at large….like….yike…………..the MCU fandom…… so much yike there. That specific subset of shippers who still think shipping is a great expression of LGBT allyship, who are the ones going “who do people even ship xxx??”, or just like….hating on people lmao.

Another thing I lowkey hate that isn’t necessarily directed at individual ppl is like….when non-Stevetony/tony fans are like “wow why are stevetony/tony fans so hateful/mean, they keep calling Steve a snake” or w.e Like….I get it bc they’re part of, e.g. the stucky fandom, and they’ve had the blessing of only coming into contact with nice ppl and never was on the receiving end of attacks or bullshit. But boy howdy, have Stevetony/Tony fans Been Through Some Shit. There’s a lot of, honestly, hurt there, and part of it is we spent so much time like mild about it and apologetic and we want some turnabout. It’s like that one tumblr post that’s like “fuck anyone who says forgive them ‘for my sake’ I’ve worked hard to hate them,” like for a LONG time, we were like “yes we love Tony, yes we know he’s not perfect, yes we acknowledge his flaws,” like we couldn’t just straight-up say we loved him as a character, we had to caveat it, and it was seen as a perfectly normalized part of the experience, to expect someone to come like “okay but also he’s evil because xxx” and have to be like “yeah okay we acknowledge xxxx but xxx.” Honestly I will fight for the right of ppl to their salt and try to contextualize as much as I can when I see stuff like that. bc you may not know but we haven’t forgotten :’)

There’s also a thing where I can’t tell if they’re in the stevetony fandom or they just….make posts, but those like …. “relatable” shipping posts that I sometimes will see bc mobile will rec it? Like I honestly hate those lmao. I find them cringey and painful to see. (those ones that are like “people think I’m so sweet and innocent but really I’m thinking of my gay ship fucking” or w.e like. maybe at some point I was like “omg same!” but now I’m like “please get this away from my face.” Or those ones where it’s like chat format like “isn’t xx sad?” “yeah isn’t it sad my ship isn’t canon?” or whatever like. D: D: that just makes me nnnoOOOOooooOOOOOooo inside. If you search a smattering of tumblr popular ships in tumb search You Will See Them. like, if you search johnlock destiel sterek or something like that. bc these ppl tag them with a million ship tags)

on that vein, really anyone tagging stuff with like character/ship tags that, imo, really....aren’t so much abt the ship but about themselves? Like, someone tagged their salt ask answer post with the character tags and I had to see someone say they don’t like stevetony and think comics Tony is a dick. Can You Think Before You Goddamn Tag pls and just Not. like ppl who bARELY mention Tony and still tag him in the tags........you realize it’s all going in a page right? it’s not just for your own blog? (but even then, what use is it to your blog when you mostly say “yeah I’ll be talking about him a lot!” but don’t.....actually say much about him.....in your post.............

There is still a lot of tony hating but honestly I’ve got so many ppl blocked now that I see more ppl referencing the antis in the tags (ugh) than I do actually antis anywhere. which honestly also kind of annoys me bc like. I think honestly the closest is probably Coulson lmao. Like. I just. Don’t see the appeal in him as a character at all. And recently I was watching a bunch of vid compilations for Iron Man and EVERY TIME there was like “and there’s someone else you pissed off. his name is phil” i”m like “:/ :/ but did that part REALLY have to be there??” like sure I get it it’s their vid compilation. But just. What Is The Appeal.

And honestly……I’m kind of :/ about MCU Clint, too? Like, Fraction’s Hawkeye is awesome, but somehow that doesn’t really register as Clint to me. AA’s Clint is fine, but for some reason my mind tends to default to MCU Clint unless there’s further elaboration, and I just :/ :/ >:( re: him.
